If I could rate this place higher than five stars I would do so in a heartbeat. My friend and I came down from Toronto last weekend and visited several wineries - the staff at BTL gave us a stand-out experience, from the Landrover ride through the vineyards and the outdoor tasting, to the down-home welcoming hospitality all over the estate. The wines are both delicious and amazingly-priced, and the two brothers Greg and Yannick who run the winery are adorable and charming. Looking forward to returning!!

Went here for a wine tasting because the name sounded cool! I never expected it to be one of my favorite visits to a winery. Dwight was a great host and was extremely knowledgeable and gave us very interesting pairings, I had an excellent time filled with a lot of laughs. Danica was awesome as a narrator and she showed genuine interest in my group. Ralf was also a good sport, recommending what we should buy. I will be back here to do the Grape to Glass . Ordered a case of wine on Saturday, was supposed to be delivered Monday by noon , it's almost five on Tuesday and somehow they missed even processing the order. Cancelled my order will try another winery. Very disappointing.

We toured a mix of big wineries and smaller ones in Niagara-on-the-Lake. This was one of my favourites in terms of the wines and the setting. The wines were excellent and Between the Lines had the best location, away from the buildings so you felt as if you were out in the vineyards, away from it all and very picturesque. The sommelier, Claudia, took her time explaining each wine so we didn’t feel rushed. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and obviously took pride in the vineyard and its wines. I was there with my family and Claudia was very friendly. We talked about our families and everyone had a great time.

Really great experience at Between the Lines - was pre-registered for a tasting here; it was relatively busy, but the wait for less than 5 minutes to get checked in and seated. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable - you could tell that everyone had in depth knowledge of their products - wines and ice wines. We're fans of red wines, and none of them disappointed. From the Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc to the higher end Pinot "Noah" and Lemberger - all great choices. And to end it off, the delicate Icewalker Cabernet Franc Icewine - tasted like kompot! Definitely recommend the tasting and wines!

Me and my girl friends went to between the lines winery yesterday for the first time and would highly recommend it! The wine was delicious, great atmosphere and beautiful view of the winery. Daniel was our host and he was amazing. Super nice and gave us all the history of the family and winery. I also booked for the charcuterie plate which I think you really need to do because the wine is complimented by the cheeses meat and nuts so well. 10/10

I am very particular about wine tastings and have to say this was one of my favourite experiences at a vineyard thus far. The staff worked hard to make sure the space was clean and safe, all the while being very friendly and hospitable. Shiven was very knowledgeable and taught us everything from grape to machinery used. My husband and I visited Between the Lines Winery while on a tour and had an amazing time. We were served by Taylor and because we came on a Wednesday we were her only guests when we arrived. We had such a great time with her! She was so funny and knowledgeable, and the wine so tasty we ended up taking home one of every bottle we tried. Thank you, Taylor! A hidden gem found between two military lines. This is a family-estate winery (originally from Stuttgart, Germany) started with production of Riesling, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir. Using only their own grapes, they went from 3 to 11 varieties and they have their 10th anniversary in 2020, plus another expansion on its way with adding new varieties - very exciting plans! They take pride in their production and it shows on the palate. We had a very enjoyable and entertaining sampling experience thanks to Elaine, giving us a table from where we could see the whole property... She was very knowledgeable about the winery's background and the production and could even threw in a little German to please our friends who speak German as well. Definitely recommend BTL's vibe, authentic hospitality and unique selection of wines. Try their crisp dry Riesling, the Gewürztraminer and Lemberger Reserve!

We had a tour here at the recommendation of the tour bus we hired. So glad we came here. It was the last stop on our tour. Greg was a patient and hospitable tour guide for our rambunctious group of 16! The wines were lovely - we tried 4 on our tour. Make sure you purchase your wines in their retail shop as they don't sell through LCBO. A beautiful small winery definitely worth stopping for.

My girlfriends and I did an afternoon wine tour yesterday and had a great time at the Between the Lines Winery! Connor was really informative and I really enjoyed the Suarez - can't wait to open up the bottle I bought! I surprisingly really enjoyed the canned wine! Totally going to pick some of that up at the LCBO. I just wish the charcuterie pairing was a little bigger or had more variety ie: apples, grapes or jams like how we make charcuterie at home, but I'm sure Covid has had an impact on that. Will definitely visit again!!

I loved this small, cozy, family winery. It is an excellent experience when you take their tour "From the grape to the glass". Costs only 15 $, includes tasting of 4 wines ( their 2 oz are the real 2 oz), and you learn from the first source many specific info about the winemaking process. The guide is knowledgeable. Tgey have a big variety of wine ( their riesling is exceptional) and good deals:6 bottles and 10% off. And the last, they have a very special product: canned sparkling wine- delicious ( the tour starts with it, wich is super nice). Must visit winery!!

I have to say we stop here about twice a year and love it but this year it seemed if you were not with a group you were not important. We could not get anyone to serve us tastings and had to find someone to actually ring us out with the one bottle we bought between the four of us. I placed an order through the winery's website to get a few bottles of the 'Pinot Noah' my husband and I were gifted a bottle when we had our baby Noah 9 months ago and I wanted to get a gift for our family. Unfortunately, the order was incorrect and the wrong bottles were sent. I contacted the winery and the issue was quickly dealt with! I want to acknowledge Connor and his amazing customer service in regards to fixing my order. My husband and I were so impressed with how Connor and his team managed the error. I went for a wine tasting through a group tour and this was our first stop. The bar was set high with the experience we had here. For beginners like ourselves who are just starting to get into wine, it was such a great experience to have a guide who was so laid back, funny and made the environment very comfortable to be in. Visited the winery last week and had a fantastic time. I went with a group of friends who enjoyed wine occasionally, but we were not complete experts in wine. We decided to book the junk food wine tasting and was guided by Elaine. She was amazing and made our experience. What I like about Between the Lines is that the winery is not intimidating for beginner or novice wine drinkers, but has a very welcoming atmosphere. I think we left the winery with a better appreciation for wine. Not to mention that the pairings were so creative, I would not have thought to pair a chardonnay with smart pop popcorn or to have a pinot noir with a twizzler dipped in chipotle bbq sauce. I felt safe during this experience and still had a great time especially with COVID the staff took special precaution to ensure social distancing.

We stopped here as part of a winery tour, and it was by far the favourite for the group. Greg took us through a wine and charcuterie pairing that was delightful! We definitely appreciated the individually prepared charcuterie plates, and Greg was quick to accommodate us and prepare a fresh nut free plate for one of our group members that has an allergy. Greg was very knowledgeable and passionate about wine, and just food and drink in general, it was a pleasure having him guide us through our tasting. The wines were delicious, especially the sparkling wine in the can. Such a unique way to purchase, and perfect for when you are on the go... I've already brought some along for a trip to the beach! I am so glad that we were able to discover Between the Lines on our tour, I will definitely be back!

What a wonderful experience we had here this afternoon. We did not realize that you needed to make a reservation for wine tasting these days so we were disappointed at the first two wineries that we went to during out tour of the region. Then we ended up at Between the Lines ... and that was a great turn of events for us. Although they were very busy they made space for us for a tasting. We were hosted by Ralf and he was well educated and well informed and this made out experience outstanding. We ended up buying Outset (amazing sparkling wine in a can ... yes in a can) ... I challenge you to find a better taste .... and then went on to some amazing reds and whites ... We left with a few bottles of Riesling and their reserve wine and of course some Outset in cans ... I hope you get a chance to experience the same ... and if you are a better planner than I am you can also order the charcuterie plate ... enjoy

What can I say? What words could be spoken? What rhetoric could be conveyed? Coming to Between the Lines for my first weekend off in a while was a nerve wracking prospect. It seemed liked it was going to be an exciting time, but also I was facef with self doubts. I was a wine novice, a grape child, a Pinot baby; would these individuals judge me for my sheer lack of tact and class? All I can say is that I was blown away by the warmness, professionalism and expertise demonstrated to me and my friends upon arriving. On top of some delicious wines and tasty morsels of our charcuterie boards, the hospitality demonstrated by our host was the cherry on top. We were aided by Ralf, who was such a gracious and knowledgeable guide on our tasting. He was so good at explaining each item we were tasting and always did it was a nice sense of humour. By the end of it I was starting to feel like a wine expert myself. I will definitely be recommending this placeall my frienfs who want to get into wines!

Great staff! We did the BTL Cheese & Charcuterie Wine Tasting and it was a nice experience. Outdoors and very socially distance friendly. It was only the two of us plus the server who explained the different types of wines they had and what goes with what. We were given some time to ourselves after the tasting so that was nice.

Had a wonderful time @ BTL Winery on a very rainy day. BTL is a smaller scale, family owned and operated winery with a no-nonsense feel to it. It doesn’t have the looks of large estate wineries but, from the start, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. Our host, Elaine, was very knowledgeable, entertaining and generous of her time. She gave a lot of interesting information about the winemaking process and specifics of the place. The wines we tasted were very good, especially the Prosecco style sparkling wine and the Pinot Noah, to my taste.

Had a wine tour/tasting with my partner here and greatly enjoyed it! Sam did a great job of showing us how everything works from vine to grape to processing to wine! We had a wonderful conversation, and walked away with some new favourite wines. Highly recommend a visit to this winery!

This was our 1st visit to a winery and we learned so much! The lady that gave us a tour and was very welcoming! We had our two children with us ages 8&10 and our tour guide was and to entertain us and keep the kids engaged! Being that this was our 1st time to a winery we never felt intimated or that our questions were off track. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and passionate about her work. She enjoys what she does and her positive attitude is contagious! On top of all that, their wine is delicious! I would highly recommend this winery and if we are ever in the area we will return!

This experience was the highlight of our Niagara weekend. We participated in a charcuterie pairing with Shiven. He was knowledgeable and friendly and even took us on a brief tour. The small charcuterie plate has more than enough samples and the wine we sampled was very good. Small, hands-on winery that should not be missed!

The charcuterie was honestly delicious and all the wines we tried were amazing. A HUGE shoutout to our host Claudia, she was the best and made us feel so welcome and accomodated. My wife and I visited Between The Lines Winery as the 1st stop on our Vintage Wine Tours. We were celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary. Our tasting guide / wine maker was Elaine! She was funny, personable and obviously knew the wines like the back of her hand. She even made a point to quiet another group down when they were making it hard for our group to enjoy the moment. The only downfall is that this was our first stop of the tour and Elaine set a bar for wine guides that was not met by the other vineyards we visited. Oh and the wine? Amazing. Obviously.

On Valentine's day partner and I went to between the line winery it was one of the best winery experiences we had. I believe his name was Gregory (i could be wrong) was so informative and answered all our questions we were able to taste 4 different types of wine and he explained each. I strongly encourage if you can visit this winery to go you wont regret it

Recently attended this winery on a Tour with Niagara Vintage Wineries. At 10am we were met with bright and shiny Elaine who was geared up and ready to give us the best experience we could have imagined! Elaine was extremely knowledgeable about the wine's she gave us to try. From the whites to the reds, she knew exactly what to pair with what, whether it was from a good meal pairing or a good pairing with a bag of chips on a Tuesday night! We had so many amazing laughs, and each taste of wine got better and better, we definitely didn't regret bringing home their specialty canned wine or their exquisite bottles of wine! Booked a guided wine tasting and paring at this place and to say that it far exceeds expectations is putting it mildly. Had a very knowledgeable guide in Yannick, whose parents were the ones who bought the farm. It was a very intimate experience and offered a unique approach to pairing with every day food items (chocolate, fuzzy peaches). And the wine itself was AMAZING. I had to buy 2 4-packs of the wine in a can because it was so good. Highly recommend it.

My party and I loved this winery for our girls weekend!❤️???? We tried 5 beautiful wines and ended up leaving with a total 8 bottles of wine! Their new rose called "Pink" is phenomenal. This is a really charming family-run winery. We had a great time at their blind wine tasting yesterday. They served us wine in black cups, so we couldn’t see what was inside. Stopped by Between the Lines as part of our wine tour - our host Shiven was super chill and easy to get along with. He gave us a brief history of the winery and really did a great job explaining the different wines we were sampling and why they’re unique. I highly recommend trying the Lemberger Reserve and Cabernet Franc if you like reds and their Rose (pink can) if you like whites or rose. The concept of canned wine is brilliant for those who want just one serving of wine.

Our tour guide was a pleasure Aschlian (sincerest apologies for the spelling) taught us so much about the history of wine making and the winery with such a bubble and welcoming atmosphere. The whole experience was like visiting a friend to learn about their passion. Every wine we tasted was immaculate from the Riesen to the Ice Wine. We were driving by and decided to go in. We were lucky that they had the space inside to allow us to do a tasting. Taylor shared so many stories about the history of the winery which made the tasting even better! We were leaving with 6 bottles and she suggested we try one of her favourite, and we left with a full case. Nice wine, great winery and Taylor was amazing! This winery should definitely make it on anyone's itinerary!

Went to visit them based on my brother's recommendation and very glad we did. Sam was helping us at the tasting bar. Turned out they are growing Lemberger grapes which are what Blaufranish (Austria) and Kekfrankos (Hungary) are made from. We loved the wine in Hungary and very pleased to know Between the Lines grows them and is making great wine with them. Sam was very knowledgeable with a wonderful sense of humour. Recommend a visit especially on a Sunday or another day than Saturday when NOTL gets too busy.

We did both tours today, the walking tour with Greg and the decadent tour with Anton. Greg gave us a fun insight into the business of Wine-making and Anton regaled us with stories of his home in France and of his adventures in Canada and Sudbury. Fantastic people, truly a great winery tour!

Went there for a wine tour this past weekend. It was extremely busy so our group was going to do the tasting outside to have more space. There were 4 tables set up and 10 of us on the tour so my friend and I thought we would be able to safely taste wine with our masks off. The guide wanted us to sit at a small square table with other people from the tour that we had just met(definitely not in our social circle). My friend and I said we would just stand at a safe distance as we didn’t feel comfortable being that close to strangers. Since it’s a global pandemic and it’s the law to distance, I was shocked that we were the ones who had to make this decision to be safe and follow the rules. It was as if we were a inconvenience to guide because she didn’t want us to use the other table as another group was coming to join us as well. We were then asked to move our bench away so others could sit at that table. We moved our bench to where we felt safe removing our masks and the group that was joining us ended up leaving so the two other tables sat empty. We were very disappointed that social distancing was not practiced and felt as if we were causing an issue when we were just trying to follow the law and keep ourselves and our families safe. We will not be returning anytime soon during the pandemic. Very disappointed that this is how the winery operates, especially as the numbers are surging in the second wave of covid 19.

Horrible customer service!! My wife and I were at Niagara-on-the-lake a couple of weeks ago for a day trip. Before we left we wanted to get a couple of bottles of their Pinot Noir which we had, bought and loved back in October of 2020. Their website clearly stated that the curbside pick-up was available and I called each of their three phone numbers listed on their site. No one picked up but left a message. We thought they were closed and started to head back to Hamilton. Around 15-min later, we get a call from someone asking if we called and said yes, that we were looking to get a couple of bottles but we are not too far to head back. The fellow said sorry and that and if we wanted we can order a 12-bottle minimum in order to avoid paying for the shipping. I said we don't want 12 bottles and wanted only two and don't want to pay for the shipping. Now at the that time, where was a 20% off promo which made it even more attractive for us to get the two bottles of wine. The fellow says to us, well why don't you use that 20% off promo to get your bottles shipped. Can you believe the gull on this guy?!? Instead of offering to ship the bottles for free for the inconvenience, he wanted us to use the promo code. The interesting part is two of the listed numbers are for you to call when you arrive for pick-up. Imagine sitting there like a dummy waiting for over 15-min on the hopes they will pick-up or call back? Anyway, I was grossed out about their customer service and no matter how good their wine tastes, I will never consume their product again. These are the reviews you get when you lack customer service skills and are lazy.

A family owned winery that crafts some of the best wine we've had in an absolutely humble and unpretentious manner. What more could you ask for? Yes, the grounds are well manicured and the recently expanded tasting room can go blow for blow with the big boys. However, what is distinct about between the lines is the love two brothers bring to the business and wine making process. We sat for a good hour and a half with the winemaker going through inspiration, process, local laws, and a bunch of other random topics. Their wine is spectacular as well - we particularly enjoyed the gewurztraminer and cab franc ice wine.

I visited Between the Lines on Saturday, October 3rd and I’m saddened to see the recent reviews about the lack of COVID protocols because we had an amazing experience and felt totally safe. When we arrived (my husband and I, we didn’t do a tour), we went to the greeter desk, she screened us for symptoms, we were instructed to wear our masks at all times except when at the tasting bar and sanitizer was readily available before we walked in and at the bar. We were kept apart from other guests and able to taste with one of the brothers that own the winery, which was a pleasant surprise! We tried a mix of white and red and went home with the Gevurstraminer, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir Reserve. Overall, we loved it, our guide was amazing and we will definitely be back!

This was my first wine tasting experience and it was honestly the best. The guy giving us the experience was so educated and passionate about his job. He was incredible and made the experience even better. He gave us some sparkling wine, red, Riesling and ice wine. The ice wine was my favourite and we even bought a bottle to take home. We got a charcuterie plate that paired well with the wines and he guided us on which wine to have with a particular cheese. Would definitely recommend coming here.

When she finally returned, she asked her colleague to service us because she was about to conduct a wine tour. Never did she speak to us directly. My partner and I went there for the wine and charcuterie tasting and were helped by Conner. I must say, Conner was amazing! He's not only talking about the wine, but also selling a story, an emotion. Conner was genuine, friendly and a really good salesman. He honestly deserves a raise or at least getting a commission from the wines he sells. The owners of Between the Lines are super kind as well. It's not a huge winery but they have a lovely selection, and a very personable approach to their business. We ended up buying their 2017 Riesling icewine because it was exceptional comparing to the other icewine we tried on that day (from other wineries). I have no doubt that their business will grow and thrive, and I hope they never lose that friendliness approach to their customers. Go there, you won't regret it.

Have been here a few times when bringing friends to the area. It's a great place to bring people, the staff are always charming and friendly, they do a great job making wine approachable. I highly recommend trying the Lemberger as BTL is one of few wineries in Canada with this grape. And don't forget to grab a few cans of their sparkling for the road (trust me you won't regret it)

Went to visit them based on my brother's recommendation and very glad we did. Sam was helping us at the tasting bar. Turned out they are growing Lemberger grapes which are what Blaufranish (Austria) and Kekfrankos (Hungary) are made from. We loved the wine in Hungary and very pleased to know Between the Lines grows them and is making great wine with them. Sam was very knowledgeable with a wonderful sense of humour. Recommend a visit especially on a Sunday or another day than Saturday when NOTL gets too busy.

Visited on Nov 26 for a private tasting. Our guide walked us around outside and shared so much information on why this area in general is such a great and unique place to have a vineyard. Very informative & interesting. Wines were really nice. A few various bottles of red made their way home with us. They also have sparking wine in a can that I liked... maybe that seems odd to some but I thought it was a great idea.

We arrived there without reservation and they've been kind enough to give us a little 15 minutes, and it's been probably the best wine tasting we've ever done! Zaria explained us the story of the vineyard, showed us their amazing between the line bottle and made a pretty nice wine selection according to what we told her we liked. We're young and usually, wineries are not as nice as they are with older people, but this place did treated us real nice!
