(This is a review for the location actually on Pelee Island) Fun for kids and non-drinkers, too! I'm not a wine drinker, but I enjoyed my time here and so did my school-age daughter. The winery is also a great place to have a picnic and hang out. There is a play structure for the kids and some fun giant barrels you can sit inside. You're also able to sample all the different varieties of grapes grown by the winery. For the drinkers, you get 3 complementary tastings. If you purchase, be sure to specify whether you want to drink there or take it to go!

For the first time being on the Island and first time coming to this winery, I really enjoyed my experience there. The wine and food was great, and service was fantastic. Amazing to see such a vast collection of wines sold there and how many people are there on weekends. Regardless of how busy it was, our server behind the tasting bar was great. I am sorry I dont remember her name, but she had black hair with blonde highlights. She was very knowledgeable with the wine presented to us and made every minute there an enjoyable experience. Please let her know that! Thank you Pelee Winery Staff! Can't wait to come back!

Ahh the maker of Island Time! The Kingsville location offers a tour of their facility and tasting as well. I always enjoy seeing how different vineyards make their wine. Lots to look around at while waiting for the tour to start as well. Saturday tours were at noon, 2pm and 4pm with no reservation required but call ahead to see how busy it is. We skipped the noon tour as it had over 30 people in it!

Warning: The winery and the entire island closes at 4:00 pm during peak season (September). We took the 2 pm Ferry only to have to turn around and leave 15 mins later. Don't be fooled by the additional Ferry schedule, It is for crop transportation not tourists. Definitely not the same NOTL experience. No hours are posted on ANY tourism websites or the winery itself. The one star is for feeling misled although we heard wonderful things about the winery and love their wines. We traveled 3 hours by car and an hour by boat just to turn around and go home. Extremely disappointing anniversary.

Our hostess at Driftwood Bed and Bagel gave a coupon which made the tour free. It was an interesting tour although I would have liked more history. The tasting was very well done with cheese and bread. We stayed for the BBQ and split the salmon and the steak - each for $12 which came with bread and a potato or pasta salad - the big savings is being able to purchase your wine on site to enjoy with your meal. It was a pleasant enough time and I would do it again.

I don't even know how to begin except by saying this experience took my breath away. First, our group didn't really know what to expect. We booked a reservation for 5 through Opentable and was not disappointed. We signed up for a wine tasting and experienced a sensation of flavours. The hostess (Beverly) was extremely kind and enthusiastic. Beverly was very helpful and gave us a great assortment of tastings. From white, to sparkling, rose to red, this winery had it all and the ambience/service to boot. Overall, you cannot miss it, a MUST TRY experience.

This could be a 5 star if I didn't have the experience of the manager(Short blonde hair and glasses?). A group of girls including myself went over to enjoy the winery. As we arrived we noticed there was a marathon which was great because that would mean more people going to the winery. We walked in and the girls working behind the bar were super excellent and knowledgeable about the wine we were trying. We picked out the bottles of wine we enjoyed, purchased them and sat in the barrel(There's big wine barrels with a booth in them! Super cool!). My group can get loud(what girls can't? haha) hence why we secluded ourselves in this barrel not to disturb anyone. As we were enjoying our time people would open the door and state how cool the barrel was asked for pictures and some joined us for a drink. So the door was constantly being opened. The manager told us earlier that there would be a line of people since there was a barbeque and we told her that's fine since we were content in the barrel, the other one was located right near the fryer and the patio had no seats. She was extremely rude and left us be. The second encounter she angrily opened the door and started "Girls out of the barrel. Nope get out, you've had enough time in there". We again stated the same thing so she told us "you need to keep this door closed" it was hard to do that when people were opening it and looking in and there was no handle inside to shut it! She stood directly outside of our barrel for almost the rest of our time there. Completely unpleasant lady. There were people coming up to us saying how unpleasant she was to us and how rude she was so it obviously wasn't just us thinking that. There was never a line up outside of our barrel either. Completely unnecessary the way we were treated. Beautiful place. Awful manager.

I probably won't order online anymore though because I had to wait in my house for 2 days because I didn't want to miss the delivery man. While biking around the island our group thought having lunch at the winery, perhaps a tour, perhaps a few samples, would be a great idea and the food was supposed to be great. The place looks beautiful and there is a lovely area where they serve samples and patrons can buy and consume a bottle on the property. We are not huge wine drinkers so the sample received was more than enough and we were hungry from our ride. We looked at the menu and decided to order. The attitude of the staff was darn right rude at the counter. Apparently whatever you order they had it to you raw and you cook it yourself. We asked for modest changes such as making a meat dish vegetarian we were told no. So we ordered 2 fish dishes and 2 veggie burgers. We were handed abruptly a meat burger and a piece of fish. We also had to ask them for the salad that comes with it. All in all a negative experience brought down by the awful attitude of the staff and their manager. We took the time to inform her and she seemed to not care. Frankly their snarky attitude ruined the whole place for us. This is unfortunate as the place could be so nice.

A great place to come and taste wines while grilling your own meat, listening to live music, sitting in a barrel; it's a perfect place to spend the afternoon and a reason enough to visit the island, just be sure to drink as much water as you do wine if you're driving :)

My husband and I visited the winery on our own and not part of s tour. We weee told to move to the end of their tasting bar as the central spots were for yours. We were hosted by an unsmiling server. We asked her if she had a long day and she replied ' Yes, but it's over soon.' We tasted wines and luckily have some wine knowledge because none was offered. It seems that they are the' 'big' winery in the area and so customer service is not necessary. Disappointing!!!

We traveled over to Pelee Island from Toronto excited to try the Pavilion - sadly, despite the beautiful setting - the atmosphere was 'loud and rowdy' and as we walked into the main entrance there was a large group of drunk teenagers yelling and clutching bottles of wine. Nothing against teens or folks having fun, it just wasn't the environment we were expecting. It felt like more of a casual locals bar, rather than a place to go for a relaxing wine tasting experience.

Amazing, delicious Canadian wine with interesting variety and reasonable prices. Customer service is exceptional: rewards for loyal customers. Prompt and easy free delivery. Their response to problems (broken bottle in one delivery) was excellent: rec’d prompt replacement plus extra for inconvenience. Only suggestion? Low alcohol, low sugar wines! That’s the only product I shops elsewhere for.

Was so excited to go to the winery after it being closed for so long and had the worst experience. My 3 friends and I had a drink or two prior to arriving and we were having such a lovely day on the island. We arrive at the winery order our tasting and charcuterie board and sat down at the picnic table. After siting for 5 minutes two of the works decide that we are too ‘intoxicated’ and we can only have water and cheese (sorry for laughing and having a good time)… literally had 2 seltzer’s before arriving. Also you can’t buy any glasses of wine or bottles, you can stay for 45 minutes have 1 tasting and 1 charcuterie board… won’t be going back there for a while lol. Never have I ever been cut off without ACTUALLY being drunk. What a waste of time and money!

We love Pelee Island Winery! We first ordered online from them back in March when the pandemic shutdown was in full force. they have a great selection of quality wine at a reasonable price. Everything else we were ordering online took a long time to process and receive. We were shocked when our wine arrived in less than three days. We thought it must have been a fluke but it happened again the next time. And the next. These guys really have their act together. In fact, even their packaging is exceptionable. I dropped one case and nothing broke because of the care they put into how they do things. It will be a long time before I bother going back to the LCBO to buy wine.

Love their wine! The new Bella rose is fantastic! We live out of town and went for the 2pm tour yesterday but arrived a bit late at 2:08 and asked to join the tour in progress. No tour had started because no one was there, and the manager said they couldn’t start one a few minutes late. It was just weird if they had the staff available and willing to run the tour for us, that the manager would say no like that. I guess its our own fault for being 8 min late but they would have run it for two people either way... maybe we’ll be back in a few years next time we’re in town.

This is such an awesome spot to hang out, relax and enjoy yourself. On weekends there’s live entertainment from 2-6pm with lots of singing and dancing. On weekdays, it’s a nice quiet place to enjoy a glass or two of wine and you can play one of the many games they offer like Cribbage, Jenga, Kerplunk etc. There’s a playground for the kids to enjoy and the Deli food is delicious and very inexpensive! It is very well managed and the staff are extremely polite and accommodating. The new management has added nice touches around the pavilion like ferns, fresh herbs for pizza and flower gardens. It is a “Must Do” experience while on the island. Thank you to all the staff for always making our visits a great time!!

The setting is very pretty and the wine good. The food not so much. We had planned our trip to the Island to include lunch at the winery. There is a nice selection of snack foods but if you want something more you have to cook it yourself. We were handed our food frozen solid and directed to cook it on the barbeques on site. They were all filthy and many were low in fuel. Not a pleasant experience at all.

I did not visit The Pelee Island Winery, but received a Gift bottle of Lola Nero from my daughter in law. I don't usually drink red wine but absolutely loved this sparkling red delicacy. Sine it was not available at our liquor store I ordered a case. It arrived in a few days, ordering was easy and there was no delivery fee. When this wine is used up, I will definitely order it this way again.

The Winery is great however the manager is absolutely terrible. She was extremely rude and hostile to us. There were 2 groups of customers complaining about her when we left as well. All other staff members were extremely pleasant they deserve 5 stars. The Winery should replace her as I can see many complaints with the same issues online.

Pelee Island is a lil piece of paradise. The PIW tour was v informative and we had an awesome guide. The facility has changed a lot; the grounds aren"t being maintained, they make you cook your own food now but don"t indicate this upon ordering- deceptive. The staff at the wine tasting were very nice but those at the deli/food stand, not so much. We didn"t like the owner/managers dogs running around us begging while eating. When guest asked her to get her dogs she was v sarcastic and rude.

I placed an online order for eight bottles of wine and when the package was delivered, I found only seven bottles had been shipped. In contacting the winery, a very pleasant individual apologized for the error and said that he would ship the missing bottle immediately plus another bottle for my inconvenience. It's not often you get customer service like that! I just received word from FedEx today that the package will be delivered tomorrow. My wife and I have visited the winery several times and have always had a pleasant experience.

Prior to and especially during the pandemic we have taken to ordering our wine online from Pelee Island Winery. The service has been absolutely spot on. Within a couple of days the orders arrive via Fed-Ex to our door. We have also placed orders to be delivered to family who live as far away as Alberta and with the same results. We visited the winery in October 2021. The staff were all amazing, helping us choose the right wines for our tasting, letting us know which wines weren't available in the LCBO, and making sure we signed up for the Birthday Day club. Sitting in the winery was lovely! We have since ordered from the winery website, and our order came very quickly, even though it's Christmas time. I will definitely order again! I was really looking forward to receiving this order, however, the box got to my house in very rough shape and even the courier said he would note it on the file that the box was destroyed just in case anything was broken inside. Sure enough, 3 bottles were broken. I have emailed several different addresses at Pelee but no one has contacted me yet. Update: They've reached out to me and offering a refund or replacement and I truly believe that great customer service is always revealed when less than something ideal happens. I'll definitely be a return customer!!

The wine shop here is really nice. Well laid out. It is large, bright and spacious with a great selection of their wine as well as an uncramped and roomy tasting area. Wonderful to visit Pelee Island Winery on the island in the summer or fall! The ferry trip is such a bonus. When you can't visit due to COVID, their online ordering is so easy & usually free shipping too! (They ship right across Canada). Staff is wonderful in person & on-line. Product line is extensive for every taste & pocketbook & the quality is consistently excellent with their vineyards being on same latitude as Northern California complemented by the moderating lake effect weather. The stars I allotted are for the wine itself, which have always been great. Just bought and received their Valentine's Day package. I won't lie, it's a little disappointing. 4 x 375 ml bottles and a dismal sample size of cheese, 1 slice of salami (cut into little pieces) and 4 small bread sticks. It comes with 2 pelee branded glasses, and "tasting" cards that literally say smell it, note the aromas, taste it. When I bought the package I at least thought it would include a written description of the wines, their flavour palette and what to eat with each wine so that the complexities of the wine come out. But it didn't. It's almost like there was no thought put into this "tasting" package. I could have spent the money, purchased full bottles of wine and looked up descriptions myself and called it a wine tasting.

A great winery in Southwestern Ontario. We have had the pleasure of visiting the Kingsvill location as well as the vineyard on Pelee Island and found both to be very quaint. The staff at both locations are very friendly as well as knowledgeable. They make your visit very pleasant. Recently we have ordered wine via the Internet and have found that to be a very easy and seamless experience. The wine arrived very quickly and was packed very well. We were also able to trace our package along its Journey as well. All in all they make ordering wine simply a breeze. If you're looking for some great wines that will be delivered quickly and efficiently try these guys out. We recommend the VQA Gewurztraminer Reserve but by all means feel free to try out their entire selection of whites or red's you will not be disappointed. Ross & Mary

Visit was great...girls behind the tasting bar were friendly and knowledgeable. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of a lady who I believed was the manager...short with blonde hair and glasses. As we were cashing out our selected bottles she was visibly annoyed with a wedding party that had come in a little later than expected for their tasting. She (quite loudly) explained to us that the wedding party was half an hr late and they would "just have to wait" because the tour was about to start at 4pm and "these people take priority over the wedding party because they paid". Um...you don't think the wedding cost anything!?...very rude.

Great service, expert packaging, and all the way from SW Ontario to Ottawa in just 2 days! I would highly recommend delivery service from Pelee Island Winery if you cannot get out to the stores or visit in person!

Purchased on line multiple times trying to support local business. Generally OK with their products and shipping. But bought 2 Holiday Gift Packs recently after seeing the pictures on the web site with beautiful gift boxes and their logo, and thought they would be perfect gifts for Christmas. Turned out they did NOT come with any gift box, which is obviously for displaying that picture on their site only. This is misleading and they should have stated on their site that gift boxes are not included. Very disappointed and may not buy again. Buyers please be aware.
