I have had the pleasure of dining here often. I have never had an unpleasant experience, and the staff help me out with some dietary restrictions I have. I have taken a date here during dinner time and they class up the place real well. Every meal is designed with appearance and taste in mind. As long as I live in Cornwall, this is my favorite restaurant

I have been twice to the Stomping Grounds Bistro. Although the food is excellent, the service is horrible. Last time, I receive all the food without cutlery or napkins, they were out of the coffee I ordered, saying the beans were only coming in next week. But the worst is the attitude of the man behind the bar (I think he might be one of the owners). Both times I have been there his attitude is so negative. He never smiles and it is his attitude that makes me say "I will never go back to that place, again".

We went to The Stomping Grounds for a retirement party yesterday. They were able to accommodate our entire group and even opened the restaurant on a day they were supposed to be closed. The service was amazing and the food was delicious! We had a soup, salad, and then our main course. I had the maple salmon which was the best I've ever had. The owner was serving as well and was very friendly and personable. He even asked our guest of honor what her favorite band was and played her favorite music overhead. This was a lovely experience and I will definitely be back.

Great place to go and wind down after work and grab a coffee with your friends, or even to go on a date! The coffee, was amazing, I had Tim Hortons the next day and it didnt taste the same. Loved the environment and the service, Google doesn't do this place justice! My only complaint would have to be that because I have never been there before, I told the waiter that and he didnt reccomend anything, tell us what there was or even the the menu is on the Facebook page. But other than that, the experience was great! Definitely going back ☕

I love the atmosphere, I often meet clients for coffee there, and everyone has similar remarks. This place is a gem! The food is fantastic, and changes often enough that it isn't boring! We've had many dinner parties, meetings, Christmas dinners, causal lunches, etc.. and everyone is always so happy.

Five of us went for a working lunch. We ordered drinks, and they were brought promptly, however we wanted to order food as well. Our server was Phil. He ignored us repeatedly, continually brushed us off, and when I went to ask the cook for food directly, Phil was incredibly rude and disrespectful. We ended up leaving and won’t be back. Phil should not be in the service industry as he clearly does not like people or serving them. Save yourself some time and frustration and give this place a miss.

Was outside. Very weird. We chose coffees and pastries. The pastries are designed in Montreal and they heat them up in the restaurant. Regardless, I liked what I ate. Very clean washrooms. Capacity of 40 people in their premises. (Original) Bel atmosphère. Cependant, il faudrait demander pour un menu la prochaine fois. Ce qu'ils ont d'affiché n'est qu'une fraction de ce qu'ils ont à offrir. Quand que nous sommes arrivés le préposé (peut être même le propriétaire?) fut à l'extérieur. Très bizarre. Nous avons choisi cafés et pâtisseries. Les pâtisseries sont conçus à Montréal et ils les réchauffent au restaurant. Peu importe, j'ai bien aimé ce que j'ai mangé. Salles de toilettes très propres. Capacité de 40 personnes dans leur locale.

The vibe is similar to a downtown Toronto bistro or pub lounge. Thanks in part to the over century old floors and a grand wood bar that does well not being the center piece. You have the ability to find comfort in a nook and get lost in a book while being in full view of the spectacular bar or what may be happening just beyond the grand window wall. With regards to food, you will enjoy a finely tuned meal by experienced culinary cooks. Now they play to their size well and offer daily and weekly specials. My meaning is that no one food selection is guaranteed to be there. They keep new food ideas in constant rotation. The centerpiece of this whole establishment is the staff. If I may implore a thought... Everyone has a particular "Tim Horton's" or "Starbucks" or "Pop-Eyes" or favorite QSR (quick service restaurant) they frequent. So the question is, if all Tim's are the same, what distinguishes one from another? Why do you go to the one you do? Experience. Experience of service, experience of location (close to home), experience of space, experience of self even. Well what makes The Stomping Grounds such a different take on several places you can choose from is the quality of the experience, if you are lucky enough to have Phil serve you. You can have a quiet intimate meal, absolutely. But given the opportunity to ask Phil a question, be prepared to learn something new, to experience something new, to leave feeling you have learned something new. Phil's intellect and sometimes presence very much fills the space with much warmth and a particular electric energy at times. You feel exclusive when Phil is sharing something with you and you feel satisfied to surprised when you have completed your meal. Shout outs to Troy and company for making that back of house magic really come through in the food. Creative, smart, tasty. More times than naught, they hit that "Goldilocks" zone. So take your moms. Take yourself. Take whoever you want but make sure you look this place up if you are in Cornwall. If for no other reason, simply go and enjoy this food (lunch or dinner...not just Ethiopian coffee...which by the way is pretty dang good!) and then go walk along the St. Lawrence River. Oh and did I mention that this space they are in is an old factory with a connection to Thomas Edison. Anyways, The Stomping Grounds, a gem of Cornwall for you to enjoy and to explore. Bon appetit!

Absolutely spectacular. Something that would be successful anywhere, we are SO FORTUNATE that this is in Cornwall! Food combinations are unique and the flavors compliment each other perfectly, the guys there are very polite and courteous. They explained their business model to me in the fact that they shop the local farmers markets and design each weeks menu around what is available locally! LOCALLY! This place has a spectacular atmosphere as well as coffees and more available which would make this a perfect spot for a study session, or any work functions. Honestly I can not reccomend this place any more than I am, it's spectacular and something like this would usually only be found in large cities. Do yourself a favor, go have lunch here, or just a coffee/beer/wine. You will absolutely 100% not regret it at all. Very fortunate to have had the privilege to have lunch here last weekend and will be returning for as long as they let me!

Great little place on the river, off the beaten path. Great vibe in the bistro. Hip little spot in the cotton mills area. They offer "adult beverages" such as beer and wine. Along with hot drink too like your normal coffees and teas. Great menus, they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. Was told that the dinner menu changes every so often! Would definitely recommend checking these guys out! Especially in the summer when you can ride your bike there!

Had the Crispy Chicken Club today. It had delicious chicken that was nice and crispy with a very nice coating, Pork Belly that tasted like pork candy (i mean that in all the right ways!!!) with very fresh greens and a delicious maple sweetened Aioli. IT was perfect when paired with those delicious fries! Love this place, crazy good food, great service (staff are always super nice) Still haven't been for supper yet but if it's anywhere as good as my lunches have been expect another easy 5 stars!

Food and environment was very nice. Ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. Fries aren't cut to my liking (abnormally large wedges) but the sandwich was delicious with garlic aoli - yum! We sat outside, and I very much enjoyed the atmosphere and service here!

One of the best restaurants in Cornwall easy. Couldn't ask for a better dining experience in the heart of old Cornwall. The atmosphere is unique with old timbers and floors redone from the cotton mill. Food is excellent and wait staff is quick courteous and friendly. Wanna excellent meal, go here.

Great little cafe in an up and coming area in Cornwall close to the river. There's a good selection of coffees, beer on tap and an excellent menu for food. They serve some very nice fresh pastries here too. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There's a free car park right outside. This is a lovely cosy place to go and is well recommended.
