Our favourite wine store in Banff. Carries wine from many locals including some fairly local mountain varieties from Naramata Bench. Port is also a major seller at this store. We've always enjoyed our visits and found the variety available offered us a chance to try something new as well as locate many old favourites.

I'm so glad that we stopped in here. My partner and I are entirely unknowledgeable about wine, but we wanted to create a wine basket as a wedding gift. Doug was able to walk us through the store and help us choose a variety of wines for a number of occasions, all while staying inside our price range. We learned a lot (I even took some notes!!) and hope the happy couple appreciates the thoughtful additions to their wine cellar. ???? I would absolutely recommend the Banff Wine Store to anyone, and I suspect they have some really special wines for a real aficionado.

My husband and I had the pleasure of walking into this wine store this past weekend. The person working was definitely knowledgeable on wine, but sadly super unfriendly. My husband and I asked for something that’s close to a standard wine out of our regular wine store and we were told they don’t sell mass produced wines which was perfectly fine. We had asked him, show us one of your best wines we were told his best wines were kept in a separate room roped off. I love my wines and we were willing to pay over couple of hundred for a bottle of wine since he seemed to know what he was talked about. When my husband asked him flat out, Okay show us the expensive ones not the 25 dollar bottles he told us sorry those bottles are only for people who know about them. Just FYI for this store. Perhaps you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, not only are we not children we are grown adults and willing to spend hundreds on a bottle of wine but your nasty poor judgement costed you a repeated customer who was willing to pay higher dollar. Change your ways!!! Ps he told us he does not carry mass produced wines yet he was carrying Jacobs creek. Good on you! Looks like you just lost another customer who cant get into your fancy roped off wine room.

What an awesome wine store. The owner helped me choose a great Canadian Pinot Noir for a special occasion as well as an incredible Borolo. He was so helpful and enjoyable to talk to I wish I could shop there all the time (A little far from Arizona sadly)

The store attendant seemed a little upset when I asked for sale items and also had a 5% off coupon. When I presented my coupon the response was of course you have a coupon. Like I’m a cheapskate and should pay full price and throw my money around because I’m retired. His kids cannot afford to drive home to visit from Kelowna. Think I’ll go to the Banff liquor store next time. They always have a smile. We come to Banff every year as we are from AB. Worked hard watched my pennies made smart investments and also picked bottles to pay bills at one time in my life while raising my kids but didn’t take it out in others who were in a more fortunate time in their lives. I have to say that the store owner contacted me and asked for particulars. I don’t think that employee will be bad mouthing the costumers anymore.

Make sure to take a trip downstairs to this wine shop. It's a fabulous find, with a great variety of wines at decent prices for Banff. The staff is super knowledgeable, so take advantage of it. They know some great off-the-beaten-path wines.

The only place to go for wine in Banff. Staff is great, and they a have a fantastic selection of interesting and eclectic wines. If you're just after a bottle of J Lohr this may not be your store, but if you have an interest in wine this store is a true gem in Banff.

I've been a customer of the Banff Wine Store for thirty years! I've never encountered a more knowledgeable, friendly and capable sommelier as the owner, and his recommendations have been consistently excellent. Also, he has longterm, well-trained staff, all of whom make a trip to this particular wine boutique a must for anyone who cares about good wine. The Banff Wine Store is a real treasure!
