Loved the Seafood Chowder and Cesar Salad. The Partridge Berry Tart was great also. Well sized portions. Very friendly staff. Would definetly go back again
Love love love Mifflin Tea Room!!! They have the BEST pan fried cod Ive ever had in my life. Everything is so fresh, it is hard not to leave with a full belly. Their roast beef is so tender, literally falls off your fork. Last year, me and my husband had our breakfast wedding reception at the Mifflin Tea Room (only 15-20 ppl). It was so perfect with all the delish food and cute tea pots and cups. Makes you feel like your at nan's house. The owner is one of the most kind and hospitable people I know. I could go on and on about how great the food is here and how wonderful the people are here. A must try if your in Bonavista!
Pleasant, cozy and very well artifacted. Friendly service. Delicious cod au gratin. Very reasonably priced. Well-deserved high ratings.
Best chowder ever. French onion soup was great. Loved their roast beef too. We had our dinner here on our first day in the Trinity area and then came back the next day because it was so good. In addition to the great food, this place has kind staffs, cozy interior with antique tea set decor, sparkling clean restrooms.
Great food and Service
Very good meals, reasonable prices and friendly service
Best fish soup ever
Great service, great food!
Excellent food and service. Very authentic
The breakfast is fantastic. Very good fresh brewed coffee and homeada sausage patties. Their collection of tea pots is so much fun! We stayed at their Bed and Breakfast too and the price for quality can't be beat.
Wonderful home cooking..delicious..good size portions..friendly staff, very clean and quaint.
Very nice place and great meals
Had lunch here in August after a day trip to cape Bonavista. Nice place very friendly staff, highly recommend.
Excellent spot for breakfast.
Great food and typical cozy grandma home atmosphere
Great
Great Newfoundland food. I had Newfie Sampler and it was great.
Enjoyed the food here
Good food, nice patio, but for a tea room, too many tea bag teas. I did get to try Toutons and baked beans ????
Reservations are required. Their food was plentiful and well-prepared. Their desserts are all home made and very tasty.
Cute lil place.. great food ????
Absolutely beautiful.. food was top shelf
Waited 35 mins for chowder which didn’t show up. Groups that showed up after us ate and paid before we got our soup which we didn’t receive.
Very good cod sandwich!
Unfortunately, I can not comment on the quality of the food and drinks, because we were just not served. We waited at the counter for at least 5 minutes, but we were ignored completely. Nobody did even say "hello" to us. The staff seemed pretty stressed out, but there should be still time for a quick friendly look or just something like "I'll be with you in a few minutes".
Good food and ambiance!!
Fantastic food
Had a great meal with our kids and the service was excellent. We ate outsite because the weather was fantastic!
Quaint little spot with truly delicious food! Thank you for the memories!
We stopped by this tea room twice during our recent stay in Bonavista . The food is excellent and service was amazing,
This restaurant was recommended to us by our BnB host for dinner one night......it was very busy when we got there and even though we didnt have reservations, the staff got us seated and made us feel welcome. Food was unbelievable (all homemade) and the ladies working there were outstanding.....one of the ladies was kind enough to give me a souvenir I had my eye on, even though it wasnt for sale...."you didnt get it here" wink wink????????. Loved this place and would definitely return.
Recently came here for supper. Cute little restaurant perfectly located downtown. Staff member was very friendly and welcoming. Very good service! We ordered a chicken parmesian and a chowder. Chowder was one of the best I ever had. Chicken Parm was a bit dull, was luke warm and tasted it was cooked in a microwace (even tho it more than likely wasnt) pasta were great. Dessert was awesome!! Bang on!! Since this place is known to be a Tea Room, we ordered a tea for a warm drink (thinking it would be something special). Tea was only a David's Tea which is sold anywheres.
Great food, friendly service!
Delicious food and friendly atmosphere!
Great spot, great food featuring traditional local fare. Friendly staff.
Cute interior and great desserts!
Very cute place with nice service and large portions. Food was tasty and reasonably priced with good traditional Newfoundland options. A great little place with adorable decor to get a quick lunch.
Went here multiple times back in early August, the food was very good, a good price, and they served most (if not all) of their menu any time of the time they were open. Sometimes the food took awhile, but never was it a jawdropping amount of time. Very good!
Cosy atmosphere.friendly staff.good food .
Very cozy and relaxing. Amazing story comes with the restaurant. Friendly servers makes this place special.
Had an awesome mac and cheese here. The service was quick and polite. Would highly recommend.
Great place, very cozy and homey. Lovely staff and they accommodated my vegetarian wife very well. Great service. You won't be disappointed!!
Quaint little restaurant with great food and good prices! We will definitely be back!
Lots of beef in the beef vegetable soup, fish cake was really good. Great lunch place
This was. litterally. THE most authentic and cozy Newfoundland experience one can get. Delicious food, fresh and very reasonably priced. The chowder is a must. 10/10 would go again.
Great chowder and friendly service!
Great meal, great service. Love their Roasted Red Pepper Soup.
The website doesn't mention their seasonal hours so call ahead before making the long drive :(
Lovely place. Heartwarming and the food is delicious!!
Great food that will fill you up.
Incredible cod chowder, a complete and very tasty meal in one delicious bowl. It's amazing when you think about it that several generations of the same family have kept the restaurant running successfully for such a long period of time.
The food here was wonderful, the people very friendly. I highly recommend this place for anyone travelling to Bonavista!
We stumbled upon this place on a Sunday morning looking for something light. The menu and seeing what others were having convinced us to try something more hearty. We were not disappointed.
Beans and toutons were excellent!
Charming restaurant ... great food ... superb service ... highly recommend ... desserts look amazing!!! Dont let the name fool you ... has a very extensive menu ... seafood, soups, salads, pasta, roast beef, all day breakfast etc etc etc OMG the chowder is so DELICIOUS ...more like fish stew ... so thick with fish and seafood; I should have had a cup not a bowl of chowder ... so filling. No room for dessert :(
Just as with another of our reviews for the area, we really love Mifflin's Tea Room and always make a point of stopping in at least once or twice for a meal whenever we visit Bonavista. Mifflin's fishe-and-brewis runs a very close second (Sorry, Mifflin's ????) to that at Nanny's Root Cellar Kitchin over at Elliston. On the other hand, no one will touch Mifflin's deserts! People even reserve a slice of the peanut butter cheese cake, so I missed out on that on the first of our three visits on our most recent trip to some guy who had asked for the last piece to be set aside for the jigg's dinner that he would have later that day. The fish cakes are also beautifully done, and the tea(s) are lovely.
Beautiful place
(Translated) Homemade food and fresh dessert of the day! This place has a soul, it's a family story. Very friendly service and good atmosphere. Like at home. (Original) Bouffe maison et dessert frais du jour! Cette place a une âme, c'est une histoire de famille. Service très amical et bonne ambiance. Comme à la maison.
The fish and soup was delicious, but some of the other dishes or sides were only pretty good. Large portion of pan-fried cod. The food took quite a while but not too bad.
(Translated) We loved this little place. Everything was good and homemade. To discover. (Original) Nous avons adoré ce petit endroit. Tout était bon et fait maison. À découvrir.
Stopped in for breakfast early on a Sunday morning. Friendly staff, beautiful cafe, and the food is delicious! Would definitely recommend the Newfie Sampler, just like nan used to make. Will come back again to enjoy the rest of the menu!
Great homemade desserts. Tea like it is meant to be served.
Fantastic food and service , top marks for the Pea Soup and Partridgeberry pie
Well worth the winter wait once again. Delicious !
Beautiful atmosphere
This place is magical. The food is exquisite. I tried the mussels, pea soup, the toutons, and fish cakes... All recommended.
Enjoyed a delicious brunch on the patio at this super cute spot! Best part is that all the food is home made. Highly recommend! Tip: try the seafood chowder and the carrot cake!
Fish cakes were very tasty...
I enjoy Mifflin's Tea Room. My favorite meal is the chicken salad croissant. They have a large assortment of teas. Very nice environment. Would recommend reservations if you are looking to go with a crowd as the tables fill up quickly.
Visited here on our trip to Bonavista and it was an all around good meal. The fish cakes were perfectly seasoned and the atmosphere was just right.
Quaint little restaurant with delicious breakfast and friendly staff. Great fishcakes and toutons!
We went here for breakfast and sat on the deck. Great atmosphere and it was a sunny day which was a bonus! Service was very good as was the food! Hot and tasty! Will go back next time we are in town!!
great local dinner place. wow they are busy but make up for it with hospitality and food. i dont know if it was just the night but my only comment would be to open up the windows a bit as it was stifling hot in there. fantastic food though.
Quaint cafe with limited seating so make reservations to avoid disappointment. Food is absolutely incredible.
True Newfoundland friendliness. The owner was very pleasant, and chatty. Staff were great, and the food didn't last long enough to take a picture of.
Wonderful place to eat on a chilly day in Bonavista. I ordered the seafood chowder, which was perfect, and shared a pot of tea with my youngest son. Highly recommend!
Came here for lunch and breakfast and the food is delicious, hearty and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the pea soup and chowder a lot. They are only open from June to September really to serve the tourists. Don't be deceived by its name being a tea room though. They only serve David's Tea!
Great food. Really good Desserts! Super friendly staff. Very traditional experience.
Right in the heart of Bonavista, this is a great place for breakfast, lunch or supper while exploring the town. Delicious food, accommodating service, generous portions. A wide selection of tea is served in tea pots. The coffee is also good. There are outside tables on the patio for extra social distancing.
Big mistake to order roast beef. It was traditional grey / shoe leather and staff thought that ok. Yorkshire pudding not made the right way. Chowder was decent don’t go off grid here .
Had the breakfast sandwich and it was awesome, ate it before remembering to take a photo ;) Wife had the toutons and they were great as well. Lots of traditional Newfoundland options and a large tea menu.
This place is an absolute fantastic find. The pan fried cod served with pork scrunchions was done to perfection and served with traditional vegetables cooked just right. The serving staff are so friendly that they make the experience special. Make sure to visit and enjoy the experienice of great Nwe found land hospitality.
Had an enjoyable dinner.
A very cute place with really good menu and very friendly staff. The atmosphere is just amazing and good is really tasty. Terri sent off the local red wines of you like sweet fruity wine. Prices are very good as well. Would definitely come again when I'm in town next time
Awesome food, great service, beautiful deck.
Expectations exceeded! Desserts are a must!
Cozy quaint and delicious food!
Best fish chowder ever! They take traditional Newfoundland dishes upscale. Brewis like no other and lovely light toutons lightly fried to crispy but light and fluffy inside. Worth coming to Bonavista just for Mifflin’s.
Waited a long time after ordering and watched tables be seated and eat while we still waited. Ended up paying for a our drinks and leaving before we got our food. Very disappointed as this one of the places we had been anticipating eating at during our trip.
The desserts is all I have to say to die for best place in small twin
Wonderful place the food was amazing & Friendly staff! It's a must go to place for anyone going to bonavista! Definitely will be telling everyone about it! 5 stars all the way!
Wonderful home cooked meals. Chowder was great. Large portions.
Very cute place. Service was quick and the food delicious!
Great breakfast here, really good food and service
Don’t come if you need prompt service - be prepared to spend most of your morning waiting!
Fish cakes were awesomeness and so was my wine
One of my favorite restaurants on our visit to Bonavista. Great selection of local fare and the prices were Competative
We stopped here after visiting the lighthouse. The place was super cute with a very friendly hard worker waitress. I loved having tea out of the real China teacups my mother and sister had cake they said was good I had gluten free pancakes which were very nice. Highly recommend
We had a fantastic breakfast here, but I suggest making a reservation. They sometimes close for tour bus bookings. Everything homemade from scratch. Super service!
Beautiful location. Great tea!
We were at Mifflins a few times during our visit. The staff are amazing. They certainly added to our overall experience! The food was also top notch! Try their great deserts and specialty coffee to finish a great evening! Hats off to Pauline Daisy Lori and Anita!
Fantastic chowder. We thought it was a little pricey but after we brought it home and saw how much crab was in it we were hooked!
The breakfast was delightful. Toutons were flight and fluffy yet had a nice crisp exterior. The baked beans were nice as well. We heard people in the restaurant talking about how fantastic their Jiggs Dinner was and they were taking reservations for it that afternoon. Lots of interesting antique decor as well. Also took tea buns to go that were great as well (we ate them on our drive back to St John's.) Will definitely go back next time we're in Bonavista.
We were there for the 1st time to have our lunch. It turned out to be delicious & good, nice & cozy little house with history. The cakes section is even better with tea. We went back the following morning for our breakfast, it was fabulous with reasonable price. We even ordered packed lunch for our hiking. Within the same day, we drove back from Trinity to here to have dinner & finishing with cakes & tea. It is really good place to have good food with reasonable price & with nice people.
Served me moldy bread last year, but they were super apologetic, replaced my sandwich and service was good.
Such a cute place and very good food and great service. No deep fried food all homemade.
Excellent and authentic Newfoundland food !
Food was awesome. Can't wait to visit Bonavista for a meal when they reopen for the season.
Fantastic food!! Bacon wrapped scallops were juicy and flavourful, fish cakes were incredibly light, fluffy and delicious, and the lemon meringue pie is marvellous! Staff was incredibly kind, and super helpful when we asked for tourist recommendations and directions. I’d 1000% recommend Mifflin’s Tea Room to anyone, we made a breakfast reservation for the next morning before we even finished our supper!
Excellent ,excellent, excellent
Really good breakfast
Ok
A great place Great food and service
Newfie sampler platter was as good as Nan's!
We asked the locals for a place of non fried food and were told to go to Mifflin's Excellent food and reasonably priced. Daisy is charming and warm.
Awesome Seafood Chowder! I later discovered the owner was watching my face light up with joy as I relished each bite!!
I'm giving only 2 stars due to the lack of service and the bland and soggy food. It took nearly 15 minutes just to get a glass of water. When the food finally arrived the pasta was very bland I had to add salt and pepper just to even make it okay. The salad was so soggy it was not edible. No one came to check durning our meals, we tried to get the attention of one of the waiters and where unsuccessful. Finally when they checked 25 minutes later we where just ready to leave at this point. As well we were shocked the the bread wasn't even homemade nor the garlic bread for the pasta it was frozen Texas toast you buy at the grocery store to heat u.
Lots of history in this building, and it's kept in the family. We had a lovely meal, and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. And of course the tea and cheese cake is wonderful. Make a reservation, because it's a popular place.
Best seafood chowder! Enjoyed this cute place :) Recommended to us by the visitor information center
Great !
Lovely early evening dinner on the quaint patio. Definitely recommend.
Sweet little gem tucked away on the main drag. Tasty food, and amazing desserts. Great service, recommend reserving a spot, it filled up quite quick.
I had the seafood chowder and the newfie platter. Top notch. Highly recommended and a very picturesque town.
Delicious food...Friendly service...Highly recommend this restaurant!
Stopped for a quick lunch. Staff was friendly and the food was amazing. Must stop
Cozy little restaurant with wonderful homemade food. You won’t leave hungry! He wanted to eat here a second time during our stay in Bonavista, however they were already booked! Will definitely be returning when in the area again
quite enjoyable, and friendly and efficient staff...

Good tea and food
Awesome meal, fantastic service
Wonderful meal, friendly staff.
Food was out of this world. Service was second to none. Prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend eating there. I know I will
The food is awesome. Try the toutons. Clean cute little place. I would drive across the country for more
Awesome!
Authentic local food, very tasty. The “Newfie Sampler” for $18 gives excellent quality fish and brewis, with fish cake, baked beans, fried bologna, and a thick fluffy touton. Impressive selection of herbal and rooibos teas. The deserts are rich and decadent! Nice outdoor and indoor settings for dining. Friendly service. Overall rating on Google Maps currently 4.8 which is a fair score.
One of several great dining spots in Bonavista area. Enjoy eating outside during summer and sunsets.
I have tried seafood chowder many times in many places. This bowl of goodness at Mifflin's has been the best. I considered ordering a second bowl but I will just have to go back instead. Bravo!

Cute little place.
Very quiant

Seafood chowder was very good! Kind service and very cozy atmosphere.
We made a 3 hour drive from out hotel in St. Johns all the way to Bonavista. We stopped at a few places along the way, and of course checked out the lighthouse and Dungeon Park, but even if we hadn't, Mifflin's would have made it worth it! The restaurant and building itself is so inviting and cozy, and the patio where we sat under the apple tree was lovely. The ladies serving us were kind and attentive, and made us feel relaxed and at-home. The food was superb, some of the best I've had, and I would definitely say the number one place to get Newfoundland's iconic dishes, the Jiggs dinner was the best I've had, be sure to get it with roast beef and gravy! And the fishcakes were also a treat, but honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My only complaint is that my stomach wasn't bigger!! Unfortunately, I forgot to pick up a slice of homemade pie, and a hand-knit toque. I'll have to be back!
