I've been really hammered here and partied hard to live music with lots of friends. I have many great memories of being told to go home, or pay my tab, or stop dancing on the pool table. Whatever, this place was always fun. One of the longest standing establishments in Banff. Nice patio in the summer and great apres-ski vibe in the winter.

We come here every time we’re in Banff and have never been disappointed. My mom, my two kids and myself stopped by for lunch yesterday as she was craving the fish and chips. Our server was incredible. He was fast, efficient and had us laughing the entire time. The food was delicious, my kids said the Mac n Cheese was the best they ever had! Butter best part was when he finished up our visit with a magic trick for the kids. Thanks again!

Service was slow when there was only about 4 tables occupied, took sometime to get our drinks and food menu. $20 dollars for a burger is pricey compared to the city, but after all it is Banff!

Pretty cozy spot to eat, didn't have the patience (10mins) to wait for the rooftop patio. Lots of renovations going on. Pizza was pretty good. Enjoyed it more once it cool down actually. Steak sandwich was enjoyable for my misses. Wings were good 8/10.

The food was delicious and the outdoor patio was awesome in the middle of Banff townsite. The day was absolutely gorgeous and the fresh mountain air made things enjoyable.... the pizza I had was delicious and the other menu items my family had were beyond expectations... excellent job and kudos to the Rose and Crown culinary staff.

Good starters and good beers! Service could be a little bit faster especially in June when there are not a lot of customers. Lovely view on the cascade mountain when the biking store next to the seating area remove its tent.

Definitely a must-go on your next trip to Banff. We visited this location twice in one day. For lunch, the food was delicious, the honey chicken wings, wow! The staff were extremely friendly and their rooftop patio is just perfect. The views of the mountains cannot be beat. At night, the live music was extremely fun. Not to mention that Rose & Crown has some of the best drink specials I had seen in all of Downtown Banff. Very affordable. We are glad we chose this bar in our bar crawl. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Cheers!

Great pub. Large with lots of seating options with views of Banff. Food came fast, was hot, fresh, good portioned and delicious. I had the Cascade burger with a ceasar. Guy near us ordered the fish and chips. That looked good too. Service was excellent and prices reasonable for Banff.

Decent food with great daily specials. We went on a half price bottle of wine day which was awesome. The serving staff was lovely. Our food was fresh and delicious, no problems with any of our orders. Lots of space that can accommodate large groups.

I appreciate that they check vaccinations and ensure masks are being worn when not at your table. My very first time at this location and our server was wonderful. Not only did we have quick service and good food, but he was very friendly and professional! After finding out we were visiting the area he advised us of their live music in the evenings daily and that he was off that next night as well and would also be there for the music. After gaining knowledge of the LIVE Music, we decided to check it out the next evening... that's when what I would've originally rated the Rose & Crown location on Banff Ave changed from a 10/10 to a 2/10... When we arrived in the evening, the guy at the front checked our vaccines and advised us to sit anywhere we'd like. We had waited 37mins before anyone approached or acknowledged us. The LIVE Music had not yet started but was testing out the mics. We not only were there to enjoy a few drinks and music, but to have a bite to eat. There were two floor servers on shift on our side of tables, both had stood and walked right next to us a total of 6 times before we had walked up to the bar and grabbed a drink (he was prompt).. after again multiple times being passed by and being unacknowledged by the floor servers my partner called over one of the servers and asked who's section we were in and explained that we had to go up to the bar (even after telling the bartender that we had been waiting and no one came up to us). That night two people had their phones stolen and one spiked. I recommend keeping a close eye on your belongings if you'd like to check this place out in the evenings. As noted below the music was amazing but there service was not. The only service we had that was good was at noon the day before, when it was quiet, which was a completely different staff. LIVE Music: 10/10 Food: 8/10 Staff & Service: 2/10 Safety/Security: 2/10 Unfortunately after this experience, neither of us will be back.

My wife and I dipped in here for a quick bite to eat. The plan was to have a couple drinks, some light pub food, then head back to our camp site, our bellies full and happy. A good way to end a pretty easy going birthday for her. The fact the bar was nearly empty when everything else had a 45+ minute wait should have been a warning. Undeterred, we ordered our drinks, and our food. The drinks were fine, a bit pricy for the service we had received to this point for such an empty establishment, but as for the drinks themselves, they were fine. We ordered food, and set about waiting. Once the food arrived we were promptly ignored for the rest of the experience. The chicken tenders were, at best "okay" and were more breading than actual chicken. The fries were a little bland, something salt and pepper, maybe even vinegar would have solved. If our waitress had come by. But my wife's fish and chips? Easily the most bland and tastely excuse for fish I have ever seen or tried. I'm not even convinced what she got was actually fish. Now, we would have voiced the concerns, but an empty pair of drinks and some half eaten food (my wife couldn't even finish the "fish", it completely ruined her appetite), later, and finally our waitress showed up again. Not a "how was it" or "everything good" but a prompt clearing of our dishes and a question if we were ready for the bill. To insult to injury, someone here thinks that the minimum tip the staff and food are worth is 18%. 10% for what we got was a little too generous still if you ask me. This place ruined my wife's birthday night, and if you are looking for an honest review and recommendation? Wait the 45 minutes somewhere else, the food will at least be palatable and the service might even be considered such.

Literally the only place in town you’ll be able to get any food from past 9pm. It’s pub food but it’s better than no food. Banff is having a terrible problem with short staff and all restaurants are closing very early and are always packed to walk in, so make sure you book something in advance to have a decent meal for dinner or you’re going to end up here. They have live music and it’s fun if that’s what you’re looking for. But it’s frustrating when you’re tired of walking around to find food and that’s basically what you end up with. The place smells like cigarettes and is very loud but food is decent.

A must stop for the best French Onion Soup I've ever had! The pork buttons & beef wellingtons appetizers were also right up at the top! The Classic Ceasar was the best we had in town complete with a pickled green bean! Our waiter was amazing, informative & helpful not only about the restaurant but the town as well. This is the oldest restaurant in Banff & well worth a visit!

One of the best fish and chips you’ll ever eat. They use Pollock, which in my opinion is the best fish for battered fish. The batter itself is super crisp. The size is HUGE too; 1 piece will fill up most people. You can add more fish pieces at $4 each. The fries had a super thin batter to them as well, adding to the flavor.

We have visited the Rose and Crown on numerous occasions over the last several years. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food is always good. Fish and chips are very good but it is the poutine I want to highlight. It is the best poutine I have had west of Québec City. Squeaky curds, crispy chips and the gravy is not too heavy. Highly recommended. Oh, I will also say I miss the liver and onions that used to be on your menu.

The rooftop patio has amazing views and the service was excellent. The Caesar salad which we shared was large and very good. The steak sandwich was terrible and so tough I could hardly chew it. My husband had fish and chips which were overcooked and way more batter than fish. On both our meals the best thing was the fries and they weren’t that great. The food would have to improve a lot before we would come back.

Well reviewing other Caesar’s around town we stumbled across the collossal Caesar at Rose & Crown which is hands down the best Caesar. All starts with a very friendly staff very welcoming as I ordered the Ceaser I did order a drink to start. As the Caesar was walking over everybody in the bar stopped to stare, the presentation is out of this world not just a presentation the taste the food and the Caesar we’re next level highly recommend this and the service strong five star I wish we could do six!! Go see Roxy!

Came here twice in a week because the vibe was really tight. First time with a bachelorette party - I'd asked for a patio table but my reservation was put on the second floor, which turned out to be better because it was right beside the live music and we were with a dancey bunch. Really fun night! Watch out for the mosquitos upstairs, they're gruesome! Fortunately the bartender very helpfully offered some bug spray! Came again another night and it was also a good time, surprisingly modest prices for a Banff bar. Would recommend to anyone looking for an upbeat Saturday night.
