Awesome place and the owners are very nice. The win is more than good and we are glab we decided to make a stop here.
This has become my favourite winery in the county. Relaxed, chill, friendly. And has some of the very best reds in PEC. This is a must stop.
(Translated) Super experience. Well received, good wines. (Original) Super expérience. Bien reçu, bons vins.
We had a really nice tasting experience at Stanners. Mary was a knowledgable and very fun host. Their Riesling is one of a kind, truly, their Chardonnay is really good, especially the 2017, and their Pinot Noir, very burgundyesque! And Mary made all this all the more enjoyable. Merci Mary!
Mary was absolutely wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and took the time to chat with us. We will definitely come back!!
If you are a Pinot Noir fan, this is the winery to go to. Light but complex wines. I also tried and liked the Pinot Gris. Friendly owner who is happy to tell you about the wines.
This is without a doubt the most beautiful, charming & unpretentious winery I have ever been to. The atmosphere is so welcoming, laid back, and warm. Nothing beats sipping amazing wine, next to a meadow full of native flowers; buzzing bees; chirping insects & the happiest dog you've ever met. The owners are down to earth, knowledgeable & lovely. Their Pinot Gris is my fav! I highly recommend. Definitely do not miss this on your visit through the county. It stands above the rest of the wineries in it's authenticity & uniqueness. I could sit next to that meadow ALL day.
Fantastic spot. Very unique and extremely tasteful wines. Knowledgable and passionate maker/owner. Will be back!
I've been to the winery twice, and I regularly purchase their wines. The visits were most enjoyable, and the wines are delicious!
Loved our whole experience at Stanners. The staff and dog are so friendly. The wine tasting was informative and great. It was awesome to take photos in the vineyard. And the hand towels in the bathroom are awesome!
We had the most lovely tasting at Stanners with winemaker Colin. Beautiful wines in a stunning setting! Who could ask for more?! Thank you so much for the hospitality!!!
Nicest vineyard in the area
(Translated) Service in French. Small selection but quality wines. Excellent Chardonnay. As long as you pass in front, you have to take the time to stop there. (Original) Service en Francais. Petite sélection mais des vins de qualité. Chardonnay excellent. Tant qu'a passer devant, il faut prendre le temps de s'y arrêter.
Worst experience. The lady who owns this place was completely rude to my friends and I for chatting. And scolded my one friend for being on their phone... make sure you're not on your phone or talking to your friends when your tasting wine or you'll get in trouble. The wine followed suit of the horrible experience.. the Chardonnay smelt and tasted like marijuanna.. not pleased.
Rustic, good reds. Love the dog!
Small winery but their passion and amazing knowledge make up for size. Lovely wine
I just finished sampling the 2018 Narrows Row vineyard Pinot Noir and I felt compelled to write this review based on my 40 years of serious burgundy, pinot noir drinking. I am a graduate of the George Brown hospitality program with an emphasis on chefing. As part of the course we studied Viticulture with Jacques Marie ( author of the The Wine Mania). This wine is one of the best Ontario Pinot Noirs i have ever tasted. It has a vibrant burgundy robe and a splendid nose, full of red fruit. On the palate it is perfectly balanced between its sweetness (fruit) and acid and even lingers for a while on the finish. Not sure how long you would be able to cellar it but it is so good that that should not be a problem, as it won't last long.
Numerous people told me this place was an essential stop on any wine tour of PEC, and they were right. Delicious, complex wines in a wildflower meadow, and lovely hosts.
Small family run winery. We stopped by on Saturday and they had live jazz which was a bonus. The Cab Franc and Riesling were AMAZING!!! Probably one of the best Cab Franc's I've had. Super happy we stopped here, highly recommend it!
Small place overall good wine that's about it
Fantastic personalized service.
Delicious, one-of-a-kind wine on a beautiful property! A must visit in the county.
Really enjoyed our stop here! From the confident owner to the sweet winery dog, and of course a delightful cab franc. Also loved the monarch butterflies flying around.
Small start up,,doing well with good tasting wines,,hope to see them expand..Small park outside property ,we carried bikes in truck to it and began the tour on bike from there... was very good route.
Stanners was a stop on our Sandbanks Vacations wine tour and I loved it! It's so different from the more commercialized wineries, which I really enjoyed. I really like that the owners care so much about their environmental footprint. We were hosted in the tasting room by one of the owners, Mary, who was engaging, warm and friendly. You can tell that she is really passionate about their wine. We each tasted 3 wines and I liked them all (even the Rieslings, and I don't usually like white wine that much). I took home a bottle of their delicious Pinot Noir, can't wait to drink it.
I did not use the Winery itself but I didn't want to ruin their rating. I was forced to put in a star rating in order to comment. I am a coach driver and the Winery is not at all conducive to coach traffic or parking. Expect to drive & reverse down a long lane & hope for the kindness of strangers to let you out. The timing (and recent rainfall) of my trip dissuaded me from driving on their grass. That is all.
Just an absolutely wonderful, friendly, down-to-earth, and unpretentious winery. MASSIVE BONUS POINTS TO OLIVER THE GOOD BOY (He's a dog) that actually slowly greeted our car and, I kid you not, kind of ushers us to the parking spot before greeting us as we walked out and brings us to the main tasting area. I absolutely adored him. I'm not a big wine person, but my mom is and she enjoyed her time, and we all had a lovely chat with the proprietor. I wish them the very best, I know it hasn't been easy for them with COVID. But my what a nice, simple, cozy winery.
Fabulous wines!! Interesting straw bale building. Super friendly winery greeter named Oliver. ????
We were a group of 5 who visited 14 wineries during our PEC trip. All agreed this was in our top 3! We were greeted by friends from Belleville upon arrival as they had a pop up event that evening. Had we known we would have definetly come back! Some wines were completly sold out which speaks to the demand. I really enjoy a Pinot Noir so the gentleman helping us searched for their 2009 library edition and it blew my mind! I can't wait to crack this bottle open for a special occasion and re live the whole experience. Note they have the friendliest dog! All the wines we tasted were if superb quality, unique and worth returning for over and over. Stanners will be a staple when I return to PEC
Doing two nice wines, a Chardonnay and a pinot noir. Both of the local versions are very good.
Loved this place!! The owner was super nice and actually showed us how the grapes get punched down. I don't usually like Rieslings (too sweet), but theirs are delicious.. I bought 2 bottles!
Tiny place and easily missed. I enjoyed the pinot and the chard. This is sure to grow. I’ll be back again.
Quaint, friendly, and family run winery. Owner/operator was helpful. This is a simple approachable down to earth operation. Very focused on minimizing thier ecological footprint. Take the short drive off the main drive to check them out.
Small and friendly winery. We got an amazing Pinot Noir bottle after trying few different wines.
The 2014 County Chardonnay is spectacular. It tastes like MORE! Really enjoyed the Pinot Gris Cuivré - glad it's back again this year.
Terry made our tasting absolutely incredible. He was so knowledgeable and great to chat with. We learned so much on our tasting tour. Tried 5 wines....all were good. We purchased two different kinds.
I do not trust the staff, the owners or their products with my safety. I do not recommend this place.
We had a full tasting with Mary and Lisa and it was wonderful! We learned so much and felt like we were truly welcomed into the space. Mary clearly has a passion for her wines and is willing to share with anyone interested. A truly hidden gem and would highly recommend a visit!
(Translated) "Low intervention" vineyard that makes excellent wines. Very good sommelier who knows his wines well and makes you want to. The Pinots Noirs are excellent. We fell in love with the orange wine. Definitely in our top 5! (Original) Vignoble « low intervention » qui fait d’excellents vins. Très bon sommelier qui connaît bien ses vins et donne envie. Les pinots noirs sont excellents. Coup de cœur pour le vin orange. Définitivement dans notre top 5 !
The wines were nice as was the small seating area. All the wines were dry. Friendly staff and dog.
The smell inside turned my stomach. The wine is probably the bottom of the totem pole for me. (Side note, women serving kept coughing into her hand and then touching the bottles and the wine glasses...yuk! )
Some of the better wines in the County. Very knowledgeable staff, friendly with a great atmosphere. We will be back!
Small place, easy to overlook but they make really smooth good wine. We bought a bottle of Pino because we loved it
Love Stanners! Amazing Pinots! I've been to the winery a few times and love how it is a small, family run setup. Had home delivery too before Christmas. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
