As you can see its rating is nearly the best one, and it is founded on a very large number of opinions, so we can think that the valuation is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to leave their opinion when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to give scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Winery belongs to the category of Winery.
Owner is knowledgeable and loves to share his wines and expertise. Small family winery. Very good wines ????Mainly open on weekends. A must visit.
Great, knowledgeable tasti g inside a covered, heated patio
Great little winery. Not pretentious like many of the other Niagara wineries. Great wine at a fair price for the quality. We’ve actually taken our young kids here several times and the owners are always so welcoming to them. Oh and their rosé is amazing!
You WILL NOT FIND a finer family that loves making fine wines, cares about its history,,the significance of honesty and integrity, and us not afraid of hard work and enjoying life...the least we can do is enjoy some of the best wines that the Niagara region could possibly create
Stopped by Leaning Post on a whim during a little weekend getaway and what a great discovery. The tasting room staff are friendly and knowledgeable and we were glad to have them guide our choices. We tasted their lineup of experimental wines - the Riesling, Pinot and Merlot were real standouts for us. So great that smaller producers are pushing the envelope and embracing artisanal production methods. We'll be happy to order wines from Leaning Post in the near future!
We were pleasantly surprised! Jackie was knowledgeable, attentive, and really guided our tasting. The winery is off the beaten path but we'll worth a visit!
Toby is the man
Thank you Victor for your expertise! You were passionate and informative but mostly we liked that you kept us smiling and laughing . Great wines. We'll be back for sure!
In A Nutshell: -Did you know that the Niagra Falls area is wine country? -Leaning Post Wines was a very nice find as we entered wine country on the way towards the waterfalls. -This boutique winery offers memberships (which we joined!). -They have very tasty wines, plus some experimental ones too. -The customer service here is TOP-NOTCH and very FRIENDLY. Overall, make sure you bookmark Leaning Post Wines when you visit Toronto/Niagra Falls.
I live in the area and had the chance to visit a couple of times. This is a nice find, the wines are very good and decently priced. Open mostly weekends and they are very accommodating with questions to help you select the right bottle for you. Do not let the appearance of the storefront deceive you, it is very rustic of course but I would rather go here than most in the area. It is just a couple of minutes from the QEW by the 50 road exit and it was open on holidays too.
We were pleasantly surprised! Jackie was knowledgeable, attentive, and really guided our tasting. The winery is off the beaten path but we'll worth a visit!
Great wines and very friendly host.
Nice little cute winery.
Hands down a winery that is both great atmosphere and great product. Ilya/Nadia/Ace/ Ryan are all extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. We are always treated with a big hello. They offer that any visitor a full tasting at no cost and no pressure to buy. The tasting room is a quaint barn with tons of charm and character. This a is a must stop for anyonw who is into wine or learning. They are always more than happy to explain and teach the different nuisances of their wines.
Really impressed - delicious Riesling and Syrah!
Stopped in here, unplanned, but needed a bottle for dinner. I did not taste anything, but blindly picked up a bottle. I found their wines a little pricey for my budget, but the Cuvée Winona I bought tasted lovely and well worth the $25 price tag. The setup to the side of the building for tastings looked fantastic and I wish I had time to sample. Leaning Post Wines looks like a lovely vineyard and my initial taste confirms I will be returning there to sample more..
Amazing wines and great customer service. Knowledgeable staff run very informative tastings. Great value in their wines too. It's a must visit winery.
Great wine ans great host. Should of spat out some of the wine but heck we got only one life. Btw I'm not driving ;-)
Great place, great wine, great staff, We really lovee that place. A must!!!
The staff was very helpful and gave us wonderful tasteing tops for the wine and also other wonderin we would enjoy in the area
Producer of some of the most notable wines in the region. Tasting room and store. Limited parking
The best winery!!!
Excellent, unique wines and top-notch service, with a lovely outdoor patio.
Great small winery -a plus in this region- with a good variety of wines. Anaïs was very knowledgeable about each wine and made our experience even nicer. One of my favourite experience so far in all Niagara region. Our personal favourites were the riddling the fifty Chardonnay which was unique and the Pinot noir.
Great knowledgeable staff. Great product.
Staff is courteous and knowledgeable, the wines are okay.
Love this little winery!! Lots of little goodies for purchase too!
Wonderful little winery. The wines are fantastic and the service is phenomenal.
Amazing wine, awesome friendly staff ... highly recommend ????????
A little out of the way but absolutely worth the drive to meet Ilya and Nadia who will passionately present the variety of wines they offer. I had heard they offer some of the highest quality wines in Niagara and the rumours held up! My trunk was full of 2017 Pinot Noirs and other fine offerings when I left! Had a wonderful afternoon enjoying the property and the well versed staff
Wow great white wines! Love the barn.
What a lovely little winery! We had a tour and wine tasting that was very interesting with lots of useful information as well as delicious wines.
Leaning Post make simply extraordinary Pinot Noir, possibly the best in Ontario. Try for yourself, you will be blown away.
Lovely wine tasting outdoors. Good breeze. Have a delicious charcuterie box to complement wines. Amazing pickled cherry tomatoes! Came home with 7 wines.
Loved our experience! Even amid covid we were able to taste a few mew wines. Staff are super friendly!
Really cute place! Natalie (I think that was her name, I'm awful with names) was super sweet and knowledgeable. She made some very good suggestions for local areas to check out. We bought their gamay red and the clockwork white, delicious! Will definitely come back.
Great place, great owners! I always bring my guests here on the weekend for a quick tasing. They know their wine and are passionate about their vocation. Good work!
Amazing wines with warm and welcoming owners and staff! I would highly recommend this winery to anyone looking for some great tasting, high quality wines.
Amazing wines! And love to support my local uki's!
Great wine. Great people. The sparkling wine is absolutely on par with France. Wine for wine drinkers and a great delight. Very proud that our Ontario region makes wine of such quality.
One of the best wineries in Ontario. Everyone who works there is so passionate. Definitely a must visit!!
(Translated) Excellent Pinot Noir! (Original) Excellent Pinot Noir!
One of my favourite wineries. Cozy, great people to talk with (and very knowledgeable!) and love the winery cat here. We always try and stop here on our way back to Toronto.
Consistently excellent experience, wines, and service. Some of the most knowledgeable staff in any winery in Niagara. A personal favourite for several years now. Can't go wrong with a visit here.
If you enjoy Pinot Noir, do not miss this gem. Compare with your favorite Pinots from US and France and prepare to be impressed A new patio area means lots of room to enjoy the wines on offer. We were fortunate to enjoy a tasting even though we arrived very close to closing time. It was a perfect day to sit on the new patio. While we came for the Pinot Noir, we started with the Sauvignon Blanc. This is a lovely example with a beautiful nose. Crisp with citrus (lime) and gooseberry. I think the best Sauvignon Blanc I have tried in Ontario. There is an experimental Sauvignon Blanc that was fermented on skins. An interesting wine with a noticeable tannin that comes across as black tea. Perhaps with food but not to my taste. Certainly worth trying . We also tried the Petillant Naturel made from 100% Muscat Ottonel. A very interesting wine and very drinkable. A very light carbonation created by in bottle fermentation. A lovely nose and complex flavors. Very floral. As time was short we tried three Pinot Noirs. The Fifty is a lovely everyday wine that is what a Pinot should be . Fruit from five different vineyards are used for this wine. Very approachable and a wonderful nose. Raspberry and cherry very noticeable for me and others. Good value. Next was Pinot Noir Lowrey Vineyard. The nose has some floral/fruit and noticeable mushroom, damp forest floor notes. More fruit on the palate with raspberry and cheery standing out. Fine tannins. The wine spent 16 months in barrel. Another wine that should age but you will probably want to enjoy it sooner. Finally Pinot Noir Senchuk Vineyard. This is a wine made from hand picked and hand sorted grapes. The quality really shows. Strong cherry on the nose with an earthy note as well. Beautifully balance wine that should age well. Should work well with perhaps lamb or roast duck. Or just sipping on a special occasion. We had a great guide to the wines and sadly could not try many of the options available. But that just means another trip. Great staff and great wines. Be sure to visit.
Ace led us through an exhaustive and very educational tasting! She not only was very knowledgeable and informative but also a lot of fun! So many great wines - I wanted to bring all of them home. So happy to see this young winery doing such great things.
Friendly service with a great selection of wines. Worth the trip!
Very unassuming from the outside but a surprisingly wonderful experience inside. Very friendly staff; we had the pleasure of being helped by Jackie who made our experience memorable. Lots of enthusiasm and knowledge about their many wines, and the time and care taken to produce some truly stunning vintages. Great recommendations and a beautiful atmosphere.
Great wine and great people. The whole family lived it. Great for novices and afficiandos alike.
Would give this place six stars if I could. This was a really cute little winery with excellent tasting options. A lot of the vineyards in this region have bar tastings, but this place has sit down tastings more like what I’ve seen in Napa and Sonoma. The wines were amazing and I would recommend getting the charcuterie box. Our wine tasting guide Jackie was great! I will definitely be coming back.
Went for the wine tasting, which was very reasonably priced. The staff was knowledgeable and we learned a couple of things in addition to trying some great wine. Highly recommend the experience
If you are ANYWHERE near this area, this is a place you need to stop at. We have gone here several times over the past few years and really enjoy the small rustic tasting room and the friendly staff. The place does not seem to have a huge WOW factor aesthetically, but the customer service and the wine will wow you for sure. Our absolute favorite here is the Pinot Noir. We have tried several different vintages including ones from the Lowrey Vineyard and all of them have been phenomenal. We make sure to stock up on our reds, specifically the Pinot Noir here and will continue to do so in the future!
Probably one of the best wineries I have been too. Very cozy and well priced. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and most importantly the wine is delicious. We left with 5 bottles. This was my second time going and definitely plan to go again.
Wines are great! Have been here many times before. Experience all round very enjoyable. Will visit again & again & again!
(Translated) Intimate tasting, beautiful variety of wines to taste for free (4 per person, up to 8 if we share the tasting with his lover). The place is very friendly and the wines are delicious and affordable. (Original) Dégustation intime, belle variété de vins à déguster gratuitement (4 par personnes, jusqu'à 8 si l'on partage la dégustation avec son amoureux). L'endroit est très conviviale et les vins sont délicieux et abordables.
Such knowledgeable and friendly staff! Loved the rustic feel of the space and the wines were fantastic. We will definitely be back!
Quickly becoming one of my favourite wineries! Wide variety of interesting wines. Especially enjoy their sparkling, Gamay, and many of their Pinot noirs. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Excited to try the new releases!
Visited a month ago,I have been here before and have had good experiences. I was shocked that the price of the wine has gone up 100%. I ended up paying $45+ for a bottle of wine. They are charging more than a 1st cru wine from Burgundy. That is crazy. Burgundy wine is far superior to a wines from Grimsby Ontario. Sorry to have to write this review but they need to adjust prices to reflect the market.
Amazing wines, great tastings and greeted by chickens! The on-site staff have an extensive knowledge of the Niagra wine region and you will not be disappointed with their product. Small winery gem!
Awesome stop, wines are great and the host is friendly and passionate!
Amazing wines and staff. So happy we came across them.
Small but precious. Amazing host Jill. Very knowledable.
Loving this place. First the owners are from Winnipeg and were displaying a jets jersey. Nice touch. Staff were helpful in locating a great bottle of wine. Samples were free and this allowed me to pick between two great wines.
It was my first time at the winery today and glad I went. Some very tasty and reasonably priced selections. The Sauvignon Blanc was particularly noteworthy as I don't usually drink wines that are 100% that grape. Natalie was awesome too. Warm and very detailed in her descriptions. Can't wait to go back as they're expanding the property with some exciting sounding renovations.
Great Find. Pinots and Chards were great, wine tasting experience was excellent, Five Star Experience
This is a great family-owned winery in Stoney Creek. Tastings are free. It is a low-key experience which I appreciated - a nice contrast to some of the larger producers in the area. The wines we sampled were excellent - it's definitely worth a visit.
Definite place to check out for anyone in the area. Love their selection!
very nice place, wine best !!! and good owners
Great wines and amazing service. Their experimental wines are so good and worth the visit. It is a tiny tasting room, but absolutely beautiful. I make the detour every time I visit the area.
Victor is knowledgeable and was very helpful in guiding us through our tastings. We were a group of 4 and each of us have different tastes. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Amazing wine.
Awesome!!!
