As you can see it reaches an feddbacks average is nearly the top, and it is based on a large number of reviews, so we may say that the rating is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to leave their review when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Animal hospital.
We took our cats here for a check up and vaccinations and we really liked Dr. Sarah. She was good with them and really friendly in general. She also took the time to explain everything to us and make recommendations. The price seems pretty normal for a vet in Toronto and I like that they have free parking and are open during the evenings on weekdays so we can go after work.
Great staff and vets.
I question the ethics of the staff here. Everything is geared towards charging you more and I’m not sure if it they are looking out for your pet.
Very well managed during COVID19. First time using them. Quite impressed. They are very busy but did best for rapidly responding to curbside pick up. Please go ahead of time - to have some time in hand - impatience will not help anyone. Do CALL them when you reach as no one can see who is waiting outside. Doctors speak to you in phone about your pet - then someone comes to take them in. Again doctor calls back after the check up to discuss. Most importantly, I am new to the country and was having hard time finding any vet who will help me order prescription diet for my furbabies w/o seeing them first, they are the only vet who helped us promptly and accepted us a new patient. Very appreciative.
I see right through vets upsell tactics and they play on your fears in regards to clients pets. Watch CBC marketplace. This place is all about getting as much money out of you as they possibly can.
They are all very nice here and Molly loves going to the vet which isn't normal. If I had one complaint is the cost but still worth it because they are great with your pet.
Great place
All the Vets are excellent, foremost their establishment is CLEAN very clean, otherwise my clean freak cat would of been very upfront and vocal about it. My cat actually allowed the Vets to handle him! The staff are most courteous and as CARING as the ALL the Veterinarians are. I took my Cat there for 10yrs., they were gentle and so kind to my cat Tiger, Unfortunately ~ my recent appointment was to be Tigers final visit ~He was 23yrs old, living with much Arthritic pain affecting the quality of life, Thus I had to relieve him of his suffering,The Vet and her assistant were wonderful to Tiger , I stroked and hugged him till his final breath- They truly helped me to cope and do the kindest humane act fr Tiger~ I fully recommend Westside Animal Clinic!
Impressive service experience. All ppl there are pet lovers so they treat your pet like their own. Very good place to give your pet cares.
Amazing hospital! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. My dog absolutely loved them.
This is the only vet that I have been to, but the staff have been very friendly, understanding, and accommodating. You can tell that they care for your (and all other) pets. Every visit and phone call has been a pleasure. Highly recommended!
Absolutely the most thoughtful team in the city. During the good times and the sad times
DO NOT bring your animals here. They killed my kitten. He went in to be neutered and came out with respiratory problems. He was brought to an emergency vet but unfortunately they couldn't save him. Obviously he had respiratory issues that these idiots failed to see before operating on him.
Excellent .
The staff there are very nice. The doctor Called me a week after my visit to check up on my cat.
Great & genuinely caring staff!! Two thumbs (or paws) up!! ????????????????????
All of the vets and staff at Westside clearly care so much about the animals they treat. Everything they recommend is always explained very thoroughly - from talking about preventatives to my pup’s complex kidney issues. My pets can be difficult at the vet and they have always been awesome. It’s tough seeing your pet anxious, but I’m thankful for their patience and that they offer some good meds to help calm my typically angry cat (pictured with a cone on). They also have a program that you can get your pet’s food delivered to your home on an auto-order basis so that’s super helpful as well!
What an amazing clinic! Genuinely love pets. Very knowledgeable and sweet!
They are starting to get over priced- Time to look for a new vet. $800 to neuter 10lb male dog is insane.
Always a good experience.
Wonderful doctor, always a good experience
Very nice people. I would recommend.
Really nice people here. Luna's favourite place! Kind of...
Took good care of my cat! Are trustworthy, communicative and have reasonable prices. Would recommend.
Our regular vet is in Beaverton, On. "The Crossroads", to be exact. By far the best vet clinic on the planet if you're up in the Kawartha Lakes / Durham area. But the West Side Animal Hospital is a very close second. The big difference for me is pretty much attached to a dollar. Obviously being in Toronto this clinic will have significantly higher operating costs so perhaps it's not fair to compare the two. As far as vets go they are top notch. If and when we're in town and in need of attention, this is the only place our furry pals will visit.
Cost a lot of money for not my dog!
The staff is super awesome and very friendly!
We have been clients of Westside for over 10 years. Every member of the staff represent the values and mission of the hospital with a passion for care distinctly their own. Dr Mendonca is as important to us as our own family physician and we wouldn't bring our four-legged family members anywhere else. Love you guys! Johnathan, Tracey & (Prince) Myles the coonhound
Impressed with quality service
LOVE the vibe here. Shiro is very very happy here. The vet is very caring and the front desk customer service is exceptional. We moved to Markham but always come back here for Shiro.
Dr Kammy is amazing and the staff is so caring
Will be filing a complaint about Kammy Punniamoorthy to College of Veterinarians of Ontario. Beware of this woman, the indian one, she will call the Toronto Animals services to your house over nothing. And if you feed your cat raw food, don't tell her or else she'll turn into the devil. I guess they make a LOT of money off of their food services that they have and don't want anything in the way. Destroy to conquer. Go tell all the ferals to stop eating raw, or else Kammy Punniamoorthy is going to send the Animal services after them. Get a life woman.
My wife and I took our cat there and the staff were very polite and sympathetic. The Dr.'s and vet tech worked all day on our little guy and tried their very best to help him. After working on him all day, trying to clear the bladder blockage, they could not do anything else. They recommend we take him to Central Toronto Vet Emergency Clinic for one last try. We eventually decided we had to put him down. A few days later we got a lovely card in the email form the clinic, signed by all the staff. A nice touch in a difficuly time. It seems the staff care about having a relationship with their clients. We now have decided to take our other cat there for her regular checkups.
Probs the best vet north of st Clair tbh
Pleasant as always! Lovely staff!
Bad customer service by receptionist, I walked in to ask if there were any low fat gas canine cans while front desk completely ignored me and kept talking on the phone therefore I walked back out and went to another vet.
Had a couple of bad experiences at this clinic with two different animals. As an owner, it is my belief that the doctor must show stern leadership and take the initiative with respect to the diagnosis and treatment plans in a given situation. This was nowhere to be seen on two seperate occasions. The net result being several visits to the clinic that are a draw on my time and a great stress on my dogs. After the fact, both animals were diagnosed and put on a speedy road to recovery at a different Vetinary practice.
I had to put my cat, Coco, down on my birthday. It was my first time going through this experience, with my first cat. I am so grateful for the vet that walked me through the process. Her soft spoken and informative words lifted a weight off my shoulders, as I was riddled with guilt, felt like a failure. She gave me all my options, and made me feel brave and come to peace with letting him go. My grieving process has been difficult, but I carry her words with me. I hope you know how much it means. Thank you so much. This is how I imagine my coco now, not the sick skinny boy he became.
(Recommend VCA Canada Rosedale Animal Hospital - they are much better at service and client care). Would not go Wedtside VCA or recommend unless you have no where else to take your pet and you don't mind a lack of customer service or wasting your time, frequently. Techs and staff are great but admins aren't given enough info in order to NOT waste your time Don't show up 3 minutes late or a 15 minute late policy will take into effect. Btw this isn't found anywhere nor do they tell you this in advance. Also this is happened more than once. Due to admin not receiving adequate info to inform clients ahead of time, the last time we brought our pup on for scheduled bloodwork they failed to tell me appropriate information and now we are waiting ANOTHER 3 months for the next appointment, and of course wasted my time showing up for the last appointment. Care club will lure you in but there are other VCA clinic that do great work all around
Very nice knowledgeable staff and doctors.
Worst Vet experience I've ever had! I went in first to get information, the lady at the counter explained that at their clinic they only charge one cost for the full vaccine program. So I brought my kitten in, we were handled by a new vet who didn't know where anything was, she spent most of the visit explaining how shes new and doesn't know how any of their systems work. Not very reassuring...whatever, he gets his first vaccine. We pay THEN are told that it isn't all included, that the next 2 visits are also $130! I told her I was told otherwise and that paying $400 for vaccines is crazy! She just said "that's the cost of owning a cat" and she went back to talking with other staff and customers while I held my restless kitten waiting to pay, not being able to speak with her and being completely ignored. I came home and did a bit of research and found pretty much all the other clinics charge $40 for vaccines... I regret taking my poor kitten here. Now it's been 4 days and my kitten has a huge swollen belly. I don't trust what they did to him at all and I will never set foot in there again. I pray that another clinic will be able to help my now sick cat.
Very friendly staff, the vet was sweet and informative. Visited here 3 times and always left happy.
It's truly the only place you will find not only the absolute best and most progressive medicine for your animal family members, but loving and truly caring humans, too.
Great customer service. They are amazing with pets and fully professional. Amazing!
Very happy took my kitty with them one visit my kitty got better withing a week the employees and veterinarians are very very friendly
The service at Westside helped to heal the trauma I'd just come from at another vet. Both my dog and I were given concerned care, as much time as we needed. My dog's recurring problem was healed completely and I have switched all his care to Westside. I trust they have my dog's best interests in place.
I love the staff here! The compassion they show is unlike any vet that I've ever been to. One star away from 5 as they have a tendency to always be running late.
Awesome staff and location
Amazing customer service....not to humans but to the animals ????. Kidding aside, the staff is great and very informative. Especially one employee, I think her name is Krizia, different name....that's why I hesitate on the spelling....regardless. No need to hesitate if you want to bring in your furry freind. The entire team is amazing ???? ???? ????
Amazing Vet services and the customer service is phenominal. They explain everything to you and let you decide what you can afford to do and what you cant.
They are amazing with my furbaby.
Love this vet, they even make online health profiles for your pets, send email reminders etc! They will not do unnecessary procedures or over charge, just be honest with them what your budget is like and they will do their best to help your pet!
They were excellent with both of my dogs. I was happily surprised by how professional and compassionate they were.
The team is so caring. They do everything they can for your pet. We've been going here for years.
Really liked our first visit here for my kitten. The service given was great with smiling and pleasant people. The first time examination (I think this is for new patient) was free thanks to the coupon on their website.
Outrageous prices. Money-hungry and very clearly corporate owned. These vets work for commission based on how many people they can convince to sign up for their "Care Club" packages. Unlike other vet clinics that are actually reputable, they do not place a 'cap' on the upper limit of their dental cleaning surgeries. For example: every other clinic I've been to will provide an upper limit for how much they will charge for a dental surgery, ie. it will never cost more than $2000, no matter how many teeth need to be extracted or how long it takes. These vets do no such thing, and will happily and without remorse hand you a bill for over $4000 without batting an eye. It's criminal. Also extremely poor customer service from the front desk staff, they will roll their eyes at you when you ask questions about costs. I was sitting in an exam room and listened to my cat's vet Dr. Kammy complain about me and make fun of me with a technician in the back of the clinic, because the walls are paper thin. You're much better off traveling a little further and spending money elsewhere at a clinic that is not owned by VCA and has doctors that actually care about pets rather than just lining their own pockets.
Excellent Professionals.
Picked up meds without getting out of your car amazing.
I love the staff here, they truly make you feel like family and care so much for your pet's health. I couldn't recommend this office enough.
Truly caring team!
Always friendly with a smooth operation. Caring personnel!
Ive had nothing but positive experiences at the westside animal hospital. They remember your dog by name. The staff and service are beyond rating. I Would highly recommend new dog owners to go here because they teach you everything. Plus the place is very clean.
This place is awesome. They are so wonderful and they know there stuff.
(Translated) I loved the service, I was served in Portuguese and English I thought it was great (Original) Amei o atendimento ,fui atendido em português e inglês achei isso ótimo
Very friendly and courteous. They always take care of my dog
My Ellie is one of the most important beings in my life. When i take her to Westside Animal Hospital i am entrusting her to their care. Ellie loves the staff and Dr. Sonia very much and is quite happy to get into the car and go "visit" her friends. We have not met the newest Dr. now there but i know Ellie would love her too. I appreciate the dr's direct approach and all of the alternatives offered me on care of problems Ellie might have. I have every confidence in Westside and would not change for any reason. If i have an issue it would be the "sterile" appearance of the waiting area not really a "friendly appearance"
I had a wonderful experience here at Westside Animal Hospital. Dr. Sarah was extremely knowledgeable and caring. You can genuinely tell that she cares about the animals. I brought my cat, Zoey, in with concerns about her teeth/gums and I had Dr. Sarah do the consultation. She concluded my cat needed to do a dental surgery, which is scary and devastating to hear as an pet owner. She was extremely patient when it came to answering any questions or concerns I had. She even provided me with long explanations when I emailed her a bunch of questions. The surgery was done by Dr. Kammy who did a great job, my cat healed pretty well with her extractions. Kyna, the vet tech who I had met a few times prior to the surgery and after was super friendly and caring. She took her time when doing blood work for my cat and assured that everything was okay. It was also super nice of them to send me photos and provide me with updates during the surgery, it definitely provided me a peace of mind. A few weeks after the surgery, I noticed an irregular activity from my cat that was not dental related which was concerning to me. I called in and Westside was able to get me in for an appointment day of and complimentary, which was awesome. I saw Dr. Sarah and she took her time to examine my cat and did all the checks that she could. Unfortunately we were not able to figure out what was wrong, she suggested I see a specialist and was once again really patient when it came to answering my questions. A few days later, she called to check up on my cat which was a surprise as I'm sure she has many other pets to see and work to do. This really goes to show that she genuinely cares about the animals and was concerned about my cat. Thankfully, my cat stopped the irregular activity and hasn't done it since and will not be needing to see a specialist. I am thankful for Dr. Sarah and the staff at Westside for being so accommodating and caring as my cat is literally my baby.
I take my puppy here. The staff are always so welcoming and kind, they greet you and get your pet weighed immediately when you walk in the door, always a phone call and email away, which they always answer promptly. I've never been on hold when I've called, they've answered my e-mails within 20 minutes of sending to them. The Vets are ALWAYS on time and always helpful in answering questions, giving recommendations, helping deal with any concerns you have. I highly recommend VCA Westside! And their hours are great! Open late certain evenings to ensure your pet gets seen even after a day at work.
Its hit and miss had a couple of good doctors look at my dog and did great things for her _ then on my dogs I think third check up the doctor that was supposed to check my dog out did nothing to address my concerns I had to say "what about her temperature " then she begrudgingly went to get the thermometer and to my shock she handed it to me and said "just stick it in her ear she looks fine" and that was it after being there on several occasions I noticed that the majority of clients were very affluent and me not so much and it shows that I am not_ but that should not have anything to do with the treatment a pet should get especially if they claim to care about your pets as all vets or veterinary clinics do it should be all about the pet then when it came to certain needles they said we have to do a blood test first to make sure she doesn't have the disease because the prevention can not be administered if she is sick with it other measures must be taken first to cure it then the preventative can be administered but with the civil thing and with limited time they said just come in and let's give her the needle we don't have to test first it should not be a problem so you tell me I will be looking for another clinic and it being owned by the Mars company doesn't give me a good vibe I found that out recently
Staff is amazing and patient during these Covid times! Very informative and supportive. My dog, never comes back to me stressed out. So they do look after him!
The vet and assistant s were so helpful and pleasant. They alleviated all my worries and anxieties. Amazing
Amazing customer service and fair prices. All the staff was so welcoming to me and my animal needs.
We recently lost our beloved pet after spending the night with her at an emergency vet clinic. The clinic did not even call to follow up, nor did anyone at the clinic say "We're sorry for your loss". Westside Staff were absolutely wonderful, caring, compassionate and understanding. Thanks for the support. We have adopted another pet and are sure that the care he will receive will be honest, thorough and professional. Thank you to the staff of Westside.
Such great stuff, super friendly and very helpful
Disappointed in customer service. After giving many referrals and spending over a thousand dollars in a year for just basic check ups and yearly needles they want to charge 85$ to check my dogs heart and give me a cream at additional cost for something we told them we knew what it was. We didn't ask for a free check up but they just saw my puppy every month for the last four months. 85$ for three minutes. Doctors and lawyers don't even charge that much. Super disappointed
Just called in and was asking for pricing on vaccinations and all the lady tried doing was up selling me on exams when all I wanted was a price it was so difficult do deal with this lady don’t bother.. called someone else and got no beating around the bush
Maximus's favorite vet Dr.cammy is so nice and good to max. Shes very accommodating and I love that shes been taking care of max since he was a pup. Ty from elle and max
I’ve been going to this place when they were Westwide Animal hospital on Eglinton. Over 28 years and not once have they given me a break on prices or a payment plan. I’m very disappointed and I will be leaving their servings
The vet techs and the vet that treated my cat were so awesome! I will be going to these guys for as long as I have my pets
We came to visit this vet because we thought our sweet Lexi was suffering bladder incontinence. They were a little more expensive for an exam but they were able to take us right away and we wanted answers right away. We found out she had diabetes. This broke our hearts since we knew this was going to be an expensive journey for us. DR. Meredith has been absolutely amazing and so very understanding. The entire clinic has worked with us based on what we can afford. We knew this would be an expensive journey and it's so great to work with those who want what is best for our furbaby. You can tell that the staff here is really dedicated to the well being of the animals that are brought in. So glad we came across them.
I have been taking my pets to this clinic for quite some time and from time to time there have been some billing issues but recently i had a horrible experience. I was 8 minutes late for my appointment and the receptionist that was working that day refused to let the vet see my dog. She was rude ,did not allw my husband and I to talk to the doctor and then basically kicked us out. After spending nearly eight thousand dollars in a year and a half this is how they treat their customers. Even with an appointment, sometimes the wait time to see the doctor goes beyond 30 minutes. We decided to take our business elsewhere. Not only did they lose us as a customer but family and friends that were using them also dropped Westside as their go to vet.
Horrible. All three of my cats died within a year after going to this vet and one earlier in 2015. In 2015 our female of 14yrs was brought in because she was very weak. Vet suggested female HIV for an indoor cat. We disagreed and decided to get her blood taken. The vet didn't do it, instead they had their very young student or tech take it. She stabbed her more than 3 times and my cat cried. Never heard a cat cry before but I tried to stay strong for her. The next day she died. I believe she had congestive heart failure and the stress of being stabbed brought her death on quicker. Not HIV. First broken heart. Next was my baby girl of 17.5 years. She was getting very thin and thirsty. I tried a new vet at the same clinic this time. This vet was better as she diagnosed my cat with hyperthyroidism correctly. My girl started to get better but not 100. It was a constant struggle for two yrs to get the right dose and the vet did not believe I was giving her the pill. I switched from transdermal gel and back. There was poor patient/doctor trust. In the end the doctor saw that she had kidney failure as well. Gave me morphine to give her for her pain as there was nothing we could do and she passed shortly after. Second broken heart. Her twin brother, my baby boy started to get weak around this time. I knew it was his time soon. I had taken him to the vet to get checked up. He got his blood taken and we were told we would be getting a call for medication. During this time I also took my new kitty to get tested to be spayed. Kitty was the new hope for our depressed family. She was to carry the torch for my baby boy and girl. We got her spayed. I saw the young staff fighting to get control of her in the back as the door opened and I peaked. A bunch of young students. I heard the clerk complain to the back staff about a dog that came in with the bandage still on for a week as nobody called to tell the owner to take it off. They were concerned about the dogs leg. That and everything should have been a sign not to be here. Anyway, I took kitty back and she was weak and only ate a little. She struggled to poop. She hid under the bed. She was in pain dispite the meds. I knew something was wrong as my orange kitty was extremely lively and YouTube worthy. I never had a cat like her before. We took her back to the vet days later and explained it to the tech. If you could believe it, the vet tech picked her up stretching her on her chest to take her to the back as she cried in pain. Mortified, we had to tell the tech not to do that and use the carrier. As we already knew, the actual vet told us she was is great pain. They gave us sensitive food and pain meds. God. Kitty died after 4 days of pain after being spayed here. Our family was in shambles. Third broken heart. Our baby boy was getting weaker and weaker. We knew his time was coming and we didn't ever want to deal with this vet again. We knew it was kidney failure. The clinic was supposed to call us to pick up meds. 1 month after kitty died and 6 months after our baby girl died, our baby boy passed away peacefully around loved ones. Weeks after his death they had the audacity to call us to up his meds. Incredulous. Luckily our boy of 18yrs didn't die in pain and had meds from elsewhere. Fourth broken heart. It took a while for me to be able to write this review. We are still down sometimes and the regret hits us as there is nothing but memories in this house. I can not recommend this clinic at all. At all. There is poor trust between the doctor and client. Poor communication between staff members. Unskilled workers who seem like they are training rather than skilled attendants. The staff is purely female which gives the impression they hire based on gender. The place is an expensive McClinic that fools you into thinking you'll be getting top service and care in Toronto. I think the best vets go to the animal hospitals or own their own clinic. Avoid. God bless you and your pets.
The staff here are wonderful to deal with. As an owner of a puppy I had a bunch of questions and concerns regarding my puppy and her health. They were super knowledgeable and helpful with giving advice and caring for her during our visits.
Dr Eva and her staff were amazing. What a great place to take your pet for care. My first visit was very stressful however the team totally make it a breeze. Going back again soon and couldn't be more excited.
Real nice
We have had only good experiences here. Our Bella is one and a half and had all of her vaccinations and her spay here. She did not react very well to the spay and we had some issues with that; however Westside always takes time to answer all questions and explain cost breakdown when asked. We appreciate this vet and will of course continue to bring our Bella here.
Very clear there are brand deals with the Vets. My baby was prescribed stuff that burned her skin and took off a whole patch of fur! Come across as wholesome but clearly a very money-hungry business.
Excellent care.
Good clinic and the staff is really kind
I don't know if I could ever say enough about how incredible Westside is. I've been coming here for nine years, and in that time, there have been changes, and all of them for the better. All the doctors and staff are loving, caring, trustworthy and I know they care about my pets like they were their own. I see them go above and beyond each and every visit. Even when they have had to tell me things I don't want to hear (the illness of my pet) they do it with sensitivity and with my pet's specific needs in mind. There's no where else. There just isn't.
Hands down the best veterinarian clinic! They sent my husband, dog and I an awesome card congratulating us on our baby!! It's amazing that they remembered. They take care of our puppy so well, I couldn't imagine bringing our dog anywhere else. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Great service lots of patience great doctor assistant and receptionist clean
I came to Westside Animal Hospital after a horrible experience at a different vet office, and they are beyond everything I expected. Every member of their staff makes you feel welcomed. They are thoughtful and well informed. They truly care for your pets and have amazing resources you can access. Dr. Kammy is a gem and I couldn't be happier we found this place!
I love my experiences with Westside. They are always caring, considerate, and have even tamed my Tortoiseshell cat, which is a huge accomplishment. They always make sure I have all the information I need, in order to keep my cat happy and healthy. I've recommended them to friends as well.
Excellent service, I have been taking my kitten to this clinic from the first day. He is on a care plan. He is neutered and microchipped in this clinic. They always follow up and very considerate. I highly recommend.
Staff are always very friendly and patient with my dog! They also have a small area for clients to grab a drink or snack, which is a bonus. The hospital is very well-kept and nicely decorated! The only reasons why I'm giving four instead of five stars is because this is on the pricier side (costed almost $800 to have my Shih Tzu puppy spayed), and the doctors are sometimes late. Though, so long as my dog is receiving the care that she deserves and they continue to provide excellent customer service, I think I'll be a loyal customer for a long time.
I love this hospital! My cat is anxiety-prone, but when she came here, she was quite calm and she didn't care to hide in her carrier. For her to remain on the table without hiding speaks volumes about the clinic (as other clinics, she would hide). Cost was also reasonable.
Always understanding to my pets needs, and always there to answer my questions
Great vets. Everyone cares about their patients health and happiness.
Everyone from the front desk staff, technicians, assistants and vets are amazing! I am beyond thankful for the work and patience of the whole team at Westside. My cat can be a little difficult (tends to hulk out without sedation) and they are absolutely amazing with her. She still isn't a huge fan of the vet but together we have found a way to ensure she's able to get exceptional veterinary care while ensuring the safety her and their staffs safety. Extremely happy to have her as patient here. The prices are reasonable and the vets are knowledgeable. There may be places that are cheaper, but consider the quality of care and service that you and your pet receive and I would say it is beyond worth it.
