Great whites
Wines are top notch all the way. One of the best syrah in the valley
It was amazing, with beautiful scenery
I love the modern design of the building and I enjoy something a little different than the Naramata Bench. They mostly serve red wine which is not my favorite but the others in my group thoroughly enjoyed the wine. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.
Amazing wine, exceeded my expectations, I truly underestimated a wine from Canada.. Watch out world. Marcus
Painted Rock is great, with a beautiful tasting room and beautiful vineyards. Most importantly, their wines are consistently fantastic. I loved everything I had. Not cheap but amazingly good.
Our daughter got married last weekend at Painted Rock. It is a world class top notch venue. We just wanted to say thank you so much to Lora for everything she did to prepare us for Chloe & Scott’s wedding. The kids were just commenting on how nice everyone was, how top notch the winery is and of course how magical the wedding turned out. Thank you so much Lora for keeping us calm, You are perfect in your wedding coordinator role and will continue with great success! Thank you for making the wedding beyond all our expectations. It is definitely one for the Pinterest board! Cheers, Linda, Ken, Chloe & Scott
Walked in and waited patiently, no one looked at me or even said they would be right with me. Big wine fan and would have loved to try what they make, but walked out and will never look at this wine again. Plenty of others out there. Would rate half a star if I could.
Beautiful views and scenery, hard to beat the gorgeous water and mountains. My friend and I loved the view and chill vibes of the outdoor space which really made the experience for us. Our tasting was lackluster at best, the hostess changed part way through and neither seemed very engaged. It seemed a bit rushed and impersonal. We have been wine touring for 2 days now and it was the least involved tasting. We expected far more from the wine experience. There is some benefit to this winery in that you may bring you own food/snacks to enjoy while you drink a glass/bottle of their wine on the amazing grounds. We lucked out with limited smoke today and it was fairly clear. We are 50/50 on if we will return .
Very modern "we have money" design. Not my kind of vibe but maybe some will like it. Not too happy about $10 to sample 4 wines (reimbursed if you buy something). Pricey.
Great location and amazing looking tasting room. Very pricey wine considering all the other comparable quality wineries in the area. 10 dollar tasting fee per person is just over the top.
The wine was excellent, but the service wasn't great. We only had 3 out of the 4 wines even though we paid for it. The server wouldn't give us the last tasting wine because we were 10 minutes late. (We called to let them know and was very apologetic) I would recommend buying their wine, but do not expect them to treat you well at the tasting room. UPDATE: The manager and owner of Painted Rock Winery reached out to our group to apologized. They invited us back to their patio with complementary goodies, however we had already left Penticton. Because we couldn't join them on their patio, they mailed us a bottle of their 2019 Chardonnay. Although we weren't treated well at the winery by one of their staff, the manager and owner took every actions to rectify their mistake. We are very pleased at how they dealt with this situation, and we can't wait to dig in to their tasty Chardonnay! Thanks!
Great wine, highly rated and priced accordingly. One of the few wines in the Okanagan that are worth their value. The red Icon is age worthy. I aged it for five years and it was a great hit at our Christmas dinner.
We booked Painted Rock as our Venue for our wedding and couldn't be happier with the way things turned out! Book early though - we booked as soon as the window opened up and it was full for the month a few hours later. Lora, our event coordinator, was friendly and professional and helped make our planning process as smooth as possible. In particular, she made accommodations for a traditional tea ceremony, and staged a beautiful area for us to do this. On the day of, the entire team was wonderful, professional, and accommodating. No hiccups at all! We even got a little ATV ride to the vineyards for some great photos on the bluffs. The setting is modern, but can be wonderfully paired with a more rustic decor if you chose. Everything from the bar area to the outside tents are absolutely top notch - we found there to be a perfect amount of inside/outside/covered areas where you can get reprieve from the sun, heat, and (heaven forbid) rain. One consideration to make is that there is a limited amount of washrooms - there is one single occupancy bathroom for the men, and two stalls inside the ladies. If you are maximizing the capacity, it may be worth considering bringing in portables. But back to the setting... the colours you get as the sun sets throughout the night is just BREATHTAKING! And of course the wine is pretty good here too! Their Chardonnay is a favourite of ours, and the reds are absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommend, and we would definitely book again for an event. Thanks Painted Rock!
Amazing venue, yummy wine tasting.
This is one of my "must" stop at wineries. Consistently great wines year after year. Super fond of their Chardonnay. Their Syrah is one of the spiciest, boldly tannic Syrah's in the Okanagan Valley. The great view from one of the classiest tasting rooms that I've been in is icing on the cake.
High quality red wine. Plus we had lunch and it was brought in from The Bench Market. That may be the highest quality cafe in Penticton and beyond. Calming expansive views and nice grounds. A great experience, especially if you appreciate red wines.
Really great red wine. Owner is super friendly. (staff too) Very much get the feel that this place loves wine, and loves experiencing it with their customers. Their Icon is their flagship for a reason and when asked to barrel taste the upcoming release, was paraded back to the barrels for a taste!
The wine was, as always, gorgeous but the reason why this winery deserves 5 stars is the hospitality. The staff not only knows Painted Rock's wine but the staff clearly takes the time to learn about wine in a higher level (WSET). Additionally, I visited with someone who has low mobility and not only did Angela organize a perfect view with chairs that were accessible but she also helped us walking in and walking out. She even opened the door to our truck! Above and beyond hospitality, we can't wait to visit again.
Nice modern ambience. Wine was not good at all. Pricey. 10$ tasting fee for 4 wines. The outdoor patio was lovely
Not sure how anything less than five stars could arise in a google review of this place - might be jealous competitors LoL! Quite possibly the most beautiful siting for a tasting room ever built. If that doesn’t blow you away the wines will. Their investment in quality is evident when the wines are sampled. Book a tasting and join their wine club. Painted Rock successfully delivers to every type of customer, from the connoisseur to the person who is just getting into wine. They make everyone feel welcome. A definite MUST for everyone visiting Penticton. 10/10.
Wine was good probably not our favorite of the Okanagan Falls region but the view is amazing from the patio.
First class winery and tasting experience!
Beautiful location, wine and staff.
A winery that is ultra modern with a great view. But, the place is so modern as to be sterile and cold. It would be easy to mistake the tasting room for a chic club in New York or London. Wine was good but just could not get into the ambiance. Friendly staff.
The best winery so far!!!
Classy and elegant winery. Beautiful and sleek wine tasting area with a lovely patio outside to enjoy the view from!
Do not save this winery for last. At 5:30 sharp they will kick you out, even if you bought a bottle of wine or you haven’t finished the glass of wine you paid for.
Beautiful location overlooking the lake, awesome place to host a wedding.
A beautiful extremely bright building...friendly staff...decent over priced wines...ridiculously high tasting fee. At $10...I wont return.
We always receive a wonderful welcome and feel like VIP'S when we come for wine and food. Our favorite winery in all of the Okanagan. Can't wait to come back again and again each summer. ????
The highest quality we tasted in the Okanagan valley (over 11 wineries). The service was professional yet a little cold; I would have enjoyed more explanations about the process, the vines and the notes. If you are looking for Bordeaux style red wines that can age for 15-20 years, make sure to book a tasting. This also means more expensive wines. The view is beautiful, plan to hang around if you have time.
4 and a half stars. This Winery is super modern, very polished. Their picnic sandwiches were quite nice, the cheese was awesome, and my favourite sandwich was the turkey avocado. My girlfriend got the chicken sandwich and there was too much cinnamon apple in it for my taste, borderline felt like I was eating an apple pie in some bites. If that's your thing it's still not bad it had some nice blue cheese in there but the turkey one was not dry and quite nice in my opinion.. Also this place only has red wines and my girlfriend prefers more sweet and fruity wines so I just took over the tasting for two haha. They had 1 type of local IPA as well That they don't advertise online or on a menu and also a cider in case if you end up wanting something other than wine. I personally preferred the 2015 Merlot and the 2016 Red Icon. They had more of a deep dark chocolatey smooth feel. The 2016 Merlot and the Syrah were both more acidic feeling and fruity. However many people I know actually find the Syrah to be their favourite so maybe it just didn't meet my expectations. Would definitely come back again. Best believe it.
Very fancy looking winery! Very clean layout! The Red Icon red was probably my favorite
all the wineries that I have visited in the Okanagan , this one has to be the worst service because the staff all so stuck up and arrogant. I just left and did not want to buy anything.... I DO NOT recommend this winery to anyone.
Lovely tasting & charcuterie experience.
Great whites
The best Malbec, bar none...
The tasting room at Painted Rock is located on some prime land looking out over their vineyard down the Skaha lake. It would be a fantastic view on a clear (non smoky) day. The building is very contemporary and opens wide up into a patio and grassy courtyard. I found all their wines to be very good. I think their Chardonnay was one of the best I have had within the entire valley. They are dog friendly and allow the dogs to be outside on the patio/courtyard. Definitely check out the Painted Rock vinery.
Our sommelier Alison was amazing! She was a lot of fun and very engaging in not only the wine but the history of estate. Before Painted Rock I primarily drank whites but the reds here are amazing. The view from the estate was beautiful and the atmosphere is very elegant.
We very recently had our wedding at Painted Rock Winery and I can’t say enough about how perfect everything turned out. The venue was spectacular, the wine was perfect, and the staff was extremely helpful in making our day the best day ever. We would highly recommend choosing this as your wedding venue! We would not have changed a thing about our day and will remember it forever.
A very fancy wine tasting room offering a $5 wine tasting per person. The wine is tasty and a bit more on the expensive side. Beautiful views. Worth checking out!
Good ambience, tasteful wine, great service. Try the carbanet franc and the red icon if it's available. Ask for the backstory of their Estate name too if you want to enjoy a little bit more than the wine :)
Love being a part of any event at painted rock winery... and not to forget, there wine is second to none!
Consistent, Fabulous wines. Great view. A bit pricey... but a must buy. The Rose is the best in the Okanagan but second to their Syrah. Yummy!
Fantastic wines to taste and then enjoy a picnic overlooking Skaha Lake. Thank you for the exceptional hospitality! #worldclass
Painted Rock is the best there is!
Beautiful winery. Never ceases to amaze on every visit. Stunning wines, stunning views and outstanding staff. They’re doing an exceptional job with the Covid protocols to make sure we’re all safe. Highly recommend to make a reservation and be kind.
We didn't like the wines, but tastes differ. The place is nice overall.
Beautiful setting and delicious wines!
Very friendly staff and owner ! Was great getting a tour to see what produces those delicious wines!
I'm not one to leave a review unless my experience was exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. This experience was absolutely wonderful! We have been to several wine tastings now and this was by far my favorite. The grounds are beautiful, the wine is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The owner, John, even came out to answer all our many questions. He did so with a smile on his face and a clear passion for what he does. If I could I would give this experience six stars!
I would rent a space in the warehouse if I could.
Relaxing atmosphere and great wine!
Red Icon is iconic.
Always have a great time there.... Very good wine y nice people...
Beautiful location but a bit sterile and aloof. Least friendliest of the wineries we visited.
We saved this winery for last. My friends on this trip had nothing but great things to say about their last experience here. However, that was not the case this time around. I can appreciate that it was busy when we arrived. But the service was absolutely terrible, and by service I mean lack thereof. When we finally were able to get a spot for the tasting, the guy behind the counter completely ignored us. He was right in front of us and did not even acknowledge our existence. He was unpacking boxes of wine, cleaning up, not even a "hey guys I'll be right with you". Then he goes to the party next to us (who were already being helped by another woman) and starts asking them how they enjoy the wine! It was beyond rude. I have worked in the service industry for many years, I would never let a person walk into my bar (no matter how busy I am) and not acknowledge them and let them know I will be right with them. Needless to say, we did not stay and have a tasting. It was bizarre! And not that it matters, but we were all dressed well, we're all in our mid 30's and we were not in any way intoxicated being loud and obnoxious. I would have gave this experience 0 stars if i could.
Great wine (& rosé...if you can get your hands on it...) and awesome winery. The staff at the tasting room went above and beyond to make sure my friends and I had a memorable experience. Also, don't get me started about the rosé... I'm ordinarily not a huge fan and I walked out with half a case. Can't wait to go back!
Great winery and awesome wine! Even though we came with no reservations the host was nice and cooperative and found out how to accommodate us and we really enjoyed the tasting.
Tried to buy a bottle of wine after a tasting and they refused to sell it to me unless I opened it there and had a glas first, then I could take the rest to go. Ridiculous and terrible service.
Some of the best wine in the valley. Absolutely beautiful facility, friendly staff, and better wine.
Fantastic wines and a beautiful property. Sitting and sipping while enjoying the view is an experience not to be missed!
Great wine, beautiful view, is a favorite.
Great red wines. Friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. The view was not fully visible due to forest fire smoke but I’m sure it would be great on a clear day.
One of our many favourite wineries in south Okanagan. Love their Reds and a great Chardonnay!
Very posh atmosphere and I was worried it was too high end for us. We didn't have a reservation, but the staff fit us in as it wasn't that busy. The wines were good in the tasting, a bit too bold for our taste, especially given the prices. I would give 4 stars based on price alone, but the lady that served us was very nice and made the experience very enjoyable. Also the patio views and grounds were very nice. We didn't purchase the wine as we prefer more lighter wines based on the sampling provided, but if you are into bold red wines, I think many people would really enjoy this place, atmosphere and staff.
Good wine
This is a very beautiful winery with amazing Okanagan wines.
