Fresh and inventive! This is a true foodie type of place, environment is super low key but high end. This is why you go to a big city, to experience something like this.

Exactly what you would come to expect out of the Joe Beef family of restaurant. Excellent service from start to finish, an amazing variety of natty wine and great recommendations to come along with it. Had the testing menu and we have absolutely nothing to complain about. Got lucky to have a corner table, but it’s a quaint/cozy place that can get full quick. More than happy with our decision to visit

Great ambience, nice decor, good service and friendly staff! Love their ever changing menu and how easy it is to share the dishes. Probably my favorite out of all the Joe Beef restaurants or close tie to Vin Papillon, taste wise and price wise!

Wow! An absolutely wonderful evening at MonLapin. Tanya and Marc-Antoine took great care of us. The food was delectable and the selection on Natural wines exquisite. Can’t wait to go back!

Very expensive for a tomatoes salad, 2 slices of bread and a soft drink .. 33$ They didn’t want to give me an entire table - so I was in the corner of the street while the terrace was empty ????????‍♀️ Really disappointed… I don’t recommend. There’re many other nice restaurants around.

Imagine a restaurant on the cusp of a Michelin star and you have Vin Mon Lapin. Not really much more to add. Every dish is fantastic. My favorites include the Tortelloni im Brodo, the Strangalopreti, and the lamb cigars. Their carrot cake is a true thing of beauty, known through Picola Italia. You will never regret the carrot cake. If you’re lucky enough to go early and get one warm it’s a massive win. Lovely people. So committed to excellence. Go.

Renaud Brochu

Everything was wonderful especially the wine. Easily a 100$ per person tho but worth every penny.

My girlfriend and I stopped by Vin Mon Lapin for the first time last night and had an absolute gem of an experience! We were told the wait would be 20ish minutes but it ended up being an hour, but I still have to give this restaurant 5 stars! The waitress asked us what kinds of wines we liked and she came out with a selection of three that were all perfect and the one that we chose with her help was light, fruity, and completely to our taste. We then said that we were vegetarians and asked what there was on the menu for us. She said that the kitchen would do an off-menu menu du chef for us for an affordable price. We agreed and were met with 2 appetizers and 3 mains to share which were all inventive and flavourful. One of the best culinary experiences I've had in a long time.

This is my favorite restaurant in Montreal????

Michael Colatruglio

Food was very delicious, but portions were very small and the price was very high for what you were getting. I did not like the dessert much either.

Sam Girardin

Lovely staff with comforting and innovative cuisine. The terrace is the way to go!

Wow. One of my favorite restaurant now. Although they don't take reservation the waiting wasn't at all as bad, due to the ambiance and the set-up by the kitchen where we had to wait with great music the entire evening. The Service was just incredible, super friendly staff and very efficient. The food was out of this world, very imaginative, design and so tasteful. My favorite part is that we took the approach to have chef offer us some of his favorite dish , sort of surprise menu! Highly recommend this approach to anyone. The wine selection was just perfect ! Love love love this place!

Samuel De Bleeckere

Food was instagrammable but mostly lacked taste. For a wine bar I would expect more choices by the glass. They let people wait anywhere so expect strangers standing next to your table looking down waiting till you leave. Service is a bit pushy but friendly. The owner was around at opening time to overview things. Overpriced and left hungry.

Amazing service! Delicious food, great wine selection

Naly Y.

Great ambiance and excellent service with knowledgeable staff. However, the portions are tiny so if you have a big appetite, expect to order many plates (they are like small tapas). Most of the plates have great flavors. However, considering the price of each, the quantity is absurd. We split 5 plates, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine and the bill came up to over 200$. Also, the restaurant itself is very small, the tables are very close to each other and it is pretty loud. Get there early as they do not take reservations!

What an evening!!! This is my new favorite BEST restaurant in Montreal. The service, the ambiance and the food are absolutely exquisite. The ownes chef Marc Oliver and top sommeliere Vanya have nailed it!!

Grégoire Lamarche Ledoux

Great food, good wine, good service, kinda loud.

Max Seltzer

A delicious fun meal focused on local produce and product. We felt like we were eating the best of the season. Highlights include the mackerel and iceberg salad, the beautiful zucchini blossoms, morels and sweetbreads, quail foie, and an exceptional olive oil ice cream sandwich. Our server Kevin was very knowledgeable about the menu and took very good care of us. We will be back many more times.

Brace yourself, Little Italy has finally a restaurant worthy to make any WOP proud of their neighbourhood. This Joe Beef family restaurant is truly regal in each and every way - from appetizer to dessert. A Canada Top 100 without a doubt. TIP: the place is pretty snug and they don’t take reservations. Be there before 7pm and you should get a table pretty quickly.

With a line forming prior to the 5pm dinner service opening, we knew we were in for something. My party and I opted for the 6-course chefs tasting menu, featuring a variety of nicely crafted and delicious dishes. The space is fairly small, yet the service is top notch, approachable and professional, making for a convivial time. A lovely gorgeous dinner experience!

Small plates tapas style restaurant with an extensive wine lists and great cocktails. Vibe is young, venue is perfect for a date, and food is good, though portions are small so expect the night to add up quickly. The menu uses local and seasonal ingredients extensively and adds a spin to most dishes which was refreshing and fun. Staff is probably one of the friendliest I've ever come across and everyone from busboy to waiters would regularly check on you and make sure you have everything. Would go back and would recommend!

Im an organic veggie farmer and whenever I do deliveries to Mon Lapin, the staff is so welcoming and friendly. Working with different restaurants in the past, I’ve had bad experiences with chefs, but it is just so refreshing to work with Mon Lapin and interact with their team. The Chef is very encouraging of local Montreal producers and we definitely should support them in these pandemic times ????????

Great food, better service

If only I could give this place more stars, I would. It is a delight to know that such an unassuming place exist. The menus are authentic and changes daily. What is also amazing are the staff particularly this lady named Tanya who was like a walking encyclopedia about the food they are serving and the wine selections. She is like a celebrity server. Getting to this place was easy, we took the metro from Berri-UQAM station to Beaubien station. It took us about 8-9 minutes walk through a cute neighborhood of Little Italy. The sidewalks are amazingly filled with tables where people hangout, eat, drink and socialize. I really love the vibe of this area and Mon Lapin totally compliments it. We will be back!

Andréanne DeRive

Friendly staff, good selection of wine and attentive to your personal wine taste. Food was good but not the main aspect of the experience. Would recommend for the atmosphere!

If i could rate this more than 5 stars I would. This was easily a 2-3 michilin star experience (I have eaten at multiple mentions/1-3 star resteraunts in japan). Easily the best meal I've ever had in life period. The chef who designs the menu knows how to combine ingredients with little oddities and rural local produce and seafood. The server (Grace) is a serious professional and took care of me. I let her take control and She designed a menu for myself and perfectly matched the beer I was drinking (sours aren't a thing here in Quebec but she surprisingly had some similiar beers with a bit of sourness). The other service staff were fantastic at keeping me company since I was dining solo at the bar and we chit chatted with alot. There is no pressure To leave either. I had my reservation booked a month prior when I booked my flight here. I made absolutely no regrets coming here especially after liquor/food/tip brought my bill to 140. 100/10. Best meal I've ever experience.

Carol Slater

The absolute BEST Southern fried chicken on earth!!!! Thanks❤️????

Great place - good wine selection

Nick Green

This restaurant absolutely blew me away. I have years of experience in the restaurant business and as a former food writer, and Mon Lapin ranks in my top dining experiences. The food was incredible, from beginning to end - particularly the halibut. I was with some major wine drinkers, so we wanted to try a variety of wine. All we had to do was mention that, and we were brought a progression of different options throughout the night. And then there was the service: every staff member in the restaurant seemed to come by for a chat at some point, each giving us a bit more information about the food and wine. Tanya was our main server, and she completely made our night. Such incredible charm and a great sense of humour, paired with a deep knowledge of food and wine. If you go all out like us, your Visa will be feeling it... but it is SO worth it. Thank you Mon Lapin! I'll be back!

Great little restaurant in Little Italy ! First come first serve type of place. But the wait is worth it ! Staff and service was very good and they selections of wine is amazing ! The food is delicious more of a tapas size but filled with flavour. I recommended to try it at lease once , they are in the same layback of vinpapillon et Joe beef

Nicole Bowden

My new favourite restaurant in Montreal! Ever better than Liverpool house and I never thought I would say that. Service is wonderful, everything is perfectly paced and the food is close-your-eyes good! No reservations. To get a table there will be a wait unless you arrive at 5pm when they open or 10pm for last dinner service (kitchen closes at 12am). If you do need to wait though, they offer you wine and keep you informed on your table. I highly highly recommend. The food changes daily. One bathroom. Menu is in French only but staff is happy to translate so wasn’t an issue for me.

Wow. This restaurant is amazing. We had a tremendous evening here. They sat us outside with our baby and were gentle the whole time we were there. The dishes are all amazing — we had to try almost all the menu to be sure everything was so good and tasty. The natural wine selection is also excellent. I can't wait to come back! This was our best meal in Montreal. Highly recommended.

Chanel Fournier

Beautiful spot, with delicious food, and lovely service. I always have a great time here!

Michael Townsend

Excellent food, excellent wine, excellent service. Never fails to impress.

Scott U

Excellent food, ambiance, and staff. Another winner from my favorite local restaurant group.

Richard Kaufman

Exquisite little dishes to share. The menu constantly changes, seasonal fare and chef's creativity. The wine list is unusual, little known organic and sustainably grown.

Andréanne “Andie” Tremblay

Really good service, they suggested a variety of good wine. The food is really good and easy to share.

matt siegel

One of the best meals, and experiences, I've ever had. Incredible inventive food. Magical raw wines. All brought together by perfect service from a knowledgeable friendly staff. Just a spectacular time.

Lolita

Great experience! Amazing dishes, nice atmosphere. We went in at opening during the week and were seated immediately. The place didn't fill up until about 7:00. The menu changes daily and consists of small plates, so we tried about half of the menu. Everything we tried was incredibly well prepared and flavorful. The sauces in particular were all excellent. Would recommend!

Deirdre Dorsey

The coffee was delicious and the staff super friendly.

Everything from the vibe, to the service, to the food, to the drinks were over my expectations. One of the waiters recommended La Socarrada, a white wine that went perfectly with our dinner. I totally recommend the tagliatelle. We couldn’t have enough! The ice cream sandwich was also a very light dessert to end the end. Can’t wait to go back and discover more of their dishes!

John Reinhardt

Once again I'd like to give this place more stars. Perhaps because they knew my son, an infamous Montreal chef himself, but our tasting menu along with appropriate wine pairings plus service was exceptional. The open kitchen was a treat.

Daniel Kwong

I went there two weeks ago. The service is great. The staff is extremely friendly. The quantity of food served does not justify the price. When the menu was explained to us, it sounded like (and I am sure) there are a lot of food preparation techniques involved and that only high quality ingredients are being used. However, when it was served to us, the flavors were underwhelming, the portions were tiny, quality of the ingredients did not wow me and I found that there were many elements and techniques that could have been omitted or changed to better the dish and help lower the price of it at the same time. High quality ingredients is always wanted in a dish, but they're being wasted (and increases the price of the dish) if they are not used to their fullest to make customers actually crave for more after each bite, no? One thing particularly struck me: I ordered their peach and tomatoes dish (they were in season). They literally just cut the tomatoes in half, sliced the peaches up and then drizzled a homemade balsamic vinaigrette over it (it tasted like any other balsamic vinaigrette). I understand that they want the clients to be able to taste the purity of the tomatoes and peaches, but the food thought process behind it is a little too simplistic. I do not understand why they could not prepare the tomatoes and peaches in a different manner like roasting them. I would have preferred it if they had shown and tasted like there is some food preparation behind the dish to justify the price and the small amount of food that was on the plate! There are so many ways to cook tomatoes and peaches! Perhaps it is me, but when I go to a restaurant, it's not so that the I get served chopped fruits with a dressing that tastes like any other, but rather to experience some sort of food creativity or flavor combo that would blow my mind (especially at that price point). I mean, a home cook could do much better with tomatoes and peaches, and there is a chef at work here! I would give 5 stars to the staff members, but I would not be going back for the food. Highly disappointing.

One of the best

Nicholas Boole

Dining at Mon Lapin is an experience like no other. The open kitchen really adds to the excitement as you can see the cooks prepping the mouth watering food. The service is top notch and having the opportunity to ask the cooks questions while they cooked was the icing on the cake. Sit at the bar if you can, best seat in the house! You’ll walk out of the restaurant feeling overly satisfied.

Henry Chiang

Some interesting dishes but very slow service

Robert Vincent

Really great food and even better wine! Exceptional service. Book in advance as it gets quite busy although does have expanded capacity now and some outdoor seating.

J Roos

Incredible small plates and a fabulous wine list. This was the razor clams. Delicious

Lucas Gallant

Phenomenal, I had a great waitress who took me through the whole menu despite my lack of French fluency, she catered a wine pairing for each dish and the food was some of the most flavourful I’ve had. Definitely would recommend.

Chantal Bailey

One of our favourite places to eat. Amazing and unique food, wine and service every time we go. A must!
