We have visited this place twice on our current trip to Cavendish. The scallops and seafood chowder are amazing. Our daughter had the burger and fries and loved it. The servers were very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

I believed some positive reviews here to come to Lost Anchor, hoping that it would be not that bad. But after an hour waiting for foods - from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, I have to say, never come back again. Scallops were fresh but just so so, asparagus was tough,not as what I read in previous comments that "delicious". Burger & chips all got cold they were delivered to our table. We had chips at Richard's in the afternoon and it was cripsy and way much much better. Ingredients were pretty fresh but chowder was rather bland to our taste. We had chowders in other seafood restaurants in Atlantic and no place is better than Alma - NB. All over all 1*.

They even gave us warm blankets to wrap up in when sitting on the deck on a cool evening. The food was delicious my kids can be picky eaters but they loved their fish and chips. The pork belly tacos were able to be lettuce wrapped! Definitely would go again!

Service was good, atmosphere is nice, but the food is way over priced. We payed 20 bucks for fish and chips..for that I'd expect something fancy but it was just ..fish and chips. Better off going to a hole in the wall type diner if you want good seafood and not to break the bank! Won't be back due to prices and food not matching quality of price .. mussels were extrenly tiny as well ????

Restaurant lost my parties reservation, server didnt come back for 50 minutes and also took an hour and fifteen minutes to bring us our food. Some of my parties food was cool and honestly, was just standard pub food. Others who came in after us were served before us. Not a great experience.

Had supper here recently while on a photography workshop. Lobster roll was excellent and service was fast. We were there early so had a prime spot upstairs on the balcony, there was a lineup when we left so suggested you don't arrive in a large group right at supper. I would definitely go back if I was in the area.

Ate here tonight after a full day at the waterpark. Had a nice table on the upper deck. Delicious Sangria. Ordered a bunch of items: mussels, crab cakes, scallops, fried chicken sandwich, kids burgers, kids chicken fingers, lobster fritters and a captains burger (there were 10 of us lol). The mussels were amazing. My husband said his fried chicken sandwich was delicious. My son asked for a second order of chicken fingers they were so good. A friend had the burger and said it was "burger love" material. But I ordered the fried lobster tail and waffles with butter rum sauce. Holy cow what a huge plate! So delicious! Piping hot, savory and sweet. Yumm yumm. Service was great, they were super friendly right from the hostess to the server. Food came out within a reasonable time frame. Would go back in a heartbeat! Well done Mandy and Jason!

I can’t eat any fish or seafood, but my family really enjoys the local seafood so we decided to try out the Lost Anchor. The food was AMAZING to say the least. A restaurant that has a small menu, but can master both fish options and non-fish/vegetarians is a sign of a great restaurant and the Lost Anchor nails it!! Also a shout out to the phenomenal staff, I couldn’t rave more about this restaurant

Definitely do not recommend. We witnessed a man that worked there (assuming the manager) screaming at 2 young staff members. He was out of control and we couldn't believe he actually behaved like that in front of us. I will never support this place again. The one star rating is only because it was clean.

Servers are whom you would ask for - helpful and patient. Scallop burger was a hit with us and seafood pizza was stuffed with shrimp, lobster, bacon and scallop meat. Fries are not overly done and meaty. Will return and recommend.

We went as a family of 4 (2 adults, 17 year old and 7 year old) There was something for everyone. Everyone loved their food. The Fish Tacos, Burrito bowl and Chicken sandwich are amazing. We loved it so much we went back again the next night LOL. Also, try the Cavy Breeze drink. Yum!

Friendly greeting but Incredibly slow - waited 55 minutes for our food (for 3 people). Server was missing in action much of the time. Offered to get me some more water and never returned. We were there for almost 2 hours, mostly waiting for service. They seemed confused and perhaps understaffed. Food was okay. My lightly battered fish and chips was thickly battered and quite oily. Tasty but I paid for it after. Falafel was mushy, but the lobster was good. Potato salad received mixed reviews.

Nice patio deck (upper and lower), friendly service, great beer on tap and delicious cocktails. Food was prepared quickly and delivered hot (sweet potato fries were exceptional), regular fries as well. Gnocchi dish was unbelievably good and not expensive at all, fish tacos were great, grill cheese lobster sandwich was a hit as well and I enjoyed the burrito bowl very much.

Had a great meal at The Lost Anchor this weekend. We made a reservation on line and when I inquired in the notes part about my daughter being vegetarian and could anything be modified they were quick to respond and be helpful. She had lobster gnocchi without the lobster and we all agreed it was the BEST gnocchi we had ever had. All of the food was great- mussels, fish 'n chips, and the Greek salad was delicious. The portions were big, but not overwhelmingly huge. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere great. We will be back for more gnocchi and fish tacos next time we are in Cavendish!

I am not sure the issue, they were apologetic, but we were there for an hour and 40 minutes just for wraps/ clams and fries. I would go again, we may have just caught a bad time.

The food here was Very good! The Atmosphere is great, it's got a smaller interior dining area and many great outdoor patio seating on a nice day. This is the best spot to eat when in the avonlea museum area if you're looking for a quick bite, or some of their amazing lobster rolls.

I'm sure that it was just an unfortunate string of events, and not a true testimate of their usual quality. The restaurant has no blinds, so the evening sun beats in there making it really hot. The sun made sitting in certain spots tough because the sun shone directly in your eyes. The food took an hour to get to us. And then there was the baby that screamed for all of our meal. Not their fault, but it meant I left much earlier than I might have. Fortunately the manager took notice and discounted our bill without being promoted.

We saw this restaurant coming in to town and knew we had to try it- we weren't disappointed! The fish tacos were delicious, and others in my group loved their fish and chips. PEI fries are truly something else, I usually try to get a vegetable for a side but these were worth the dietary detour. The legend of the lost anchor painted on the wall was really neat as well. We stayed in Cavendish for several days and this was by far my favorite place to eat.

We went there after seeing good ratings online. We were dying to have the last Lobster rolls we could have before leaving PEI. The ambience of the interior has been done very tastefully. Service was slow/poor. It took them a lot of time to even get us water or beers. We waited for 50 minutes and since we were getting late to go back to Halifax, decided to take all the lobster rolls as take out. When we ate them, enroute, there was no consistency in the food. 2 rolls were extremely dry and 2 of them were so salty that we couldn't possibly eat them. The only thing that saved us that night was the side salad. It could have been a busy day or bad day for the kitchen, but certainly not that I would expect after spending so much money on supper. When you pay so much, you expect quality and consistency.

Relaxing dining experience, the inviting decor and friendly staff set the tone for the enjoyment of the meal. We shared the Caesar Salad, then we enjoyed the Fish and Chips with the Chunky Mountain Chocolate Cake to finish off the meal. The portions are large and tasty. The food is good for the price. We were somewhat surprised at how long our apps took to come out and after our food was served we never saw our server again for water refills until we were finished eating. Not a deal breaker, just minor frustrations. All in all, it's worth a stop if you're hungry and in the area. Very kid-friendly. Nice lower and upper patio areas! The inside is small so I would imagine it would be hard to get a seat on a rainy (non-patio) day.

The seafood chowder was the best I have ever eaten. Creamy and full of chunks of potato, lobster, fish and mussels, with just the right amount of seasoning. The roll that came with it was disappointing though- just the same Swiss Chalet serves. Our server was friendly and helpful.

I had the lobster gnocchi - I was beyond impressed. Big chunks of fresh lobster, incredibly flavorful, and fluffy gnocchi in a cream sauce with ricotta... Delicious! I'll definitely be coming back, and highly recommend The Lost Anchor to anyone who comes to Cavendish!

Had a reservation for 6pm for 5 of us...2 adults, 3 kids. We ordered the caesar salad, 2 lobster mac and cheese ( 2 kids splitting) and orders 2 fish and chips. We got our drinks and salad promptly which was great. We sat there waiting a good hour for our dinner...kids getting antsy and starving. We questioned the server and he said there was problem in the kitchen with our order and he will go make sure it goes through now. He said he's the manager and he will take care of things and make things right. Our food eventually came out and it was great! Not sure what happened...maybe we were forgotten because every table that arrived after us had eaten and were leaving. Anyways, he took care of our drinks and part of the bill, gave the kids free desserts. The food was great and we would have given 5 starts if it wasn't for how long it took to get it. Every bit of food was eaten because we were so hungry.

I had the Seafood chowder and then the burrito bowl with Korean beef. The service was amazing. The kiddos loved it. They had chicken fingers and assorted fries with various dips...that we all enjoyed. My husband had a blue cheese iceberg salad and the burrito bowl with chicken. Great time, great food and great atmosphere.

Food was top tier, scallops were delicious, and the cocktails were great. If your heading there for supper, make a reservation in the morning or there's a good chance you won't make it in. It's worth every penny. Staff was very friendly and the top patio was nice to enjoy on a sunny day.

Such a refreshing change from the typical Cavendish restaurants. The place is clean and has a great atmosphere. The food is awesome, highly recommend the potato salad, it's not what you are expecting but it is delicious all the same.

I now live on the Island, relocated here from Ontario. Eating out is one of of our favourite things to do while continuing to explore PEI. The Lost Anchor consistently delivers. My review is long overdo. So many restaurants are good for a couple of years then ownership tend to coast on their short lived popular reputation. That’s the recipe for failure as a reputation can sour in far less time than it takes to build a good one; (example Blue Mussel Cafe North Rustico.) My family had dinner again last night at The Lost Anchor and as usual our experience was outstanding. I keep trying new items because everything Ive had in the past exceeded my expectations. The Blues Burger May have been the best burger I’ve ever had. The fries were the best I’ve had in any restaurant. If you like New York Fries, you’ll love these. I have always thought they have the best Lobster Roll out there. Each time I order it comes with two large meaty claws sticking up and out of the meat mixture. I tend to eat with my eyes first (don’t we all?) In a year where many cooks, chefs and service employees have left the industry due to foodservice closings (COVID), the Lost Anchor hasn’t missed a beat. Congratulations to the ownership and crew!!! Food was decent and server was polite. Kitchen service took 35 minutes from the time of order to make 2 sandwiches with fries even though only 3 other tables were present. No checkins from server for kitchen delay updates. Tiny bit of mist kept the upper patio closed so the wait for food was more unbearable since inside is quite echo-y.

TINY portion sizes. Paid $27 for a beer and burrito bowl, had to get a sandwich from Tim Horton's after my meal. Portion looked like it was from the kids menu. Total rip off.

Wonderful little restaurant in Cavendish. The fries were so good, my boyfriend ended up ordering another basket. The batter for their fish and chips is phenomenal. I ordered the fish cakes and they were really good. Over all it was a fantastic meal, were planning on making another stop here to try some more dishes.

Terrible service. ..stopped for a couple drinks on the patio. It wasn't busy and they had plenty of staff but the service was terrible. They forgot our order entirely and never came to check on us after 30 minutes. Avoid!...Should be called the "Lost Order"

Stopped in with my family and the staff were just so nice and accommodating - even helping calm a crying baby so my wife and I could eat a meal together. The PEI potato salad and scallop burger were fresh and awesome - and the buoys for dessert were dynamite. Great spot!

Food was SUPER FRESH and the flavours were amazing. Reasonably priced, friendly staff, albeit a slight wait for the waitress to come around but very worthwhile. Portion sizes are satisfying and the ambiance is very comfortable, though I wouldn't mind a bit more lobster in the mac and cheese. Definitely worth the visit and would not mind coming back, especially since it's in a decent location with activities nearby too.

My family and i ate there last night for supper. Nice place clean, service was good quick staff pleasant. Our orders came quickly. My daughter and wife had the seafood chowder and both loved it. My som had the cheese burger and fries and enjoyed it as well i had the 2 peice fush and chips it was very goid with home made tarter sauce and coleslaw i woukd recommend this restaurant. The Lost Anchor truly exceeded my expectations!! The fish and chips was the best I’ve ever had, the homemade tarter sauce was absolutely delicious. The pei blueberry beer is a must try on the beautiful top deck. Our waitress Sophie was friendly and very knowledgeable! This is a must stop in Cavendish!

Nice atmosphere except there are no blinds for the windows and the sun makes it very hot and uncomfortable while waiting and eating. Ordered the "large" seafood chowder, which I only found one piece of potato in. Seeing as this restaurant is in PEI I figured it would be a little more hardy. Chowder came and was disappointing. Paid $13 for maybe a cup. Had it been exceptional I would have gladly paid that amount, but it was just an average chowder. Fiancè ordered fish and chips and the batter seemed to be burnt. Also the fish inside was chewy and unappetizing. Our server was polite. Overall, too expensive for quality and quantity. We won't be back.

Worst experience ever in a restaurant! Terrible service. First our soup was given to another table. (That person ate it!) We kept waiting..no soup...asked the waiter where our soup was? Waited another 15 minutes.. finally got our soup...cold!!! Sent that back...still waiting for our food...2 other tables came in 30 minutes after us...guess what?? They got their food and we are still waiting for ours!!!!! Just terrible service..never again...Ended up leaving with no food!!

Fantastic food here! My wife has the lobster roll and I had fish tacos. The lobster roll was huge! She said it was the best she's ever had. My fish tacos were delicious and their fries are oh so good. Great service too!
