For the most part I usually enjoy going here and perusing all the cool stuff but my last visit was very unpleasant. We had taken my parents to pick out their birthday presents and because we had birthday plans after it was a bit of a family affair with my grandparents and 18 month old. My daughter was being carried by my dad and touched a glass which chinked with another glass and an older staff member said to another staff member "that's why damn kids shouldn't be allowed in this place" (I don't think he knew it was my daughter as he was standing beside me and my dad and daughter were about 30 feet away.) it made me feel very uncomfortable and mad as we were planning on spending a couple hundred dollars. I decided to let my parents do their shopping with my husband and I took my daughter next door for some tim bits. As we were leaving a 9(ish) year old girl walked in with her father. The same older gentleman, under his breath, said "great, another kid". These kind of out loud comments are very unprofessional, especially when the store policy is kids must be accompanied and neither child was causing any real trouble. I will note this experience was in February.

Just ordered from them for the first time. The bottles were packed well and it was sent out super fast, the next day IIRC. With my 3 bottles of scotch they threw in a little gift, a nice Glencairn with Bowmore’s emblem on it. Considering those glasses sell for 25$ a pop, it’s a hell of a nice gesture. I will buy whisky from Craft Cellars again, soon!

The first time I went to this place, my experience was awesome. The staff was really helpful and the selection was top notch. The second time I stopped in, no one even said hello and in fact one of the staff walked by me twice without a word. I stopped by today and again no help. I couldn’t find what I was looking for and on my way out the guy working behind the counter said “you’re not going to buy anything?” First off, you didn’t have what I wanted so no, I’m not buying anything. I go here for craft beer - and they have an excellent selection, which they seem to keep "switching up", so it keeps changing - although they clearly hold on to some popular breweries' product long term. Don't forget that the end caps of the shelving also contain their craft beer selection, not just the cooler. Staff is really helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended.

I had ordered online a few times, because they had gins like The Botanist and Tanqueray No. 10. And then I actually went into the shop once to pick up a bottle of 10-Year-Old WhistlePig Rye Whiskey. I was quite impressed with the selection they have. The lady at the counter also knew what she was talking about when I asked her about the Laphroaig 18-Year-Old. Definitely a favourite place in Calgary to pick up the good stuff!

The woman at the front didn’t bother acknowledging us when we entered the store, she offered no help when we were looking around apparently lost, she was not muted as we could hear her joking around with another worker there about a funny video she was showing him on her tablet. Their price is comparable to other places, selections is not much better When we came up to the till, she didn’t say hi or thank you after we paid, it was the first and last time we shopped there.

This store has the worst customer service I have ever received. Celebrating my wife’s birthday, I wished to purchase a beer well know from her country of Argentina. The person working there told me they did not stock it anymore. Then told me that they will not carry any beer from that country because Argentina does not produce a good beer. Not only is this extremely unprofessional but very insulting. If you have an opinion about other countries, you should keep it to yourself, and not insult your customers. I would not set foot into this store ever again.

The website does not accept credit cards, 2 hours after ordering you will have your order cancelled saying the addresses don't match. I called the store and was told to call back in the morning. I called back the next morning and I was told I entered my information wrong, something that auto-populates and has never caused me any issues with any other online retailer. I tried ordering again having copy/pasted my address from my online banking to confirm it was 100% identical, as they suggested, it was cancelled again. I tried ordering for the third time, this time with a different credit card, again had my order cancelled for the incorrect billing address. I wanted to order online to receive the 15% off promotion, I called the store explaining the issue with the credit card, was told that I had to use Paypal (a service I don't trust based on past experiences) or pay full price in-store. They refused to honor their website 15% discount in-store, despite the orders not processing online due to their website. I can understand website processing complications but at least provide the customer service to honor your promotions. I gave up and ordered elsewhere.

I use to purchase a lot of Scotch from this location until I realized I could get the same bottle at other places for less money even with their customer promotional discounts. They also close at 6 pm, which is not convenient for my work schedule and living in Chestermere. They do have good selection but there are a lot of competition now in Calgary for single malt scotch whiskey which is great for the consumer.

The lady there was a bit condescending. I ordered for pick up thinking it would be same day but apparently it's 24 hours. I was a bit upset about the 24 hours as I felt may be I missed something but nope, nowhere on the website is it mentioned or on the confirmation email. I eventually got my order but the clerk left me feeling embarrassed thinking that the customers should have known this. I won't be going there again, I'm sure I can find what I ordered anywhere. Also no acknowledgement when I was in there looking lost.

Never have I ever seen a whiskey selection like this! So much whiskey I could pickle out three sets of livers over and over again. They have bottles that only they get in as well as some that are so rare that you can only find them on google. If you like whiskey you gotta check this place out.

We were called to notify our wine order [pre-paid] was ready for pick up, upon arrival i was told that only some of the the bottles we ordered were available and that there was no rationale or explanation, just that the missing bottles were on order as a result. Its been 2 weeks since and no one has called ?? So i called and now apparently their is no record of my invoice or order?? i was told to phone back and ask to speak to someone that might be able to help me?? WHAT?? I think I attended almost every liquor store in Texas (OK - I'm exaggerating a bit...) during a recent trip south to see about some Blanton's Bourbon. They all just laughed at me. (Ya'll ain't from around here are ya?) But I get home to Ontario and voila -Calgary's Craft Cellars have some in stock. So I ordered a bottle and although shipping to Ontario represented 1/3 of the price of the bourbon - it arrived quickly and safely. Great place to order from - great experience! Now, I gotta go sip me some whiskey... nice job guys.

My rating is strictly based on their customer service or lack thereof. I put an order in recently and I sent them a message with a question regarding my order and I have not hear back from them in almost 2 weeks. Seems like once they got my money, I'm no longer a priority. UPDATE: I've updated my rating from 1 to 4 stars. They reached out to me to apologize about not responding. I do appreciate when companies own up to their mistakes. I will keep one star off but other than that, their product and delivery have been amazing and I would buy from them again.

I primarily purchase scotch and bourbon from Craft Cellars. The selection, number of chase releases and customer service is great, however, I feel like they have increasingly resorted to price gouging for anything deemed a chase bottle. You're paying a ~20% tax on those compared to most other retailers. I'll support other businesses from here on out.
