Great staff, very helpful and knowledgeable. They gave our young girls some toys to play with too which made our visit very peaceful!! Nice cheese and butter tarts for purchase too
Very nice people, good and friendly service always, and we have been here numerous times. Love the when especially Summer!
Would recommend! Our tasting with Katie was great! She was very knowledgeable and super friendly. In fact every staff-member we encountered was super friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy their job. Tasting were done outside (because of new indoor mask policies within the county) but the gazebos made it easy to stay cool out of the sun if desired. Even the shop was well laid out for social distancing measures. It does get busy, so do make a reservation especially on the weekends. Lots of choice as for wines, many were pretty good and all reasonably priced. Cheers!
Nice outdoor wine tasting experience. Kristen was a rock star of a help and a good chat. Would recommend for anyone visiting wine country
This is my favourite winery that I try to visit once a year. The staff is friendly, the views are pretty, the wine tastes amazing. You can't ask for more.
Great place
(Translated) Fairy place. Nice stopover to do with family or not. P-e a fluke but we were served in French. Considering the complexity of the wine, it was super pleasant. And to finish the wine is simply divine. Rosé pinot noir a favorite. Good visit (Original) Endroit féerique. Bonne visite
Very nice winery !! All the wines were very good and Anna was a great waitress, thank you so much!
Friendly staff and awesome wine
What a wonderful place! John gives a great tour including the history of the vineyard. The tasting was also fantastic. The young lady, who's name I didn't take note of but has long straight red hair and a winning smile, introduced us to some incredible wines. She was very knowledgable and customer focused. Very well done!
We took a day trip to Prince Edward County and was truly amazed by what this town had to offer. But nothing was more impressive than the Sanbank Estate Winery where Michael, our host was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He showed tremendous insight, educating us on the different textures and wine profile. He gave us excellent suggestions on wines to taste based on our individual preferences and other local spots we should check out. Much more than the consummate sommelier, Michael treated us like a friend. I also recommend visiting mid-week when there is less crowd.
Friendly staff and bilingual too (English / French)
Very professional service, clean and impressive. the wine on the other hand (IMO) is lacking in character and depth.
Always a good time going in to the Sandbanks Estate Winery.
I enjoyed a wine tasting day with my husband and 2 family members. We purchased 3 bottles of wine after tasting. Thank you!
Great place for an afternoon visit, tasting the wine in a beautiful setting, friendly staff, excellent wines on the lower end of the price scale. We sat for an hour tasting wine in a sandbox gazebo and our dog was even offered a dog cookie. Great place, we bought a few bottles.
Amazing the staff are wonderful
Good stuff
By far my favourite winery, something for everyone and free home delivery!
Absolutely fantastic, great staff great wine, perfect stop for a Sunday afternoon drive, thank you.
Great place with some of the nicest wines in Ontario. Staff where outstanding and made our visit very enjoyable. I highly recommend a visit when in the County
Super friendly staff and very knowledgeable! Great wine! Worth the stop!
Awesome experience, we had a short free tour and continued with a great tasting. Our host Elaine was fantastic!
Recently visited Prince Edward county for business. Sandbanks Estate Winery was one of our stops. A very nice tasting bar and very fun staff!! We were quite surprised how much we enjoyed their wine. Route 33 malbec- shiraz was one of our favourites.
Had a great time there this weekend! We booked a tasting for our group of 12 and Stephanie's service was beyond excellent! Everyone loved it and many purchases were made!
Awesome selection of wine , great staff, some exclusive wines only available to purchase at the vineyard. Nobody will leave empty handed.
Great people and great wines
Great place to stop for some wine. Nice layout.
my room-mate and I had a wine tasting, purchased a sleeve of crackers, some local cheese (which was excellent), some meat and enjoyed a nice sunny day out on the patio. The server was friendly, knowledgeable and paired up our wines tastefully. Recommend but suggest you bring a designated driver:)
I enjoyed a wine tasting day with my husband and 2 family members. We purchased 3 bottles of wine after tasting. Thank you!
(Translated) Friendly staff! (Original) Personnel sympathique!
If you are into wines then this is the place to visit. They have many varieties not sold by the LCBO and they offer free direct shipping to address in Ontario. Great product and great service.
My favourite winery in PEC!
Superbe place. Very friendly and also affordable. Sebastien even speak French for those with limited English.
Probably the best known Prince Edward County winery, and for good reason. The variety of wines for sale here is broader than most County wineries and offered at more reasonable prices than most. And of course, they're all very good. Great spot to relax in the summer on one of their many Muskoka chairs.
Doug is the man!!
We love Sandbanks. French kiss is a great red.
Great staff! Yummy wine.
Lucky we stumbled into Sandbanks Estate Winery. It wasn’t our first choice but now it’s are only choice when we go back to PEC. Tasting is expensive. Allows you to try several different wines. We were blessed enough to try the Entre Nous and it just was a game changer. The server even told us that the woman who created the wines here said it was the best she has ever made. And I completely conquer. The flavors were mind blowing. If you are going PEC please check this winery out, you won’t be disappointed
we arrived for the 10:30 tour where our guide Tom provided information about the history Sandbanks. His passion for wines was evident during his tour. After the tour, Matthew assisted us with sampling 5 wines. He was helpful and provided useful facts regarding the different wines. The selection of wines available for tasting is impressive and includes whites, and reds. Our favourite wine was the Canada 150, summer, baco noir, and late harvest, the sweeter wines. Sandbanks was our favourite of the 6 wineries we visited on this trip.
Always friendly staff! Love their wines!
Did a wine tour. The host was fabulous. Will return.
We went today, for our second time. One of the BEST wineries we have been to. We brought out of town guests, they thoroughly enjoyed it too. The staff are amazing here. Victoria was so pleasant on the phone, Aimee checked us in, Maddy was our delightful server, Zoe checked us out. The wine is sooo good. We bought 8 bottles. Noir 2, is a must. Covid restrictions are in place. Everything was extremely clean and we felt very safe. This will not be our last time going. We are thinking to become club members.
Good experience of tasting. Unfortunately a few of the popular ones were sold out but that happens. Lots to try, lots to buy. There is a tour 3x daily, but call ahead to book. $15 gets you a tour, tasting and small food pairing.
Clean and friendly. Best winery in the county!
Excellent service. Very knowledgeable staff.
We're very happy with the amazing service Kristen provided !! We will definitely come back asap for some more wine tasting and shopping
Came by today from out of town. We are huge Sandbanks red wine drinkers and were very excited to come by. We were helped by Grace and she was exceptional. She saw my partner was sitting outside alone with our small dog and immediately insisted that he came in to join me inside. I came in hoping to get a recommendation for a red similar to the Baco Noir. Grace was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the wines and suggested the Lot 17, and the Sleeping Giant. Both of these wines were amazing, we immediately bought both in addition to our other purchases. Grace was very warm and welcoming to us and our little dog.
Maddy was excellent. Great service great place great wine. Route 33 unbelievable.
We had a great time and Kristen was super heplful and knowledgeable. 5 star service and amazing wine!
Great place for an afternoon visit, tasting the wine in a beautiful setting, friendly staff, excellent wines on the lower end of the price scale. We sat for an hour tasting wine in a sandbox gazebo and our dog was even offered a dog cookie. Great place, we bought a few bottles.
We enjoyed our visit.Very friendly staff assisting you with wine tasting and selection.
5 tastings for 3$, which was the best value we experienced. Staff was nice and knowledgeable. Wine was amazing, and there was great variety.
Katie was great. Super sweet she was full of great tips from pairing to the ageing of the wine A+ we will love to come back!
Always a pleasure to visit!
Awesome fireside wine tasting, great knowledgeable staff. Excellent wines to choose from. Scenic location. Great experience from start to finish!
I dropped by during a snow storm in February. I did a tasting with an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable person named Laura. Since there were few customers, because of the snow storm, I got to discuss the winery and the wines for over an hour. A truly enjoyable visit. Can't wait to come back during the summer months for a tour.
Love their rose! But, was very disappointed with our experience when we visited the winery. Service was not great, and we stayed for lunch which was terrible! The pizza was not worth $20 and we waited an hour for something I could make better in my toaster oven.
Great wine and friendly service, we enjoyed the tasting and bought a few bottles to take home.
We have been to the bulk of wineries in the region and Sandbanks always delivers. The wine of course, but also in the outdoor space and ambience, the knowledgable passionate staff - Katie speaks to the history and wines like she has been here from the start! We'll keep coming back over many seasons and join the ranks of volunteers who help harvest grapes for wining, dining and live music.
Look up the definition of service in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of the young, witty wine aficionado - Dante. When 8 hangry guests arrive to your winery, they are not always easy to deal with. Dante put us at ease by offering us a curated selection of fine wines, delightful remarks and invitations to his prom. Although we were not able to attend, we're most certain that Dante brought his positive energy and good vibes, making it an evening his classmates won't soon forget. Thank you and we'll definitely be back to visit soon!
Kristen the bartender is amazing! Very knowledgeable!

Beautiful new family vineyard to visit. Very helpful and informed staff. The wine tasting was fairly good where an untrained pallet like my own can learn to enjoy new wines.
I wanted to take a moment and share my wonderful experience at Sandbanks Estate Winery. We had the pleasure of interacting with Chloe who made our time spent there that much more memorable. Although it was a chillier day, she kept a smile the whole time and offered us wonderful customer service! Will highly recommend to others!
Great tasting experiance. Kailynn was knowledgable and helped steer us to the wines we liked, even gave us a great history lesson of the Winery. Wife walked out with a case of our favourites. P. S. If you bring a child along ask for the bag of popcorn.
(Translated) Service in French on request, very welcoming and pleasant staff, excellent value for money. To go see !!!
Beautiful day to sip ???? on the patio
Beautiful place to spend some time with friends and enjoy the wine of the region
Lovely spot with outdoor tasting bar@
Didn't even know they were in ontario but now I have to go. I am a fairly new wine drinker and I think their white and rose are some of the best I have tasted. Both are now my go to, such a nice balanced wine. Can't wait to see your Winery in the future.
My boyfriend and I had a great winetasting with Alicia. She was knowledgable and so much fun to chat with. Highly recommend route 33 white and sandBanks sleeping giant red.
(Translated) Keep calm and drink some good wines! The baked pizza was a real treat! Route 33: beautiful discoveries ... white and red (Original) Keep calm and drink some good wines!
Went for the wine tasting and tour. Very pleasant and knowledgeable staff. The owner made a point of doing a history of the winery. We greatly enjoyed the wine, the music and the ambiance on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon. The best winery in the county!
Had a great wine tasting at Sandbanks, employees are very knowledgeable on their wines as well as extremely friendly. Definitely will be returning! Highly recommend the French Kiss Cabernet Merlot!
We drink a lot of Sandbanks wine, so when we arrived on the tour we were excited. However, because we were in a group of 23, we didn't get to go to the main winery, we went to a side tasting area/building (which was still nice, but didn't get the full effect). At first, we were told we could only taste the wines on the tasting menu, I asked if I could try another one, and after a bit of prying, they opened a bottle so I could taste it. I bought 2 cases including a few kinds you cant get at the LCBO. I left happy.
Maddy was such an amazing tasting guide! Really appreciated her insight!
I visited this winery, I must say that its an amazing spot. The employees there are absolutely wonderful, especially Aimee and Sara. They are both very welcoming. We went for a tour and Aimee did a great job and she is very knowledgeable and great at what she does. This is a special place that we will always remember. Regards, S&A
Things are different now - and we adjust. That said, you can still enjoy a good wine tasting! Special shoutout to Katie N - who walked me through a wine tasting! She was engaging, funny, and knowledgeable! Kudos Katie! I stock to the reds (mainly). I really enjoyed the French Kiss and the Sleeping Giant! Outside things were safely distanced and you are able to soak up the sun while enjoying a glass of wine? If you are hungry, there was a wood fire pizza available (extra / separate), but it was the perfect pairing. A must visit!
Awesome wine stop! Not only is the pricing reasonable and the wine delicious but they sell local cheese and pepperoni as well as mustard and wine jam!! The addarondac chairs and fun vibe are a great way to relax and drink some local prince edward Prince Edward county wine! Worth a visit for sure!
Went today great time all staff friendly and very helpful.
(Translated) Superb place, with good wines! Anna was very warm to us. I recommend! (Original) Superbe endroit, avec de bons vins! Anna a été très chaleureuse avec nous. Je recommande!
Love it the best
We had the full wine tour with John and actually learned something! We've been on wine tours all over the world and it was still worth the tour. The friendly service and time taken to connect with each customer made this a great stop on our tour! Would definitely visit again.
My staff and I visited Sandbanks yesterday, we were there last fall and feel in love with Doug! He was great; very knowledgable and entertaining. This years we met Andrew and we were just as pleased! Andrew made our last stop on our tour very memorable. Looking forward to our next visit :)
I like the big red. Fully tasty!
A must- Danté at the gazebo bar was perfect. Just make sure you eat beforehand!
A must- Danté at the gazebo bar was perfect. Just make sure you eat beforehand!
Very fun! and great selection of wines and enjoyed the nice fire pits and tables provided recommend you visit if enjoy wine and nice atmosphere
My fiancé and I have been going here every summer for three years! Their wine is delicious and they have wood fire pizza from Pizza Via, which is????????????. The atmosphere is great too as the main building is nestled in between the vineyard. Try the pesto pizza, it’s to die for!
It was nice but wines were not great and the atmosphere was nothing like Norman Hardie or Waupoos. A little flat really, not terrible but certainly not somewhere I would rave about or make a second trip to.
Nice place, friendly staff and good selection of wines. Cost was only 10$ for a flight of 5 glasses of 0.5 oz of wine each. They have wines exclusively sold there and not available at LCBO. They will waive the 10$ wine tasting fee if you purchase 4 bottles of wine. They should add some food options to their offering like some other places in the area.
Excellent service. Good wine. Nice location.
Excellent !
This is one of our favourite Ontario wineries. Their sparkling Rose is a favourite. Nice stop when out touring wineries and we like that our kids are welcome with us. A stop we always make when in that area.
Great experience! Unfortunately there were no food options when we went (probably due to Covid) which would've probably kept us there another hour or so, but the wine was very good and our server Zoe was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about the winery, area and the wine. She was very friendly and kept us entertained the entire time we were there. Cheers!
Sandbanks winery happens to be our favourite one on the whole Prince Edward County. We try to visit the place every year and didn't miss one in last 11 years. The place is grown up on our eyes, but every time we have had an exceptional experience. All sales representatives are very knowledgeable and ready to help. They know each wine aging time and type of barrel, every visit we learn something new. There is a testing place outside and a big picnic area with tables and chairs. We shared the experience with our friends and they agreed that the Sandbanks winery one of the best on the peninsula. #fullyaccessible #accessiblewashroom #sandbankswinery
Very pleasent visit.
Very fun! and great selection of wines and enjoyed the nice fire pits and tables provided recommend you visit if enjoy wine and nice atmosphere
Our go-to winery in the County to stock up at: reasonably priced wines, relatively consistent quality, and a beautiful sales floor. Can get busy on summer / fall weekends, and staff can get a bit harried - try for mid-week, linger, talk with the staff, and maybe arrange for a tour if theyre not too busy. Good establishment. Drink local.
My husband and I visited Sandbanks Estate Winery yesterday, and couldn't have asked for a nicer experience. The staff (every remember we interacted with) could not have been lovelier and took every measure to ensure our visit was both safe/sanitary (thanks, COVID) and enjoyable. There was an excellent variety of wines, all clearly explained to us during our reserved tasting (if you'd like to do a tasting, reservations are required for the time being), and several, including an apple wine, that are only available at the winery. Briar, who guided us through our tasting, was knowledgable with a wonderful disposition. If you're planning a visit to PEC, Sandbanks Estate Winery is worth a stop.
Great service, Dante was very knowledgeable and friendly. Accommodating us at the end of his shift and never hurrying us along. Definitely would go back any time when in PEC.
Great options and service very friendly. Went as a aprt of a bigger tour and it was awesome.
We visited this winery July 27th and this was only my second visit to a winery and was a great experience. The staff member was very knowledgeable and friendly. We ended up buying 4 bottles of their wine which was very tasty. If you are going there i highly recommend going around the lunch hour. You can buy a small brick of Black River cheese in a variety of flavours along with crackers etc. We brought our own crackers and cold cuts and forgot the knife and cutting board for the cheese we bought there. They had them available for customers to use. How cool! We sat at an outdoor table with a nice glass of wine that we purchased for $5 and enjoyed a great lunch with a view of Lake Ontario. Oh wait, that turned into 2 glasses of wine because my wife and I were having such a great time!
We're very happy with the amazing service Kristen provided !! We will definitely come back asap for some more wine tasting and shopping
Amazing tasting experience at Sandbanks Winery. The staff totally exceeded our expectations - Aimee and Rachel were awesome. The tasting is very reasonably priced and we ended up grabbing a few of the winery exclusive wines to bring home. There is plenty of outdoor space, and they have a pizza truck in the back where you can get some goodies. Highly recommend.
Very nice winery with tasting areas. Covid safe.
Annabel gave the most welcoming and amazing Entre Nous wine tasting experience. Held in their very cozy back event space (former winery that they out grew) ... went for my Aunt’s birthday and she loved it. I highly recommend this winery!
We took a guided tour in the vineyard and the tour guide was very informative. We went in mid-October so it was a little cold to walk around outside. Will definitely come back again during the summer!
(Translated) Great wines, Winter Harvest as good as some Niagara ice wines for a quarter of the price !! Their reds have body and taste! Excellent service and smiling! We took a "wine tour" on the weekend and visited a number of wineries in the County. Of all the ones we visited, the people at Sandbanks were the most informative, pleasant and customer-oriented. At the other wineries all you heard was, "Tastings are $7.00." At Sandbanks they said, "Welcome." Also their wines are great and represent great value.
Our group of 6 had the best time wine tasting at Sandbanks with Stephanie this past weekend. Stephanie was very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and her recommendations did not miss! Thank you for a great first stop on our tour of PEC! It set a great tone for the rest of our day.
Very nice staff, nice place, great wine menu.
There's so many tasting bars here so the service is really quick. There was a food truck and also the option for charcuterie. I really like the set up.
Just went on Saturday with a bachelorette party. Grace was amazing. She met us outside waving and smiling as we approached. She was bubbly and knowledgeable and the entire experience was well organized and fun. A great snack spread was ready when we came in. And we tried 5 wines which was the most of all 4 wineries we'd been too. This is where our group spent the most money easily. Grace has so much passion for the product I don't think any of us left empty handed. Special praise to the cider wine that was easily the best we had all day.
Enjoyed another lovely visit with the whole family. My friend who was visiting wanted desperately to go to a winery and the becah this weekend. We were strapped for time so we chose Sandbanks because it is our "safe" choice. There is always something someone in our group will enjoy. It is family and pet friendly (they even have a small table and colouring for the kids and in the past my daughter got a juice box while the adults got a glass of wine before the tour). I also love that this winery is set up for you to bring in your own picnic if you choose to (since a few others don't let you bring in outside food). But if you forgot to pack a picnic, fear not! They have all the basics available for a charcuterie board that you can purchase in the store (meat, cheese, crackers the board and a knife). There is also a new food truck on location this year from Wednesday to Sunday , although I can't remember what it was called.
Amazing winery with lots of top notch choices to pick from.
The best local winery I’ve been in a long time. Great wines, great atmosphere and amazing people that made us feel welcomed the first step in the door with a wine tasting right off the bat. I will be coming back the next time I’m in the area again.

Amazing tasing VQA wines at very reasonable prices, huge fan of "Dunes" white wine
We did a wine tasting with Sebastian and he was great! When we asked for recommendations and descriptions he was very helpful and when we wanted to do our own thing he let us socialize. 100% would come back!
We had a lovely and entertaining wine tasting with Anna. The wine selection was varied to suit various style preferences and there were some very good ones. We had a nice time and would return. (My advice, when reserving, make sure you ask for a tasting area in the shade during hot summer months).
I tour the county wineries with friends every year. This is my favourite. The staff are always friendly, they have a good selection of wines, the prices are reasonable and most importantly, their wines are excellent. They have a nice patio area where you can have a glass of wine while talking to friends and relaxing. Try it out...like me, I think you will be coming back year after year. Cheers!
I'm not sure what happened to your Baco noir. My most favorite wine ever. The last 4 to 5 bottles buying different days are terrible. Very sour. My husband says the demand is probably so high that you are bottling too soon. So disappointing. I miss my baco noir.
(Translated) We love our experience at this place using it French speaking in addition we were able to understand all the grape varieties of each wine really nice and smiling thank you very much (Original) Nous avons adorez notre experience a cette endroit l'employer parlais francais en plus nous avons pus toute comprendre les cepage de chaque vin vraiment sympatique et souriante merci beaucoup
We loved our server she was fabulous ❤
Beautiful location, friendly staff, good wine selection
The wife and I recently visited this place. The staff were friendly and talkative. It’s setup for COVID-19 practices feels pretty legit.
all good
Very fun day, but prices of glasses of wing got hike to $10. Company is under new management.
Nice set up along side active grape vines. Produce a lot of popular wines, both red and white. 1 of our must stops in the county.
A must see in the area. The free visit & wine testing were perfect to discover the products and history of the winery. They offer a wide variety of products, affordable and distinguished. Excellent for everyone looking to discover local wines.
(Translated) Excellent welcome, good atmosphere! The products are varied, short beautiful moments with family. Thank you! (Original) Excellent accueil, bonne ambiance! Merci!
Lovely winery hidden away in Prince Edward county. Well worth the drive from the Toronto area. Friendly and knowledgeable staff with a unique atmosphere with a cottage like feel. Wine tastes amazing and the staff are super helpful with figuring out a wine that's right for you. I happily bought 6 bottles when I was just looking for a couple ????????
Friendly service, beautiful grounds and good wine!
(Translated) Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful layout, rather sweet wines, but impeccable service and in French by Elaine !!
Really good wines, great service and beautiful location. This winery is perfect for a light brunch or picnic in the middle of the vines. There’s plenty of stations to attend wine tasters, courteous and knowledgeable service. Clean washrooms and ample parking. They serve crackers and water jugs everywhere. This is a must stop in any wine route.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Wine is amazing
Had a wonderful visit. Our hostess was Donna and she was amazing; friendly and informative. We highly recommend this winery to everyone.
Sandbanks closes at 5, and while I understand it may be frustrating to have a few people come in close to closing time it was 4:30. The employee seemed very unhappy for us to come in, and made a point to look at the time then look at us and say "we close at 5." We also bought 5 bottles of wine and mustard and I said oh can we put a ballot in for the chance to win. Before I was able to finish my sentence she said "It's six bottles, you bought 5." It wasn't the best experience.
We had an amazing wine tasting experience with Fiona! she was soo kind and knowledgeable! the wines are so freaking good that we bought 8 bottles!!! my boyfriend and I are definitely coming back to this winery :)
Great selection of wines, their Sparling rose is really tasty, the staff are very knoledgable.
10/10 amazing staff who are all passionate about their craft. Wines are all phenomenal... Definitely have something for everyone's taste
Had an amazing tasting here this week. Great set up with lots of tasting areas. Very COVID-19 safe as well. Lots of outdoor seating for a nice day. Our tasting with Anna was great, couldn't have asked for a better experience!
Lovely day. Stephanie was the perfect host. Would highly recommend a visit .
We had never been to a Prince Edward county winery before, and were pleasantly surprised. Not as fancy as some of the big Niagara wineries, but nice vineyards, outdoor tasting areas, good wines, and friendly staff. Worth the visit.
We visited for a tasting flight during the first weekend open again of Covid 19 summer and had a lovely time. Our server, (I think Bria (sorry for spelling!)) was a total joy to chat with while we tasted their wines. Thanks to the whole team for adjusting to allow for our visits again. Definitely recommend stopping by while in PEC.
Lovely outdoor wine tasting. Great selection of wines, which Anna walked us through with patience, authority, and enthusiasm.
The operation outdoor has doubled in space with hammock chairs and fire pits. Good and large wine selection. They are adding food truck for end of July 2021. Professional and bilingual operation given they are owned by teacher's pension plan. This large operation will only grow.
Anna was our server????She was very nice and knowledgeable about the wines. We ordered all the winery exclusives and a few others as well. Delicious! You can purchase a build your own charcuterie plate which was lovely with the wine. My favourite was the Entre Nous Chardonnay.
Good place, but SUPER disappointed that they discontinued the apple wine as it was my favourite.
Great wine for a very good price. Lots of bottles in the $15 range. They offer 0.5 oz x 5 for $10 If you enjoy sweet wine try their late reserve only available from March until they run out (not sold at the LCBO). With the purchase of 4 bottles you get 1 tasting free.
Wow! Great setup, good vines and excellent service by Anna. Wouldn't hesitate to go back!
Aimee was great. Thank you for the experience
Great service and excellent wines
Very positive experience. Knowledgeable friendly staff, great advice... So we bought some wine. A lesson to struggling wineries that a smile goes a long way
Great service and knowledge by the workers
Tasting with Peter was great, he went above and beyond to make the experience one to remember. All staff were super organized and cautious when it came to social distancing precautions. Would recommend for larger groups.
Welcoming staff; cheerful, eager to answer whatever question you have. They know their stuff. Excellent wines. This place stays in my bucket list.
(Translated) The white wines are excellent and cheap, employees very welcoming and courteous very beautiful decor (Original) Les vins blanc sont excellent et pas cher, employés très accueillant et courtois très beau décor
Amazing Wine tasting experience at Sandbanks Winery. Made even more enjoyable by our very knowledgeable and cheerful wine tasting host Stephanie Herr. Thank you Stephanie for an amazing service. Grace & Michael, July 15, 2021
Relaxed atmosphere. The fire bowls and muskoka chairs were wonderful. Add wine and voila!
Absolutely amazing atmosphere at Sandbanks! Wonderful tastings and the staff are extremely knowledgeable. We particularly enjoyed speaking with one of the staff named Zita, she was incredibly kind and made our day that much better!
Very popular vineyard. Knowledgeable friendly staff. Good cross section of local wines. Book on advance for tastings.
Nice spot to buy some wine and have a picnic lunch . There are guided tours but we didn't go on one. You can have a free wine tasting of five wines as long as you buy a bottle.
Emily is awesome, great wine knowledge. Love Route 33.
The wine was great, setting was wonderful, but Madeleine really made the day!
Excellent service and tasty wines. Highly recommend.
There is a reason why this company is the 3rd best in Ontario! Its wines and service were astounding. From the moment we walked in it was a real experience - they’ve done it up art-wise, have beautiful gazebos & put comfortable chairs around the property so people can enjoy the view. The bartenders assisting us with our tasting were so friendly and helpful and the tour guide, John, gave us an amazing tour with a comprehensive history and explanation of the property the owners and the process of wine making. He also had a great sense of humour. My family and I really enjoyed it here out of all the wineries we visited at Prince Edward County.
Nice place, great sitting outside in the muskoka chairs. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would recommend
Can’t recommend this place enough. Stephanie, our host, was very friendly and knowledgeable, giving us a great time here. We had a flight of 5 tasters each at a super reasonable $10 (free if you buy 4 bottles). I absolutely love the Late Harvest dessert wine they have. Also recommend the Noir 2 and the Sleeping Giant reds
Friendly staff - many great, well priced, wines - even beautiful and kid friendly grounds, make this a great stop in PEC
We had a great time at Sandbanks yesterday. Madeleine, made us so comfortable. Thanks for having us!
Sandbanks was fantastic, our server Katelyn was awesome and very knowledgeable on all the wines and varietals, she also provided great recommendations. We've had many of the Sandbanks wines from the LCBO but we were excited to find that there are quite a few wines that are only available on site. It was definitely worth the drive! We really liked the apple wine, and sauvignon blanc, which are only available on site, but our party liked all of the wines that we tasted, and wound up buying a case and a bit between us.
Great day!
Phenomenal experience. Great staff, interesting tour, and decent wine. Will be back!
Friendly staff.
Madeleine was very friendly during our visit and gave us helpful explanations of which wines would suit our taste.
Beautiful shop, friendly and attentive staff, delicious wines, and some really nice seating outside.
The giuded wine tasting is very nice. Very friendly staff, wine tasting was very informative and fun. Good banana chips and cheese with the matching wines, learnt what wine goes with what flavor foods. Good location, its a spacious nice atmosphere inside. Great drive on a bright sunny day! They're generous with their wine samples too.
Discovering Sandbanks Winery, Ontario We took a 3 day road trip this fall (2018). We stayed at the beautiful MacKechnie House B&B in Cobourg, Ontario. Although we knew there was plenty to discover in the area, we weren't exactly sure where to start. so we asked the house lady, Cathryn her thoughts. She suggested for us to visit wineries and the name Sandbanks came up which immediately rang a bell. From this moment on, we had a starting point for our discovery day ! First thoughts Just to be clear, we absolutely enjoyedour visit, which included a wine tasting and a small winery tour. We previously visited wineries in various parts of the world, France, Brazil, Chile and Canada. That said, we expected something similar to the likes of Montreal, Canada so we were a little overwhelmed with our first impression of the Sandbanks Winery! It felt almost too fancy and intimidating and we didn't really know where to start. Surely, it was probably near the end of the season so the staffing might have been on the lighter side. Otherwise, we would recommend a type of greeter at the door to explain the process, so that it can be digested more easily. Things to do There's a nice success story about the Sandbanks Winery. Catherine Langlois comes from a city in Quebec, went to study in France and later planed to establish a winery in Prince Edward County. We won't spoil the goods for you, so if you're interested to hear more feel free to contact us or visit the Sandbanks Winery for a free25 minutes tour guide. Additionally, you can purchase wine from the main store or even better do some wine tasting ! There's a $5 dollar fee per person for the tasting, but if you buy 2 or more wine bottles they'll waive the charge ! There are many options of whites, roses and reds to choose from. Its also a peaceful setting, and it sounds like people drop by for a glass and a picnic during the summer. Stocking up! We enjoyed the wine and purchased 5 bottles since we were there. However, you can find their wines at many LCBO's cheaper than the SAQ. Another bonus for Ontarians, is free shipping for online orders with 4 or more bottles - check it out here if interested. They also offer a nice area for families that want to spend sometime around visiting the place this time of the year and some other events you can check in their website. Do we recommend ? Yes! It's quite the experience and we were taken by surprise as our expectations were much lower, no offence! The fact is, wineries in the Prince Edward County are growing at an insane rate. So if you're planning a trip from Ottawa or Montreal, you now have a closer (and cheaper!) alternative to Niagara on the lake !
Our group of 4 had a most enjoyable wine tasting. Very informative staff who provided an excellent overview of their wines. Everyone was also very attentive to covid protocols. The wines were delicious. Bought a number of bottles of the Route 33 as well as a selection of others.
Very nice atmosphere. Courteous, helpful staff, and large selection of wines.
Friendly helpful staff. The wine is okay. A fun day out.
Wonderful winery and lovely service from Kristen while we were there.
Friendly staff, very nice property, decent prices for local wine
We had a day of touring different wineries in the area and this was our best stop. Great staff, amazing wine( the summer white was my fave) and we were assisted by Shayne who was Incredibly helpful and made our experience the most delightful. Thank you for giving us a great down-to-earth, unpretentious day of simply enjoying some good wine. Hats off!!
lots of delicious and fun to drink wines
The operation outdoor has doubled in space with hammock chairs and fire pits. Good and large wine selection. They are adding food truck for end of July 2021. Professional and bilingual operation given they are owned by teacher's pension plan. This large operation will only grow.
This was our favourite winery of the day. The Sleeping Giant is especially unique and memorable. Stay for the pizza!
Did the complimentary tour, very informative. The staff here are so wonderful!
This was our favorite stop while visiting different wineries around PEC! Our group are no experts on wine, but Elaine was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful during our tasting. She made great recommendations. This is a must visit for anyone planning to tour wineries. Also wanted to note that they were extremely diligent with social distancing and keeping safe. This was a nice reassurance during our visit.
The best winery to visit in PEC. Great wine and great people. The tour was hiliarious and informative.

Victoria did a Tasting with my husband and I and she was amazing !! So informative and gave great recommendations we bought two bottles of wine from sandbanks because it was so tasty !! Kristen was very helpful as well and treated us so Kindly and greeted us with a smile ! We will definitely be back
Great winery to visit and super friendly staff! They offer complimentary wine tours at certain times during the day and wine tasting for a flight of 5 wines is $3.
Sandbanks was the fourth winery I visited with my friends (a group of 14) today and we were all beyond impressed with the bartender Sebastian. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wine and was able to recommend a wine for each of us based off our own tastes. He also let us know which wines (and years) would be best to purchase here at the winery and at LCBO. Definitely recommend going to sandbanks and requesting Sebastian!
Loved it! A most stop. AMAZING SERVICE, above and beyond. Amazing wine, if you’re like me and looking for unique taste profiles this place won’t disappoint. Also, love how each bottle was reasonably priced.
Would definitely recommend. Would go back again. the staff are knowledgeable and friendly
(Translated) Wow great place with nice staff and very good at advice.
Such a great experience, every time. I've been here a few times with different people and it is always great. The staff are friendly and easy to talk to. My aunts and I went recently and I have to say thank you to Kristen, she was personable and friendly! If you haven't been definitely check it out!
While all of the staff were lovely, Emily and Katie were a delight. You can tell how passionate they were about the products.
Best winery weve been to in PEC! Sebastian was the best! Very kind, explained all the wines, recommended wines based on preference, very knowledgable. A+ experience.
(Translated) Sometimes the popularity of a business can make them lazy but it was by far this one that I received the best service! Full explanations for each tasting, courteous and kind staff to help you! Several tasting wines (18) and very affordable prices !!
Great wine. Service wasn’t the best, would’ve appreciated if staff treated all paying guest with the same hospitality
Had many samples, and the Bacos are so good and full of flavour!
(Translated) Wow! Superb place! The wine is delicious and it is possible to have a tasting with cheese and cold meats. Unfortunately, this wine is not available in Quebec so I recommend that you allow space in your luggage. Without doubt one of the best and nicest wineries to visit in Sandbank. (Original) Wow ! Superbe endroit !
First time visiting PEC so we stopped at Sandbanks for a tasting. Great spot, friendly staff and wonderful wine, especially the Summer White!
(Translated) At least a 4.5 out of 5! Extraordinary vineyard in the sandbanks region. A1 service and high quality wine. As a bonus, it is the vineyard of a Quebecer. (Original) Au moins un 4.5 sur 5! One of the coolest wineries I have ever visited
(Translated) Great destination! (Original) Super destination !
One of our favorite wines
Dude the washroom stank. It was as if someone were dehydrated and peed allover the walls. Look, good vine yard but *cough cough*
Such a cute winery! My friends and I got on to a tour - which FYI does not include tastings. The tour explained the history of the winery and property and our tour guide, John, was very knowledgeable! Afterwards we enjoyed some wine tastings in the store. There are tons of options available for every wine lover! I would love to come back.
It’s one of the first stops we make along the wine ???? run. We always bring home a bottle or two. Their blends are wonderful but it’s their own grapes ???? that make the best bottles! Yum
Enjoyed visiting this winery. Highly recommend. Special thanks to Madeleine who did a terrific job telling us about the wines we tasted
Nice staff, great tasting and you can get a free tour. Their Pinot noir and Chardonnay were great!
The best wines! The excellent service! Attractive discounts!
Had a Blast! Got some good recommendations!
Best experience!
Enjoyable.
We had a great time wine tasting at the Sandbanks Winery over the weekend. The staff were all lovely and pleasant. It was a beautiful property with a lot of great views and places to take photos. Perfect stop on your tour of PEC!
Had the best experience with Kristen in wine tasting- she made great recommendations and was very knowledgeable on the wine and region.
Had the best experience with Kristen in wine tasting- she made great recommendations and was very knowledgeable on the wine and region.
Fantastic winery. Very well set up and extremely knowledgeable staff. They are a first rate establishment and would highly recommend!
3 tastings for $7. Lots of the wines on site are not available at LCBO which leads to Interesting finds. Entre Nous Maréchal Foch was well balanced, structured, deep earthy berries flavors ($39). Lots of attendants for tastings, quick service.
2020- We now make this a yearly trip! Spend a beautiful afternoon at sandbanks enjoying the wine and the PIZZA !! From the friendly customer service to the cuties dog Charlie, Pizza Via is a must try when going to the wineries! Try the Pesto pizza it is to die for!!! ❤️❤️❤️ 2018 Review - Absolutely beautiful winery! A must go to in prince Edward county! Winery carries wines that are exclusive to th winery and other brands you can find in the LCBO. Staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and to our surprise the winery is doggie friendly! Needless to say Zoey loves Sandbanks winery
Maddy made the experience amazing! She was informative, very natural and friendly. She really knows all of the details of the various wines... And there are many. Looking forward to enjoying the ones I purchased.
I love the experience. The person who guide us around the winery was extra nice, we could feel he really likes the job. his enthusiasm and love for his grapes made us want to visit them again.
Very nice winery experience! will definitely come back one day
(Translated) Wow great vineyard! And a great personalized experience with Fiona. A large choice of tastings and wines at very affordable prices for the quality! I recommend ! (Original) Wow super vignoble!
Very nice outdoor set up with Muskoka chairs and sitting area on the lawn. Cheese and crackers also available for purchase plus complimentary cutting boards so you can picnic there. Inexpensive wine tasting at outdoor bar area. A nice variety of wines to choose from and purchase. Indoor store and tasting available. We stayed outside. Washrooms very clean.
They had a good selection of wine and other snacks. The customer service was good but I wish they provided bags for their chocolates, cheeses, etc.
The wine - SO GOOD, the staff - SO FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE. Thanks Doug for the informative tour, we had a blast learning about all the different wines, and what to pair them with. 11/10 for Doug!
(Translated) Excellent welcome, bilingual tasting, affordable products, quality wines. This vineyard is worth the detour! (Original) Excellent accueil, dégustation bilingue, produits abordables, vins de qualités. Ce vignoble vaut le détour!
Good variety of wines. Most of their grapes are purchased elsewhere. Produces consistent quality products. Nice vineyard and bottle shop.
Great experience with the tour, even if it's a bit short (about 25 minutes). John is a great guide. Would be great to be able to visit the holding area and the actual winery.
Great experience doing a tasting with Kristen!!
Delicious wines and very friendly and outgoing staff! This is my second trip to PEC and enjoyed my trip to the winery both times!!! You guys are definitely on must come back soon list!
Had an amazing wine tasting at Sandbanks with Steph! She was very kind and friendly so we ended up buying three bottles. The location is also beautiful and a must-see if you’re in the area
Loved this place! Reasonable price to sample and the outdoor gazebo is the place to do it on a sunny day... or sit in the muskoka chairs! So many good wines. I bought a few reds. Go to drake Devonshire for food after. Gorgeous little area on the water!
Great wines &Great staff
We visited Sandbanks Estate Winery and had a great experience. We had a wine tasting with Madeleine who was very helpful and nice, we definitely would recommend! Best of luck to you Madeleine pursuing your studies!
Awesome place.very helpful staff.Plenty of place to have glass of wine and enjoy a picnic. Loved the atmosphere and the service.
Kristen was awesome, enjoyed our wine and will be back. Thank you
(Translated) Superb vineyard with many choices of wines, several grape varieties ... we really enjoyed our visit.
Excellent service. Good wine. Nice location.
Had another fantastic visit this year just shortly after the reopening in early June. We had the most knowledgable and fun sommelier and really enjoyed that visit. The best part is that this winery offers a great variety of excellent wines - Rose, White & Red for very affordable prices. We ended up filling up our trunk and will be back!
My family of four went for a wine tasting and had a great experience. Anna was able to answer my father in laws questions. Hope all your staff are as great as her.
Anna was our server. She was great!! She gave information about each wine served. Alot of knowledge and very friendly. I was one of four women and we loved the wine tasting. Great atmosphere, beautiful property.
This was our favourite winery of the day. The Sleeping Giant is especially unique and memorable. Stay for the pizza!
Loved all the wine I got to taste, but I'd like to give a huge shout out to Rachel, she was very knowledgeable with every tasting! Plus she was super friendly. I can't wait to visit again!
Great spot to enjoy sampling wine outdoors.
(Translated) Very good reception, set of wines of very GOOD quality, wide choice, good value for money, what more can we say? If they speak French. Preferred. Also available in SAQ for many. A privilégier. Aussi disponibles en SAQ pour beaucoup.
Maddy was amazing and very knowledgeable on the various products. She even gave us a purchase tip on our wine. She said go with the 2019 wine instead of the 2020,same price and better aged product. My favourite winery in the area with a fair price point. Some other wineries have over priced wine, same grapes and same process to make the wine. Not everyone is a citidoit wanting to spend 40 dollars a bottle. The 40 dollar wine is not even worth 20 dollars. I think some people get sucked in to the ambiance and don't want to pay for the tasting so they buy two overpriced bottles. Pay for the tasting and head straight out of there, you will save 60 dollars. I can get vintages from Argentina or Chile for under 20 dollars that puts most Ontario wines to shame. That is why I like Sandbanks they have a proper price point hence why they are busy, coupled with unpretentious staff speaking the truth about their products.
They had a super great time, I was the driver. Bought a box.
Very nice vineyard and knowledgeable/friendly staff, however, the wine was not my favorite in the region. This is not to say it was bad. If you enjoy sweeter white wine or reds with more alcohol dominance then i imagine these wines would satisfy your palate.
The service here was excellent and prices.for wine are more than reasonable.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were offered five tastings (one with a complimentary food pairing - yum!) and the server was very nice and knowledgeable. Lovely patio to sit out on.
(Translated) Super good product, excellent service, bilingual, good price, superbly beautiful ???? thank you to Nathalie for your advice and your listening (Original) Super bon produit, excellent service, bilingue, bon prix, superbement beau ???? merci à Nathalie pour tes conseils et ton écoute
Beautiful grounds with plenty of outdoor seating and outdoor bars for tastings. Recommend it on a sunny day!
If you like wine you will like it here.
Love this place. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great wine! Their Sandbanks baco noir is absolutely delicious & my favourite....buy some.????
Great wine. Wonderful and knowledgeable staff.
Amazing. We purchased a taste tour at the winery. Even though it was during covid, Sandbanks Estate made it just perfect. Our host z Stephanie, was just perfect. Very knowledgeable of the product, very customer expectations oriented, we enjoyed it from first second until the real end. The Sandbanks Estate products are great, well balanced, fairly priced. Two thumbs up to the whole team. We are hoping Quebec SAQ will finally hold the complete product line. It is way too hard to tell which was our favorite, it all depends of the mood you feel and what you are eating. Summer Rose is definitely a wow, the red Shoreline is a safe value. Thanks again for that experience and cheers to Stephanie who made our tour something special.
(Translated) We visited this vineyard on Saturday August 4, 2018. We were very well received and redirected to a person who spoke French very well (Mélanie from her first name). We love their red wines. My girlfriend likes their white wines. Their wines are part of our buy-back list. The Baco Reserve is sublime with a spicy steak. L'Entre-Nous is equally good with a flank steak. I would like this vineyard to be found at the SAQ. A site to visit absolutely if you passed in the area and that you like wine About ten red wine to try, if not more.
Went for a wine tasting and the sommelier was great.
Great wines, easy reservation system (during covid) for doing a tasting, good value wines, good value tasting session, knowledgeable staff.
I don't know much about wine, but my father in law does, and he said the French Kiss was a very good one! :) For good wines, they aren"t that expensive!
I tried the wine where I live and enjoyed. So I thought I would go in and did try other kinds. Good wine. I like to support a winery that was my stomping grounds growing up. Good luck with your business. Hope you get more support.
We went on a Saturday and even though we did not have a reservation the winery was able to accommodate us. Madeline was amazing for our tasting, and made great recommendations. Dante was very helpful in the store and made our experience prior to leaving very enjoyable. We will recommend this winery to others.
Extremely disappointed today with our experience. Sandbanks was our ultimate destination based on other great reviews however I will never be back. The wines were mediocre and the service was horrendous.
Our time at Sandbanks Winery was exceptional! Kristen was a great hostess. We cannot wait to come back next year :)
Great and staff was outstanding
We went there with the kids (3) hoping to make it quick. They always find it too long... but not this time. They played on the nice piano and had crackers and juice while we enjoyed the tasting. We tried them all! There is only one word to describe the taste and the feeling: excellence. I agree with the other comments as well: the price is fair for this quality. Definitely worth the detour; we ended up spending two hours there and brought 30 bottles back home... winters are so long! ????
(Translated) I recommend the place, beautiful vineyard, places outside to relax and wine tasting inside. The staff were helpful and courteous. The wines were all very good and good value for money (Original) Je recommande l'endroit, beau vignoble, places à l'extérieur pour relaxer et dégustation de vin à l'intérieur.
Best place to go for a good time. Wines are amazing, staff is awesome and place good for large groups. Long life to Sandbanks Winery!!!
The vineyard tour was really interesting. Loved their Baco Noir and Dunes white wine
Best place eve3
Emily was great! Had an amazing wine tasting experience! Great selection of fine wines ♥️
(Translated) Superb experience. Very good choice of wines and much appreciated tasting thanks to the very professional staff. Very beautiful vineyard. One must reserve.
Came here for my bachelorette with my family, Thanks Kristen for the awesome experience! Will definitely be coming back with my future husband!
Decided to go here for my first ever wine tasting after many recommendations and I'm so happy I did! Laura went above and beyond to ensure I learned and had some fun too.
Love going to sandbanks. Had a wonderful glass of entree new red and went out to Idlewild and had a great burger and fries they'll do it without a bun so it's gluten free. Love this place.
Rebecca at the bar recommended exceptional wines. Beautiful !
Katie was very friendly and knowledgeable about her wines. She made our wine tasting experience top notch. Overall a very pleasant experience and would definitely go back.
Great time! And great experience. Kristen was so knowledgeable and accommodating!!!
Awesome wine, staff are so friendly you'll want to stay all day
I got yelled at by a hostess at a tasting because we just wanted to pay for a bottle and they wouldn’t sell it without going through the slowest rolling tasting ever and charge us 20$ in the process. Like giving us a 1/2 tasting sip while we wer still waiting in line just to not make us feel like it was gonna take forever long. Like waiting an Hr still Not getting into the building long. The service was really garbage.
I was not happy when I got there. I was waiting to talk to someone about there wine and no one bothered to serve me! For 30 mins.. Trainee was serving other people but I waved and she just completely ignore me... What kind of service is this? Your wine may be good to buy at lcbo but not generally at your winery...
(Translated) Very nice place if you speak French. Hélène will give you impeccable service. Thanks again. Merci encore.
Wine was quite good! Definitely a must-do in PEC. Went off season, (October 31) but was able to sit outside by the fire pits after our tasting which was a pleasant experience. COVID protocols in place helped us feel safe and the tasting generously permitted trying 6 wines each. Not a "free" tasting by any means as you have buy two bottles afterwards (ave. price $20). Thankfully we had a coupon for an actually free tasting for four. However, if you love the wine then you shouldn't have an issue buying two bottle, I guess! It was cool being able to try and buy the Winery Exclusive bottles that are not sold at LCBO.
(Translated) Very nice discovery! We bought several bottles, in white and red. A big thank you to Mélanie, who guided us very well during our tastings and who speaks French very well :-) (Original) Très belle découverte !
Boring place. I bought some bottles for not wasting my time being there. I stayed total less than 10 mins. Not worth it.
Elaine at the tasting bar is amazing! Delish wine as well
We visited Sandbanks Winery on a less busy weekend in April so we had the winery to ourselves! The overall experience was great, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. They offer a $5 flight of 3 wines or a complimentary tasting with the purchase of 2 bottles. The prices are very reasonable and they have a good variety of price points to suit your budget. They also offer a small selection of cheese and snacks available for purchase if you want to take advantage of their outdoor picnic area. Great customer service, they overheard us deciding on a wine for my boyfriend’s parents and offered to gift wrap the bottle at no cost.
Went for a wine tasting with my husband and it was great! The winery itself is very nice, beautiful grounds. Kristen was great, friendly and very knowledgeable for our tasting :) would definitely recommend heading there for a tasting!
This winery is a fun spot to visit if you're in the county. The service was very helpful with wine advice and guidance, and there was quite alot of variety in the wines on offer. All the tastings are free.
(Translated) Very beautiful vineyard, welcoming and smiling staff, excellent selection of local wines! Enjoy their wines peacefully sitting outside on the edge of the vineyard. My favorites, the Sauvignon blanc and in the red the "Sleeping Giant" ???? Very attractive price / quality ratio!
(Translated) What a beautiful place The welcome is warm and the vines are accessible from the parking lot. A big waow. There was also a food-truck at the back and various facilities where we could enjoy tapas. The price of the tasting glass is quite expensive, however the bottles themselves are inexpensive. From red to white you will undoubtedly be won over. It is absolutely delicious.
(Translated) Superb wine tasting this Friday August 13th. A big thank you to Madeleine and Zoé for their advice and information given during the tasting. Very friendly! They are very familiar with the products to be presented! We are happy with our purchase: 8 bottles! Excellent vineyard! We highly recommend it! Excellent vignoble ! Nous le recommandons fortement !
Sandbanks is always one of our favourite stops when we are in Prince Edward County. I never was a red wine lover until I got to try their Baco Noir...I am a huge fan!! You can choose from indoor or outdoor tastings, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I came away with some new wines that caught my attention. Definitely worth the drive.
(Translated) Not far from the village of Wellington, this vineyard is fairly close to the banks of Lake Ontario. The vineyard is vast. No embarrassment to stop there for amateurs / amateurs ... Upon arrival, wooden pavilions outside allow you to taste 5 winegrower's products for only $ 3. The first beauty of the thing is that we have the choice of 5 wines among 28 white, rosé, or red wines. A short verbal description is provided with the product, sometimes comparing it with the previous tasting. The second beauty of the story is that this $ 3 is canceled if you buy 2 bottles and more of any product from the vineyard! (the account is for 2 bottles and more per person and not per couple). In reality, control over the $ 3 is rather theoretical since no outlay is required. Since 2017, there are three guided tours per day offered: 10:30 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m .: we had John as our guide. With him, there are visits in English, and others in French, this varies according to the clientele present on the spot which he takes great care to inquire about the provenance of the residence before the visit which will last approximately 25 minutes. Excellent English, occasionally translated and offers the possibility of questioning in French. In August, there are more explanations than a visit that begins with a small Riesling wine offered free in tasting format. We then receive excellent explanations on the creation of the vineyard, and the geographical advantages of its physical location. We then move around in the vineyards for other excellent explanations communicated with humor. The only negative point is that we have not visited any physical facilities like the bottling or storage room ... Inside the large shop, products can be purchased. Wine prices start at $ 13.95 for 750 ml. Most are under the $ 20 mark. Great little cookies can be tasted for free on site (also sold for $ 2.50 per small package). The vineyard does not have the rights to sell bottled wine to be consumed on the spot. It is however possible to buy wine by the glass ($ 5) which can be chosen from any of the wines produced by Sandbanks Estate Winery. And the portion that was served to us was very generous! You can taste your wine products with excellent cheeses sold on site at a reasonable price ($ 6-7). Knives and a wooden tasting board are provided before going outside on a table with a parasol. Perfect for having a good time and taking photos. The site is very well laid out with its colorful Adirondack chairs. Only the background music is mismatched and should be reviewed and replaced. Two toilets are accessible in the shop. A superb visit to make!

Well organized. Relaxing in the comfy chairs, enjoying a charcuterie board, on a beautiful October autumn day!

(Translated) Flavorless, similar to grocery store wines in our opinion. Nothing more to say.
Beautiful tasting room, and I'm glad they had some options for sweet wines.

Friendly staff who were very accommodating for our tasting, plus delicious wine!
My staff and I visited Sandbanks yesterday, we were there last fall and feel in love with Doug! He was great; very knowledgable and entertaining. This years we met Andrew and we were just as pleased! Andrew made our last stop on our tour very memorable. Looking forward to our next visit :)
Madeleine was amazing! Great service, wine is great. 10/10.
Very relaxing way to spend an hour or so! Try the Lounge Set experience. Fantastic wine and enthusiastic staff!
Back in August, my wife and I stopped in with my friend and his girlfriend for a sampling and to enjoy a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers on the beautiful patio, after this I stopped in the store to purchase a couple of bottles while my friend and his girlfriend waited out front on the lane way by the parking lot. While they were standing there, a lady who appeared to be a supervisor came out to ask them if they had purchased anything? This seemed very odd, we are all in our late 40's - early 50's and we had just enjoyed a nice little snack there, not sure why she would come all the way down to ask them that? I don't want to play the racist card since my friend's girlfriend is Black but we didn't see them approach anyone else like that? At the very least, it was a "hard sell" tactic that left a bad taste in our mouths, we will not return!
(Translated) My favorite vineyard !! Great wines, wow service and French if you wish. Dogs are welcome, only happiness!

By far the best winery in the County, great staff very informative, great tour, John made it fun, light and informative. Loved the selection of wines for tasting and the menu list for tasting (adding the label and description to each wine really helped us identify and remember our favourites.) Many tasting bars for fast efficient service. Will be back many times for sure.
Customer Service is a lost art at this winery. Lack of positive engagement, keeping patrons from “reserved” comfortable seating - for guests who never show up. The wines remind me of Ontario wines from the early 90’s. They definitely didn’t keep up with the progress of many of the surrounding wineries quality and practices. Overall - extremely disappointed.
Anna was awesome! Definitely worth the stop and a repeat ????
Nice modern building to accommodate tastings and to sell their wines. Shelves were well stocked and there is a very diverse selection. The staff running the tasting stations were knowledgeable and gave us advice on every taste. Pricing is very reasonable and the property is a delight to visit. This would make a great stop for anyone's wine tasting tour!
Loved our experience in the winery! Super friendly staff and so knowledgeable and very patient in answering all of our questions during the wine tasting. My only suggestion is to add the barrel and storage room visit to the wine tour as well. Thanks for the good day!
