Cute winery, looks bigger that it is (exceptionally tall building). Staff are quite pleasant, even when being swamped with crowds. Bathrooms are inadequate - there were easily 100+ people in the main tasting/store area, and they have 3 bathroom stalls for women. One for family. No idea what the men have. The women's always had a lineup out the bathroom entrance and wrapped around the corner. So if you have a weak bladder or control issues, boogie to the bathroom asap! Free parking, no idea about wifi, and the winery appears to be dog-friendly (lots out walking).

Beautiful variety of estate wines and I recommend sparkling wine, by far the best in Niagara-on-the-Lake. (Original) Très beau vignoble avec une très belle et grande boutique. Sur la terrasse on peut faire un très original accord pizza-vin avec un four en pierres pour la cuisson des pizzas. The Hare presents very well. The building is amazing with a nice little courtyard in the middle. While this looks great, it can be sometimes confusing to first-time visitors as to where the tasting room is. But pay attention to the signs and you'll find your way there. The wine is great. The same winemaker (Alex Kolundzic) makes the wine for The Hare as well as Pillitteri Estates. That said, there aren't any repeats. Both places have distinct tastes. Also, it should be noted that this winemaker has won Ontario Red wine of the Year at least twice. I strongly suggest the Jack Rabbit White for a nice, easy going summer blend to sip on that won't break the bank. Also, a must try is the Frontier Chardonnay. A very welcomed surprise and right up there with some of the best new world chardonnays. The merchandise here is also really nice. My girlfriend has purchased a great quality toque, a shirt, and a bottle stopper. The logo and marketing of the brand is fantastic and lends itself very well to clothing and craft-style wine products. The Hare has become a regular stop for me when I venture back home to Niagara to stock up on wines.

Beautiful and very new (opened Oct-ish 2016) winery, the building is beautiful and even though still under construction you can see the potential. The wines we tasted were very nice and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly.

Been to Niagara on the lake half a dozen times. Worst wine sampling experience. Everyone on our tour commented how small sample of wine served, barely enough to taste. Beautiful location.

Phenomenal customer service, and apropos knowledge for retail staff to converse with wine industry professionals. Only down-side is the forced tasting fee of $5 without the purchase of a bottle, whereas industry standard is a typical discount.

Roadtrip. Freshly built winery out of the bricks from an old factory in Detroit. Modern castle with an old spirit. We visited 3 wineries in Niagara Falls region and these guys had the one we liked the most. Man at the counter provided us with all bunch of fun information, shown tasting room and was very nice overall. Wineries is an unique business and require personal approach to each customer. The Hare Wine Co. is a great example of a business and personal approach. Good luck to you guys!

"Summary: Beautiful place with good wines and helpful tasting staff! Very easy to get to and made for a nice quick stop after lunch. Wine: All very good wines! Some sweet, some dry as to be expected from this area! All that we tasted were very good. It was difficult to decide which ones (of the ones we tasted) we would purchase. Ambiance/View: Love the building and the grounds! Reclaimed brick from Detroit is used in the exterior of the building, and the interior is beautiful stucco and what looks like reclaimed wood. Warm colors and very inviting. The patio outside is fantastic too! It overlooks the vines and has plenty of seating. Beautiful exterior and interior accents and a great vibe. Only cons are the highway right out front takes away from the peace a bit, as do the “bangers” sounding like gunshots (to keep the birds away). Education: The tasting room staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the wines and quick to share information about what we were drinking. Jeremy, our bartender, also shared on the history of the winery, which is always a plus in my book. Plus John, the owner stopped by and shook our hands, which was nice. And though we didn’t take a tour (this stop was a bit impromptu), it looked like there were some tours going on, if you’re into that sort of thing."

My wife and I just got married at The Hare Wine Co. They were able to accommodate our wedding in a manner that everyone felt extremely safe given the pandemic circumstances. They were also very considerate of our decisions, gave us plenty of time to decide, and gave us many options to reschedule if we needed to. Beyond that, we had the most amazing experience getting married in the beautiful courtyard and working with the event coordinator Alex, who always seemed to be in the right place at the right time when we needed her. The wine tasted great, and the feedback from our guests was overwhelmingly positive as the atmosphere was perfect for our small wedding. I was visiting the Neob Lavender field across this vineyard and just walked in on seeing this magnificent place. They welcomed us with a warm attitude, despite us not having reservations in these Covid times. I enjoyed sampling wines and their cheese board had some of the best cheese I have had so far. Their staff is very kind. Their property has a rustic feel, had a look at their wine cellar and wedding/party room. The patio looks like it's is newly done and we enjoyed a peaceful afternoon there. Will definitely visit again !

This is a very beautiful building and place they have here. It is a great place to visit and in my opinion they have some of the best wines in the area. Jack rabbit white is a BUY, and the red is good too. It's less pretentious than the other better known places, but it is one of the reasons I like it even more. Good wine and fair price, what more can I say.

My husband and I had our wedding at The Hare this past summer. The winery itself is beautiful - we had our reception in the courtyard and with the help of our wedding designer, the space was incredible. Could not have dreamt of something more perfect! Because of the pandemic, my husband and I had a long engagement. As a result, we worked with three different event coordinators at The Hare. I completely understand that there can be staff turnover when you plan an event so far in advance. That is not under the winery's control. However, there were a lot of holes in communication between the event coordinators, permanent changes made by the venue without our knowledge, and ultimately we had to stand up for ourselves and the contract that my husband and I originally signed. We were also told three days before the wedding that the event coordinator we were working with would not be present at the wedding. The individual they assigned/hired to help with the wedding left before our reception started. Overall the winery is beautiful and the wedding was amazing. I hope the experience for couples improves as The Hare has more opportunities to host larger events.

Such a beautiful winery on the strip. They’re quite new, but you wouldn’t guess that with the beautiful rustic aesthetic they’ve gone for. The bottle shop is decorated with some carefully preserved family heirlooms that the owner inherited. The tastings were conducted in a nice courtyard inside the building. So cozy and away from the street, you’ll almost forget where you are. Between the 2 of us there, we tasted about 8 wines. The reds here were my favourite. Well balanced and easy drinking medium bodied ones. The ice wines were delicious too. Liked the Cabernet Franc one more than the Vidal! Their staff is very welcoming and well trained!

Very pleasant setting. Two award winning wines (Red and Cab Franc Icewine) publicized. Excellent tasting suggestion from Jennie for Jack Rabbit Red with cheese and crackers: her attention to customer needs & service was very good! Spouse and I enjoyed a sitting for two in the spacious, airy hall at a table which was assembled on an upturned wine barrel <-- this is charming, but watch out for (1) challenge for less nimble folks to climb up onto "bar style" seats and (2) table top can tumble off the barrel! That is why I give a 4/5 stars. (Plus I'm a picky customer :) Have signed up for the Hare mailings and will be back to sample other wines and enjoy the vibe there in other seasons.

???????? A nice winery to visit during your Niagara wine tour. Main building has a nice open-air courtyard to host events. Some staff are good others not so great. The owner was amazing, if you get a chance to meet him then you'll be in for a pleasant chat learning the origins of the name and the little nuances of what makes his winery unique. The winery closes a bit early during the week, would be nice to have it open for a little longer, even push the opening hours to later since most people have to drive anyways and won't arrive before 10 am.

Came for a wine tasting in early March as part of a very small tour group (4 of us total). We were limited to 4 samples and were not permitted to select which wines we tasted. We were poured 3 very similar tasting whites and 1 rosé, none of which tasted particularly high quality or mature enough.

Came here August 2021, wine tastings are $15 for four wines (including late harvest and ice wines), unfortunately the fee is not waived if you buy. The ice wines are delicious (as they always are), and my partner and I really enjoyed the Cabernet Franc Late Harvest and Riesling Late Harvest. This is a five year old winery and they've done a nice job using reclaimed material to give things a rustic feel. There is a courtyard with some tables, plus a patio, and indoor seating for tastings as well.

Amazing customer service is just least I can say about this place. I’ve been to so many wineries that don’t offer a welcoming ambiance and this place is just that. From the moment I walked into Hare and met John he treated me and my family like his family and just showed us what he was passionate about. It’s easy to understand why this place is different. Not just great wines but customer service. This was fall last year. Since then I have also ordered online and a box of wine is shipped out and comes within 24 hours which is Amazing! Amazing experience, a beautiful winery and a very delightful staff. My girlfriend and I went around Niagara on the Lake for the day visiting some of the wineries we haven't been to, and of the 5 we visited Charlie was hands down the best service we received. We ended up walking out with a bottle of Riesling which we both really enjoyed, but more memorable than the wines was the service, Charlie was knowledgeable about the winery and the surrounding area, as well as the wines in production and he was just hilarious and delightful to deal with. Truly superb experience, I implore anyone in the area to visit if not for the wines, then atleast to grace yourself with the opportunity of meeting Charlie.

Beautiful little winery with lovely wines and an interesting history. Geri, our guide, was informative, personable, and fun. We went as part of a bachelorette wine tour (google “Niagara Wine Tour Guides + bachelorette” if that piqued your interest) and this was our first stop. In their VIP room we had a meat and cheese platter while we tasted three wines (Red, White , and Rosé ) as well as an ice wine. Throughout the tasting Geri tolds us about the history of the land, and the winery, their wines, and, of course, pairings for the wines we sampled. When we arrived it was revealed that there had been a mix up with reservations and we were unexpected, but the staff handled everything with aplomb. Picked up the “Jack Pack” upon Geri’s recommendation and shared it with friends. Will definitely be back for the Jack Rabbit White and Rosé!

Beautiful winery with the most rustic vibes! The Hare Wine Co offers two tastings - $10 for 3 samples of Jack Rabbit series (sauv blanc, rosé and some sort of red) or $15 for 4 samples of the premiere series. We did the $10 tasting as we know nothing about wine and Charlie, our host, was very kind and informative about the different wines. He made us feel okay about not knowing much about wines or even not enjoying some of the wine. He cracked some great dad jokes and even gave us recommendations at other wineries and restaurants. He was the highlight of the tasting! White - didn't taste like much, not overly sweet if you're into that. Rosé - surprisingly my favourite, a tad sweeter but had more flavour Red - my least favourite, got dryer as I kept drinking, also quite acidic in my opinion

Amiee was amazing!! She explained all the wines very well and was super helpful and attentive! She's an asset! The setting is rustic, open aired, very spacious with high tables scattered through the large space. The wines were amazing! Our favorites were the two whites, Frolic and the Jack Rabbit, beautifully refreshing and drinkable! I'm not usually a white wine fan but I bought 4 bottles, it was that good! This is not one of the huge names in Niagara wine country but it should be. Don't miss this on your tour!

....stumbled upon The Hare Wine Co. and our way into NOTL. What an experience! The architecture of this gem made you feel as though you were entering your nona's villa in Tuscany. We had the absolute pleasure of doing some tastings with JEREMY, who informed us that he had only been doing "this" for a few weeks, but he had the class and education of a seasoned sommelier. We were travelling with a 1 year old and offered her some organic honey...such a nice touch. In my opinion, the wines sat more on the drier side (both red and white alike) but it didn't stop us for walking away with a few (including their $120 red).....this is worth the stop for sure. We will definitely be back!

I was visiting the Neob Lavender field across this vineyard and just walked in on seeing this magnificent place. They welcomed us with a warm attitude, despite us not having reservations in these Covid times. I enjoyed sampling wines and their cheese board had some of the best cheese I have had so far. Their staff is very kind. Their property has a rustic feel, had a look at their wine cellar and wedding/party room. The patio looks like it's is newly done and we enjoyed a peaceful afternoon there. Will definitely visit again !

I went for a wine tasting experience with my husband and we couldn’t have had a better time! Emily took time to discuss the different wines we were tasting and the pairings with different cheeses and charcuterie. She was knowledgeable, friendly and was able to make us to relate to the different wines and food pairings (we love trying different wines, but are in no way connoisseurs!). It was truly enjoyable and we left with a couple of bottles of wines, and cheese and chocolate to pair with it! What a great experience, thank you Emily :)

Our first stop of our winery weekend and we started it off right. Hard to top the genuine attentiveness of the staff as well as the beautiful industrial style indoors. The winery is somewhat new open two yrs but hats off to some amazing wine. Good prices between 18 to 120 dollar bottles as well really good ice wines and even a cabernet franc ice wine which we would highly recommend. Not found in lcbos so would high recommend to do the full tasting and stock up while u can.

The Hare was the most special winery we went to out of 6 today. From the beginning the venue is so gorgeous - perfect mix of indoor and outdoor everything is so spacious and elegant. The patio is in completely in the shade, yay!. MAUREEN is the server you should absolutely ask for - the best service we've had in NOLK. All the wines are top quality and you will not be disappointed. Definitely coming back here :)
