Delicious experience here! Ordered the bison ragu to start & finished with the special they had for the evening which was bison in 3 formats (short rib, steak and sausage) on a bed of mashed potato with greens (bok choy & asparagus). Eating on the upper patio was such a dream as you get a beautiful view of the mountains around you. Staff was all incredibly kind and informative as well when it came to questions about the food & drink :) 10/10 would do it again!!

Our server Chris was amazing (and he was new). He was very hospitable, kind and had great recommendations for food. The food was great! Absolutely loved the bison trio with polenta and the lychee cocktail. The elk tartar was a bit underwhelming as the chip that was served with it seemed insubstantial. Overall a delicious menu! We were visiting from Toronto and had a lovely evening thanks our server Chris! ????????

Everyone was very friendly and kind. I love that everything is made from local ingredients, it tasted absolutely scrumptious! I’d definitely recommend. We shared the mushroom as an appetizer and had our own steak suppers. I had the beef and my partner the bison ribeye and all was cooked perfectly with greens and creative yummy potato sides.

The Bison is a lovely restaurant. The food is fresh, beautifully plated and made with care. I had the salmon eggs Benedict - absolutely delicious. They had a live singer, who sang Christmas songs as she played guitar. We were so relaxed and the feeling of Christmas was in the air. Lovely ambiance, with high ceilings, big windows and greenery. This space feels like a perfect representation of Banff's feel - natural, open, fresh, and wild.

We loved their Bison player, specially the ribeye in it. Very moist and delicious. The shrimp item was alright. Drinks menu was interesting. It’s expensive but a great experience. Few minutes walk from our stay at Downtown Banff. We had reservations so we got our table shortly after reaching there. Friendly staff, beautiful ambiance. Definitely recommend.

My partner and I had the most perfect dinner on Saturday night and can only offer praise for The Bison. The service staff were incredible but the pesto pasta with garlic crumble was the absolute highlight! Highly recommend!

Would return. This is a strong contender for top 20 for me. The menu is concentrated, farm to table, local and focused on what they do well: meats and accompanying dishes. Service is excellent. While we were tempted to try a multitude of dishes, we opted for the trio. A meaty board of ribeye, shortrib and sausage. The meats were all cooked perfectly - tender and flavourful. Well seasoned and sitting upon a buttery, creamy bed of polenta, which soaks the meat gravy and juice conveniently. The chimichurri was fresh and delicious, cutting through the beefiness and balancing the juicy steak. It is a large platter for just two people, so recommend taking it for 3 or 4 plus some sides.

I was in town for a conference and the locals recommended The Bison. The service was good, drinks were great, and the Bison platter for two was excellent. It came with Bison cooked 3 ways: short ribs, sausages, and steak; along with triple fried fries and wonderful charred brussel sprouts. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal!

My wife and I had dinner here. The food was great, the service was excellent. There was a musician who was playing guitar and singing as well, she was great. The atmosphere was cozy. We did make reservations to come here. We would eat here again.

Atmosphere: Chic modern with open concept kitchen. Food: 5/5 - The beet salad, bison short ribs and chocolate cake are a must! Solid drinks as well. Ordered the apple sour and Caesar. Service: 5/5 - Attentive staff and quick service. Highly recommend if you're visiting Banff. Prices are high but totally worth it.

OMG, best place on planet earth ( or Banff at least ) for breakfast, Food was incredible, service was perfect and had live really good music. Was there a few years ago and happy to see the place is still awesome. Haven't had dinner there yet but looking forward too it. This is a place you MUST go to if you're in Banff.

Our favorite restaurant in Banff! The food is always amazing, however, it is on the pricier side. But when you are looking to treat yourself in Banff, this is a great place to have dinner! Great staff, great views, great food! Couldn't ask for more!

Ok! So this place was soooooo good! I took a corporate group and everyone loved it. They have loved of options for a preselected menu! Highly highly recommend. The restaurant is really well decorated too! Very good drinks!

Came here for our anniversary dinner. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived despite reservations. The patio was warm with the heat lamps. Great ambiance and view. The service was great as well, very friendly server. Whether you are a meat eater or vegetarian, the food was delicious. We had the beet salad and wood fried zucchini to start, the rigatoni and bison ribeye as mains, and shared the chocolate cake (if you love chocolate, highly recommend, so good). The cocktails, although a bit pricey, were pretty good too.

Great food here! I made a reservation weeks prior to my arrival in the Banff area. Good thing I did, cause there was super long wait times for people who tried to do a walk in to the restaurant - approx 1.5-2 hours. I absolutely loved the vibe of the restaurant and the customer service and the food! Food was fantastic and tasted really good. We ordered the 3 bison platter- AMAZING. It’s a open concept kitchen as well, so you’re able to see the chef putting their hard work on each order. This is a highly recommended restaurant to visit if you’re in the Banff area!

Absolutely fantastic. I have no single but. The service, the food, the space, the decor, the dinnerware, ... You can breathe attention to detail in every single aspect. The best food, by far, I have had in the area. We went there for dinner the first night almost by accident, and so happy we did. We had to repeat the next day. Everything was delicious. We decided to try a few smaller dishes so we got to taste a range of flavours and they were all delicious and fantastic. The combination of flavours, the quality of the product,... Simply delicious. And we did not go for the Bison trio, which is what these guys are know for. Can anticipate that only being absolutely fantastic. Will have to try. Want to also highlight how great the service is. Super correct, great product knowledge. All superb! In case it wasn't clear, totally recommended!

One of the best dining experience I've had in Banff to date! The atmosphere, the staff and the food were all magnificent. It was a little loud because there was a big group behind us .. and we were also a big group but I was glad they were able to accommodate us. The service was very efficient and our waiter was great. He catered to all our needs and was super friendly. The food came quickly for a big group like ours. I enjoyed the bison ragu and ricotta dumplings and also the albacore crudo.. but man oh man, the highlight for me was the bison trio. The short ribs were super tender, the sausages had lots of flavour and the bison steak was excellent. I will definite recommend this place to anyone I know visiting Banff and I will surely be returning.

Amazing experience all around. The food is amazing, the staff are great, the patio is top 10 for sure and the management is so helpful. We had a big group and wanted to be on the patio, but can't make a reso for the patio. The manager helped us move our time to accommodate, so very helpful for our celebration dinner. We now finally have our favourite restaurant in Banff! Went here for 2 consecutive dinners-which was a first for me and my partner as we normally do not go to the same restaurant two nights running. The food was divine! Atmosphere and service was great! Our server Liz was spectacular which is one of the biggest factors we decided to go back. Highly recommend!!!

Every dish was elevated. I think it was the best beet salad I've ever had. Drinks were great. We chose Bison don 3 different ways on a bed of polenta with veggies. Delicious. Servers were very attentive.

Pricey like all Banff restaurants but the quality of the dishes we ordered was tremendous. My wife lived the flavor profile of the beet salad and found the portion size just right for a lighter meal. I had the Bison Ragu and it was rich and delicious with perfectly done mini dumplings. Our cocktails were very well made and went perfectly with the food. We found the quality to be worth the wait to get in and the price.

My husband and I treated ourselves to a night out in Banff and picked The Bison for dinner. Service and food were excellent. We had their feature menu which was an assortment of bison cuts such as steak, short ribs and sausage on a bed of polenta with bokchoy and asparagus. My husband didn't care for the short ribs or the bokchoy but he was raving about everything else. He is a very stingy person when it comes to compliments so I take that as a win. Was it pricey? Yes. Was it worth it? Definitely. Would I go again? Double yes. P.S. The photos don't do it justice.

One of the best meals we have ever had. Got the roasted squash for starter and Bison for main, both cooked to perfection, so tasty and just the right amount. Waiter (Steve) was extremely knowledgeable and the atmosphere was so cozy. On a cold December winter day in Banff this was the perfect place to be.

I always wondered why such high reviews. Today, we finally had a chance to reserve a table. Amazing staff, great menu and fantastic taste! Jenny helped us and made our evening extra special. She suggested the trio which was perfectly enough for two. About the taste, we wanted to try it all and we did. It came with bison sausages, short rib and steak with some roasted squash. So good! Next visit to Banff will include the same order for sure.

Good food and good cocktails. The upper floor patio is very nice. There was live music when we visited for dinner around 6ish on a Thursday night. We had the bison trio, everything about it except for the sausage was great. The sausages were decent but not really a highlight.

great place overall. Cocktails are well prepared with all the attention to details. Food is delicious, we had the bison platter and salads, the steak was perfectly cooked and juicy. The day we went there was live music inside, making even more amazing the experience in the restaurant. I give 4 stars because the service was very slow that day, despite having a reservation we waited about one hour to get a table, maybe that's not normal but it's disappointing when you are hungry

Had a lovely evening on the patio with great service. We had the bison platter (bison 3 different ways) and were salivating as soon as we saw it - absolutely delicious! Super filling for 2 people. Great selection of wines as well!

Tried their Elk tartare and it was out of this world! So good that a second order was placed soon after. Even my partner who does not eat raw meat enjoyed it, and that says a lot. We both ordered the 12 Oz Bison steak as our mains and though she was having a hard time finishing her steak, I was more than happy to eat the remaining 8 Oz or so she left on her plate. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting for anyone that hasn't been during their stay in Banff. Will be back to try their duck for the main on our next visit.
