Nice wine bar where you should only order wine and avoid exploring the cocktails as only 1 out of the 6 drinks served to our table were actually liked by the group. The ambiance was nice, but then came the time to order food. The individual portions are small and do not include sides in most cases, so avoid if not hungry or get that extra fry on the side. The tartare was overspiced and the flavours overwhelming and don't expect any crackers to eat it on, the tuna albacore even smaller. Only sizeable dish we saw was the porc dish "plat à partager" which is shareable but oh so greasy. Service was ok with the waiters except for a few mix ups with where to put the plates down and for whom.

My friend and I went here on a Tuesday night after work to unwind from a busy day. We heard it was a really good wine bar. Seated immediately but forgotten just as quickly. Being a Tuesday evening, the place was fairly empty. Watching the waiters chit chat, we waited to be served for about 10-15 minutes and decided to go elsewhere. Not a big deal. I would not bother posting this if it ended there. However, the host or manager who seated us saw us getting up to leave. He watched us put on our costs and rather than apologize for the wait, he rudely said bonsoir. I responded in kind with a bonsoir, even with an apologetic smile. But what really infuriated me is that he made a point to come to the exit to say it again in the same rude manner. Unbelievably snobby attitude. Will not even attempt to return.

I really enjoyed the charcuterie board. It came with different types of meats such as duck and salami it was a regal tasting party. The creme brulee was really good as well. Place is very nice and the service was on-point. I'd go back. Price-tag is a bit high but that's what you get when you go to wine bar.

I seldom right bad reviews but this needs to be said. This was my first time there and definitely my last. I don't remember the last time I had that kind of food poisoning. I had oysters (that were definitely bad) and the beef tartare tasted like tuna. My overall experience was one of the worst and for a restaurant that take pride like them, I would be ashamed. Rouge Gorge is one of the best wine bars in Montreal! The wine list (by the glass) changes every 2 weeks, which never fails to impress me with the variety and quality every time.
