Here you will see all the information of real people like you who purchase the services of Toqué! (Winery) in Côte-Saint-Luc (Canada).
At the moment the business has a score of 4.6 over 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is almost the best, and it's founded on a very high number of reviews, so we may think that the rating is quite credible. If many people have bothered to leave their score when they are happy with the service, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to write reviews when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Winery corresponds to the category of Québécois restaurant.
Everything was cooked perfectly, refined, and likely technically executed to perfection, but the flavors were lacking in something extra. There's also no synergy in the various elements of the plate; their textures or flavors don't come together in a single bite. Was disappointed with the desserts (we had bavarois and pudding au mélilot). Nice the look at, likely technically impressive, but very forgettable. The sweetness in the yogurt of the bavarois basically overpowered everything else in there. Service was impeccable as expected.
This place was wonderful in terms of their service. It was beyond expectations. They were extremely accommodating with our dietary - restriction (vegan and onion & garlic free), but for 150 dollar Food Tasting, I was expecting a bit more variety in terms dishes. The 7 dishes served was very tasteful and visual appealing.
Wow, just wow. This place was absolutely fantastic and everything we had here blew me out of the water. All of my friends and I had the seven course tasting menu, and each one was simply divine. From the Balsam Fir Foam adjoining the chilled clam at the start, to the last sip of my digestif, I was having a fantastic time. Our server, Kate, was very friendly and knowledgeable and made our visit all the more enjoyable. Additionally, I had the prestige wine pairing, seven glasses, and it was worth every cent! Every glass was suited to the course as if a lock and key, they enhanced every bite and turned a great dinner into a masterpiece. The sommelier could answer all questions and had lots of interesting information on each wine. Again, wow, I just can't wait to go back! (Well, maybe my wallet can)
Although you need deep pockets, it is worth every dollar. The tasting menu with wine pairings was sublime. Chef and owner Normand Laprise is brilliant.
Good meal, but a bit overpriced for what you get. Cocktails were sub par. Atmosphere is 10/10, so good for a date.
Went for the lunch table d'hôte And for the price the food was delicious. It was obviously not the level of their evening tasting menu, but for a lunch it was well worth the detoue. As for the service, it was solid, at the level you would expect for Toqué.
The lamb neck melts in your mouth... just delicious! the arctic char with yuzu gel, green onion and fried wakami is so refreshing. mmm. c'etait bon :) Wonderful lunch experience. warm and friendly staff. Thank you so much! We will be back! edit: 2nd visit I had the lobster with watermelon radish, asparagus, mushrooms, tomatoes. the lobster was cooked to perfection. thanks for another enjoyable lunch!
We had such a great experience. The waiters were VERY knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. They were really accommodating considering one of us had a cheese intolerance. They also offered a pretty romantic wine pairing : you can …
Tried the 7courses tasting menu at $136. All the dishes were nicely constructed but there wasn’t a dish that really made me amazed. The star of the meal was the high quality ingredients instead of the imagination of the chefs.
One of the best dinning experiences I have ever had. My date and I arrived for our reservation at 930 pm. The receptionist took our coats, and seated up. Server was wonderful and friendly. I ordered the vahalla cocktail which was amazing. Then the squash soup (best butternut squash soup ever) with mushrooms and egg. I had the halibut which was unreal. Soft, cream, shitake mushrooms. Didnt have room for desert but it left us full but not overly full. Worth very penny! Highly recommend for a special occasion.
Torque is elegant, the service is excellent, the food is good, but not the best we had in Montreal this weekend. This was a bit of a disappointment given the high expectations and the price. We tried foie gras, oysters, duck, steak, clover mousse, conoli.
Vegetables are so fresh Delicious food Good atmosphere Waitress warm welcoming smile Perfect meal
Outstanding dining! The tasting menu was superb and the service was attentive and prompt. Flavors were unique and interesting and even though your tasting menu is chef's choice, they do accommodate any preferences and restrictions you might have.
Excellent service. Food with wine pairing is very good but not the best.
Dinner, service and ambiance exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend Toque for anyone who appreciates fine dining and exceptional cuisine with attention to detail, for a special evening. :) Desserts we enjoyed were lemon cheesecake & …
One of the top restaurants in Canada and definitely earns that ranking. The tasting menu was fun and the service was incredible. They have the level of expertise you’d expect at a world class restaurant.
Came here for lunch and was not disappointed. Food was amazing and so was the service. Exactly what you would expect from one of Canada's best restaurants! This place deserves 5stars, no question. But it's not my favourite Montreal restaurant.
Great customer service would definitely recommend.
I went here with my wife for dinner. We had the 7 course Chef's tasting. The food was good but not great. The service we had was excellent. But for this price tag you can be picky. I thought the decor of the restaurant made it look like an old hotel. Again, I'm being picky.
The review is based on the tasting Menu. Service was excellent and the plates were well explained. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. However for taste did not follow the presentation it was not bad but neither amazing, but for that type of price you want to be amazed which was not the case unfortunately.
Nice selection of food. Love their foie gras dish!
Montreal's best restaurent? Montreal's best restaurant! Fantastic food, service and ambiance. Great wine parings too. No, it's not a feedbag, it's food borderline art — You pay a premium but it's a memorable experience.
Great service and attentive staff. I was at Toqué for the "Montréal à table" festival so maybe the quality of the food was different than usual. Food presentation was nice. I was disappointed that the bread was not warm but that's a detail. My deer carpaccio was okay. My Iceland cod was a bit overcooked in my opinion. However, the squash ice cream that accompanied the apple gelée dessert was to die for! The chocolate mousse was also delicious and that sour berry gave a zest to the taste experience.
Tasting menu was great. It does take a while though.
First visit to Montréal, then the seductive Old Montréal! We reserved pairing dinner at the Torque, my goodness, an exquisite dining experience, I found myself melted and blended in with the food and wine, must try!
Service was impeccable! Food was pretty good; the chef did a wonderfully good job putting together some nice flavours. We ordered: Foie Gras, Nordic Shrimp, and Suckling Pig Loin.
Amazing food! The waiter was incredibly helpful.
We celebrated our 10th year anniversary here and had really high expectations. From all the great reviews, and being ranked the #1 restaurant in all of Canada, they definitely had a lot to live up to. First lets get the great things off the table (so to speak...). The service was great and our server was always checking on us making sure each course was ok. The food was presented beautifully and precisely as you can see from the photos I attached. It was also delicious and balanced, but I have to say I have tasted better. They offered a tasting menu but it didn't include some of the dishes we also wanted to try. So we created our own, we chose a 9 course personalized tasting menu with oysters to start along with a champagne tasting. It ended up being more expensive, but at least we got to eat what we wanted to. So for the negative points, let me start by reiterating that I had extremely high expectations for this restaurant from everything I read online, as well as the price of the meal (it's definitely not cheap). Nothing extremely horrible happened with our meal or our experience. However, at this level of restaurant I expected the simplest things to be perfect, for example the oysters shells were not cleaned off. So when we went to eat them we were left with so much grit and shell fragments in our mouths, we had to clean our mouths out after each oyster. There was also one oyster that was not shucked off the shell where the muscle was still attached, so unfortunately it needed to be scraped by us. I know this is not the end of the world (first world problems) But it's not what I expected from a high end restaurant, when you're paying a pretty penny for an outstanding experience, these things should be perfect! All-in-all I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a beautiful culinary experience. I just wouldn't go in there with extremely high expectations if you've read all the food critic posts and restaurant ranking websites.
Wonderful lunch. Amazing food. Great service. Every piece of food I put in my mouth was a great bite. They thought of everything even down to their original espresso glasses. I don't know why I haven't been more frequently. Great business ambiance or a date. Cool decor and a trendy setting inside and out.
Came here for lunch and was not disappointed. Food was amazing and so was the service. Exactly what you would expect from one of Canada's best restaurants! This place deserves 5stars, no question. But it's not my favourite Montreal restaurant.First class food and impeccable service. Worth the time and money to the last penny. Don't miss it!Amazing experience and amazing staff! I would highly recommend this to anyone how loves food.
Mediocre for the price. Service was nice but not outstanding or friendly. I had a much better time at Joe Beef! The lamb rack was very fatty and the bread they have was terrible. Plating was nice though. Decor looks very dated.
Absolutely delicious! Product were mostly from Quebec and everything was tasty and fresh! I would definitely suggest to give it a try if you are hesitating! The service also exceeded our expectations!
My friends and I did the tasting menu here. We started with a wonderful champagne flight and amazing oysters served with apples which intrigued me when I saw the description. The service was top notch. Each time it just kept amazing me how they never missed a beat whether it was to pull out my chair when returning from the restroom or keeping my small water glass full which took a lot of effort with the amount I was drinking. It seemed like servers were not really assigned tables here so we dealt with most of them. All were great but who I would like to consider our main server was Eric and he was wonderful. I was also very impressed with the sommelier and when I mentioned that to Eric he told us that the sommelier’s name is Carl and had recently placed 26th for the world master sommelier. Carl was even gracious enough to show us the wine cellar. Each of our seven courses and wines were spectacular! My favorites being the foie gras and the mushroom pasta dish served for my friends who decided against foie gras but once they tasted my plate they were in heaven. Really couldn’t have a better all around experience for a dinner. Everything was superb and to top it off our night ended with a tour of the kitchen!
My 11-year old son and I dined here and it was fantastic. We both did the tasting menu, him minus the fois gras and myself with the 5 wine discovery pairing. Service, food, the ambiance... all of it was terrific. Thank you for the great evening Toque!
Was in Montréal for my birthday weekend. Enjoy tastings and boy was I in for a treat! Our waitress was delightful, very helpful in helping us choose what type of wine we wanted with dinner, it was a birthday dinner so we did the wine …
Excellent food. Wonderful hospitality. We were lucky enough to meet the chef and get a tour of the kitchen. Classic French and rich ingredients. Thank-you!
absolutely amazing!
Perfect evening at Canada's Best Restaurant! Food was perfect, from the oysters to our mains (proteins were cooked PERFECTLY and very flavourful), we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Service was one of the best I've experienced anywhere. Servers/food runners were polite and engaging without being too distracting, dishes and drinks were explained as they came out, which enhanced our enjoyment of them. Overall a wonderful meal. Will be back!
Located on the ground floor of what looks like an office building. One of the best tasting menus I've had in Canada. Great balance in the dishes and the service was on point. All ingredients are locally sourced and as fresh as can be. I imagine the dishes change seasonally but this iteration was great. Everything was presented gracefully on dishes. Cannot recommend the tasting menu enough here.
Had a fabulous dinner at Toque before my evening flight back to Toronto. The service and ambiance were upscale and pleasant. Unfortunately, we had to rush through the meal. Next time, will plan to enjoy the meal to the fullest 2.5 hours recommended by our server. The duck entree was succulent and delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy French cuisine.
Bottom line: delicious high end dining for honestly not that high a cost for what you get. Gluten line: almost everything could be made gluten free on request and they even had gluten free bread! (Pictured) Long line: from the moment we walked through the door, we felt special. A sommelier approached us and went over the wine menu. Our waiter appeared promptly after and was very welcoming when we discussed my wife's celiac requirements. The appetizer, Princess Marinated Scallops with Strawberry and Tomato Vinegar with radish, peach water and tagetes mousse was crazy good, and main plates (duck and black cod) were absolutely AMAZING. They even gave wifey a nice birthday card and a small dessert. Highly recommend it for a night of fine dining in Montreal.
My favorite restaurant. Everything is exceptional; the food, service, and ambiance comes together wonderfully to provide a very enjoyable experience. If you enjoy wine, consider sitting at the bar and letting Gilbert pair with your food selections.
This was by far the best that I have ever eaten. I did the tasting menu with the wine pairings. VERY expensive but worth every penny I paid. Fabulous combinations that I would never have ordered in my lifetime and it was by far the best …
Great vibes
Amazing experience and amazing staff! I would highly recommend this to anyone how loves food.
I’m years over on my review but this was one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had. Everything was exquisite. We were give a little tour behind the scenes to see the amazing work to bring food from Quebec to the plate. Incredible.
Awesome experience
I died and went to heaven eating this food! Masterpiece! Only photos I took the other courses I simply savoured and ate happily!
Almost certainly the most wonderful meal experience I've ever had. We chose the tasting menu, and tried most of their cocktails. Both pescetarians, we communicated our dietary preference beforehand and the kitchen was so flexible and gracious, and curated a delightful mushroom and fish centric 5 courses of savoury delights, and two of the most magnificent desserts I've ever eaten. The servers were friendly, polite, and eager to cater to our needs... though we were not particularly needy customers! Not cheap (nearly $500) after all was said and done, but worth every penny. We left utterly satisfied and happy. This was the definition of a five star meal. Bravo, toque.
Service was great. Staff were courteous. The food here is pleasing most to eyes then to the tongue. It's definitely an art. Lunch menu is cheaper as it already comes with appetizer. The food itself has good quality - meats are cooked the …
Fabulous service and food. Definitely my favourite restaurant in Montreal!
Food was good but I thought it was overpriced for the quality. Wouldn't return for more.
Nice service but too rich for my blood. I prefer Europea for fancy in MTL.
The service and presentation were both amazing. Immpecable I can say. The food was a bit underwhelming for the price. The interior also needs to be refreshed for the price and prestige of the place. The bread was delicious. This seems like a great business lunch to impress clients but not somewhere I'd choose to come back to otherwise, considering the price. Was there for dinner. Had the pasta and the lamb. Huge wine variety for all budgets. Appetizer is included. Tour of the cellar was nice.
Amazing main courses and the wine paring!
Came here for our anniversary and it was delicious. The plating is beautiful and the food was so good. We did the tasting menu and I’d highly recommend it. The interior has a jazzy feel to it. It’s definitely a fine dining experience and a great place to go if you’re looking to charm someone.
Truly amazing restaurant. Took the other half here to celebrate her birthday and I'm glad that I did. The staff were very attentive and professional at all times. The food was just out of this world. Every flavour tasted different to the dish before. The dessert had the vibrancy and texture that you would not expect. Fully mind-blowing experience. Just a shame the valet parking was $19 but I guess due to the location and rating of the restaurant, you would expect to pay that at any other place.
Came here for our one year wedding anniversary. A big treat for us since we never go to such high class restaurants. The staff was very professional and nice. The food was very good and the plating was on point.
First class food and impeccable service. Worth the time and money to the last penny. Don't miss it!
Wow to start i went with my best foodie pal from Toronto! The place was lightly dimmed, the ambiance was exciting, mysterious. I was in aww with my first appetizer! We had decided to try the 7 services with pairing wine! What a great idea! The discovery choice was the best for Us. Every wine had us excited about the next one coming and the flavours? Just wow! Hands down one of my best table in Montreal or in the few countries i had the chance to visit! I didn’t know what to really expect but clearly they delivered! Im a foodie, a fishmonger and a professional Cook! I know what im sayin right now, i am still thinking about the plates and the pairing! Match in Heaven. Seriously! And the way they come to your table and explain every details of the drinking part and then the next guy right away comes with the food and tell a story that really appealed to my palette! I recommend this restaurant to any foodie that want to know what real great food is! Once in your life is not enough but once is enough to know whats right and whats wrong in the culinary industry! Trust me i know! They get a 5 stars from Me. Im proud of how they presented my first appetizer with the shrimps i sell at the fishmarket. That was memorable. Really. #humblenights
This place is very expensive
Wow. Toqué def lives up to the hype. I am looking forward to more fancy nights here. Bravo to the whole team!
Brilliant menu, amazing French-Canadian food. Don't miss desert!
This place is worth its reputation: Stellar! Service is amazing. The food is simply out of this world.
This review is based on lunch visit and not dinner. This place deserves 5stars, no question. But it's not my favourite Montreal restaurant. The service was professional and attentive but it could have been friendlier. The ambiance was a little flat. But the food made up for it. Wow! The presentation is as good as you'll find anywhere in the world and the quality can be tasted in every bite. I had the suckling pig and the tagliatelle both were excellent I also shared the crab which was by far the best dish. The dessert was again very well presented but I was disappointed by its taste and found it too sweet. Superb coffee.
Fantastic service, great wine AND beer selection, and the atmosphere was extraordinary. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, knowledgeable, and even suggested events to do after (we noted we were just visiting). The plating was gorgeous and the tasting menu incorporated quite a few interesting and unique meats. Great experience.
Hands down the best meal I’ve ever had. Each of the courses in the tasting menu was completely unique and added something special to the meal. Also, the service was outstanding and they accommodated a bunch of dietary restrictions. The wine pairing is a must; the sommeliers tell a story about each wine and how it pairs with your course. It’s definitely expensive, but you’re paying for a 2-3 hour experience, not just the food.
Beautiful food and excellent staff. Locally sourced and all the more delicous for it!
The service and presentation were both 10/10. However, the food was a bit underwhelming for the price. The interior also needs to be refreshed for the price and prestige of the place. The bread was cold. This seems like a great business lunch to impress colleagues or clients but not somewhere I'd choose to come back to otherwise. Came for lunch and had the guinea fowl and octopus. It is nice that for lunch they include an appetizer and coffee or tea.
Wow! What an experience! Dined there for a work dinner - it was EXCELLENT! The staff is top notch, extremely knowledgable. The table wanted to go with the chef's 7 course meal experience which gave me some pause, but everything they brought out was outstanding! I can't recommend that experience highly enough. It is costly, but if you're going to Toque you should already expect that. It's not for everyone, but if you're looking to impress someone, this will do the trick!
I loved this place. Staff was super super friendly and the food was outstanding. The portions were large (much larger than what I expected). We were two people and shared 5 starters and each had a main dish afterwards. We were actually full …
Expensive but worth it! Food is incredible, wine pairings on point. Some very minor service stumbles perhaps due to language issues.
The 7 course tasting menu and wine pairing was exceptional. I also eat a ton of food and was overstuffed at the end, so there was no lack of food. Absolutely a fantastic meal from start to finish.
The food wasn't tasty like expected, especially the duck. But very good service and the environment is very nice.
Very good lunch
Everything at this restaurant is perfect. 7 course and 7 course prestige wine pairing is absolutely the way to go. Wish i could give this 6 stars...make sure you get dessert, you may want to get two.
I went there with friends and we tried the tasting menu (7 courses) and chose our own wine. The menu is blind in a sense that you don’t know what is coming - just need to notify the waiter about food allergies or food that you don’t like. The food was excellent (see the pictures). I put only four stars because I did not like much the atmosphere of the place, I found the bread to be average, and finally I found it expensive for the overall experience ($148 + tax and tips, + wine).
Exquisite until the duck breast with the main course was chewy, the fat was not rendered enough and the skin was flaccid not crispy. I'm sorry to say it soured what would have otherwise been a near-perfect experience.
We came to Montreal on our honeymoon and were interested in having the best food experience possible. After exploring the city during the day we arrived at Toque for our reservation and were completely taken care of from the moment we …
I went here for a girls night during their menu jeunesse event. It was fantastic. The dishes were exquisite and the service was amazing. The waiters were very attentive and the sommeliers made sure to tell us what we were drinking and why we were drinking it! The stand out was the duck, with a nice spicy reduction sauce. However, the menu changes every day! It’s a really cool experience and would invite anyone interested in trying one of the best restaurants in Canada to definitely go here.
Very good food
delicate and delectable????
The first time during Covid time, for our anniversary and really appreciated the food & service. Really love the duck & the desert.
I came to Toque for lunch a couple of years ago after reading some rave reviews. I would consider myself to have a relatively refined palate that is quite sensitive to the balance of a dish. That being said I continue to the review. After ordering our food, we were given a tour of the kitchen and it is definitely clean and well maintained. We were told something regarding their transport of food to and from another restaurant and were happy to have our questions answered. The menu items gave off the sense that Toque was going for somewhat non traditional dishes. I am always interested in restaurants trying to stay ahead of the curve in gastronomy, since I consider it as much science as it is art, but was let down by the execution of the meal. I should note now that because we went to Toque not because we were hungry, but to judge it's food and because of this we were quite harsh in our critiques of the food. Give dinner a try here but I would recommend against going for lunch.
Amazing! Yes, it's expensive. But it's a once in a lifetime experience.
Simply the best restaurant in Montreal! High class cuisine with a delicious degustation menu.
Toqué! is without any doubt the best restaurant in Quebec ! I can't say about the rest of Canada as I haven't tried all the fancy restaurants out there, but I went to all the ones of the Belle Province and really Toqué! distinguishes itself by the consistency of the quality (was my fifth time there) and the primness of the ingredients. The overall quality standards remain high throughout the years. I went to Toqué! for lunch with my friend in late October and we really enjoyed. Below are the key takeaways - Amazing service: the waitress has obviously been working at this restaurant for a while and she really was able to help us with our meal selection and wine pairing. She also brought us some interesting insights about the suppliers which was very appreciated. - Amazing food, especially off-menu items: we asked if they were serving oysters which didn't appear on the menu and they served us a set of oysters with champagne paring and really the champagne choices couldn't have been better. The oysters were also the best one we had so far in about 6 restaurants including Joe Beef, Bouillon Bilk and Maison Boulud. If you consider only the food, it is actually very affordable. Definitely recommend for dates, business lunches and dinners or birthday celebration.
Coming from Toronto and going to Toque we were excited and curious how it will be. Well, we very much enjoyed the Chefs tasting. First, ambience is lovely and a touch different. A flair of Europe avant-garde style. Second, service was excellent. Our server knew the food, the wines and was just lovely. Third, food was excellent. Oyster, Halibut, Pasta with Mushroom or Fois gras, Quayle, Duck, Cheese, Sweets. Except the desert it was spectacular and delicious. Desert fell flat compared to the other dishes. Fourth, wine pairing Discovery (cheaper) was excellent well chosen wines. Summary, clearly 5 star and what was so different to Toronto, it was all about the food.
Excellent service. Food with wine pairing is very good but not the best.
Very professional waiters and waitresses. Great serving indeed.
The staff was friendly and attentive. It felt like a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, not pompous like i expected. We went on a Tuesday so the place was not packed and it was pretty quiet. The food was excellent of course. We shared an entree and each had a main course. The portions were quite generous. Desert was very good. The menu changes often and the tasting menu changes weekly, so its hard to reccommend something specific. Would return for a special occasion.
As per reviews, this place is classy and tasty! We went for the lunch menu, it included an appetizer and main course. Very colorful and artful presentation with the freshest ingredients. We had a guinea fowl dish and a goat dish. Coffee tea and breads are offered as well. Great service!
This meal was one of the best we've had in terms of food quality, presentation, taste. And incredible service and staff that did not hesitate when we asked if we could see the wine cellar. A wonderful evening all around. There is the reason they are a top restaurant in Canada
Based on the number of positive reviews, I had high expectations for Toque. The staff was friendly provided great service; however, the food was significantly below average. We ordered and shared 10 dishes and they were all bland at best. Presented well, but disappointing and not worth the price. There are far better restaurants for a fraction of the price.
Fantastic food, service and ambiance. As always !
An exceptionally excellent meal! The service was fantastic, the atmosphere subtle and superb. The food and wine were well presented and the pairings outstanding. This is an expensive meal, and the experience is sublime. You have to be a foodie to really appreciate the experience. If you have high expectations, they will likely be met or exceeded.
When you have a bad meal at any restaurant you can get over it, it’s not the end of the world. But when you are paying $275 (tax, tip, valet) a head you just want your mind to be blown. The things that we tried as part of the tasting were …
The dishes are not bad. My friend and I had venison loin and sulking pig loin for main. One certain piece of pork loin in the dishes are super impressive, the rest are just doing an average job comparing to similar price level restaurants. Also, waiting time is really long(first course to main). Considering the value, this is not my favourite in Montreal. Worth experiencing once because it's number one on the rank.
Pad sew suculant.. Cheap and the food is excellent . Doesn't have the same cooking style as the Thai express with real Thai people but same ingredients. am a big fan of Thai food. What a disappointment I had when I tried this restaurant. The imperial rolls consisted of 80% fat frying. General Tao was more worthy of Colonel Sanders.
I have been to this restaurant for many years, it is still my favorite restaurant at all time. Must try the 7 courses tasting menu, i always find the chefs use most seasonal fresh local ingredients, turn them into mouthful of surprises. Never disappointed by their food, presentation and... don't forget their cocktails, the talented bartender will recommand his new invention for the season. This restaurants offers impeccable world class culinary experience, very high standard of service as well.
Awesome friendly and super knowledgeable staff. Great atmosphere. Food and wine both amazing, loved it. Would definitely come here again.
Normand Laprise's restaurant doesn't need a presentation anymore as it is a staple in Montréal. I went for their Menu Jeunesse (18-30 yo) last April as it was quite a steal. The service team was attentive and knowledgeable and the food was creative and delicious. You can never go wrong when eating at Toqué! We also asked to visit the kitchen at the end of our meal.
1) Great Service - very professional and attentive to details. 2) Amazing food - We had the surprise 'Menu Degustation', the good thing about the menu is the vegetables/meat/fish are locally sourced. What makes this place a 5* star is : the story behind each plate. Each individual ingredient has a unique story and when mellowed in a plate become an Epic Shakespearean play in your mouth. I will suggest tipping a minimum of 20% as when you are at this restaurant, you will feel like in an Orchestra where everyone who works there has a special instrument and a special place in the delivery of the final product which is a divine experience. To conclude : I will state that Mozart after Mozart is still Mozart. Art delivered on a plate.
We were a party of 3 for lunch. Our waiter was great, as was the rest of the service staff. The food was pretty good, and well-presented but overpriced. Our waiter was very attentive but it’s strange that he never really came around to ask us how we were enjoying the meal. He would just come to either bring us the next course or to clear our plates. His wine recommendation was well-paired with our meal. The 4 instead of 5 stars was for quality vs price and not checking with us periodically.
Wonderful dinner. The bartender made me an amazing mysterious drink. I was skeptical because I am very picky, but this restaurant is amazing and pulled off wowing my taste buds over and over again.
The staff was very polite and knowledgeable. The individual items on the plate were properly prepared but there was little cohesion in the flavors and the food was bland with the exception of the Black Cod First Course. We have eaten at many restaurants in Montreal which are far superior to Toque. Not worth the money.
Be careful not to get full with the tasty bread!! One of the desserts wasn’t that good. The best foie gras ever!! Excellent service:)
Overall Food: 4 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4 Value: 4 Recommend or Repeat: Y
What once was reviewed as a 5 star has become a 1 star. Tasting menu was bad. We had to return 3 of the 5 dishes. Most items were prepared cold, the tuna belly presentation was awful and overcooked, cold foie gras admitted isn’t my preference but it was horrible. Lastly, I struggle with a vegetable (beats) being the flavour for my sorbet. For this money would choose Jereome Ferrier Europa every time. #epicfail #willnotbeback
The 7 course Chef Menu was FABULOUS ! Every course was explained. Every course was extremely tasty! The service was EXCELLANT and they were very attentive. Highly recommended.
It took me 3 months to finally get to this restaurant and it was well worth the wait. This was part of my bucket list ..and it has been checked. Great ambiance and lovely staff. Food was great!
Restaurant was just amazing. We had a 7 course tasting menu and every dish was absolutely an explosion of flavors. Some of the dishes were actually large portioned (like the trout and the duck) and the service was terrific. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
I think that it would be difficult to go wrong with this restaurant. If you're looking for an enjoyable dining experience, then this is the place for you. You have your choice of ordering individual menu items like any traditional …
I consider service to be a big part of dining out. Well the staff here are very well trained. Professional yet personable. For a highly rated and regarded establishment, the prices are very reasonable; the tasting menu is $140(which is at least 25% less than similar restaurants in TO.) 7 courses of unique and fantastic flavour combinations. Each fork or spoonful is different tasting experience depending on how you combine the flavours. Only risotto dish was a disappointment. I prefer creamier slightly softer rice. The chef opted for more texture of rice to be felt. Well personal preference, I guess. Wine selection is extensive. 2.5 hours of fun dining. Atmosphere is relaxed and subdued. But the spacing of the tables is generous, so you can carry a conversation without being concerned about your neighbouring tables. Reservation a must. I booked a month before my visit.
There is literally nothing wrong with this place from my experience anyway. The tasting menu lived up to its reputation with the best seasonal local product with an interesting wine pairing. …
Gorgeous plating, innovative dishes and excellent service. Absolutely the best restaurant. Must try the 7-course tasting menu with foie gras! You'll enjoy more than a dinner itself here. Really satisfied and had a lot of fun here, thank you every staff I met. And thank you chef for such an amazing meal. The lamb is my favorite, sooo tender and tasty, can't be better!
Top resto in Mtl. From service to quality of food to creativity of world renowned chef. Very unique degustation menu style. Guaranteed two thumbs up.
Great restaurant with a really fun atmosphere. More on the pricey side without feeling overly pretentious. Foie Gras was phenomenal as was the rack of lamb. Everything had beautiful presentation as well
I had a wonderful time dining here this past Saturday evening. It was a great way to cap off my Montreal trip. I just want to thank all the staff, especially the sommelier for being so attentive/informative. The tour of the kitchen/wine cellar made it even more special. Merci beaucoup.
Food is ok for the price. If you are in anyway sensitive to dust, do not come here though. You will be sneezing your way through your meal with all the carpet and fabric in the decor.
