Here you will be able to see all the reviews of people who have information of the products and services of The Vineyard (Winery) near Alberta (Canada).
At the present this firm has a rating of 4.3 stars over 5 and that score has been based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is quite good, and it is based on a high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the assessment is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to give their opinion when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to set feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Winery is included in the category of Brewing supply store.
Great service and prices.
Best homebrew shop in town.
great place with great service. can't wait to shop there again for more beer making needs
Very knowledgeable and helpful
Everything you'd need to brew anything.
My experience here was good contrary to other reviews. Selection is not quite as good as others and prices are a tad higher (5-10%) but they're in a great location in the south for all the SE/SW brewers!
A lot of supplies. But terrible customer service! !!
I have been to The Vineyard a handful of times for various cider making supplies. The staff have always been helpful and taken the time to answer my questions.
Didn't have what I needed, but staff was very friendly and gave me options on where to go to find what I was looking for as well as general advice on pressure levels and hose requirements. Highly recommend.
Just started getting into whole grain brewing, the staff was very knowledgeable, and willing to answer all of my questions.
Been using this shop for over 10 years. Knowledgable friendly staff, great stock, and good prices.
I have been frequenting this place for 30 years. They always have helpful advice. I have found their equipment selection to be very high quality and they have a great cylinder exchange program for CO2. I would like a greater selection of grains but I trust that the ones they carry have not been sitting around for a long time.
Knowledgeable staff excellent selection of brewing equipment and materials.
Vineyard always helps me when I'm in a pinch.
Quite adequate homebrew shop with some niche items
Lots of selection and fair prices
Had most of what I wantes
Worst customer experience I had in a long time. The lady charged me for the book she used to build my brewing recipe, and wouldn't gave me my money back when I told her that I didn't wanted the book (there's plenty of free recipe online) because, I quote "we don't read a book in a book store without buying it".
What awesome and amazing service. Went in to get a 5lb C02 ... walked out with a wealth of knowledge and about to get an entire home brew kit. Oh yeah... Upgraded from a 5lb to a 10lb... Just makes sense ????
I'm new and wanted to ask a question. No one was able to simply ask me or engage me. I understand you were with customers but that was over five minutes and a simple acknowledgement or do you have a quick question
These guys were super friendly and helped me get my CO2 tanks filled. They seem super knowledgeable as well.
Very patient and helpful:)
Very good store for your wine and beer making needs.
As a beginner/novice all grain brewer I really appreciate the assistance from the staff at the Vineyard. All of my beers made have been a resounding success and I buy all of my ingredients and supplies here. You'll find that you won't need to go anywhere else. Thank you and happy brewing
Very disappointed in there service and extremely disrespectful staff, I phoned them in advance and drove in all the way from Balzac, there was and accident on the road, so I called and told them I was running behind and would be there by 3:05pm because of the traffic, they said no problem and assured me that they would have someone there. Got there at 3:03, knocked on the door phoned twice no one there. How freaking disrespectful to lie to someone who spent 40 mins driving in. There are so many cheaper better options, with actually respectful and knowledgeable staff dont waste your time here
If you are into homebrew. This is the best store in the city I have visited so far. The staff is friendly and helpful.
This is a great store. I have been going to this location for years and will continue to do so for a long time. The interior is exceptionally Clean and not over crowed with useless merchandise. The central location of this store makes it easy to get to from anywhere in the city. They have everything you need for your winemaking needs. I come here to get my C02 filled. They have two options available: either refill your own tank, or swap out a Vineyard tank which is a great option if you don't want to worry about your tank expiring. I recently had a minor issue with a product but the owner was quick to make things right. I'm very pleased with the level of service I receive every time I go here. I will always choose the Vineyard as my go to store for my C02 needs.
Huge variety of supplies and brewing gear. A must go place for brewing ingredients. Friendly staff ready to assist with any questions you may have. They also fill CO2 tanks.
One of Calgary's primary local home brew supply shop. Cowtown yeast wranger's recommended store. Good selection of grains, hops and yeast.
Excellent selection of grains and fermentables. They don't have as large a variety of yeasts as I would like. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good service.
Not the best place in Calgary for brewing supplies. Limited selection of yeast and hops in comparison to other choices. Hops are overpriced. No dedicated grain room, and if you ask for grain without calling ahead, you'll get yelled at. Tried to pick up a few supplies on a weekday, and was followed around the small place like I was going to shoplift or something. Not friendly - worth going somewhere else, trust me.
I went here twice. The first time I would have gave this place a 5 star rating. The first guy was very helpful and knowledgeable. The second time however not so good. I asked for knowledge and recommendations in what to do. The staff wouldn't cared. They would recommend just googling the answers. This was why I was there. They have good stock in what to do but it might take me a while to come back to this place due to the staff. I felt very frustrated and angry after. They do have a good selection and their prices are comparable to Amazon and other home brewing places but the customer service NEEDS to improve. For the sake of the customers please improve. Your store is AWESOME but it doesn't need to be run down by poor judgement.
Great supply store for Beer and Wine home brewers.
Great selection of brewing supplies!
Great people, good selection of ingredients for wine making or homebrewing, pre-ordering is available for all grain bills which helps homebrewers of all sizes!
Very friendly service. We wanted to buy a product but we’re unable as product sold out. They were nice enough to take down our name and number so when product comes in they will notify us.
Great spot for brewing supplies and kits.
This homebrew shop is pretty good. They have a lot of variety in their stock and grains. Though the service tends to be geared at the veteran, much less so for the begginer homebrewer
Great place. Very knowledgeable staff.
They always have what I need. I brew all grain beer and my wife does the wine. Very knowledgeable in both categories. There recomendation on wine kits has been excellent.
Plenty of grain and hops to choose from. Pleasant and helpful staff. Good selection of accessories and equipment.
Love that place!
Always so helpful and friendly!! They carry many things that other wine making stores do not. It’s not a huge location but they have all the basics (and again, the extra odd things that are hard to find). Every step of the way, their team answers all your questions and works with you so that your project end up perfect.
Great home brew store. We buy all our beer and wine supplies there. Very kind and helpful staff.
They sell “Food grade silicone tubing” that is peroxide cured and not platinum cured which leaves a horrible rubber taste in all your projects, amateurs.
Fantastic service at this place. Love going in
Friendly. Helpful. Everything a home-brewer needs. They'll even mill the grain for you.
This is the only place I'll purchase beer making supplies in the city
I started on my new brewing hobby about 6 weeks ago and discovered The Vineyard. I have been to the store several times and spent around 600$ with them. Alas my last visit though will be my last. The service from the male sales assistants has been positive. But there is one woman who works there I can only think has some form of personality issue when it comes to customer service. A male sales assistant called my on Friday to tell me my new C02 tank had arrived (good service). I said I would pop in an hour later to pick it up. I entered the store and recognized the sales guy who had called me by his voice. I spoke with him, mentioned he had called me and said I was there to pick up my new C02 tank. He was serving me and 2 other customers at the time. The female sales assistant was hovering behind him staring at me. He placed the new tank on the counter and was about to take my card when the female assistant server looked at me like I had just crawled out from under a rock and shouted in a loud angry voice “Well what’s your name !!!!! We have many others waiting for C02 !!!!”. The sales guy serving me looked embarrassed and the other 2 customers stopped in their tracks. The sales guy looked at her and said he knew why I was there as he had called me and continued to take my card. She continued her angry rant to me saying “We would need to know your name !!! You are not the only one wanting to pick up C02 !!!”. I looked at her and said “OK”. I finished paying for my tank while her male colleague explained the refills to me as she just stood behind him looking angry at me. The atmosphere was toxic at this point. I am a 47 year father of 2 and am pretty thick skinned but I was extremely embarrassed, angry and annoyed at her behavior toward me. You certainly do not expect this awful treatment as a customer. I assume she is a part owner of the Vineyard as it if it was my Business she would be gone in an instant. The whole thing is just sad. Home Brewing, I am learning fast, is a community and you want to find a store that is friendly, will work with you through this journey and connect with you as its part of the fun. I have a high disposable income for this hobby and I will be spending it elsewhere from now on. I do not recommend The Vineyard and will look to another store to help feed my new hobby.
Store was well organized. It was easy to find what we were looking for, and the staff was very helpful.
Wonderful local winery with beautiful setting and great inventory. Check it out if you love wine and just talking
Was at the store at 5:54PM which is 6 minutes before close. Staff would not let me in. There Business does look good enough to turn paying customers away ... but that is the choice they made
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, always willing to help. Fair selection of grains and lots of keg equipment etc. Selection of hops and yeast are decent but could use a bit more. They were very helpful with helping me to figure out a few beer recipes and got me everything I needed to build a kegerator.
I would probably come here more often if it were not for the irreverent woman that others have also described in reviews and is so often working here. While the supplies are generally good, this staff person is so obscenely offensive, rude, impersonal and impolite, it is enough to put me in a state of "only if I have to". In a day and age where anyone has access to all they could imagine in the brew world from places like Ontario Beer Kegs or where ever, the only chance a business has to really differentiate themselves from a ruthless online market is through exceptional customer service. You certainly will not find that here.
This place has been a very popular place to get any winemaking supplies for quite a long time. If you want to be popular and always get invited to other people's parties, just learn how to make good wine. This shop will help you with all of the supplies and knowledge to make great wine. So essentially, in coming here you are on your way to becoming popular! Lol The staff here are very knowledgeable, approachable and willing to assist you even if it is your first time to brew or your 1000th time. They will make keen recommendations that you may not have previously thought of. What an excellent shop to check out.
Friendly
The staff is knowledgeable, and they seem to always have what I'm looking for. Best LHBS I know of in the South end of Calgary
Awesome place, my number one to get grain. They always have hops in stock and the right yeast. I appreciate that I can call them and they put together my grain order. Thanks :)
Awesome place, I get all my wine and beer stuff from here
Terrible staff
I always love going in this store. Regardless of location the staff has always been friendly and extremely helpful. The store has great stock of products for anyone starting to brew all the way up to experienced brewers. Highly recommended.
They have nice customer service. Their reputation is followed them. I do recommend it to all news brewers whether you are unexperimented or experimented.
Person behind the counter seemed upset that I entered the store and asking questions about products on the shelf. While she was quick putting together the malt request, not the friendliest tone and unmotivated to help.
The largest selection of homebrew gear and ingredients in the city. Lots of experienced brewers and wine makers on staff
The service was excellent!! We told him that this was our first time to make wine and it was going to be crab apple. He could of sold us an expensive model but he said he would not let us buy it. He said for what we were doing it was better to start us off with the kit. We did upgrade a bit to a better model but his knowledge was excellent. He gave us many good tips and told us what we needed to do. I have already recommended this place to a few friends already!! We are definitely going back and recommend all to do so as well!!
Great selection and advice on brewing beer and fruit wines.
The staff ia really kmowledgeable and keen on helping. I get co2 for my keg here which is super convienient, you can also email the owner your grain bill and they will have it ready for the next day whoch makes life a bit easier especially if they dont have a specific malt type you know ahead of time.
[from a home-brewer] Great service. I email my grain bill the night before and it's put together and milled for the next morning (they don't need as much notice as that, but I like to give them flexibility). Very decent hop and yeast varieties.
Absolutely condescending and unfriendly service from the start. The lady at the front was horribly unhelpful and made us feel like an inconvenience for asking where items were. Sorry guys, won’t be back and can’t recommend unless customer service improves.
Great shop. They have been critical in my beer brewing journey.
The place has descent selection. So far it’s the only place I know to get co2 and accessories. There prices seem to be a bit high but if you need something like keg parts in a hurry this is the place to go.
After 15 years for me, still the best place to get wine kits and accessories. Price of beer kits seemed a bit excessive, since they're not significantly better than the old canned kits they used to carry for half the price.
I like this place for their wine kits, but I love them for their grain, hops a yeast selection. Really, I suppose I just like to make beer, but they really do know their stuff and I don't know of any other retail outfit that sells beer making supplies locally ... maybe there are other options, but since these guys are so good, I haven't bothered to look.
Got me fixed up on a Saturday for my kegerator.
Great store lots of help in beer and wine. Found all the varieties i needed for my beer last trip. Thanks
Have only been there twice (once to buy a beer kit and the starter kit of gear) then again to buy a wine kit. Amazing service and the staff is very eager to lend a hand however they can. Very satisfied with The Vineyard.
Great shop for your brewing needs. Always friendly and helpful.
For all your homebrew and wine making need. Friendly staff and very involved in the community. You might find the odd item cheaper on the internet but their prices are reasonable and it's a great opportunity to support a local company.
Helpful staff
There is a large variety of ingredients and wine kits to pick from. Thanks
The staff is friendly at first then the mood changed and is uncomfortable prices are on the higher side.
60... liters... of... crabapple... wine.
Knowledgeable and very friendly staff. A good inventory of wine and beer making supplies. They often have new kits to try.
Editing this to add comments. I have been coming here for a couple months and so far have gotten great service and great product. Have already recommended to friends and will continue to do so
Always friendly and helpful Other places have bigger selection which is why only 4 but lovely place
Very Helpful always willing to help ????
As a beginner all grain brewer all staff were very welcoming and helped us successfully brew our first pale ale.
Pretty much everything you need to home brew. Very knowledgeable staff happy to share information.
Nice selection of items at decent prices.
Meh selection and over priced. Staff seem condescending I agree with other posts. Don't seem interested in providing knowledge or even interested in selling product for that matter. They once recomended a yeast strain that was nothing like the one i was asking about...I buy cause it's close but will likely be going elsewhere in the future. All for buying local but these guys need to step it up. Hope these reviews encourage that.
The arrogance is unprecedented and the customer service is even worse. I am all about supporting local, but not when the owners don't understand simple communication and customer service skills. Buy your stuff online - it is cheaper and you will have a better customer service experience talking to a bot then the people who run this place.
They have an amazing selection of goods for the true beer diy-ers (i.e. made from scratch). Very knowledgeable, super helpful and always approachable and never pushy.
Awesome service and staff provided good ideas
No inventory. That could be a covid issue. Staff were friendly enough but couldn't help or show me 1 item that I was looking for.
Tom is a very knowledgeable, no nonsense man about wine making. He has guided me well ever since I became a regular customer. The store is well stocked and has friendly, helpful staff. This is my go-to store for wine making needs, (and I make hundreds of gallons each year).
I grew beer and this is my favorite brew supply store that I've found in the city. Good variety of specialty grains, hops and yeast that I haven't found elsewhere.
Great staff very knowledgeable. I think their prices are very reasonable and worth a try
Helpful staff with a great selection. Check them out for all your homebrew needs!
Very helpful
I can’t come down on most of the staff there, as most are friendly and like to help, but I don’t know if I just rub the one woman the wrong way or what. I’m pretty new to this and have been gaining most my knowledge out of books and online, but any question I have I get a condescending answer as if I should already know and am just wasting her time. I really want the vineyard to work out for me and be my go to place, but I’m almost starting to dread having to go there unless I absolutely have to...
Nice friendly and knowledgeable staff
the staff are friendly and knowledgeable here. Anyone who says otherwise must be having a bad day or something. Google is your friend. Don't be lazy and waste staff's time because you're too lazy to look stuff up yourself.
Just found this place. Owner seems to be super nice and helpful. Definitely my new place!
Good prices and solid selection.
Good selection for all types for beer brewing with helpful advice.
Thanks to the Vineyard, I have dove deep into the hobby of wine making and distilling. They have a huge selection of ingredients and wine kits to choose from. Friendly staff always help me find what I need and their knowledge definitely helps for when I have questions.
Very good service!
Best place in Calgary for the all grain brewer, hands down. Exotic hop varieties, specialty malts and the consistently best selection of yeast strains in town. If you're thinking of trying your hand at all grain brewing, don't even think of going anywhere else.
I love this place.. staff is always helpful.. they have everything you could need for brewing and wine making... they also refill co2 ... this is my go to place 8 days of the week...thanks vineyard
Ok product selection. Nice people, for the most part. Prices a little high though.
Very helpful staff and knowledgeable about what I needed being new to home wine making. She was extremely patient and able to answer all my questions fully. Great pricing what you get as well.
