Had the calamari and beet salad. Both were delicious, the calamari was crispy and very tender. Not greasy at all. The beet salad had a kick to it, maybe spiced beets or pecans but it was awesome. Our server was great as well.

The fish and chips was nice and hot and the fries were good. The spinach salad was quite boring and some leaves were wilted. It seemed like it may have been pre-made and sat in the fridge. The mussels in white wine sauce were good and the portion size was generous. The seafood chowder was okay, but the seafood was all kind of lost and I never knew what I was eating—everything tasted the same and had the same texture. Unfortunately, the service wasn't too good and certainly didn't compensate for the food. On the plus side, the ambiance is nice. It looks like a lot of people were having a good time.

This place is legit! Super cute, historic building. Be sure to check out the basement (that's where the bathrooms are). Food is excellent. Takes awhile but good food does! Highly recommend.

Gahan House is one of the breweries / restaurants on the island. We already had lunch that day but we tried a couple of flights there. They had a fair amount of beers to try. We sat at the bar where there are not a whole lot of seats. The place does get a bit busy and you can get beer to go as well.

Gahan House was a marvelous experience. The bartender was delightful and knowledgeable. He gave us several suggestions on venues and activities to do in and around PEI, as well as Nova Scotia. The 1772 IPA is fantastic, and the blueberry wheat beer was excellent. This is a must-visit establishment.

Great atmosphere, food and beer. We went on a busy Saturday night and the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The apple jam on the burger was unique and absolutely delicious. Fish and chips were fairly standard but with a fun presentation in a paper bag. The fries also could have been fresher (and therefore crispier), but were still very flavourful.

Amazing food and locally brewed beer. Gahan House is a PEI experience that everyone needs to have. All of their beers are delicious - blueberry beer is especially unique and a must-try. Made with real island blueberries, it is a non-sweet beer with beautiful blueberry aroma. I had the jambalaya for dinner and it was hands down one of the best jambalayas (if not the best) that I’ve ever had. Made with local seafood and beautiful Cajun spices.

The venue was comfortable and the menu was great, but unfortunately we never received service. My partner and I waited 40+ minutes for service after being seated while tables around us were served, without the restaurant seeming busy. We ended up leaving because of the wait time. Truely a disappointing experience.

The food let us down. The donair flat-bread pizza had a sweet sauce on the meat that was too sweet to eat. The chicken curry was a touch salty and offered mostly onions and mushrooms. The good news: The pizza, which we barely touched, was removed from our bill.

We were so impressed with the selection of gluten-free menu items! It was incredibly busy (as I'm sure it is most Fridays). We did make a reservation a few days in advanced but I think I would ask for preferred seating next time we make a reservation, as we were put in a high traffic area of the restaurant. Other than this, the staff was polite and very attentive which was greatly appreciated considering how busy they were. We'll absolutely be back next time we are in PEI!

I love going to the Gahan House as a treat or a night out because it's classy enough that you don't feel like you're slumming it and yet it's comfortable to be there so you don't feel out of your depth. They have great food and wonderful service at a cost that's not too expensive. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting PEI or who just wants to try somewhere new.

Ate twice here in October 2021. The oysters were my highlight, I had 10 both times as part of the $30 oysters and beer item. I also had the burger (big and messy and yummy) , pomegranate salmon (very good) and beet salad (outstanding). The visual atmosphere is really great with lots of nooks and crannies, and various kinds of seating in a charming, old building. One night the host invited me to move to a bigger table as she saw I was wanting more room. That's good service. The aural atmosphere, however, was a big letdown. It shouldn't be a surprise that many people hate current pop music which is why almost all restos don't play it. Unfortunately, this one does. On my last visit I had to endure not one but two Biebers, and also the Incel anthem Treat You Better (trust me, you know it), the most annoying song of the last decade.

Spent an evening on their screened patio for dinner. Ordered fish and chips, salmon, and Greek salad. Found all of it to be delicious. Atmosphere was ideal, great pub character in old building. Brewing equipment found on the way to the washrooms a nice touch. Beer was great.

This place is fantastic. I would say that Gahan's has perfected the art of the pub interior. Every inch of this establishment oozes with character; I can't think of a more welcoming, cozy place to get comfortably drunk. Simply well done. I had the Fish & Chips in the brown paper bag... very good. Tried John A's Honey Wheat and the Sydney Street Stout.. both excellent. Prices were spot on too. I would certainly return!

Ask for a side of mayo for my fries was asked to pay $0.55 ,When a group of two people spent almost $100 on a supper and they asked to pay $.55 for a side of mayo wow That is so cheap.... Used to be one of my favourite spot to go and eat .I would also always bring new people to your establishment but for your greedy $.55 you lost a good client and any potential of new one that I might have brought to your establishment anyway good luck with your business .....if you have a chance to watch give them the pickle you should watch it.

Absolutely worst meal I've ever had in Charlottetown in 25 years. Dirty, sticky table, poor service, disgusting tofu taco, mediocre fish and chips, warm beer, hot wine, had to ask for water, salad dressing, etc etc. All that and 80 dollars. When this place opened years ago it was rather nice but if at all possible, avoid. Go across to the Dublin Pub or Brits for fish and chips or really anywhere else. And word to the wise, they won't try at all to help if you're a vegan. Appalling in every way except the pretty building.

On New year day, my family and I order from The Gahan House because I have heard many good things about it. We order seven main dishes and spend about $161 for the meal. Their nachos and coconut chicken curry was good along with some of the others, I said some, because the others are too salty, their fries are really salty, and the chicken tacos that I got was a disappoitment. The chicken that they had seems like it was left got for a long time, it was very salty and the mix vegetables was pretty good, but their avocado was not fresh, it was turning brown and barely any on the taco. I get better tacos at Taco Boys. If I ever go back to Gahan, I will try their beer, but other than that, I don't think I'm interested in the meals.

What a beautiful little place on the Halifax Waterfront. To begin, they were full! But offered to text our number to let us know when our turn came around! What an awesome option. They even allowed our 3 small dogs to eat on their terrasse and were willing right from the start! The food was amazing the fish cakes are to die for, the seafood chowder was creamy and delicious and got you wanting more. We greatly enjoyed the fish and chips as the haddock was thick and meaty accompanied by a brown bag of spiced fries. Great place, great food, dog friendly, modern but a little pricey. All in all definitely a place you wanna go to if you’re looking for a scenic background, traditional maritime feel and great food!

Decided to try their Donair Burger with their homemade fries and it was really delicious. The burger has (Hamburger Patty, Donair Meat, Tomato, Lettuce, Onions, Cheese and Donair Sauce) and their homemade fries has a seasoning to them. Their price a really good also for what I ordered plus a fountain pop it came to $21.28 with tax. Everything was delicious I would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait till the on in Moncton opens. For the people that like beer, they brew their own and have multiple flavors (Overhear them saying there a Root Beer and a coffee flavor one and plenty more)

Just came here for the beer and didn't eat, but the beer, service, and atmosphere are 5 stars. I had a stout, a red, and a brown and they were all top quality brews. And the outside bar and patio on the waterfront was very enjoyable. Add a very friendly staff to the experience and it was hard to beat.

Great place to eat and drink a beer. Good food also. Had the mussels as a starter, and two mains (lobster roll with poutine and fish & chips), with two pints of great beer. It was a lot of food for two people, but we were hungry and wanted to try everything. We spent $85, and was totally worth it. Servers were super nice too!

If you are considering coming here I highly recommend it. The food was amazing! But my recommendation sprouts from the wonderful service, we have two lovely dogs we had put in the car (with the AC on) because it was raining and we couldn't sit at the picnic tables out front in the rain. After we put the dogs in the car and came in for lunch one of the women working here Nicole had noticed us outside and informed us of their deck outback with covered seating. This is what sets people apart! She was so kind to our and our fur family members. Thank you so much Nicole! This will definitely be our first of many trips here!

I have read some of the mixed reviews and I wasn’t sure whether I should go. I am glad I did. I couldn’t decide on a craft bear so one of the staff brought over 4 samples and explained what they were. Great service. I had the burger and pickled beets salad. The waitress was helpful and steered me to a cheaper combination. Thanks. For a change the burger was nice and hot l, not too squishy and the salad was also very tasty. Good experience all round.

Great local beer. The brew master brews the old fashioned way. They have 15 of their own brews on tap. Go for the 4 / 6oz samples for 10 dollars. It's a great way to try the variety they offer. You must try the poutine! Friendly staff, reasonable prices, great food.

The fries here are SOO GOOD. As a picky eater the menu sounds kind of scary- but everything I've ever tried has been amazing. People roll up notes and put them in between the bricks of the walls, which is really cute to read while you wait for your food. Sometimes the seating is a little awkward or crowded, so it's not really ideal for private moments or celebrations if that's what you're looking for. But what a lovely unique little place.

Steak was done perfect medium. However, it was a little tough. No flavour. Fries aren't worth paying for. On the other hand, the seafood chowder was some of the best I've ever had!!! Don't get the steak.

Great spot, we got into Charlottetown a little bit later and found this place close to the hotel. Our server Mandy was excellent, we had some beer flights (the beers are their own), mussels, and few other appetizers. Really cool brick building with lots of atmosphere, and looks to be a working craft brewery in the basement.

i did dine-in few times and i really liked their food a-lot but today i thought to have a take out order of cauliflower wings. the time i opened it , i really didn’t like what i saw, it was only 5-6 pieces of cauliflower which was not the case when we dine-in and it was uncooked i can see the batter in the box and it taste nothing like when we have the same dish while dine-in.I am really disappointed.

Very pleasant experience! This is a terrific place to go eat in Charlottetown. All great - staff, atmosphere, food & beer. There is a small brewery downstairs (the main one is outside the town). If you're unsure what beer to try, they have a sampler....different beers are on tap: blueberry ale and Sydney Street Stout are worse trying. Good news is that you can buy your favourite handcrafted beer to go! Food options are numerous, and reasonably priced.

Amazing food and lots of gluten free options! The waitress was so considerate of my allergies (I am allergic to gluten, nuts, pork, and seafood). I had the chicken sandwich (without bacon) and my daughter had the fish and chips. Both were great and I felt safe eating the food.

What an amazing little brew pub! Had the Haddock tacos which were nice and went back the next day for the pork belly sandwich which was phenomenal! Highly recommend the Sir John A wheat beer for fans of wheat beers. Great atmosphere and good service. They also have a variety of allergen and a Vegetarian menu for those who want/need it.

The food was not good from my experience eating there. First thing was the food took very very long before we were served. My date’s bread was served seriously burned so we had to ask to replace it, I don’t understand how they could send that to a customer. The steak that came with my meal was not good at all. My fries were hard, cold and didn’t taste very well. My side order of gravy also came cold. At least the waitresses who were working that shift were nice looking. My money was not well spent here.

Amazing food, great service. Try the Blueberry Ale...also rhe G Burger is possibly the best hamburger I've ever had. If you like the beer you can also buy some to go.

I registered for a table. I was told it would be 20 minutes. I watched 4 different groups come up the steps and talked to all four. None of which had reservations (as we spoke). They all were seated before us. At the 45 minute mark they asked if they could help me, I said yeah, I've already checked in. They made space at the bar. 15 minutes later still waiting. I gave up. Love the place but won't be back. Doubt they care.

3 nights in a row. First 2 were wonderful. Third time on a Sat night NOT. Bad service, spinach salad with no dressing and tough chicken. Waitress claimed dressing was there!

Found this popular place online. First time eater at this place. Have to say chicken penne is so good. Mussels are very tender, and chili soup is good too. This place gets busy even in the mid afternoon, come early or book ahead. Cheers! Happy long weekend!
