Au Vieux Duluth is my go to restaurant in Cornwall. It is where I meet coworkers after work, get together with friends, have celebrations and quick lunches. Alex even started dinner and a show this year with comedians and other entertainers, it's become date night too. Now, it is our stay-at-home restaurant with pick up and delivery. The food is always fresh, packed with flavours and large portions. The service is always perfect, the staff very welcoming and pleasant. Kudos to Bianca, Maureen and Joanne to name a few. Our favourites are butterfly shrimp, poulet au grilloir and chicken brochette. I love their house salad and my husband loves their ceasar salad. Try it out, you won't regret it!

Was very disappointed tonight with the food. I ordered mince meat platter and my son ordered seafood. Usually when I order it takes twenty minutes and everything is very fresh. This time it looked to be reheated . My mince meat was tough and tasted burnt. The potatoes were not fresh looked to be sitting there for a long time. I didn't complain but my son did. They brought another order of shrimp and again looked like it was frozen and cooked not fresh. Restaurant did not charge us for shrimp. The owner I'm surprised he didn't come and talk with us! Also noticed him in kitchen eating, very unprofessional..... Will not return for a long time...

Had dinner at AVD in Cornwall this past Monday. The food was great and portions were generous. We've eaten here several times over the past few months. Service is great - friendly and attentive. I've been meaning to write a review since our visit in June. We had walked to the restaurant from our hotel. When it was time to leave, it was pouring rain. We mentioned to our server that we hoping to wait out the rain. The next thing we knew, Alexandre, the owner/manager offered to drive us back. Told us to take our time and when we were ready, he gave us a ride. Service above and beyond. Two thumbs up to AVD.

I have been there, good food. However they changed their hours and put up an open blinking sign and when some friends and I came by to have a meal the host ignored us at the locked outer doors, and she didnt even get a glance our way to acknowledge we were there. The outside had no posted hours and the open sign was on, saturday at 3pm. They obviously didn't care about the disabled person that was standing in the cold because we didn't Google ahead of time to check their hours. I felt disrespected and won't be going back out of principle, i will not support a business that disregards the humans that they want money from. For their prices they should be able to afford a sign that tells the hours so people that struggle with walking do not have to get out of their cars in infinite pain to be ignored by the host or manager.

Pauline, my wife, and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience this past Tuesday. We ordered the Seafood Linguini and it did not disappoint. My wife commented, "HE does the cooking at home and if it pleases his palate, then it has to be good!" We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary appetizer! Food was adequate but a few things left a bad taste in our mouths. On the menu it states that if you want to share a main it’s an extra $7..which seems ridiculous if you’re not too hungry or you’re not big eaters. We opted not to pay and ordered two entrees..neither of us finished. The Chicken brochette was very delicious. However my Traditional Pork Souvlaki was just mediocre..the salad that came with it was awful. Soggy and not fresh at all and was not the Greek salad I was imagining. Our server however was quite nice but we still won’t be back.

So great to experience fine dining in a lovely setting, after a long period of isolation. The s hrimp dish with house salad, rice and V.D. signature potato wedges were all delicious. Service was excellent, and the cook made regular rounds to check on clients' satisfaction. Thanks Vieux Duluth! A bright spot in this weary pandemic.

Food is fair in price and of course tasty if your into garlic but just about every dish has a salad involved as a filler, menu needs a little upgrade. Lots of parking and quite roomy inside and the service is friendly. Decent place and you can bring your own wine.

Either the chef's taste buds are dead or he doesn't taste anything he prepares. Everything was so overly salty. I sent my soup back and almost sent my pasta back because the chicken in them was also so salty is was barely eatable. Also, if Ontario Covid measures are anything like Quebec's, none of the measures were respected. We we surrounded by occupied tables on all sides. Servers don't even bother wiping down the debit machine between clients. Salt and pepper shakers never leave the tables so you're touching the preceding clients germs. Awfull experience. I wish we just got up and left.

We stopped here for lunch, and the food was great, and we enjoyed the clean and peaceful atmosphere. Prices were decent, and the lunch time specials were great and often included soup, or salad and a drink, so the slightly higher pricing came with a lot of value if your looking for a full lunch. They also had less inclusive lunch options as well, and had food for people that like Greek and regular mainstream options like chicken fingers. I had a good lunch here, and the gyros are very authentic and tasty!

My wife and I attended a large family get-together and face-stuffing at the Au Vieux Duluth (evening of September 7th). We were a crowd of 10 people but this didn't faze our wonderful waitress: she served us with a perfection that is very hard to find these days. The food was excellent! On a previous visit with a similar family group about a year ago the Calamari entree was something of a failure but this time round the chef sent us a Calamari plate that would make Jacques Pepin PROUD! I would have given this greek restaurant a 5 out of 5 but because there was no lamb on the menu (a greek staple) I am forced to hand out a 4...but this in no way takes away from the wonderfulness of this restaurant! We will return soon enough!!!
