Great local beer (with other options as well!) and a wonderful, laid back and casual environment. My choice place to grab a beer and poutine after a day of hiking around Banff! Menu has a ton of options of great food- everything from burgers and French fries to salads.

We only had 2 dishes, but I am very happy to give this place 5 stars. The nachos were absolutely fantastic. They were loaded to the point that there were still a bunch of toppings on the plate when the chips were gone. My only slight criticism would be that there was very little chicken, even though we paid an extra $6 for it. The mango chipotle rub wings were, by far, the very best wings I have ever had. Seriously. They are spiced, seasoned, and cooked perfectly. Phenomenal!!! We couldn't get enough of them! I hope I can come back just for the wings!!

Amazing food. The best flavoured beer I've ever had in my life, it was a coconut pale ale I believe. Also had an elk sausage, very very good. If you're staying in Banff, you need to eat here for at least one meal.

Try smooth operator beer; fish and chips are great too. On Thursday you get a large glass (twice the pint) almost for the price of the pint. There is no waiting line. You can simply walk in.

Tried this place out recently, would probably not be back. The service was decent, and the food came out fast, so I’ll give them that, but that’s about it. I was not impressed with the food at all. I ordered the mango chipotle wings and they were absolutely awful, I couldn't even finish them as they were EXTREMELY salty, inedible in my opinion. The smoked mozzarella arancini lacked any flavour and the onion rings were again overly salty. Found this place overpriced, there are better options in Banff.

My burger had about a 1/4 cup of mustard on it and so that's all I tasted. My wife fried chicken was tasteless. This place use to be our favorite spot in Banff but unfortunately we will need to find a new place to go from now on. On the upside the server's are very friendly.

Entrance wasn't clearly marked. Was there with my wife and daughter. Server showed up before I even sat down.. of course we weren't ready.. then it took forever for server to come back. Ordered the Bison burger and 2 buffalo chicken burgers. Asked for 1 chicken burger to be plain with ranch on the side.. it had everything on it.... I asked for gravy with my Bison burger... I had to wait for it because they forgot it... was expecting alot more for the price was like a frozen burger patty from costco...both the wife and daughter didnt get through half there burger... dry dry dry... This place makes a dive bar food look good...

My wife and I had dinner on their outdoor balcony on a nice summer's day, and it was great. The food was good and the service was nice, albeit a tab bit slow. We liked their beer selection and the people watching down below was exceptional.

Great place to escape while you wait out the shoppers. One of the best flavored poutines around. Don't sit by the balcony door as most of the clientele do not know how to shut doors.

Great food and a decent cocktail menu (especially for a brewery). Wanted to stick around to try a beer or two but had to run. Looks like they have a good happy hour menu on Fridays and a late night menu too. Nice view over the main street on a nice day. The nachos for one were delicious with the perfect amount of toppings. Wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Good experience with massive size portions. No complaints — the burgers, steak sandwich and poutine were all great. Patio can be a bit cramped but also gets nice views and access to some good sun on nice day. The rest of the restaurant has loads of space too. Some nice merch and gear too!

I really liked the decorations and look of the brewery, and the food and beer was really good. It also has a cool view. I got the wings, and they were very crispy and the portion size was nice, and the fries with bison chili were great as well. If I lived in the area, I would probably be a regular.

Was expecting something much better but sadly, pretty disappointed. Went here for lunch with a family of four and started with the pretzel bread which came to our table piping hot but, that lasted about 40 seconds then it turned into a rock. Clearly, it was microwaved. Ordered the bison burger and was expecting the patty to be something a little more “home made” but it ended up being a pre-made frozen then cooked patty which barely resembled meat when you looked at it. Taste was okay at best. The other food ordered was the steak sandwich with a poutine and it was cooked okay and a spicy chicken sandwich. Everything was average tasting including the beer so if you’re looking for something that resembles a home cooked or authentic meal, this doesn’t appear to be the place to go. Nice place but not somewhere we’ll be heading back to any time soon.

If you like crispy chicken sandwiches with hot sauce and delicious bread along side a refreshing beer this is the place for you. Pub fare from pot pies to burgers. Variety of beer options. Summer menu now out including a gruit, gose and mead mojito. We sat on the bar side with a view of a tv to watch the Jays game. Service was good and quick. Located upstairs next to a pizza place.

All in all, the food was okay and it was a good experience with the level of service. Our friends; however (no pictures) were not impressed with their food. The soup of the day was a tortilla soup which essentially was canned tomatoes and beans, with a few nacho chips on top. I tried it and ... It was very disappointing. The poutine also was very mediocre. The salt and pepper wings plus the Caesar salad was pretty good. Very crunchy wings. Overall, I’m not sure I would make a point of returning to eat here.

We chose this place from the reviews, and I think 4.2 is underrated and I'm going it give it 5 stars! What a great place! They don't take reservations, so be prepared to wait up to one hour for a table, but this is normal for Banff restaurants and worth the wait here. The waitress was really friendly, the restaurant is kid friendly with a great kids menu. It has a buzzing atmosphere. Was fun watching adults play on the pool tables, TVs showing Canadian sports. The food was delicious! We ordered nachos after reading reviews about them and they were so good. Both vegetarian and meat nachos were great. Good beers and the Ontario cab-merlot red wine was great. This is definitely worth a dinner when staying in Banff.

The Pretzel was awesome as an appetizer, I strongly recommend it. I also had the brew burger with a fried egg and it was excellent. The quality of the egg was very high, and the burger was tasty. The service speed was the only thing lacking, other than that, I really enjoyed my visit.

Great vibes, good music. We had Ally (brown top knot) as a server tonight and she was genuine and nice. Gave us good chat and recommendations. She was a legend, even after I told her that my mule was too limey. We had a great night. We will come back for sure.

We went there on Aug 13 for dinner. This was our first time there. It was ok. The food was average and the beer well i was hoping for some tasty beer. It was average. I' ve tried lots if the micro breweries in Alberta and this one was just average. Service was good food was slow getting our meal.

I went in a Sunday night for some local beer and tradicional bar food I was not disappointed. Great beer selection on the tap from they brewery I definitely recommend the White IPA. From the food menu I ordered a Poutine, which was excellent, and their version of the Sheppard’s Pie, with Elk meat which was delicious. Friendly staff and nice place for friends and large groups.

We waited for 15mins and waiting memory was not very good. Host seems too busy and we need to wait few minutes to put our name in waiting list. But our server, Eric was very friendly and nice. I told him what kind of beer that I like and he recommended exact what I love!! Every beer in sampler was so wonderful. Salt and pepper wings also very crispy and delicious!

I am back here after 6 months or so. Dont know what happened with this place or the chef changed, maybe ? The quality of food is just down the drain. This is brewery and meant to have good beers. However, the beers felt watered down. Did not enjoy the time here. Would not come back. The temp outside was 37 C and this place does not have the Air conditioner.

Excellent location (especially the 2nd floor deck that overlooks Banff Ave), beer and food were okay/decent, but portions were tiny, especially for the prices paid (even when considering the fact that this is in Banff, so everything's going to be more expensive). We got the following: - Fish & Chips (only came with 2 small pieces, which was suprisingly little given the price, but was at least tasty, and came with a decent amount of fries) - Steak Sandwich (again, small-ish portions, but menu does tell you it's 6 oz. Didn't care for the garlic aioli, but that's a personal preference) - Linguine Bolognese (probably the most medicore out of the 3, and also the most disappointing in terms of portion size. Plate was only half filled and was "finished in 5 bites") We also got two beers, Ride or Dry and Blonde Ale. No one in our group are beer afficianados so we can't say how "good" the beer is, but we did overall enjoy them. We had no issues with the service. If you're COVID-sensitive, none of the staff were wearing masks, but that appears to be the standard in town.

Amazing experience! We came on Saturday at the end of September, we were underquoted for the wait time but looking around you could see everywhere was busier then expected!! Staff at the door were lovely and it was worth the wait! We came for drinks and a late night bite, love the option for affordable late snacks! Our server was amazing, very knowledgeable and we really appreciated her taking the time to help us decide on a hike to do in the area!! Thank you!!

Ate here twice in one day it was that good. You sit wherever you want and this contributes to the relaxed and comfortable vibe in the Resturant. Food was tasty and well priced. I had the lamb shank which was delicious, soft and tender with complex but not overpowering sauce that added to the meal. The beers are all good, the Schwartz pilsner was my favourite. ???? Staff were on the button but not overbearing. A great experience that I would have no reservations to recommend.

We used the Online order and delivery service. What we got was ........ Delicious food, reasonable prices, delivered to our hotel room at the exact time we requested and all the food was hot and fresh. They included plenty of utensils and napkins for easy in room dining. We will for sure order from here again next time we are in Banff.

Wish I had stayed and eaten here instead of my bad experience at nourish. The music was great! They take covid seriously and my moms fish & chips special were sooo good and so much food for $12. Thoroughly enjoyed! We wanted a taster flight but we're having trouble deciding. Server recommended 2 for the full line up and it was perfect! We had that with onion rings and calamari. Loved both! The calamari had an extra crunch; thinking corn meal? And the dip with the onion rings was great! Try the Blackberry beer, the porter and the 50 Shades of Earl Grey for a unique Beer experience!

Banff's oldest brewery is a great family friendly pub. Right on Banff Ave just keep an eye out for the stairs to take you up. No elevator that I could see so unfortunately not good for people who would find stairs and/or dimmer lighting difficult to navigate. Decent pricing on food and drinks. Good covid safety protocols/spacing in place. They use QR code menus and contact tracing questionnaires (fill out upon entry). The host probably could have saved everyone in line some time by letting them know to fill out the contact tracking Q/A while they were waiting verses waiting to get to the front and then scanning and completing the questionnaire once they get to the front. Just a couple other QR code placements along the window or at the top of the stairs could make this quicker. The place overall has comfortable yet still fun pub vibe throughout. Not snooty or pretentious in anyway. I'm sure this place will be packed again once this pandemic ends. Check it out while you can before the line ups start queuing longer again. If you're on a date, or day out with your best bud, the cute balcony seating facing Banff Ave is perfect to drink, people watch and chat the hours away. It's a great balcony but suitable only for smaller groups as it's bar style seating only (side by side facing out). No worries if you are with family or a bigger group of people there are lots of tables and booths inside. Food was good, hot and not expensive. Beers were delicious. I tried their Blood Orange IPA promo special this time. Their monthly special gives a portion of the proceeds to a charity, this one goes to our Alberta first responders. Last but also most importantly waiter service was spot on and friendly! So nice to see the big smiles back on their faces... go check them out I'm sure they'll be glad to see you.

Made on premise beer is best and when it is made on Banff Ave in the home of the National Parks System it is just that much better. Food is just as fresh as the beer and they have a lot of creative cocktails also made with local spirits. The best of Alberta in the best place in Alberta.

Awesome spot! Was able to grab lunch here today with my parents from out of town. They enjoyed the local brews and had some outstanding plates of food. I’m dairy and gluten free so I’m hard to deal with when it comes to ordering. But they have great gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options and not to mention great gluten free beer. Serving staff was very friendly, provided amazing hospitality and created conversation making you feel at home. Our server today was wonderful and the brewery should be thrilled to have her! Kitchen staff knocked it out of the park and had our food out fast, served hot and tasted excellent. 4.7 out of 5

A must stop if you are new to Banff and like beer! We’ve been to Banff three times now and Banff Ave Brewing has established itself as a staple during our annual trip to the area. The brewery has a great selection of beers and the place is pretty chill and never crowded (at least in the February month). The food is pretty good with a selection of burgers and sandwiches as wells as poutine which is delicious. I’ve ordered a burger and the chicken sandwich and they were both very good. We’ll certainly be back soon!!!

We ordered food delivery from a third party for our family of three while we are visiting on a ski vacation. The food that arrived was all exceptional except for one small mistake....one burger showed up almost raw. This was obviously a matter of picking the wrong burger from the grill for our order because it was so under cooked. The amazing part of our experience was when we called to have the situation rectified and we connected with Lukasz. Lukasz did not even question the situation as others do but quickly moved to rectify our situation on a busy Friday night with a restaurant full of other patrons. He expedited a new meal, contacted the delivery company and added a complementary order of calamari even though we were not looking for anything extra. I'm not sure who Lukasz reports to but take notice because Lukasz cares about your business! Thank you so much. Calamari was a 10!

Best beer selection in town, personable servers, featuring a menu with decent variety and good size entree items. If you’re coming on a weekend late night expect the space to be busy and somewhat loud. Patio seating is limited and so is the view but is still a great spot!

Would have given 5 stars if based on past experiences here. Always had amazing service in the past and appeared everyone worked together. Went here the other day and it seemed the only one running around and doing work was our server (tall guy with glasses, didn’t remember to catch his name). He was doing super awesome. Saw him serving and making drinks while a lot of the other staff just stood around chatting. Made it a very mediocre experience and don’t really have the desire to return again.

The beer was good. The tasting pack (flight?) was shockingly good. There was not a bad beer to be had, although some were obviously better than others. Try the cheesy pretzels. They're super good. The outside porch is quite nice and the heated lamps really make it wonderful.

mediocre food, poor service, good beer. Quality of food is not worth the money. We ordered a poutine, nacho's, and the soft pretzels. Our poutine was served in a warm bowl but the gravy was stone cold and the fries were barely warm. We sent it back. They microwaved it, moved it to a different bowl, and sent it back. The nacho's were also microwaved but served over a piece of parchment paper in a 5lb cold cast iron pan. The pretzels were just OK, we weren't a fan of the cheese sauce or the mustard they were served with. I ordered a flight of 6 beer samples, I was only able to finish 4 but the ones I did try were very good. The service was awful! There really is nothing more to say about it. I'd drop in to grab some beer to go but wont be staying for any food services.

We have been at Banff for a week now. And so far we have met excellent service and delicious food and friendly people. But today we accidentally walked into this pub. From the very entrance, we were told twice that we must treat our hands with a sanitizer. This alarmed. Then the waitress Anna came up to us and asked in a rather rude manner if we knew how to use the QR code. And again she pointed to the sanitizer and hands. We ordered Gin-Erita (gin + tecquila cocktail) later she brought a soft drink that just flopped onto the table. Obviously she didn't like something about us and she began to discuss us with other waiters on the sidelines, pointing at us. Our waiter has changed. A tall guy with glasses, we have no particular complaints about him. But we waited 45 minutes for the ordered food. And the last thing that alarmed us, one of the restaurant employees began to photograph the table where we were sitting. We asked to explain what was going on, she said she was just taking pictures. We don't know why we didn't like it so much, but the service in this restaurant turned out to be terrible.

Terrible service. Server came by after being there for 5 minutes and without even a "hello" said we're out of wings and nachos and walked away quickly. Than another 10 minutes go by and he hadn't returned so we were getting up to leave, and he walked over and still no "hello" said you guys want drinks I said ok I guess we can stay now that we're getting service. His response was "you don't have to stay if you don't want" I said pardon? And he said "you can just go if you want" we obviously left at that point. Won't be back.

Decent food for delivery; 3 stars because we asked for 2 simple requests (cut the burger in half and Bacon on the side for the ceasar) and neither was done. Funniest part is that they left us the chit which prints out in the kitchen (that has the orders and special instructions on it) and it clearly has the requests we asked for; they just didn't do it.

Staff was friendly! The food took a little longer to come out than expected (but maybe we were really hungry). Portions are a good size and filling. Some of the food is a bit on the saltier side. All in all, a great place to eat. I really appreciated the bottle of hand sanitizer on the table. We could wipe the table, our phones, everything beforehand. Great way to stay safe during covid!

It's a alright burger, nothing special tbh and it'll fill your stomach after a hike. I did find it was lacking on the sauce. It also had a small amount of sauteed mushrooms and the "thick cut" bacon was actually very thing so I wouldn't recommend getting any add-ons. The server was nice though so I'll give him that.

Really cool vibes, had the fish and chips, super good! The waitress accidentally charged us 35$ over from the table before us which wasn't great, but we got that fixed up. We learned to always check your bill!

We chose this restaurant as someone on google had raved about the wings. We were greeted with very safe covid rules to follow and a chance to leave an email in case of a possible positive case. The customer service was good. The menu had diversity, but we were disappointed to hear that pizzas were not available before 17h pm... it was 16h45 and thought they could have maybe made an exception as it was 15 min before. We ordered the nachos and chicken wings. The nachos were delicious, but we were charged 3$ extra for another small amount of sour cream. The wings were nothing spectacular, we were not impressed. They managed to mix up all 3 orders of ours. I am sure they have good beers but we didn't have a chance to enjoy one.

Went there to try out the bison burger for 19$. Good, bit too much ketchup and mustard. Strangely, but a portion of Caesar (4$) is less expensive than some fancy blackberry lager (8,8($). And sorry, guys, but you don’t know how to prepare onions and batter for deep fried onion rings.

Awesome place to go for a quick bite after a long hike. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was phenomenal. Never thought I'd say this, but it was actually the bread they use that brought that dish over the top. I was at the bar on a Wednesday evening. The service was nothing short of spectacular. If a manager happens to see this review, PLEASE tell the bartender that night that I highly appreciate her going above and beyond. I was there Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at approximately 9:00PM.

Best brewery in town! A nice selection of home made beer with fantastic flavors! Staff is super friendly here and the atmosphere is simply perfect for a brew. You don't know what brew you want? No problemo, you can ask to sample their beers before you make a choice. Where else would they do that? They also have a nice selection of beer to take home in cans or growlers. Highly recommend!

Oh, I've missed you guys. The last 2x I was here in-service dining was closed due to COVID, which was a great disappointment as one of our regular places whenever in town. For excellent service with some of the best craft beer in Alberta, tasty pub food and now some fantastic pizza it's always worth a visit.

Awesome food and beer! Great location! The service was excellent and very personable. The wings were in the top I’ve ever had, juicy and perfectly seasoned. We had a very minor issue which was quickly resolved by management. Highly recommended.

Well-rounded burger - beefy patty, fresh toppings, appropriate amount of tasty sauces, & a bun that holds its own. Onion rings are excellent & plentiful (worth the substitution!). Genuinely friendly service makes for a great Banff experience (5/5).

Had a well priced Mt. Rundle Stout. On Monday's it's 4.75 for an 18oz. The stout was creamy and dark, full of flavor, a little stronger than a Guinness, with a little more depth of flavor, yet still very drinkable. Absolutely destroys the St. James Pub charging 10 bucks for a 12 ounce.

Never written a bad review until now. What an awful place with awful treatment of their customers.. it’s a shame because there is a few decent beers available but I’d recommend buying a case and taking it to go before the staff and manager have a chance to disrespect you. I see lots of other reviews that seem to show similar problems that we had with the staff. There is lots of better options in Banff so stay clear of this one.

The restaurant was fine and the service was good but the food was just ok and pretty pricey (it is Banff, after all). Beer was fine. The atmosphere was kind of weird, it was pretty dark and most of the patrons looked tired and unhappy. I guess this is a popular place for people to eat after a long day of tourism?

Banff has its own craft brewing company and it is actually quite good. The beer sampler nets you 6 x 6 oz tasters nearly completing their available range. Ate some snacks, nachos and poutine which were both really good. Overall, it was chill, not too loud, good service, and really glad we stopped by - would go again.

The environment was great, the staff were proactive and somewhat urgent. Unfortunately the food was rather horrible. The Buffalo chicken sandwich and the calamari was I dare to say the worst style of the food I have tasted. I would probably give it a 2 and 1 respectfully out of 10. The sandwich was drenched in hot sauce and the calamari was over cooked, dry, peculiar tasting and certainly did not taste like seafood.
