This place is a must see place, the staff are wonderful people. They are known for there Sourtoe Cocktail, that entails a shot of your choice(hard liquor), and a toe. Sounds gross, but it's not to bad, plus you get to say how you've done it. The bar has a couple games on the inside, and doors just like the olden days ! I had a blast everytime I was here, there was always something going on. Whether it be love music, karaoke, or people lined up from all over the world to take the infamous toe shot.

We did the ‘Sourtoe Challenge’ during the last week of December. We went with certain expectations that were far from met. First off, the last week of December is especially quiet in this bar and in the city in general. The ‘Captain’, who usually conducts the ceremony, is also away in warmer parts of the world during this time. This means you will be one of the very few people at the bar doing it - so already a pretty underwhelming vibe. Joanna was the server that did the ‘ceremony’ for us and I can’t think of how she could have made it a more underwhelming experience. You walk up to her table with a drink where she drops a toe in your glass. She then robotically reads out the rules and watches you drink your drink and sends you off with a certificate once you’re done. No smile, no story, no cheer, no captain’s hat, nothing. Sounds like a great way to kill a ‘tradition’ that’s lasted almost half a century. So if you go down there to do the sourtoe challenge in the winter, try to do it with someone who looks like they like their job - they might not be ‘the captain’, but they might want to make sure you have a good experience when you have made your way up there and paid the $8 fee to have a dead toe in your drink in the name of tradition.

We have our Sourtoe drink here and it was such an amazing experience. The captain was amazing, how he did the ceremony. We also got our certifikate - wohooo. FYI - you will get the drink here only from 8pm to 10pm, and we were waiting approx. 2 hours to get our shot. This place is busy, so make sure you come in time to have your shot. Atmosphete of the place is well-kept and service is great ad well as the atmosohere. Go for it. You wont forget this life experience and you will get certificate. It is not that bad how it looks like ???????? Not swallow, bite or eat the toe, otherwise you will be paying fine of $2,500! Great we did it with captain, causr I read some review, that they did it in winter and it was not great at all, cause captain wasnt there. Hovewer for us it was spectacular! ????
