Here you will see the opinions of real people who purchased the services and products of Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery (Winery) in Beloeil (Canada).
At the moment this business receives a score of 4.7 stars out of 5 and this score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is basically the best, and it is based on a high number of reviews, so we may say that the assessment is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to leave their review when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to set tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

The sun was shining bright today, so the family and I decided to do a nice little hike at Decew Falls in St Cathrines. There aren't many more days like this in Ontario! Bet. On the way there we passed by Henry of Pelham Winery so we thought why not stop there for a glass of Baco Noir on the way home. It was our first time visiting the property, but we had heard nothing but good things, and we had punished a few bottles over the years with dinner. The big bonus was when we met Eric who is the chef/owner of Wellington Court. They actually have space there on-site, and offer unreal food parings. We crushed their amazing wings, and the roast beef sandwich! Excellent flavours! Great November afternoon.
Nice wine store and cafe. The food was deliciuos
A very nice winery with a wide variety of offerings at the tasting bar. The wine store and gift shop also has a very good selection.
Great wine and tour. Food at the cafe is excellent
Great gardens and amazing baco noir!
Best Baco Noir in Canada!
Great tour lovely atmosphere, very good wines
Absolutely amazing and beautiful. Great and friendly staff. And amazing wines :)
Fantastic wine and winery. The staff are helful and cheerful. Highly recommend.
So well stocked with all their wines. Lots to taste, and great atmosphere!
Peggy was an amazing tasting guide! The Baco Noir and sparkling wines are top notch. Love Henry of Pelham! One of the best in the region and a great tour!
amazing wine , the staff was lovely, took our time , made sure to understand what kind of wine would be a "hit" for us , came from Montreal and was a wonderful experience! thank you
The best Baco, excellent ice wines and overall good wines. Very tasty wines generally.
Absolutely amazing customer service, and high quality producers of cool-climate wine. As a Niagara native and an industry veteran, my girlfriend and I loved the Cuvee Catherine Brut, and picked up the Family Reserve Riesling, Old Vines Baco and 2016 Cabernet icewine. Rhonda helped us through a great tasting, and was informative, personable and helped us navigate a vast portfolio. A definite must on the Bench / St. Catharines, and an easy recommendation! Cheers
As always a treat to taste great wines in a new kind if environment. Fiona was a great hostess. Thanks to all
This a a very cute place to have a glass and the people are nice. Not big on the wine.
Excellent selection of wines and a very knowledgeable staff that helps you to choose the best wine for the occasion.
Wine tasting is available ????
Shopping for wine made easy. Great wine but really good value. Off the main wine route but worth the extra distance.
We visited from New Zealand and found the whole experience amazing. Great food Devine wines, highly recommended
Our favorite winery in Ontario, and that’s saying something. Virtually every winery we’ve visited there is wonderful. Ambiance, friendly, cheerful, knowledgeable staff. Delicious and affordable wines. Now, if I can get some shipped to Arizona, life will be better.
A great location and atmosphere serving some of Niagara's best wines.
The place is small, but cozy and comfortable. I was there with friends and a lot of kids, although the fact that they don't have food for kids, the staf are super friendely and helped us with some snacks and toys to distract them. I prove the best Sauvignon Blanc.
Nice little spot. Nothing pretentious about these wines or the place. Would love to come back and see the cellar someday. Including a picture of the September tasting trio, which I think is pretty solid. The Lazzara is an affordable Prosecco-style wine, perfect for these sunny, early fall afternoons. I bought two!
Very informative staff Great wines good location and delicious wine both available at the winery and lcbo
Great wines produced here. Nice estate and a great scenic drive to get there.
Amazing service. Spectacular wine. Best lobster sandwich I’ve ever tasted. Best lime cheesecake ever tasted.
Henry of Pelham has been my go-to winery for decades. The different conditions of the Short Hills Bench and the minerals in the soil from the Niagara escarpment really contribute to the flavors of these wines. I still have a one or two bottles from the 1990s in my cellar and I only open them for special occasions. I do miss the Henry logo, but apart from that small detail, when I bring friends to Niagara, I usually start here.
Charming, classy with friendly staff. Good wine and good vibe. I recommend the Baco Noir and Cab Noir.
Poor and cheap
Oh my, yesterday's visit was amazing. The staff was knowledgeable. I will be going down again over the weekend. The one one wine I wanted to try wasn't chilled. But they took down our names and we'll be down again. Staff was VERY knowledgeable and the tour was fun.
Had a picnic box and then some wine tastings. Staff helpful and happy. Will definitely return
Wine excellent knowledgeable associates
Helpful staff and good selection of wines. Nice store.
Very good winery with lots of options. Missd the tour due to Covid, but will surely visit again. Very friendly staff. Liked the painting a lot :)
Excellent wine selection and really beautiful tasting room
Great wines. Beautiful winery. King of the Baco Noir!

Great tour. Wine sampling was great. Staff is nice and polite
Very nice winery with a rustic vibe. Great priced wines as well
A great location with a rich history of quality wine making. Beautiful vineyards and outstanding service make for a most relaxing, informative winery tour! Don’t miss out on the Baco !
Excellent wines
Excellent presentation for the Pinot Affair

Excellent host in the tasting room made our day. Everyone else was great too, not to mention the wine! :-)
Such a great array of wines out now and to come. There is something for EVERYONE and every taste.
Fantastic wine and winery. The staff are helful and cheerful. Highly recommend.
Delicious wine, affordable pricing, cute winery and great service
Love the Baco Noir…so yummy !
Based on a recommendation, we visited Henry of Pelham while in the area. We were not disappointed! The tasting room staff was knowledgeable and personable - making the visit a lot of fun. We tasted a number of estate wines, purchasing a couple to bring home for later enjoyment. Would recommend a visit if in the area.
Great $10 flight sampler at a top-quality Ontario wine producer. Had a wonderful selection to choose from and a well stocked store with limited available product to buy.
Lovely winery with lots of history and excellent wine. Family feel in an intimate setting. Coming back for sure.
Very friendly staff.
We had an outstanding private tasting in the ballroom on Saturday November 21, 2020 lead by Marianna. This is the second time we had a tasting lead by Marianna. Marianna is passionate about the history of Henry of Pelham which makes the tasting so interesting and enjoyable. Henry of Pelham is our favourite Ontario VQA winery and is always one of our stops when we're in the area.
Their bottle design lead me to visit the winery and the wine made me come back.
Ate at the COACH HOUSE before (2014) and was dying to get back. Finally made it again this year (2016). It was so good (5*s in 2014) that we carved out time for it anticipating a similar experience. Although the wine remains the same delicious drink we expected the food was BURIED in jalapeno peppers and hot spices that permeated nearly every dish. The avocado was overly spicy, the heirloom tomato salad was covered in hot peppers, and even the warmed olives had such an intense spicy heat most our food was unenjoyable. Understanding that like grapes each year produces different qualities in the fruit of the vine....including heat in peppers....it is still unacceptable that a chef would not taste his food before sending it out to the tables. I enjoy spicy food when eating Asian, Thai, Mexican, or Indian normally requesting "HOT", but when simple elegance of a tomato salad is lost to overwhelming spicy heat....what is the point!?! I hope for a better experience if I ever return....and hope future diners are forewarned.
(Translated) I enjoyed my visit and my tasting. I love their wine, especially the Baco Noir. (Original) J'ai bien aimé ma visite et ma dégustation. J'adore leur vin, surtout le Baco noir.
Really enjoyed a tasting at Henry of Pelham. Ontario wineries now charge for tasting post covid. There specially is Baco Noir.
Great winery! The Baco 2018 Spec Reserve is FANTASTIC!
My favourite baco noir!! And the Coach house cafe is such a lovely summer lunch venue. Haven’t been since before the pandemic though!
Great place
So impressed by the staff!
***Disclaimer*** I have not tasted the wine as I have yet to receive it!!! Therefore this review is strictly about the terrible customer service. I am so disappointed in my experience with this winery. I ordered a case through a charity event for Ronald McDonald House for which a close friend of mine is on the board. I have never ordered a case of wine in my life, but thought why not? It’s for a good cause and had always heard great things about this wine. Well, it has been a nightmare from start to finish (and I still don’t have my wine for the record)! The case was to be delivered by my friend who is on the board on December 21st (I ordered this case on December 10th). My friend called me and several of my other friends who had also ordered cases to tell us we were not even on her list. My friend and I called the winery, she got through and I didn’t. Somehow our orders had fallen through the cracks completely and were never shipped. It came to light later that it was because we hadn’t entered a particular code at checkout. If we hadn’t called, we wouldn’t have gotten the wine we had paid for and the winery wouldn’t even have known... they offered to expedite our package and ensured us it would be delivered before Christmas which was important because it’s the occasion for which you would want wine! Well my friend got her delivery this morning and texted me to let me know. So I headed down to my main floor to work from there in front of my door in anticipation of the delivery since we are less than 10 mins away from each other. Wouldn’t you know that it never came! And on the delivery site it said I wasn’t home.. well I assure you I was and nobody knocked on my door or rang the bell because my Great Dane would have let me know... let alone the simple fact that I was sitting directly in front of it! So now they are telling me they will deliver it tomorrow, but I’m not willing to take that chance and will be picking it up myself at the depot. Here comes the part that frustrates me the most. I was a manager in customer service for years. The way this was handled was totally unprofessional and a complete failure at organization on the winery’s part. (Keep in mind there were several of my friends who had this same issue so I have multiple sides of this story!) 1) Once the issue with the code was discovered, why were we not proactively contacted? No attempt was made by the winery, they waited for us to call and complain. How do you completely lose prepaid orders? I take responsibility for not entering the code but the fact that there were many of us indicates that there was a lack or organization and clarity on the winery’s part as well. 2) I discovered later that this code waived the delivery fee. A delivery fee I paid for since I hadn’t entered my code. So the expedited package was at our cost anyways! No one offered to proactively reimburse the fee that we should never have been charged! No goodwill gesture was offered to make this fiasco right... that to me is the WORST part!!! So not only did I pay a delivery charge for a case of wine I still have yet to receive, but now I’m going to pick it up myself at the depot because I am not going to wait for them to say failed delivery tomorrow and not have any wine for Christmas and the holidays when everything is closed!!! So thank you Henry Pelham Winery for this awful experience. I will not be buying your wine again as you have given me literally ZERO reason to do so. Mistakes happen, but how you rectify them is what matters. And I will be certain to share my experience with anyone who will listen in addition to this review. Merry Christmas!
So lovely! Enjoyed a vinyard picnic with a fresh charcuterie on a keepsake plank, along with an ice cold bottle of reisling. The live band was also great. Kudos to my favourite winery on making a great afternoon event
Great experience, would definitely recommend. Both food and wine were amazing.
Excellent wine. Service very good, so much so you almost don't notice or care about Covid protocols.
Great staffs, welcomed, enjoyed food. Winery only selection is always fun to try. I've been the fan for last 15 yrs, quality is always awesome.
Brought in our puppy and had a wine eating inside and all the staff were so friendly and sweet to him!
Enjoyed lunch outside, great service. The lobster and shrimp roll was delicious. Purchased wine at the store for a good price. Would definitely visit again.
Nice winery. Came near closing time so didn't get to see much but they have friendly staff members who closed late because of us.
The atmosphere was good and the food was fantastic the server jack was great
Loved the wine, staff was very helpful.
Flawless afternoon at the winery! Great music, impeccable food. Solid10/10. BooM????
I had ordered a case of wine on-line and upon receiving the 12 bottles, I was surprised to see one of them had broken during it's trip to Southwestern Ontario. I contacted Henry Of Pelham and the fantastic customer service I received made me quickly forget the mishap. Days after getting in touch with the winery I received a replacement bottle and a little something extra for me troubles, free of charge and free of hassle. A BIG thank you to Candice for all your help.
Went here during the ice wine tasting festival. They had shot glasses made of ice to serve their ice wine which was very cool. Their ice wine was very delicious!
Great knowledgable staff
Fantastic lunch at the cafe, with great tasting Pinot Grigio! And gold painted trees!
Great weather and great wine.
Wow! What a great discovery. After enjoying an amazing lunch at the Coach Cafe, we enjoyed a nice tasting at their wine store. Karen was super helpful and pleasant. We feel in love with their Baco. A must try on your wine tasting route!!!
We were looking for dog friendly wineries in the 20 valley region and were recommended Henry of Pelham. Of all the wineries we visited, Henry of Pelham had the best tasting wine. Their tasting flights come with popcorn. They even had a cafe on site although we didn't try the food. I really enjoyed the Back Noirs and the ice wines. They have several tables outdoors in a green space to sit and relax and enjoy your wine. Our dog was very welcome too.
Good winery with good wine. Like their bottle store. Went for tasting and was not able to get much information about their wines as I would like. Another thing I found very disappointing is that they do not give you a credit (charging for your tasting) if you purchase some bottles.
Really enjoy their 2018 'Old Vines' Baco Noir. We are regular visitors to the Beamsville/Niagara wine region and this is the best red we have tasted yet.
Great wines, nice atmosphere and friendly people.
Christmas
Landscaping was beautiful with a unique tasting room venue. Despite there being multiple employees, we were not greeted or guided to the tasting area. Once at the tasting bar, a specific staff member eventually greeted us and was very knowledgeable and was pleasant for the remainder of our time there. We were disappointed that many of the wines were not chilled and therefore not avaliable for us to taste. The Baco Noir was very smooth and one of our favorites in the region.
Love the Baco Noir…so yummy !
Speck Family Reserve Baco Noir CANNOT be beat. It's the absolute best Baco in North America, hands-down! The team is friendly, fast and efficient and super helpful especially if you aren't sure which wines to try.
Very nice place. Enjoyed the visit. Love living in the area!
Fantastic wine ????
A lot of pumpkins to pick up , hay ride is cool , space to park cars , corn ride is cool
Fantastic picnic in the vines today.
This is such a quaint property nestled in Niagara country. As soon as you step from your vehicle you are enveloped in the history of the place. Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable with a variety of historical facts about the winery and the area surrounding it. I was hoping that there would have been more facets to the tour as it seems that we only viewed where they were storing the barrels and then we were off to the area to taste test some of the wines.
Nice cellar, friendly staff. Well organized.
The best Baco noir!!!
Fantastic wines and even better service. Rhonda and Isabella were incredible, great knowledge of wines and top notch, friendly service
Sat outside outside for a wine tasting. Customer service was terrible. Would have gave a better rating however a young girl named Marasa or similar was very rude and ruined the experience for us. Coming from a previous winery with excellent customer service it was very disappointing. Won't be going back plenty other wineries with better customer service!
Very nice winery, able to walk in for tasting, Gamay fumé red wine, chardonnet white wine, and rosé all very nice, service with a smile, also has small restaurant, great food very nice staff, its worth the drive. Highly recommend.
Wonderful wine tour. Rhonda was very informative and pleasant! We will be back forsure!
Love the location, special events, and their wine of course. Well worth the stop.
We had a wonderful time
HOP is definitely one of the leading wine makers in the region. They are my go-to wine all the time! Love their selections.
The staff are knowledgable and friendly. I am not a wine kind of guy, I don't know my Merlot to my Bordeaux. The staff were able help select a nice wine for the family. The wine itself was great. I didn't eat in the restaurant but the food looked fresh and locally sourced.
Friendly place to visit, love their Baco Noir and oak ages Chardonnay
Good food / good setting / along with a fabulous rose. What a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Amazing place & very courteous staff
I was at Henry of Pelham about two months ago with some friends from work. We were served by Keara, who gave us great suggestions for tastings as well as other wineries to try in The Bench. I always tell people when they ask about Baco Noir to try Henry of Pelham's because it is the best I've had!
Had a wonderful tour and tasting! Rebecca was awesome and very knowledgeable. The brut, the reisling and cab merlot were standouts. A highlight of our trip!
Friendly staff with a good variety of wine. The building and winery is quite old, which lends to its unique charm. The winery is known for its Baco Noir and I also found their Riesling to be quite good as well. Tasting comes with a nice bag of popcorn which adds to the experience. Will definitely visit again when in the area.
We really love the wine but we were quite disappointed with the (paid) tour. Our host Karen seemed a bit confused and not very knowledgeable at all. We only saw the cellar and the old inn, nothing else. No talk about wine making process and many questions from the group were answered with “I dont know”. The tasting was also messy and confusing. But again, we love the wine but the tour really needs to be better organized.
This Saturday was a great day for some wine tasting right after an extensive hike. Such a great location and even better set-up with their Muskoka chairs under the trees with a live band instrumental band. I had ordered the 3 wine flight tasting, and it was great to know that you can mix and match wines for you to try and it came with popcorn! For the price, you can't go wrong! The wines tasted sooo delicious. I chose the Cabernet-Merlot, Baco Noir (Old Vines), and the Baco Noir (Reserve), paired it with their nachos, which had a generous amount of both cheese and lobster dip. It also had a good amount of spice to it from the pepper they put in. I wouldn't mind making a long drive, just to experience this place all over again!
Really nice estate, but the wine I tried during the tasting was not the best. Maybe try their Ice Wine, I heard is good.
Lovely place and the red vine is very good!
Very good simple lunch menu - great service
Great place. Great wines.
The best Baco Noir.
Absolute gem. Very friendly and accommodating staff that explained everything to us. Was very pleased with the selection for purchase as well.
The originator of the best Canadian Baco Noir.
