This Winery belongs to the category of Winery.
Charming country winery. Wide open space, a view of lake Ontario, even the CN Tower???? Large parking lot. Good wines. The sampling room was bright and beautifully laid out. It was a full house today. $12 for 3 wine samples (they gave us Late Harvest Desert Wine for free and small bread sticks) So far the most expensive wine sampling in the area BUT they do have excellent wines ????
If you are going on a wine tasting tour, be sure to make this winery one of your stops! The wine is great but they also have an amazing view over the vineyard. I love the way they designed the building with a glass wall a huge windows so you can overlook the vineyard. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful view of the escarpment and lake. Bought wine tho weren't able to stay for a tasting
The wine is nice but $15 for three pours is a bit expensive..
We arrived 30mins before closing for a Bachelorette tour (5ppl) and they weren't very impressed with us. If you don't want to be open until 6pm, close at 5:30 instead.. Only had "2 bottles open", that was all they were sampling. We weren't keen on either variety so we ended up buying a glass instead of sampling so we could sit outside. Very small sizes for $9. Very disappointed, other wineries in the area were much more welcoming.
Great wine, an interesting and friendly winemaker and a beautiful countryside.
Really enjoyed the tasting, and a friendly staff.
Epic view. Friendly service. Delicious riesling.
Not recommend
Very friendly people. Great wines.
Lovely experience. Easy going and friendly. Handling covid precautions professionally. Wine tasting was great, knowledgable and charming staff. Well worth the visit!
Just went for a visit yesterday with friends. Friendly service and the tour guy was very knowledgeable. Good wine.
Nice tasting and award winning wines.
Award winning Rieslings worth a try, even at above average price
Very beautiful tasting room and views. However, staff were not very attentive despite us being the only people there. They were not receptive to our wine preferences when selecting wines for us to taste. The employee poured our samples and …
Amazing. Great first time experience. They had many different favours of wine and we ended up taking home 6 bottles. Must try...salute!
Beautiful Wine estate. Basically picturesque. …
Excellent wine, excellent price point, excellent staff. While always wonderful, I wanted to specifically mention that Thirty Bench was amazing when we went to visit them on our wedding day. It turned out to be a particularly cold day in November and no one in the area was willing to let us get some photos and enjoy a tasting with our wedding party except Thirty Bench. Not only were they super accommodating and kind, they have a beautiful tasting room and great wine that made taking photos SO MUCH fun! We went back the next day and picked up a case of wine that we can't wait to enjoy but we know will age excellently for a few anniversaries to come. I do recommend calling in advance if you expect to have a large party for tastings. That way they can make sure they have room and staff and you have the best experience possible. Also no promises for future happy couples.
Good place to visit if you are a wine lover. I am not a wine connoisseur, but I recognize a good glass of wine when I taste one. Nice place, overlooking huge vineyard, to sit and have glass of wine. They also have picnic tables outside. It's beautiful and very relaxing place where you can spend your whole afternoon. Average bottle wine is around $24. First time when we went, wine tasting was free. We didn't try wine tasting lately, but I am guessing it's still free.
When a snowshoeing activity at this winery was cancelled due to freezing rain, the staff at Thirty Bench were incredibly friendly and helpful and quickly sent us other ideas for things to do in the area. Great service!
Great wine, nice place.... Covid sucks.
I love the bread sticks
(Translated) Margaret is really very nice and knows her products well. (Original) Margaret est vraiment très gentille et connais bien ses produits.
What a lovely experience from the helpful staff, delicious wine and beautiful setting.
$12 wine tasting includes a $5 rebate for a bottle of wine. Really enjoyed the Winemaker's Riesling and the small lot Cabernet franc. Nice tasting room overlooking the vineyard. Staff was not attentive - Poured the wine and left.
Staff always super friendly and knowledgeable. One of my favorite wines!
Oh my goodness, this winery clearly doesn't seem to care about the customer experience while trying to book! DO NOT try to call, book online. Their message while you wait should clearly state that. I tried to get ahold of someone for over 3.5 hours!
Rude staff.
Really nice quaint winery. Wine maker there has come a long way. Been visiting there for the last 5 years. Unfortunately the more popular the place gets and the better the wine maker becomes... prices go up. I struggle paying more for local wine than l do for wine from Italy or France. But all the same great staff and good wine
Some nice wines but not for the price. There are a lot of good winery's around... Try others first
Hey! The price was unreasonably high compared to other wineries and it was not tasty at all! Also, we stand long for someone to serve us!
Great selection and excellent service!
Great wine
Very cool winery. Beautiful vineyard views.

The wine is very good but the service was terrible. The owner seated us but he was so arrogant and rude that I will never come again.
Fun experience
Canada Day 2018 was sizzling hot so the wine tasting here starting with the Riesling was perfect. The rosé and red were good too but the when you sip the Riesling you will find that this is where Thirty Bench really shines. Great staff and beautiful tasting room too with views of the vineyard.
We decided to do a last winery run before the end of our local honeymoon from niagara on the lake driving back to the city and making a stop at Beamsville at a chosen winery we haven't gone before. (We saw their bottles at a couple wine stores so thought we'd check it out). Booked a tasting online for 4-4:40pm. When we got there at 4:10, we were getting checked in, another woman came disgruntled and was annoyed we came at that time because the winery closes at 5pm - God forbid! But the lovely lady checking us in tries whispering but we had paid online already.. Another party was behind us who didn't do a reso ahead of time online and she kept asking ok who checked in first? Ok I need to know who checked in first. We were super confused because the lady prior talked to us both so we weren't really sure how to answer. SO okay how about relax and focus on providing a better welcoming experience for your customers? The whole experience was super awkward and unwelcoming. I mean nothing against her I'm sure she's a nice woman before 4pm to her customers, but why allow bookings available to be made on your site from 4-4:40pm?! When they finally sat us down she was fine, just standing there starring waiting for us to order. We left after 15 min, and needless to say we will not be coming back. Cute winery though.
Extremely disappointed that we chose this spot as one of our wineries on our day out to celebrate a very special birthday. The service was rude, snotty and incredibly pretentious. We visited a handful of wineries throughout our day, and not one of them compared to the horrible experience we had on this unfortunate stop at Thirty Bench. If you have zero personality, enjoy customer service as dry as soda crackers - this is the winery for you! If not - keep on driving down the wine route people!!!! Trust me!! - So many more compassionate fun wineries to visit! Cross this one off your list! (only reason I gave this a star is because you have to rate it in order to post your review! Otherwise I would've given ZERO)
Cute winery, friendly staff.
I have found my new favorite winery! Had wonderful experience here being served by our gracious hostess Uta. She was brilliant in explanation and stellar in product knowledge. Walked away with a few bottles of Gewürztraminer and will be ordering more soon!
Great spot
This is a must to do when you're visiting the Beamsville bench area. Superb wines, friendly staff and of you that is absolutely breathtaking. You do not want to miss this Winery.
Custom wine pairing...! ????
Was looking forward to my first wine tasting experience to treat myself and my partner after a long day. After waiting for several minutes to be seated, we were told to seat ourselves. After 15 minutes of zero acknowledgement and complete neglect, my partner and myself decided to leave. Views 5/5 Customer Service 0/5 Overall experience - dreadful
Awesome
One of the better small wineries in the region. Fabulous Rieslings with a very educational tasting.
Surroundings are nice and the tasting room is well organized allowing you to taste with your relatives quietly but the wines were all disappointing.
This was part of our journey and birthday experience. The vineyard stroll was an excellent way to ease into the day. The Riesling was fabulous. Really enjoyed it and would recommend everyone grab a bottle. The Cabernet franc was also great but a very expensive bottle. Rightfully so picking up 97 points at a world competition!
Fantastic service, beautiful view, had the flight. So good had to have another glass. Will be back.
Love this vinery.
This was by far the nicest Niagara region wine tasting experience we've had (over the years we've tried at least 10). The "Lodge" is small but focussed on a higher end wine tasting and food pairing. With beautiful views over the vineyard. And the wines were good: the sparkling Reisling and standard "red blend" were quite good. I bought six at $25 per bottle. We'll worth visiting. We'll be back.
Love this place. Beautiful setting, great wine and knowledgeable staff.
The wife and I had a great experience here. Fiona was quite helpful and did a lot to attend to us given how busy and packed the place was. The winemaker reisling was amazing. We loved all their red wines. We skipped the picnic that was planned at the beach and had it right by their vineyard. As some other reviews have mentioned some of the wines are a bit pricey however since they don't produce a large scale like some other vineyards it is understandable. We will definitely return in the near future.
Gorgeous location and great wine tasting experience. Will be back!
Very quaint vineyard that specializes in small batches. Staff very informative.

stunning, relaxed, peaceful
I have been visiting this winery for decades even before it became part of the Andrew Peller umbrella. This was my worst experience ever! My friend and I arrived and were prepared for our usual pleasant experience and after our tasting to buy a bottle or two as we always have! We were greeted very abruptly and it was all about the sale! We told the woman we would like our tasting outside by the vines. She hastily rung each of our tastings, when asked if they would take five dollars off if we buy a bottles she said we are not doing that at this time! No eye contact, no thank you’s, nothing! Like she was doing us a favour! After we pause I waited at one of the tables while my friend went to the bathroom and two of the staff members one of which I always see there and who has always been pleasant! Was not impressed with what took place next! Her and another staff member were feet away from me in front of one of the windows and they were muttering something the. Looked at me and went into gales of laughter and they parted ways! Long story short I did not have a pleasant experience and once upon a time my favourite winery and would always be one of my first wineries to visit is no longer on my favourite list! It will be a very long time before I ever visit Thirty Bench again! Furthermore where do they get off charging $20 plus tax for a rating if three and other wineries are charging $10 and some $15 at the most for four! I do not recommend this winery and if you do visit hope your experience is a good one! Never were we treated the way we were treated yesterday! Blah!
Small lot winery - 15$ tasting fee (the most expensive tasting we visited during weekend) Wine was nothing exceptional. Left without a purchase.
I love the brand, I've had their wines before and is delicious. We did not have reservations but wanted to stop by to see if they could take us in. Admittedly it was busy around 5 pm. When we arrived, the woman seemed disgruntled that we came in last minute and told us we'll be her last tasting of the day. We did not feel welcomed. I'd rather her tell us they're closed and turn us away. Someone at the bar told us about the different wines took our orders and asked us to have a seat. She brought us the wines and that was it. I understand we were their last tasting of the day, but the point of the tasting is to try and sell their bottles. No one talked to us after the drinks were delivered. Other than the customer service (or lack thereof) the wines were delicious and the winery itself wasn't as busy as the bigger ones and is very beautiful.
Great wine! Not as fancy as some of the other wineries in the area but probably my favourite one that we visited. Worth a pop in to try a glass or two.
Have been here on several occasions. Very friendly staff doing the tastings. They are well know for the their Rieslings. The triangle Riesling is magnificent!!
Very picturesque. When we visited years ago, this was one of my wife's favorite wineries. Now the charge to $15 taste 4 wines just seems greedy. And unlike other wineries which waive the charge if you buy one bottle, Thirty Bench only gives you a five dollar discount on each of your first three bottles. This just left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. (pardon the pun). Note that it isn't a money issue- we are more than happy to pay for a good product. But when your first interaction at a wine tasting is being presented with the price, it diminishes the experience. The service was good though. Still, nobody in our group bought anything. Even with the little discount, nothing seemed worth it. The only wine anyone in our group really liked was over $70 a bottle. And of course, you had to pay $10 an ounce to taste it. The constant nickle and diming robbed the experience of any charm. Apparently they have been acquired by a larger company. The change has not been for the better.
Scenic view of vineyard and lake from tasting room, good wines (try the Steel and Wood Posts in succession!), and terrific service. I probably can't overstate how knowledgeable, kind, and easygoing our sommelier, Natalie, was.
Absolutely the best tasting wine of all the wineries we toured that day!! The staff were great and Ute answered all of our questions and was so pleasant! Really wish the LCBO would carry more of their wines as we live in Ottawa
Loved it. Such a great little gem. Yesterday was such a clear beautiful day we could see Toronto in the distance. Beautiful property so relaxing.
Very nice winery and the staff is super friendly but found the wines a little pricy. I prefer Henry of Pelham
I recently took some out of town friends to Thirty Bench and was embarrassed by the reception. Immediately upon arrival, we were asked " who is paying?"...not welcome, please come in, thank you.. who is paying! Strange idea of customer service. Will not return or recommend.
Warm welcome from staff with a lovely selection of wine and gifts, will visit again ????
Excellent wines and beautiful views.
Lovely experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the wine. Will definitely be back.
Loved this! As somebody that doesn't fully understand different wines and how the land affects the taste, it was very educational. Staff was fun and professional and the wine was delicious.
Long time customer, recent wine club member. Property, staff and wine tasting experience is always world class. Thirty Bench is my home away from home!
Wonderful place
Great spot, on a clear day you can see Toronto.
Small and friendly.
The wines were very good. Almost bought a case lol
Easy to find, great wine. One of my favorite wineries in the area, I've been here in all seasons and it's just beautiful. Lots of space for events too! Tasting flight was a little overpriced in my opinion because they give you only 3, small …
Excellent experience. We like the small wineries better. Thank you for your commitment to service
*do not recommend* Stood inside waiting to be seated when eventually a few minutes later someone told us to have a seat. Sat down and waited for 15 minutes - 15 minutes too long - with no acknowledgement from any staff despite making eye contact with a few. We then got up and left. This was the one stop I had planned today as an end of a busy day’s treat. I am extremely disappointed.
We had a great experience! Beautiful tasting room. The staff member who helped us was welcoming and very knowledgable about the various wines (I wish I could remember her name - Gale?) We learned a lot on our visit and took home a few great bottles that we now know more about! We will be back again!
Five of us had a great visit to Thirty Bench yesterday. Our tastings included detailed information about the different soils and how it makes each wine taste differently. The rieslings were incredible and we purchased a few including the sparkling Riesling. An overall wonderful experience and great views. Thank you Thirty Bench.
Very nice tasting experience.
They have a really nice view. Wine wise not that much special to offer. Nice decoration tho
Love the wine, never disappointed
Very nice experience :)
For me not ...bad for a first timer. Loved it
Have been here before and it was a less than stellar experience. First of all the staff were unfriendly and completely rushed us. As we were sitting down they made a comment that we needed to hurry up. There was also an employee at the front and walking throughout the winery asking people to sign-in for contact tracing all while NOT WEARING A MASK!!!! She had a scarf she would sometimes hold against her face but wow, to what a terrible example to set for your customers.
We visited Thirty Bench this past Friday and I can say that I will never return or recommend to anyone. After visiting another winery down the road and having an excellent experience, this was a total let down! We had made reservations about a week prior so knowing that we were coming at a specific time, you would think that seating would be reserved for us all together, but no, we were sat outside the tasting room at 2 different tables(party of 6). We asked if we could be seated in the glass tasting room and were given a snotty answer of well then I will have to clean everything. Really? Do you want business or not? I understand the precautions due to Covid but come on, we made reservations. The menu was thrown at us and none of the wines they were featuring that day were explained to us. We were given a time limit of 25 minutes to sample 3 wines. It was not enough time to really relax, taste and enjoy the scenery. We were rushed and when asked if we could purchase some different samples, the girl said she would have to check. Check what? Do you want our bus or not? The server also would go in the back where we could see her talking about us to other employees. Very unprofessional!! We left when our quick 25 minutes was up, never purchased any additional bottles of wine or accessories available and will never return or recommend to anyone. Rude staff! I would give this rating a zero if it was an option.
(Translated) Beautiful experience and welcoming staff, good wine. Magnificent place. (Original) Belle expérience et personnels accueillants, bon vin .Endroit magnifique.
It would get a 5 if they had snacks available, but this is 2020 and there are restrictions. One of my favourite local vineyards.
The wine here is amazing. But the service was sooo poor. We booked Wine Tasting here and after they gave us the wine, without any explanations, the lady just left us. She never even came back to ask how we're doing. She just came back to clean up. And there's literally only 6 people there. So there is no excuse here. We will not come back here anymore.
Nice location. Some terrific wines.
I brought a group into this fabulous winery. We had the most wonderful experience. DEB. took such good care of us. From the guided tour, in the vines, to the private tasting room., she handled it all with grace. We all learned alot . Deb's passion rubbed off us!!! Thank you Deb., for making our experience so GREAT!! BTW the wine is teriffic!!!
Thirty Bench always puts on a good show. Or guide was Margaret, she was very knowledgeable about the wine and winery itself, and took a good care of the group of twenty. We did the “snowshoe” event in the vineyard, not a lot of snow but who cares. We took time to explore several different lots with varieties of Riesling, Chardonnay, and then winemakers Red which was a blend , with Cab Frank a dominant variety. The tasting quantities are generous. The event ended with a hot soup served by Ravelle, and served at the back outdoor tables. Nice setting, facing west and basking in the January and felt like staying there for hours. Full glass of favourite wine and late harvest Vidal for the end, all included in the $65 price. One of our fav events every year. Great folks.
Great place definitely try the wine tasting ????Asome place ???? by. Friendly staff
