You have the reviews of people who used the products of Backed By Bees (Winery) near to the area of Burlington (Canada).
At the moment the business has a rating of 4.9 out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 52 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is almost the best one, and it's founded on a very large number of scores, so we can say that the evaluation is quite credible. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Winery corresponds to the category of Honey farm.
I had read about this on a public forum and decided to go for a lil drive this afternoon. It was so very worth it, so interesting, and not only did I purchase honey, I found a few fresh local produce items as well. I will definitely return. Keep up the great work.
We stopped in after visiting the local lavender farm because we saw the fresh corn sign. My hubby walked in and chatted and asked about brew and who knew there is honey mead and we love it. So fresh kale, tomatoes, corn, homegrown honey and several bottles of mead (cherry, blueberry and regular flavour). Friendliest service and so happy to support local. ????. We are beelievers ;)
Found this place while on a bike ride, and thank God I did. their amber honey is stupid good. I've never tasted honey this amazing. It's got a smokey flavor, and I use it in tea and coffee rather than sugar and its unbelievable. I will never buy honey from anyone else again.
What a great little place! Great owner too! I suspect mead drinks will be the new 'cider' very soon!
Amazing staff, delicious products! Great source of locally grown and made food!
After passing this farm by many times on the road, I finally made the trip into the little market. I was so excited to see the wide range in local offerings such as dairy, eggs, cheeses, etc. (Especially since the Milton farmer's market isn't on during the winter) The raw honey I bought was a very reasonable price and had a great taste and texture. The Mead I bought was equally delicious. I tried both the blueberry session brew as well as the cherry. (To note, this is my first time trying Mead) my only regret was not coming here sooner! I will definitely be returning!!!
Kept driving by it until I decided to stop and realized this is quite the spot to bee. They have mead and other varieties of meads. Cheese, jams, spreads, all local, organic and fresh. I couldn’t Bee-lieve it. Buy local, support local. Go and Bee present.
Unique products, amazing helpful staff. Everytime I visit I find a new treasure and the smoked honey is to die for.
Another great haul. Never disappointed.
My girlfriend and I were enjoying a nice fall day and were on our way home after getting pumpkins and treats for other places in the area. As we were driving I noticed a sign with the words “honey” and “mead” written in chalk. I was so happy because mead is hard to come by in Ontario and I love the stuff. I slammed on the breaks and turned the car around to check it out. This place was awesome! A very cool find with lots of great things for the table. We ended up buying a bottle of honey wine two cans of original and two bottles of blueberry mead. We came home eager to carve our pumpkins and taste this local mead. And to be honest, we weren’t too impressed. Let me preface this by saying I’ve had quite a bit of mead in my short time on earth but by no means am I an expert. We first tried the blueberry mead. After a sip or two we noticed it had an odd flavour, almost like chemicals. I’d compare it to the smell of a shoe store. Same for the cans although a little worse. Last we had the honey wine. I know some wine makers fortify there wine when they don’t reach there desired alcohol content but this one had a very strong spirit taste, almost like vodka. To be honest I’m really not that upset because we had a really nice experience. And I know brewing and wine making can be a fickle lover, where you can do everything right and for some reason it doesn’t turn out the way you’d plan. Having said all that I would highly recommend to go and see for yourself and just enjoy the place. I’ll be back soon or maybe next year to try the next vintage !!
Fantastic innovate products! One of a kind and highly delicious.
Great little spot for local honey and mead
Worth the visit for the mead, honey, local products and a chat with Dave.
This is a wonderful place. Its relaxing and the store has some really awesome bee related products. Great selection of local meats and sausages, local grown vegetables and even baked products. There is even mead tasting as well with honey treats for the kids. Very knowledgeable staff and a wonderful experience for a family day trip/picnic. There is even a picnic spot by the bee hives. The store is really nice, clean and crisp. Plenty of parking and easy to find.
Great shop with a wide array of fresh local produce, honey and honey products and mead. Super friendly and informative staff who were welcoming. Tasting room for the mead is coming soon! Only things to note are that It has a relatively small parking lot. Definitely plan to drop by again!
A young operation. Store is in a shipping container. Many shelves of products, mead, jams, preserves, honey, soap, bees wax, etc. A freezer full of local meats and poultry products, garden products. Vincent showed us around and answered questions. Very interesting and agreeable visit.
Are you looking for a Bee Beard experience? This is the right place. In fact this is the only place which you feel very comfortable of doing it. Dave is a very very knowledgeable experience Beekeeper. What you need to prepare is ear and nose plugs. He told me that I should expect a few bee stung by the end. But I end up not getting a single bee stung at all. During the bees crawling up my body, Dave follow up very closely and even tell me step by step like now the bees are tickling you. And now walk around will create vibration which make the bees move upward. Finally, Dave told me to jump up and lean my body forward at the same time, so the bees will fall close to the entrance of the hive. After that, I step backward 2 steps (very important) because I don't want to step on the bees. Then after 2 or 3 more jumps, he pass me a brush to brush off the bees around my body. The whole duration is about 1 and half hour. I also learn a lot the Golden rod flowers about the nectar flows. Anything questions related to beekeeping, Dave will be the best advisor. I believe he offer the consulting service with a very reasonable price. Also this farm offer the best mead. The bee haven, I personally like the hopped ones. This farm is also selling their partners food products like eggs, milk, vegetables and etc. Therefore this is a One Stop Shop for the locals. And I believe support the locals will give us more fresh and new products in the near future.
Backed by Bees has a beautiful colourful exterior that is eye catching and vibrant! There is ample parking and wheelchair accessibility to enter the shop. Inside there is a huge distillery that is very clean and well organized. The products are all local and of very high quality. Highly recommend visiting to see what products they have for that day. In the summer they also do tours of the all property to see the hives!
Haaaaa! I cant stress how high quality this brand is. From the awesome raw honey itself to the amazing customer service the business offers. I got hooked right away!. Unfortunately at that time they had no stores selling close to me... but thanks to Google I found the store owners email ...and sent my request... long story short this is my second purchase... 1kg x 4 First order which lasted me forever.... and now ordered 1kg x5 ...all through email.... thnak you David ... thabk you so much ones again for the seamless customer service amd AMAZING HONEY!... in love supporting Canadian business :) ....Adenike
Great little shop. Mead was delicious. Looking forward to coming back!
Awesome variety of local and bee based products.
Great little shop! Friendly and great selection of local goods. The honey and mead is awesome!
Went for the Yelp experience today and tried both their canned Meads, we loved the hoppy one! We enjoyed our drinks outside at their picnic table behind a big beautiful tree that stands in front of some beehives (well out of distance if you don't want to be near but close enough to admire from afar). The shop is very aesthetic & staff was knowledgeable & passionate. She offered a mead tasting & the Bee Sippin' Brochet Mead was crazy good! Overall wonderful experience ????
Employee that waited me was very pleasant, gave me a lot of information about what they do as a brand, as well as detailed information on the product I was looking for. Definitely worth visiting.
Fresh Ontario produce bundles, great selection of dairy, honey and other tasty treats! Friendly and helpful staff who answered my many questions! I also bought some of the Cherry Mead to try, delicious!
Just an amazing assortment of locally sourced produce and an excellent variety of bee backed products which are nurtured on the farm by energetic and resourceful entrepreneurs!
High quality products and incredibly friendly customer service.
Top quality locally sourced products!
The staff are helpful and explain everything in detail and have a spirit of belief in their work. God bless you all who are there. They also have natural honey
Great local products. Would highly recommend!
Amazing little farm shop. Great selection of locally grown produce, amazing mead and the best honey! The entire team are super helpful and friendly too. Definitely worth a visit!
We pass the store 3-4 times a month but never stopped until recently. Really wanted to support a local business and check out their products. We bought sausage(not sure if it’s their own brand but it was 4/5). We got some raw honey(nothing special. It’s honey and 4/5). We bought two different meads and this is where we were utterly disappointed. You’d think it would be amazing based on price. But it was a true disappointment. We might stop by for the sausages as it is hard to find beef sausages(I don’t eat pork). But definitely staying away from the meads.
Great products and friendly service. Highly recommend
Great stuff. Great Staff. Amazing meads, honey and meats. All local ????????
Friendly service good product
Dropped in for some honey (for my hunny's tummy) and my daughers had a great interactive conversation with the gentleman ringing us up. He talked to them about Queen Bees and other interesting bee facts. Super pleasant interaction with a great learning experience. Oh, and they honey is amazing! We will be back.
