Horrible, shameful customer service. Went in to look for an item, the first guy said " I only work in the electronics department" "Go look at that end, there should be someone there". I asked the salesman for a nice set of wireless headphones to listen to music. So the salesman recommended a $200 set of headphones. I got home and tried to pair them with my ????phone. And nothing.The headphones are only for PC. I needed headphones for my new phone. I went through the process a few times. Nothing. So I went online and the first video I watched trashed these headphones ???? because they do not connect to headphones via the phone Bluetooth! I specifically stated that to the salesperson. So exactly 24 hours later, as I attempted to return the headphones, I told the sales manager the phone connectivity problem, plus the fact the side access panels fall off when you put them on. The manager told me they won't accept a return and will not refund me. I told him I won't shop there. As a business owner, I have spent tens of thousands of dollars there, over a couple of decades, on office furniture, computers, IT accessories, printers, ink, paper, etc. Now, I will shop elsewhere. You made $200 but lost a loyal shopper. Customer support is imperative for success. And 24 hrs after the manager would not accept my return item, I went to a rival West Island store. I bought a USB C to 3.5 mm dongle. It wasn't busy there and I had an opportunity to speak to the manager at the rival store about my headphone issue. I told her the salesman who sold a set of headphones ???? that did not connect wirelessly to my phone. She said COVID is why they don't refund them. Live in the area, so I patronize this store frequently for my various stationary and office supply needs (so, like, every time I need paper/pens or what have you). Find the staff indifferent at best, and more often than not, totally incompetent. Display models of products rarely work (seriously, why would I buy a monitor if I can't see it in action first?). And, print orders take forever and are--more often than not--screwed up (missing pages, weirdly distorted margins, etc.). Forgive me if my review has an irritable tone. It's just that thinking about this staples brings back memories of utter frustration.

I was surprised by a couple of things. First of all in Quebec, the bureau on Gros is actually Staples. I like the liquidation tables when I just want to shop aroundrecreationally. But as I passed the paper I noticed that they did have a good deal on one of the boxes of paper but I didn't check up the volume all though it was the same price as Costco I'm guessing it was less paper but still a decent deal. At the liquidation table I found a bunch of things and then I went over to the technology liquidation stand and found a movement sensor that worked with both Amazon and Google's wireless voice command system. Wasn't the easiest device to set up but finally I got it going.it sends alerts when the ever there is movement wherever you put the sensor and it sends the alerts to your Mobileeither email or text message or something like that I forget because it was a slow boat to China compared to my internal video cameras on my external front door Cam and I found it sufficient but notexceptional. Meanwhile I picked up a bunch of very bright corn cob style of flashlights for $0.97 plus the echo fray making it a dollar seven per flashlight good score decent flashlights and they all had carbiners.. that hook with a closure on the spring?I returned the movement sensor that's well made by the way and was 34 bucks at their store but listed at Amazon as $110. Also it was a 2016 item somewhere else so that makes it too old for technology. That could explain the slow response time and the bit of difficulty to set it. However all the paperwork was up-to-date and the device did work so for $34.97, not too bad. And when I returned it I went to the liquidation area again at another Bureau on Gros, and I picked up another two calculators like the one I found at the first shopping event and I picked up like 7 had cameras are forehead cameras I'm sorry flashlights I mean.these flashlights were 80 lumens although it felt like more that has super bright medium bright and flashing in the flashing is slow flashing which I've never seen before usually it's fast or an SOS pattern.they had head mounts for your forehead and they came with three AAA batteries. So four bucks a piece and that's a good score. And the two calculators which are very attractive although their print on the keys is a bit light but it's kind of pastel looking anyhow it's a beautiful design and the keys are solid and it's not printed Staples all over it thank goodness and only five bucks so I bought two of those. These will all be client gifts.everybody deserves gifts and their 100% deductible and I like to make people happy. Not just by the performance of my professional expertise, but simply by an act of kindness and thoughtfulness and caring by giving gifts. the store as well run all of them and they have a lot of choices and the store is always a big seller you just before school as well. I'm picky or about pricing and I look at liquidation tables here but I shop online a lot. However, this franchise does have some seriously good scores in their fliers from time to time on the front page when they have a vertical strip that has their special items with great prices and I find those to be highly attractive and have bought too many of thosethings. I still have the 10 inch Samsung laptop with front-facing stereo speakers that is a quad core machine that was way ahead of its time and way below in any price and it was through this franchise store. This store has managed to last and stay in business when many others have not.. it's a wealth of shopping and from time-to-time I'll pick up some pins when I go in. whenever I go to ormstown or Huntingdon in Southwest Quebec, I try to make a point of dropping in on the Bureau en Gros in valleyfield. It is a big store and I've scored heavily at their liquidation tables from time to time. lots of fun going into this place and look at their liquidation tables. Sometimes they don't have it when its peak season like Christmas time and sometimes before the peak seasons they reduce the price is so low that it's the best score ever

So I was looking at a computer part (GPU) online and it seems like this store had it when using the Store Availability feature. Just to make sure, I phoned them in, and the man on the phone said yes, they have it. Asked my dad to do it since I was tired and don't have a license anyway, so he drove 40 minutes to get there, then when he came in they said that no, it's out of stock and we should check other retailers such as Best Buy. Either the guy on the phone was lying to my face, the staffs are highly incompetent, or their online service is broken (which I would doubt so coming from such a big retailer like Staples). As I did not find any sign indicating the location and tariffs of scan services, I asked the teller about scanning cost and she answered $0.18 per page for B&W scan plus $3 in total for service. I asked whether I could do it myself as I had a memory stick, but she said those printer machines in the corner were just for copy and print not scan. So I asked her to do it. But after 5 minutes when the scanning completed and I waited to finish conversation of an experienced employee with the same teller, I was asked to pay over $ 1 per page ( in total over $28)!!! when I asked why so much?! and if I had known such high service charges before hand, I would have not started shopping, she said their employee ( the teller) was new. I did not hear a word of sorry or apology and when talked to the manger, he said their bill was alright and as if it was not their fault but mine. The employees were young and the female cashier was just complaining about her job the entire time , screaming her displeasure throughout the store. Will not be returning.
