Oh pinot noir is so deliciously rich in cherry flavors...

Jay Fitzsimmons

We visited about 8 different vineyards/wineries in Prince Edward County and Long Dog was by far our favourite. Not only was the wine amazing but the owner was super friendly and the atmosphere was great. Other wineries we visited were crowded, loud and there was no one to really give you info about the wines. But we were the only ones there on a Friday afternoon and it was such a great experience. We were able to try as many wines as we wanted for free if we bought 2 bottles and we ended up buying 4 bottles.

Tasty wine, scenic location and very friendly folks. Can't ask for more! A local winery worth supporting.

Among the County's best wines and the owner is a gem of man

Yodaman Solo

Very disappointed with the service here. The owner was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. He did not explain anything about the wines, and I felt like he just wanted us out of there as quick as possible. Overall, poor experience and I don’t think I’ll be back :(

Anna Celebanska

We visited Long Dog Vineyard & Winery with friends; did the tasting and i bought Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, loved them both. Very friendly and good service.

Max Charp

Overall a wondrerful experience. The Pinot Noir is simply amazing here! The owner was friendly, even welcomed our 2 dogs inside and gave them treats. Worth the visit for the best wine in PEC.

Mara Cole

Small winery in PEC, good wines but the lady attending was not friendly at all.

Manuel P

Very nice Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, a low key, friendly and informative tasting room right next to the vines

stopped in on a lovely bike ride through the county but was criticized by taste host on our choice of accommodations and dining location chosen later in the week...It certainly did not make us want to buy any wine. IN fact, it put such a sour taste in our mouth that we would not recommend to anyone to visit this spot...Hosts like this should learn not to pass judgement on tourists that help keep these operations in business...just sayin'...

Worst experience in the County. No interest in explaining anything about the wines and very rude in their interactions. I would skip.

Good wine, lots of dachshund paraphernalia

One of the best Pinot Noir in the county. The woman attending was very unengaging, the tasting experience left a lot to be desired.

Greg Kokjian

I visit this winery many times and it is one of my favourite wine locations in PEC. I love the chardonnay bella bella, it is one of the best in the county and worth the visit. It is a very small winery, not one for massive groups but the place is original and the owner is genuine.

Rachel

Great setup and ambience in their tasting room. An assortment of quality wines. Touching story on the origins of the name. The red sparkling wine is awesome! Highly recommend a visit. ????????

Jacques Reid

Beautiful spot with a hilarious and charming dachshund theme in their tasting room. Delicious wine and engaging owner/vintners. Do not miss out. Visit Long Dog.

Yunfei Z

This small winery has some very good wines, and the owners are lovely. Worth your time and money!

Andrea Filiatrault

Long Dog is probably one of the most secluded winery in the county, but also probably the best! Highly recommended if you want to avoid the crowded commercial wineries. Try the Pinot noir and the Gamay! OH and it's dog friendly ;)

Evgeniya Tertyshnaya

Great sparkling Gamay and beautiful Chardonnay. Cute rustic atmosphere. Not pretentious.

We stopped to do some wine tasting. The lady wasn’t friendly at all. She didn’t make us feel welcome and we didn’t enjoy the experience. Very little was explained about the wine, but the wines were good. Overall it wasn't enjoyable and we wouldn’t recommend it.

J M

One of the best wineries that we visited in PEC. Get their Chardonnay!

Worst experience over a 10 wineries trip. The owner wasn't sympathic at all, she didn't seem to like her job.. The experience remind me the expression "A Man Without a Smiling Face Must Not Open a Shop" There is enough wineries in the area to avoid that one!

Unwelcoming owner, was not engaging at all.Did not explain anything about the wine. My partner and I spent over 100$ and we had to share a cup for tasting. The wine was good, which is why I gave 2 stars. Unenjoyable experience overall.

Court Curry

The guy's a great character! And he's very proud to use 100% local grapes, not diluting his wines with Niagara grapes like most other Prince Edward County vineyards do. "Why would I - my stuff is better!"

Roz Mugford

(Translated) No access to a toilet, really minimal quantity of wine to drip, the owner is not friendly. We still tasted the 8 kinds of wine. Compared to the other wineries we visited this was our worst experience.

Amazing find in PEC. We had their Pinot at Blumen and had to buy a bottle (or more like 6). Delicious wine and probably our favorite in PEC - especially considering they use all their own grapes (which we learned is not common here and a lot are just imported grapes). The confidence in their product may be taken as 'snooty attitude' as some reviews seem to say, but they just know they have good wine and we couldn't agree more.

I was really excited about this place. Upon entry, myself and one girlfriend started purchasing bottles before tasting as we came specifically for this winery's chards. We were then promptly asked to leave. Apparently the owner, male, was uncomfortable with photos being taken on the grassy pathway by the other 4 people in our party, and interpreted this as drunkenness. We were then asked to leave immediately. As we are all industry servers and chefs, this is not the way to handle a situation. It's unfortunate. Can not comment on wines or service while tasting as we were not afforded the opportunity.

David Yeung

Fabulous wines and awesome people.

Horrible service. Rude winemaker and incredibly disrespectful. Over charged us so we respectfully asked for the correct charge. The wine maker slammed the money back on the table and scoffed at us. Wine maker seems like he hates his life and wine in general. Zero hospitality skills.

Jef Mallory

Nice small winery and highly recommend if you like dogs/have a dog.

Melanie Aumont

(Translated) Probably the best Oaked Chardonnay in the PEC area. The oak flavor is present. The place is friendly, isolated, good choice of wine to enjoy. I remove 1 star because the white wine was too hot and there was a lot of fruit fly, including in the bottle and finally in our glasses.

The owner was very snooty. Not friendly. People in the parking lot were saying the same thing.

In my opinion, Long Dog Winery makes the best Pinot Noirs and the best Chardonnays in Prince Edward County. Hands down. They also make a fantastic sparkling Gamay. You'll likely meet Victoria in the tasting room and if you're lucky, James will be around to pull the curtain back on how these incredible wines are made. This is a true County experience, where the wine and the beautiful farm speak for itself. Truly my favourite winery in all of PEC.

Sheila Bowers

Unfriendly staff. Guy behind the counter made it very clear to us (and everyone else in earshot) he was not interested in taking care of our organized group of 11 people, which was arranged a few weeks prior to our arrival. Kicked us all outside on this old deck and eventually brought out the wines, with no time or care given to us. Was impatient and made us all "share" glasses. Wines were decent... nice looking quaint establishment.

Shira

Wonderful pinot noir.

I have detoured to visit this winery a few times and was never disappointed. Owner is knowledgeable and proud of his wines and terroir, and thus willing to chat about both with people who show interest. I prefer when it is quiet so I can engage in discussing winemaking in the county, an opportunity only available in small wineries. I am not sure what the reviewers giving zero or one star expect, but I’d much rather discuss with the owner who is authentic than with a salesperson.
