Had a great afternoon sipping some of their wine and enjoying the cheese and apple platter. The live jazz music was lovely and the free range chickens added a nice touch. The Cab- Merlot was a little pricy for a winery at $28 a bottle but it was very good. Would definitely recommend Millstone Estates Winery!

I tried to visit this place but was chased off my large dogs. I'm not sure if they were the owners or a guest but as I was on foot I didn't stick around to find out.

We would not recommend Millstone for wine tasting! We arrived at the winery and it looked closed despite the opening hours listed saying it was open. We specifically visited to do a wine tasting and were charged $10 for a dribble of each wine. Only after we started were we informed only 3 wines were available at the time. For the price paid we would expect a considerably larger tasting or a discounted price for the limited number of wines. The person who we did the tasting with seemed to be reading the description of the wines off the bottle and didn't really seem to know much about them at all.

Excellent wines, amazing customer service. Having a local winery of this caliber is so great! I highly recommend trying the Ortega and Pino Gris!

Terrible experience. We showed up and while the vineyard was open (two tables enjoying wine outside), there were no staff anywhere. We called the phone number listed on Google -- no answer -- and rang their doorbell repeatedly. After 10 minutes of waiting, we ditched this ghost town. We left and went to a local brewery. Much better!

Showed up for a tasting just before 4 and got told that we couldn't do one because the owner had somewhere else to be, despite being open until 5. Bought a bottle of Pinot Noir instead, and it's without a doubt one of the worst wines I've ever had... Exceptionally sour. Definitely not worth the visit or the purchase!

This was our second visit to the winery and we were very much looking forward to it. The server wasn't very knowledgeable. We realized when we got home, we were overcharged for a bottle of wine, and when I tried to call them I couldn't reach anyone. The rating is for overall experience, which was not great. We were chased by dogs, and the place was not clean at all.

The host was amazing! Informative and really friendly! They had a fire burning, it was an amazing view. Quite and tranquil. Sitting on the deck watching the hawks sore in the distance. If in the area and like wine ???? I don't think will be disappointed at all stopping here!

A beautiful winery with wonderful people and animals. We came by when it was closed, whoops - but the owner still came rushing out to greet us and he opened up the wine tasting room and shop for us! We really appreciated it since we came all the way from Vancouver. I would still recommend following the store hours or calling them, we were super lucky that they were home when we came by - the owners live on-site. The wine was unique and it was explained well along with what food pairings would go great with each wine. We walked out with three bottles, yum! I will definitely be coming back to visit. They have chickens and three dogs who roam around the house who are all harmless - this place is children friendly, Daisy the golden lab can keep them busy (friendliest and most affection dog I've ever met). If you're in the Nanaimo area, I would definitely put this on your list of things to see & do!

Charged us 5 dollars per person for tester, only when they had two wines for testing. Was a bit of a rip off.
