Lots of great wines to sample, and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. The wine is excellent, but the price tag shows it.
Not cheap wine .. but very good! Its your ability to have Ontario's version of Amarone (just a well refined, sweeter wine with fig, jam, flavours). Its easy to miss the location - they need a bit better signage, but the atmosphere is quaint, staff is welcoming and just cross your fingers they have open and serving a few of the better bottles when you're there.
This is one of my favorite wineries. The staff is friendly and informative and wine are delicious and complex.
Went on a Friday afternoon and had an amazing experience - it was a little hard to find but once we got in the tasting room it was awesome! Such a rustic and unique set up with amazing wine. The employee there, Andrew, was seriously amazing explaining the different wine making methods and recommending wines to try. He was so great to tak to and we left in such a good mood! PS. Their rosé is amazing!
It was the moose on the sign that got us in the door but they were fantastic. Took time explaining their wines, and answered all kind of questions. They carry some higher end wines but watch which day you go if you'll looking for tastings. They only do certain days.
Superb wine and outstanding customer service! Every visit is something special.
It was a neat place with solid italian style reds done apesimento style. Great conversations as well, come learn about this neat style of wine not done very often in Ontario.
Awesome!! A hidden gem, we absolutely loved it. Delicious wines. We can't wait to go back
Absolutely fantastic. We did a tasting with Tim and he was awsome, very informative. We joined club!!
Excellent wines, especially their reds with the appassimento method. Some of their wines are high end and more expensive than other wineries but worth every penny. Very friendly and knowledgable staff, not snobby or condescending like other wineries I’ve been too. Highly recommend.
Really like it. The reds are some of the best in the region.
Always amazing!
Visit multiple times a year and always find a new favourite
Very good and interesting wines (appacimento blends). 2nd visit in 2 years, never disappointed.
Favorite winery in the Niagara region especially if you're a fan of a good solid red. Done in the old Italian style you can't beat rack dried grapes.
Love this place, if you enjoy BIG red wines, this is the place. Don't be put off by the prices, the wines are worth it
Great service. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Awesome place, wonderful hospitality. The wine is very good. Thank you Susan for this amazing experience and to got to know you a little. I recommend this winery!
It was fantastic that we had a wine guide to walk us through the tasting process step by step. This was one of our first winery outings and you made it feel very special. Real glasses, personal attention, detailed explanations, covers for the glasses, I can't say enough good things. I will definitely return and we have been telling everyone we met about the great time we had at your winery. Thank you.
We received Foreign Affair wine as a gift - lovely wine for sharing with special people, beautifully packaged, and a special note inside. Thank you for introducing us to your vineyard!
Great atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Dan was great and really knew his wines. Best of all, great wines. Highly recommend.
Excellent tastings paired with great service that made us feel comfortable during these Covid times. Highly recommend a visit by booking a tasting to get the scoop on this history of this winery.
OMG. Get the whiskey Barrell aged cab sauv. You will die.
Great experiance
Okay....okay. what's up people. So here's the thing. You come to Niagara and you know the big names. Tawse, Two sisters, etc. But, because of that, you sometimes miss a hidden gem. That's what I'd call foreign affair winery. Let's start here. I don't do wine. I'm a scotch guy. My wife is wine all day... Thus why I'm in this region currently. So, Matt he works at foreign. Matt by the way is exactly the type of person you want to see at a winery. Cool, well informed, relatable, real dude. So I tried this whiskey casket wine. Let me explain. I don't like wine. I don't buy what I don't like. So tell me why I bought a bottle. And it wasn't a cheaper wine. That's how good it is. I don't like wine but I loved that wine so much, I bought one. Plus the atmosphere, the vibe. Yeah definitely go here. And ask for Matt. Lol.
Awesome spot. Great wine!!
Knowledgeable and friendly
Great full bodied wines, fun branding, Megan was awesome in sharing product knowledge and made the tasting experience.

This winery has some of the best reds in the region. Full bodied, intense, well balanced, absolutely lovely :) Moreover, they do the best Amarone style wines in the region hands down. The people are always friendly and helpful and the property is gorgeous.
First time here and very impressed. Nice blend of nice affordable and awesome upper end wines. Will return.
Amazing hospitality! Really nice experience tasting in the winery. Michael who guided us to the tasting was a rock star!!
Great winery, even among so many contenders! Megan was friendly and helpful to our family as we tasted, sharing stories and wine wisdom. She's very knowledgeable. Beautiful venue with outdoor seating and a nice big moose to greet you!
me and my husband's first time and we had a great experience. Meaghan was sweet and very informative. loved the decor in the tasting room. The seated wine tasting was a nice touch...didn't feel rushed. Excellent wine!!
Great tasting, Ed was great, he sure knows his stuff.
Took my husband here on his birthday for a wine tasting. Mike was absolutely wonderful. Such a kind hearted and sincere person. We walked in for our reservation with pre-poured tasters that we chose prior to our visit. They also had a small birthday card waiting for my husband on the table which was a nice personal touch. They have such wonderful reds! We landed on the Apologetic Red as our favorite. We will visit again!

Great service and selection
Great spot; a large tasting room with very knowledgeable staff! Will definitely return.
Amazing experience! Will definitely return. Did the wine tasting with the snack box for 2. Was just enough to satisfy for a light lunch.
Enjoyed the tasting, of course a few bottles home
Amazing red wines and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend.
Beautiful and quite place where you can taste the foreign affair wine. When I've been there there are lots of people, it was crowded at the bar. Good red wine.
Not your typical winery - more of a boutique feel but worth the visit. Staff is knowledgeable and the wines are fantastic. Absolutely must try their appassimento wines (similar to Amarone) like the Gran Q - it's pricey but oh so good!
Fantastic wine, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would highly recommend stopping here!
Wonderful tour and tasting experience at Foreign Affair winery today. Ed was so knowledgeable and personable and answered all our questions. Beautiful grounds for a picnic lunch! The winery itself is small but lovely. The retail shop is gorgeous and full of delicious wines and quality items for purchase. Beautiful presentation overall. Love the wine labels and the history of them. Very Canadian and cheeky. Fabulous for gifts.
Great winery making unique wines. Been a regular for 10 years. Looking for high quality that's a little different, then this is the place.
Great wines and service. We popped in by chance as wanted a gift; bought a bottle of their upscale appassimento wine and it was the perfect gift showcasing unique Italian craftsmanship. :))
Visited in September 2017 My husband and I are from Alberta and take a trip every year to BC wine country so we were unsure what to expect from an Ontario Winery and we were very pleasantly surprised! We were greeted by Matt and told of the wine tasting (3 for $10 for the Partial Appassimento wines and $5 each tasting for the 100% Appassimento & limited edition wines) these fees waived with the purchase of a bottle. We found the wines to be impressive in body and flavour across the board and Matt was very knowledgable and attentive during the experience. We will be back on our next trip to Ontario!
(Translated) WoW! You must go back, courteous competent staff! Excellent wines (Original) WoW! Il faut y retourner, personnel compétant courtois ! Excellent vins
Great wine and winery. The first to make appasimento style wine in Ontario. Those who work behind the bar are knowledgeable and friendly. The wine is created in an apassimento style (drying the grapes before winemaking) which creates a beautiful complex wine. I highly recommend this winery, they make top notch wines. You can choose from a reasonably priced wine that is very good to a more expensive wine that you will take great pleasure in enjoying. They have 3 prices for tastings; 3 wines for $10, $5 per tasting for their 100% appasimento wines or $10 per tasting for their more limited and vintage wines. All wines are wonderful but pay for a $5 or $10 tasting as well as the regular 3 wines for $10 tasting. It will show you the variety of what is made at Foreign Affair and how will made it is.
Great winery. Staff was very knowledgable. Went there with some friends and loved the tastings. Left with a few bottles and some gifts. If your looking for some wines made in the traditional Appassimento style this place is for you.
One of the best wineries in Ontario with fantastic red and white wines created by an exceptional wine maker. Also very knowledgeable friendly staff.
Love this winery. Staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. To my liking FA makes the best wines in Ontario. I only have one request, please make sparkling wine.
Always love going to this place. Their red wines are so good. They are full bodied and delicious. They really have perfected the appassimento style.
Always an excellent visit. Top notch customer service meets stellar wines. Will be back soon.
Great selection and venue. Some of the more enjoyable wines we tasted while in the area.
Wines are bang on.....hidden Gem
Incredible tasting wine - both high end and budget friendly options.

JD was fun, informative and made my afternoon fantastic ... great winery!
Knowledgeable friendly staff, perfect pairing of red/white wines and price points. Lady wine presenter knew her wines and the history of the Winery. Fun gift shop complete with condiments. Well worth the experience. Koodos.
Very interesting and excellent wine!!
We loved the wine, the winery is beautiful, and the service was great! We highly recommend this place if you’re a wine fan!
Amazing winery!
Excellent wine.
Wonderful place nice people
Such a great winery. Definitely off the beaten path but the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. The inside is really well done and the wines are fantastic. They host a few number of events in the year and each one has been great to go to
Delicate wine and lovely staffs. Always make a good moment with the foreign affair
An absolutely fantastic seated tasting experience. Winery has done a great job ensuring public health protocols are followed and we felt very safe during our visit. Megan was an excellent host! Informative and passionate. Bought a few bottles and am already wanting more - probably time to join their wine club!
lovely winery! Shoutouts to Julia who was my family's server - her knowledge of the different wines and her energy made the experience that much more enjoyable. :)
My wife and I have been here many times in the past, but it wasn't until last July that we actually tried their high end wines, the $25.00 price per person for 4 tastings is well worth it. We were so impressed that we have since been at least 12 more times. Their 2012 Gran Q (which we were lucky enough to sample) is probably one of the top 5 wines I have ever tasted. We have been to California, Tuscany and tried wines from all over, this wine rates right up there. Their 2016 Cab Franc is another gem, I opened it up a week ago with friends and it was a hit, so smooth and velvety. Their wines are so good that I became a wine club member. Their staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable Michael, Brenda Julia. Salute!!!
Great Experience!!
Great wines. Red and white.
Great experience. The people there know what they are talking about. Wine is great!!
Excellent wines wonderful people
Purchased a number of wines just the other day from the winery. I tried their Q wine for dinner tonight . It was fabulous -equivalent to a Quintarelli , Dal Forno or a Bussulo (alto) at 1/4 the price. I phoned my friend from Verona , Armando Fumanelli , and told him how good Q is ! Bravo to the Foreign Affair wine maker responsible for this work of art. Giuseppe Quintarelli would be proud.
A must stop on ANY winery tour!!
Foreign Affair winery is one of my favourite wineries in Ontario. We have memberships there, order supplies monthly & love the spevial events (tastings, education, local tours) etc.
Excellent wine tastings, clean and informative.
Great tasting experience and amazing wines.
This place was absolutely fantasic. Cool tasting room, knowledgable and helpful staff, and really great quality wines. Absoluty recommended
Niagara's best wine by far!
Beautiful winery, with helpful, knowledgeable staff. We were able to taste a variety of their wines, which we wonderful, and I appreciated Brenda walking us through what we were tasting. It's a beautiful place to visit.
Great spot, very friendly staff and some good appassimento red wines
Great time, band was awesome.
This is my favorite red wine producer from Ontario!
We had an amazing experience at our tasting. Susan was our lovely host and she was very knowledgeable. The wines were a very generous pour and delicious, also in beautiful glasses. The best tasting experience so far and we have been to many over the years. We bought 5 bottles and some of their wine glasses. Highly recommended.
Awesome customer service! Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff! Their wines are some of the best I've ever had. Joined their wine club immediately at checkout!
