Got there just in time to miss the Sonora room restaurant, fortunately they have a new picnic thing where you get a mix of dips, bread, charcuterie, pasta salad & potato salad. The charcuterie & dips were really good, but the two salads were only okay. The views from their deck are fantastic though!

Visited today and had the picnic on the patio which was really tasty and great value, our server was awesome! A great concept to use the conference/event space during covid restrictions. Also picked up a lovely bottle of red :)

Excellent service. We had a reserved wine-tasting with Steve. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! We bought a few bottles of their delicious wine and then had the privilege of eating dinner in their lovely restaurant. The service was fantastic! I wish I could remember our server’s name, but have forgotten. He was great! The food was delicious. We had their cherry salad, charcuterie board and Arctic Char. The property is gorgeous and we hope we can return to stay in their accommodations next time! Be sure to go up the observation tower. Lovely view! Thank you, Steve & staff. :)

Beautiful winery, decent wines. I don't think they blew my mind, but they were really good for a wine which is being a wine.. nothing overly special about it except that it is a well-made bottle of a standard wine. The Merlot was enjoyable as well as the dessert wine - Coruja. Wines here are pricy though for what you are buying. The tasting fee to taste the whole selection is $6, and it all goes to the burrowing owl conservation effort which is really nice!

We arrived at the restaurant roughly a quarter to 1 in the afternoon on a holiday Sunday, asked if we had reservations which we did not. They would not be able to seat our party of 4 until 2pm. We waited by wandering around. Stopped back at 1:45 pm to see if a table was available, were told again 2pm sharp. Seated at 2:05. Were waited on fairly promptly. We ordered our food, 3 mains and 1 appetizer. Small portions, good flavor but the appetizer was little more than a plate of garnish and they charged $17 for something that looked like a "sneeze in a plate". They also charged absurd amounts for their own wine which they don't have to even ship or market it. I think they think this is downtown Vancouver and they are a five star restaurant which they are not.

Drove from Kelowna for a tasting for my friend’s birthday who loves their wine. We we’re running late and called to let them know but never received a call back. Showed up and they were closed! It was 3:10pm on a Saturday ;( maybe change your hours on google?

My girlfriend and I stopped in for a tasting and tapas. We had a poor experience overall. The woman serving us in the tasting room was giving us canned descriptions and short answers when we asked questions about their wine. Our tasting was under 5 minutes long and we like we were being rushed to finished. To top it off, she started filing her nails. As we headed to the dining room, we had just missed our window for tapas. We waited for dinner service. We stood at the entrance, and were not acknowledged for a couple of minutes. With a sour taste in our mouths, we decided to take our business down the road — to Black Hills Winery (try the ratatouille pizza and charcuterie board). With so many great wineries in the area, we highly recommend exploring the area before defaulting to Burrowing Owl.

We dropped into the wine tasting room understanding that it was unlikely a spot would be available. However we were interested, nonetheless, in purchasing some wine. The three persons with whom we interacted were unfriendly and unwelcoming, bordering on rude. I would certainly be reluctant to return given there are more welcoming and friendly wineries in the vicinity.

Tasting experience was amazing. “ Victoria” was the host and made the experience perfect. Ask for her ! Knows her stuff. Best experience for the $ Have not yet tried the Restaraunt .

Peter

Magical place with amazing wines, great food and equally great staff. A must if your in BC wine country.

We enjoyed a standout experience at this winery as we were able to enjoy quality wine as well as an educational experience related to wildlife in the area. Their venue is spacious and can accommodate many tasters at once. We took home a bottle of Pinot Noir and recommend you try it too. Cheers!

There was not a warm and welcoming feel in the tasting room. I understand that Covid has changed the landscape of business, but many businesses have managed to still rock it! Not so much here. The reception was cold, the wines are ok and certainly not worth the high price tags. The vistas are beautiful, our server, Alexandra, at dinner was fantastic and the meal was good but not great.

Phenomenal place to stay, good wine, and cute owl dishes

5 stars for the view, the nice gentleman that seated us and the food. 1 star for our female server. She didn’t greet us nicely, we asked about the roses and wines and said we had never been or had them. She didn’t offer anything up except the rose is sold out in the tasting room. When she brought the wine she didn’t ask who would like to taste just poured into a random glass. She brought our appetizers and didn’t describe them nor did she ask how we liked the rose. She brought our lunch plate and when we went to touch it it was burning hot. She didn’t bother to warn us. She had a scowl attitude the entire time. We didn’t feel welcome at all. When we let her know we were ready to pay the bill she told us we had to wait until she swept the noodles off the floor at the next table. The nice gentleman who seated us came over and asked us how we were and where we were from. The server came over for us to pay and we actually were ready to give a decent tip but she couldn’t split the bill for us using the machine. Which by the way the last restaurant we were at in the morning did it for us no problem. We paid our bill and left. She was so foul in her demeanour and lack of kind service it really made us upset. We loved the view and the food was delish. If we were to come back we would be sure she wasn’t any where near our table.

What a great experience for us party of 4. It was our first time, but not the last . Wine tasting was great considering all wines, red and white, are delicious with excellent taste . Besides we had lunch at its restaurant and such a great menu and great choices in the menu. Rachael gave us a friendly and very professional service. Thumbs up for BOEW.

We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was amazing along with the wine and dessert. The servers were also very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and meals, we will definitely be going back.

Staff are very professional, efficient and friendly at the tasting room, dining room and at the hotel. We loved the room. It was well appointed, spacious, great view and included a complimentary bottle of chilled wine in the bar fridge. Enjoyed the lovely pool too. An excellent included breakfast was served to the room under Covid rules. The restaurant is outstanding with tables around the balcony and a view of the vineyards and valley. The main course selections are limited but diverse. We enjoyed the tenderloin, duck breast, and arctic char. Scallops were done perfectly and the garden salad with heirloom tomatoes was delicious. A bit pricey but the overall experience is 100%

Was recommended to have dinner or lunch here ! Booked a lunch and wine tasting ! ( I made a mistake online for wine tasting , ( was the next day ) and the kind lady tried her best to fit us in ! A lovely couple asked us to join them , which was super special ! The lunch was amazing and one of the best I had in the okanogan ! The waitress was amazing as well ! This whole experience was amazing ! The view , the outdoor patio for lunch , tasting , and of course the amazing wine !They even have an online menu to look at ! Very Covid safe ! Was impressed !

Phenomenal dinner with exceptional service. The attention to detail was incredible. My rib eye was delicious, and the dessert, perfect. Thanks for making our tenth wedding anniversary so special.

The restaurant is sublime. The service, the view and the food combine into an experience that is truly unique. A patio seat is a must and sunset is the preferred time for your visit. Watch the sun set, casting shadows along the valley and vineyards. Have confidence that the cocktail you ordered as an aperitif is exactly how you expect. The wine list is diverse and not strictly Burrowing Owl (but why would you?). Our party ordered items off the menu and the daily specials and everything was beyond our expectations. The plating is Instagram worthy and the tastes will make you wonder why the prices are so low ($25 - 30 for an entree). Everything is fantastic. Just book a reservation, get a patio seat if possible and enjoy.

We have been trying to make it out to Burrowing Owl for many years and finally had the time today as we were driving through the area. The tasting room only had one other couple inside and they said they were unable to serve us for 2 hours. Disappointing.

I'm from Vancouver to your winery your clerk didn't show enthusiasm to serve us so we didn't bought any wine that was very unfortunate.

We've been coming to the Sonora Room restaurant every summer for years. It's the nicest place to meet family over good food and wine. The charcuterie boards are a family favourite. Recommend making a reservation!

peter siemens

We came here to check out the winery and do a tasting. Looks like a beautiful place to stay as well!

Cyndi Ternovoy

Fantastic wine. Great staff. A good time had by all. Then we had dinner. A real treat. Worth going.

I'm disappointed I have to give three stars. The lady guiding our wine tasting was super friendly. At the restaurant, the service was friendly, the view from the patio stunning, and the charcuterie board we had was the best I have had in a long time. However, the lamb I ordered was practically rare in spots and I prefer the meat a little more cooked; it felt like I was eating raw meat in spots. Disappointing because the rest of the experience was enjoyable, but I had was unable to eat about 2/3 of my main. If they're going to cook something rare, in my opinion, the server should notify at the time of ordering or ask what doneness you would like the meat cooked to.

Directed our family to this business for their 1st wine tasting experience They came back embarrassed and will not be back, neither will we. If you don't fit the "classy" style.. you are treated rude and as if you don't belong.

Scott Digel

Took 50 minutes for soup and salad, when we finally got them they were good. Friendly staff.

Will Cinz

We came for an 8:30PM dinner reservation and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, even with us being one of the last tables. They warned us that bugs come out around this time and offered us bug spray (which I we gladly took). Food …

Michael Bailey

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful. The guest rooms are well appointed, food and wine exceeded our expectations and employees friendly and inviting.

David Cox

Had lunch there. Very nice view of the valley and vineyards. Very expensive but I guess that is to be expected. Small portions. Service was good. Friendly staff. Suggest reservations during this time. I heard they were short staffed so would not overbook. Good management obviously!

Me and my family came to this place on October 13th. We purposely came from Vancouver to purchase some wine. We would like to taste some wine at the showroom before we purchase. We arrived at 3:07pm at the showroom and they refused to serve us. The reason they gave us is, they close at 4pm, so they do not have time to serve us. Me and my family got so disappointed and left. We had a really bad experience on how they treat their customers. We will never come back again…..

Brad Roulston

Beautiful buildings/ setting with a view to match but dining was quite expensive for small portions.

Paul Duchaine

Good variety of wines and friendly staff. Their port was really nice. Their reds however; needed more time to age.

Mike Syms

Staff very friendly, manager very nice and accommodating, they fitted us in just before the lunch menu. Only negative side my kids order a dish of pasta they were not happy with the quality of the food as kids can be picky eaters. The staff sent a replacement which was nice. When discussed with the Manager prior to leaveing he made us feel as valued customer and we left with a great feeling. Two thumbs up to Terry and Burrowing owl.
