Wine slushies are best in the area. Staff is also really good. Been year every year for the last year. It’s a must stop on any wine tour.
Awesome! Jenna was super! Case sale 25% off-2016 Cab/Merlot ????????????????????
Visiting from Winnipeg, MB meeting up with old friends from Regina, SK at the end of July. The customer service is something to acknowledge here. It's not often that you walk into a place not knowing how to proceed the staff just stepped right up and made our experience quick easy and fun. Exactly what we wanted. We did not come as part of a tasting but just dropped in as we drove by and ended up staying 2 hours, sitting on the porch drinking wine and enjoying the meat& cheese boards they offered. Awesome experience, gorgeous place. Only downside is that I purchased a bottle of their extra dry rosé (I'm not a fan of rosé because it's usually too sweet for my taste) but was excited at the though of extra dry (YUM) only to leave it behind at our air bnb in London, but that is my fault not pondviews ????????
My favorite winery in the Niagara region, always amazing wine and great staff.
I visited Pondview on Friday August 20, with my husband, mother in law, and father in law. Our booked time was from 3:30pm to 4:30pm and included a charcuterie board. Upon arriving we were greeted by the concierge and he told us we could go back and someone would seat us. We walked back to the patio area that was very nicely set up, and we waited. We waited for about 5 minutes and no one came over. We approached the bar and said we had a reservation to the 2 gentlemen who were in deep conversation behind the bar and they told us to grab a seat wherever and someone would be with us shortly. We sat at a table with 4 very comfy adirondack chairs under the tent. We waited, and waited, and waited. Finally at 4pm just when I was about to go back to the bar and interrupt that oh so interesting conversation, a young girl came around ready to get our first selection. She explained she was new and while her wine knowledge was limited she told us she enjoyed the wine. My husband and I both work in the industry and the wine knowledge is not that important to us as we already know it. She was extremely pleasant and upbeat and we enjoyed her explanations of the wine and her general attitude. She brought us our charcuterie and our first tasting. By this point it is nearly quarter after 4 and we have 15 minutes to be at our next stop. As I looked around, there was at least 8 tables being served and she was the only one serving. The 2 gentlemen behind the bar were still in deep convo and apparently completely unaware that this girl is running around like a maniac trying to get everyone served. At one point the owner or the winemaker was there chatting up a table of ladies for quite some time. But still, no help for our server. We ended up skipping our third tasting that was included in our selection because we simply ran out of time. My booking was for 4 tastings and a charcuterie board and I paid $154.24 for that, but we didn't even get our last tasting. Such a waste of money. We ended being a little late to our next tasting and we were unable to purchase wine at Pondview because of this. Unfortunately, I really enjoyed their cabernet franc rose, I would have liked to purchase a few bottles. The entire experience was a frustrating and disappointing one to say the least. We book times as that is what is required. All of the wineries we visited that day were booked in advance, this was the only one that fell short on time. It is not the girls fault, I felt she did the best with what she had. The 2 gentlemen behind the bar laughing and carrying on in conversation seem like a waste of time and money in my opinion. It was very obvious to everyone there that this poor girl was floundering trying to keep up....well maybe not everyone, the 2 gentlemen behind the bar seemed oblivious. I would not recommend the winery if you are looking for a good customer experience. There are lots of independently owned wineries such as this one, that will give you a better experience for the exorbitant amount of money they charge for their tastings.
Good selection of more than just wine, a good afternoon destination and a winery that should get more attention.
This was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a winery! The staff was very knowledgeable about their wines and the story behind the winery. The wine is to die for, everything I tasted was outstanding and unforgettable. The 2017 Bella Terra Fumé Blanc was so delicious, I know I will be dreaming about that wine. The tastings are a fair price and you can try some outstanding wines, you even get your own glass to keep! The staff were so kind and their customer service skills were stupendous. Pondview Estate Winery has enter my top list of wineries, I will be returning very soon! I will be recommending this winery to everyone I know!
Curbside pickup for the Cabernet Merlot, both 2016 (excellent) and 2018 (very good) is easy. Just call and your order is ready!
Awesome winery to visit on your tours. We did a wine tasting paired with some delicious cheese and topped it off with a chocolate ice wine shooter. Friendly knowledgeable staff.
Very nice wine, friendly service
My hostess Danielle was very knowledgeable and gave me great service. Bought a bottle of 2014 Bella Terra Appassamento. Awesome!
This place is amazing and has awesome guest service with great membership experiences as well. There are several over-sized Adirondack/Muskoka chairs with a view of the property and pond as well as an oversized tents for some proper physically distanced events. They know you by name, have a great portfolio of wines and surprises to choose from like ice wine martinis and slushies for the more adventurous during the summer months. You may notice a similarity to some of the wines from Di Profio Estates winery as well due to the wine maker Fred I believe, spending time between both to ensure that he's busy. Great value from your wine club memberships here too. Try to Fume Blanc and of course their Appossameto (sp?) wine offerings as we found them to be the highlights from their Bella Terra line. Also, lots of other great value wines to be had by the case to make sure you're all set up for the holiday season. Love this place. Glad some members showed it to us.
We wish we had a full day here. The whole team was so welcoming, engaging, and every customer at the winery was smiling and happy! Wonderful experience all around. Stan was a wonderful host, we thought he was the owner with the amount of pride he exuded during our tasting! We will definitely be going back and recommending a visit to others.
Great service and great wines. Enjoyed the charcuterie platter. A wonderful stop on Niagara on the Lake winery hop.
Great experience and awsome staff. Thinking of having this wine for are wedding even.
What a delightful visit to this winery. Definitely recommended and it’s open for Tasting all year. Will definitely visit again this winter
I recently planned a small bike tour and decided to stop at Pond View. It was one of the wineries we seem to always miss during our 9 years of doing our own Niagara bike tour. When we arrived, we were embraced with negativity? They immediately told us that 2 bus tours were coming in 30 minutes and you can not be served! We asked for one tasting so we can say we tried their wine and she said NO! I asked if we could purchase a bottle and sit at the table and try the wine. She said NO! WE asked if they could give a sampling for 2 people so they could try the wine and at least let us know how it tasted, she said NO! The management at this place is very bad. The management could of easily did something very minimal to put a smile on our faces. I would not go back, and I highly recommend that you do not go here until their management gets the proper educate, social skills and sales management training!
Excellent winery, where they treat you like family.
"No appointment necessary"... kicked us out and was extremely rude because we came in with 14 people. Cassy was the ladies name and i do not reccomend this place at all. Rolled her eyes after we suggested we come in as pairs of 2. Terrible service.
This winery is hit and miss. There is always something to like, but it's never the same twice!
Impressed with the knowledgeable, friendly and enjoyable server (Christie ? - please correct me if I am incorrect). Given a lot advice, which made the choosing as much fun as the tasting. My only suggestion would be to work on the presentation of the charcuterie. Apparently it is normally beautifully presented on a wooden platter. I understood the logic behind the cardboard box, and it made a terrific "doggie bag", but was messy and inelegant.
Most knowledgeable staff ever. Did the tasting by the pond in the Muskoka chairs. Danielle took really good care of us. Highly recommend great wines
Juan Is an excellent sommelier, he was very helpful in the explanation regarding the grapes and wine's we tasted, amazing wine. We will be coming back again, thanks Juan for your kindness.
Great experience. We had an expert sommelier (Juan) walk us through the tasting notes of each wine while we sat under the tent. They provided glasses we were allowed to keep afterwards. Staff were friendly, and it was refreshing to see such a great range of very dry vintages. Will absolutely come back.
(Translated) Nice experience! Try chocolate shooters with ice wine! It's unbelievably good! (Original) Belle expérience! Essayez les shooters en chocolat avec du vin de glace! C'est incroyablement bon!
Good wine; friendly hosts. They also do charcuterie.
A very professional, educational and intimate wine tour. The food pairing was an added bonus. We loved everything about this tour and the winery. So nice to see such pride in a company.
Nice relaxing place with nice view and people very nice , sparkeling wine was amazing
Great start, good wine, great place to hang
This winery was amazing! We had a great sommelier named Juan. He was able to answer all our questions in great details and made our visit here very fun and informative! The wine is delicious and you are able to do tasting outside (right now during covid) beside their pond. Wonderful time!!
Had a great tasting. Sitting at the pond and enjoying the sunshine. The wine was good and the tasting done by the staff was a very good experience.
Their Harmony Red and White never disappoint. It seems as though the White has gotten a bit sweeter in recent years, but their Red is always on point. You can also order wine by the glass and enjoy it on their porch with a charchuterie platter. Perfect for a lovely summer day.
Days of Wine & Chocolate visit. Amazing. The best cocoa rubbed ribs and a glorious Cab-Sauv pairing. A lovely place. Great staff. Catherine was knowledgeable and personable. We're planning our return visit already.
Updated: back two years later, better than before, Cathy was great, experience was awesome. Looking forward to coming back in a couple years as they nature, good experience
Visited this nice winery on Aug 18, 2018. Joel warmly greeted us the moment we stepped in, he made us feel very comfortable with his friendliness. We tried the wine and cheese tasting which was very good. When we went back to get 2 more bottles of wine, Maddie helped us and we were very happy with her service too. Strongly recommend this winery to anyone visiting the area. Great wine, knowledgeable and friendly staff... Keep up the great service, will definitely visit again the next time we are in Niagara! GOD bless...
*** UPDATE *** if I could give zero stars I would. Unfortunate as most of the staff is incredibly pleasant and nice. Today there was one server at the bar that was very rude, not sure if she hated her job or her life. We received complimentary tasting passes because the Taste The Season lineup was very long, which was great customer service. Unfortunately it all fell down when we got to the bar. The only server without a name tag that served us could have done us a favour and not showed up for work today.***
Great wine great service definitely the place to visit in niagara don't miss it -make sure you ask for zack to do your tastings!
Good wine, definitely worth the price. Staff was helpful in helping us find something we liked as well.
Great place. Enjoyed all the wines and the service was excellent. Stanley made us laugh he was a great host
Throughly enjoyed the wine and cheese tasting with Joel. Funny and insightful guide who took good care of us. Recommend trying the Carbenet Franc
The Lot 74 white wine is absolutely superb. Visited last summer and picked up 3 cases yesterday for our wedding, it was ready for us and taken to the car for us by a girl who provided excellent service. The most underrated winery in NOTL and I will continue to drink wine from them! Well worth a visit.
Had a wine tasting here hosted by Joel. Very charismatic, funny, friendly, knowledgeable host. :)
While the retail shop is preparing to open, they are busy with contactless curbside pickup.
We were fortunate to visit the winery today. It was a beautiful setting under the tent with a warm breeze and blue sky..The customer service was excellent, we are grateful for the extra attention shown to us by Gord. We wanted to spend the afternoon there! Already planning to come back…
My visit to Pondview was great. Try going off season and you will have lots of fun.
Nice small winery, but VERY conservative on their tasting pours. They might as well have brought out a measuring cup to make sure no one was served over 1oz of each wine. Other than that, good wine and nice setting... but if you want people to purchase your product, they will need a little more than a sip...
Amazing cab sav 2014
One of the best wineries in Niagara.
Famous for their wine slushies and ice wine shots in chocolate shots. Lots of fun. Staff was nice and friendly. Place was packed when we were there with lots of groups.
Worth the trip just to have a tasting with Jenna (who deserves a raise!)
The rose wasn't bad but the charcutterie plate made up for it! I will be back!
We had a very relaxing wine tasting in their vineyard facing the pond. Nice stories behind how they named each wine. Unfortunately we couldn’t meet Fred (the turtle). If you are looking for an outdoor and relaxing wine tasting, you should definitely try this.
Not worth at all. We have the classic tasting and zach was our server. He seemed very uninterested and simply poured the drinks and walked away. Poured wine on top of of water in my drink and casually asked if that was okay. Not worth it at all as we didn’t feel welcomed!
Beautiful winery. Can't wait to return!
Quite nice place . Hospitality is amazing and a great selection of wines. Beautiful. Personality I didn't like their white wines, too dry for myself but will definitely go back again for their reds! .
Amazing, personal, experience. Shauna was a great host. We had the wine and food pairings, which was fantastic. Blue cheese and ice wine!?! Who knew, but we will have it again!
This was the best winery we were at all day! Tina was especially lovely and knowledgeable - she toasted our honeymoon with us with bubbles and served us a variety of delicious wines. We'll never forget it!
I am so pleased with this local winery and my recent purchase. Above and beyond customer service. Support local business.
We went on a tour of a few wineries and this one was my favourite, mostly because of the people! We got to sample some, and the young lady who was guiding us through our samples was so awesome and knowledgable, despite the fact that it was her first day!
Loved it! We had a great tasting in the rain under the tent. Wines were great and staff are knowledgeable and entertaining.
Amazing experience! Sharon and Emily were great. Highly recommend this winery! Can’t wait to go back.
Horrible experience!! I don’t usually write reviews but the lady (Casey) working was very rude. She refused to serve us because we walked in with more then four people. We even offered to just do four tastings and she refused, as we see her serve four people that walked in. Will not return!
Wonderful experience. Knowledgable staff. A must to see on your next visit to the Niagara wine vineyards
Our wine rep was Emily And her passion was infectious. Great wine, specifically Cabernet/Merlot Xd was our favorite. Stefanie was extremely friendly on cash! Great experience!
We visited as part of a tour and it was the most memorable of the four wineries. They have excellent ice wine and sparkling wine. I would definitely recommend doing on of their ice wine shooters!
There customer service is very bad and I do not recommend this place.
My husband and I had an amazing time here. The Muskoka chair experience was a fantastic value for our money. We really enjoyed the quiet of the pond setting, the expertise of the sommelier, and the delicious charcuterie. Highly recommend!!
We stopped here just because - it wasn't on our original self guided bike tour. WE loved it - the lady who helped us was fairly new and so gracious. I wish I could remember her name . The Appassimento was by far our favourite wine. It was just so smooth. This was the only place we sat down and ordered and actual glass of wine and we purchased a lovely little platter of cheese to go with it. Lovely store front and great little seating area with a gorgeous bar. Highly recommend making this one of your stops on the tour! Cheers~
Great ice wine and cheese cake tastings.
Great winery with friendly people. Try the hot chocolate with ice wine!
Best Wine slushy in the region
Very good winery tour. Great experience.
It was a great experience! Totally recommend the food and wine pairing!
Beautiful place. Nice scenery. Great tour guide good selection of wine on the tour and good pricing.
Lovely wine tasting, no food pairing in mine tho. Great reds! Cute patio with snacks, tour wasn't there long enough to eat.
Nice place, staff very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The Wine is good too :)
my wife an a friend went to pondview after seeing it on chch tv hamilton a wonderful time very personal I recommended it
Enjoyed the winery. Picked up some icewine after being at the Niagara Icewine Festival
After visiting many wineries in the region it was the first time at Pondview. We sat on the Muskoka chairs by the Pond for some wine tasting. Gord was a great host and truly enjoyed the wine.
Unbelievable customer service. Bailey was outstanding and provided a wonderful experience for us this weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting, cheese pairings, site tour, chocolate ice wine shooters, and the wine slushies! We will definitely be back in the future and highly recommend this winery for a nice afternoon on the patio.
Nice afternoon at the Pondview winery!!
Safe outside tasting, lots of space, on Sunday at least, it wasn't busy
Just went there for my bachelorette on Saturday. Had a rocking time. Shayna you are awesome! You were perfecr for our group. Love the rose wine !
Nice ice wine
Delicious wines. Friendly helpful staff!
Really enjoyed our experience with Joel at Pondview. Such a friendly team and everyone was welcoming and delighted to assist us. They have a great selection of wines with lots of varieties including some unique offerings. You'll find sparkling, red, whites, and icewines. Good range of easy-drinking quaffers to big, bold reds including an appassimento-style red. Centrally located with charcuterie and patio in the summer. Highly recommend!
My husband and I went to pick up a charcuterie and a couple different wines, and ended up staying for wine tasting out back with Gord. He was down to earth and we thoroughly enjoyed the wine and the conversation. The whole experience was positive!
Great pairing for Days of Wine and Chocolate. The spare ribs were very good. And we bought a case of the wine.
Pondview is an average winery, among a growing field. The wines are good, but not exceptional. We had a carrachuri plate of local cheese and cold cuts to go with the tasting, and it was good. It is a medium size winery, not located on the main roads. The major wineries are always busy, if you want a more laid back experience then visit this winery.
An awesome experience and all the credit goes to our tour guide. My bad that I forgot her name. She was so patient in explaining us all the details and answering any questions we had.
Staff were friendly and nice. They were helpful and polite. The wine is typical for the Niagara region. They had some good selection. Their wine slushies - the daquari - was literally one of the best I've ever tried in this region. If there's a better one I'd love a suggestion but I promise you it'll be hard to fine. Their charcuterie board wasn't that great. With so many restaurants doing these boards it's difficult to stand out as amazing. I would definitely go back for the wine slushies. I plan to.
A very enjoyable stop to finish our our day with a fantastic cheese platter to complement our wine on the outdoor patio. Very tasty ans relaxing too! A must stop for those in the area.
Gord was great! Wonderful time!
My Husband and I had a wonderful time at Pondview Winery. We highly recommend a visit. The staff especially Brent and Juan were knowledgable and friendly. They went over and above to make us feel welcome. The wine and cheese was excellent! and we look forward to visiting again soon.
Some very nice wines.
It was great
We absolutely love Stan the wine tasting guy!!! Out of so many winery in Niagara Falls, this is the best winery with the best service!! I love the pond and all the muskoka chairs, we went around 4 pm and we got to enjoy the sunset, this is perfection!!!
It’s nice there. They have great wines and cheese. Unfortunately, almost no real info about the wines itself, just tasting and cheese with it. Could be a bit better, but all in all good experience with the staff! The cheese was fabulous by the way
Good wines and friendly staff. I liked their reds much more than their whites. The menu options for food pairings are a great idea. I loved that they had an 'arepa' food truck to give it a twist on the regular wine-food offering. We couldn't find a table to sit outside so come early.
Fantastic. Great service. Learned more. Great wines
Amazing service and beautiful hotel
Awesome chocolate shooters
Pondview has great wines. Its one of my favourite wineries in the Niagara wine region. Big reds, many of them only done in the best years, as well as one of the creaminess chards anywhere in the area.
Pond View Estates Winery I love it, staff very freindly and the sample wine tasting was outstanding and fun the. Ice wine vidal oh soooo good and sweet I love it. Hopefully we can order soon in the USA I tour Canada in June 2018 had a wonderful time I scratch 6 things off my bucked list and pond view was one of them! Just open my vidal ice wine for our 32nd Anniversary August 9th and the wine sooooo good I would give this rating 10 stars if I could.
Christine was amazing ????????????????
(Translated) Very good ice wine, attractive sales premises and friendly salesmen. (Original) Sehr guter Eiswein, ansprechende Verkaufsräumlichkeiten und freundliche Verkäufer.
Great afternoon today. Christie was amazing. We can't wait to come back.
Excellent service
Gord was an incredible host! Very knowledgeable and helped recommend the best wines for out palette. Perhaps our new favorite winery! Thanks Gord!
Amazing wines, excellent staff and awesome wine club options. Sitting by the pond tasting wine here is the best way to spend an afternoon.
Cute winery in the heart of NOTL. Was recommended to go there from Small Talk (which is one of our favourites). Had an excellent tasting and they have a solid range of whites and reds. Also a winery with a bit of a sense of humour (see photo)
Really great experience! The wine and cheese was delicious!! Stan was awesome too!
We were wined out by the time we got here. However, I tried the wine slushy which was great along with the cheese platter. My wife and I finished it off with the Icewine chocolate shot that was enjoyable. Honestly the service was the best part. We didn't plan on stopping here before our weekend but I'm glad we did. They had a video that documented harvesting Icewine.
We just opened the first bottle of Bella Terra from a case that we bought 2 years ago. We had lunch with the Lou and his planting friend on the front terrace and loved the wine so bought a case. It has been in our cellar since then and this is the first sip. Wow! It is lovely. Heavy bodied and richly flavoured. Lovely bouquet and deep dark colour Just the way we like it. I offered to have Lou come out to BC for a fishing trip but he has not taken me up on this yet. Hope he will soon. This wine likes to have a year or two to really fulfill its bold power. If you get some, try putting it away then enjoy a lovely bottle of wine. cheers Rick
Thank you to the awesome hosts at PondView Estate Winery with their wonderful friendly service and knowledgeable information on wines! We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting, paired well with the delicious charcuterie board! A great staycation getaway in beautiful Niagara!
We had an awesome time here, the staff really made our visit very memorable!
We visited the winery during our Niagara tour. They offered not only great wines (not available at LCBO) but also a very fun & generous tasting session by Keith.
This is my favourite winery to visit and share with friends both local and from out of town. The charcuterie board is amazing and "almost" too much for two people lol. I enjoy chatting with the staff who always have great suggestions for pairing with foods or just "sipping" wines! Thanks for all the good times and great wines! Good luck with these awful days we are living in right now....it will get better!
We visited on Saturday with friends. We didn't have a reservation so they made the price higher per person. Then we overheard the manager telling our wine tasting girl to "follow us to make sure we pay" We were shocked. We are not those people, nor did we look like those type of people. The wine was the worst of any of them we tried that day and the service was the worst I have seen anywhere in a long time.
Awesome as always. Our Wheelz Niagara guests love this place.
Been to vineyards all over the world..deff ranks in top 3..gord was awesome!!highly recomend!!
The star of our NOTL show today. Shout out to Gord who made our visit extra special. Nice relaxing tasting on muskoka's by the pond. Highly recommended for the hospitality alone.
Gord and Co. once again entertained us with their excellent charcuterie and wines. Juan walked us through the new and ongoing wines.
Extremely bad customer service. 20+ open tables and they deny service. Disgrace and I’ll never be back.
Really expensive wines with a very high waiver fee. Even though I was a dollar or two behind the waiver limit, she still charged me for the tasting. In addition, the wines were pretty weak in flavour. Was more like flavored water.
Great tastings and friendly staff. Good place to stop while wine touring
Great wines, great service....great ice slushies
Lovely charcuterie board and even better wine.
Great wines, grounds and staff. We tasted wines under Stan and Christi’s friendly and knowledgeable guidance then sat by the pond in Muskoka chairs to savour a final glass. Well worth a visit with wine to suit all tastes and budgets.
Fun experience!!! Dave was incredible. Wine slushies are a must try. DELICIOUS.
Nice people, great wine
If you are visiting Niagara-on-the-lake, then Pondview is a must-stop destination. Very well staffed, organised and managed. Some of the best charcuterie/wine pairing I have ever had! I now make a point to visit every time I am in the area. It's quickly becoming one of the most popular wineries for a reason. Thanks for your hospitality!
Pondview is the winery to visit! The environment, staff and amazing wine was the perfect combination for a great and memorable time. Gord was incredibly knowledgeable and personable, he made the experience even better. We will certainly be back!
Great people. great wine . After having just been terribly ignored by Caroline wineries this winery treated us well. Actually all the wineries did except for Caroline wineries. The 2016 Merlot was awesome. Jenna is awesome! Purchased a lot and will be purchasing more in the future .
Delicious Cabernet and super friendly staff!
Loved the wine slushie. Did the wine and cheese pairing with grape escape wine tours and it was delicious. Our favourite stop out of all the wineries. The tour guide was excellent too. We purchased the skipping stone white wine. They also sell the cheeses the let you sample, the Gouda was delicious. Highly recommend a visit to this place.
