Drink selection is excellent, if a little pricey on the cocktails. I did notice that a couple of the bar service staff weren't as friendly as the others, but maybe they were having a bad day. The only complaint would be a bar fly problem caused by the exposed fruit that nobody wanted to deal with. The flies were there for at least three days.

Step into a warm, dimly lit romantic bar located in an iconic historical location of old Quebec. Right at the heart is the ever busy bar serving up some great wines. Surrounding it are the plush furniture, placed far enough apart to have a intimate conversation. The whole decor is warm and woody which adds to the charm. Service staff was attentive, friendly and helped out with good recommendations. Was impressed with their cheese and charcuterie board, food portions were ample and the flavors complimented each other. This place takes no reservations so come early as places fill up past 5pm.

Pricey but worth it! A must destination for the beautiful bar, view of the boardwalk and St Lawrence, fantastic drinks and wine. Definitely splurge on the cheese and meat mixed board. Fantastic for appetizers or a late night snack.

This is a beautiful, high energy bar with wonderful views along the window seating as well as comfy seating throughout. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and ended up here a couple times before turning in. The drinks are very pricey and somewhat weak but they do have a better selection of wine and booze than any other place in Quebec (did not understand what you got from the $300 Rob Roy, I did not get this by the way). The bar snacks are free and tasty; a bowl of spicy popcorn and a trail mix/gardettos type. Their cheese and fruit board is the best we’ve had anywhere! I highly recommend stopping here while in Quebec. Casual dress is fine; I had jeans, hiking boots and a puffy coat as we had been walking around the city all weekend in rain and snow. It’s a mix of suits, formal party groups and casual tourist or local.

We went to the 1608 Bar a vin fromage for my 40th birthday lunch, and it was positively wonderful. The charcuterie was generous, the micro brew was out of this world, and we had lovely chairs next to a fireplace. It really couldn't have been more delightful.

We came here to check out the hotel and the views from the hotel. Having both been servers ourselves, we (my boyfriend and I) were both kind, courteous, and patient. However, after waiting for the bill or literally any staff to check on us after around half an hour, we become agitated. We witnessed our server and others serve and check in on all tables around us, as we waited and waited for our bill, or another drink. I’m not sure what the issue was, but we suspect the servers may have been a bit classist, or only cared to wait on larger parties. While I loved our wine, cheese, and the general atmosphere, I would absolutely not recommend this place, and will never return.

For a bar they are incredibly slow at serving drinks. We were there for over 2 hours and only got two drinks. The problem was in part the servers weren’t picking up the drinks, I saw my order waiting for over 5 minutes on the counter, but they also never checked on customers to see if they wanted more or another drink. Best place for cocktails in Quebec City. Avoid SAM restaurant if you do not have a reso as the staff will not seat you despite the restaurant being 75% empty. Despite this you MUST go to the bar for a drink The staff elimnate the stuffiness from the restaurant and the mixologists really know what they are doing

As soon as we enter, our eyes are fixed on all that is beautiful to look at and each place seems more beautiful and more pleasant than the other. At the back of the bar which is majestic, extends this exceptional view of the river and the lights of the south shore. The staff is an extraordinary listener and kindness with a sincere smile, from the beginning to the end of the service. Each with a brandy in hand, small appetizers resting on the table, comfortably seated with a fireplace and a view of the river, and we felt really settled in the private lounge of an overpriced mansion. À l'arrière du bar qui en soit est majestueux, s'étend cette vue exceptionnelle sur le fleuve et les lumières de la rive-sud. Le personnel est d'une écoute et d'une gentillesse hors du commun avec un sourire sincère et ce, du début à la fin du service. Chacun un cognac à la main, de petits amuses-bouche posés sur la table, confortablement assis avec foyer et vue sur le fleuve et nous nous sentions réellement installés dans le salon privé d'un manoir hors de prix. Une expérience que nous allons revivre sans aucun doute!

I recently stopped in here for a per-dinner cocktail when travelling in Quebec City. This bar is great! Situated on the first floor of the famous Frontenac hotel, this bar has a chic yet warm atmosphere. We were seated right next to the fireplace and enjoyed a few cocktails. The Gold Fashioned was great! Also their popcorn is fantastic! Highly recommend.

The prices are as steep as you would expect for a bar inside of the Chateau Frontenac. Overpriced? Yes. However, the cocktails are incredible and well worth having one or two drinks if you’re looking for a nice atmosphere and to enjoy an experience inside the Quebec landmark location. It’s also a great excuse to walk around inside and admire the wonderful decor.

If you want to step out of the bustling streets of touristy Quebec, pretend to be insanely classy, and drop a large amount of money on tasty libations, you're in the right place. If not, go downstairs to Starbucks. We had a Vesper, a White Lady, and a Clover Club, all part of the $18 "reasonable price" menu. It was an opportunity for us to try new things, since my family is usually the beer and wine crowd. We ordered 3 cheeses and I wasn't super excited, they gave us unadventurous cheeses, but it was filling and had a lot of fruit, so it's not a bad value. The decor is entrancing, the drinks well-made, and the staff very friendly.

It is a beautiful bar with good service and a nice view. Drinks are standard expensive for a hotel bar of this caliber. My 2 star review is based on the fact that at the level of this hotel they should not miss key details and then be rude about it. I was there on Thursday of last Week, August 9 with my wife in the late afternoon for a glass of wine. We enjoyed it and were walking by the next day at around noon when I suggested we go back in for another. We went in and they were closed. Not a big deal..seemed weird as there were people everywhere but we moved on. The next day being Saturday at about 2pm we decided to travel back up to the hotel for a glass of wine once again. This time I was smart though and checked the hotel website and the bar website to see their hours of operation. Clearly stated they open at 2pm. Fantastic we thought. So we made the special trip to get there for about 2:15 just to find out it is closed. Upon asking the staff that were working in the bar at the time when they opened they said 4pm. I commented that the website said they were open at 2pm. The response, in a pretty arrogant way was that they had "lots to do and so today it is 4pm" So my review is more about the people that run the bar and their lack of attention to detail and the arrogance they have. I guess because they don't have to work hard to get people to come to their bar they can be that way but frankly it puts a damper on my desire to stay at any Fairmont in the future...and I have stayed at all of them.

Maybe the greatest hotel bar I've ever been to. The bartenders are the best in the business. Cocktails are incredible as is the wine list. Solid local beer selection as well. Their charcuterie and cheese boards are phenomenal. We had planned on stopping in for a couple drinks and some apps before going elsewhere for dinner but ended up just spending the entire night there! A must visit while you are in Quebec.

Beautiful bar in an excellent location but everything good ends there. Seated at 9:00 by a very friendly lady who we were told was the supervisor. She disappeared and we ordered and we were brought terrible drinks and we asked for a menu to order food. We never saw our server again then when we asked another server for a menu we were told the kitchen was closed and we could not order. The kitchen closes at 10 we were unable to order and unable to eat. This bar is an extreme disappointment and it really needs to be better run. A bar/restaurant needs to provide drinks and food to customers, to only be able to order 1 drink in over an hour is not acceptable service. We watched other tables leave disappointed and we really wanted to like this place but it was not to be

I had a great experience at this bar. They offer chips and nuts as accompaniments to whatever drinks your order. The drinks themselves are extremely aesthetically pleasing. This venue is perfect. The bar is beautiful and the cocktails were phenomenal. We had the Margarita, Jungle Bird, French Martini and 1608 and they were delicious. David, Jeremy, Claudia, Joey and the rest of the bar staff were fantastic. Interestingly all of the bar staff are certified bartenders and swap seamlessly between making drinks and serving tables. Music was great (1990-2000s mix) and at a low comfortable level. Charcuterie/cheese mixed board was delicious. A perfect experience! Highly recommended!

Worst "dirty" martini I have ever had..... and I've had a few in my day. I ordered extra dirty... my drink tasted like water with a drop or two of olive juice. My friend and I visited for the second time in a row because we had such a fantastic experience the night before. When we arrived the first night, we were waiting at our table for around 10 minutes before a waiter approached us and asked if we had been served yet, and offered to serve us since we had not been served or acknowledged. He was wonderful, and is the reason why this is a 2-star review and not 1. If I was rating only our experience on the first night, it would have been a 5-star review. We enjoyed all of our drinks and he even served us his favourite drinks, which were all delicious. He was personable and serviced us very well. We were well-paced on our drinks and never felt like it was too much. You could tell he was very busy but was tending to his tables efficiently and all the while being extremely courteous. Even walking in, we were a little wary even before being seated because the first hostess gave us up-down glares and the hostess the next day let us stand there for an uncomfortable amount of time while she typed on her computer and refused to even acknowledge us while we patiently and awkwardly stood there (we were also the only ones there and there was no line). We were so excited to return for a second time because we enjoyed the experience so much we wanted to come back, even though we were only visiting for the weekend. We waited at least 30 minutes after finishing our first cocktail before he came back to ask us if we wanted another drink. We were patient but became irritated after he wouldn't even notice us flagging him down as we watched him serve everyone around us and completely walk by and ignore us. Our waiter from last night was the one to approach our table and ask if we wanted another drink, to which we asked for the bills. We even waited another 10 minutes just to use the machine. We regret coming back because we had other plans to enjoy the rest of our night, but ended up spending 2.5 hours for 2 drinks. As two paying customers who were willing to spend our money here, we were disappointed to feel ignored. It seems like a trend considering the other low reviews that have been left of this establishment. Out of every restaurant we went to during our visit in Québec, this was the only place that we had such an unwelcoming experience.

Cheese and meat platter was a huge hit mess. Wine has turned but waiter argued and said that it was normal. The hostess didn't know what was on the menu... she had to go get from the bar!. Smoke and mirrors!

Cocktails were good but I felt like the food and portions were not worth it. I had the Atlantic smoked salmon and my boyfriend had the chicken clubhouse and we also had the Caesar salad (which was my favourite). Our server was very friendly and recommended places to visit in Montreal when she learned that was our next stop.

Great bar in one of the most historic buildings in Quebec City. A bit pricey for sure but the cocktails we're fantastic. Funky old decor added to the ambience and there is a nice view out to the river.

Mandatory stop if you pass through Quebec. (Original) Precioso bar dentro del hotel. Puedes aprovechar la oportunidad para visitar el hall de este bello castillo de camino a tu mesa. No admiten reservas, sino que tendrás que llegar temprano o esperar por una mesa, pero vale la pena. Por la zona de las ventanas hay mesas con vista sobre el río, muy recomendable. Tienen una interesante selección de vinos, cifras, cervezas y cocktails. Para comer, puedes optar por planchas de quesos/charcutería o por mini platos para picar. Los precios están un poco por encima de la media , pero no me parece caro para el tipo de hotel que es El personal es muy atento y amable, y el ambiente es muy chill. Parada obligatoria si pasas por quebec.

VERY pricey but interesting cocktail selection. Service was great. If you don't mind spending a bit more for the convenience of being located within the Fairmont, it is a good option.

After arriving at 9.45pm and being told the bar will close at 11pm we decided not to order room service which closed at 10pm but to go to the bar instead. Arriving at the bar at 10.05pm we were told it closed early due to 'slow' business. As a solution we were told to got to another bar outside of the hotel.

A proper upscale bar and lounge for casual drinks. The music is just right to offer ambience while setting the mood for a conversation with friends in Quebec's Chateau Frontenac

Great place for a pre-dinner cocktail. This bar is a cozy spot overlooking the St. Lawrence river, with unique decor. The drinks are on the more expensive side (cocktails average $18), however you get what you pay for here. Lots of great flavors in their unique cocktails. They also provide complimentary snacks, chips and mixed nuts.
