In short this winery set the bar for a modern winery. This is a MUST visit if you enjoy wineries as they offer a tour which will really shows you what a very modern winery looks like and runs like. They grow some very unique grapes on the property and these yeild some very unique flavours (in a great way). The building is beautiful and the staff in the tasting room are extremely well versed and professional. The wines again really stand out and that alone made monte creek truly exceptional to me.

Went for a casual late lunch on their spectacular patio. One of their vineyard staff took time to patch our flat tire at their repair shop. That goes above and beyond! The rose' is not typical but excellent.

The wine is pretty good. Our tasting felt a little underwhelming and rushed...could be the Saturday of a long weekend...????

Erin Acton

Beautiful set up overlooking their hundreds of acres of vineyards. The staff were very friendly. It made the tasting that much more pleasant. Plus the story of Billy Miner was entertaining.

Dian Verwey

Great place to sit back, enjoy the view and savour delicious choices for lunch and sipping.

Beautiful views and good collection. Loved the blueberry wine.

I would go back, the new building is really cool- high ceilings and lots of glass with river and mountain view. Monte Creek's wine is quite good. The patio restaurant on a warm sunny day would be great for a special occasion. The menu is small and though the salad was good, I think I expect more for the price charged for salad and add-on small steak. Maybe a little veggie or starch(bun) and I would rate it higher. I think Monte Creek is the best all round winery in Kamloops area.

Jason Coyne

Great wine at great price

Stopped by and got in the winery which btw is beautiful to try some wine which I was hoping to purchase but got turned away because of no reservations. So will never stop again Dommage

I've had the pleasure of working with Monte Creek Ranch Winery on a number of occasions for special events and workshops. They are always professional, timely and detail oriented when it comes to the planning process (often keeping me on track! haha). Their staff are exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and customer-focused. On top of all of this, I love their wines and their tasting room is gorgeous!!

If wish I could give the venue and my experience 100 stars! My husband and I had our elopement at Monte Creek and it was beyond my expectations. The event coordinator, Megan Charlebois, is SO amazing. She was so great at communicating and helping us coordinate everything for our big day; she was so accommodating and made the whole experience stress free. She went above and beyond her job to make the day so special. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and the food was delicious. Thank you so so much for everything - we can't wait to be back to enjoy some more wine on the patio! I highly recommend :)

My wife and I visited the winery today for the first time. We have driven past it numerous times and have looked at it in awe as we have passed. Today we went for lunch. Beautiful property and again. The winery/building. Amazing! The tasting. Delicious wines. The lunch service and lunch... that’s were it seemed to fall short for us. Everything on the outside/property. The building. The tasting staff and for the most part the other servers. Fantastic and spot on for the vibe the winery puts out. But our server seemed... out of place (don’t get me wrong. Nice enough for sure!). The description of my lunch “a ham sandwich”... the wine presentation... then my “ham sandwich” arrived with chips. It was bland. No taste. I had asked if it could be addressed and the chef sent it back out (the exact same one. Not a new one) with a little more horseradish. Still absolutely bland. I would say that this winery has allot of the right ingredients. Just a little more refinement in some areas! I’d like to give it 2.5 stars. And will most likely give it a other chance down the road.

Joel Sykes

Great tasting wine and amazing staff. Decently priced and good value for money. **Update** We bought a case of wine from here and they are still as delicious as the day we bought them. The Hands Up White & Red are amazing for backyard BBQ's and priced well enough to feel good sharing with friends. Also loved the Foch. Do yourself a favour and try them all!

Great winery with a variety of other products. The Hands Up white blend is a great dinner wine. During the summer they have the outside restaurant open.

A place of character the moment one steps in the yard. For a young winery , such a variety on offer from its cellars ! May it be the smart choice in cepage.? In any case the degustion was The revelation. The Frontenac Gris had no pretensions. It surpassed my buds with a ‘ belle rondeur en bouche’. What a surprising achievement ‘Chapeau’. Must admit the 2014 vintage was on showcase. The Lion’s Head did appear clearer over the hill-tops siping through a glass of Hands Up red & Pino . A place well worth the visit for its approach to sustainable development.

Rhianen Warrington

Great tasting room. My only complaint is that it didn't appear that they had a restaurant to have dinner at.

Heather Sickels

What a treat. Free wine tasting when you make a purchase. Delicious wines:)????????????????

Worth a visit! Beautiful view from their very nice facilities. $6 tasting to try 5 wines. Our favourite was the sparkling rosé!

Chris Romnchuk

Great wine

Kelsy Fletcher

Gorgeous place with a wonderful view. They lend out picnic baskets so you could go and picnic on the lawn. The shop has heaps of wine (obviously) that is reasonably priced ($29.99 for the sparkling, same for the ice wine, $15.49 for blueberry wine). And there's lots of cute stationery etc, good souvenirs. You can also taste 4x wine for $5 (unfortunately ice wine is not available for tasting). The recommendation we got was that the sparkling wine is excellent, and we also picked up ice wine and a bottle of blueberry wine because we were curious.

Jennifer O'Driscoll

We dropped in yesterday for a tasting and it was excellent! We tried 4 different kinds for the tasting and were pleased with all of them. The lady (I think Maxine was her name) was friendly and knowledgeable. The riesling and blueberry were fantastic! Definitely worth checking out.

Sarah Meads

Great wines and loved the staff! They are friendly and so knowledgeable. There were a few other vendors outside seeking their products, creating an awesome atmosphere. Beautiful space.

????Monte Creek Ranch Winery Visited this unique winery in a 5-day trip to Sun Peaks, Kamloops. Its around 20 minutes out of Kamloops heading Salmon Arm. From the very beginning, the entrance inspires with a feeling of a real farm. Driving for some minutes, you reach the parking surrounded by picturesque vineyards. The testing center and restaurant reside side by side, overlooking vineyards. ???? You have 9 options to test for $6 and it will be refunded if you buy any wines. 1- Chardonnay Reserve (2018)- $24.99 2- Riesling (2019)- $19.99 3- Hands Up White (Box 2019)- $34.99 4- Sparkling Rosé (2019)- $21.99 5- Rosé (2018)- $18.99 6- Pinot Noir Reserve (2019)- 34.99 7- Foch (2017)- $19.99 8- Cabernet Merlot (2017)- $21.99 9- Blueberry Wine- $17.99 My recommendations (my taste): ????2018 Chardonnay Reserve is unique as after drinking, it tastes in your mouth in 2 phases. First, like regular white wines, yet, after a while a second acidity taste bursts and you’ll enjoy it. I loved it and bought it. ???? 2019 Hands up white would be one of your top choices which is a blend of three other wines. If the Box is available, its worth buying for a better price $44.99) ???? 2019 Pinot Noir Reserve tastes awesome with wood taste at the end. As a big fan of Pinot Noir, you definitely try this. ???? Blueberry wine was my last option to buy and you can’t imagine how different it could be. I love the smooth taste. ???? 2017 Foch is a must to test and even to buy. The taste is like no other. Also, there are many accessories for anyone who is a wine-lover. Go through them and you’ll like many of them. Restaurant atmosphere is special and you can see the vineyards while enjoying your food.

Consistently one of my favourite wineries to visit and only a quick 3hr drive from the Lower Mainland. Unpretentious with great views and wines. The restaurant is always a good idea, where you can enjoy wine flights or a bottle of your favourite on their patio. The Blueberry wine is a surprise with hints of basil, and the Hands Up White is a fabulous patio sipper. Don’t drive to, or through, Kamloops without a stop at this winery.

This is an absolutely stunning winery with a fantastic restaurant, great views, cool merchandise and AMAZING wine. I normally loathe white wine but all of theirs are quite pleasant and their new sparkling wine is delicious! They have so many cool things to do out there and are even adding an amphitheatre to present cultural events. I highly recommend taking a tour or just stopping by for lunch and a tasting

WOW! What a great place to go. Both times we've visited the food has been great, the atmosphere perfect and the weather even better. I would like to thank the staff and owners for being so awesome. Also a big shout out to the wines themselves. I dislike sweet wines and every wine from here has been perfectly balanced but leaning towards dry. The foch from 2017 truly has notes of wildfire smoke in it.

Been here a few times now and I really like the wines... I was a little disappointed in the tasting presentation as compared to the past. We visited with another couple from out of province and had expectations that a little more info would have gone into the uniqueness of your 1 grape rose and the fabulous blueberry wine rather than being told what we are supposed to taste in a wine.

I don’t’ see it. You’re supposed to look out the window, across the highway to the distant hill, and see a lion there. Not a real one, that would be crazy; it’s a geographical feature at one of the vineyards. Nope, don’t see it. I saw the right colors of that dress, but I can’t make out a lion shape on a hillside. I knew Monte Creek Ranch Winery previously from a bottle acquired from a friend. It was distinctive given it came with meat. That wasn’t a metaphor; it came with meat. I appreciated the gift, but I ended up staring bewildered at a bottle with a vacuum-sealing package a meat hanging off its neck. Yes, I am being flippant; it was jerky. This was a ranch first, but that didn’t change that for a long time, we just referred to Monte Creek as the “jerky wine.” My girlfriend and I were on our way back from Kelowna, taking a route through Kamloops when I glanced at my map and realized we were nearing two wineries. It was off a major highway so I was initially concerned how we would merge back to head west. They compensated for that, so all good. I convinced my girlfriend that after visiting 66 wineries since August 2016 we could stand to take in two more. It was in the afternoon, but given it was March, we didn’t expect it to be busy. And it wasn’t; we thought they were closed. Of course, the advantage is that we held the hosts’ undivided attention. This also meant the restaurant was closed. I still don’t see it. The most important aspect of Monte Creek Ranch…wait…can I just call it Monte? Oh my God, I can. Often, I condense long winded winery names to sound funny, but in this case, I can actually call this place Monte. Monte’s most important attribute may not be its wine selection as much as it’s latitude, being the most northern winery still utilizing grapes in Canada. The only other wine I know about is the most northern winery period, Northern Lights in my home town. Monte does utilize fruit, but there are grape varietals that grow in this unique climate. Prospective regions are given a score indicating how successful they can grow grapes. Kamloops squeezes in, but the climate is changing, and the potential growing potential is expanding. How long will it be before grapes become sustainable at higher and higher latitudes? They’re already growing in Norway. No joke, it’s called Lerkekåsa. Climate change is reshaping the reach of viticulture, and I await when my local winery starts planting grapes. And when other wineries reach up to compete around Kamloops, Monte will be there, already ahead of the game. And they sell meat. I was expecting a corrugated steel siding on a barn, not a bell tower and glass walls. This place looks amazing, almost like a miniature Mission Hill. It was strangely ominous being the only vehicle there, walking along paths seeing not a soul. We expected a locked door. The tasting was successful—I was impressed with Monte’s selection, with or without complimentary meat. When I told Doug Bell of Northern Lights that I had been to Monte Creek, he praised the quality of their Blueberry Wine, which so happens to be one of my acquired bottles. The bottle that came with the jerky was a 2015 Hands Up Red. The other two bottles we picked up the location were the 2014 Reserve Pinot Noir Icewine and the truly brilliant 2014 Frontenac Gris Late Harvest, a bottle they apparently no longer offer. The host was memorable, especially when she continually tried to help me spot that stupid lion on the hillside. Still nothing. I appreciate what Monte is doing; it’s succeeding brilliantly. Along with Northern Lights, Monte is a trailblazer offering something unique in a province under threat of repetitiveness. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Chardonnay and Riesling, but few are offering a Frontenac Gris, probably because they feel they don’t need to. Well, they are missing out, and so are you if you don’t visit. Where is that lion?

Lovely place to stop for a wine tasting. Featuring locally grown specialty wines including Rose, Blueberry and Haskap Berry. Friendly and entertaining staff with lots of good stories. High quality products in beautiful setting perched above the South Thompson river. Suitable for large groups and events. I would definitely stop by again.

1) Beautiful scenery; their bar overlooks the railway tracks and their patio faces the Lion Head mountain. 2) Friendly & knowledgeable staff members tell great stories about each wine and the history of Kamloops that it represents. 3) Great wine! A long list of award-winning wines to sample; the blueberry is a unique one that really stood out for us. 4) We decided not to dine here; menu was expensive for small portions, but picnic tables and wine glasses are available if you bring your own lunch. Definitely recommend a visit when in Kamloops.

Traveled here on a whim with 4 others. There was a wedding happening at the location, and the service wasn't noticeable affected. As soon as we walked in a lady greeted us. We looked at some wines and they were able to do samples even with the groomsmen and bridesmaids being served at the same time. The lady who served the wine was very informative and friendly. They wines were very crisp and had their own unique characteristics. A lovely winery, I hope to try the food next time I visit.

Purchased a bottle of sparkling white wine 2016 at the local store to celebrate her birthday. All seemed well until we found shards of glass in our mouth and in the bottom of the glasses and in the bottle. It was different glass than from the bottle and had to be from the production process. It has weakened our resolve to buy local.

The four of us went there for a Fathers day celebration. The service was very good and everyone was friendly. The place was beautiful with a view to match. I enjoyed the Blueberry wine. My husband had the Turkey Club Panini on cranberry bread with fresh potato chips on the side. He really enjoyed the sandwich. Our daughter had the Fraser Valley Greens. She wanted a protein to be added to the salad and the restaurant was most accommodating. I had the Monte Creek Taco. This dish was really good. The taco shells were wonton wrappers in the shape of a taco, loved that! The prawns were cooked very well. I loved the presentation and there was perfect balance of acid in the dish. I also had a side portion of the Fraser valley greens. It had yummy beets, goat cheese, spiced cashews and grape tomatoes. The dressing was bright and refreshing. Our son had the Mortadella Panini. All he could say was that it was blah. Sorry guys. To end off the meal was the lemon & white chocolate tart. It was a very good balance of sweet and tart. The best part was the Oreo toffee crunch. Oh yes the mosquitos were bad today out in the grounds but not in the restaurant. Thanks guys my husband and I will definitely be back.

I have been to this winery quite a few times and every single time they wow me. The staff are very attentive and the wine is fantastic! If you are wanting to impress some family or friends I highly recommend the "hands up red" or "hands up white". The reisling I tried was a bit more dry than the average reisling but it was incredibly tasty. If you have time, I highly recommend sitting outside on their patio and enjoy a glass of wine and some of their fine cheeses. This winery is one of my favorite BC wineries!!!!

We went to the music event at the winery last night, Friday 16 August. Beautiful setting weather was perfect. We went into the tasting centre and opted to try a tasting. The young woman who was serving us for the tasting had rehearsed and learned off all the right attributes of each wine but really it was unfair of management to put her in this role she did not have the experience or expertise to carry it off. Don't get me wrong this young lady was very polite but I imagine was placed in this role because she was cheap to hire. When we went to purchase the wine I asked for a glasses the lady said they had run out of glasses! As I'm not particularly fond of drinking my wine out of a bottle especially a £20 bottle we didn't purchase at that time. The lady said that they had stipulated to bring your own glasses, we checked this but couldn't find no such stipulation. Our friends went back to the truck and found some glasses we bought the wine it was somewhat warm but they had no ice, what a surprise! Beautiful setting but service not quite right yet. Would not recommend for this type of event.

Monte creek was the first winery I've ever been to and it didn't disappoint. I was slightly intimidated not knowing what to expect. I'm not an avid wine drinker but I do enjoy an occasional glass of white wine. We opted for the wine tasting option. I had gone for the first four which were all whites. The server who guided us through the tasting was awesome, made us super comfortable. She was very personable and made sure to clue us in on what to expect with every wine such as aromas and tastes. After the tasting I had purchased a bottle of the "la crescent" it's a super good wine. The view here is also super, building is aesthetic as well. You couldn't ask for a better location it's just perfect. Once again as it being my first tasting they set the bar pretty high.

Beautiful venue, love the blueberry wine. I have even gave it to my friends in other provinces and they love it to. Also wanted to say the staff were great at explaining the story behind the wine.

This was by far the best winery I've ever been to. The customer service there is incredible. Both the tour guide and the bartender were very nice, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. The tour was a lot of fun to go on and I learned a lot! Their wine was the best I've ever had. Hands down the hands up white was my favorite. I will be an eternal customer of theirs and will be back to visit again in the future

Monte Creek Ranch is gorgeous, driving up it feels like you’re entering a lush oasis with incredible grand architecture. The vineyards were perfect to snap a quick photo before we headed inside for a tasting. Shirley was fantastic, friendly, & personable while she explained the delicate notes of each wine. She elevated the entire experience even further and answered everything as if she was a sommelier. Luckily, the hostess was able to find us a spot on the Terrace. The Frosé and charcuterie board were lovely with the mountain and river views in the background. Looking forward to the bottles we brought home and very happy with the entire experience.

Amanda Boehlke

Really loved the blueberry wine, it is very unique and not as sweet as most i have tried. They also make a very delicous reisling. The hands up white is quite good as well.

Jamie Seirs

The wine and food were excellent. Our server was a little testy at times, but nothing the incredible view and great food couldn't compensate for. Will be coming back for more this summer, highly recommend!

Jessica J

This winery is amazing. So beautiful and cute. Everyone working there went above and beyond to make our experience a great one. The tour was awesome; very educational and pretty. The wines were AMAZING! Come prepared to spend a lot on bottles after your tasting because you won't be able to resist. Their wine is very well priced for the quality. It was the best wine I've ever tasted. We got some amazing pictures there. It didn't look like much from the highway but it's absolutely amazing there. I highly recommend this one and Harper Estates! Your won't be disappointed with anything.

I think that this place was amazing, it has a really great atmosphere. That being said, some of their food (that was delicious) was really expensive and you hardly got anything. I ordered both a meat and cheese plate and a cheese plate for our group and there was literally 5 peices of cheese on the one and a few slices of meat on the other. They were really skimpy and it cost 26 dollars, and it didn't feel like it was worth that. This was not just my thought but my whole groups as well. We also got a baked Brie though, and that was a sufficient serving size and it was really awesome, I would recommend it. So overall everything was really great, especially the wine, but their meat and cheese boards could have more to them or maybe be a little less expensive.

G M

Very happy with the wine, food and staff. Highly recommend paying a visit.

Went here a few days ago for a wine tasting. We just dropped in and were greeted by one of the staff. She was quite knowledgeable and friendly, offering some interesting history behind the wines. They have a good selection of wines for you to try ( each person can try 4). I was very surprised by the blueberry wine in particular and their Heads Up blends (both red and white) which were very tasty. They also have an amazing view that you can enjoy while trying out the wines. Would love to go back!

Our first time at a winery. Stopped off on the way from Vancouver to Salmon arm for the tasting. $5 for 4 samples. Picked up 2 bottles to take home. Very friendly staff and great wines.

Winery and it's restaurant have a million dollar view. Food is as good or better than the wine, therefore it's a busy place, especially from noon onward. RESERVATIONS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The Monte Creek tacos with the red prawns are by far the best around.

Went for lunch for my wife's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Outdoor patio was nice, heaters kept us warm even though the weather wasn't the best. Food was decently priced and was delicious. Did a wine tasting afterwords since we were the only ones there and ended up going home with more wine ???????? Really enjoyed it. Outdoor patio is very nice and staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of space for covid protocols so no issues there.
