The Skimmerhorn has some great wines, the Devil's Chair and Old Koot are 2 of the ones I enjoy. They use to offer some great meals but now offer tapas, although I have not tried the latter they do look appetizing and designed to be enjoyed with their wine selection.
Very poor customer service. Was here a couple of years ago and service was phenomenal. Not sure what changed but whoever was behind the wine counter today should take a customer service course. Being friendly doesn’t cost anything. Love the wine but not sure we’ll be back.
Great patio with nice views. Charcuterie lunch plate, accompanied with excellent wine made for an awesome experience.
Food, wine, and service added together for a delectable experience. Sweet wines and a savoury meal, followed by a fantastic dessert combination. Highly recommend.
over priced, under serviced.
Really like this tasting room! Very personable people and the wine was delicious! Got the Rosé for our anniversary wine
Amazing little spot in Creston overlooking the vineyard. You can sample some wines before you eat to find the right pairings for your meal. The charcuterie board paired with their Rose is a perfect summertime lunch snack. Very helpful knowledgeable staff and wait staff. Thank you for a wonderful lunch!
(Translated) Very nice location. Great wines, nice tasting! (Original) Sehr schön gelegen. Tolle Weine, nette Verkostung!
Our family went this winery today, I have no impression at all this place, unfriendly, no professional services. I checked this place with google reviews so we went there but my thumb should be down. No recommendations.
The view at this winery is amazing! Great for photos. I don't drink so can't comment on the wine. The salad with Butternut squash was delicious.
Fantastic wine and amazing food!
Wine tasting was great. Young lady was helpful and knowledgeable. We had lunch there and the food was excellent. Lounging on the patio is a great way to spend an afternoon!
We had a glorious, lazy afternoon on the patio at Skimmerhorn Winery. Wine was fantastic. Food was incredible. The coffee was delicious. We would love to come here again. And again. And again.
Loved it
Amazing view from the shaded deck, overlooks vineyards, orchards, mountains. Food, wine, service was excellent. Can't wait to go again.
Staff are so so friendly! The wine is absolutely delicious! I adore the Pinot gris!
Great atmosphere. Love the large outdoor patio and trees overlooking the vineyard. Food was very good.
Always a go to when we visit Creston, delicious food and wine. Usually we have a very knowledgeable server , but this last time was a younger girl who didnt seem to know what was going on, messing up our order and was kinda rude. We would have stayed longer and spent alot more $$ but were rushed out, told her we werent done and she walked away and never came back to the table. Disappointed this time , which is unfortunate as we go to Creston only once a year.
Beautiful winery. Great variety of wine. Friendly staff. Very relaxing place for a good glass of wine.
Wonderful place with friendly knowledgeable staff and the view from the deck is breathtaking !
Accommodating people is terrible here. We came with my small family 3 times in July and August. 2 times out of 3 cancelled due to different reasons. Manager is not treating customers with a good sense of time .and they don’t have enough tables too. Food and drinks are great though. But no guarantee for “a table” whatsoever. Even after 1 hr waiting time in the middle of week. Forget about a table in the weekend. Or maybe you will get after 2 hrs. NO guarantee!!
Food, wine, and service added together for a delectable experience. Sweet wines and a savoury meal, followed by a fantastic dessert combination. Highly recommend.
Amazing views with even more amazing food and wine!
Fantastic wine, great service, and beautiful scenery...only disappointment was stairs to the tasting room and no high chairs for the dining area, I came with my toddler in a steoller and couldn't stay but I'll definitely be back one day, kid free.
Good food little pricey I don’t like wine was too sweet
So delicious! Their sangria is amazing and no matter what you choose on the menu it is worth ordering. My favourite is always the fresh made feta. It's a must try!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Absolutely beautiful location, conjuring Germany or Austria. High quality, superior value wines. Highly recommended.
This is a hidden gem. Great food. Great wine. Views are stunning
It's a very beautiful place!
Food was awesome very good
Loved it
Absolutely lovely winery!! Their patio is dog friendly so we were super happy that my dogs were allowed to join us there for some wine tasting. They even brought out a bowl of water for them. Great wine too!!!
The food is absolutely amazing, and very cheap for the quality provided!
Friendly and great wine!
Beautiful time.
My husband and I whent here for their winery tour on our honeymoon. The tour guide was amazing. He was friendly and gave us a lot of information on how they make their wine. After the tour we had lunch on their patio. The food and service was amazing. I will return the next time I am in the area and I definitely recommend going here for a visit.
Beautiful venue. Delicious food. Fabulous selection of wine. Delightful staff. They even allowed my dachschund on their patio. Doesn't get any better!
What a lovely place to visit in Creston! We were fortunate to have a sunny day so we could sit on the patio and enjoy a fall day. The view from the patio is lovely with rolling hills stretching south to the border and the fall colours just starting. We had a wine tasting one afternoon and came back the next day for lunch. Lunch is tapas style with several very tasty small plates. The menu was farm to table so you could experience what the surrounding farms could offer. White wines were very nice, no red wines available when we visited. Definitely a place to return to on our next visit.
Was here about 5 weeks ago with my husband and mother in-law. We were greeted with a very snobby attitude. First we asked for a wine menu which was dropped in our face and the lady instantly left. Then we asked about a table and were told with complete attitude “I highly doubt there is a table, try reserving next time” so we turned around and left. Will not return, do not recommend.
Food was amazing. Never dissapoints.
Lovely helpful young lady. I purchased the 2017 Ortega. A little sweeter than previous years but very nice. I also purchased a bottle of 2015 devils chair a very nice bold red.
Great food. Great people. Great wine
it's a lovely winery, and the staff are very friendly
Went to this winery for wine tasting but they did not have Gewt, rose or Pinot Gris so that was disappointing... tried some red wines but didn’t care for them....
The food was amazing. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. This is a treasure of the region. Not to be missed.
Beautiful patio, great wine especially for people who love sweeter white wine. The Pinot Noir was fabulous, and the Charcuterie board was great. Highly recommended. The view is breathtaking!
Great location, very good wines, friendly staff, and a good tapas restaurant on the patio overlooking the Creston valley. However, service in the restaurant was quite slow.
Disappointed that I couldn't do wine tasting after 2 promises I Thi k they forgot
Disappointed, did not feel welcome. Could only get a charcuterie plate as the Chef was backed up. My server was more concerned about her table of friends. Had a glass of three of their wine, ordinary. Tried to get dessert, nothing available. All this for $55.
DREAMY is the only word I have to describe this place. Started with a wine tasting with the nicest lady, followed by a delicious charcuterie and glass of wine in the most gorgeous of gardens. 10/10 such a fantastic girls far out!!
(Translated) Very good food from a great cook. The wine tasting wasn't bad either (Original) Sehr gutes Essen von einer tollen Köchin. Die Weinprobe war auch nicht schlecht
Food second to none, service was a little unorganized and certainly not welcoming compared to the enthusiastic friendly atmosphere at Billie Grohman vineyard.
Oh my goodness. ..I have to share our experience today with you at Skimmerhorn Winery...we arrived about 1.45 pm...there were four in our party..great friends from Manitoba...ot was smokey but the sun was shining brightly in the valley! Our waitress was friendly..knowledgeable regarding the Tapas and the wine . We had 2 bottles of wine.. the 2015 Devil's Chair paired with a great local Charcuterie Board of local meats and cheeses (we ordered two), a Beet salad, a grilled peach salad and pork schnitzel....all were wonderfu...beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. For dessert we had two chocolate (served all the time and made by the chef) creme with laleche and whipping cream & marigold garnish...all edible...and two Panna Ricotta...with raspberry coulis..to die for both desserts the 2015 Marechal Foch..was the perfect accompaniment An afternoon . to remember. ..great great friends...great deck. ..great views.....wonderful food. . Delicious wines...slow and relaxed. ..thank you so much..
Great wine food and service. Recommend
Food excellent. Wine excellent. Plan to be there a couple of hours as this is a unique little bistro not a fast food joint.
The wine is delicious, their food is incredible and their patio is stunning on a sunny day. A must see winery in Creston!
Sampled several items from the lunch menu. All very nicely done. Loved the gnocchi!
Go to the Bistro for tapas style lunch when the chef is there; Wednesday to Saturday. Everything was great, especially the chocolate pot de creme. Very pretty views and good service. The wine was good if you prefer a sweeter style white they have several fruit forward whites.
So delicious!! Wonderful food and wine!
Good wine , bad service I had the worst experince ever at this winery. I booked one week prior to my 20 years wedding anniversary; trusting that I would be hosted with that in mind. The service was not good at all; the table provided was in front of the busy entrance door; and at the same time several other tables were available and i was told we could not move. Yet? I witnessed guests, one after another being seated at the additional tables. I have travelled accross USA , Canada and europe to many wineries and this by far was the most disappointing. Sometimes a good wine becomes a bad taste in ones mouth once the service that goes along with it is not cool. I hope that the owner recognizes that putting unexpierenced non caring hosts will eventually cost him business .
In addition to the NO Tastings sign, was greeted by a rude "did you sign in "please"!! "Do you have a reservation "? "We have one table left on the patio". Why service the customer?????? 3 glasses of wine for $31.05, offer the less expensive entire bottle next time please. Underserviced and overpaid/higher priced. How NOT to service the paying customer????????????.
Totally enjoyed and I'm a beer drinker.
Great food, great service. Oh yeah, wines are very tasty as well. Very much worth visiting.
Great spot, awesome wine, beautiful people!!
Great wine, love the tapas style at the bistro and that we were able to have our wine tasting completed at our table ????
awesome food, service, and ambiance highly reccomend...taya service was amazing
