I enjoyed the Loch Side. Nice menu, food was good. We tried the haggis tower which was delicious. I had the Ale pie which i enjoyed. My friend had the fish pie but was not impressed. The stickie toffee pudding was a great success. Little pricey but would still go back. Our waiter (Daniel I think) was new but did a really good job.

Came on Canada day for a beer. Place is nice, and it has a decent size patio. Although it was busy our server was very attentive and always made sure we were ok. Food came out fast and it was tasty. I was lucky enough to book into Loch Side for my wedding reception in Sept 2021. Everything from the first meeting with Sukhi was flawless. Alex and his incredible organization AND musical skills really made the night special. The communication, COVID safety, food and drink quality (and quantity!!), service attentiveness - literally EVERYTHING. Everyone was blown away by how great it was and how diverse and tasty the food was. Plus - the world's best cocktails! 100/10.

A very limited menu with no Scottish items on iwhich is inexplicable for a so called Scottish Restaurant. One of the few Scottish beers on the menu was unavailable. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich which was more like a roast beef with gravy. I've had better from M&M Meats. Will not be returning

First time visiting and we will be back. My wife had the fish and chips and I can vouch the fries being delicious. I ordered the fish curry as recommended by Michele and it was delicious!. We split a Thornbury Honey crisp cider. The menu is limited but it makes up for in taste.

I ate here for the first time over the long weekend and had an interesting experience! I ordered the bacon & scallop pasta which was okay, though I was hoping for a bit more flavour for the price. When I didn’t asked for a to go container, our server was great and asked again if everything was okay with the food. I did say at that point that I didn’t really enjoy it. She said I should have told her earlier when she checked in because they would have tried to make it right, which was awesome. What would have been even better was if they’d asked why I hadn’t mentioned it prior to what felt like being given a lecture on how I should have said something earlier. I really didn’t have the time or desire to wait for another dish, so I was happy to let it be. Not ever dish you eat at a restaurant is going to wow you. It was just a bit of a strange experience to be so passionately told what I should have done, so that they could have then done something about while I was still sitting there. If they genuinely wanted to make it right (though I wasn’t even asking), maybe just offer a coupon or a discount that can be applied to a future visit? I left not intending to come again and that might have encouraged me to come try something else when I had time. Food for thought =)

Very slow service. Waitress never came by to apologize or ask us if we needed refills on our drinks while we waited for food. I had to track her down. Took almost 40 minutes to get our order. Food was only ok, definitely not worth the price. I’m not really sure what makes this place Scottish. Menu didn’t have much Scottish food on it. Won’t be going back

First day of spring and enjoyed a great lunch on their patio. Had their Taste of Burlington Special. Broccoli cheddar soup, Brisket with mash potatoes and a side of kale spinach salad, ended with cookies and cream cheesecake. ???? Last but not least service was great, thank you Michele for your smiles under that mask, your upbeat attitude and excellent service.

Came here on a Sunday with my parents and my boyfriend. Great experience! The portions are generous and everything was delicious! I got the fish and chips, boyfriend had the brisket and Scottish ale pie and both my parents had the fish pie. High praise on all fronts but especially from my parents on the fish pie. Cannot recommend enough. Our waiter Alex was also fantastic.

I don’t typically comment on these platforms, but I find that after tonight’s experience I must… I love the loch side, the staff I find are brilliant and have been going there since it opened. My wife and I know everyone by name and they know what our preferred first drink is, which is nominal on our table before we sit down..makes you feel like this is your local!! However, having been there for over three years, the owner has yet to acknowledge our existence. I actually had know idea who he was until tonight. Imagine being the only two people in the lounge and the owner who is lighting candles at every table bypasses you, not even making eye contact and making no acknowledgement of your existence, completely ignores you! As an employee it’s shameful as an owner it is completely unacceptable. If you’re business is struggling, looking in the mirror mate. You can make a difference…

I had a very bad experience when I called your restaurant to book reservation today for my daughter's birthday ..I called to ask whether I can reserve my space for 3.30pm and the guy told me that he will look into the book and let me know . He saw in the book and said yes we do have spot. Further I asked him whether I can get something lake facing and he said patio is closed and to which I asked whether we can sit inside and reserve to lakeside space to which he said I am full for 4.30pm and then added no I m fully booked for whole day... so I gently asked him but you said you have something for 3.30pm then why is there change ...to which he rudely replied "please don't give me attitude ok I said I will see the book"...watever your reply is.. but is this the way you reply??? What attitude did I show in asking for reservation? I felt completely insulted and humiliated with his rude tone. I hope that other customers don't get this kind of treatment

Went in around 8pm on a Friday night with my wife and son. We were greeted kindly by the host and brought to a table outside. That is the only reason they got a single star. After that not one employee spoke to us for 25-30 minutes. Menu looked amazing and we were super disappointed not to have had a chance to try it.

My stepson and I tried Loch Side for the first time on the weekend and the food was fantastic! In the midst of the pandemic, they kindly made ready to eat meals which were awesome. Came from the UK to visit my son in Burlington recently and happened upon the Loch Side whilst walking along the lake front. My wife and I had for lunch probably the best salads that we have ever tasted so decided to book it for an evening meal on our anniversary a few days later. We were not disappointed the food was excellent and on both occasions the staff were attentive and welcoming. Shall definitely go back their again next time we visit. Highly recommended.

I made my first visit to Loch Side tonight and I was thrilled with the experience. From arrival, when their protocol for bringing in guests during these days of Covid was above and beyond, to the amazing food and even more fabulous cocktails, to the awesome service we had from Michelle, it was just a great way to spend a Friday evening!

5 Stars!! The chefs in this restaurant are incredible and you'll see menus change depending on the season! Scottish flair all around. The service and food were adequate, but not great. Both my husband and I thought that the food was essentially frozen food that had been reheated. Everything tasted kind of funny, but it was edible. It was basically bar food, which is okay but not for the price. We enjoyed the view and the nice patio. The service was pleasant. We won't be going back as there's nothing special here.

We were in Burlington to do a quick errand and ended up at Loch Side by pure luck. I say "luck" because we found a gem of a resto. The food was excellent but what really stood out for us was the service. Michelle was AMAZING... So knowledgeable about the wines and such a wonderful, welcoming personality. Frankly we just felt lucky to have gotten a table!! Hence (on this day) we were more than willing to overlook the lack of Scottish options on the menu. The outdoor patio offers gorgeous views, is beautifully treed. Idyllic location. My quinoa dish was amazing and my friend (who's been to restaurants worldwide) claimed the beef brisket was excellent (the side salad not so much). Don't usually eat dessert but both of us indulged and tried the caramel walnut cheesecake. It was "out of this world"! Service was excellent and engaging on a busy evening. Throughly enjoyable.

My wife and I had lunch there last Thursday as the owner assists the Wellington Square Meal Bag Program by getting bulk restaurant supplies from his source. I thought this is a business I need to support as I volunteer in the kitchen at the Meal Bag Program. Our lunch was fabulous. Our server Michelle was personal and professional. I had the lamb curry which was one of the best curries I've ever had. My wife had the seafood risotto which she said was delicious. We will be back Lochside. Went to Loch Side once again. It’s my favourite patio in Burlington. Right on the corner with the best views of Lake Ontario and passers by. Ordered fish and chips for myself and my daughter ordered bacon scallop pasta. Both were perfectly cooked and arrived quickly. Faith was our waitress. She was great! She was attentive and friendly. I would be glad to return with her as our server. 10/10 recommend.

Tried Loch Side this evening. Service was excellent, attentive young woman named May (Mei)? Food was good, burger and poutine. $17.50 for an 8 oz glass of Woodbridge Chardonnay WTF?? Not much on the menu, what happened to the Scotch Egg? With tip we spent 95 bucks!!! Hard decision to go back.

Very slow service and very long wait times. Food is good, standard fare, nothing that sets it apart from competitors or justifies the wait. Best things going for this place are location, a decent patio with good drink selection. If I didn’t completely finish my drink and have to flag down a passing waitress to get a refill, I’d at least come back for drinks.

Terrible experience here! The food was soggy and cold with absolutely no flavour. When we told the waiter he said on sorry about that it’s a very busy night. Even tho the patio only had two other tables full and there were no tables inside with people. We ordered two drinks, the menu is confusing because you have to order a drink then add the alcohol shot to the drink. However when we got the drinks they tasted like water, there was no alcohol. When we told the waiter about the drinks he went back to the bartender and came back 20mins later and said on the bartender said he made the drinks right with alcohol. And then didn’t offer us new drinks or offer us an apology or anything and then still were charged for the extra alcohol charge and yet we had watered down drinks. It was a terrible experience and the customer service of the experience was disappointing.

Food was terrific but service was incredibly slow. I also did not appreciate having the waiter stop me on the sidewalk as I was passing by the restaurant saying that I did not pay for my bill when I did. The bill he brought over indicated a grand total and he had another waitress come over and process the payment. He accused me of only paying for half of the bill which I have never experienced in my life. I understand that mistakes happen, but this was unacceptable.

We had a highly enjoyable first visit on Sunday, July 4th. The service was effortless (Shannon), the ambiance was delightful and the food was really good. I was taken aback by the small menu - I expected to see Scottish dishes, but they only serve fish & chips, wings, a burger, 2 pastas and 3 curries, along with a few sandwiches. A typical menu at many pubs downtown. We were charged 7.75 for a non-alcoholic Hoegaarden that was listed on the menu for 3.25. I wouldn't pay 7.75 for a no alochol beer. Decided not to make a big deal of it. But I will ask about pricing before ordering if we go back. Frankly, we'll wait until we see a menu that excites us on line.

Just Celebrated my moms birthday here tonight and we were very impressed. They surprised us with a complimentary birthday toast (a glass for everyone) and cheesecake at the end of the meal for her. The food was delicious (I’ll be going back for more lentil daal) and our server was so attentive. Happy to find our new favourite spot!

I don't give 5 stars lightly, honestly, I could not find a single fault. My wife and I went down for taste of Burlington, and their price fixed three course meal. Service was top notch. Food was a very interesting Scotch Indian fusion. We both enjoyed everything we tried. I would not hesitate to try anything on that menu. If you like whisky, they have a huge selection.

Amazing and affordable restaurant! They change their menu frequently so there is always something new to try. Unfortunately, could not get any photos. They were very patient! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SERVICE ON JACKIE (Our server for the night). I called ahead of time to make a reservation, they did have a policy on reservations on the weekends however, the establishment made an exception due to being a party of 10!! ???? Grateful to the ladies and staff for the night. ???? Since we booked before 10pm, we had access to the Daytime Menu which had a lot of options for my friends birthday party. They also were very considerate with my friend's taste pallette and did their best to serve them wonderfully. The hostess also confirmed and informed me that their will be 18% tip gratuity due to the amount of service for the group. I believe some of my friends double tipped Jackie due to her great service! Definitely reccomended!! They did great for a newly established restaurant.

August 24th 2019 / given a table without menus / ignored for 20 minutes / we walked next door to Pepperwoods where we should've gone all along and greeted promptly. Despite being open for about six weeks, nothing takes the place of good waitstaff that touch tables with "I'll be with you in a moment". Saw all the other reviews of slow wait times. Well...here's another one.

There are restaurants that look all fancy from the outside and the food turns out to be not so great. and then there are the opposites. Surprisingly good food for a reasonable price. Not too many options but some very interesting items; some international options as well. Even had good and healthy salad options.

Best meal in Burlington our crew has ever had. We tried every single appetizer and every one was better than the last!! Favourite entrees were the brisket sandwich which melted in ur mouth, the burger with pea meal bacon, and the seafood linguine were close seconds. Michelle is a kind and super fun server, who won the award this year for best server in Burlington!! She recommended we get a round of the strawberry lemonade and it was very refreshing, the perfect summer drink. Patio was comfortable, lots of space and adjustable umbrellas. View of the lake was a bonus. Highly recommend this spot if you are looking for great service great food and great ambience all in one. Great patio and great ambience. The food was fantastic. I had the muscles and it was for sure the best muscles I have had in a long time, the garlic/wine sauce was so delicious ???? . Service was ridiculously slow. There was one other table of 2 when we were here. When we finally got the soup it was cold. It took 50 minutes from ordering to get the burger. The waitress was nice but blamed everything on the kitchen staff. The soup was so cold it was impossible that she couldn't have noticed.

First Loch experience tonight. Loch is offering amazing meals during this COVID season- one being BOGO $10 meals for healthcare workers! (Thank you for this- it’s SO appreciated). I ordered 2 ale pies, 1 butter chicken, and 1 gnocchi Al forno. Pick up process was very easy, the restaurant front was very clean, tidy, and organized. Staff were incredibly kind and friendly. Re-heat directions were included in a signed letter from the head chef and owner. I heated a few bites of each food when I got home (I was to excited not tot try) and it was all delicious! Now I have lunch ready in the fridge/ freezer for work this week. I’m excited to try this restaurant for REAL and in person when life is back to normal!

How to do describe a perfect pub dinner? "The Loch Side" A place that would fit in neatly as a superb pub in Edinburgh. We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon and were met by Alex our host. All through our time and meal he was excellent, attentive and caring. We started with the "Haggis Bon Bons", yes I know curl your nose. Letting you know that they are really good and have real haggis in them. They are the real thing. For our entree two of us had the Fish Pie. This not your typical pie, it has no pastry. It is a wonderful fish stew covered with browned mash potatoes. Words do not describe how good it is. I have been to Scotland twice and have never had anything as good as this. I would have a hard time ordering anything else. My daughter had the Fish and Chips. In Ottawa we have a very good restaurant that serves a few variations of North Sea Haddock with Chips. It is well known as being the best in the area. The Loch Side "Wee Fish & Chips" blows them away both in the quality of the fish and the fries are wonderful. Be aware that "Wee" is a pun for large. Finally be aware they do have Scottish Beer. Overall our short visit was beyond description and is well worth this small very positive article.

This is our 4th visit to Loch Side bar since they have reopened and each time keeps setting the bar higher & higher. Sukhi sat us quickly and entertained the table with her charm and Witt with all of us smiling before we got our drinks. I ordered the Burger with sweet potato fries and it was phenomenal! We attended for a birthday celebration on Canada day 2020 with our group and happy we did. Our server Ximena was new to her position and made us feel like family from the beginning. If you are in the Burlington area and looking for the best view/service check out Loch Side!

It's a pretty restaurant and probably a great place for a drink on the patio in the summer. But the food was not good. The service was great and the beer came in a big mug! It was clean and the tables were nicely spaced apart.

We had a great experience at Lochside! The view was amazing, food was great and service was top notch! Our server Michelle was so personable, attentive, great sense of humor and took such a great care of us. She went out of her way to make me a special drink that was not on the menu, recommended best choices in the menu because it was out first time dine in. We will be back to see Michelle regularly because we are local. Lucy and Bryan :)

Just had the most delicious take home meal from Loch Side! At $10 each, we got the brisket and ale pie, fish pie and butter chicken w rice and naan. The food tasted outstanding, and it’s a bonus to be greeted with a warm smile and friendly conversation too. Very happy to support this local business during hard times!

This is a tremendous restaurant and huge improvement over the restaurant that was there previously. Having eaten there over 15 times the dishes are constantly excellent loaded with fresh ingredients and sauces made from scratch. Sooky, the owner, provides a great selection of Indian inspired dishes, which I believe are his in laws recipes, as well as high end, classic Gastropub favourites. It is my favourite spot in town and would highly suggest it to anyone. If you are not familiar with the neighborhood it is on the corner - not to be confused with Pepperwoods (meh).

During this challenging time for outdoor patios, my party of 3 was extremely impressed with the congeniality of the hostess who went out of her way to locate us when our table was ready, the supreme cuisine knowledge of our server Chrissy and the excellent food, including an Angus burger with local greens and authentic butter chicken with rice and Naan. My better half and I have walked by this place many times wondering what Scottish food is, other than Haggis. I've now been twice and it is more than haggis and it is delish! Loved the fish pie and steak special. Ambience is elegantly cozy. The staff is Devine, especially Jade!!

The waitress we had gave us a bad experience on our first visit additional to that muscles were raw, not properly cooked and I got food poisoning from it. Done in is not a opened although it’s allowed therefore people are forced to be in the patio dealing with noises. I’ll never recommend this place or visit this place again.

Lock Side is a great spot to enjoy a cold beer on the patio (I recommend Innis & Gunn!) or a family dinner. The food is delicious, inspired pub food with a Scottish twist. The servers and staff are friendly, especially the manager Stephanie who really went out of her way to make our visit special for our daughters. We’ve been coming here since they opened and will be back very soon, I’m sure! Cheers!

Amazing bar and lounge! It was my first time visiting Burlington in years and my groups’ first time in general. I decided to make reservations for my girls birthday here and everything was perfect. The beautiful lights walking up to the place, the ambiance inside, the comfort of the seating, and the food was absolutely wonderful. Received beyond excellent service from Alex. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and the various drinks. At the end of the night since we were the last ones left, he was even kind enough to take a few photographs of our group at the bar! Will definitely be back :)

First time here at Loch Side and I likely will never return. Despite its prime location along Lakeshore and Burlington waterfront, nothing about its food or service is prime. The service was extremely slow especially on Saturday afternoon when it wasn’t busy. Lots of open tables available even with social distancing. Our table did not understand as to why we received the service we did. Our orders arrived 30minutes after ordering, we then had to wait to flag down a server or a member of staff to receive our cutlery that should’ve been provided from the moment we sat down. I ordered a brisket that was just drenched in this mushroom soup. To my surprise the cheese was not melted, which makes me wonder how fresh the brisket was. My buddy ordered a Caesar salad which isn’t really hard to mess up. I agree with the sentiments of others before who’ve said their food is at a bar-like quality at premium price. Would I recommend this place to friends and family? Probably not.

Lovely restaurant with interesting mix of Indian and Scottish cuisine. Mid week dinner and the place was quiet, so we had a very attentive and friendly waiter. Our group all coincidentally ordered the beef pie and were extremely happy, potato on top and a healthy servings of sides. Looks recently renovated, I would definitely recommend it if you are in the mood to try something a little different!

So I'd like to start off by saying there is nothing Scottish about this restaurant we thought loch side fantastic we will get some upscale Scottish food but we were sorely mistaken ... the fish and chips were dry overcooked and tasteless the brisket sandwich was basically a sloppy Joe with gravy and had a fishy after taste we came with our son and we weren't offered a highchair or anything ... the waitress was sweet and honestly should get a job at another restaurant because this place is a dive Please look up what Scottish food is atleast before trying to open a Scottish restaurant
