To this day the firm gets a score of 4.7 stars out of 5 and this rating was based on 37 reviews.

You must have seen that the average score it has is virtually the highest, and it is based on a high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the evaluation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.

You know that we don't usually stop to write evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

My wife and I went for a wine tasting at this winery. It's a beautiful property with a cozy atmosphere. We had a glass of wine while warming up by the outdoor fire, then did the wine tasting, then chopped down our Xmas tree (owner approved of course). Owners are lovely people, it's worth a visit!

Great time, great Wine

Excellent winery with friendly staff, a beautiful location and nice local wines. We did the wine and chocolate tasting and had a great conversation with the hostess (Anne). Especially enjoyed the merlot and the ice wine. Note, grab the ice wine while you can, it's a great deal at 36$. We also took advantage of the hiking trails which wind through both forest and vineyard. A great way to spend a few hours in the afternoon.

Beautiful site in Aberarder near Forest, Ontario, off Hwy 21N. It's a new winery that has very creative approaches to wines, flavours, aromas, etc. Most of their wines can be tasted for a small fee. They also host outdoor events. It's a picturesque spot.

This place is one of those great hidden treasure with fabulous wine an outdoor patio with a wood fired pizza oven and a great gift shop. I was one of those people that would say I don’t like ontario wine but now after tasting and buying a few bottles of their wine I’m hooked. The place has a wonderful laidback atmosphere and Anne is fabulous to chat with.....knows her stuff!! Looking forward to taking friends there. ????????

Stopped in for the first time to grab a few bottles of red wine and the staff handed out Halloween candy to the kids. They also have a trail to hike and explore which we will try next time

The property is beautiful, and the patio was lovely to relax on with a glass of wine. The pizza situation, however, was a bit of a let down. We were warned not to order one of the five options as it had been "hit and miss" as far as cooking goes. So we ordered two other types. The first one came out perfect, the second one came out burned on the crust and completely uncooked in the middle. This is understandable due to the type of oven being used, but then when we told the server she simply said she would take it away and remove it from the bill. She did not offer to remake the second pizza (we were a group of three, so one pizza was not nearly enough for us). We ended up having to go somewhere else for a meal. Other than that the girls working there were all lovely, the wine was great, and we had a great time! I would certainly recommend anyone to check it out (just make sure to order the spinach and feta pizza)!

What an absolute pleasure stopping at this winery this past Saturday. While the weather was cold, the hospitality was warm. After picking out our wines inside, we were directed outside where they have two propane heaters and a fire pit. None of them were lit at the time and as it was chilly, I asked if it was OK that I start a fire and they were very gracious and allowed us to do it. We were able to taste three wines each. The highlights for us were the Oaked Chardonnay, the Cabernet Sauvignon and their Ice Wine. All their wines are reasonably priced and good Sun-Thurs wines for your cellar over the holidays. Their gift shop is filled with some amazing items from all over the area and abroad. Take the time to look around and pick up some neat stocking stuffers, high end decanters, or some other treasure. The staff and owners were absolutely lovely, and made our 'cold and chilly' day into a very warm hour by the fire during sunset. We even got to see their beautiful dogs for the last 15 minutes of our visit. Be sure to stop by, set aside an hour if the temp is nice to enjoy the view, and soak up their incredible hospitality. We can't wait to go back.

Excellent day at a winery with much improved wines from our visit when they first opened a few years ago. Good wines, excellent service and nice patio with fall sunshine.

I tried all the reds available to taste just on a whim. The owner himself was very nice and talked up a storm about how hes been starting the only winery in his county and only sells his wines locally. Two of the reds were blends of varietals I was unaware of, and both were a unique experience that reminded me of a more quirky italian red blend. The bordeaux blend was also remarkably good. I didn't take tasting notes but I walked away with 2 bottles. If you're on your way between Toronto and Detroit or thereabouts this is an great little detour. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd love to stop by and try newer vintages.

Marc and Anne are two absolutely wonderful people! I had selected their winery to supply our wedding wine as they were local and just a few minutes from our initial venue. We had over a year postponement and even a very last minute venue change due to covid (4 weeks out) and Alton Farms accommodated every change perfectly. They provided great selections and helped us pair with our food options, gave us complimentary delivery (despite us changing the location last minute on them) and bulk pricing. They offered us and my parents free tastings to try all of their wines (they actually opened whichever bottle we requested) - they did this not once, but TWICE because by the time our wedding could happen it was 18 months past our first tastings and they had new wines to offer. They even went above and beyond and offered their winery as a last minute venue option for our wedding/guests. We cannot say enough good things about these two people and their winery. They are down to earth, very kind and genuine people that provided wonderful service, wonderful wine and were such a delight to work with. We wish we lived closer but we try to support whenever we can. I would highly recommend heading out to try this local winery.

We came as three couples. The tasting was three different wines of your choice. The server was helpful, knowledgeable, and so pleasant. I loved the ice wine so much. The best I have tasted! The outdoor patio was so Idyllic. The unique cork table was incredible. The owners were there and we had a great conversation. I can’t say enough on how we enjoyed our time here. We drive by all the he time and we will make it regular stop. Such a local piece of splendour. If you haven’t tried it you are missing out. We will be returning.

Best winery to spend a Saturday afternoon. Tom on the guitar is great. And Loretta, best server ever.

Visiting Sarnia for a couple of days and googled local wineries. ALTON Farms caught our eye and we are glad it did. Wonderful greating by 3 of their dogs, as a dog person I enjoyed attention as did they. They were so gentle and well behaved they loved my 4 month old Granddaughter. If you are not a dog person they are well behaved and will not bother you. Wine tasting was excellent we tasted 2 white and 1 red ...we bought 2 bottles of the un oaked Chardonnay! Lovely wine! Chatted with the owner very knowledgeable and discussed all 3 of our tastings, as it turns out we were from the same home town of Scarborough, ON. She also recommended the Children's Petting Zoo at the Cantara Park (lovely park and beach just outside of Sarnia. Thanks for the recommendation! We will return to your farm. Highly recommended.

You are having wine with friends you've just met that know about wine and then a walk in the woods for beautiful scenery

Excellent. Groups going back in summer

Owners are anti-mask/anti-vaxx, selling their product without proper PPE in the Sarnia Market. Also had a sign in which they were selling, “Sheep” wine for those who are being smart about this pandemic. I’m sure you’ll scoff and just call me a snowflake but it won’t stop me from letting my review be seen. Very rude when asked to please put mask on.

Gord Marsh

Excellent facility and knowledgeable staff. Will buy all my wine from here from now on.

Had a wonderful time at this quaint winery. Winemaker was very knowledgeable, friendly and kind. Staff was helpful and accommodating. I absolutely love the wine I purchased - the 2018 Bacchus Noir and the 2018 Lucy Kulman.

Beautiful "family owned" estate winery. Everyone is welcome to walk around the vineyard, or hike through the forest on well groomed paths. They have a lovely gift shop and a gorgeous wine-tasting bar. Their daughter Abby was a font of information on special activities held at the estate and also of other local sites and businesses to visit. My family had a lovely afternoon visit at Alton Farms Estate Winery. AND we bought some wine and Christmas gifts. I highly recommend this little gem of a place!
