This is a smaller winery but it is very good. We had a private tour and tasting with Conner. He took his time and let me follow along at my pace ( I am partially diasabled). He spent 1 hour showing us around. He then let us try many types of wine, 6-7 types for each of us. My wife settled on a late harvest riesling bottle which is sweet like an ice wine. A good time was had by all.

We had a really nice time on our wine tour experience at Pilliteri. Angelo was our host. He was just great! We enjoyed his tour, giving us all the knowledge as to how the winery became to be. Very interesting story. Even though it was raining, we were offered umbrellas. The tasting room was mask-free and we were able to try anything we really wanted too. There were 4 of us. We spent alot $$ there on some red wine, rose sparkling(dry,) a wooden box with ice wine and it came with 2 glasses. Over $200.00, we were offered a free ice wine. Angelo and the wine were the best part. The only downfall is that there is No elevator. So if you have a walker, cane or other mobility aid, it is not advisable as there are many stairs on the tour. When reserving, telephone operators should advise people of this fact when booking. She's 87 and it was a definite struggle. Wine tasting? No struggle. Thank you Angelo!

Been coming to Niagara for 15 years and this was the first time I went since I like to avoid the tour buses. Wine did nothing for me but the staff was excellent. Wine seemed over priced relative to others down the street and not even close to as good.

Had a great tasting experience at Pillitteri. Had the opportunity to try four wines each at a price of $20 per person. The check in was quick (was pre-registered), and quick seat. There's a choice of 3 different sets of wine containing four each - with an optional set for a hefty upgrade. The wines were great - we had the Experimental Flight. The white racina barrel-aged chardonnay was really good (not typically a white wine drinker) while both the reds cabernet melot and syrah were on point. Would definitely recommend, and would enjoy coming back. Only small problem was the seating, was basically seated at a wine barrel which was very small and difficult to fit wines and any foods.

This is my second time visiting the first time was last year during the pandemic when they did not have any wine tasting or tours available this time I came back and I was able to get the tour and experience the restaurant next door called barrelhead. Such a lovely estate they are very kind and friendly you can roam and take pictures they're also very informative. Shout out to Sean who was our tour guide and wine taster he was very kind and shout out to Tatiana who was our server at barrelhead we had a very good time. The tour and wine tasting was $30 per person which is very reasonable

We haven't been to visit this winery I quite a few years. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The wine was weak and lacked body and depth. The staff were not very friendly and we felt rushed. Very seldom I post a negative response, but feel I needed to speak my opinion. I feel it still is a good winery, but hope it was an off day for the staff.

Discovered Pillitteri on the way to Niagara on the Lake with my family from the GTA. Did a tasting - amazing icewine - and the atmosphere, live music and wood oven pizza at the restaurant Barrelhead in the cherry orchard was amazing. A must-visit.

They also provided a nice meal if you are thinking of organizing and event here. Make sure to buy some ice wine before you go.

Went there on a self guided tour with my girlfriend . We noticed they did not like Asians . Even though we really enjoyed their wine, we could not purchase a wine from the service we received . The older gentlemen that served us did not explain the wines like they did for the caucasians. He literally just said here's the wine , and that was it. He even reused the same cup without even rinsing out the old wine that was in there. Until they can change how they serve Asian customers , I do not recommend supporting this company at all.

The Pilliteri Winery is an amazing experience! First off, their customer service and customer experience during the pandemic is exceptional. We were looking to do wine tasting the day after Christmas, and they were very helpful and honest about the process, unlike some other wineries in the area. The wine tasting experience itself was the best I've had! We had a group of 6, and each person was allowed to choose their own set of wines to taste. They have amazing reds and ice wines that are just divine! I highly recommend this winery for your next wine tasting experience. Will definitely come back and do the tour as well!

Pillitteri was more than a half dozen wineries into our self planned tour of the region. Our experience was lacklustre from the start — a crowded waiting area, coupled with a disinterested looking front clerk was not a good start to the experience. The tasting experience itself took place in one of their many tasting rooms (two parties to a room). While the covid shield was a good protective measure, the server took no time nor effort to describe the wines being served, and provided far more attention to the other group in the room (though even then, far from ample). The experience ended relatively quickly, which we were thankful for. I’d highly recommend staying away from this one — there are countless other wineries in the region that provide a more intentional tasting experience with warm, inviting hospitality. For the time and money, it’s better to avoid Pillitteri entirely, instead of gambling in hopes of a server who will take you through a proper tasting. Two stars for a complimentary glass of rosé. Of the dozen wineries visited, this one was by far the worst of the lot. Edit: Upon reviewing some of the 1-2 star reviews, it appears that poorer experiences are isolated to one of the older servers (an older gentleman who appears to be xenophobic?). While I won’t be changing my review (as it accurately describes our experience), this is something visitors should be aware of.

I’ve been to wine tasting tours before, this one is supposed to be the official wine of the Winter Olympics. We came as part of a tour group, the staff was very accommodating, providing us the tasting sessions in multiple languages. Not just the ‘usual’ samples, we had some people in the group express preference for other wine types and they let us try their version of it too. Friendly staff, good wine, and a clean store so definitely five stars!

Wine tour of Pilliteris on the weekend. Apart from enjoying the wine tour and the wine, the best part was lunch at the Barrel Head on the patio beside the entrance building. Calabrese pizza was outstanding, made in the outdoor pizza oven surrounded by green fields and trees and blue sky. A slice of heaven on a warm summer day. This was one of the best tastings and winery to buy from- we have been to a total of 15 wineries and have compared prices and quality. At first from the outside this place didn’t look all that but don’t judge the book by its cover! We went inside and were shocked to see how nice it was. It was also the official sponsor of Team Canada ???????? for the Olympics. We tried their wines and even got a bottle of Gewürztraminer Riesling to take back and that bottle was less than $14!! On top of that the tasting was free because we bought a bottle but the wine definitely was extremely good quality for the price!

My girlfriends and I had a great time on a half day wine tour on Saturday. The Pillitteri Estates Winery was definitely the favourite of the 3 we visited. I bought the Cabernet Franc, but I regret not purchasing the rosé too. I'll definitely have to stock up next time and stay for the apparently legendary pizza!!! I plan on booking a wine tour with my boyfriend and another couple in the fall, so I hope we can come back to this one! Andrew was our guide there, and he was awesome!! Pet friendly! Most places we were looking to taste wine at weren't pet friendly. . (Other 3 pet friendly wineries were Small talk, konzelman, and Palentine) Although you can't bring your dog inside to do the wine tasting, you can grab a glass (or bottle) of wine and enjoy it on the patio. The staff was super friendly as well. One of the ladies was walking by and asked if she can bring a bowl of water for our dog. Overall great experience and would go back.

The Art of Management

The staff and the service at Pilliteri Estates Winery were very knowledgeable and helpful. The family history and how the generations all pull together to create sustainable wines is impressive. We even got to meet the father Gary Pilliteri who started the whole winery many years ago. The wine taste testing along with the education helped us understand the quality and choices of their selections. Additionally, we had the pleasure of eating lunch at their patio restaurant in a cherry orchard at the winery called Barrelhead. We chose two different pizzas which were stunningly true Italian pizzas that were unbelievably good. Definitely the best winery to visit on the tour.

The wine selections were a little rare, such as a merlot with hints of black pepper. My favorite was the merlot with hints of mango and berries, which also had a sweetness rating of five. The overall experience at this winery was excellent. Upon entering through the market place that showcased fresh local fruit, I went in to a room filled with awards and trophies for best winery in previous years. Next, I moved on to the wine cellar where I was able to try three complimentary wines of my choice. The server was excellent and cultured. I had just visited the Trius winery that day and I must say this winery may not be well know but it surpassed my expectations.

Coming here on a Monday morning was a pleasant surprise. We had the entire patio to ourselves. Our host was happy to chat with us and walk us through every wine in great detail. The tasting comprised of 4 wines from their list. In addition to that we were offered a sparkling wine to start and an ice wine to finish. The sparkling wine was clean and crisp like a good one should be. The white and rosé wines were very easy drinking blends. They had very well balanced blends in their red wines too. They are the largest Estate ice wine producer in the world and surely know what they’re doing there! If you don’t believe me, you need to try the Syrah ice wine.

The tour starts right on the scheduled time, starts with wine farm tour. Then, we were taken inside the manufacturing plant and then back to the main store for wine tasting. We had chance to learn about the wine production methods; risks and privileges during the production period, types/quantities that are produced at the winery, the family/firm's background etc. A random pick turned out as a fine Saturday afternoon after all. We went to Gretzkys yesterday and the place is so commercialized compared to pillitteri's. Pillitteri's has a vintage 2012 and it's big, bold and full bodied. It's worth it. Keep up the good work!!!

Visited here on a day trip out to niagara falls. I can't remember exactly how many tourists' pictures I photobombed but it must have been quite a few. The vintners here make an unusual red ice wine that has only been successfully made a few times. So I came home with a bottle of it and haven't seen another bottle like it since. You'll enjoy the time here, learn a lot about ice wine and generally have a nice time.

Worth visiting this winery just for the ice wine. They are famous for it and yes, it’s the best red ice wine experience. I went there twice for tasting (2016 and 2018) and end up buying 2 bottles of red ice wine. The Vidal white ice wine is alright - but my favourite bottle is from Pondview, a close-by winery.

We went for the complimentary tour and wine tasting. We were shown the vineyard, and had the process of making ice wine vs regular wine explained. We were shown the machinery used to crush grapes, and the temperature controlled cats where the wine ferments. Additionally we were shown the wine cellar, and some of the history of the pillitteri family was explained. Finally, at the close of the tour, you are given three samples of their wine; a chilled white, a red, and their white ice wine. A fourth sample, a rose ice wine is offered for $4 ( apparently it is quite costly to produce. ) The gift shop has a variety of wines, as well as an assortment of preserves and honey for sale. Worth a visit if you are passing by.

This by far the best winery we have visited so far. Our tour guide Connor is what made the difference. His knowledge to the whole process of the winemaking and the history of how the winery began added to the experience. Also he was instrumental in our tasting experience. He took the time to explain the differences between the wines and tips and tricks when selecting wines. Wellt definitely be visiting this winery more often.

I have never written a bad review before but in this case I could not give an endorsement to Pillitteri Estates. In fact giving one star is too high a rating.. I placed an online order two weeks ago for a case of wine, fully expecting shipment within that period, as the wine was needed for a planned event. When this shipment was not received within 10 days I emailed Pilliterri explaining my situation, they replied saying I should have it within 2 or 3 days, I have not gotten it yet, so I called them. I have now been told I will not be receiving it when required. I said I could not use it so cancel the shipment and give me a credit. In their words, this cannot be done. I have the option to receive the wine then ship it back, so the onus is on me. I plan to refuse shipment and am now going to call Visa to try and cancel this transaction. Lesson learned, I usually do not order online and will not likely do so in the future. I warn others to beware when ordering online from Pilliterri. within 10

The customer service is super bad. We came with my family from Honduras and they were saying NO to us for all tasting and then people from the region came asking for the same tasting without pay anything and they were saying YES to them. So if you are coming as a tourist I don't recommend this place. I've been to over 20 wineries in Ontario and this is my least favourite. We sat down for our tasting and were not served for a while. After seeing others who came after us being served we approached the staff at the bar who questioned whether we had checked in, which we had. Service was prompt after that, however they didn't seem to know anything about the wine and only used the words "dry" and "sweet". The wine itself is mediocre, albeit priced appropriately.

After an exhausting day touring the large wineries (Jackson Triggs, Trius, Wayne G), we were thrilled to stumble this great estate. Leanne was an exceptional example of phenomenal customer service. She was very knowledgeable, unlike the servers at the other wineries. We were treated with patience and kindness. The wine tasting package #1 was beautifully paired; we purchased a bottle of the Team Canada White to enjoy in our hotel room. We had nothing to “wine” about. Cheers.

This winery produces great wine! One of the oldest in the region, this winery started as a fruit market over 50 years ago. Today it is one of the most sophisticated wineries in the region. Inside the nondescript buildings is a unique wine facility. They have dug a huge basement into the limestone, where the barrels are aged in a natural controlled environment. The fruit market still is part of the winery, and you can get a good variety of local produce here. A great place to visit for tasting, and wine touring.

We visited this past weekend on a wine tour. It was our favourite of the 5 wineries we visited, and our tour guide even told us that it was one of his personal favorites. We enjoyed the wines so much that we returned the next day to buy more (our plan was to just buy our favourite from each winery). We did the winery tour here ($30) in which we were shown the vineyard and different grapes, the fermenting area, barrels, etc. and our guide was so knowledgeable and good at answering questions about the entire process. We then went to a private tasting room and our guide was very generous with the tastings, and I think we tasted 7 or 8 different wines, including ice wine. When we went back, we ended up buying almost all of the wines we tried. We almost did the $20 wine flight without the winery tour, and even though we didn’t do it, liked the way it was organized because they gave 3 different flight options of 4 wines and explained what to expect, instead of just giving you a list and saying “pick 4 from the list”. I appreciate this as someone who is not (anywhere even close to) a wine expert and tend to Google wines on restaurant menus to decide if I may like it or not.

I showed up a little too late to be able to jump on a tour, but it worked out to my benefit as an absolutely AMAZING guide named Cubbie took the time out of his day to run us through what seemed like the entire history and geneology of the estate and all of the grapes that grow there. HIGHLY recommend heading here and trying out the cab sauv ice wine. Use it in a reduction and pour it over some datk chocolate or peanut butter chocolate ice cream and you will be extremely pleased

My sister and I booked a wine tasting at the Pillitteri Estates Winery for Monday August 24th. Upon arrival, we were greeted by such lovely staff at the front. We arrived about 15 minutes earlier than our time slot. They took us right in! Our guide , Jacob took us around the property, shared such rich family history, explained the process very well and added in humour. We had such an amazing experience. We hadn’t realized when selecting this winery that the family is Sicilian, which really resonated with our own Sicilian roots. Jacob taught us how to properly taste wine, notice the scents and everything. We tried a blush, white, two reds and two ice wines. I can definitely say we were both so pleased with our overall experience. Thank you Jacob & thank you to the Pillitteri Estates Winery!

From the moment we arrived we felt unwelcome with my service dog. Employees automatically assumed it was a pet even after showing proof which was insulting and frustrating. Unfortunately they do not know the proper way to handle such cases and should really take the time to educate all staff members especially the hostess. The customer service is terrible. They probably only care about the customers in tour groups. The price is too high for the quality of the wine, compared to some other wineries in the area.

A very great surprise to our NOTL wine escapade, the tour was very informative and Mary Ann was very knowledgeable and the wines unexpectedly great for us. I thought Colaneri Estate winery was going to be our highlight but Pillitteri is a notch or two above.

Jacob gave my boyfriend and I a great tour of Pillitteri Estates Winery. Great variety of wines. Ended up buying a bottle of ice wine. Definitely coming back.
