Awesome wines. Very high quality Okanagan character

Got a bottle of 2005 Merlot (Epoque) as a gift. I must have done something right to deserve it because it wasn't just a treat, it was an experience. I tend to forget most wines because very few leave a lasting impression. This bottle, however, I will never forget. I've tried other wines from Le Vieux Pin and every single one has impressed. Not being well versed in "wine speak" it's hard for me to describe in words just how great these wines are so I'll sum it up like this "There are wineries and then there's Le Vieux Pin. These guys take winemaking to a whole new level."

Derek Stewart (Stew-Art-Prints)

As everyone else has noted, the people who work here are friendly and knowledgeable. However, despite the fact that we made an appointment, they continued to serve walk-ins, which meant it took 10 minutes or more between each pour of wine, which was frustrating, and they didn't really have time to discuss any of the wines with us.

Ashley Beaulieu

Didn't know much about Le Vieux Pin prior to our private tasting but walked away with a tremendous appreciation for their winery, their story and of course the wines. Alex was very knowledgeable and proud of what they have there - a female owned and operated vineyard that works extremely hard to maintain old world techniques in everything they do. I was most impressed with their 2 large format wines - red and white both un-yeasted and so easy drinking that they would convert any non-wine drinker. We also sampled their 2018 and 2012 Syrah's side by side. Would strongly recommend a visit and tasting to anyone.

Most disgusting winery I've ever been to. I honestly couldn't stand there to drink the sampling because of the mount of fruit flies... "oh there's nothing we can do about them" Go ANYWHERE else!!!!

My favorite winery in the Okanagan. Love the 2010 Syrah and the Sauvignon Blanc. Staff was friendly and informative, great atmosphere. Will definitely go back next time.

Excellent wines in southern French style, reminded me of our month in France in Languedoc and Provence. One of the very best on the east side of the canal south of Oliver.

Jesse Godwin

I was very impressed with the all the wines I tasted. Relatively small scale, high quality, sophisticated labeling, beautiful setting.

Bohee Warkentin

Great small winery. Best white wine we had tried today. I bought some of that and their Violette!

Terry Curtis

Amazing winery with great wine and very knowledgeable staff. We booked a tasting ahead of time as reservations are necessary and when we arrived we got to sit outside for our tasting and take our time and enjoy ourselves. The look of the building and the decor made us feel like we were in France. The wine is superb!

Like their sister winery La Stella, this winery is one of our favorite for sure! After going there, we are definitely considering registering to their petit wine club for their bi-annual shipment! Love it and recommend it to all!

Igor Kivritsky

Love the wine, love the people. Great stop in Oliver. Thank you for showing us around!

This is one of our favourite wineries in the Okanagan. We love Le Vieux Pin for their French style wines, relaxed & unpretentious tasting experience, and great staff. We have always been treated well when we've visited. Last month when we were in the area, we we unable to make a tasting appointment via their website so we thought we'd just pop by and see if we could do a tasting--the tasting room was not busy and they were very accommodating. I like how they match their tastings with the right style of glass--very few wineries do this and it was a nice touch. We even had a chance to try one of their wines usually only offered to wine club members which was excellent and which we ended up buying a bottle of (2015 Retouche). There is also a little Pétanque court in front of their tasting room if you want to stop with a picnic, enjoy some wine and toss some boules around. Don't miss this gem if you are in the area!

Wonderful wines and extraordinary staff. Made us feel comfortable and welcome. Opened their doors early for us so we would buy wine.

One of the best French style wineries in the province.

Another great winery in Osoyoos, British Columbia not to be missed. I have a blast every time I visit this winery. First and foremost the wines are amazing. My favorite wine there is the Syrah "cuvee violette". The wines are served in its specific glass to make sure aroma and taste are represented at its best. If you have to wait for your turn of wine tasting make sure to play bocci at the court in front of the tasting room, it is really fun. Every single time I am at this winery I visit the many different breeds of heritage chicken they keep to help fertilize their vineyard. These are truly amazing to watch and chase sometimes! Finally do not forget to take winery’s cellar tour to taste their Syrah from different sites and be able to compare them side by side. It is amazing.

Le Vieux Pin is without a doubt my favourite place in the Okanagan. Everytime I head that way, I always spend more time there than anywhere else in the region. The people are amazing. All the staff there are friendly and knowlegable and truly have a passion for their wines. Needless to say their wines are outstanding, and i can honestly say that i have not had better. I have never experienced a better time than i have at their beautiful winery. I urge anyone heading that way to go in and meet the team and if you are lucky enough to meet the owners you will have hit the jackpot, they are beautiful people inside and out.

Located In OLIVER BC. Great wine! Great spot! Cool Name. Cheers

Vanessa L (Ms.V)

Very knowledgeable staff and overall nice tasting experience, but I think our very high expectations (we were told very great things about this winery) were not met and we were a bit disappointed in the end

Marc Leckman

What a great tasting experience with wine expert Marie-Pier! Good wines, beautiful winery with European vibes. Worth a visit!

Mike

Wow, loved this place. Wines were fantastic. Very knowledgeable staff and great selection of wines. Definitely recommend.

Wade Tywoniuk

Terrific French style wines! Their rosé is delicious.

Pedro Villalon

Passionate bunch doing passionate work. The team at this winery are as serious about their work and are as knowledgeable as they come. Amazing level of attention to details from the way visitors are received to their work in the vineyard and barrel cellar. particularly love their syrah and how each of their 3 labels show a very distinct side of this much beloved grape variety. a must visit and buy for our family year in year out.

Le Vieux pin would be defined as more high end. Usually they only accept by appointment only but you could try dropping buy. Wine is amazing. Top level stuff. They practice old school wine making techniques. It varies year to year. Staff are very knowledgeable. Smaller tasting room but nice patio as well. If you love wine come here.

Beekeeper Vlog (How To Learn)

The staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating when we wanted to push up our tasting. They were also nice to accommodate the tasting to our preference for reds. My only caveat was that 2 out of the 4 wines we were served were for wine club members only. I also found their reds were young and not ready to drink so we'd need to let them sit for a bit (I guess that's a bit of a personal preference). Overall I'd recommend the winery. I did feel like it was a bit more of a serious winery vs something a little more fun. Looking forward to opening my reserve syrah in a few years;)

Emanuelle Villemaire-Côté

superb winery - well worth the drive up the the hill. and the wines! after a long hard day of wine tasting our palates were nearly done but quickly revived by the amazing selections provided by the wonderful host Alex. Highly recommended

Michael Breakey

Picked up some Syrah, and very happy about it! :)

Christa Buss

Always an excellent winery.

Emilija Cvetanovska

The tasting experience was fantastic. It was one of the most informative tasting experiences that I've had. I would highly recommend a visit!

Camran Monsef

The wines had a quite sour, tart finish and were too heavy on the spice flavours.

Craigery Johnson

Great tasting experience, but normally you do need to book in advance. Very different experience from most wine tastings in the area, you get much more information and smaller group of people tasting with the sommelier.

If I could leave zero stars here, I would. This was a terrible experience! We went to 14 wineries in Oliver, and this was by FAR the worst. They were completely disorganized and disinterested in their customers. The winemaker, (I think her name was Severine) was on site that day and we were shocked at how arrogant, pretentious and rude she was. The entire staff were very uppity, like they were doing a big favour by serving customers. The wine was nothing extraordinary and didn't warrant the high prices they charge. We will definitely not be back, nor be recommending this to anyone.

We went here not knowing it was tasting by appointment only, so keep that in mind before heading over, but one of the guides was free when we arrived and gave us a wonderful personalized tasting outside in their beautiful garden. The wine was some of the best I have ever tasted. The guide was very informative and knowledgable and made he experience very pleasant. We will be back to buy more wine from them next time we go for sure!

Sarah Nickerson

One of the best wineries in the Okanagan... But it is small so you should call ahead to book an appointment for a tasting.

After all these many years, le Vieux Pin still has my favourite portfolio of wines. Alex and the staff always present the wines perfectly. I always walk out with at least 1/2 case of the best tasting wines!

Great small winery. Best white wine we had tried today. I bought some of that and their Violette!

Fantastic experience. This was our second time there and Alex was amazing - super knowledgeable, passionate and made sure that everyone in our group had a great time. Will be back for sure!

We had a lovely and informative tasting. We left with a few delicious bottles vine.

UPDATE from our review below. ALEX FROM LE VIEUX PIN REPLIED TO OUR CONCERNS.. INVITED US BACK TO ANOTHER TASTING AND WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED AND LOOK FORWARD TO COMING BACK NEXT YEAR. In a 40 minute advertised wine tasting, over half the time our wine tasting hostess left us alone to work the retail store without an apology or explanation. We left because she started another group and frankly, we didn’t know if our ‘experience’ was finished. We liked the Syrah and wanted to buy a case but there is no way that we can support a business that ignores their customers like they did with us. There are too many other good wineries nearby to spend our time and money this year and for years to come.

This place is like heaven!! We went there since we heard a lot of good things from our friends in the wine industry. We got there and were greeted by Alex, very nice person who told us about the story behind this winery. We got to taste their Syrah, Violette. Oh wow, don't miss that!!! We got ourselves few bottles! The location is perfect to have a picnic or just to have a glass of wine under the sun and relax. Very glad we went there and enjoyed a sunny afternoon. Make sure to call in advanced and be aware that LOTS of their products are sold out since all is so delicious.

Veronique Verreault

Lovely winery with a French flair. Our hostesse was very nice and informative spending a good amount of time with us threating us to a vast assortment of the winery's selection. The wine was very good with each variety having a very good overall complexity and balance. Luckily we were able to taste a 10 year old vintage confirming the wine only get better once aged. Reservations are required as we saw a few couple unable to even the tasting.

Ana Smith

Always a wonderful experience. Exquisite wines and hospitality.

Sarah

Great syrah such a pretty vineyard it is just a dream

My husband and I went to Le Vieux Pin with my parents on a wine tour. We had never been there before, but it was a beautiful winery. The presentation of each wine in its own glass, as well as the tasting room itself was very upscale and beautifully done. The wines themselves were delicious, and we enjoyed hearing about how the wines were made, as well as about the various soil types they grow in. As we were tasting, my husband recognized the label on one of the bottles, and we realized we had previously received that bottle as a gift. We shared the story with the staff, and afterwards they presented us with a free bottle of wine! My family and I had a great experience at Le Vieux Pin and highly recommend it to anyone interested in wine tasting in the Oliver region.

Christophe Bernard

Great wine year after year! We have been buying a few boxes every year and it keeps getting better. They have a beautiful space and very knowledgeable and passionate staff. Go check it out this summer! :)

Candice Tipton

Went for a tasting and were SO excited as we truly enjoy Le Vieux wines so saved the "best for last" but sadly, the experience left a horrible taste in our mouths. We had been to 6 other wineries on our day and purchased a truck load of wine but left here with only 4 bottles because the woman was SO rude and obnoxious. Definately did not feel welcomed or our presence wanted

This winery is incredible. Haven't had anything of theirs I didn't like. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. The location is beautiful. Can't wait to go back!

Youri Rodrigue

I was super excited for this tasting, and it didn’t disappoint. The most informative and complete tasting we experienced during our trip. I ended up signing up for their wine club because of the amazing quality of their product. Think about a passionate wine maker with an excellent sense of excellence. So happy we choose to include this place in our tour.

Too expensive and small.

Kaveh Djahanshahi

We had a pleasure of having the "old Al", and he was very friendly, funny and knowledgable of his wine. He made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy our wine and didn't rush us. Rose was by far our favourite, as it tasted clean and simple, yet so much aroma. Definitely a-must place to visit.

C Williscroft

I'm giving this review a 2 because I like the wine however I am very disappointed in the response of Allison when we called to get a wine tasting. We phoned to get an immediate wine tasting however were laughed at and ridiculed , on the phone, for wanting a tasting without reservation. In the future a polite response would be much appreciated.

Just like its sister winery (La Stella), LVP is a personal favourite. These guys know their wine intimately and are glad to share that knowledge. Highly recommended: tasting flight of wines from the same grape grown on different parcels. Discover how sun exposure, water filtration and soil composition leave a mark on each bottle.

Joscelyne Smith

My favourite rosé(s) are usually from Bandol France and a few in Sonoma California. However, Le Vieux Pin make an extraordinary rosé as well. Especially for a wine made in Canada, makes you appreciate it that much more!

Tara Amirikhaledi

Best wine we tasted on our wine tour. Their Syrah are amazing. Great hospitality. But don't forget to make an appointment with them before you go!

Dave Donohoe

Beautiful vineyard with some great wines. The young lady in the shop was very helpful and knowledgeable. We had a delightful experience.

Best wine I've had in the Okanagan. The quality that goes into their wine making is sans equal. A votre santé !

One of my favourites. Beautiful space, and fantastic wine. In all honesty one of the best boutique producers. Lots of attention to details in presentation. And the wine speaks for itself: complex and layered, yet very true to the region. You should definitely check it out if you get a chance.
