The property is beautiful and well maintained and the skating trail is a lot of fun. The only complaint I have is the staff. They were all very negative and in a bad mood. It's too bad because this place has a lot of potential. Even when you go to sharpen your skates, they seem angry at you. The store staff is not welcoming or happy. I think what the owners need to keep in mind is that when you are paying 10$ each for skating and 10$ each for the sharpening, plus lunch, hot chocolate and purchasing wine. A family may be spending over 200$ at your farm. Please try to at least smile! :)
Beautiful place even in the winter when you need some imagination. Great people working there and great wine too
Wow it was so nice and I loved the cranberry plong. Beautiful, we had a camp fire and enjoyed our day. Would love to go back there again and again!
Loved this place! Great little getaway and fun activities! And winery is great as well! Note: washrooms are port a potties! Only down side I would say if anything.
(Translated) The old atmosphere is disappearing due to corona... (Original) 코로나로 옛날 분위기가 사라져 가네요..
I can sit and watch the cranberry harvesting whole day. Cannot wait to try the cranberry wine. Heart plunge is a good spot for proposals. The berry trail feels like my hometown country road with the frogs toads bugs ducks and insects singing.
Loved their tour!
Autumn ????
Just go there! For many reasons - incredible cranberry and blueberry wine tasting, all season trails, gift shopping, sit by the fire and experience a cranberry plunge in fall (a must do activity), snowshoe or skating in winter!
I highly recommend a visit to this farm. There are tours every day which are very informative and interesting. Amanda was an excellent tour guide. At this season, it is called a "Bog to Bottle Tour". During the fall it is a wagon tour. They really illustrate well a line from my song "Perhaps your tourist draw will keep you a-growing". There are a number of hiking trails, appealing activities such as wading in the berries (fall), and the store has an awesome selection of all things cranberry (wine, jam, juice, candles, chocolate, berries,...).
Great time. Definitely recommend the night skating.
Unique Local Experience There is nothing like this Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh in Ontario... literally they are the sole ON producer of cranberries left! The cranberry plunge is a one-of-a-kind experience that every local should do at LEAST once in their life!! It is a family business, so the staff/owners are extremely passionate & knowledgable. I loved learning about the history of the farm, trying their in-house cranberry wine, and taking the plunge to walk around with the floating cranberries! This is a great day excursion for families, couples, or singles looking for some fun in Muskoka. I would give this place a 6/5 if I could.
When i paid, I felt staffs were very unkind.
We went to Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery today. It was a beautiful day and even though we weren't able to do the cranberry plunge we opted to do the wagon ride. The cost was $15.00 per person plus parking cost of $10.00 plus tax. The wagon ride promised to be fun and informative. Bob did a good job of entertaining us, but it was only 15 minutes long. yes I say 15 minutes. It covered a trail that would have taken me 20 minutes to walk and with signage I would have had the same info. If you wish to go to the cranberry farm, I would suggest that just choose the free parking and go to the cafe, store and walk around read the signs and you will have a great day sans expense. They are ripping you off.
Great selection of products!
Love their cranberry plunge. It was $27 a person and you get 30 minutes with the water over-alls included! They also have a fun souvenir shop and wine tasting as well as a walk around / carriage rides. Family fun experience! Book ahead of time and take advantage of all their creative activities on their beautiful property.
A great way to spend a beautiful fall day. It was very crowded during the Cranberry festival weekend.
Fun afternoon for an older family.
I had a wonderful experience here exploring the trails and trying the cranberries! Would highly recommend
Need to be fully vax to go skating outside, what a joke.
R u a ???? ???? Semi Truck Driver going there for delivery? Notes for you., I had been there. 1. Their premises is not made for semi. Its a pain to turn. 2. They will make you to be inside your 53' to push the heavy fruit pulp drums to the edge using pump jack. REALLY HEAVY AND DIFFICULT WORK of hrs, I was not supposed to do this as a driver, but did as they didnt had more than 1 male who was using his forklift from ground and they asked me to help. I hate my helping nature. Dude, this is the 1st time I had to do this in my decade driving career. And will never do again. They didnt even thanked me properly. My back was aching for a week. I wont advise you to go there and do this without any benefit! 3. Beware of the low weight narrow bridge near here if u r still planning to go there - It is not marked on truck gps. All the best????????
A picturesque cranberry farm. We went during the cranberry plunge and it definitely is the best time to go. The cranberry plunge is a photo worthy activity (be prepared to wait in line) and thoroughly enjoyed it. They have a wagon ride which takes you around the farm. Also a great place to see the fall colors!!
Beautiful scenery, people and the Cranberry/Blueberry wine is yummy????
Absolute disaster. They just keep on letting the cars and tour buses come in while there is no parking and just general over crowded facilities. Management is clueless as well, just cashing in on the masses trying to squeeze in here. Avoid avoid avoid!!!
Picked up a bottle of White Cranberry wine & cranberry ciders, sadly were sold out of their wine spritzers. Store had a great variety of pantry, fridge and freezer items. Both beverages were delicious, the cider has a surprisingly light taste, really refreshing poured over ice & squeeze of lime in it
Awesome atmosphere and great treats! Anytime of the year.
It felt like we were transported to the Swiss Alps to enjoy the tasty cheese fondue with fresh breads, a flight of local wines, mulled wine and warm cider. A great setting for us to have comfortable conversations with friends. Staff are exceptional, kind and very accommodating. This will be a wonderful ending to a day when the skating/hiking trails open up. Tables are booking up quickly. Highly recommend.
Delicious cranberry and other fruit wines!
We've come with the kids during the cranberry festival to do the wagon ride and see the cranberry harvest. We've also come alone on our anniversary for the wine tasting ????????
My partner and I came here for a wine tasting and ended up buying multiple bottles of the Georgian rosé along with staying for a glass. So, so good! Service was friendly. Loved it!
A great selection of wines to taste and a beautiful patio in the summer. I can't wait to visit again in the fall and winter to see how it changes with the seasons. We had a glass of wine and sangria with the cheese plate - absolutely amazing, and definitely recommend! A great spot for a girls day or a nice little afternoon date. A true hidden gem in Muskoka. Worth the drive!
Great place, the wine is amazing
Had a great time with family. Potentially lots of walking depending on what you want to do, and it can be a bit muddy (which isn't surprising).
Such a great set up and tours. The owners and staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and run amazing taste tours of all their home made produce, wines and spirits
Great experience. Ice trail was well groomed and superb for skating. They are well organized (portolets, place to put on skates, and bonfires along the route and dotted throughout the experience). Buy your pass in the shop, go skating and then come back to enjoy libations.
Good tour, lovely mulled wine and tasting.
Beautiful place. I've been there a couple times for snowshoeing and the staff are always so friendly :) They have many trails that lead you through lovely scenery. They keep the trails groomed really well in the winter. I hope to come visit in the summer♡
Genuine, friendly people in a beautiful place. Also, some of the best fruit wines I've ever had.
Very nice location and it looks amazing in the fall. It is interesting to see the harvesting process. Be prepared to pay a fair bit if you want to buy anything
Was super fun, staff was super helpful and really looking forward to visiting again.
What a wonderful way to spend your day sitting around a fire drinking cranberry mulled cider and watching people scate.
I visited today (13/08/18) with my partner (we're both from the UK) and did the 'Bog to Bottle' tour followed by wine tasting. Our host Chris was extremely knowledgeable, super friendly, polite and helpful. I now have a new favourite wine! I had never tasted Cranberry wine before today, but it is an absolute must! I really hope some day they will ship to the UK :) thanks for a fantastic visit ????
Terrible service and awful product knowledge. Walked in and were not greeted and the staff was not polite what so ever. We went to pay and stood there for 5 minuites while the staff finished their conversation, and we were the only customers in the store.
We always have a blast at the cranberry marsh! Even during the busy thanksgiving weekend we made the most of our visit by parking further back in a small lot on the way in, and then bought all of our favourite cranberry things. When it’s less crowded the tour is a great learning experience too. Can’t wait to come back to skate on the bog again this winter!
Absolutely fantastic experience! Arrived earlier than 10 o’clock opening and were greeted with smiles at the ticket booth and the cutest lab, who welcomed all the guests I assure you. ???? When we arrived to the cranberry plunge we were welcomed by the owner and Danielle who got our suits and explained to us how to enter the water. It was amazing. I didn’t know what to expect so I prepared my tripod and camera but the owner gladly and willingly took photos of us on my camera and hers. Told us where to stand and just enjoyed our time. We were early so we had it all to ourselves but it slowly got busier. I recommend an early day to have an experience to yourself. After the plunge we undressed and went for our trail walk. One recommendation is to get more signs or “you are here” maps. We started down a trail but didn’t know where to go from there so turned back. We’re definitely coming back in the winter for skating!!
Fun time . Well groomed for snow shoing and ice skating.
Great experience here. They practice safety and social distancing so felt quite comfortable having wine and cheese on the patio and going for a hike along the trails. Beautiful spot - we won't hesitate to go again.
Excellent place and excellent people ????
Lovely place, friendly, patient and polite staff amd owners. You can taste wine and cheese ( with cheese needs booking) and wall in the cranberrypool, has trails and shop cranberry derivatives
Just a big eh! I went and wasn’t impressed. You’re not missing much. There is about a ten min walk through the field where cranberries are grown and a very small “tasting”- which you have to pay for. You pay for a ten min walk, one frozen cranberry to eat, about about 6 very small samples of wine. The amount they pour can fit into a mouth wash cup. I’ve been to tasting much more generous and were free. Their wine and products are good but they should be ashamed to charge for that shoddy “tour”. The folks are nice tho. The guide was very nice. Just really isn’t much going on here. I’d skip the tour just go and sample their stuff and leave.
Cranberry plunge and trails are awesome... Winter time brings outdoor skating to the trails which is also a great time... And the mulled wine... Mmmmmmm delicious ????
Very nice farm
Beautiful. Our wagon ride tour guide was hilarious. Had the wine tasting so had the opportunity to sample some of the wines. Did shopping. They also have Cranberry plunge for those who want to get a great photo. The hiking trails I tried were nice and easy.
Over crowded but many things to see and very nice trails
Absolutely love it
Loved this place! Great little getaway and fun activities! And winery is great as well! Note: washrooms are port a potties! Only down side I would say if anything.
Had an amazing time at Muskoka lakes farm. Got the all access package with the wagon tour, wine tour and plunge. Despite of the gloomy and rainy weather, we still had a great experience. Most fun of all was the plunge!!
Such a cute place to visit!! And the people that run it are super friendly!! Its open all year, except the cranberry pond-- because it freezes, but they have tractor rides, you can ice skat on the hiking trails, they have a winery etc. The cranberry pond though is definitely a must!! Soo cool! And the candied cranberries that you can buy are jusy delicious!!
Awesome! :) me Memorable experience! :)
This is our favorite winery. It's so beautiful and the wines are all amazing!
Had a lovely hike around the cranberry bog.
All season destination☀️❄????. Always buying wine there. Beautiful nature ????
Superb relaxing time and impressive cranberry local business. Recommended !!
It is famous for its cranberry picking, which you can observe. In the fall, when the harvest is in full swing, the tours available are often full, so it is best to book early. The town of Gravenhurst is nearby, and you can combine it with a steamboat tour or a brewery tour to have a great time.
If I could give ZERO stars I would. These people have no idea how to wrangle their customers. Buy a ticket to Take the Plunge and expect on waiting two hours. Wow.
Arrived to try the wine and cheese pairing. The wines were tasty and unique. The pairing was difficult as none of the cheese was labeled and there was no direction. Over all, it was okay. I wouldn’t return unless it was for the guided cranberry marsh tour.
Interesting experience at Muskoka lakes farm. We had the opportunity to experience the cranberry plunge which was fun and mostly just for pictures as it’s not very private, there’s many people in the pond at once. I do appreciate the staff takes Covid protocols very seriously even while being outside . But it does seem there are a lot of rules on where you can sit, how to book things , no one answers the phone, it’s strictly online. I do think they can lighten up and make it easier for people to attend events. Overall a decent tourist attraction
Nice place! You can go swimming in cranberrys!
Definitely worth the drive. Fun and informative tour, great little store, friendly and courteous staff. My husband and I love fruity and a bit on the sweet side wines, loved them all. They do have a Dry Muskoka Red wine made from Blueberries for those that prefer dry wines. Can't wait to go back at the Cranberry Festival at the end of September/Early October.
Chris was a super tour guide! She was friendly, knowledgeable and very personable. We really enjoyed our tour. Wonderful place to visit. Would love to return at different times of the year.
If you drive there without booking anything online, you'll have a wasted trip. The only thing open to you will be the expensive gift shop and cafe. $6. For 2 extremely small sausage rolls and $2.50 for a 6oz hot apple cider.
Informative & very friendly place. I learned alot and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Went on a wagon ride, enjoyed wine tasting, watched the sorting process, purchased products in the store, took photos of the beautiful Autumn foilage... The tour was short but the guide was very informative & welcomed questions. Everyone was very friendly.
Amazing experience. I would highly recommend this place for everyone. Service and tours was amazing and the food and wine were exceptional.
Their sparkling wine is amazing. Recommend.
The ice skating trail is a great attraction for the area. Definitely a great place to skate. The cranberry wine is also pretty good!
We waded in the Cranberry Pool!...tasted the Cranberry wines and rode their tractor pulled train around the Cranberry vineyards!
We have not visited the farm and winery yet, but we have been very satisfied with the mail-order service for the wine, preserves, and chocolate covered cranberries. The cranberry and cranberry-blueberry wines are our favorites!
Excellent products and friendly service. Beautiful place.
This place is awesome. My girlfriend has gone to the cranberry festival twice and loved it. I have visited it once and plan on going back. The late night/date night skate is awesome, hopefully they do it again next year. There were so many tiki torches! Next visit will be the hiking/snowshoe trails.
Best place to go for cranberry wines
Best place to go for cranberry wines
The cranberry plunge is amazing. I have been here many times. It's my first time to enjoy plunge. It's perfect time to walk trails here and watch maple leaf now. We like cranberry and blueberry wine. You also can find them in LCBO. The cranberry pie is great. After the epidemic lifted, I visited here again and felt as good as ever.
Incredible red and pink cranberries everywhere. The cranberry plunge is photo worthy. They are very organized and helpful to visitors. Picked up some refreshing juice, wine and fresh cranberries.
First time! Impressive. Very clean. And they follow ???? protocol. Perfect to go skating.
Very nice country setting. The wines were excellent for being made from cranberries. It's the worth the little detour off the main roads of you are in the area
The Cranberry Plunge is amazing - accentuated by the fall colours all around! I & my wife took the all inclusive pass, the wagon tour was informative & fun, plunge was great, wine tasting was ok (slightly overrated though). Staff was very helpful & courteous. Great place to soak in the fall colours with some fun!
Was here in Jan 2019, it was a wonderful place to skate around and also enjoy some warm beverages after skating.
Really nice place
Had so much fun, travelled from Whitby 2 hour travel but the sights on the way was worth it.
This place was a wonderful farm & winery for a day trip! Plenty of parking spots with attendants keeping an eye out. The Cranberry plunge was fun and definitely "Instagrammable". The mini hike was a very easy walk and scenic with the autumn leaves and everything. Each session is timed out well. There are 2 sets of equipment so while one group is doing the plunge, the other set of equipment is being disinfected. Also did a tasting and purchased some bottles of wine and jams for home. Everything was spaced out and arranged to accommodate social distancing and etc. All the staff was very helpful, kind, professional and shows that they've been in this business for a very long time! Will definitely recommend this to friends, colleagues and family. Will definitely come back again in the future.
It was a great night???? We went and skated on the1.2 km tiki torch lit pathway .. it was so nice to skate by torch and look up at the ???? star filled skies ???? Note the ice path was really nice to skate on and it was pretty smooth ????. They also had stops on the path to warm up by the fire and there was a store to buy Jam’s and wine and other fine delicious goodies there was a warm up station to get snacks.. Best of all you could ???? wine taste if you wanted too.. As long as you are Not the driver.. ????.. Honestly I would go back again.. I give this place a 5 out 5 stars ✨ ⭐️????????✨ Devine couple
Overall good. I visited them in February (I give 5 stars) and October (I give 3 stars) this year. I want to notice that the cheese plate has shrunk by 30%. Bizarre. Let's blame covid. And wine tasting... well it has only the wine component in it. Wine tasting is all about experience, selling beautiful stories, helping prospective customers to see what wine is about, what to look for in it. You guys should really learn how wine tasting is supposed to be done. And by the way, offering nothing to fresh the mouth with when switching from wine to wine is a huge overlook from you. On the bright side - everything is well organized. Dec 24, Response to the owner on their comment: 1) In fact I booked "All Access Pass - Weekends" which included guided wine tasting. If I had self-guided "wine & cheese" I would not mention lack of mouth refreshments. 2) As for the cheese plate to the best of my recollection it was missing: one type of cheese, one type of jam, shortbread and smoked meat. So what I said in the original review still holds up.
Amazing place with a great staff. Very helpful and friendly.
Gets really busy during Thanksgiving / holiday times. Couldn’t find any parking at all (we arrived around 12). Also waited for about 1 hour for the “plunge” aka their main attraction where you stand in the cranberry marsh. Lotsa people in line were suggesting a timed visit for each group on the plunge because everyone was literally taking a billion photos and the line did not move at all. Maybe a timed 10-15 mins per group would help during peak seasons.
Went to this winery for the first time last week to try (and ultimately purchase) a cranberry or cranberry blend wine - and it was great!! The Cranberry-Blueberry blend of wine was the best, White Cranberry & the regular Cranberry coming in as second & third. This is a very unique product that is only produced in the Muskoka area. Definitely worth checking out!
Nice hiking trails
Awesome place to visit during October
The plunge is the best!!!
Absolutely worth the drive to Bala. Charming family run farm. 7.5km of trails to enjoy, along with tractor tour and wine tasting. We'll be back for a winter skate on the frozen cranberry bogs, followed by a camp fire picnic!
Was there for cranberry festival..was a really good experience. Take cash along with u they don't accept cards. If not wrong it was 40$ per head( price might change)
The place is well done
Very beautiful place in every season!
Love their cranberry wine. Tart, not to sweet.
Lovely service and knowledgeable staff. Nice place to visit, good wine to taste.
Great way to spend the day skating, outside fire pits, snow shoeing..
Beautiful place and welcoming staff. The sleigh ride and wine tasting was a wonderful experience. The property is worth visiting, the owner of the property itself took us for the sleigh ride who was a humble person. The food was yumm with piping hot mulled wine. We spent only couple of hours there but the experience was memorable. Note: we were there as travellers not tourists, your experience may change according to the expectation. Keep travelling!
My story with Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery is a bit strange as we both winery and I had mishap with delivery by Canada Post (not a winery fault at all) and we had to deal with that. Not going in a lot of details here I would say everything was resolved to our mutual satisfaction!! I'm very very pleased!! Thank you Winery, your products are amazing and definitely going to visit your place myself! Cannot wait, weather permit!
A great year-round local attraction! From the wine tasting and tours throughout the summer to the skating trail and mulled wine by the fire pit in the winter you will want to drop in when you are in the area. Friendly, knowledgeable staff will help you gain a better appreciation for the cranberry. Don’t miss the cranberry festival the weekend after Thanksgiving (Canada) in October. Definitely worth the visit!
Nice.
2020 Fall edition: Here we went again, it is quite this year and the place is almost empty, most activities required pre-book except shopping in the store. But the farm staff continuously keep everything neat and production run as scheduled. Same Cranberry products and amazing taste, it is worth to empty your bank account for those Cranberry products!!! 2019 Fall edition: They got the best Cranberry you can find within 2 hours drive time from GTA area. I searched all the supermarket including Costco, none of them have better Dried Cranberries than this location!!!
Came here over the weekend for a Cranberry festival, was very crowded, but well coordinated parking, and very organized. Overall nice, new experience, good trails! But wagon ride doesn’t really worse $10 honestly. It would take you around Cranberry field, like 15 minutes and that’s it. Only good stories from Bob made it better! You can have such trip for free at any pumpkins farm. Ladies at wine tasting had attitude like “what do you want from me”? They would even talk to you, just poured wine and go. I don’t know why such attitude. But we will come back in winter for skating and snowshoeing for sure!
If you are a cranberry fan.. this is the place for you. Cranberry wine, sausage, jellies, tarts and soo much more.. Yumm.
The first time to see how cranberry growing and they make cranberry juice and wine
Awesome place to spend an afternoon. We took the cranberry plunge and walked the trails. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The perfect spot for some outdoor fun during the pandemic. Not too crowded but you need to book ahead. The ice trail is well maintained. The washroom was acceptable. Don't forget to visit the shop to get a nice bottle of cranberry vine.
Delightful
We had a lot of fun going here there's always a lot of different attractions at certain times of the year and lots of snacks and wine and nice to see all the different cranberries white and red ones!!
Nice place!
I’m really happy I found this Gem! Owners were welcoming and they accommodated us the last minute. We enjoyed the patio seating! Great cheese selection. We got one dry and one sweet flight, both were great and we enjoyed every shot. If I ever visit Muskoka again I will make sure This Winery is the first place on my checklist !
Fantastic hiking trails with great nature info markers. Gift shop is worth the drive for their unique blueberry and cranberry wines.
This is a must for all who visit Muskoka! Fantastic and informative tours available everyday. Hiking trails in summer and an ice skating trail in winter. The WINES! Oh my the wines are superb! All sweet fruit wines, the blueberry and the blueberry/cranberry blend being the best IMO. The maple cranberry desert wine was a unique find also. The staff were lovely as well. The gift shop has every amazing cranberry novelty you can think of, including cheese, fudge, jams and jellies, chutney, salad dressing, even candles and soap! THE PICS REALLY TELL IT ALL. LOL
Great experience
Excellent place for a day trip
Amazing place! Hot malt wine is amazing!
Great skate trail, amazing wine, we're definitely returning for the snowshoeing and grilled cheese
Great tours and staff loved the wine tasting and samples as well.
Wow it was so nice and I loved the cranberry plong. Beautiful, we had a camp fire and enjoyed our day. Would love to go back there again and again!
Well groomed trails, friendly & knowledge staff and the grilled cheese with cranberry cheddar was very good. Only down side was it was a bit pricy ($10/person for a trail pass). Would recommend going for the night skating.
Drove up 3 hours to have our prepaid and prebooked session cancelled on the spot. Apparently a common occurrence. Emailed to request a refund, but no response. Sent a message over Facebook and was told “no refunds” in more words.
We spent our second anniversary here. We did snow shoeing and then enjoyed mulled wine and spiked cider outside by the fire. The grill cheese was amazing! It was such a romantic date and I am so happy we chose this place. The staff was very friendly and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. The signs were a little confusing trying to find where the snow shoe rentals were but no big deal. We will return!
Wonderful family tour for all age groups. Items are a bit pricey but good quality.
Arrived to try the wine and cheese pairing. The wines were tasty and unique. The pairing was difficult as none of the cheese was labeled and there was no direction. Over all, it was okay. I wouldn’t return unless it was for the guided cranberry marsh tour.
Great wine tasting experience, incredibly friendly staff, and well marked trails to explore. We loved the surprise carvings along the pioneer trail - they should make more! While hiking we ran into two of the staff driving on a machine and we stopped to chat about the wildlife, their daily work, and neat things to keep an eye out for on the trail. Our friend’s dog just LOVED it! Got the chance to stock up on some delicious cranberry rose as well ???? ????
Friendly and helpful staff, some rather novel stuff to see (for me, at least), and some nice hiking trails. Note that they charge $5/person for a trail pass.
Nice experience
Great property and tons of fun. Especially, if you come from the city.
Cute and unique experience tasting cranberry wine. Super friendly staff. Great wine!
Great family time skating on the marsh, followed by a 5km snowshoe hike. Amazing staff and beautiful setting. My wife and I enjoyed the cliff jump cider as well. Definitely will come back.
We did the weekend package (wagon tour, wine tasting, plunge experience). It was well organized and worth every pennies. Tips: Go line up early if you want smaller wader. The smallest wader is women size 7/ men size 9, and they would run out first. Bigger size would still work on petite people but looks a little odd on photos.
Nice place to visit. The walking tour was shorter than I expected but was nice.
Stopped by since we wanted to get the Bala experience. Unfortunately all the reviews were true - the older lady at the store is very abrupt. There was no issue with the things she had to say. She was reminding my mother buying a can of craft cider that she had to take it home to drink - if she wanted to drink on property, she would have to buy it by the glass. A totally legitimate warning. However, her tone and attitude with her delivery was terrible. And made the entire experience very unpleasant. A friendly tone, even with the same words would have made all the difference. A pity. Especially since everything is a premium price. Which would be better accompanied with a more customer-oriented experience.
My first cranberry farm experience ------------------------------------------------------- I like this place. I know so little about cranberry-growing - so it's nice to see it all in action. Have been by here a couple of times. Love the little storefront shop they keep. A nice assortment of cranberry-related products to choose from. In particular, I like their soap bars. There are small rough pieces of what appears to be dried cranberry shell incorporated into their bar soap. Nicely scented / makes for good scubbing with the tiny hard bits in it.
Not overly friendly. Prices were a bit high maybe too much staff to pay for ?
Had a nice time at the skating trail loop. Ice was a little bumpy, but they have fires and benches around for you to stop at. The winery is super cute in the winter, offering mulled wine, warm cider & hot chocolate. Lots of rentals available too! Their Instagram page is always current to let you know when/if the trail is open. Also enjoyed the cute gift store with tons of cranberry items!
Great place to explore! My girlfriend and I took the Bog to Bottle tour and wine tasting (available seperately) and really enjoyed learning about and seeing how this farm works and the wonderful products they create! I would highly recommend a visit and will be returning for the other tours next harvest!
The plunge was alot of fun. Would do it again
This is a fun place to visit with lots to see during every season. Skating and snow shoeing is so fun in the winter. I highly recommend taking a drive up from wherever you are. Alway a great family experience.
Just dropped in. Bought stuff in the store. Saw the cranberry fields
My fiancé and I just did a wine tasting. It was really nice. The location was super cute. The host was very informative and answered all our questions. The wine was delicious really, unique and exciting flavors. Highly recommend.
My family and I were here on Labor Day Monday this year. It is a nice area to walk around but the service was horrendous. The woman at the bar seemed quite irritated that we asked for a simple glass of their cranberry wine. I’ve never seen attitude like that for placing an order. We will not be returning.
Nice
DISAPPOINTED!!!! Another Cranberry Festival has come and gone and again my friends and I were in attendance. It was a beautiful weekend and I am sure with great success for your marsh You do have a beautiful establishment and we very much enjoyed in the past. Now this being said this year I believe you have made a big mistake. Changes and price increases are inevitable and everyone understands this. But the way you did this, IS TRICKERY. You are trying to foul the people on your price increase. TICKETS $2 EACH in large print and smaller print for attractions........ 3 TICKETS WAGON RIDE , 4 TICKETS BOG WALK. Why not just tell the people the price $6 or $8. I don’t understand why you would this confusing way to have people do the math as they stand to pay. Most people are elderly and lots of tourists. I was so greatly disappointed, as were my friends and I can assure you, I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE. I did not make a fuss with your employee’s. They are in the front line having to take all the complaints....not fair for them. In summary this has put me in a damper coming to your marsh! I had respected for the Johnson name….I know question this. Also all cranberry bags were large – no small to be found. I can tell you, you lost sales there. Good luck in the future. I will always attend the festival but unsure if I will ever go back to your marsh or buy your product at the festival in town. You can only trick me once!
Dont drive like a dough head in your red jeep if you are going to advertise your company on the back..
A busy place! Lots of things for all ages to enjoy. Easy, fast checkout.
Update: I got in contact with them and they refunded the purchase which we appreciated. We had a great time hiking, wine tasting and shopping. Until we went to enjoy the cheese we purchased that they couldn't include with the wine tasting...it had expired TWO MONTHS before we even visited!! Cheese has such a long shelf life we didn't think to check the date. They upsold expired and expensive cheese during their tasting....
Lots of fun! Got to see the cranberry fields and see how they're grown. The cranberry sausages with the cranberry chutney was delicious. And the blueberry cranberry wine was amazing! I would definitely go again
Had a great time wine tasting is great. Bought 7 bottles was a good day!!!
Amazing place for a day trip with family or loved ones. Winter time has such nice skating and it is very organized.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the wine tastings!! Great selection to choose from.
Great place to visit and learn about harvesting Cranberry
Learn how cranberries are grown. Sample cranberry wine.
Cranberry plunge is a must visit
Did the cranberry plunge with friends, it was a lot of fun! The scenery alone is worthwhile, very peaceful and interesting to learn about their unique way of farming cranberries. The staff was incredibly accommodating when we arrived past our check-in time due to construction traffic. I recommend the cranberry splash wine spritzer and the white chocolate covered dried cranberries!
Amazing experience must visit !
They can’t fold boxes correctly. Missed a flap and my expensive bottles of cranberry juice dropped out. Fortunately only broke one.
I look a hike along one of the gorgeous trails and snapped some pictures. I was too late to sign up for the guided farm tour but I was able to learn all about the farming process by reading the placards on the grounds. I also bought a lot of tasty things from the store! All in all it was a lovely trip!
Lots of different fun events to do, the tracker tour was beautiful interesting and entertaining. All the staff were super nice, and there were so many different cranberry items for sale. The raspberry cranberry fudge was 10/10
Their "all-access pass" is a massive rip-off. $55 per person PLUS they charge you an extra $10 for your vehicle. We got a 10-15 minute wagon ride, a 10-minute wine tasting with barely a sip in some of the cups, and the cranberry plunge which was alright. If it was $20-30 per person maybe that would be acceptable but they're completely ripping people off.
We dropped by spontaneously end of November. We found them open and very friendly. Wine tasting was great, with good quality local wines and good recommendations for the region. Quite informative and we come back for cranberry harvest for the experience! For an even better experience during the wine tasting some seating would be great as well as some cheese and crackers to breat up the tast of rhe wines, even if it meant extra charges.
We visited Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery in early June, and it was really a wonderful place to visit for a day trip! They had only one staff working due to the pandemic. She was very kind and friendly. They follow all safety protocols during the Covid-19. We purchased few bottles of Pure Cranberry Juice and Sparkling Apple Cranberry Cider (Non-Alcoholic). This non-alcoholic sweet cider was made in Ontario, Canada. We loved the taste!! We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. We will definitely come back again in the fall season in the near future.
Very reasonable prices here
It's a nice place to see how cranberries grow and wine tasting. Abd you don't need to pay the entrance fee unless you want to join the tours which very reasonable for people who just want to visit the store only.
Very nice spot. We enjoyed the trails, particularly the blue one. Staff was helpful. Unfortunately we couldn’t signed up for the wine tasting, because it was booked off. Please note that on this farm, you cannot just show up and have a wine tasting, you need to book it beforehand online. The products they sell in their little boutique are quite pricey.
This was a birthday gift from my boyfriend. We were so excited to try this out. We drove 3 hrs to get here to only have 10-15 minutes of each activity. I wish online it would of told us it was only that long. I feel for 55 dollars each is a lot when you get a rushed feeling when you’re here.
Unique, picturesque and a great experience. Wine tasting a must!!!
Not the best experience. Decided to do the "tasting". Our host behind the counter would only pour a splash of each wine into our glass. There was no way to have a good taste/feel for the wines. Bought a bottle in the retail store regardless plus other items resulting in a $50.00 bill, yet we were still charged the $6.00 tasting fee. Tasting fee's are usually waived if product is purchased. Won't be back!
Most interesting....
Family like staffs, definitely they are having an ice rink one of a kind. Moreover, they will offer you many different kinds of tasty wines, too. Great place to visit as families, friends and couples. It was for sure worthed to make all the way to the place from Toronto.
What a great place.. Enjoyed the wine tasting, food and experience. Very friendly people.
The tour was great.. Staff outstanding... The wine tasting... the best..???? This winery is a place to go to. Nice to be able to buy the wine right there. Will be back..????????
If I give it 5 stars it would be for Audrey. We did enjoy the experience of the wine tasting, Audrey, is so pleasant to be around , made us feel welcome. On the other hand the lady at the store was not welcoming at all, we opened the door to see if there was customers shopping inside as we can't see thru the glass reflection, she sounded rude and unwelcoming . We did our shopping at the store after waiting patiently, and we were pleased to see Audrey back inside at the checkout counter, she made that visit well worth it. Will be visiting there again.
A pleasant and friendly place exactly as adbetized and with very nice people. A good assortment of outdoor activities. Lots of cranberry-based treats to take home as well.
Chris was fantastic. Really enjoyed the tasting. Part of the essential Muskoka experience.
We saw this “winery” show up on the map, as we were driving through the area, and decided to stop for a tasting. We showed up, and found out you had to sign up, which we ended up being too late for, by 15 minutes. They told us we could stay for a glass, but the whole point was we wanted to try their wines to know what to buy...like at any other winery (FYI...this place doesn’t actually have any wines...they have “fruit wines”). We asked if we could buy a flight of wines, which they told us they weren’t set up for ...which I still don’t get, since they do tastings. Long story short - everything was kind of a disappointment. In a tourist area, what would make someone think they had to book a tasting ahead of time, with only about 3 options available per day...and not even being a “winery” like expected. The employees inside the store weren’t very welcoming either. It’s frustrating, because with a tasting, I still would have bought some bottles, but after the service and experience, I just lost the desire to try more of their things.
We stopped here on a tour with Muskoka Craft Brewery Tours. I recommend stopping here. I love wine and cider! I just do not like Cranberries unless i have a bladder infection!
My boyfriend and I came up for lunch and an afternoon of snowshoeing. Good food on their winter menu, he had the chili, I had grilled cheese. Lots of trail options, we covered most of them. Wonderful winter afternoon
I am extremely dissapointed by the service here. I came with my parents for a wine tasting, and at the time, we were the only customers. The three women there were rude and seemed annoyed that we had even walked in. They seemed more preoccupied with rushing us to finish our tasting than providing good customer service. The woman that seemed to be the manager or owner treated us like we were inconveniencing her. Though the wines were fine, and we would have bought several, the customer service was so off-putting that we would rather just purchase it at the LCBO.
A great way to spend a winter day! A well maintained skating “trail” although I was disappointed with it being just a big circle. Besides that I loved the snowshoeing trails and the little shop with cute items and yummy treats! Very good value for the cost of a pass ! My family and friends make a yearly trip
Really disappointed. Expected better experience. Won't be back
Visited for a private plunge in the cranberry bog. It was a fantastic experience! The property is lovely and it is interesting to learn about cranberry farming. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. I found the piecemeal pricing to be annoying.
We were visitors this past weekend and our family was looking forward to a winter experience at your farm. We were hoping to skate but unfortunately the weather conditions did not cooperate, we then looked forward to the tour and wine tasting. Upon our arrival, the staff working in the store did not greet us very warmly and made us feel that we were imposing somehow. My intentions here are not to mean or rude but for your future customers sake, I would not want anyone else to be treated how we were. Trooper the dog was the only friendly staff member. We loved the location, fire and wine experience. Keep up the great work Trooper!
Awesome place!
Second time coming back, and loved it! Less busy than expected due to the rain but I love the trails and wetlands. The wine is so freaking good it’s not even funny. This is definitely worth the trip and I’ll be back in the fall for the cranberry festival!
Great farm! Great wine! Great experience!
Awesome place to visit
Beautiful skating but don't buy the mulled wine . Purchased 2 cups which they filled half way and then when I asked was told that's how they do it!
A group of five of us were visiting the area and we called to book a tour/tasting. We were told we would not be welcome and were discriminated against.
One of the best place in all of Muskoka!
Fun to your around and see the process of harvesting the cranberries. Went for the cranberry festival. Delicious dried cranberries made and sold there.

Such a fun day.
Need better parking instructions. Check lines before buying passes.

They have safety restrictions well in place to keep everyone safe. Even though before harvest they have a good selection of product.
Great Wine and Cheese patio !! Lot's of nice cranberry and blueberry wines
It was fun but could have better pricing to get 5 star
great cranwine and very kind people
I was expecting a bit more, at least of courtesy... Staff did not seem in the mood for working, selection of items was not bad, pricing I found a bit overpriced...
Great place - friendly staff - nice facility
Creative and interesting winery and more.
Nice place with cranberry products
Took my wife here for our anniversary overall amazing experience !!
Very welcoming, and kind staff. We booked the fire pit and skating option. The ice was excellent, and the snacks were delicious. It was a great idea for a family! The firewood was a challenge to stay lit due to weather and dampness but once we had it going it was great. Would not recommend for young families- my children are 9 and 13, which seemed to be a great age. Not a great skating option for really young children learning to skate.
Had a great time everyone was lovely very clean lots of pride had a great date with my love
Great place for couples to come and take pictures. Fun experience. The water is a quite stinky not sure why.

You can just park your car by roadside and have a glance of their roadside marsh / Farm whatever they call it. That is pretty much what they do in the name of tour and charge you 15$ pp plus tax. They have no clue of what needs a tour. Definitely not their roadside bush, rusted 1940s dodge and a turtle in their mud puddle. If there is going to be no harvest or even berries growing in July you should not be having tours and charging people for this. We were a family of 7 and imagine our frustration and feeling of being looted for this awful place. I feel pity for one more family that had come from Mexico.
