We met Tim when he was photographing a home renovation for the contractor. Our conversation began because we were struggling with necessary major changes to our outdated website. There was more than photographic design in his mind. Marketing strategy is a primary focus and, in time, he helped us understand how that would work on a website. I am very pleased to provide this letter of reference for True InSite and Tim Dittmer on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Association of Garden Clubs (NSAGC). We feel that we have a website that reflects the mandate and values of NSAGC, while being aesthetically pleasing and easy for our audience to navigate. Our expectations for the new website were exceeded. For some time we recognized that our website was antiquated and no longer serving the purposes of NSAGC. We put together a request for proposal (RFP) outlining the functionality that we wanted to provide to our members and the general gardening community. In addition, we were interested in forming a long-term partnership with a web developer/designer so that we are able to keep the site up to date, maintained and implement future phases as our requirements change. During the process of developing a proposal for us, Tim and I had several conversations to clarify our requirements. These discussions indicated to me that he was interested in doing business with us and had an interest in the organization. When it came time to decide on the vendor, I recommended to the Board that we proceed with True InSite. I felt that he had an excellent understanding of our requirements and could provide value to the site and the organization. During the design and development phases Tim did an excellent job of listening to our requirements and providing expert advice on the layout, content, and functionality of the site. He continually consulted with me to make sure that I was happy with the way the project and site were progressing and showed great patience in explaining technical areas that were beyond my skill level. At my request he gave two demonstrations of the site to the Board members and took their ideas into consideration. He refined the design and functionality many times to make it the best possible website for NSAGC. Our website contains much documentation and Tim provided input into the wording to make it as easy as possible to understand. He made suggestions on the communications around the website and also its relationship to our Facebook page. One of the areas that we were lacking with our old site was the ability to update information on a timely basis. I now have the training and access to modify our events calendar, nursery and garden club maps, photo gallery and the text on the site itself. The design and development of our website was a very positive experience for both me personally and the Board of Directors.
