You will be able to see all the feddbacks of real people like you who used the products of The Heid Out & Fisher Peak Brewing Company (Winery) in Cranbrook territory (Canada).
As of day the firm gets a score of 4.7 out of 5 and this rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is virtually the best one, and it's founded on a very large number of scores, so we can be pretty sure that the evaluation is quite reliable. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to place tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Winery corresponds to the category of Brewpub.
We liked everything about this place. The server was personable, food was tasty (amazing falafel curry/ginger special), and the beer was great (Hazy IPA)!
Really good schnitzel and as a bonus, the fish and chips were gluten free and very good!
I’m from out of town and have only been here twice, once during COVID mask-time and now. Regardless, both times the atmosphere was awesome, the service was/is great, the beer is top notch and the History of the building = 5 stars for sure.
A fantastic place to hang out, and the brew their own beer. The ambiance is that of an upscale bistro, the beer and food are excellent. The price can climb quickly depending on menu choices but the quality of the food and drink is worth it. Ive gone in for multiple occasions with multiple crowds/friends and the place was suitable for all of them. The service is usually excellent and the staff will do their best to accommodate your needs. The decoration as a hint of history and gives a good overview of some events that happened about a hundred years ago in the city of Cranbrook. I will return to this location for years to come.
A nice surprise in downtown Cranbrook!! Service was great, food is locally sourced and in house prepared. When in Cranbrook check this gem of a restaurant out. Don't forget the drinks.????
Had dinner here recently with some friends. Excellent service. Good food, smallish portions for the pasta. Desserts were all excellent. We each had our own favourites. We were there nearly two hours. Everything was timed very nicely.
Great spot. Big call out to our waitress, she was excellent. We started with 4 cocktails and the waitress spoke to all of them and even checked to see we liked them once we had a few sips. We started with a few appies. The feature Yorkers, they we big and delicious. The mushrooms were ok, but I did not understand the bread combination. The mango prawns, it was ok. The mains hit the spit. The schnitzel was excellent, it hit the German craving. The shrimp bowl was excellent, would order again in a heartbeat. We ordered dessert to go. Cheesecake was excellent! The lemon squares were not what I had hoped for. The tide chocolate square was excellent. All In all I would go back without question.
Do not go here for lunch if you have less than 2 hours to spend. Took more than 20 minutes for my order to be placed, and after another 30 minutes my food had still not arrived. I explained that I needed to return to work, so it was brought to go. My fries were limp/undercooked and my salad came without the dressing. The beef dip I ordered was mediocre. Very dissatisfied. Will not return, I feel ripped off.
Our waitress was great and the location was nice but the food was mediocre at best. We ordered two of the top 3 waitress recommended meals: Cod with fries and schnitzel. The schnitzel tasted fishy- as if it was fried in the same oil as the cod. The schnitzel was paired with frozen veggies and salt and pepper noodles. The noodles were the only thing that tasted good. The waitress did NOT box up the majority of the meal that was left over However she did box up the remaining cod that was left. I couldn’t help but to assume, most people leave the unfinished portions of schnitzel... The undesirable looking cod (I’ll let you be the judge on the appearance) with fries was good but the tarter had entirely too much Lemon juice. So much that it tasted like lemon rather than tarter.
Very kind and accommodating. Amazing GF and normal food. Head chef came over to our table several times and let us try several things without charge.Amazing Atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out.
Thank god we chose an awesome spot. We had a long drive through the mountains and wanted a great meal before we continued on the drive. This place had a great environment, perfect setting and awesome tasting food.
Great stop! My boyfriend and I loved our beers and drinks! I got the stuffed yorkshire puddings and they were HUGE! and delicious. The brewery itself is open and there are great views of the mountain. To top it off, the service was awesome. I recommend the pilsner, it was ????
One of the best restaurants in the Kootenays! The food, the service, the atmosphere, are all incredible (the beer is exceptional too). What many don't know is how much catering they do. Whether its a meeting, staff party, wedding or special event, they do it all. This month, we had the pleasure of attending a 7 course meal catered by the Heid Out. I have traveled to many major cities and had some great food but this was one of the best meals that I have experienced. We also booked them to cater for our staff Christmas party. We were not sure what we wanted but we wanted it to be good. Heidi, Rusty, Mark and the entire Heid Out team put together an incredible spread that had my team talking about it for days. We are lucky to have such an phenomenal eating establishment in Cranbrook. I look forward to my next meal with them.
Perfect service and delicious food , the patio is dog friendly . Sof far the best food and drinks experience in the area . We ll come back to keep explore this beautiful menu.
Great dark beer, good food and the service was great.
We stopped at The Heid Out on our way through Cranbrook and had an awesome experience. Our server Zach was fantastic (great recommendations for both food and activities in the area) and our meals were delicious. Would definitely recommend!
Great place! I've eaten here twice and both times the food was excellent however the main attraction in my opinion is the beer. Brewed in the same building it is some of the best beer I've had. I've purchased a keg for an event and the staff was extremely helpful and willing to offer advice. Thanks to the owners for making my experience pleasant.
Ask for Justin! Best server ever. He recommended the seasonal IPA. It needs to be on the menu, not just seasonally. Hazy and hoppy! Not only is he knowledgeable but very professional! Cool ambience. Avoid Monday night however. 30 mins wait. We loved the schnitzels! The seaside appy was delightful with the creamy sauce. But only 8 mussels.
Great schnitzel and yorkies to pair up with some amazing beer. The patio was awesome and so was the location. Strongly recommend.
To start the servers are polite and attentive to the customer... from other the experience went through the floor. An over priced house salad that tasted like milk weed (thank god for blue cheese dressing) had rotten greens in it. The Mediterranean mixed veggies are great other than an over pour of olives that could be accidental but its easy enough to work with after my practice of trying to build a salad I could eat without looking like a savage. The halibut was perfectly done and really worked in the mixtures of flavours. All in all, service and quality of the main dish is probably the reason I might try this place again. Key word is might...
Absolutely horrible service. It took forever to get our drinks and our server behaved as if we were an inconvenience. We didn't even bother to finish our drinks and decided to forego dinner and eat elsewhere. I can't say I'd recommend the place.
Enjoying the atmosphere here. They brew thier own beer! I was told you can sample 4 beers for free. This is a hidden gem. Felt very comfortable with thier covid Practices. Highly recommend!
Food was DELICIOUS!!! Except the wasabi. I should’ve read the menu closer but that’s my fault. Haha. Only reason for the 3 star rating was that we sat for 20 minutes before a server came to take our order and we hadn’t even ordered drinks yet. And we were on a time crunch as my sister had a meeting to go to which she ended up late for. Service speed is an issue I’ve been told though.
We went on a Tuesday it was really busy. We had to wait about 20-25 minutes to get seated and then we had to wait about another 30 minutes for our food. With that being said it was well worth the wait. Our waitress was awesome I wish I remember her name???? We went for my daughter's 10th birthday dinner, she chose The Heid Out. I was a bit iffy in the beginning because my daughter is a picky eater, but she enjoyed the kids slider meal and to top it off our waitress brought her out a piece of cake and ice cream with a sparkler candle in it for her birthday and it just blew her mind she was so happy. Definitely will be back again.
Perfect place to come and relax and fuel up after a fun MTB ride in the community forest. Perfect options of vegetarian based meals and my salad was incredible. A nice light grapefruit beer Radler for my beverage complimented the meal nicely. We lucked out with incredible live music playing on Thursday night too. Fun and upbeat atmosphere with wonderful service. I will most likely return if I am in the area again and recommend to others.
First of all, the food was absolutely delicious! We began to sample a few different beers when Jordan, the master brewer, came to give us a tour. It was amazing! He definitely knows his stuff. Every beer that we tried tasted great! Not to mention, the porter was the best I had ever tried! The entire staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Keep up the great work guys!
Innovative menu, fun and relaxing atmosphere, cool staff and great beer! Try the blonde ale or the pilsner ???? can't wait to come back next time we're in town!
I was told this was the best food in Cranbrook, but was very disappointed. Rice was served plain, vegetables very nearly (though there was a short strand of hair in them). I ordered a seafood dish: the shrimp seemed overcooked, a couple of the mussels were gritty. I was driving, thus, didn't try the beer, which is what they're really known for. Service was excellent, atmosphere was nice. Good location.
Mushroom Masala was delicious, very flavorful and enough for two meals. Flight of beers was good too, but maybe not as exotic as I prefer. The porter was my favorite. Excellent customer service from Chris (bartender) and other wait staff who helped me select my order and answered a variety of questions I had about the area. They also had a vegan menu in addition to the standard and were very accommodating to dietary needs.
Great beers, great food and amazing people (Craig). Elephant Run IPA was delicious, My wife is Celiac and they have good gluten free beer and cider available along with delicious GF food choices. We will be back next time we pass through.
Awesome service and food.
Always great service and food
Fantastic food and fantastic staff. I highly recommend the Heid Out.
The food and service is top notch and the beer is the best in the region.
Every time we eat here the food and service is excellent. The menu offers fresh and unique ideas that pair well with their home brewed beer. Would recommend to anyone for any occasion.
The Heidout is a great experience. Amazing staff and you're always greeted with a smile at the door.
The schnitzel was very good, nicely done meat and the sides were quite nice. They have a crisp, light flavoued on-site brewed beer called prospector. The beer was outstanding. Service was quick and friendly.
Fantastic food, great service and delicious vegan and gluten free options. We will definitely be back!
They serve a scrumptious Yorkshire Pudding with Roast Beef here. It's rare to find restaurants that serve Yorkshire pudding. The Yorkshire Pud was crisp and fluffy, the roast beef was good, but would have been even better if it was cooked …
Went here for dinner based off the good reviews and a hankering for local beer. Beer was good, food was average at best. First attempt at service we never met as we ended up sat alone at our table for about 25min before the hostess took …
Food was good, the burger was tasty and everyone else at the table enjoyed their food as well. The atmosphere is very nice & the selection of beer is good. However service was very slow, waitress left midway leaving the table unattended. Food was served without cutlery. Dessert took more than 30 min to arrive and one was forgotten. Given the quality of the food and the rating I think it was atypical and good service here is the norm. Must have been a bad day.
Honesty, did not expect to find a place like this, I am impressed. Staff was way above good. My flight is beer was awesome. My friend enjoyed her's as well.
My husband planned a 30 day trip across US and Canada for over a year, booking hotels and scouting out an evening meal that catered to Celiac's. Our meal was amazing, staff were attentive and fun. We will plan a longer visit in this region so I can eat worry free with so many great choices. Thanks, we will be back!
Enjoyed the beer. Lemongrass bowl was tasty.
Brilliant salmon and sun-dried tomato salad. And they split the salad into two dishes for us. Just as well!
Enjoyed the meal, excellent service, varied contemporary menu, live music (a bonus!), and a delicious rhubarb meringue dessert. Great spot for a reasonable price, considering the quality of the meal.
Good schnitzel, and great service. The IPA's I had were not juicy enough for my liking. Great atmosphere.
Such a wonderful atmosphere. The decor is well thought out and lively, clean and the lighting is perfect for an informal party or even romantic dinner. Most people should reserve romance for the shoulder hours as it's quite a busy place during the evening dinner hours. Food is quite tasty and the kitchen staff was a bit slower some days as the place sometimes has a twenty minute table wait. Consider this isn't so bad as to speak volumes about the food and the craft beers on tap. The micro brewery on site means a constant supply of house beer is available. It can be a loud place and there aren't too many real private corners or booths to be found with the open floor plan, but it leans on the side of trendy rather than cozy/private. Prices were very competitive vs other places of this nature. For this reason it elevates the Heid Out as one of the top 10 contenders for venues in the region when considering food taste-quantity vs price. Service from wait staff was extremely attentive. There were a few hiccups in the food itself but nothing that couldn't be fixed with renewed attention. All in all the few cons are easily dismissed vs the overall positive experience. An easy 5-stars for this Cranbrook gem.
Great service and friendly staff. Good food and beverage.
Incredible beer and food, server was attentive and friendly. 100% would recommend!
Fast and friendly service. Our server was very knowledgeable and super helpful. The food was delicious. Very good gluten free menu with dedicated kitchen appliances for gluten free preparation. Worth a visit!
Stuffed Yorkies were excellent & really good beer
Amazing food! Had a variety of appies they were incredible. Great service and the dark stormy porter was awesome.
We really appreciated the vegan menu. Mu partner enjoyed soup, salad and fresh sourdough bread. I has the amazing Manchurian cabbage ball bowl. Yum
Had a great meal even though we had only planned to stop in got a beer, and grab a growler to go. Our waitress was really cool. And they gave us dessert for our second try at an anniversary dinner out! Out first one at another restaurant was not positive , so we tried again here! Definitely felt like our anniversary!
10/10 service Zach is the best waiter he’s amazing we walked with 10 people and he made a table with haste. This man deserves a raise
Delicious food and their beers are so good! Especially the Dark and Stormy Porter or the hazelnut porter. Both yummy!
Great food and beer selection. The chef is innovative and can create personalized dishes if requested. Lively atmosphere that attracts a good variety of people. A restaurant and gastro pub for all occasions.
Excellent applies washed down with really good beer. Highly recommend
Absolutley Fantastic food! Service is outstanding, waiter was fast and efficient and knowledgable on all aspects of the menu. The black bean veggie burger was one of the best burgers I have tasted and its Veggie, can't explain it other than try it. Soup was delicious, sesame orange chicken soup. Outright tasty!!!, side salad was a well prepared mix of greens and vegetables, ranch dressing was excellent. Creme brulee of the week for dessert. This restaurant is one of the best.
The Heid Out is super amazing and the butter chicken is simply to die for. Cooked in house, when you can get your hands on it absolutely do! The ambience is killer and I swear it gets nicer each time I go in there! They make supporting local easy!
We had burgers, schnitzel and chicken fingers and it was all delicious. Good service, nice facilities and central location.
Love the high quality food, award winning beer made in house and service is always top notch
Had two of thier beers, very tasty. My chicken club with bacon jam was delicious
Very good quality food and lots of variety. Went with a family of 5 - it's also good for kids as it has a restaurant side. Had Raj's special curry dish (can't remember the exact name) which was fantastic. They have food craft beer too - I had the With beer. I highly recommend.
Good food and great service. I'd go back again. Had the cobb salad
Good Food. Great Beer.
Really should be 3-½. Ample impromptu patio space, fast friendly service. However, the beer is just ok. The bar for excellent local beer is just so high these days. Food - meh. Menu could be trimmed to a smaller selection better executed. Nothing wrong with anything I had - but…. Meh.
Excellant food and Service!! Treat me well everytime and dont ID me with my vaccine passport. The Steak dinner is incredible. I eat here alot now. Thanks to the staff here!
We ordered the Schnitzel and it was very good, only outdone by how they did the spaetzle...which was as good as we got in Munich. They have big garage doors they can roll up to make it feel more "outdoors" and safe.
Full of awesomeness! Great food, great beer.
Great brewery! Great food, decent selection of beers. Pub food but elevated. Amazing staff. Lots of patio seating. Super friendly service.
The staff at the Heid out are great, they were very cautious about our food allergies, the food was delicious and they just gave good service all around
Amazing service! After a long night shift. Then out to cranbrook from Calgary. Getting something in your belly is one of the highest things on your priority list. I got the Heid out burger which went above my expectations. We also got the black bean brownie and i must say. I think they're lying! It was so good... One of the best brownies I have ever had.
We went for supper to the Heidout and we got perfect and super friendly service. The food is exceptionally good and original, the dessert are splendid. Would definitely recommend!!
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal here Friday night. My husband has heart issues and it can be so hard to find a restaurant that can accommodate this and the Heid Out went above and beyond. The chef came to our table to see what my husband's needs were and was so willing to make changes for him. It was so refreshing and will be our regular place. Thanks so much ????????????
Meal type
One of the only places open and it was great!!!
Exceptional gluten free menu. Waitress did her best despite computer system going down. Will certainly be back
The good was amazing! And they have a great selection of in house brews, definitely recommend!
Good service, fantastic food and the beers are amazing
Amazing food, but service was a bit slow.
My husband and I shared the Beef Melt, very good. It was nicely split on two separate plates. Good service, nice atmosphere.
My go to place when we drive to Cranbrook. The food is yummy and the staff are engaging. The wine list is pretty good too!
First time visitors. Food was Excellent, beer was Awesome, and Zach was Hilarious. Thank you for making our evening enjoyable.
Great local brewery, with great beers on tap, growler service available, with a beautifully remodeled restaurant. amazing dine in, and take out options, the food here is fantastic, and their bar tender knows his way around a cocktail. This place is run by a long time local business owner, used to be known as Heidi's, and was at the Kimberly ski hill. It's a classy joint, great place to bring a date and while it's not required to dress fancy, you won't feel out of place in your Sunday Best. If you haven't checked it out, i highly recommend it
Had the Baked Brie and a couple dark beers - It was excellent; Service was fast and friendly; Totally recommended.
Was good the first time we went. The next time the food was terrible, pricey and service overbearing.
My wife and I had a very enjoyable evening meal here last week, the food was great, the staff were friendly and helpful and as for the beer, well all I can tell you is that their Hellroaring Scottish is one of the best beers I have had on this continent, and believe me I have travelled extensively and tried many, many brews.
Great food! Wonderful service. Absolutely enjoyed this place. I will definitely visit then again. Highly recommended!
Very busy and service was slow. Chef came out every 5 minutes to check on us. Brought us appy's and made sure we were happy. Took 50% off the bill for the inconvenience!! We had a great night and just enjoyed a nice slow meal!
Just wow. From Red Deer here for work. Been two nights straight. Will be again tomorrow. Don’t know how Cranbrook lucked out with a place like this. EXTREMELY well done.
Fantastic food and service great menu and drinks. Will return. A++
Arrived on a busy Saturday evening and the 2 of us were seated right away. Our server was Justin, and he was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us excellent advice on our choices. We enjoyed our dining experience and the food and wine was great. I recommend the restaurant for visitors and locals alike.
Large gluten free menu and a separate gluten free kitchen. Everything was absolutely amazing. They missed putting the chicken in my pasta and the chef came out and apologized himself and gave us a free gluten free brownie. All the staff were absolutely amazing and the food was even better. We're from Calgary but will be sure to come back to the Heid Out whenever we are in the area and have reccomended friends and family do the same.
Got in right away. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere and choices.
Great service, new layout is an improvement. And those pickles!!!!
Had the Scotch Ale and the Hunter schnitzel and both were top knotch! This place came highly recommend by the locals and it did not disapoint.
We ordered takeaway this evening and had our own “pub night” at home since we can’t go out. The food was wonderful and the growler of cider made it feel extra special. Thank you so much for still being open for take away and delivery. Can’t wait to come in for real when when all this crazy stuff is over.
Fantastic food and Service. The schnitzel was one the best meals I've ever eaten and the owner was extremely nice and great at his job! 10/10
I've been twice now on visits to cranbrook both times the service and beer were fantastic. It seems like it can get pretty busy but its definitely worth the wait!
Touched down for an afternoon brew n' appetizer today, ya gotta try thier deep fried pickles ????. Great beer selection, they brew in house and offer up some samplers to test your pallet. The staff are the hard working passionate types that will not rest untill you are satisfied and enjoy your visit. Thanks Team, a really fun experience!
Everything about the place was great... Beer was really tasty and fresh, the food was nothing short of amazing, we had the spicy pickles the stuffed Yorkshire puddings the red pepper hummus flat bread and the Heidout burger. Our server Craig was fantastic and made great recommendations.
Super delicious. Craig is a great guy
Super staff. Great food. Enjoyed the schnitzel and a beer!
Nice place, nice staff and tasty beer.
Great food and service. Our waitress Ghisele did an awesome job! ????
They were polite, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about their offerings. We had a great meal of fried pickles, Cobb salad and Thai seafood. Would go there again in a heartbeat. Thanks guys.
Have a great gluten free menu and a celiac frier
Tasty burgers
Best Mediterranean veggies and chicken! Service was so great and personable and the beer (hellroaring scotch ale) was fantastic. We had to take a six pack with us!
Very impressive!!! I eat at nice restaurants all over BC due to work travel and didn’t expect a restaurant of this caliber in Cranbrook. The Heid Out could easily compete with some of the best in Vancouver or even Nelson, which has more than its share of great restaurants for a small city. Hats off to the chefs, management and he great staff. The line up of appetizers made me come back the next day and order a meal of nothing but appetizers. Wow! It was a good choice.
Loved it here! Superior service (thanks Dani) with a healthy dose of that famous Canadian kindness. Our food was excellent as was the beer! We had a wonderful time!
Fabulous food wonderful host exceptional wait staff, i could go on and on but I'm sure you get the picture
Visited here for a birthday. Was a 2 hour wait to get our food. Half the table had the halibut and we all found it to be over cooked. One of our party had the lamb and it seemed to be warm instead of hot. I have ate here for lunch and dinners. Lunch is always as expected but the dinners seem to be inconsistent for food quality. Their onsite brewery produces some nice beers. Also was at a catered party that the Heid our catered. The food was very nice and different from what is on their regular menu. I recommend giving them a chance.
Amazing food and service! The beers on tap were also, great. Thank you!
Been here twice now. Food for two people was excellent both times and craft beer was tasty. Staff were all friendly.
Great staff. Great beer :)
Excellent fish, our waitress was just awesome, I did not want fries, she gave me rice instead, just really very good. Let's of other great dishes too.
A special meal, great service!
Excellent place great Wit beer
Good food good service friendly staff Consistently good to great food
Just got back from a new years eve visit to The Heid Out. Had great service as always and the new years sprecial (blue cheese, pear and apple stuffed chicken breast with mushroom/asparagus risotto and sauteed asparagus with a blue berry reduction (not to sound too chefy) was unreal. Happy to see them firing on all cylinders and busy despite the short notice restriction put on them for the night. Great job.
Service amazing, drinks top notch, food delicious!
Staff are so so friendly, it was chilly on the patio so they brought us blankets and put up a wind shield. Food was amazing as well, definitely recommend!
Their blueberry chicken sandwich was excellent. The chicken was perfectly cooked. The salad was also very good. Just a house salad but everything was fresh and the picked carrots and garlic aioli dressing added a nice touch. Simple food done well.
Great service and great food. Has the pub standards with a few more options. The locally crafted beers are delicious with a nice variety. A spot any local would recommend!
Disappointing. Having heard many good things we decided to check it out. Food was very average for the high prices. Beef was so dry that the au jus couldn't even save it. Service could have been better. Ended up going elsewhere after appetizers.
Lunch
Excellent, as always! Huge thanks to our waiter, Zach, you were amazing!
Beyond amazed! The food, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail was unexpected. If you have any dietary restrictions such as Gluten, this is the place to go! They are beyond accommodating and go the extra mile to ensure you leave satisfied.
We were travelling through from Ontario and decided to try this local brewery..our server Justin was amazing..very knowledgeable and suggested great mid day eats, the soup and dill pickle spears were delicious…drop in if you can…it’s fabulous!
Fantastic atmosphere and great locally brewed beer on top + Growler service
One of our favourite restaurants to go to in Cranbrook. The food is fantastic. The service is exceptional. Especially server Craig. He is our favourite.
One of the best meals we have had for awhile. From start to finish, soooo good. Your creme brule wins, wins, wins, tooo bad we live so far away. Ooh and your beer, yummmm.
Absolutely fabulous food and some of the best service staff this old Texan has ever seen. A MUST visit. Repeatedly. Enjoy.
Love this place! Everything is tasty!
Everything we had was very good. And all tasty beer
Been here many times. This was the first time that my girlfriend and I were asked for 2 pieces of ID. The gentleman seating us also seemed confused at seeing Alberta ID. Was very disappointed with his service. Our interaction was very aggressive. However, the young lady that did serve us was fantastic. Super friendly. Our food was great and served quickly.
Very friendly staff, great food, and they seemed really dialed on celiac protocol. We had a great meal. Having a gluten free beer on the menu would have completed the picture for me!
Great service, the poutine with pulled pork was delicious. Wasn't as keen on the Yorkies, the roast was a little dry and the jous could have been more flavourful. The horseradish aioli was delicious though and I don't typically like horseradish.
Thanks you for the awesome free turkey dinner. It was excellent tasting food
Chef/owner was great to work with. Came here with a group of 25 or so for a function. Used the basement room. Private, decent room, quite good food, very good service. Arranged a private menu ahead of time that we xouls order from as individuals. Had a really good time. Go to again place.
In town on business and dined here based on reviews. Impressive, attentive, positive and prompt service. I had Medi Vegetables w/Ribeye - great plate colour, steak cooked properly and I enjoyed the lemony zest in the bread crust which was a nice surprise. Would recommend and dine here again. Good job Heid Out!
Fantastic food and beer. Slight slow on the service but great food takes time to prep. I'll definitely be back to taste some of those great food again.
I ordered their steak sandwich for lunch today. The steak was not a striploin. It was a puck of chewy meat that had no flavor. The fries were uninspiring and the little arugula salad was a an insult. The worst steak sandwich I have ever had in my life. For 29 dollars, the Heidout should be ashamed. There are many good dishes on the menu, but this is not one of them.
Fish and chips. Cooked perfectly. Large portions.
Fantastic restaurant, staff and food. Thanks for making my father's birthday special by just taking the effort to wish him a "Happy Birthday!" when delivering his surprise lunch today. He said it was wonderful and needed a nap. :)
Great food, very friendly service and good beer. And they even mailed me my wallet after forgetting it at the restaurant. Definitely will be back
After a road trip from Alberta to get to Cranbrook, we looked for a local craft brewery to get some good beer. We stopped at the Heid Out and picked up some White Wolf Hazy IPA to take to our hotel. The restaurant looked great and appears to be a fun place to enjoy a lazy afternoon. The staff (all of them) were very friendly and attentive. We want to return to Cranbrook so we can head to the Heid Out. Oh, and the beer was fantastic. Very flavourful and satisfying. You can’t beat good craft beer.
UPDATE: WENT back for Mother's day. The service and the food were the best. Awesome come back. Will go there again. The other post was from over a yr ago. Dinner, was NOT worth 29, no sauce or seasoning on steak, not cooked properly, only 2 onion rings, sour dough just plain bread no seasoning or flavor, dry, caesar salad ok, limp lettuce. Waitress never came back for refills or other service till time for bill. Not going back
Very busy for a Monday but a number of places are closed on Mondays. The beer is freaking awesome and our server Justin was top notch. The other staff were also very good super friendly and hard working. We are here for a few days and will make another visit for sure
Service
Food was good. But overpriced for what you get. Service was mediocre. Drinks took forever and when we asked our waitress as she was serving drinks to another table that was seated after us, she said bartender was on the phone. Two other tables were served their appies before we got ours and they were seated after us. Only saving grace was food was good. Wouldn't eat there again as found it very overpriced for what you got.
Great staff, food and ambience but prices up nearly 50% As a family we are looking for easy food and good prices. Food was really good (though small portions for fish and chips) and kids loved the brewhouse. However adult prices have risen nearly 50% since original menus were posted (I updated) so no longer a good 'value' bar food option, but still a great restaurant meal.
Hey peeps! If you are ever in the Cranbook area The Heidout & Fisher Peak Brewing is a MUST stop! Two page Gluten Free menu, dedicated fryer and the menu includes dessert! Great service and great food!
We've had excellent meals and service here, and last Sunday was the best of all. I brought my 92-year-old mother for a birthday lunch, and our waiter Craig made the event a complete success. He was thoughtful and considerate, checking with us to know when we were ready for him to bring out each course. We're pretty slow eaters, and we didn't feel rushed, on the contrary we felt very well taken care of! He capped off the lunch by bringing Mum's desert with a sparkler, and then made it complimentary! I believe that good consistent food and service is a sign of good management - thank you Craig and the Heid Out!
Awesome food & service & setting---- these folks work very hard & successfully at creating a fabulous customer experience.
Pleasantly surprised! Came to Cranbrook for Sushi and it was closed, so we ended up at the Heid Out. I'm now glad the sushi placed was closed. The food was amazing. Service was excellent. The beer was fantastic. Will definitely be back!
Enjoyed my 75th Birthday dinner very much. I was with my brother, sister in law and my great niece. It was a great experience and will go again.
Food was great. Service was awesome.
Dine in
Awesome bar tender makes the best chocolate Martinies
Wonderful food and service! We always end up here in a large group and staff are super accommodating to the nature of a large party with separate bills, shared items, many different orders. Food is great quality, never disappoints! Great names (and tastes) to their craft beers!
Love this place! Been a number of times and had them cater our wedding! Very attentive and courteous staff. Highly recommend!????
The Heid Out catered our small wedding this summer and we couldn't have been happier with our experience! The food was delicious. Thank you Rusty and the Heid Out team for being part of our special day!
The Heid Out seems to have landed at the resting on its laurels stage of existence. I revisited The Heid Out in Cranbrook last week (3 years since my first visit) and the food was utterly disappointing. I had the Fisher Peak Chicken and Brie sandwich and yam fries. It's a grilled chicken breast with Brie cheese, fig jam, arugula and greens, on a (possibly gluten free) ciabatta bun. It was dead bland. I swapped half with my dining partner who agreed: "very bland". The J2 Ranch Vision Burger was more edible, but not much better. The yam fries were middling. They do have good selection of beers by their Fisher Peak brand, and the seasonal "Hell Roaring Scottish Ale" was good beer, but if I were to return it wouldn't be to eat here; just to have a drink. The food was not worth it.
Modern and spacious. Diverse menu. Superb food. Also the beer is very good. We had a great evening here
Really nice food and loved the Kombucha beer combo. As it got busy it also very warm in the restaurant. The service was excellent.
My husband had the bison burger which was very good; the burger was very big and had a lot of fillings and it was messy to eat but worth it. I had the green pea soup which was excellent. I've ordered the Cesear salad but didn't realize it came with bacon and the dressing was too rich. The onion rings were mediocre. The atmosphere was great with a great patio for warm weather. Thanks.
Fantastic beer and atmosphere. Ranks #2 on our 10 brewery stop. Gisele and the staff are Fantastic! Even took the the time to suggest a few stops on our trip. We did not eat but the food looked and smelled Fantastic.
I must compliment Heidi she has done a phenomenal job with The hideout and my compliments to the chef he has done a phenomenal job too the fish and chips that me and my mom had was one of the best I would have to say a little bit better than the last fish and chip truck and I loved their lemon and caper aioli that was literally to die for and Heidi and and to the whole staff at The hideout keep up the phenomenal great job you guys are awesome
I've eaten there on several occasions. I love the food i love the staff haven't tried their beer yet. But they do have a great selection of wines tho. Not to mention 19 new items on there menu. U gotta eat thete
This restaurant came recommended by some local girls in Cranbrook and they were right. My family enjoyed a good healthy lunch with great service. The kids were well taken care of as well!
Great food, original selections with old favorites.
I am re-reviewing this restaurant. I originally looked at it through rose-coloured glasses, but now I gotta say the following (I'm a huge foody, with plenty of money, and am very generous when it comes to restaurants) : The pretention from their reputation, their micro-brew hipster elitism, and their location has culminated into greedy mark-ups that are simply insulting. I'm okay with overpaying for ingredients obviously in the culinary world but some of this is ridiculous; a chipless, meatless nacho dish whose (I've done the math) 5-6 ingredients costing about 6.75, selling for $30. A steak which is not even Cranbrook top 5 in preperation and barely top 3 in cut and size retailing for $50!? So, in conclusion, the stars of the menu are the starters anyway, so treat it as an extremely over-priced american pub (Its a micro-brewery trying to have rare ahi and roasted duck ffs) with great atmosphere, location, and staff. Just know, the food is extremely mediocre for fine-dining prices
Disappointing. The service was super painfully slow. Our food was cold twice. They comped us 50% and the bill was still over $150. Great beer but don’t eat there.
One of my favorite restaurants to visit. It has a great environment if you want to meet with colleagues or friends and the food is superb and fresh. There's also a great selection of craft beer to choose from.
Food & service were excellent
Service was professional and the food was good quality. As were the brews. Would definitely recommend. Thank you for the lovely dinner. PS they are dog friendly ???? :)
