Great wine, great atmosphere

Went to the winery on the August long weekend, when we arrived a man who I believe may be the manager let us know to sit at a table and he will come down to us for table service. Ordered 2 glasses of wine which were lovely, however, we then were left sitting there for easily 40+ mins as he completely ignored us and chose to stay at the bar with a group of people and laugh and joke and pour them drinks. The girls working there were run off their feet and were clearly serving the outside areas and did a great job, while this male manager was supposed to be serving the inside bar. The man however was only interested in those doing a tasting and buying boxes of wine, blatantly ignored us even after the slight crowd left and we were the only people at a table other than the few sitting at the bar with him. At one point we were just going to walk out because i don't think he would have even noticed. When he eventually had to come over as his bar of people were leaving and there was no one else there but us he said we could have just came up to the bar and ordered even though when we arrived he said to sit at a table for service, when paying he automatically bypassed the tip option as it was extremely obvious the service was horrific. Easily the worst service we've had in the wineries in the area would not recommend nor return.

After a day of visiting a cidery and other wineries, a visit to Enrico left our group with a bit of a bad taste. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the location and environment. We sampled 5 wines, none of which presented any special characteristics. The bubbly (which we started off with) was perhaps the winner among the group, yet still not very exciting. Our server was friendly, but would disappear for quite some time between samples. Sure, it’s a busy place on a Saturday and others want to drink wine.. The disappointment came when (with empty glasses) we noticed the server behind the counter on her cell phone. It was a less-than-ideal way to finish off a fun day of tasting. All previous stops offered an interesting, informative and engaging visit. This, however, was not so..

I come to Enrico almost every weekend and I cannot sing its praises enough. The wine is exceptionally good and the prices are too, the staff is so knowledgeable and goes out of their way to make sure that everyone that visits the winery has the best experience possible. Lots of tasty bites to be had and on the weekends they feature live local (and talented!) musicians. It is truly is a magical place and is officially my happy place, thank-you to Lorin and Barb and all the gals for making Mike and I feel so at home every single time we come there. Follow them on Facebook as they also do musical events at night and they are amazing too. If you haven't been make sure to add it to your bucket list this summer, you will not regret it!

I’ve just received my parcel of six bottles today. I placed an order last December 8th and I received it on January 7th. I wanted the wine for Christmas/New Year, but..., it took way too long to get Vancouver. I can understand the delays for the holidays, but one month to delivery within BC? I’m going to keep those bottles for any other special day and I’ll enjoy it later for sure. I tried it last summer in one of my trips to the island, but I could not find any in Vancouver mainland. Anyway, wine is great and I really recommend it. Hope to visit the winery once this situation is gone :-)

Brought a limo wine tour into Enrico on Sunday, I called 20 minutes ahead and they were very accommodating. Live music in the open air lounge, and the bartender had the birthday girl saber the champagne bottle herself! We sang along, we danced, and drank the best Sangria ever. Definitely recommend this hidden gem and will place Enrico on my tour list to share with everyone!

A great place to stop and try some of Enrico's great selection of wine. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the wine and the friendly staff who served us. It is our favourite stop when we head up the Island and we always pick up a couple of bottles to enjoy at home.

Our wedding was on September 7th at Enrico Winery - here are some reviews, it was a lovely special day! Everyone had a great time, guests LOVE the venue & wine! Barrel room was beautiful photo turns out stunning. There’s a bridal room for ladies to get ready. The pond/fountain is beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better place, everyone that works there was so kind and so helpful. Wine was very tasty. We were able to take a lot of awesome photos around the grapes and the vineyard.

My family and I went on a wine tour for my 21st birthday. Out of the 4 vineyards we visited Enrico was the one that stood out. With a beautiful scenery and a welcoming vibe the staff at Enrico was informative and friendly. Our server Sarah was fanominal. Would absulutly recommend to anybody wanting to taste or just have a nice afternoon glass.

We always enjoy a visit to Enrico Winery. Enjoy a tasting of their wines (for a fee) and take home the logo’d glass. Sample either while sitting in the Tasting Room or outside on the deck. Purchase wine by the glass or bottle to enjoy on the patio, maybe with some charcuterie available for purchase. Live music, events & BBQ’s (either free or ticketed) throughout the summer. Yum!!! Very friendly staff and every wine we tasted was delicious. They were out of reds so we tried a bunch of different whites and I dont think there was a single wine i didnt like!! If you are traveling through the area and only have time for a couple wineries, I highly recommend this one!!

We spotted Enrico on the way to another winery and decided to come in and check it out. We were amazed at the experience. Our hostess was one of the best that we've had at any winery! We even got to meet one of the winemakers, which helped solidify this overall experience. The estate itself is beautiful. The wine and wine selection was also great.

What a gem! I had no idea this winery was so lovely until I attended a group tasting / social evening. Lorin (Enrico GM) was the ultimate host, giving us information on his grapes, their collaborations with expert grape seed scientists overseas as well as with the local wine making community, and the history of the Cowichan Valley’s VQA designation. The charcuterie boards were delicious, the wines were deserving of their gold medal designations (I certainly took home several bottles), and the evening sun on the patio was lovely after a day of rain. I can’t wait to go back.

Very busy - book ahead if you can. Big patio with great views, but there isn't much shade. Enjoyed the wine and some of the bottles are beautifully designed.

The value for the tasting was great. We tasted at least 6 wines and the glass was included. The staff were very friendly, and provided a brief and informative description of each wine on the tasting menu. Delicious flavours, lovely experience. Would return and highly recommend.

I have seen the signs for this winery many times on visits to Victoria, but never stopped for a tasting. Made the stop today and glad we did. Bought another case, but having it shipped to Calgary and no delivery charge. Really enjoyed the Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Rose.

My first experience of wine tasting outside France. Here you pay a very nominal sum, rather than free, with the result that there is no pressure to buy. Our party sampled 8 of the Enrico wines all lovingly presented and described. We also received homemade burgers and salad to accompany the reds. Passion shines through everything and they are very proud of their wines and the recognition they have received.

The driver of the enrico winery pick up truck nearly rear ended my car while my friend and I were trying to merge on the malahat. Honking your horn multiple times very loudly at someone to merge on the highway is super arrogant and not to mention dangerous. Not a very good representation of the winery. Beware of the older man driving the pick up truck, his road rage may drive you off the road.

Excellent wine. The Cabarnet Libre is particularly unique. Worth going when you’re on the island. Bring a picnic!
