You have all the information of people like you who are purchasing the products and services of Norman Hardie Winery (Winery) in Belleville (Canada).
At present the business gets a rating of 4.2 over 5 and this score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is positive, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can be pretty sure that the evaluation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Winery is classified in the category of Winery.
The pesto potato salad was really good. Something different from typical leafy. The pizzas were good as others have reviewed. Ambiance and view is very nice.
Went there with friends who are wine lovers, wonderful time and great pizzas. 5 of us, had 5 pieces pizzas and 4 cases of 2016 county chardonnay, the best white wine in ontario. Thanks Noman and your staffs for your hospitality. Will back again for sure!
One of our favorites wineries in PEC. Their County Chardonnay is AMAZING. We also had dinner on their patio : we shared the Caprese salad (so fresh and delicious) and excellent pizza (the Salsiccia and the Dolcé e Piccante are to die for if you like something tasty and a little spicy!!). I definitely recommend this place!
Pizza is top notch
Great atmosphere with very knowledgeable and friendly staff
Amending my rating based on the news of Hardie's misconduct. I wish I had known this prior to dining here.
Had a nice time there, and told friends about it. They went and told me about how they were treated and heard others being spoken to and have to change my review and NOT recommend this place. I have since been sent an article of the owner that was in the Globe and Mail that explained everything I need to know. Will not be going back and will in fact be recommending people not go there. Unfortunate, but there are other nice options in that region
We went here in October and did a wine tasting. It was good. 4 for $10. Generous sample serving. We also had pizza. Pizza was good and reasonably priced. We didn't have wine with the pizza, it was rather expensive by the glass. We would go again.
Lovely! Pizza is delicious!
Not worth it.
Always pleasant staff. Great teamwork. Great food, great wines
Amazing pizza
Awesome pizza. And wine
Best winery experience, tasted variety of wines, delicious food and amazing service. Great place and worth driving from Toronto for weekend gateway..
A little bit pricey but wow do they have some delicious wine. A can’t miss if you’re visiting PEC. Definitely try their Pinot Noir. Wood fired pizza is also available in the spring/ summer and its delicious!
Not sure why this place has been review-bombed but not my concern. Place had some surprisingly good wine, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a really great space in general. …
We very much enjoyed our tasting and left with a bagful of wine. Jodi was wonderful and clearly loves what she does and has so much knowledge about Prince Edward County. It was a great experience and I highly recommend.
(Translated) Great place! In addition to being treated to exceptional service from Luciano during the tasting, we had a memorable meal! The place is beautiful and will certainly create some memorable moments !! You will not be disappointed! Thanks Luciano for the experience! ???? (Original) Super endroit! ????
Really good food highlighting some fresh local ingredients (caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes and basil grown picked fresh from the vine on site, or the smoked trout you can watch being smoked, *chefs kiss*) and very interesting wines. Clearly a lot of knowledge and experience behind the operation - a gorgeous place to visit! Thank you!
Best spot in the county for amazing pizza and a glass of wine. Great atmosphere, excellent service and family friendly too! Highly recommend the smoked trout and can't go wrong with any of the pizzas. A must visit!
(Translated) Great pizza, great wines We went with three young children and jus were very well received. (Original) Super pizza, super vins Nous y sommes allés avec trois jeunes enfants et jus avons été très bien reçus.
This is not a complete review as we did not have a chance to try the pizza. We came for wine tasting and I'd have to say it was quite disappointing.
Great wine, great wood oven pizza, great oysters, great service and fabulous Covid-19 safety protocols.
Excellent wine especially the new red blend
Amazing food and wine pairings, and also a great place to bring kids. There's a trampoline on the property! When we arrived they told us there might be a wait.... Which was really only 20 minutes. Well worth the wait, as well as the drive.
Great wine, pizza, patio and service
Amazing service and great pizza. Good wines
Beautiful location, divine food and great staff!
Nice place, excelente food, good service.
Got to enjoy Norman Hardie Winery while honeymoonin' in PEC. We had an absolute blast. Spent most of our day here because we just loved the atmosphere. Pizza was incredible and so nice to indulge after a day of yummy wine! Looking forward to when we make it back for more. Thanks for a great time.
Wasn't impressed with the wine, couldn't even finish my second sample.
We went for a wine tasting this week... which was fantastic. Then we were pleasantly surprised by the oysters and pizza we had for lunch. Absolutely amazing! The little jars of Hot Oil is like liquid gold. We had to buy a couple of bottles along with some wine. Great wine... great food... great experience. We'll be back! We'll be back
Not a haughty taughty winery but seems down to earth. Small reception area and store but all you need. Weather permitting a good place to eat as it's outside. Staff was very accommodating answering many questions. Not on the main highway but a short drive from. Would I go back? Yes!
Lou made the experience. We were waiting in line and he facilitated our tasting to get us through the big Saturday crowds and enjoy the delicious wine. We had a great time, and to boot, the pizza was outstanding.
One of the best wineries in Prince Edward county. The wines are delicious and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. But the best part are their pizza's. It is so delicious, all freshly made. My favourite is the funghi and the Napoli. Can't go wrong.
Two weeks ago, my husband, our daughter and I went to visit Norman Hardie's winery. What a day that was. Upon our arrival, I was charmed by the site. The outside layout for tables made an oasis impression on me. They have created some pods so people can be in the shade and socially distancing from each other easily. And it is right in the middle of the vineyard. So everywhere you look, you are surrounded by vines... Peaceful. Then came the pizzas and the wine. Absolutely delicious! I never had such a hard time choosing which pizza to go for as I had this time, all looked soooo good! And I was not a big fan of kale up until I tried their Kale ceasar salad. I am hooked! The whole food experience is truly worth going there. And I have to mention the staff. Not easy to go up and down the land to serve people but they do it with a huge smile and friendly approach. You can tell that they are great at what they are doing. Then we wanted to get some wine to bring home. The staff that made us try some different wines know what they are talking about. We left with 6 bottles. I would definetly go back. What a charming experience we all had! Thank you to all of you for making us having such a great relaxing day!
The pizza they serve is delicious. The wines I tasted were delicious and refreshing. The winery grounds didnt seem like anything very special during the time that I was there.
Weird to see the dude there..kinda creepy. Staff and food were lovely.
(Translated) Nice experience. To discover! (Original) Belle expérience. A découvrir!
Wine tasting and a pizza made in a wood burning stove. A great combination.
Good pizza nice place
I wasn’t super impressed. The prices were high. I had the caprese salad which was $25 and it had little to no dressing and was very bland and the pizza was not super filling. On top of that It was frustrating that they couldn’t split a bill. At this day in age a restaurant should be able to split a bill.
The pizza oven wasn't operating, this would have been nice to know. The salads served instead were ok. The terrasse is equipped with a dozen parasols that guests are forbidded to use when there's a slight risk of wind. Service was ok. Vines by the glass aren't cheap...
We were disappointed with our visit today. We ordered a margarita pizza and 2 glasses of wine and despite both tasting very good, the menu didn’t mention ounces per glass and the cheapest glass of wine was $16. After our server poured our wine, we asked about the portions since there was a legitimate 3oz in our glass and the price was $16. She was very dismissive with her response and we didn’t feel welcome to stay longer. This picture is our glasses of wine untouched and the pizza we shared. Our bill before our tip was $55. Also, not to sound pretentious but our server was wearing muddy crocs?
Easily the best wine in the county, and arguably best in Ontario and Canada. The reds are absolutely magnificent and have been since I can remember in the 2008 vintage year, the County Pinot will always be a favourite. The whites are lovely as well and well priced given the quality. The Riesling is my favourite white, although it's too bad the Melon de Bourgogne is no longer a thing. Try their Calcerre and Cab Franc for something different. The winery itself is located with easy access in Hillier and has wonderful food setup with the large smoker doing trout, and a few years of solid wood fired pizzas. Norm himself has been there on site working everyday which is great to see. He's always been a great winemaker, looking forward to this years vintage, it's a hot summer.
Pizza was really good. Service was friendly. Would have given five stars but the table was sticky and the tap water tasted a bit off
Great food, environment and staff
Beautiful place, great pizza, and great wine
Very nice gourmet pizza and they have some nice wines. Well worth the visit.
Fabulous winery....Dogs allowed!! Very friendly staff and service. Excellent overall experience!
The wait staff and Lou are amazing people and very knowledgeable. They also serve amazing pizza here.
Wow. Top notch patio, service, pizza, oysters, kale salad and wine. Received extra special service from Norman Hardie himself who ensured our party was seated promptly and who shared stories of two very special wines named for cherished friends and colleagues. Can't wait to go back.
Was excited to come here because of all the rave reviews, but the prices were ridiculously high, and I spent so much only to receive a few small pizzas with almost nothing on them. There was barely any cheese or toppings, and the dough tasted like an average flatbread. Not worth it, don't bother wasting your money.
Their wine was fantastic! We did a tasting, and will definitely be back!
Pretty winery but didn't get great service. We didn't enjoy any of the wines we tried and the staff didn't even attempt to make any recommendations and possibly up charged our tasting. Not our favourite winery this trip for sure. Over hyped
Nice place to have something to eat. The wines are good
Amazing wine, amazing food, chatted with the owner. He is very humble and very much in to his craft. Amazing atmosphere amazing service. I cannot say enough good things about this place.
Very well developed vineyard. Pizza is great and good selection of wines. Extremely busy for tastings so I just went with my taste and took home a good selection. Could be improved with more self guided info around the estate.
Classless organization
We bicycled to the winery as a last stop on a long day of riding. We were welcomed by a fun knowledgeable and pleasant young man who guided us through the wine selection. We returned the following day to grab our purchases which we will enjoy with family.
Awesome pizza, salad, and wine for lunch! Get the Pinot noir with spicy pizza!
(Translated) Great welcome and what to say about the very good "limestone" drunk on the terrace accompanied by a delicious pizza in the boo oven (Original) Super accueil et que dire du très bon « calcaire » bu en terrasse accompagné d’une délicieuse pizza au four à boos
Location + pizza + friendly staff
Best pizza I’ve ever had! The wine is good too!
Amazing food, wine and service. If you in the area, or not ( like us) it’s worth the trip. Highly recommended!!!!
Awesome pizza and service. We were able have a tasting and meal outside and John at the tasting table was very knowledgeable and kind. The wine wasn’t my absolute favourite but it was good overall!
Exceptional customer service and incredible wine! Love the pizza too! Can't wait for our next visit.
My recent dinner was almost completely ruined by a very bitter server who was a complete buzzkill and lack of help or kindness, but he was honestly just one very sour grape in a very sweet bunch. Pizzas and smoked trout were super delicious. Every one guiding the tastings were very nice, and we left with a few bottles. Pregnant wife was treated like royalty by everyone but our rude server. She swears by the olives and hates me for not ordering the smoked trout sooner!
The BEST wine in the County. Couple that with the most down to earth, humble, personable owner!
Absolutely loved the experience. We went for the 2nd year and did the tasting with Lucianno. Very knowledgeable and all the staff are amazing. The view is great, atmosphere serene. My fiance and I will come back for sure
Visited the winery this past weekend. The location is great, nice seating area outside by a fire (it was cold and raining) - We were greeted by the friendly owner and staff. +s: The wine tasting was good (limited production), and the lunch of smoked trout and oysters was also very good. -s: The price for lunch (smoked trout $26 & oysters at $3 each, see photo) and a 5 oz glass of wine ($16) seemed expensive. I did end up buying 2 bottles of their 2017 Pinot Noir ($45 each, a little pricey), because I buy at every vineyard I visit. The experience was good, but I likely will only visit and taste their wine on my next trip.
The winery was lovely and the rustic decor/stainless steel was very much to my taste! The tasting was great but I left not knowing anything about the vineyard or what is different/special about the winery. Would have liked a bit more one on one conversation.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We were lucky that their tasting was open in the COVID situation. Amazing unfiltered wines and great experience in their winery. They have free delivery for orders over $90. Can’t wait to order more wines.
Always the most gracious hospitality, the most amazing wine, and the most delicious pizza. A must visit, especially during the harvest season to see the winery in action!
Love the wine and food. We had a great time.
The wines speak for themselves! They are smooth, mature, linear and sophisticated. Absolutely delicious!!!! The food, the perfect pairing! The pizza pairs perfectly with the wine and are so flavourful and well cooked. Oysters are fresh and fantastic! I highly HIGHLY RECOMMEND the smoked trout! COUNTY PINOT NOIR and COUNTY CHARD are one for the cellar!
Was in the county recently; have been going to Norman Hardie for many years; have not been back since the article on sexual harassment (cbc). On entrance I was surprised that it was very busy, the staff was nice, wine was good, I had a Pinot and a Chardonnay. I also had a bad feeling about being at the winery, so I paid for my samples and left. It was a mistake to return! I will not being able to return to this winery. There are other good wineries in the county, so it still worth going to the county.
The pizza was fire ???? ???? . My wife said it was the best she ever had!! Only complaint we had is that we called before coming and they said no wait or issues getting a table. We show up at 130pm on a Monday and it was a 45min wait. Wish they would've given us a heads up. So we got take out and sat away from everyone at their pergolas and it was a great private experience. So good.
Awesome pizza! Great service provided by Kaylee (sp?) :)
Lou made the experience. We were waiting in line and he facilitated our tasting to get us through the big Saturday crowds and enjoy the delicious wine. We had a great time, and to boot, the pizza was outstanding.
Incredible experience. Great food, exceptional staff, energizing atmosphere and, of course, wonderful wine. Congratulations on putting it all together Norm. Thank you.
Dropped by for a wine tasting that we enjoyed. Tasting was $5 for three 1oz pours and the bar staff comped one of the tastings when we bought a glass. Knowledgeable friendly staff overall. We enjoyed the views as well.
Thanks for such a wonderful experience! Arrived a little before close but the owner welcomed us up to the tasting room and even brought out a pizza for us to enjoy. Tyler was great and we look forward to coming back!
Excellent wine. Must try. County Pinot Noir is to die for.
(Translated) Excellent pizza on wood oven. Urban and relaxed atmosphere in the middle of the vineyards. To try with a glass of house wine! (Original) Excellente pizza sur four à bois. Ambiance urbaine et décontractée au beau milieu des vignobles. À essayer avec un verre de vin maison!
We visited the winery on the weekend and bought 2 bottles of the 2015 Pinot Noir. Once we got home we realized they accidentally gave us the wrong bottles. I contacted them and they apologized for the mistake and shipped out 2 bottles of the Pinot Noir, all with in 24 hrs. I highly recommend the wine, pizza and customer service. I look forward to visiting them again in the future.
Pizza was ok. Only 3 washrooms. . Was there on a Saturday. It's pretty small too many people. Kinda disappointed. It's no Niagara .
Wonderful experience. Great staff. Only issue I have is the cost is a very small glass of wine $15. A bottle approximate $45. Very very expensive. I bought 3 small glasses of wine $48.
We enjoyed the wines, but really think they are overpriced, as are their lunch offerings (for what you get). Our lunch, all in, cost about $100 - I'd say the value was about $60. They need to invest a bit of money back into the eatery if they are to attract customers back.
Absolutely wonderful atmosphere and staff. I will definitely be going back for both the pizza and wine.
The pizza and the people are really great. The only thing I would have loved is somewhere in the shade to sit as I am fair and the entire patio is in full sun. I felt a little like I was melting during the experience haha. Beautiful atmosphere.
Beautiful location and very nice wines. Little expensive though.
(Translated) Good pizza, the Napoli was a bit too spicy The wine is excellent. Good service in French (Original) Bonne pizza, la Napoli etait un peu trop épicé Le vin est excelent. Bon service en francais
One of our highlight from PEC. Restaurant has amazing view and service, pizzas were so good! We did a wine tasting with Olivier that has been very generous of his wine knowledge, it was an incredible afternoon!
Loved it! Great pizza and oysters!
Great spot but overpriced and would not split our bills for some strange reason.
A true world class wine producer with fantastic Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir. As a wine and beer professional I am always impressed with the quality of wines coming from this vineyard. Easily one of Canada's very best.
Travelling solo. They sat me at the bar on a busy Saturday... Only to kick me out moments later because they wanted to give the space to a couple. This is not how you treat customers. It was insulting and highly unprofessional. If someone on the staff made a mistake, deal with it in back of house, not by making a paying customer feel like a 2nd class citizen for daring to travel alone. ETA: County Pinot Noir is highly overrated. Check out Rosehall for richer reds.
(Translated) A great place to visit and an experience to live. Thanks to Sam and the whole team for the visit and the tasting. The wines were impressive, I didn't think we made such good wines in Canada ... Dare the experience. And don't miss the pizza ;-) (Original) Un super bel endroit à visiter et une exprience à vivre. Merci à Sam et toute l'équipe pour la visite et la dégustation. Les vins étaient impressionnant, je ne pensais pas qu'on faisait d'aussi bons vins au Canada... Osez l'expérience. Et ne manquez pas la pizza ;-)
Perfect place to find some of the best Pinot Noir in Ontario. Pair your visit with a wood fired pizza on their patio and you've got recipe for a lovely lunch in wine country!
Nice place to stop for a tasting and a wood fired pizza
Excellent service and great experience
Great wine, pizza but the staff are rockstars! Busy on weekends, but the wait isn't too long for a table. Also give you time to taste some fantastic wines in the retail store! The smoked trout and oysters are also excellent. A must stop when visiting PEC! Family friendly.
The winery was a fantastic experience. The wine was exceptional quality, the food was excellent. All the staff were professional and an absolute delight. I would definitely recommend it.
(Translated) I had a wonderful time in the company of Christian, a very nice character and a great connoisseur of the wine world. I did not expect to be transported to my native Chalonnaise coast so close to Montreal, both by the grape varieties and by the barrels of Mercurey, my village. I recommend the "County" Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs, made 100% with grapes grown on site!
Best winery in PEC. The reserve Chardonnays are tremendous as is the PEC Cab Franc. Old world in the new world. Tasty pizzas to boot.
Since working here I have had nothing but an amazing experience! The vines show we are going to have a fabulous harvest this year, which equals more fabulous wine! Looking forward to the 2018 harvest party :) Cheers!
One of our favourite spots in PEC. First visited because of a roadside sign advertising their pizza. Learned afterwards about the prestige and accolades of the winery. Great views from covered pagodas overlooking the property.
Wine was delicious, pizza overrated? Maybe because the pizza was cold for some reason…
Excellent pizza, good wine and great place to bring your kids
Wine tasting was ok, staff were overwhelmed and we had to wait nearly 10 minutes just to pay so we could leave. Also pizza is not offered everyday even if dining is open. We went on a Wednesday in August, and were really disappointed.
Most wonderful experience ever!!!! Norman Hardie is quite the host! Thank you for your kind attention today. The wine is amazing and the pizza to die for! Already looking forward to our next visit! We recommend with no hesitation :)
Excellent pizza, spectacular wines. A must!
Best wood stove pizza i've ever had
If you are not currently on their patio you are doing something wrong!
(Translated) Just wow Luciano was a great sommelier or advisor and all that in French and yes there were a few who spoke French really interesting @ (Original) Juste wow Luciano a été un super de bon sommelier ou conseillé et tout ça en français et oui ils étaient quelques uns à parler français vraiment intéressant @
Lovely wines and the pizza is spectacular!
We visited Norman Hardie for lunch over the weekend and had an AMAZING time. We try and come here every year and each time we are blown away by the great service and good pizza. After lunch, we moved over to do wine tastings and really enjoyed our time. All of the staff were great and accommodating to our large group with kids. We highly recommend visiting this winery on your PEC trip!
Best reds in the county.
Great place for wood-oven pizzas and a glass of wine during your stay at the County! For COVID measures, they have a large outdoor space with well spaced-out tables which is wonderful in the summer! Staff is friendly and pizza was yummy. They don’t take reservations so be sure to show up early as wait times can be long even on weekdays.
When in the County , Norman Hardie's Winery is our go to place for a fantastic outdoor lunch. We are often visit two days in a row. The experience (food, wine and service) is superb. Thanks to Erica , Norman, Ray and the rest of the great staff for always treating us so well when we visit. Hope to see you again before winter. Nancy and Greg
Very crowded, such a nice place, great pizza and great wine.
Fabulous day and a lovely change from our usual Beamsville and NOL. Which we still love. But this was a ton of fun. The more-than-an-hour wait for a table for food was well spent drinking the wines, and making new friends :) We will be back.
(Translated) Very beautiful vineyard and excellent menu (oyster bar, smoked trout, salads and excellent pizzas). We had a great time there (Original) Très beau vignoble et excellent menu (bar à huîtres, truite fumée, salades et excellentes pizzas). Nous y avons passé un bon moment
Had a wonderful time with our group of 8 on the 21rst of August. Lou was our host and walked us through a wonderful tasting. He knew so much and made the tasting professional yet very fun. Thankyou lou. A great Italiano ???? thank you Norm as always for your hospitality Chef Oliver Bartsch
A rare find winery that smokes it's own fresh trout on site. It was sooo yummy that we packed an additional fish home! For the wine, the country Chardonnay is very nice!
Best winery in the County. Pizza ???? Olives ???? Riesling???? Trout ???? Chardonnay ????. Overall ????????????
Beautiful location, interesting art and sculpture layout at the foot of the eating area Pizza is exceptional - enjoyed the Salsiccia after sharing a plate of 12 PEI oysters Wines are delightful - personal preference for the Reisling and either of their Pinot Noir Highly recommended - great place to stop for lunch and to grab a case of wine
We came for wine tasting on a weekday and found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were very good and our experience overall was excellent. We came on our bicycle and met the owner that offered us a much needed water fill. I'll be back for sure!
(Translated) Delicious pizza on an enchanting site! Excellent social distancing and attentive service. (Original) Pizza délicieuse sur un site enchanteur ! Distanciation sociale excellente et service attentionné.
Excellent wine. Must try. County Pinot Noir is to die for.
This place is dog-friendly. It’s enough for me to give it five stars. Cheers! ????
Excellent wines, great facilities, would have liked a few crackers or something to clean the pallette in between tasting.
Due to some of the lower rated reviews, I was almost about to pass on this place but I’m glad I didn’t! I’ve heard excellent things about the wood fire pizzas and they were delicious! I’m glad we made it in before they closed for the evening. Outdoor patio space was lovely as well. And the service was impeccable! Would not hesitate to go back!!
Fun staff, great sliders and an overall great time.
A must-visit in the County!! Fantastic wine and food - highly recommend the tomato salad if you're stopping for lunch. The staff were very friendly and made sure we had a great experience.
We did a tasting with Nina the wine was good and she did a really compelling storytelling about it the restaurant was amazing the oysters were fresh and the hot sauce was to die for the pizza were good in a wood burning oven 10000% recommend plus the staff was so nice
Weekend getaway with a toddler and absolutely love this place! Great wood fired pizza and delish wine in a cute setting! Even a trampoline for the kiddies. Get the Pinot Noir or Rose so good! Gluten free options available
Too expensive
We came for the pizza and stayed for the wine. Food was delicious: smoked trout, oysters and pizza. Wow. Good job. Good wine. Good food. Good service. Clean your washrooms.
Must go for the pizza's. We went for a late lunch and had seating outside and the server-Jenika is amazing!! She had great recommendation of what to try and she was bang on! Definitely would go back here. It does get quite busy, so be patient as I'm not sure if reservation is available.
Before going here, I suggest Googling "Norman Hardie allegations". I will not be going back here or recommending it to others. Here's my original 5* review: The staff was excellent all around. The atmosphere is unlike anywhere I've ever been in Ontario with it's hip outdoor restaurant setup and incredible view on the vineyard. Everything we ate was delicious from the olives to the salads to the pizzas. Make sure you check the operating hours and make a reservation. Be prepared to go a little off the beaten path and take a short drive down an unpaved gravel road. Ask for the chili oil; it's more flavour than ????.
We ordered two veggie pizzas, both were amazing, very well made and quite delicious. The servers here were bilingual, speaking both English and French. This place has some unique structures made from volcanic rocks from africa- those were beautiful too. And I should add, this place is vast and can accommodate large number of guests.
Great wines with Christian at the tasting station and excellent pizzas and oysters with MC down at the tables. Thanks a lot guys again for the great experience.
Great people, great wine. Recommend highly.
Pinot Noir was my favourite.
Had a fun experience at Norman Hardie this past week. The space is very comfortable and inviting. Lots of room to sit and hang out. The wine was good, but the pizza was remarkable. Whoever thought of combining both is a genius
(Translated) Very nice experience. Delicious pizza and smoked trout. Excellent wines, warm service and respected distance. It's worth the detour ! (Original) Très belle expérience. Pizza et truite fumée délicieuses. Excellents vins, service chaleureux et distanciation respectée. Ça vaut le détour !
We came here on a Wednesday and there was a 1 hour 15 min wait for pizza dine in. You can also do takeout. We put our number down and did the wine tasting. You have to line up and someone at one of the stations will call you over. There was no signage for the line so we were unsure how it worked at first. We went to another winery and came back to ask if the table was ready. They said they contacted us earlier but they must have taken down the wrong phone number. They were able to give us a table right away though. We ordered 2 pizzas and wine. Pizza was delicious. Everyone working there was pretty friendly.
Best pizza, hands down and I've been to Italy! Amazing service, friendly servers. They also suggest wine pairings with the food, they know their stuff. Will be back again!
This winery is located on a clay limestone hill and has its their vineyards in PEC and Niagara - their wines are really elegant and unique, I especially like their Chardonnays. I also feel that one of the highlights of going to Norman Hardie winery is their stone oven and their homemade pizza - NH is not only a place to drink wine, but also a really good place to enjoy a quiet lunch too, surrounded by their pretty vineyards. Also they have lots of tables and seating spaces available.
I love the white wines!
Very disappointing. Was told one of the top wineries in the area. Wines were poor quality and the person who lead the tasting had poor knowledge of the wine making process. With lunch we were charged $17 for a small glass of wine under 5 oz. I felt totally ripped off. The owners are taking advantage of their customers. Not worth the stop. Robert
Excellent wines with a good variety. The wood fired pizza is superb. Be prepared to wait for a table during peak hours. Well worth the wait.
Amazing place to visit and nice views
Very friendly staff for the wine tasting! And very good wine as well! We were hoping to have a pizza but it wasn’t open today
TERRIBLE! Avoid this place at all costs folks I've enjoyed eateries and wineries all over the world, including many in France and Napa Valley, and can recognize value. Not the case at NH. Long wait time; burnt pizza; wine at $17.50 a glass; glorious view of the gravelled parking lot! Embarrassing experience in front of our guests.
Awesome wine and pizza, but you have to go to a tasting with Luciano aka Lou aka Lucy aka Looch. He was our first interaction and was, hands down, the best part of our experience. He personalized our wine tasting and was so knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely come back and ask for Looch!
Great wood fired pizza. Fantastic staff. Awesome wine
Best in the county. Make sure to grab pizza when available. Norm and his staff are extremely hospitable and absurdly talented.
Over priced, over valued and over worker. Seems like a hostile work environment for some of the staff.
Jody is the best!
Such great pizza, such great staff and amazing wine. The whole venue is warm and cozy even when in rainy and gloomy weather. Would recommend this joint for anyone in the area vacationing or even visiting the PEC area. To the people downvoting this place for political reasons: It is unfair to the people that work there that don't share the same values as Norman. It is also ridiculous you enjoyed this place previously then decide to downvote because you heard of something that was done in the past. RIDICULOUS
Great Winery worth the visit. The tasting is great and if purchased offers a discount on wine purchases (making it free.) The food is good and you should plan to get lunch or dinner while there.
I wish we had made a reservation ahead but glad we got a seat for lunch! The pizza was awesome and the caprese salad was made with fresh from their garden ingredients just amazing! The wine was not my favourite from what we sampled at the tasting, but the pizza makes it worth the visit.
This place is a MUST GO for pizza if you are in the area and is popular with Toronto folk. The pizza is wood oven fired and all the food is totally top notch. There is a hand made chili sauce to drizzle on your pizza that will knock your socks off. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the wine experience. Maybe our timing was bad but the wine tasting was irritating. Staff seemed like they couldn't be bothered with us. Could have just been there on a bad day.
Would never have this wine again, terrible experience.
Amazing Pizza oven! Super Tom helped me out with my wine tasting selection. Wine was so good I ended up buying 8bottles. Got a free hat! Cheers Tom.
Great Pinots and warm, friendly staff
Loved it! Great pizza and oysters!
We had the most amazing evening. The waiter Sam was so friendly and made our 2 year old feel so special. Norman the owner came over to our table and shared some of his travel experience. The food and wine was excellent. Highly recommended.
Can’t wait to go back, eat some pizza and drink some wine. I got County pinot Cab franc Chardonnay Calcaire for Christmas and it was wonderful. When I’ll go I want to pick a couple bottles of the Calcaire and see what new wines they have now.
Lovely winery located on a clay limestone hill in Prince Edward County. Their Neapolitan style wood oven pizza is ohhhh so good!! The Calcaire wine was also delicious. Pizza Dolce e piccante Tomatoes, fior de latte, peperoncini, honey, sausage, basil, rebellion Blue Funghi Fior de latte, shiitake and oyster mushrooms, garlic, Brie and thyme Two glasses of calcaire wine Lively notes of passionfruit and fresh white flower
Such a dreamy time eating this amazing pizza and tasting all of the delicious wines. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful despite it being the end of one of the busiest days of the year (harvest). The cabanas put in place for social distancing are so beautiful and romantic.
Went here based on reviews and service at tasting bar was terrible. The guy barely looked up from his phone. Told me nothing about the wines or winery, just said "all the wines are good here." Would have maybe bought a bottle of the Pinot noir but I just couldn't based on the horrible service! Hire some staff that care about what you are selling!
Awesome wood oven pizza lunch with wine.
Dylan (and I am sorry to say I forget the name of the other fellow!!!) were beyond kind and hospitable to my sister and I on our first visit there ever. Delicious pizza and we arrived just in the end of their work day but they didn’t mind taking care of us. It was cold as end of season but the fire outside by the wine tasting and storefront was warm ~ and so ware all the staff. Definitely looking forward to my next visit. Stylish open air and delicious pizza and wine flights ~ neat gift shop too. Thnx guys !
Pizza is to die for. This is our go-to place when in Prince Edward County. The open air restaurant can get cool at night so bring a sweater. But it's a wonderful experience if you don't want ordinary. Beautiful property. Parking can be scarce during peak season and peak times on busy days like weekends. If you love pizza, you gotta eat this.
Exceptional site where we were entertained (that's the word) by one of the best taster I've ever had. We really enjoyed our visit, they made accommodation to pick up the wine later since we were on bike. Wine tasted very good too! Definitely recommend.
Awesome, they have such a beautiful outdoor dining area set up all socially distant but still nice and the wood fired pizza was fantastic. It was expensive but so good. The wine was really good too.
Best wine and wood fired pizza in the county!
Another amazing visit to Norman Hardie Winery. Gorgeous icy cold County Chardonnay paired with a spicy, sweet wood fired pizza..and wonderful gracious hosts, as always. Five stars isnt nearly enough.
(Translated) The warm welcome, the impeccable service, the elegance of an upscale address, the delicious wines, the fresh products of the region, all executed brilliantly and without pretension. My girlfriend and I had a memorable time on this magnificent Estate which was the highlight of our weekend in Prince Edward County. We will meet again very soon!
Great wine, great ambiance and friendly staff ????
Nice wines with some unique flavours. Interesting to taste their County and Niagara Chardonnay side-by-side.
Amazing wine, pizza and service. Can be a bit of a wait on a busy summer weekend
Since working here I have had nothing but an amazing experience! The vines show we are going to have a fabulous harvest this year, which equals more fabulous wine! Looking forward to the 2018 harvest party :) Cheers!
Horrible service. Wait was an hour when we were quoted 20 min. After an hour, we asked what was going on and host was very rude saying, “this is not the DVP and 401”!
Waited for two hours for a table à the restaurant. Many available tables but the hostess doesn’t give an F about us. We left a little soured, the vibe was bad. This place is about money, not experience.
Yay normand hardie. So delicious. Experience was well though with a sommelier through a glass to have a covid friendly experience. Wine was the best. Location is super. Restaurant was super. Wait time were decent (15 min) Big high five!
Nice place to spend a summer afternoon. They have socially distanced wine tasting, (outdoors). Masks were not required outdoors, except for staff. Good selection of wine. Lovely restaurant with shaded outdoor seating. The pizza is cooked in a wood-burning oven. The ingredients were so fresh. The chili sauce was SO good. I wanted to but some but unfortunately the store was sold out :(. I'll be back though!
We enjoyed our overall experience here with the wine tasting and patio. They have lovely self grown basil and other herbs on premise which they seem to also use on their pizza. We wanted to sit down but it was a 1.5h wait and thus we did takeout (which was only available via Margarita style which still took about 20 mins). There is one thing though that made me reduce the overall rating of this place - the staff arent attentive and don't understand how to deal with lineups of people. They basically feel burdened for having a line of people waiting to be seated. They need a better procedure to deal with holidays and weekends or better signage as to wait times and treating patronage with better overall service. We witnessed (didn't happen to us) a couple who waited an hour for their takeout also and wanted their money back. Their wood burning oven was amazing and gave the pizza a nice delicious flavour with a crispiness and slightly burned flavour (which is how it's supposed to be). The dough was slightly chewy in an almost tapioca flour way with an amazing texture. The pizza sauce was zesty with a pure tomato flavouring. The basil was deliciously fresh. I could have eaten 10 of these. The pizzas are small (7" or so) and thin crusted. Amazing pizza, long waits if you go on a weekend, decent wines (typical PEC wine selection), service could be better to patrons.
Awesome place. Solid setup. Would come back.
Delicious pizza which you can get to go, and enjoy anywhere on the grounds.
We loved the setting / wine /service/ and best pizza
The wine is good but a bit too pricy! But try their pizza!!! Worth the wait!!! Or just go there early!
Pretty place! Nicenpizza! Little expensive
Just some info that may save some time for people with different preferences: music is pretty loud - they really have those little speakers kind of cranked, apparently pushing their capability. So much so that it was grating and not an enjoyable experience. Anyway I get it - my wife and I aren't the target demographic - hopefully this helps those just looking for a pleasant relaxing atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Fortunately there are lots of other places in the county for that.
Food was so good we came back the following day before leaving PEC and finishing our trip. Would definitely recommend and would definitely revisit next time we’re back in the area.
Fun experience! Will be going back :)
It’s a beautiful place. We had the wine tasting, pay $10 and taste 4 wines. You can get the $10 back as discount if you purchase wine on their shop, so I believe it’s a good deal. The pizza was tasty, and the service was helpful. …
(Translated) Glass of very ordinary wine for a ridiculously high price. Very average pizza and once again detestable value for money. Service with a slingshot, the place runs at full speed, no time to deal with the customer's attention. A country-style fast food. There's a lot better around ...
The wine itself is great but they really need to work on their service especially when compared to a lot of the surrounding vineyards. I found most of the staff unfriendly and unenthusiastic, especially the person pouring our tasting. Perhaps it was just a busy weekend.
Have to use one star because zero is not an option. Hardie is a great self promotor. In fact, that's what he should focus on- teaching how to flog cheap pizza and even cheaper 'wine' at stupid prices. If I'm going to make the long drive out to a barn, the wine should taste half decent...and it didn't I've had $15 Pinot from California and it tastes like Pinot Keep plugging the dream gang because hype is all you'll find from Storming Norman.
Disappointing experience! The marketing hype does NOT match the experience. The eating area is basically in a garage and we were seated on high stools, ate over wine barrels overlooking the gravel parking lot. It was awkward to sit comfortably to say the least. Prices were ridiculously high for mediocre food and wine. We had two sandwiches made by Mattachioni (which they ran out of all the ingredients listed but they still charged us $15 each) and two glasses of NH wine ($18 each) and they force you to tip if paying by credit card. We are generous tippers but don't like to be forced. That was an expensive, underwhelming lunch! We are never going back.
Food was incredible and the wine tasting experience was very fun and intricate.
Amazing experience, excellent wine, professional staffs, delicious pizza. Among the different wineries we did, it was the best by far ! A must go !
Tucked in a corner, this place offers a great experience - from a nice little stroll in the wine yard to some great wine and wood fire pizzas. Memorable experience!
(Translated) Superb experience. We tasted their wine, then eat at the restaurant. Super organization. Beautiful rustic terrace, around the vineyard. I was transported to Europe for a moment. Everything was delicious. (Original) Superbe experience. Nous avons degusté leur vin, ensuite manger au restaurant. Super organisation. Belle terasse rustique, alentour du vignoble. Jai eté transporté en Europe pour un instant. Tout etait delicieux.
Delicious oven pizza and excellent wine. Waitress were very helpful with the menu and wine options.
Woodfire pizza and oysters were amazing! Staff was friendly. Even terrible, cold, windy, rainy weather didn't deter people from coming to eat outside on their patio
Amazing #wines ????, mouth watering #pizza, smoky #salmon and other delicous food wrapped in a peaceful atmosphere guided by a team of professionals!. . (Translated) Great experience every time! This time, * Luciano * made the wait for a table very pleasant! (At the point where the ???? wood-fired oven pizza became less important, I could have spent the afternoon enjoying and chatting with him!) Thank you for welcoming us with such open arms! (Original) Formidable expérience à chaque fois! Cette fois-ci, *Luciano* a rendu l'attente pour une tablée fort agréable! Really nice experience here and friendly service. Good place for a casual meal. The portions were big and the value was there. The smoked trout was excellent and fairly priced. Go for it.
Very good experience. People at the tasting room are very friendly and knowledgeable. Wines are good and affordable. Chardonnay, riesling and Pinot noir and Cabernet franc from both the county and from Niagara region on the menu. There's a pizza place downstairs with vegan options. I recommend.
We had an awesome visit. The wine tasting was very educational. Our host for the wine tasting made our day and experience memorable. We also ate the wood fire oven pizza, the oysters which were very delicious. We loved the experience so much, that we decided to go back a second time in the week.
The winery was a fantastic experience. The wine was exceptional quality, the food was excellent. All the staff were professional and an absolute delight. I would definitely recommend it.
If you want to live the true PEC experience, sharing a couple glasses of wine at Norman Hardie Winery is absolutely a must. We had an amazing experience: the view on the vineyard was beautiful, the service was excellent and the wine was perfect. I truly recommend that place.
We did a wine tasting with Lou, by far the best tasting experience you could ask for. After experiencing Niagara wineries and multiple PEC wineries he is bar none the best! His attention to detail in explaining the differences between all the wines was first class. The pizza and oysters were great! We will be back to see Lou.
Me and my group enjoyed a wine tasting at Norman Hardie. Our guide was fantastic, the wines were incredible. We’ll drop by again!
As noted.. they now have a wood fired pizza oven and a very nice patio where you can enjoy a bite and their wines. Plenty of parking. Staff is terrific - engaging, friendly, and helpful. They were happy to chat and answer everyone's questions - from entry level wine talk to the technical. Their wines were very good - not sure what the dissenting reviewer tried. He may have it confused with nearby RR.
Great atmosphere, great service, great wine and great food. Had the best experience today for lunch!
Amazing location, great wines, and great outdoor seating options. Good COVID-19 precautions. Pizza was very yummy too! Wines are on the expensive end but very nice
Awesome woodoven pizza, great patio!
Lovely pizza, great service...a "must visit" in the county!
Great wines, but not cheap. GREAT winery; really fun vibe, fresh made pizzas, patios everywhere. I would go back and spend more time there.
no thanks.
Excellent
Full disclosure: we did not have the pizza as the hostess was incompetent. We arrived at 1:40 PM and were told there was a 40 min wait. My husband stated clearly that we were hungry and asked if there was any food to have while we waited. She suggested the wine tasting and the biltong. This is what we did. When we approached the hostess after our 40 min wait she stated that there would be another unknown wait as there was 3 other tables ahead of us. At this point she also states that if we wanted we could order take out, but it would take 15 mins. This is where we concluded that she really had no common sense. My husband's initial comment when we had arrived was that we were hungry. If the hostess had any customer service skills at all, she should have advised us upon arrival: "if you wish to have service it'll take 40mins or longer, BUT if you're hungry you can order take out and have the pizza with your wine upstairs." Simple right? To complete the story; When we stated that we would not wait any longer and went on our way, we received a call from her advising our table was ready. My husband advised her we were the ones that told her we were leaving - to which she stated "oh sorry, I crossed off the wrong name.'" Geezus, this was the absolute worst example of service incompetence that I have ever experienced. Period.
Solid pinot noir and chardonnay.
Family Day Weekend. We just tried the freshly smoked on site salmon & trout. Melt in your mouth, wow! Nice option before the summer pizza patio is open again. This is the perfect time of year to check out their great wine and food before the high season hits! (But you will want to come back then too....) :) Mary Dawn
We went on a Monday so much quieter. We ate at the bar over looking the countryside, just dreamy. I had a nice glass of Calcaire and we shared a pizza which was also delish! We had a tasting with the most amazing person! He was so entertaining, knowledgable, and an absolute original! Wine was good but I hate to say it, my must buy here is the beef jerkey! Wow! As far as wines, I liked Reisling the best and I'm not even a white wine drinker! My only suggestion would be offering a self tasting option especially for busy days.
Wine might be OK bit no pizza, then said sandwiches. Then no bread for samdwiches. Ultimately not worth the visit due to their of being prepared for visitors. Wouldn't recommend it regardless of all the hype. Not impressed.
I think this winery was overhyped before going. We didn’t get to try any wine as we went while pregnant. When we got to the winery we were going to be seated right away on stools but decided to wait to be seated on chairs as we thought sitting on stools while pregnant would be uncomfortable, we were put on a waiting list for an available table. After waiting an hour we were seated at stools and told the hostess we waited so we didn’t have to sit on stools and she said there were no tables with chairs available and we’d have to wait again if we wanted chairs….. we ended up sitting on the stools and wasted an hour, they were very apologetic about the situation though…. Now to the food, the kale salad needed more dressing, both pizzas we ordered were good and its great that they offer gluten free crust. The prices are expensive, spent almost $80 for two pizzas and a salad with water to drink. The washrooms are near the kitchen and absolutely disgusting.
Awesome atmosphere and great PEC wines. Food coming out of the wood fired grill is fantastic.
Erica is the best waitress ever! If you don’t get her you lose
(Translated) Superb place, delicious food, if there is a wait don't hesitate to wait with a little tasting to pass the time, the smoked trout is a delight! (Original) Superbe place, nourriture délicieuse, si il y a de l’attente n’hésitez pas à attendre avec une petite dégustation pour passer le temps, la truite fumée est un délice !
The most amazing Pizza I have ever had !
Wines are awesome and pizza is FABULOUS. Busy place so try to avoid rush hours
A true gem. We had a fantastic time at the winery, the food is delicious and the wine is incredible. It was a great experience!
Place was beautiful, the wine tasting was great and the pizza was delicious. Staff and owner had the right personalities and made the guests feel like rock stars!!!
Best pizza outside of Italy- I know how ridiculous this sounds but this was the most amazing, thin, pizza. Setting on the farm, cute little pergolas set up so you can be distanced but not bake in the sun. Returned for takeout pizza and salad 2 days later for the drive home. 100 percent will go again
The best Neapolitan style pizza in a beautiful setting.
Always excellent service and pizzas! My kids said it's the best they've had.
Warm greetings from the host/server as soon as we approached the restaurant — service was impeccable. Restaurant staff were very attentive and friendly, they even brought a bowl of water for our dogs. Their pizza was very delicious. Staff upstairs was knowledgeable. All 7 tastings were good, we ended up buying 3/7 bottles. Overall, it was a good experience except for one female with short black hair who came off very rude and condescending.
Not impressed with the person looking after our wine tasting experience. His rude attitude left a bad taste, and bad impression, of the Norman Hardie Winery.
(Translated) We arrived by bike, we left by taxi :)! That says everything ! Received like royalty! What a great experience, excellent wines (cuvée 10 wow!) Pizza like in Italy, wood fire and fine dough. What about the staff, MC and Sam of the machines! we felt right at home, already looking forward to going back and bringing more friends. Thanks again to Norman Hardie and his amazing team!
Great place! We went on a day trip to PEC and stopped at Norman Hardie for wine tasting and lunch. They have decent number of wine selection and we ended up buying a few out of the lot. The pizzas were great. I am a vegetarian and had a lot of options to choose from. We had a great experience and would highly recommend this place :) Do visit for some fun filled day!!
Jody is the best!
Covid-19 precautions and set up for tastings are great but were disappointed with the wines. Settled on a bottle of the County Cab Franc as the others really didn’t stand out at all.
Delicious homemade, thin crust pizza. The best I have ever had in Canada. Absolute must try. The Margarita pizza is simply incredible. If you like spicy order the Piccante. Also, the table oil is very tasty. Enjoy the pencil hanging from the ceiling and play hangman. Bon appetit!
Wonderful ambiance, great wines and the best wood fired pizza in the county.
Perfect place to relax and spend a summer afternoon in PEC. We had some wine, pizza and oysters. Would definitely come again!
Great atmosphere with an Italian old world feel. Fabulous wood pizza - you won't want to share. Great restaurant servers. Only suggested improvement- the tasting room should offer clean glasses with each tasting or rinse glass before next sampling.
Top noch wines, to bad it was raining for eating outside.
Still the best wine experience in the region! Grazie Luciano!
Fantastic meal and great wine! 6 of us visited this weekend and we were very impressed. We ordered 5 different pizzas and each was delicious!!!!! The bowl of warm assorted olives was incredible and tomato salad. The only reason I'm not giving a 5* rating is because they forgot one of the pizzas for someone in our party, didnt seem to notice, and didnt even apologize when we brought it up. It was rectified by the manager and comped which is appreciated but our server didnt seem to be concerned. I would go back...Overall we had a great experience!
The exceptional wines alone are worth a visit; they are certainly some of the best in the region and among my favorite. Definitely go when they have the pizza.
Great visit at the winery. The staff was very helpful and made the experience even more enjoyable. We had four different kinds of pizza, all delicious. We also did the tasting and they have great products (we endend up buying a few bottles). Note: we where a group of 10 including four kids (all below 4 years old) and the staff went the extra mile to make sure we had a great time. It is definitely a place to go when your are in the region. I Highly recommend.
Worst place ever. 3 empty table, and they dont allow us to seat. sone waiting list???? After 30 minutes we eat on the grass and the table are still empty. 12 piza at average price of 20$. Without any place with shadow to eat.direct under the sun. Wait 45 minutes to get glass of wine. First review i post in 45 year of existence. They REALLY piss me off
Excellent wine, excellent food, and super friendly service!
Great staff and tasty wine
Delicious pizza ! Crust is awesome! Tomato salad is #1! Portion are little small . You sit inside the warehouse where the wine is stock
Slam the man for sure, but the vineyard and its wine are 5 star no doubt. Probably best wine in PEC and definitely best pizza in PEC.
Delicious pizza, good service
BEST PIZZA EVER. We had the dolce & piccante pizza and it was top notch. Their homemade piccante is incredible - we bought some to take home. The wines were delicious also, although we didn’t do a tasting and only had a couple of glasses each. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. Will return for sure.
(Translated) Beautiful area. Very friendly owner. The oysters are so good ???? the staff very friendly (Original) Très bel endroit. Propriétaire très sympathique. Les huîtres sont tellement bonnes ???? le personnel très sympathique
HORRIBLE!!! Did this as a spot on our tour, they did our entire table of 20 on one bill and told us to figure it out. I emailed in advance to ask about special menu options due to lactose intolerance, I had to wait for the entire table to eat pull the server aside and ask for the goat cheese pizza. when we went up stairs for our wine tasting they wanted to charge us $5 a tasting !!! I spoke to the manager she listened however there was nothing she could do to fix the horrible experience we had had. Would not recommend, the wine was not good or to my own personal liking, the lack of communication between servers and customers was horrible !!!
(Translated) Our best wineries experience made during our stay at Sandbanks. The divine pizza; the wine excellent; caring and funny employees. The winemaker even came to our table and spoke to us in French. I highly recommend.
We enjoyed the country experience. Great Canadian made wine. An amazing pizza ! 100$ for two people for 10 wines taesting + 2 pizzas + very nice salad ! No regret at all !
Despite being a super busy day when we went, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. Great wine, great pizza and a beautiful location. Norman even went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying our time there. Will definitely go back on my next wine tour :)
Great place! Wine, food, service - 5 plus stars!
Norman Hardie County Chardonnay is a beautiful wine !
Awesome place to enjoy and eat wood oven pizza. The server was so kind and nice. It was really great experience from here.
In reality , This is a wood-burning pizza eatery not a wine Experience. The locale is unappealing with Multiple cafeteria style tables alongside a gravel roadway. The staff are hurried , pretentious and unfriendly. Long lineups are for pizza definitely not the wine, which is mediocre at best. Overpriced and undervalued.
Interesting vines, one of the best in region. Highlight: chardonnay 2015
Awesome. Extremely knowledgeable staff and pizza smells delicious but just ate before. Bought a couple bottles of red so bring on the steak and duck
Lovely outdoor patio, dog friendly, awesome staff. Delicious pizza and wine!
Food, service, and particularly the wines are always top notch!
Meh. We arrived at 5. Waited for the host to come. He came over, rudely announced ‘we’re not seating anyone else! We’re closing early because it’s Thanksgiving!’ No apologies. No explanation, he just turned around and walked away. Nothing on the website stating they were closing early. We rode our bikes from Picton and made sure we were early enough. I get that it’s Thanksgiving, just update your website so the public knows. Nice little vineyard. Great looking restaurant. Can’t comment about the food. The reds are decent, the whites are nothing to write home about. The person who did the wine tasting was friendly, it’s too bad the host was so rude and he sets the first impression.
I visited 3 wineries and this was definitely my favorite winery. We had a wine tasting and our server was helpful and knowledgeable. We went back the next day for pizza and loved it, it was was better than any pizza I’ve had in Toronto in a long time! I just wish they also served coffee. The service was excellent and would recommend this place for a casual meal, accompanied with wine of course.
Outstanding firewood pizzas !! (Excellent wine, off course)
Beautiful scenery, great place to go during the summer. Nice staff. Pizza was ok, better than average.
Great lunch! Great wine.
Such a cool spot. Some of the best wine in the county. Can't say enough about the service we recieved. Freddy is an absolute gem. Super knowledgeable and so friendly. Made our trip to the county so enjoyable.
Great non "run of the mill" brick oven pizza. Wonderful wine pairings
Very good as usual. Nice piza, good wine. What else do you need for lunch.
We had a great experience in wine tasting at Norman Hardie. That's exactly what we were looking for in our experience: they have sommeliers on the wine tasting who are very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. Definitely coming back for more!
(Translated) We put a star because there is no lower. The service was poor, the music loud and not suited for a rural location. The prices were ridiculously high for a glass of wine and a small pizza with almost nothing on it. We were very disappointed with the place and there are others more elegant a little further. Very bad experience for us.
Trish is legit. Went today, had oysters on the patio with a glass of wine, the mignonette was unreal, 10/10. Then we went and did a tasting, Trish was our tasting associate, we had a great time, did a side by side comparison, she knew the wines and was able to speak to each. Friendly and engaging. Definitely will be back.
One of the highlights of our trip to Wellington. Chris was helping us and did a great job hosting us. We went home with a couple bottles - Check it out!!
Beautiful winery nice and open with tasting outside and in and very friendly knowledgeable staff. We bought a bottle of their Pinot Noir A very nice light bodied wine We did not have time to eat here but looked like a very nice spot to stop
(Translated) Had a wonderful time excellent wines the food wow! Thank you Luciano for tasting the girl who is firecracker ???????????? (Original) Passé un merveilleux moment vins excellent la bouffe wow! Merci Luciano pour la dégustation de la fille qui est firecracker ????????????

The pizza is everything! Definitely a must have in the PEC area.
Fantastic pizza and wine. Prices on the wine were a little high though.
Not sure why this place has been review-bombed but not my concern. Place had some surprisingly good wine, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a really great space in general. My only gripe was that the pizzas were too salty. Good toppings and great dough though. Easily fixable problem.
Great place to enjoy wine and pizza oven for lunch! The pizza coming out from the oven smells so good and the food are delicious. Especially the trout, the oysters and the funghi pizza, a must to try! The staff is nice too! Need to get there early to avoid waiting in line.
Terrible service, waited around for about an hour. It started raining so they closed the kitchen but did not tell us. Waited another 20 minutes before we asked someone and got info. I would not go here.
First time here and won't be the last. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Their pizza was absolutely awesome and their wine exquisite. Can't wait to come back with our friends.
(Translated) Excellent tasting with Luciano, memorable, to do again without mistakes (Original) Excellente dégustation avec Luciano.mémorable, a refaire sans fautes
Excellent wine and food!
Such a dreamy time eating this amazing pizza and tasting all of the delicious wines. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful despite it being the end of one of the busiest days of the year (harvest). The cabanas put in place for social distancing are so beautiful and romantic.
Amazing Pizza
Excellent wood oven pizza in a perfect outdoor setting, reasonably priced considering the area.
Arriving just prior to lunch , we were warmly greater by Mr Hardie and we seated immediately to a table overlooking the Vinyard and the beautiful rolling hills of picton county ont. Be assured that social distancing is well enforced and my family was at ease. We were served by a very knowledgeable and personable man named sam. His wine and food recommendations were spot on. Mr Hardie made sure to pass by every table multiple times during our wonderful afternoon to insure that all was to our liking and expectation. The pizza was one of the best we've had and the wine was excellent as expected. As the day was coming to an end we visited the store and bought some some of our favorite bottles to enjoy at home. Do not hesitate to make this trip as you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended !!!!
This place is dog-friendly. It’s enough for me to give it five stars. Cheers! ????
Great place to go on a summer date! The wood fire pizzas are amazing and try it with a glass of their 2016 county chardonnay! The staff were very helpful and nice :)
Good products, but we had a very disappointing experience. Ordered 3 pizzas, had to wait for over 35 minutes and to follow up three times before pizzas appeared. We had asked and discussed several times to just proof the pizza so we can make them at home. They specifically said and we asked that pizzas are not cut. Guess what, after such a long wait we had 3 half cooked pizzas cut. Made a mess in our oven and all the cheese melted and dripped in the oven. Ruined the whole thing. Very disappointed. Our intent was to support the area, never again!
Lovely place but on a sunny day please put those umbrellas up! We asked to have the umbrella at our table raised and we were told if they put up ours then they would need to put up all of them and it takes forever.... so the answer is no. Friendly staff but bad answer! Would have given a better rating had they been more accommodating.
I absolutely recommend Norman Hardie for its wine, views, and pizza! While visiting Prince Edward County, my family and I stopped by twice during our stay & hope to return in the future. The funghi pizza was our personal favourite & the trout is a must try. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating! Overall, we loved visiting and dining here. Couldn’t recommend it enough
Try the wood fired pizza for an outdoor treat. Do a wine tasting. Norman himself is often there to chat with the guests. Wines are delicious.
Lovely place, nice atmosphere. Staff is lovely and they make y ou feel right at home. Such a lovely place

Pizza excellent the parking and ordering a bit confusing
Definitely one of the least interesting most touristy wineries in PEC, not worth it when there’s so much better
The best pizza in the county. Excellent wine.
Wonderful, open air, vineyard. Some may be disgruntled by the potential long wait at the restaurant and choose to take off, but there’s quite a bit to do if you have to wait: walk through the extensive sculpture display, throw down amazingly fresh/succulent/chilled oysters, take beautiful pictures by the plethora of towering sunflowers, taste wonderful wines, watch the groundskeepers tend to the vines and learn a thing or two about why they’re doing what they do, stock up on the “grape juice” in the store, have a conversation with one of friendly staff regarding how this place evolved and...eat some of the best pizza I’ve had outside of Italy. Truly delicious and impressive all around. I would only recommend to creat more shaded spots at various areas to insure comfort on a warm day. We can’t wait to come back!
Best wines in the County, amazing pizza and very attentive staff. Luciano was very attentive staff member who is extremely knowledgeable about all the wines. Fantastic play list over the sound system made the afternoon perfect. A must in Prince Edward County.
Great wine, great pizza, great oysters.
