We decided to look into a non traditional means of content distribution for a civic site. All I can say is that we are a couple of months away from our launch and up to this point Acro Media has gone above and beyond our expectations in customer service, technical ability and design abilities. We feel that this website will be a cornerstone of our community's online presence and will highlight the wonderful things that we have to offer. Acro Media will deliver a top of the line standards compliant website every time. As a web developer and designer myself, I strive to meet the quality that Acro Media provides. They are, simply put, the best of the best.

Good, until it wasn't. We had Acro Media build our company site a few years ago and the experience was exemplary. The site turned out great and we loved the look and feel. We are a very small manufacturing company that primarily sells to OEMs and distributors with a very small amount of direct-to-customer sales. For just over a year we paid Acro Media to manage our web marketing and updates to the website. It became apparent that they were more-or-less phoning it in as time went on. Despite us trying to explain what our product is they kept asking us which "keywords" we wanted in our Google ads etc. When we told them, they never actually put those keywords on the search list. Very frustrating. Furthermore, they created the site with a two-tier administrator account system. The primary administrator had full access to everything while the administration account they provided to us had limited admin rights. Not a big deal when they were managing things, but it was like pulling teeth for them to pass on the full admin credentials when we wanted to take over for ourselves. Now, 5 months later we have to make some changes to our primary domain and we have discovered that the ownership/administrative contact listed is someone at their company that may or may not work there anymore. The registrar can't tell us who exactly for obvious privacy reasons, but trying to get a hold of our previous project manager is impossible at Acro as well. I've left a few messages and received no response from Jeff, and all of the MANY account managers we've had no longer work there. They go though staff like water through a sieve. Maybe this post will finally spur them to respond to us in some way. If you're a large company with a big budget they may be an excellent choice. If you're a small company you'd best look elsewhere.

Between the customer service, the finished product and everything else in between we have had nothing but a great experience with Acro Media.

After months working on a job together it was extremely disappointing to see my money just wasted time and time again. I felt as a small business my time maybe was not as valuable as some of the other big clients of Acro's. I was often left for days and forgotten, when we would return to a job some new person would be in charge of my stuff, as we progressed projects/deadlines became less and less important, with not a finger willing to be lifted Friday after 4:30 for the rest of the weekend to help meet deadlines. I went to Acro to hire the "professionals" in their respected roles, so one of the biggest let downs amongst the others was when they would come to me asking what we should do.. The reason I hired and paid top dollar was to be guided, when I felt like all the marketing was just my ideas throwing mud at the wall to see if anything stuck. Too many hands touching everything over there to really get value for your money. My 12-15 k budget barely got me a thing, to later find out I could have got things done more efficiently for half the price elsewhere. A learning experience if anything.

We went LIVE with the new site back in April and its been pretty smooth sailing thus far... Everything is working great... that little module made a world of difference in performance... We still have a couple of minor quirks with it, but overall it is working very well for us and has been a real life saver! Thanks to you and the Acro Team for all your help and support!

Overall experience wasn't terrible when dealing with the individual team members, but the work ended up not matching what I was sold in the beginning. I contacted Acro since they developed the Drupal Commerce distribution package and thought they would know best on how to install this distribution without issues and minimal time. I needed them to install unto Pantheon hosting site. I was told that I needed to purchase 10 hours upfront but that this job would leave me with "tons of extra time" that I could use later for tweaks or consulting. They got my project to the tech department quickly which was nice and I clarified the final project with someone who was supposed to have plenty of experience with Pantheon. There was no update to the number of billable hours. The project stalled for a week and a half and I recontacted Acro. It project was then assigned to another technician, and after another week and a half was finally completed. When I wanted to clarify how many hours the project took, this tech said it used 9.5 and my last request would use the remaining half an hour. The final request was for Acro to install the OpenEdu distribution with Commerce module attached on two seperate intalls with Pantheon, so identical intalls. This project ended up taking 3 wks and cost me $2000 (10hr at $200/hr). When I raised my objection to the lack of communication about the billed hours the project manager only gave the suggestion that we could start with smaller chuncks of time. I will be taking my money to a company that values it more in the future.
