Great wines with the tasting room set up in a converted barn. The staff were super friendly and the automatic wine dispenser is a cool feature that allows you to really taste at your own pace.

This was our first stop as part of our Guided Winery Tour our of Halifax, NS last year that we took. It was part of our Winery tour day, and so Winery #1. Planter's Ridge Winery. Lovely wines and folks. Wendy, our tour guide was both friendly and very informative. Having been involved in the US Wine Industry for 35+ years prior to retiring with the original founding and development of Virginia's largest winery as EVP, CFO & Treasurer, I can see there is nothing but good things happening here with Canada's Wineries of Nova Scotia. Here Here we raise our glasses to you!

Stopped by after visiting Grand Pre and Halls Harbour. Sampled a couple of their whites as well as sparkling mead (which I hadn't seen before). Everything was excellent. Spoke with John, the owner, and he was very friendly and seems to really enjoy his craft! Brought home a bottle of the sparkling mead and we can't wait to have that again. The views from the deck are also very beautiful. So, I recommend stopping off and having a glass of wine or two on the deck while enjoying the scenery. A perfect way to spend time in NS!

Nice winery. $5 seems a lot for the wine tasting. Would be nice have the money rebated if you bought 2 or more bottles of wine.

Small friendly winery, tried 2 whites and a red, all first rate. Riesling was a good as I've tasted elsewhere. Great Tasting room in a century barn. I'll be returning for sure.

I am a local wedding planner & designer and I recently had the pleasure of hosting a wedding and a wedding styled shoot at Planters Ridge Winery and it was the perfect venue!! When searching for a venue, I reached out to and visited many venues around the province, Planters Ridge was by far the most responsive and welcoming! Joanne, their Events coordinator was a dream to work with! She made sure to keep us in the loop with the constant changes due to COVID-19 and handled everything with professionalism! She was with us every step of the way and worked sooo hard! The food presentation was absolutely beautiful, the wine was delicious, the staff was extremely friendly and the property was absolutely stunning!!! Everything you could dream of for a wedding venue! I can't wait to plan & design more events at Planters Ridge in the future! I would absolutely recommend Planters Ridge for a wedding venue, or to just stop in, enjoy the views, and drink some delicious wine!

Quality of service at the halifax market was mediocre. Staff member was not adequately knowledgeable in the product that was of interest. When queried about the specific product by basic questions, staff member proceeded to mislead customer by providing answers that were factually inaccurate.

I visited with my family over the weekend and left feeling quite disappointed. The staff were unwelcoming and made us feel like we were an inconvenience to them. None of the staff paid any attention to us - we were not asked if we wanted to have a tasting, or asked what we were looking for or if we could use some help. My mom made purchases but when we left, we wished we didn't because the service was that poor. It was too bad because the property and facilities are beautiful. The wine selection was also excellent. We definitely would have spent more money if the staff were more kind, open and inviting.

Visited last Sunday. Would loved to have stayed longer and do plan to return in summer. We enjoyed the mix of the quiet surrounding and noisemakers and high-tech scarecrows to frighten birds away from the plants. DO NOT MISS OUT on this great, super clean winery. Most importantly the greatest Chocolate Wine.

Great spot in the valley. A beautiful setting for an excellent winery. Planters Ridge has a stable of consistently solid classic NS wines and aren't afraid to branch out to cider and mead.

We came here today and there was a wedding. Staff barely said a word to us and seemed disinterested in us all together. If you are going to remain open during a wedding make sure you treat every customer like they are important. Every person who walks through the door is a potential return customer. Unfortunately we won't be.

I got a wonderful experience! I'm a big fan of wine and we got a lady from France who spent a good hour explaining us the NS' wines and grappes! Very very knowledgeable???? it is, so far, my best experience at a winery! Highly recommand that place!

Lovely setting in a traditional barn converted to a spectacular tasting and restaurant area. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with our Valentine vist and selections. The wines were paired with a delicious charcuterie board and chocolate board. I am looking forward to another visit when we are able. P.S. Port Williams is like a painting on a Victorian Christmas card. A truly stunning setting.

Wendy greeted us and helped us with our wine sampling. She was so friendly and very knowledgeable! They have hair facility in a beautifully renovated 160 year old barn that has a patio addition that over looks one of their vineyards. It’s absolutely breath taking. We had the white and red sampling. We had a few favourites but all the wines were excellent. We also sampled a rummed cider that was delicious.

Excellent winery. Met the owner John, who genuinely loves his craft and what he does. The products at all amazing and great care is taken in all elements of the business. Their Sparking Mead is wonderfully refreshing and unique. The Rum Cider is a blend of local product and flavors. Excellent!!!

Terrible service, the waiter forgot about us on the patio. Also there was no description of the wines that she gave us. Also the one lady working there was super rude and snapped at us and a family who had their dog on the patio.

Enjoyed the view, the wine and the smaller scale of Planters Ridge compared to other valley vineyards. While the winery is much more modest than the other bigger name wineries, the wine was better and service was very good. Particularly, they served a very good red, which is not as common for the area. Would recommend this hidden gem.

Gorgeous winery on a beautiful estate. The wines were good and we really enjoyed the option of tasting the wines through the enomatic wine dispenser. They had some delicious White Point oysters as well!
