Edit: I was contacted by the owner, who graciously apologized for my poor experience and assured me that improvements will be made, such as getting rid of the tip jar. It's a start. ---- I can only assume that the previous reviewers wrote their review on the wrong winery by mistake. The place is new and clean when you walk in... and that's where the pleasant experience stops. The proprietor who greeted us... actually, she didn't. She stood there staring at us as though we had just walked into her kitchen while she was having breakfast. She was wishing us away with her eyes. I had to ask to try the wines. Unbelievable. This is a plum location at an intersection of two highways at the epicentre of BC wine country, and the proprietor treats us as though we're an inconvenience. What did she tell us about the wines? Nothing. Not one word. What an awkward experience. I just stood there sipping wines while being stared at. The rosé was decent. The reds are not. That is as much as I care to say about their products. I actually bought the rosé. Out of pity, perhaps? She at least had the decency to thank me for my purchase. The final insult: The credit card machine asks for a tip, as does a jar on the counter. Give me a break. I wouldn't tip at the finest wineries available to humanity. Where do you find the nerve to ask for a tip for this kind of service? Don't expect this winery to be around for long.

We sat outside as they have a gorgeous patio! The issue is that the lady then took our selection of samples, and served us without explaining what was what, the tasting notes etc. Not knowledge of the product. It took a loooong time for her to come back and serve the next round. Very poor experience for not outstanding wines. Out of all places you can go in the region, I'd recommend you to stop somewhere else.

The Bordertown Winery has a great location and the staff are very helpful with a friendly tasting experience. The pricing of their products is very competitive and fair. This small plot limited planting business man is doing everything right. We did buy and happy staff make for happy customers. Thanks .....

Popped in for a tasting. Didn't find the person behind the counter to be particularly engaging but we're there for the wine right? The wine is good with a good price point. So, I would say drop in, have a taste, and if you like it, buy some.

Their cider is fantastic, the service was fantastic, great location, absolutely 10/10 on everything else. But I cannot unfortunately give them any starts (but 1 is the minimum). I bought a flat of ciders last week from their tasting room in Osoyoos - and discovered that this batch has been affected with both grit & a waxy substance in it. While it doesn't seem to have affected the cider taste (which is very nice) - nor did I ask or want nay compensation - their lack of acknowledgement to my alerting them of this issue is very concerning - considering it's a health issue. It's imperative that food processors take it seriously when informed of a problem with their goods - and they haven't responded at all. I don't actually know what I'm finding in these, and whether it's actually safe to consume. That's a problem for a business that should be putting customer safety first - and the reason for this low scored review.

We had a very nice experience at Bordertown & loved their wines. The lady serving us (forget her name - beautiful hair though), was knowledgeable, professional & fun to chat with. We purchased several bottles & would go back.

The winery was advertised as being open until 6pm. We arrived at 5:55pm with the intention of only buying wine and were turned away saying they closed at 6:00pm. The lady at the counter said it was Sunday and that it wasn’t very busy so she was closed down. There is obviously a reason for that! Very poor customer service - I would not recommend this winery.

We spend a lot of time in Osoyoos every year and visit alot of wineries and spend time at our favorites. My wife and family friend would never go back to Bordertown, the service was very uninformative and told them to read the pamphlete instead of having a conversation with them. They weren't greated by the staff at the tasting bar, woman was very short with them and didn't explain the wines at all. A couple came in as my wife and friend were doing a tasting and heard the conversation and experience they were having and decided to leave with out sampling. After talking to them in the parking lot the wife and husband were turned off by my wife's experience and didn't go back in. This was the second attempt at doing a tasting at Bordertown and unfortunately both experience were disappointing yet completely different. I hope that the staffing there improves for the experience to improve.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I loved the wide selection of wines. They had some wines which most wineries in the Okanagan don't offer. Not to mention the cider was amazing! Will definitely be coming back!

Got ripped off and over charged.. They have now been ignoring me for 2 months after saying they would refund me! This was on top of a horrible experience in their tasting room. I have been to over 40 wineries in the okanagan, and this is by far the worst experience I have had. No explanation, no greeting, no talking. Double check what they charge you and make sure you keep your receipt.

There wines are very good and it helps that they are 14.9% alcohol. But its $2 cheaper a bottle at BC Liquor stores.

Stopped by the 2nd week of September. The wine was very good and the cider we taste tested was great. Bought 6 4-packs. When we got back to the lower mainland and tried the canned cider 2 weeks later , it sure didn't taste like the cider we tested that day . Sent message saying it wasn't very good and got no response. Will never buy there again!

I absolutely love the reds !! The lady serving us was very friendly and informative. I'm assuming the staff member from previous reviews is long gone. This is a must try winery. The cab sav., can franc and desert red were all delicious

Great tasting wine with an excellent selection. Unfortunately the staff were not very friendly and no water was provided during the tasting, which was also unexplained. The wines were simply put down and we were left to figure out which were which. We purchased a couple of bottles but won't be back for tasting again.

Beautiful location. The owner, Sukhveer/Sukhvir, came and told us the story behind the winery. He was very personable which made the experience that much better. The wine was more so on the lighter body side. Their cider is DELICIOUS! It was very refreshing and we loved that there's no sugar added and only contain natural favours. If there was a con for our visit, we would say the employee was very uninformative. But overall Sukhveer/Sukhvir saved the tasting with his great and relatable family story and made the experience better. This wineries potential is very high and we love supporting family owned businesses. Q

Fantastic wines! My wife and I stopped by for a tasting 2 weeks ago and as always I was so impressed with the quality of their wines, but I also need to mention how great our tasting experience was because of Sheila. She assisted us with our tasting and was not only very knowledgeable but also just a lot of fun to chat with. This is a must stop next time you are in Osoyoos.
