Here you will see all the reviews of real people who know the services of Isla de Lerena Vineyard (Winery) near to the area of Courtenay (Canada).
Currently this business receives a rating of 4.2 out of 5 and the score was based on 42 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is very good, and it is based on a very high number of scores, so we may say that the rating is very reliable. If people have bothered to evaluate when they are happy with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set scores when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Winery belongs to the category of Winery.
Wonderful place! Great wine, in a very cute winery. We had a lunch that we had bought elsewhere and the owner suggested we could sit there and have a lovely picnic and he would supply us with wine and glasses so we could take in the view and the sunshine. Super enjoyable!
We enjoyed the quiet and the glamping units are very comfortable. The smell from the composting toilets was really bad, though, and we smelled it all the way to our camping spot. Maybe this is just because it is the end of summer and the toilets have been used a lot. The price was a bit overrated for what Lerena has to offer.
A vineyard with glamping experience. We stayed for a weekend on one of their glamping tents, and we found it a very nice experience. FOOD: Free Breakfast(might need some variation on the menu especially if guests are staying longer) PRICE: location, amenities and experience is good for it's price. STAFF: Friendly and accomodating. (There should be an exact place to go to if guests are checking in. As guests come with reservations, it would be better if you don't let us wait for other guests just to save you time for the 'orientation' stuff, we've been through some ferry ride and want to setup too) LOCATION: Tents in the forest. No views of the sea. A good 10-15minute drive to Tribune Bay Beach. A good place for wine lovers, free music on weekends. (Check schedule) RECOMMENDATION: We ended up not using the fire pit as our propane cylinder(small) does not fit to it. Asked for propane tank and will be charged way too much. I hope you provide adaptors for those who bring small propane cylinders.
We had such a nice experience at this winery. Kaleeka served us and she was really sweet and knowledgeable. Thanks!
The employee working the winery this afternoon was a DELIGHT. She did a great job communicating with all the customers and we felt well taken care of. We sampled many wine varieties and I went home with a number of bottles. I'll be back!
Fantastic. Absolutely the greatest!!
This Glamping experience was a disappointment (high on promise, low on delivery). As a life long camper, the marginal gain of a more permanent structure instead of a tent wasn't worth the hefty premium. Bathroom odurs wafted around the property, shower rooms were almost always dirty, warm water worked less than 50% of the time and many structures were haphazardly built and in a state of disrepair. Not to mention the complimentary breakfast was unexpectedly discontinued and they offered no adjustment in rate. I don't regularly post reviews and desire less to post negatives reviews, but need to communicate this to someone. Hornby is an awesome islands to visit and we still had a great time.
Great place for wine tasting with The Hornby Island Bakery and Pizzeria attached. This vineyard also provides services for "glamping", which is upscale camping in canvas tents complete with beds and onsite washrooms with flush toilet and hot water shower. Shampoo was not provided and bring your own lighting if you want to shower at night. If the tents are not your thing, they also have one camping trailer available for rent. Continental breakfast is complementary with your glamping stay. The staff are friendly but get your pizza order in early as the pizzeria can get overrun with demand.
Beautiful place. I really liked the fountain.
Stopped for wine and music this past weekend, as it seemed like a lovely combo. We were a party of 3, younger folks. Not sure if the gentleman at the front was having an off-day, but service was not very inviting, nor did we feel welcomed. The crowd was mostly older, and so we weren't sure if that was it. Coming from the cidery down the road, we were a bit let down with our experience and quickly left after a glass of wine. We purchased a bottle of the Orange Pinot Gris- pretty good. Perhaps we'll try again in the future when we're back on the island.
The new chef is working out great by the looks of it. We had the brisket which was devine, roasted new potatoes, and fresh veggies. The wine was good, too. As things progress more and more post-covid, they should be able to streamline the table service. Probably the best place to eat on Hornby right now.
We stayed (2 adults and 2 children) in the glamping tent with a washroom. The tent offered a comfortable space for the family and appreciated the access to electricity. It is located in a quiet part of the island and it offered a nice downtime before/after swimming. However, I am afraid we are not coming back. - lack of communication - upon arrival, we were told that the continental breakfast was discontinued because it's September now. Their website or reservation confirmation did not mention anything about the breakfast service ending at the end of August. Our daily rates were the same as July and August. Also, when we saw the shower room was extremely dirty (someone's wet towel still hanging), we phoned to have it cleaned. Unfortunately, it did not get cleaned all day and the next day. I don't know if they are having staffing issues, but I wished they made more efforts to keep the shower house clean, especially during the pandemic. - smell - the compost toilet was very smelly. Not a pleasant experience when you eat meals outside your tent. - poor shower facilities - one of the two shower rooms had proper hooks and a counter to leave our stuff while we showered, but that shower's water temperature was very low and it was very close to a cold shower. The other shower room was small without hooks or counter space, so it is impossible to use with little ones. Besides, both shower heads were installed too high for average height people and you need to be touching the wall to get the water on your body. The winery was lovely, so I recommend anyone to visit for wine tasting.
I enjoyed my experience here. The vineyard is well tended to and the parking is easy. The tasting room is well done and staff are knowledgeable and helpful in suggestions. Is a growing business and is working hard to produce good wines.
Friendly service and excellent eine
Burnt pizza and mediocre wine. I did not have a good experience. ????
stumbled upon this and was really excited., however when I called up to get more information the gentleman definitely sounded like he had better things to do then talk to someone who's giving them business. The call ended with him telling me to to look up the availability myself on the site, rather than supporting us. If that's their standard for basic customer service, we definitely want look elsewhere.
There's a new restaurant building in the vineyard that serves nicely made pizza! We liked the outdoor wraparound patio. We were impressed with the pizza, though that is the only thing on the menu, so not celiac friendly if that's a thing. They've only been open a month, so I'm sure they will expand their menu a little, it would be nice to see at least a side salad. Lots of parking, very accessible. Vineyard has live music on occasion! A good start, a great contender for other pizza makers on the island- lots of potential for success!
the best pinot gris i have ever tasted!!! delivered a case of wine to ladysmith from hornby, no charge, no questions, stellar stellar service, buisness , and class if u ask me!!!
Great Pizza. Friendly staff and no waiting. Definitely can recommend this place .Best pizza on Hornby since Cardboard house closed
Wonderful wines, very knowledgeable staff.
We stopped here while we were exploring Hornby Island and we were so glad we did. The vineyard was beautiful and we were able to do a tasting of all the delicious wines that were available. We ended up having a great time and can't wait to go back next time we're on Hornby!
Nice place and good wine.
New for Lerena Vineyard ..... A wood Fired Pizza Coming March 2020
We went to this Vineyard for dinner last night. The food was amazing, the staff were friendly and attentive and the white blend wine was delicious and so reasonably priced! Altogether a beautiful experience! Thank you for a lovely evening!
Great ambiance! Great local food! Great wine!
Beaut location and tasty wines. Great up and coming winery. Didn't have any reviews so we were wary but so glad we stopped by. Beautiful scenery, genuine people, great service and great location very close to ferry.
The pizza was great (while it lasted). Unfortunately your lack of summer menu (burgers with potato salad for $21) will keep me away. You should bring back the pizza! Potato salad is disgusting and so is $21 for a burger.
We stopped by even though they were not open! Lovely location and the wine us excellent! Bought a Meritage and a Gewurst - yum
We stayed in one of the glamping tents for four nights at the end of July 2021. The tents are very nice, comfortable and spacious. Our tent was a two room with pull out couch and a double bed as well as a tiny two piece washroom. The bed and linens were incredibly comfortable (comparable to some of the better hotel chains) and we had the best sleeps there, only waking up to hear an owl nearby. I appreciated the cleanliness of the tent as well as the shower facilities. All staff that we encountered were helpful and very kind. Our tent had a Keurig coffee maker and continental breakfast (croissants, fruit salad, assorted cheeses) was delivered every morning however after the 2nd morning would have liked perhaps another option for pastry or some variety in breakfast offerings. Or alternatively, if you are staying a few days I would recommend bringing a camp stove and cooking a hot breakfast. The winery itself is lovely and unfortunately we didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant but keep in mind its open from Wednesday - Saturday only. The wine room samples some very impressive wines, including a really nice rosé and a crisp orange wine. I forgot to mention that we received a 1/2 bottle of their red wine as part of our glamping reservation, which was also excellent. The facility is quiet (except for one noisy family but that's the luck of the draw with camping but generally this is not a party type camping experience its more for couples and families), the winery has an outdoor seating area that closes early enough that it doesn't impose on your peaceful evening. All in all a really really memorable experience on Hornby Island.
