We were privileged to be in the capable hands of Dr. Sarah Pechmann to help bring our beautiful dog Coco’s rich, long life to a gentle conclusion. The whole process was orders of magnitude more compassionate, dignified and full of grace than I had expected. I anticipated something much more clinical and impersonal and abrupt. She took time to patiently walk us through how our dog's last minutes would unfold, reassuring us of his comfort and ease, and was very eloquent in supporting us in our difficult decision. Nothing was rushed. Our boy was sedated gently, drifted off to a deep sleep, and made his journey to the next world peacefully, with not the slightest anxiety. And looking back, we feel very lucky to have had her assistance at such a traumatic time. We hurt from our dog's absence but not at all from any regret at having him put to sleep so gently and compassionately. We highly recommend Dr. Sarah. Professionalism and compassion and empathy much of the time are just not found in the same person, but she has it all. If you are reading this and have a beloved pet in decline, have the courage to call this company and deliver your pet from the terrible, needless pain and suffering that comes from leaving the decision too late. Your pet is going to pass away, that's a certainty, that's life. As your final act of love, do the right thing, at the right time. So many people don't, and deeply regret it for years after. Your pet deserves this final grace note of quality of life. So if your dog or cat is suffering and their decline is accelerating, take a deep breath and pick up the phone.
Last week we made the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our dear cat, Merlin. it was heartbreaking even though we knew it was the right and compassionate choice for him. Everyone at Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services was incredibly kind, gentle, warm and loving. Dr. Sarah Pechmann came to our home and gave us all the time and space we needed to say our final goodbyes. Once Merlin passed, she recommended we bring our dog outside so that he could have a chance to process and understand. In my grief, I would never have thought to do that. We highly recommend MMVHS for your pet's end of life moments and/or hospice care.
I had two recent experiences with MMVHS and their in-home euthanasia service. I’ll be forever grateful to the team of most compassionate, kind and accommodating professionals who clearly love animals and are committed to making an incredibly hard transition as peaceful, dignified and beautiful as possible. Thank you so much.
I’m writing this review for anyone who is hesitant in using this service, my experience with Midtown Mobile is they help make a hard choice into the only way I could have said goodbye to my girl during COVID, thank you!
We are so incredibly grateful to Dr. Gallant and the Midtown Mobile team for helping us say goodbye to our dog Wallace in the most peaceful and loving way. We could not have asked for a more compassionate and professional veterinarian. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Dr. Gallant.
We highly recommend MMVHS and encourage others to seek out this unique service at end of life as we did for our dear Siamese Milo. Dr. Karen Stekel came to our home on fairly short notice and she immediately felt like family. She was so kind and gentle with our Milo and allowed us time to feel the many feelings we were dealing with. We were in tears over the decline on our fellow which was rapid over 5 days, she was very understanding. We knew it was time but after 17 years with him, it was a heart wrenching decision. We couldn’t imagine placing him in a carrier and bringing him to a busy vet office in his weakened condition so we found them via a google search. From the very first contact with them, it felt like the right decision. Jill the coordinator was so kind, explained everything very clearly, and was quick to make same day arrangements for us. Milo passed peacefully in my arms with Dr. Stekel’s gentle assistance. It was such a personal moment, it hardly felt like she was there in the room but rather like our regular days at home with our little buddy. We appreciated her kind nature, skill and professionalism. I can’t imagine such a sad time being any better than she made it for us. Thanks Dr. Stekel.
If I could give 10 stars I would. What an outstanding service, words cannot express my gratitude enough. Such compassionate human beings . Its never easy to put your pet down and say goodbye. Our vet referred me to Midtown Mobile and I am so grateful she did. Receptionist Jill was so understanding and helpful, she made me feel safe and cared for. When it was time to put my sweet Azzie girl down she arranged everything. We had the most incredible vet come to our home. Dr Sarah Pechmann was an actual angel, from her sweet demeanor to her calm presence, she was outstanding. Sarah explained everything to us, gave us the time we needed as a family. She was so warm and I felt so comfortable with her. What I loved most was how she allowed me to be involved in every step with Azzie. I was able to wrap her in her blanket and place her in her basket. I was also able to carry her in my arms downstairs and place her in Sarah's car. I am a very spiritual person and this meant the world to me. It gave me a sense of closure. I was involved in every aspect and it warmed my heart beyond. Its so hard saying goodbye, as a fur mama you never know if your making the right choice. Midtown mobile was so informative and so helpful. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the team at midtown mobile vet! Professional, compassionate and caring beyond belief. excellent communication, the follow up, not to mention Azzies ashes came back in such a timely manner. We felt so heard and appreciated all while being so warm and kind. Professional, compassionate and caring beyond belief. Thank you from my heart you yours! OUTSTANDING.
Thank you so much for the excellent services for our long term companion cat Charlie. Dr Stekel came out to our house this past Saturday and was most helpful and compassionate during a very difficult time for us. After 17 years it was, unfortunately, time for Charlie to go, and Dr Stekel explained the process to us, detailed what to expect and gave us the time we needed when we needed it. Thank you again
If you're reading this it's because you're facing a tough decision, perhaps for the first time ever. In the summer of 2019 we booked an in-home appointment with MMWVHS' Dr Rachel Ellis to put down our old and ailing hound Addie. Though the cost was more than I initially thought I'd pay to end Addie's life comfortably and compassionately, having the procedure done in our home with our children present (and able to step away if they needed to) with the freedom for all of us to emote and to take the time we needed through each stage--all of these things we hadn't at first seen as choices we could make were, in the end, little gifts of privacy and dignity worth paying a premium for. (And this is to say nothing of the not inconsiderable safety risk we avoided by not having to drive in such a troubled emotional state.) Dr Ellis' patient and kind bedside manner was exactly what my family needed to guide us through this painful but necessary process. I'm so very sad that my dog is gone. But I'm glad we chose MMVHS to help her die easily.
Thank you very much for helping me at this difficult time. As sad as this was for me and my family, it was so wonderful to see the care and respect for my little dog. Thank you very much.
Even though I was dreading the moment my cat Pinky would pass, I felt so relieved that she went peacefully on my lap in our home. This is really the most perfect and dignified way for an animal to experience end of life. Thank you Dr Ellis and Johana for your help in making this sad day more comforting for the whole family.
Leaving a review after 3 months that my beloved boy Chuy passed is hard but couldn’t find the courage to do it earlier without breaking down in tears…Midtown Services were very helpful specially during lockdown when our long time Vet Clinic didn’t offered the service to help my guy cross the rainbow peacefully at home, instead they gave me their number and I’m grateful for that. Dr. Amrita came over, very sweet, friendly and patience helped us go thru this awfully painful time, gave me time to be with him and such; after Chuy finally left his body and we said our last goodbye she transferred my baby Chuy to the cremation place and follow my special request discussed at home then his urn was sent to the Vet Clinic for me to pick him up along with some helpline information for coping with this loss. Barb was great billing wise since it was a very expensive service for me and my financial situation to deal with (like to many other during pandemic times) but having Chuy leaving peacefully was priceless and we’re never prepare for this expenses to happen, at least now I’m aware and informed. Many thanks to Midtown Mobile Services for being supportive during this very painful moment.
My wife and I are so thankful for the wonderful care our dog received in his final moments. Dr. Stekel came to our house at short notice. It was so comforting to have her there, guiding us through the process. It made the end of our dogs life as positive an experience as it could have been. I would recommend this service to anyone who's pet is nearing the end.
What a wonderful service and team! They were incredibly responsive to my original inquiries and scheduling. And Dr. Valdmanis...we called her our Angel of Mercy. She was so compassionate, understanding, and respectful. She was so gentle with our feline family member at every step of the euthanasia process. And for us, she made the whole process feel very unrushed and her gentle manner made us feel comfortable enough to ball our eyes out in front of her. ;) We had a vet come to our home for our other cat's passing a couple of years ago, and I would never do it any other way now if we can help it.
To offer a service that allows your pet to be at home, calm and surrounded by family is something that is really special. It helped my family make the tough decision of saying goodbye to our dear pup Bruce. Dr. Ellis was great, she explained everything ahead of time, and gave us all the time we needed. You can see she that truly cares for all animals. From the initial phone call right to the end everyone has been very respectful and nice with follow up emails and cards on how we are doing. I am glad that this service is available for the comfort of our pets.
The team at Midtown Mobile, especially Dr. Valdmanis, were incredibly compassionate and responsive while we were going through an immensely difficult time. Thanks to them, we were able to spend our last day with our beloved cat Walt at home, where he was most comfortable. From beginning to end, everyone we dealt with treated both us and Walt with care and understanding. There is no way to make this experience not painful, but we will be forever grateful to Midtown Mobile for making that last day possible. A priceless gift.
We are so grateful to Midtown Mobile for making the hardest moment of letting go our beautiful cat Nina was more peaceful and comfortable. Dr Lizete came to our home even though it was out of their distance range and treat Nina and my family with so much empathy. We will always be grateful to you. The moment was unbearable but her voice guiding us and how she let us grief for her in that moment was truly appreciated. I will be forever grateful cause she even follow-up on us after. The whole staff managed everything with so much care and continuously acknowledging our loss and feelings. I hope that every pet is given the opportunity to have their last moments with the amazing care that Dr Lizete and the staff gave to our precious Nina.
Every person we spoke with at Midtown Mobile was wonderful and so compassionate as we worked with them to humanely put down our dog. Was really great to have the vet come to the house so that our dog could be in a comfortable and familiar environment. Dr Stekel was fantastic.
I was referred to Midtown following Jakes cancer diagnosis by his vet Dr.Zimmerman who's known Jake since he was just a pup. He went down hill hard and fast last Friday and I knew it was time. I sent a msg online and heard from Barb within the hour - she was so kind and caring she helped me walk through the next steps of getting an appt set. Monday May 31st my boy went to sleep under his favourite tree in our front yard with all his friends from the neighbourhood stopping in. Dr. Lizete Valdmanis came to my home and I will never forget her she made it all ok and Jake took his final breaths in my arms I could not have asked for better. If you have to make this move I would highly recommend Midtown, the whole staff are just angels
Midtown Mobile and especially Dr. Rachel Ellis made this very difficult process comfortable and compassionate. I am truly grateful that our beloved pet was able to be in her favorite spot and with us during the whole process.
Our beautiful cat Curry left us on July 22, 2021. Such incredible gratitude for 20 years of an amazing, wonderful cat. Also so much gratitude for Dr Sarah Pechmann and Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services who made this a sensitively supported, peaceful, gentle and respectful at home transition.
Dr. Rachel Ellis is the embodiment of compassion! The care she demonstrated in the at-home passing of our beloved dogs Sky and Lily is truly remarkable. This kind of compassionate care makes these incredibly difficult moments easier. My husband and son thank-you for being there for them and the dogs!
After a few months of declining health we had been dreading saying goodbye to our cat and taking him back to the vet as cars made him very anxious. We didn't find Midtown until his last day, and Barb gave us a same day appointment. As he declined through the day I called back and they arrived within 30 minutes, over 2 hours prior to the scheduled appointment with no hesitation but Nestor passed naturally only a few minutes before Dr. Stekel arrived. She offered kind words and handled him with such care. I am so grateful that Nestor's after life care was in good hands and everyone involved at Midtown have followed up and extend great support to us for grieving. Thank you for helping us through the most difficult time.
We had to make the heartbreaking decision to let our dog Max rest. We wanted him at home with us so his last moments were familiar and filled with love. Sarah from MMVHS helped us with the process. She was respectful, kind, supportive and gentle. Although our hearts are broken, we are convinced that this was the best and most loving decision. We could not have done it without MMVHS
Having to transition your animal into geriatric care or in-home euthanasia is extremely difficult but the staff at Midtown Mobile Veterinary make it a beautiful and calming experience. I highly recommend them to take care of your animal's needs.
From the time the phone was picked to the time Riley left us the care Midtown Mobile showed was incredibly sincere . Dr. Banks was very professional and was helpful in our grief. It was very hard as Riley was with us for 14 years. The idea of having his final hours at home was the best decision we made. Riley was relaxed in his own home. Dr. Banks let us say good bye on our time. Would highly recommend Midtown Mobile.
We recently had the privilege of collaborating with Dr. Sarah Pechmann from MMVHS. She became our family's partner in the last few weeks of our beloved dog's life, guiding us through the emotional minefield that we were navigating while dealing with our boy's illness. She made sure that we were prepared to provide our loved one with the best possible care considering his changing condition. She was loving, caring, supportive and constantly available to us as we were striving to make the best decisions for our dear family member. With her help, we unequivocally know that we ultimately made the best decision at the best of times for our dog, and there is great comfort in that. When the time came for our final goodbyes, Dr. Pechmann made sure that what could have been a horrible ordeal for us became a true gesture of compassion, love and respect for our baby boy. We were prepared, thanks to her guidance, to give our dog the sweetest send-off possible. Only a day or two later did we thoroughly realise what a gift she gave not only to our boy, but also to ourselves. We are forever thankful.
This past Saturday, we unfortunately required in-home pet euthanasia for our shih-tzu who was suffering from terminal cancer. Given that we also have another dog, it was important to us to have this service performed within the comfort of our home. Dr. Karen Stekel was very kind, patient and compassionate given the unfortunate situation. And even though our emotional level was extremely high, she was calm and collected throughout. She made the process stress-free and peaceful for our beloved pet in his final moments. We are so grateful that such a service exists and that it was offered at a fair price. In addition, all our questions were quickly answered through email, before and after the service. I would highly recommend this service to anyone having to make this difficult decision.
(Spot (white) is saying goodbye to Mozi) The vet clinic was Mozi's least favourite place. And I wouldn't want him to spend his last moments there being anxious and scared. I am so grateful to Dr. Ellis for her compassion and patience. She took the time to explain everything to me. Before the final moment, she waited patiently and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. It is probably more expensive. It may not make sense to some people, but this is the vet bill I am most willing to pay. Mozi got to spend his last moments in the comfort of his home. That's what matters the most.
Caring, empathetic, patient, and our Vet was also wonderful with our young children, explaining and including them in the process.
My family and I were so fortunate to have been referred to MMVHS. From the first contact via telephone I knew I had made the best choice for our beloved cat. Dr Lizete was first to treat him at his best Vet hospital and the last to help him pass. Thank goodness this service exists. I cried thinking I would have to drop him off at the clinic and not be allowed to be with him due to COVID restrictions.
It’s taken me a while to collect my thoughts and to express my sincere gratitude for the team at Midtown Mobile who recently took care of our family dog, Tazzie. It just so happened that a friend of mine recommended Midtown Mobile at the perfect time since Tazzie had been diagnosed with cancer and wasn’t doing so well at close to 15 years of age. We were put in touch with Dr. Sarah Pechmann who contacted us to arrange a visit to discuss how to make the most of Tazzie’s remaining time with us. Euthanasia was thought to be necessary in a month’s time or so. It was a pleasure working with Dr. Sarah. She made this most difficult time more easy for us. She was prompt with returning e-mails and phone calls. The suggestions she made in order to keep Tazzie comfortable were appreciated as was her calm and kind approach throughout the whole time. This was and still is a difficult time for us. We will never forget Midtown Mobile’s service and we would highly recommend them.
During COVID, hospitals don't allow us to go inside to hold our pets while they need us the most. Our 14 years old Guinevere was in immense pain for 2 nights. We called Midtown around 10 AM on Sunday, desperate to find someone to allow her to die in my arms, her favourite place to be. They returned our call within a few hours and managed to schedule an 8 pm Sunday appointment with Dr. Karen Stekel. Dr. Stekel was compassionate and kind throughout the most difficult time we had as a family. She gave us heads-up information about the process so we wouldn't be shocked on top of the misery we felt. Guinevere died peacefully on my lap. Dr. Stekel gave us a paw imprint, little fur trims to keep of Guinevere before bringing Guinevere's body home. She organized the cremation company's transactions, checked in on us and followed up with us to let us know her ashes were delivered at our vet's. Guinevere was in good hands and our family felt we were cared for in the most compassionate way possible. We thank God for Midtown Mobile Vets - the staff, Barb, and Dr. Stekel and all who indirectly were part of caring for our family.
From the initial call, to the in-home appointment to the follow-up, I cannot stress enough how compassionate and wonderful each and every person from Midtown was who helped me usher my beloved, but geriatric and disabled chocolate lab Baxter to his finally resting place. The entire team was supportive, compassionate, understanding and helped me make the tough decision that I knew I had to make. We performed the service on a bright, sunny day in my backyard where Dr. Sarah expertly handled the appointment, clearly pointing out each step, talking us through and being so very kind and loving to my best friend. The service was performed at the speed we requested with each step detailed out with love and compassion. Baxter took his last ride with love and compassion. Even the follow-up materials and supportive emails received after ward were very well received during an emotional time for me. Even the billing was done in a very compassionate manner. I have and will be recommending this team’s service to any and all who have an older animal that requires compassionate in-home (the only way to do this, in my humble opinion) euthanasia services. Thank you so much for showing Baxter such love in his final moments. I am forever grateful to Midtown Mobile Vets!
Having to make the call to Midtown Mobile Vets was one of the most difficult & heart wrenching, but the whole team was incredibly patient and compassionate while I arranged my cat Horatio’s final moments. Horatio had always been terrified of going to the vets, so having the vet come to the house, where he was able to pass peacefully, with my son & I beside him, while he was curled up in his favourite spot, made the entire thing a bit easier and less stressful. Dr. Suzanne Gallant was great, we didn’t feel rushed and she took great care with Horatio during the entire experience. While having to say goodbye to a beloved pet is something no one wants to do, I would definitely recommend Midtown Mobile Vets.
Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services and Dr. Banks are a godsend. I didn't want my very sick cat to have the memory of a clinic cage as her last memory so I contacted this service. Throughout the arrangements and procedure they were very caring, calming, and professional. Dr. Banks made Betty's passing as stress free as possible. I highly recommend this service to anyone wanting in home veterinary services.
I am so very grateful I chose MMVHS. Barb was so kind and patient when I first made the call -she followed through on absolutely everything as she promised on the phone. Dr Lizete Valdmanis was so loving, so gentle and patient with Spenser. It has made all the difference in the world to us that Spenser's passing was filled with loving kindness. I highly reccomend this exceptional service. Thank you forever for what you do - it matters!
Amazing
When it was time to say goodbye to my beloved 19 year old cat Tally, I knew I had to get in touch with Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. I have used their services with past cats, and in the pain and sadness of saying goodbye to our furry family members, the caring and compassion from each and every angel at MMVHS makes it just a little bit easier. Dr. Faith Banks, Dr. Rachel Ellis, Barb and Jane all worked together to ensure Tally was taken care of. Not only do they care about Tally, the care about me. They understand how hard it is to say goodbye, and they offer whatever you need to get through. I am so grateful for this service - in addition to the loving care they provide, everything is done at home, so there is no additional stress on the patient and owner. Tally died very peacefully surrounded by love...there is no better way to say goodbye. My other cat also got to say goodbye to Tally, so I think it was a bit easier on him so he understands that she's gone. I cannot thank Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services enough, and I highly, highly recommend their services.
Saying goodbye to your pet is a very difficult decision because you will always wonder if it was the right time. It will never be easy, but I feel the manner in which you choose to say goodbye means a great deal and can help you manage your grief. I am grateful and thankful to Dr. Karen and the rest of the staff at MMVHS for their compassion and care during this time. They gently detailed their process and asked for consent during each step, letting me know when it was time to say goodbye and when my beloved boy had passed. If you are in this very tough position, you have my deepest empathy and I suggest going with this service so your pet can pass comfortably, peacefully and with dignity on their favourite bed, in their favourite place with their favourite person (you). MMVHS very genuinely care for you and your pet, understand the bond you share and compassionately help you through this process, including providing grief materials and following up afterwards. I really do feel that my dog passed in a loving way and that I was able to manage my grief and loss easier because of the way I chose to say goodbye and the care that the staff here provided.
My boy was failing, and was in a horrible place, and I dreaded the trip to the vet clinic where he'd cry the entire way there and cry while there, stressed, freaked out, uncomfortable... This service let my baby rest comfortably in his home, on our bed, being cuddled by mama and dada. He wasn't stressed, he wasn't angry, he wasn't upset.... He was completely at peace. It was a gift I didn't think I could ever give my baby. Even the aftercare of MMVHS was amazing, they were sensitive, caring, compassionate. And everything that was included in this service was truly appreciated. I recommend the MMVHS to anyone who has a hard end of life decision to make for their fur baby. They have an amazing "Quality of life" scale on their site so you can make sure you're not doing this too early, that you're doing all you can for your baby.... I've never had to do this before, and I had a lot of trepidation, a lot of fear and apprehension.... but the MMVHS really helped.... they are an amazing organization
Major thank you to the office staff on Saturday and Sunday who were kind and patient. Midtown was the first place I called and it was speaking with them that I didn't bother calling another place. And major major thank you to Dr. Lizete Valdmanis for her kindness, warmth and clear explanation of what to expect. A really difficult situation went much better because of her. Knowing what's happening at every step because of her clarity made a heartbreaking event easier to process.
Thank you for helping me make the hard decision to give my cat a peaceful and compassionate end of life transition.
I'm forever grateful for Dr. Sarah and Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. She was so understanding, supportive and gentle with our beloved dog Happy and our entire family. Saying goodbye to a four-legged family member is never easy, but MMVHS helped us make the best out of a difficult decision. Happy's last few moments were filled with nothing but love and the peace and privacy offered with MMVHS made the world of a difference during this time. Thank you.
We just want to thank Sarah from Midtown Mobile Veterinary on helping our Charlie go onto his next step in his life. Her passionate care helped us all cope with his passing and I can not say enough how much we appreciate her service . Ballos Family, Toronto
We worked with Dr. Rachel Ellis when it was time to put our beloved cat to sleep. I cannot recommend the people of Midtown Mobile Vet enough. Everything was handled exactly the way we wanted it, from the scheduling of the appointment, the actual visit, to how the billing was done.
I cannot recommend Midtown Mobile Vet enough. When I called for an appointment after deciding it was best to put down our 19-year-old cat, Laura was so understanding and empathetic. I can't say enough about Dr. Lizete. She understood how difficult the decision was, always gave us time at the different stages to be with Logan, and she was so gentle with him. It made the world of a difference to be at home with him while he passed under the care of such an incredible, understanding vet. As hard as all this has been, having the support from MMVHS, even after his passing, has helped. Thank you, Dr. Lizete and team. You are all incredible.
We had to put down our little fur baby last year as she became sick very quickly. We called MMVH and Dr. Banks came to our place - she was wonderful and compassionate and made the process as pleasant as possible for us. It was a hard day but what we wanted as our way to say goodbye - I highly recommend services by Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice.
Although it was as a painful experience, MMVHS made our sweet boy Thor’s last moments incredibly peaceful and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Last year we had horrible middle of the night euthanasia experience with our dog at the VEC, which honestly left us traumatized. I didn’t want that for Thor, we knew it was coming as his health was slowly declining. Once he stopped eating we made the decision to contact MMVHS to explore what their process was and how we could arrange to make his last moments with us peaceful, before we ended up in another emergency situation. Everyone was so kind from the minute we contacted them. Even their tone of voice on the phone is calming and understanding, they are truly supportive and so wonderful to have in your corner during a time like this. Dr. Ellis came to our home and explained everything, and gave us all the time we needed. Although losing a pet is awful, it was so much easier to let him go knowing it was just one last nap in our bed (vs. the painful and traumatic experience of having to take them to a clinic where they are scared, especially during Covid when you can be with them the entire time). The cost is not much more than you would pay for an emergency vet trip, and they take care of everything depending on what you choose for aftercare. We received Thor’s ashes back in under 2 weeks, which was also nice as it took nearly 6 weeks with our dog when we used the VEC. I can’t say enough great things about our experience here. As awful as it was to lose him, the comforts gained from using MMVHS made the grieving process so much better. Thank you
Dr. Banks, Dr. Watt and the support staff at MMVS were nothing short of amazing in providing hospice care for our cat when he was diagnosed with degenerative heart disease. Dr. Banks was always an email away when I had questions and Dr. Watt was able to come to our house with little notice when we knew the end was near. I can’t recommend this service enough - to say goodbye to your beloved pet in your own home is an invaluable service, and it was provided with such respect and consideration. We couldn’t have asked for more during this difficult time.
I had to make a very hard decision to let my dog Rocco go on Thursday last week. He had been a part of my family since he was 6 weeks old and was part of my every single day for the last 11 years. To us he was a family member and the love this little guy gave my entire family was so special and whole. I loved Rocco with all my heart, and I was his mama. I wanted to send him off with dignity and respect. I contacted mmvhs and I am so glad I did. They were empathetic, professional and responsive. The whole process was handled flawlessly. From the email notifications, to the follow up after Rocco left, to the billing. I am sure all of the vets are good within this organization. We had Dr. Gallant and she was an angel. She explained every step, what to expect and did not rush us. She took time to get to know Rocco, asked about how he use to be and showed genuine care and compassion. I was a hot mess the next day and Dr. Gallant emailed me and sent her condolences, followed by some resources to help with the grieving process. I have spoken to many people and they all said they wish they had known this was an option. Rocco passed away peacefully in my arms, supported by his entire family and comfortable in his bed with his blanket. There could not have been a more peaceful way to say goodbye to my bubba. Thank you so much MMVHS for providing this service.
I highly recommend this service if you need mobile veterinary services. From the minute I called to a caring and compassionate experience, I couldn't have been more impressed.
Late December 2021, my husband and I made the difficult decision to put our sweet, elderly cat down for his final sleep. Since our regular veterinarian clinic could only have one person in due to COVID, we decided to find a mobile vet service that could provide end-of-life care for our cat at our home. We all needed to be together to say goodbye. After reading many positive reviews for Midtown Mobile Vet Services, we called to inquire. We were warmly greeted by Joanne, who was sensitive and kind, as she walked us through all of the information we needed to know. An appointment was made for the next morning with Dr. Lizete Valdmanis. She was gentle, caring and compassionate. As we went through the process she calmly explained what she was doing, involved us when she could and gave us the time and space to be with our cat at each stage. Thank you Dr. Valdmanis, for taking such good care of us and our friend. We are grateful to all of the staff who made this sad situation, from beginning to end, a little less painful with your kindness, understanding, and empathy. We highly recommend Midtown Mobile Vet Services. They do outstanding work for both pets and their humans. Thank you so much. Laura and Craig
Dr. Banks has been with us through many ups and downs. Having adopted 4 greyhounds in the past 10 years, she has helped them age gracefully in their retired racers life, and was there to support us when it was time to make the important family decisions for our dogs. We could not have done it without her care and support. #TheOnlyChoice Hugs and have #faith!
We cannot speak highly enough about Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. Their compassion and professionalism was evident from our first contact and throughout the services we received. We were devastated to find that, despite our efforts, our beautiful girl was no longer able to walk and that her condition was irrecoverable. We were relieved and reassured to be able to offer her the gift of a peaceful, stress and pain-free departure with the support and services of Midtown Mobile Veterinary. Without their services we would have been obliged to carry our disabled dog, in pain and fear, to her regular vet. Dr. Pechmann and all the staff at Midtown Mobile were exemplary in their kindness and understanding. We recommend their services without reservation, will share their contact information with fellow animal lovers and will keep their contact information at hand as we hope to adopt another rescued dog when the time is right.
A wonderful sincere help in a time of sadness and need. Midtown Mobile was gracious and very flexible with regards to our Chinook and his passing. They were welcoming to adapt to our needs and the service at home was very caring and professional. As sad as the time was for us, Midtown Mobile at least brought comfort and dignity to the entire process. RIP CHINOOK.
Wonderful experience with everyone at MMVH. Dr. Karen was incredibly kind, compassionate and professional. They were able to see me same day and my pet was able to go in the most comfortable way possible. Would recommend to anyone considering st home euthanasia and palliative care.
Compassionate and thoughtful engagement with staff and veterinarians as they guided us through the heartbreaking decisions we needed to make. The final act of humane euthanasia at home was gentle and calm for our beloved pet.
I highly recommend Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice. I had to put down my beautiful little Minnie last year and everyone at MMVH was incredibly compassionate and made the process as peaceful as possible for both myself and Minnie. Dr. Ellis was fantastic.
I'm grateful to the services offered by Dr Rachel Ellis and Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services for end of life care. Besides the care and concern shown by Rachel when she visited my home to ease Annie into death, she made a point of making two clay imprints of Annie's paw on her last day, so that I could give one to my son, who couldn't be there. She also followed up with emails and grief resources, and then a card that included my son's name, even though I had only briefly mentioned his name. The care felt so authentic, and was especially appreciated after the lack of care shown by the vet that Annie had seen for almost six years. The vet clinic also made a donation to OVC Pet Trust in Annie's name, which was a very lovely touch. The clinic also arranged for cremation and the cost included this service and the urn.
We were so grateful for Midtown Mobile Vet Services in our last moments with our beloved dog June. Not only were they extraordinarily patient, kind, helpful and compassionate, they made one of the most difficult moments peaceful and beautiful, and June was able to fall asleep, stress-free, in her own bed in her favourite spot at home, eating chicken. We cannot recommend this service enough, our only regret is not having known about them for previous pet's passings. Thanks again to the vets and the staff.
One of the most difficult things I have done in a while but midtown made it bearable and were so kind, punctual, communicative, and helped assure me I was making the right choice and that my pet passed on without pain or fear like he would have at a vet clinic. Amazing Service. Would recommend to anyone.
Letting go was the hardest thing i’ve ever had to do, but Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services made the process respectful, peaceful, and loving. I am so glad that I chose to go with them for at-home euthanasia. MMVHS was very easy to work with, they gave me a same day evening appointment, and Dr. Karen Stekel was extremely kind and respectful during the entire process. They gave me some complimentary mementos to remember my beautiful boy and even sent me a beautiful card in the week following his passing. I highly recommend MMVHS and I cannot say enough good things.
Incredibly offensive. Tried to rush her death because the vet was ahead of schedule and it was convenient. They're just trying to make a quick buck. I ended up going elsewhere. Turns out this place has quite a few complaints.
When it was time to euthanize our beloved 16 year old dog, we didn't know where to turn. Our amazing vet did not make house calls and as good as he is, he was not helpful with recommendations for geriatric care and how to talk to us about euthanasia. Fortunately, we found Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. As you can imagine, I was truly distraught when I called them but the responsiveness and service I received from them (shout out to Barb) was such a huge relief. Dr. Sarah Pechmann came to our home and with the greatest care and tenderness put our very unwell dog to sleep. We felt completely reassured that our dog had the best care and that she would be laid to rest in a respectful manner. While this is a deeply difficult and sad subject, I really felt that I needed to share our experience in this review because it's an important service that is humane to pets at their most vulnerable time. I sincerely hope that other pet owners and their pets find relief thanks to MMVHS. One more thing, they have made available quite a few helpful and educational resources on their website (videos especially) that deal with the topic of geriatric pet care and hospice services. I highly recommend these if you are struggling with this situation.
Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Staff were completely sensitive to the doubts and sadness that a family goes through when saying goodbye to one of its most loving members. We had a truly touching garden home euthanasia for our sweet 16.5 year old Shih Tzu. Thank You Joanne, Dr Sarah Pechmann & MMVH services, who prepared us, supported us, and ultimately cared for Gizmo. The keepsakes to remember her by are not only thoughtful but also beautiful.
Please, if your pet loved one has come to that time in their life when it’s necessary to consider either palliative care or end of life assistance, consider Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. It was late one evening my 18 year old cat, Athena suffered a debilitating heart attack that brought my girl to the end of her time with me. Though she held on, it was clear that her quality of life had been reduced to the point it was time to say goodbye. Though I would have at the time preferred to bring Athena to her normal vet, they were simply so busy we would have to have waited up to three days to get in. It was at this time my vets office recommended Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. After reviewing their website and reading all reviews I could find, I decided that this may in fact be an even better choice as it would let my girl Athena pass quietly at home, laying in her favourite blanket and not having to travel in a carrier. I reached out to MMVHS via email requesting a call back to discuss availability. I received a call back same day and was able to schedule an appointment. From the administrators working for MMVHS, to Dr. Stekel who came to attend to Athena, every single person I dealt with was empathetic, sympathetic, patient, efficient, and knowledgeable. Every single step, every question I hadn’t even thought of, was covered before the appointment even took place. On the day of the appointment Dr. Stekel was able arrive five minutes early. From the moment we met, Dr. Stekel was very clear and thorough to explain every step that was going to take place; from the procedure itself to how Athena’s remains would be handled afterwards. Dr. Stekel was not only kind, compassionate and respectful to me, most importantly she treated my sweet girl the same way. From the way Dr. Stekel spoke to Athena, to the gentleness with which she performed the two injections, Athena was given utmost respect. As your pets age, you want to do all your can to help them live as long as possible, as healthy as possible. But when you see the signs that helping your pet loved one pass on has become the greater kindness, giving them their best possible death is not only the most important goal, it has helped me to process my grief. If you’re lucky enough that you have the opportunity to do so; that your loved one’s passing wasn’t for some reason sudden, knowing you were able to provide a peaceful and above all respectful death has given me strength when feeling such acute loss. And it was made possible by the amazing group of people working at Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. If you’ve had reason to read this review, I am very sorry for the pain you’re going through right now. But based on my experience, MMVHS was absolutely the best option for my sweet girl Athena and I would highly recommend you consider them in your pet loved ones end of life care.
I am so glad I chose to call Midtown Mobile Vet when it was time to euthanize my beloved Mr Fu. Barb set up our appointment and answered questions with empathy and patience. Dr. Rachel's sincerity and kindness allowed Mr Fu to pass with grace and love. I'll always be grateful to her and the Midtown Mobile Vet team for helping me get through this profoundly sad experience with so much compassion and warmth. Thank you.
It's always tough when a much loved animal passes away but losing our cat Echo during the lockdown was devastating. We found Midtown Mobile professional, empathetic and caring. Having Dr. Ellis come to our home for Echo's after care made the process less painful, especially because we didn't have to move our kitty when she was in her final days. I recommend them very highly.
The best way to send your loved one off. This was the most difficult experience of my life and Dr. Pechmann's care and attention made to so very special. I was heartbroken with the loss of my dear Honey and Dr. Pechmann and the team helped ease my mind and transition her beautifully. I will never forget the experience and having those final moments of love and comfort with her. Thanks does not seem to be enough to say for how grateful I am for having had this experience.
On October 15th, 2020, we had to help our beautiful boy (Mr. Biggles, aka Pants) transition after a sudden decline due to severe intestinal conditions. I can only thank the whole MMVHS team from the very bottom of my heart. This has been an extremely difficult time, and is a momentous loss for me after almost 15 years together. I cannot imagine any way that this rite could have gone better and I feel like my lovely kitty's life was honored in every way possible - especially by letting him pass gently at home, where he felt safe. Dr. Rachel Ellis, as well as each staff I spoke to, made me feel heard, seen, and valued. I got help in making sure I made the right choice, which has been invaluable in addressing some of the "what-ifs" and guilt that initially overwhelmed me. I received calm and compassionate support before, during, and after Mr. Pants crossed the rainbow bridge. I highly recommend going to the MMVHS team for what is one of the hardest moments in an animal lover's life. In gratitude, Michelle.
Finding out that my beloved cat Tony was sick was the worst news of my life, and knowing I needed to put him down quickly was an incredibly hard decision. Especially during covid. I just wanted to hold him. Having them come to my house and allow us the space to say good bye how we saw fit gave us such relief. Thank you for being like a friend on the hardest day I’ve had yet. It felt weird saying thank you after, but I know it was the best thing to do for my cat. ????grateful for your love and compassion.
Compassionate and professional service in one of the saddest periods of our lives. Dr. Valdmanis was extremely kind and so professional, my Wally girl went so peacefully and smoothly that it went better than I had expected. She was open to intravenous administration instead of intra-abdominal route, which was greatly appreciated by us. Barb was so patient during intake and was so understanding and compassionate. I would definitely recommend this team to anyone else caught in this heart-breaking situation.
I lost my sweet angel Mata almost 2 months ago. Midtown Mobile allowed me to let her pass peacefully and with so much grace, I cannot even explain how helpful the entire process was. If you want your pet's final moments to be treated with care and compassion, definitely use this service - their nurses are amazing and your pet will feel your love - I know Mata surely did.
My cat was the next thing to feral. She was 18 years old when she died, and I always dreaded her last days; she was such a difficult cat even to provide with regular veterinary care -- I didn't see how her death could be anything but a true nightmare, especially during covid. My veterinarian recommended Midtown. I never expected anything like the help we were given -- I didn't think it was possible. My little cat had such a peaceful good death. She was the kind of cat who was never meant to be a pet and the stress of living with humans was so hard for her, her whole life long. When I held her little body at the end, I thought, Darling girl, your death was better than your life.
I could not have wished for a more professional, respectful and caring vet to help our family say goodbye to our 16 year old shih tzu. From my very first email to MMVHS to inquire about the dreaded process, to the visit from Dr. Pechmann, and finally the thoughtful email check ins after our dog had passed, the team at the clinic was absolutely wonderful. I found the clinic by a google search and was quickly convinced by reading reviews of pet families that also had to say goodbye. Dr. Pechmann first discussed the process with us and answered our questions in as much detail as we wanted to know. She then asked if we were ready for her to administer the sedative and offered options to administer it in the least anxiety- producing way for our dog. She left the room and gave us plenty of time to hug and comfort our dog and even suggested compassionate and gentle things to say and do so he knows how much he’s loved. It was beautiful and peaceful and I would highly recommend this team for a respectful and honourable goodbye to any beloved pet.
So much gratitude! Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services made it possible to be with my friend at home in her last moments.... yes even during Covid-19. The understanding and compassion shown at every step was remarkable. Loosing a pet will always be painful, but with this service you give your pet an end we would all wish for... at home in loving arms. Thank you.
Dr. Rachel Ellis helped our 18-year-old cat Moka pass recently and we are so grateful she was able to come to our home for the procedure. Her bedside manners were wonderful and she did an amazing job of putting the family at ease despite it being a distressing day. The procedure felt personal and almost positive with how smoothly it went and the privacy the practice offers. We would not hesitate to call Midtown Mobile again, the entire team was very sensitive while dealing with the family and made a hard time the tiniest bit easier. Highly recommend to anyone who has to say goodbye to their furry friend.
Compassion, empathy, understanding at a time where doubt fills your heart. We cannot thank Rachel and all at Midtown Mobile for their support and care throughout this most difficult time. Their support has continued in the days after our loss and we will be forever grateful. Truly grace filled empathy.
Our beloved dog Spencer has been having health issues for a few months, but his health quickly deteriorated when he had bladder stones that caused a blockage. He's not a candidate for surgery, so after spending two nights at the emergency vet he was sent back home (they pushed the stones back up into his bladder). 30 hours after being released, we were rushing back at 1am since he couldn’t pee again. They once again pushed the stones into his bladder, but as the vet said “we’re out of options”. We took him home and made the painful decision to let him go. We contacted Midtown Mobile, and Joanne was wonderful on the phone. I explained that this was a bit urgent as we were at high risk of him having another obstruction and we wanted him to go in peace at home and not at the clinic in pain. The next day was New Year’s Day and Dr. Valdmanis came to our home. She explained everything in detail. Spencer even went up to her to say hello. He went very peacefully in my arms. Euthanasia is a very difficult decision, but the word means “good death”. Our final gift to Spencer was giving him a good death. We cannot thank you enough for your kindness and compassion on one of the hardest days of our life. We are truly grateful.
I highly recommend Midtown Mobile Vet. The whole team is very compassionate, highly knowledgeable, highly skilled, and of course very professional. We first asked them to come for a consult, because our dog was getting old, and we wanted to add a home vet to our roster for when 'that time' came. Dr Banks, who is upto date on pain management and other supports for a senior pet, tweaked our medication protocol, which, coupled with her suggestions for mobility management, gave us another full year with our guy. Then, when the dreaded time came to decide if/when to put him down, Dr Pechmann and Dr Stekel, as well as Barb and Jennifer in admin, made the whole process, go as smoothly and peacefully as it could possibly be. If you choose Midtown Mobile Vet, and I really do think you would be making an excellent choice, you will be assured of the highest standard of care, coupled with extraordinary compassion and support.
Thank you so much for helping our sweet Mia cross over in the most peaceful way possible. Everyone at Midtown Mobile Veterinary was wonderful through this whole process. We miss Mia so much, but we are comforted by the fact that her final moments were at home and pain free.
I cannot say enough great things about Midtown Mobile Vet. Joanne who coordinated the logistics on the phone, was very informative and compassionate. Dr. Ellis is truly amazing. She was compassionate, informative and extremely helpful. She gave me options for my sick dog, and ultimately I took him to a neurosurgeon that she arranged for me, and help me carry him to my car. She went way above and beyond at a time when I was in need.. you can tell that she genuinely cares about you and your animal. I can't thank her enough. If you're ever faced with this tough decision, I wouldn't hesitate to call them. Thank you all so much.
This service is a godsend. Rachel made a horrific day bearable and we were as comfortable as we could have possibly been. Really could not have thought of a better way to say goodbye to our sweet aussie, Dakota. <3
What an incredible service. Having the experience of putting a pet down at the vet this is by far the best option. Being at home with them where both you and your pet are comfortable is priceless. The customer service for scheduling and the vet visit itself are just a bunch of incredible individuals working here. They definitely made a horrible time less painful. Would 100% recommend them to anyone.
The people at Midtown Mobile Veterinary have been deeply compassionate and caring during the most difficult time, saying goodbye to our most beloved companions. Their services, both in palliative care and end of life, were provided with such dignity, kindness and respect for our well being and that of our most cherished dog.
The love and care that MMVHS has shown from the moment that they arrived at my home to the end was impeccable! Lizete was so kind and gentle. She cared about my loving dog and was respectful and did it amazingly during this covid time. Thank you.!
On January 15th I had the worst day of my life as most pet owners do, needing to make the choice to put your fur baby out of misery, midtown and a special woman named Karen made that day a little bit easier for all of us. I had a beautiful 16 year old shitzu named cookie, and I wouldn’t have wanted anything changed about the way she left this earth. Karen was the most understanding, loving vet I’ve ever met. I even had nerve to ask her how she does what she but now I understand that she’s got the heart of an angel and she’s perfect at what she does… Rest In Peace my beautiful girl. I will see you soon. Xo
I do not even know where to begin with this review. Abbi was my first dog ( and will always be my forever dog ). Weeks shy of her 14th birthday she started having more and more mobility issues and finally had a few strokes and her mobility became non-existant and our difficult choice began. Right to the very end, she had her goofy silly 'puppy' attitude and so saying goodbye was incredibly difficult. We had the pleasure of having Dr Watts come to our house to assist with her final moments. She was the consummate professional mindful of our grief and need to cuddle and hold Abbi's paw, while still administering the requisite procedure. It is a difficult thing to endure to say goodbye, but Dr Watts ensured it was peaceful and done in the most comforting way. I highly recommend this service. It is professional, compassionate and empathetic.
Thank goodness for Midtown Mobile Vet Hospice. They were quick to respond, courteous, gentle, sympathetic, and kind. We were able to book an appointment next day. Lizete, our wonderful vet, was the perfect Angel to send our dear Alfred home. Their team followed up with kind emails, resources, and love. We are so grateful that Alfred didn't have to go through the stress of getting into this carrier, going to the vet, and spending his last minutes in a scary environment. His passing was peaceful and sweet thanks to Midtown Mobile. We will forever be grateful.
I can't say enough about the quality of care we received with Karen from MMVHS during the last moments of our precious Sweet Pea's life. Karen explained the end-of-life procedure with compassion and care. Using the home care service helped reduce the stress our cat was feeling because of her cancer. I would not hesitate to use them again.
I can not speak highly enough of Midtown Mobile Services - they are truly angels on earth! Barb the team manager and the person who answered my call was the just the warmest and most compassionate woman, I immediately felt at ease when I called her in crisis, as if I had known her for ever. Dr. Rachel Ellis put my sweet boy Puma to rest and I couldn't have imagined a more peaceful and beautiful send off for him. She was very patient with us and it was obvious she was genuinely invested in her work and care for animals and the people who love them. They are a very special team of dedicated people and as pet owners we are very lucky to have them to bring comfort and support during such a painful time.
From the moment Dr Rachel walked into my home I knew I had made the right albeit difficult choice. She treated me with patience, kindness and empathy to let our beloved Kitty pass on. He was able to sit on his favorite perch on the sofa arm while Rachel worked around him, encouraging me to talk to him and assured me he could still hear me even tho he was sedated. She made me feel his life was well lived and my love for him was testimonial to that. I strongly recommend this choice if you have to face this difficult decision. It avoided so much emotional trauma of going to a clinic and gave a peaceful ending for my wonderful cat. Thank you Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services - you are truly a pet owners angels. Sandy Graham - Kitty's 'Mum',
these people are angels. dr. sarah pechmann and support staff jane and jennifer were patient and kind. we wouldn't use any other service.
When it was finally time to say goodbye to our beloved Baldr, MMVHS made that painful time easier to bear. Barb was able to move our same-day appointment earlier in the day, because our poor guy was suffering, and when Dr. Sarah Pechmann arrived, she was compassionate, considerate, and professional. I can't recommend these kind, caring people highly enough.
The most heartbreaking day has been made so much gentler by Dr Lizette. I can’t thank her enough. Midtown Vets have gone above and beyond to help our beloved Bubbles. He needed medicine very late at night they got it to us. This morning, Bubbles had deteriorated further, we knew it was time for him to leave us and Dr Lizette was at our house within the hour. The process was so gentle and Dr Lizette was informative so nothing came as a shock. Our 11 year old daughter was with us (which I hadn’t intended to happen it just did), Dr Lizette was so kind, gentle and calm. She explained step by step in a very gentle way what would happen. We honestly didn’t even see the needles needed to administer the drugs. I can’t express how relieved and thankful we are that Bubbles is now at peace. 100% an outstanding service.
Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospital was our choice because they were available, but we were lucky and glad we went with them. Dr. Rachel Ellis had a professional, low-key and soothing demeanour. She asked questions to find out how our cat would likely have been feeling up to the visit and it was helpful because we better understood the rightness of our choice, which made things easier. She did a very good job of making sure we knew what was coming and what we could do to help our cat go peacefully. Rachel managed to perform the procedure while my partner and I were sidled up close to our cat the whole time, not a foot away from us. I was impressed by her technical skill: I barely noticed what she was doing and she was so low-key in her work that didn't notice the second needle. And frankly, I was astonished by her gentility and tact. Throughout, it was like she wasn't there. And at the end she was so kind. She also left useful reading materials, and we ended up finding our pet aftercare service through her, which was amazing. Contact me for details. The aftercare experience as a whole would not have been so good if it weren't for Rachel's instructions. She has a deep and broad understanding of her practice. Consider donating to Mobile Midtown Veterinary Hospital's fund to help pet parents who can't afford to give their pets the comfort and dignity of passing at home. The vet /did not/ solicit us for this. I asked if I could support her service and she suggested the fund. Also, with Covid-19 out there, please consider giving your vet a clean space to work in, wear your masks, and when possible mind the social distance. x
When the time came to put down our beloved pet, Nemo, it was easy to select Midtown for this task. From the moment we first made contact via phone calls and emails, the staff were nothing short of awesome in their professionalism and display of compassion. Dr Rachel Ellis was perfect for our needs and her disposition, knowledge and empathy helped our family through a difficult time. We were very thankful that Nemo was in her good hands. Thank you again to everyone at Midtown for everything!
Sarah Pechmann made a very sad situation as tolerable as humanly / humanely possible. The process was well explained in advance, and Sapphire was first calm, and then fast asleep and out of pain before the final injection - she never even flinched, which made it much easier. Sarah gave all the time needed and offered more. 3rd time I have had to do this - and it's always terrible, but this was handled best of the 3 by the vet, and caused a beloved friend the least distress.
The decision to end a pet's suffering is one of the hardest decisions anyone can make. The staff at Midtown were extremely comforting and compassionate through the entire experience. Dr. Karen was especially comforting, as she calmly walked us through the process and continually confirmed that we were ready to move to the next step. We were so thankful that we were able to be with our little guy as he passed peacefully at home, with dignity. I cannot recommend Midtown MVHS enough.
My family reached out to Midtown when we learned that our nearly 20-year old beloved family cat, Gary needed to be euthanized. When our regular vet gave us the news that Gary was in pain and it was time to say goodbye to him, I knew that we should all be together for the procedure and that it should be in our home, where he could be more comfortable and where we could all have some privacy. A number of sources all pointed to Midtown as the best choice. They were responsive, thoughtful, caring and walked us through the steps and our options with tact and empathy. We were able to get an appointment quickly but weren't made to feel rushed at any point. All of the staff we interacted with, via email, telephone and in-person were helpful, kind, and compassionate. My family and I are incredibly grateful to the whole midtown team for making a very difficult experience that much easier and for helping our dear Gary say goodbye so peacefully, painlessly, and humanely. Thank you, Midtown.
MMVHS provided us with incredibly compassionate care as we said goodbye to our cherished dog of 16 years last week. The administrative staff I spoke with on the phone, and Dr Banerjee who did the home visit, were all amazing, patient, and sensitive. I have no complaints nor regrets, and would not have done anything different. I truly appreciate their kindness and expertise during this difficult time. Thank you so much.
When you need to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to your beloved fur baby Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services will be the best decision you will make. Every single person I spoke with was SO kind and compassionate. Dr. Wallik made me feel at ease the second I met her and made one of my worst days so much more bearable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Plan ahead, they seem warm and welcoming. I was too late. But the customer service was great.
Dr. Lizete was our vet that helped us with our yorkie, Maggie. She did everything she could to make sure we were comfortable especially through this difficult time. We are so thankful to have had Lizete do this process for us. She is very professional, caring and made sure we had everything that we needed. She was able to walk us through all the steps from start to finish while showing the most compassion. Thank you so much. We all appreciate how kind and helpful Dr. Lizete was to our family and our baby.
Our Archie left us today. I am so thankful my friend found this place. My dog was suffering so much every minute was torturing to him. They came and Dr. Faith Banks was very thorough, asked about his conditions, patiently helped us through the process and explained everything. He went peacefully. We thank this clinic so much. Although Archie left us, they made it much easier for us to accept with their professionalism, understanding and patience. Thank you for being here for Archie. ????
Our Great Dane unfortunately passed away at night but Midtown Mobile responded to my late night message in regards to retrieving and cremating his body . Dr Ellis came out the next day and was so caring and kind. As a healthcare professional, to be on the other side and to be treated so warm and kindly during such an emotional period is such a testament to this great service that they provide. Joanne especially was very understanding and helpful on the phone. Cheers to Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services!!!!
It was a very difficult day. Dr Karen made it so much more comfortable for everyone and was extremely patient and caring. It did not feel rushed at all and the whole experience was kind and graceful. I am grateful for Midtown Mobile for treating my dog with so much care during the end of his life.
Thank you Midtown, and Dr. Valdmanis for your care and compassion and helping my beautiful boy Blanket safely and humanely pass over the rainbow bridge. You and your team are angels, and have so much compassion. Thank you for being there for us at all times. For allowing me to cry on the phone, and feeling so comfortable in my boys last moments. Thank you.
Like many I wish we had call these wonderful folks sooner after our dog's first seizures. We thought they were a one off. The Help 'Em Harness they recommended and fitted on our dog meant we were able to give our dog an amazing last week as he learnt to walk again for the second time. We took him swimming twice and were able to get him out of the condo. He had hated the sling and a wagon we got him. The quality of life assessment tools they talked us through really helped bring us peace, they provide good advice on pain management which is stressful when your pet starts refusing to eat. But mostly the compassion of everyone on the team was incredible. They took as much time as was needed. Was always reachable and made the hardest day more bearable. We wanted to avoid saying goodbye at the Emergency Vets which had become a stressful place for him after he got sick. With MMVHS we were lucky enough a crisis did not come in the middle of the night. Can never thank this team enough.
They truly show humanity. Care for us and they even kept up after our baby girl Juanita was put to death. This was our second loss and the first at vets office traumatized us not now. We miss our girl but she went in daddys arms.
Dr Ellis you are a godsend. What can I even say, just thank you, my entire heart is filled with pure gratitude for Dr. Ellis and how empathetic, kind and genuinely loving and caring she was for my little Momo. The grief has pretty much consumed me and my wife but the only thing that is getting me through it is knowing my little guy was in the best hands. Dr Ellis and I’m sure the entire team are doing something not many can or would be willingly do and I’m beyond grateful. Momo hated leaving the house, hated his carrier, hated going to the vet and having the option to do it at home was our best chance at him going peacefully. Momo tends to hide from strangers but I think he immediately picked up on her kindness and was completely relaxed with her in the room. I could not have asked for a better experience given the circumstances. God I miss him so much, everything just hurts. Those are 12 years that have no monetary value. Thank you thank you thank you for being there with us at the end and taking care of my boy.
Very compassionate and supportive.
The team at Midtown Mobile was a 10/10 along each step of the difficult journey of saying goodbye to my senior dog. Joanne was immensely supportive, informative, and responsive. Dr. Stekel was the perfect vet for the difficult task. I couldn't have asked for a more peaceful goodbye at home for my loved one. Thank you, Midtown Mobile.
We are so grateful for MMVHS for assisting in the "walking on" process for our beautiful girl Breezy. The kindness and compassion shown to our beloved family member was exceptional. Big big thanks to Dr Rachel Ellis for being so gentle and compassionate to Breezy and to us. Breezy was able to walk on, in her favourite backyard place, with the birds, trees and her loved ones present...perfect! We highly recommend MMVHS! Thank you! Brent and Sherry
We are so glad that our dog was able to go peacefully at home and that all of us could be there. Dr. Ellis's professionalism and expertise were perfectly balanced her warmth and friendliness, making the whole experience as pleasant as it could possibly be. Midtown Mobile Vet provides an invaluable service to people like us, especially in light of COVID restrictions, and we are eternally grateful.
We had Karen, a mobile vet, come to our home and assist with end of life care for our large dog. She was very kind and explained everything gently and clearly. They were able to fit us in same day, as our dog was so unwell. It was a challenging situation but the service was the best possible experience we could imagine - saying goodbye in the backyard on a blanket. Highly recommended.
We cannot thank you enough for your compassionate, immediate, professional and empathetic assistance in our time of need. Your experience, expertise and knowledge were evident; your sincerity and understanding so appreciated. The service you offer and fulfill is a most beautiful and dignified way to help us transition our loved ones. You made our experience a very peaceful and cherished one. It was as stress-free as such an occasion can be. We highly recommend your services and with sincere heartfelt gratitude we give thanks to everyone we dealt with at Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. We trust many other beloved souls will find the comfort and peace we all did. God bless you and thank you. May your business flourish. Neil and Beth
Lizete was amazing. I had to make the sad decision to put my beloved cat to sleep, he had kidney failure at only 8 years old and I was devastated. She turned a moment of true pain into one I can look back on and find the beauty in. She was so kind, soft-spoken, and soothing. She made the procedure as smooth and gentle as it could be. Because of this facility I was able to hold my kitty in my arms as he went to sleep, and I'll always remember that feeling of love. She gave and held space for my feelings, and was excellent at picking up on my cues without making me feel rushed in the slightest. She must be very empathetic, because I barely had to communicate a word - she seemed to know and understand. Cannot say enough how much I appreciated Lizete's house call. She even helped me take a stamp of his paw print, and sent a follow up email sharing her condolences. I'm so grateful for a wonderful experience out of an awful situation.
The care and compassion of the MMVH team was a huge support to us as we cared for our sweet KC in her final days, as was the after care they provided once she passed.
I highly recommend this clinic for at-home euthanasia. Everyone I interacted with here was kind, patient and compassionate. The vet who administered the euthanasia to our beloved family pet was exceptionally lovely. She took her time to talk us through the process and gave us plenty of time and space to grieve.
The staff and vet at MMV were incredibly compassionate and made a very challenging experience the best it could be. While it's a painful experience, I'm so happy we took this approach as our girl went to sleep in a comfortable and happy environment. It was also nice to say goodbye without feeling rushed or awkward like you would in a public setting like a Vet's office.
Joanne was kind and helpful, and Dr Ellis allowed us to say goodbye to our loved one, at home, with compassion and dignity. At such a difficult time for our family, we are so grateful for the service they provided. Many thanks to Joanne and Dr Ellis for their kindness and support. We highly recommend this service.
I cannot speak more highly of this service. From the first phone call to a thoughtful follow-up, every need was met during the entire process. Dr. Rachel Ellis was able to come on a last-minte appt. and was so lovely to deal with. She made an awful situation manageable. Highly recommend this service to anyone searching for help with their pet.
Today, my grand kitty Shakespeare, went to the Rainbow Bridge with the assistance of Dr. Banks and Dr. Banerjee. This method is by far the most dignified for your animal when it’s time to say goodbye. Both doctors were very kind, calming in nature and full of compassion and professionalism all of which was of the highest standard. It was a slow, methodical process as each step was explained carefully. They listened with interest as I told stories of Shakespeare throughout the process. He had a very peaceful passing in the comfort of his home without the added stress of going to a veterinarian. I would highly recommend this service to anyone that needs to say goodbye to a pet.
Dr. Valdmanis was wonderful. We were so upset, she was a calming presence. My beautiful Weylin was able to pass peacefully at home.
Thank you to Dr. Rachel Ellis and the whole team at Midtown Mobile. Your compassion and professionalism made this very difficult time a little easier. So glad that our Freddie was able to be comfortable at home. We miss him dearly.
Saying goodbye to your pet is obviously hard. Dr. Sarah was so compassionate and lovely. I couldn’t imagine honouring my fur baby any other way. Dr. Sarah also walked us through steps to assist our other dog with the loss. Honestly this service is priceless.
I couldn't have asked for better service during hard time. I dealt with Dr. Karen and Dr. Sarah and they were both so amazing. Very honest while being so compassionate towards the pet and owner. The palliative plan was very thorough and having to go through the euthanasia process was heartbreaking, but they made it a beautiful moment that I can forever be grateful for.
I contacted Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services for a same-day euthanasia appointment when it was clear that we could no longer manage the pain for our beloved dog Reggie and he was suffering. Dr. Karen Stekel arrived that evening and I cannot thank her enough for making Reg's final moments beautiful, comfortable and special for him as well as for us. She was extremely patient and generous, giving us plenty of time and space to say goodbye, and she guided us through the process with grace and kindness. She took our cues and never rushed anything, and my 4-year-old son, my husband and I were all consulted and included every step of the way. Despite the sadness and emptiness in our home now, I feel really good about the decision to allow Reg to pass away peacefully at home, literally in my lap, surrounded by his loving family. I couldn't ask for a better end-of-life experience for a great dog who has given us so much love over the years. Dr. Stekel is a truly special person for the work she does and for her approach. She has deep knowledge and respect for the human-companion animal bond, and it is woven into the way she operates. I thank her and Midtown Mobile from the bottom of my heart, and highly recommend their services.
This service was heaven sent. Our beautiful sweet cat of 18 years passed just yesterday. Dr Pechmann was as gentle with us as she was with Lucky. She tenderly helped Lucky through her last minutes as if she had been our pet's doctor for the 18 years of her life. She explained the entire procedure and always stopped to see if WE were o.k. She took an interest in Lucky's life and we were able to break the sadness with moments of smiles and laughter. I so appreciate your help Dr. Pechmann. To the service - thank your for sympathy and fast arrangements to help Lucky enter a pain-free and serene world.
When we learned our cat was dying of cancer, we knew we wanted to make his final bit of time as peaceful and pain-free as possible at home. I found Midtown Mobile Vet. hospital online while searching for home pet euthanasia services and emailed them. The next morning I received a call and immediately felt more at ease. The news of our little one's fate was a complete shock and obviously, there's never a pleasant way to deal with it. MMVH staff have been so helpful through this sad time by listening, coming over to do a consultation with us and giving a thorough explanation of what meds would help his pain, what his quality of life looks like now, where he is at in his cancer prognosis...things the vet didn't have time for. In 2 days a hospice vet from their team will return and do the at-home euthanasia with us. I am so sad about it but feel so grateful for their support and kindness, and highly recommend their services. Thank you Midtown Mobile, your services are invaluable.
Our beloved Diddy was put to rest gently. Thank you
Professional, sensitive, compassionate, helped make one of the worst days of my life a tad more bearable. Was so happy! Not to have to take my sweet boy out of the house or even move him at h ome. If you must euthanize your loved pet this is the way to do it.
Amazing experience with the whole crew from Midtown especially with Dr. Sarah Pechmann. Charlie our beloved Labradoodle got ill really quick and went downhill very fast. Dr. Sarah was kind, compassionate and offered many words of comfort as well as her professional opinion on Charlie’s deteriorating health and well being. She truly assured us that this was the best decision at the best time for him and everyone else involved. Being able to say goodbye to our sweet dog at home, in his safe space with people who loved him was devastating yet very beautiful at the same time. Would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to a friend. 10 stars!
The staff and veterinarian Dr. Valdmanis were professional, comforting and compassionate to us and our loved pet, Sam. Especially during the pandemic, providing this sad but valuable service, in our home, made the process very personal without the distractions that occur in an office environment.
Saying good bye to my wonderful old wiener dog was so hard. He was my sweet boy for so long. He had such bad anxiety in the last few weeks when he wasn't home, going to my vet would have been so uncomfortable for him. Unfortunately my vet had a covid outbreak and I was referred to Midtown to consider at home euthanasia. Dr. Lizete Valdmanis came out and was so kind, compassionate, caring. Treated Horatio like he was the precious dog he is, like he was her own beloved dog. She explained everything, gave me as much time with him as I needed, a paw print, and some fur clippings and resources to help through this difficult time. Its about double what you would pay at a vet clinic but...it was worth every dollar. This was the best decision for my Horatio, who has been nothing but a wonderful companion to me. I'm so happy I was able to give him the opportunity to pass peacefully in my arms, in the sunshine, in the yard he loved to be in. Highly recommended. Thank you for your compassionate care.
It’s been one week since Charlie Cat ran off to kitty heaven and we would like to give thanks to Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services terrific staff, Nicola, Jill, Joan, Barb and especially Dr Lizete Valdmanis. Dr Lizete is an angel of compassion and kindness. She arrived at our home within 2 hours of our call and with gentle, loving care helped Charlie and us to a peaceful loving goodbye.
My son and I met with Dr Lizete last week to discuss care for our little lady Lily. We are not at the stage yet where we need to make the difficult decision but we both needed her support and to be able to ask as many questions as we wanted. Dr Lizete provided us with lots of useful information and gave us a good idea of what to expect in the future as well as giving us many helpful tips on how to best care for Lily on a day to day basis. Our little doggie is happy and comfortable, and we are calm knowing that we are doing the right things. I also feel secure that when things change we can reach out for more support - the peace of mind is wonderful.
What an amazing service, especially during COVID. Our dog was able to leave us in her own bed. Dr Valdmanis was so very kind, patient and compassionate to both us and our dog.
Yesterday we said goodbye to our beloved pet Betty. We were so grateful to have been able to use your services. Dr. Sarah Pechmann was such a comforting soul to all three of us. After a consult reviewing and talking about our pet she reassured us that this was an option if we decided to proceed with the procedure. She took the time to make we were both confident in our decision. I am so happy we said our goodbyes this way this was done in such a peaceful way and would highly recommend this clinic after speaking to friends of the outcome many told me I wish I would of done this for my pet!
I am so grateful to MMVHS and to my vet for telling me about them. I was horrified by the thought of not being there for my beloved rabbit's passing because of the COVID restrictions at my vet office. MMVHS' services gave us both such peace at the end. Lizete was calm and professional and compassionate. If only we could all be so lucky to cross the bridge this way.
The Midtown staff went above and beyond, Lauren and Dr.Watt are incredible - I highly reccomend. Their communication was impressive every step along the journey with our dog. They keep the process smooth and calm, which we really needed during such a difficult time. They gave our family so much support and we are forever grateful.
Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice came to my rescue on a Friday evening just over a month ago. When I got home from work I realized that I had to let my cat, Pishi leave me to be in peace. Her condition got so bad since the morning and I was desperate to find a Vet in a very short notice. I was determined not to let her suffer through the night and since she alway hated going to a clinic I wanted the procedure be done where she felt safest, her home! When I called midtown mobile and I was told that they could accommodate my need it meant the world to me. I am forever thankful to midtown mobile, Barb and Dr Stekel.
I 100% would recommend Midtown Mobile. From the moment I contacted them they were compassionate, caring and made what was the worst day of my life so much easier to bear. Faith Banks did an excellent job of helping us through such a difficult time. She gave us the time we needed to say goodbye and made sure that we were ready for each step before proceeding. Thank you Midtown for being there for us.
An impossible moment for our family was made easier by Midtown Mobile. Thoughtful, caring, patient and professional, they helped us navigate our sweet boys final moments and instead of "putting our dog down" we were left feeling like we gave him a beautiful funeral. I can't say enough great things about this company.
Xena was a very special girl to us. She was found as a stray, took 6 months to trap her and 1 year after that to touch her. Over the past several years, she became a lap cat who loved petting and snuggling. She slept by my side every night for the past 6 years. Because she was such a scared cat, we decided that we would arrange for her passing at home where she felt comfortable. After her rapid decline from a recent lymphoma diagnosis, we were recommended to MMVHS. Dr Stekel was very compassionate and understanding of our grief and how much we loved Xena. Her passing was very gentle and peaceful. Thank you Dr. Stekel for making a very difficult situation easier. Xena will be greatly missed.
Thanks to Dr. Rachel Ellis and MMVHS, my little Chihuahua girl Coco was blessed with the most peaceful end to her life. Coco’s latest bout of autoimmune encephalitis left her in a hopelessly bad state. When I assessed her condition using the MMVHS Quality of Life Scale found on their website, there was no question in my mind that the time had come to say goodbye. In the process of scheduling Dr. Rachel’s visit, I spoke on the phone to Jill and later Joanna, two lovely women who were professional, informative, considerate and kind in every way. From the moment she arrived, Dr. Rachel’s calmness put us at ease. She explained clearly how it would go, thoughtfully answered our questions, and informed us of what was happening every step of the way. She expertly performed everything that needed to be done with great confidence and competence, and at the same time with genuine compassion and gentleness. She then left us to be alone with Coco for as long as we needed to say goodbye privately. This was very important for her littermate Rico, who needed that time to process her death on his own terms. I am so grateful for MMVHS. They were excellent in all respects. This was an extremely helpful service to me.
It's been one week since we had to sadly say goodbye to our elderly cat named Shea. I can't emphasize enough how the experience we had with Dr Lizete from the Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services meant to us. She was so kind, patient, soft-spoken and warm. We even received a card today in the mail and I'm seriously floored by her generosity. We will never forget how supported she made us feel during this difficult time. Thank you for everything <3
We would like to share our experience about Midtown Mobile Veterinary, since we contacted them our experience was great, very kind and professional, we received emotional support since the first call and within the entre process. MMVHS has a great staff, the professional who came to our place to help us with Flopi was kind, patience and explain the process step by step and allowed us to do everything at our pace, what really helped us. Thank you so much.
It was literally one of the hardest decisions our family has ever had to make to let go of Pinto. Early on in Pinto’s cancer diagnosis, we knew that we wanted his passing to be in the place he felt most safe and we sought out home veterinary services. From the initial contact to providing his palliative care, the team at Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services, provided support that was filled with compassion and dignity for Pinto and our family as a whole. We can’t thank the team enough, particularly Dr.Stekel, who carried us through such a difficult time and are beyond grateful that such a service exists. We truly believe Pinto received the best care possible and this knowledge brings us great comfort during the grieving process of our beloved family member.
After 12 wonderful years we had to put our dog to her final resting place. I opted to do the procedure at home where she would be most comfortable on her own bed in the room she always felt secure in. Midtown Mobile was recommended by out Vet and am so glad that I used them. They are so respectful of what your going through and understand you may not be in the right frame of mind. The vet who came to do the procedure Dr. Lizete Valdmanis, DVM was absolutely great. She was kind, caring and respectful of what we were going through. She explained the procedure the whole way and made sure at each step we were ready to continue. Though this was one of the saddest days of our lives Dr. Lizete made it easier for us. I'm so grateful to her and the team at Midtown for being there and giving us an option of where to say our last goodbyes to our family member and in a place where all would be comfortable. DS
My Husband and I are extremely grateful to Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services for the gentle and compassion care they took of our beloved Mastiff, King. Making the decision to end King’s suffering was the most difficult one we have ever had to make. From our initial call to Midtown and conversation with Jane, to the visit by Dr. Stekel to our home to assist our boy on his next journey, the Midtown staff were above and beyond the call of duty in professionalism, kindness and compassion for our situation. We felt that King was in the best hands possible with Dr. Stekel and while it was extremely difficult to let him go, we knew we had made the right choice to ask Midtown to assist us. Midtown followed up several times in the week that followed to check on our well being and sent a lovely card in condolence of our loss. We had elected to have King cremated and have his ashes returned to us. Dr. Stekel let us know the day that the ashes were delivered to our veterinarian, so that we could bring King’s urn home as soon as possible. King’s ashes were encased in a beautiful distinguished urn and velvet bag, that spoke to the quality of service that was provided by Midtown. While I would never wish for anyone to have to bear the pain of losing their fur baby, I would highly recommend Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. They provided excellent care to our beloved King as well as to us, his parents. We were so glad to have Midtown by our side to navigate this difficult time. Sincerely, Kristen and Mark Garrett
Dr Rachel Ellis was great! Very informative, patient, knowledgable and kind. It was everything we could have hoped for our little one. Will use them again if the time ever comes for my other dogs.
5 stars. If you love your pet and want to do the compassionate thing, whether an assessment or putting them to sleep - before they suffer - you can't do better than Midtown Mobile. They go above and beyond to help. I tip my hat to all of the dedicated employees who do this out of love for animals.
Our dear Abby passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family who loved her so much. Thank you Dr. Karen Stekel and the wonderful team at Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Service for ensuring Abby went peacefully and for your compassion and kindness.
I cannot say enough good things about Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services, especially Dr. Sarah Pechmann. She came to visit my elderly, arthritic cat last September and gave her a new lease on life at a time when I was thinking the end was very near. In fact, my cat lived for another five months thanks to Dr. Pechmann, and died very peacefully at home with her kind assistance. Between these first and last visits, Dr. Pechmann was consistently available and supportive, offering practical suggestions and effective medications that gave my cat a better quality of life than I could have ever imagined would be possible as her health declined. I am deeply appreciative of Dr. Pechmann's help and am grateful too for the understanding and responsive attitude from all the staff I dealt with at Midtown Mobile Veterinary. I would warmly recommend this veterinary service to any pet owner whose beloved companion is approaching the end.
Initially, I had a great deal of apprehension making the decision to take my sweet Henny’s life away from her and say a final goodbye. As Henny was declining and I felt there was nothing else I could do for her, I made the difficult decision to let her go. It was the most loving and peaceful goodbye I could have ever imagined, and definitely the right decision. Thank you, Midtown Mobile for all that you do. And thank you Dr. Sarah Pechmann for the kindness and respect you showed us during such a sad time, and the gentleness with which you helped my darling Henny pass away. With much gratitude, Sylvia.
Losing a furry family member is never easy and having to make the decision to transition your pet to a peaceful place is one of the hardest yet compassionate and fair things to do. The team at Midtown Mobile vet were calming, patient and compassionate throughout the entire process from the difficult phone call to book the appointment to the appointment itself where Dr Pechmann stepped us through everything and allowed us as much time as we needed to support ‘Ellie’ to the end. Servicing families who have ageing pets or those in need of palliative care in a mobile setting takes the anxiety away to allow us to humanely care for our beloved animals.
I was absolutely devastated to have to put my beloved cat Gypsy, to sleep yesterday. She had a sudden decline in health and it was a complete shock to us. Dr Stekel was so calm and comforting when I was in distress. I was given great comfort at one of my most vulnerable times. One of the hardest things you have to go through in life. I am especially thankful the last memories my cat had were sitting outside watching the leaves in the breeze, as I wanted to put her to rest outside. You can tell how much they care and how much compassion was shown in my time of need. Even down to receiving a follow up email the next day to reach out and see how we were coping. I hope to not need their services again for a very long time but if/when we do I will not hesitate to call them again. Thank you again, from our whole family .
We knew that our sweet Ringo would be crossing over the rainbow bridge very soon and we wanted it to be as pleasant an experience as something like this could be. We contact MMV and Dr. Sarah was absolutely amazing. She involved the whole family, even our 2 young kids, in the experience and it was so beautiful. Our sweet Ringo took to her right away so he didn't seen to feel any anxiety. What a gentle and loving way for our beloved pup to pass. We will forever be grateful to Dr. Sarah for showing us that this stage of your pets life can be a beautiful time through the heartache.
I am very grateful to have found this wonderful mobile veterinary service. Sadie was our first dog and we had a difficult time saying goodbye though she had lived a very long and happy life. Dr. Sarah Pechman was so understanding and caring in helping us to understand what our much loved Sadie was experiencing as she was reaching the end of her life. She talked with us for an hour to help us decide what to do, and came to our home to provide sensitive and compassionate end of life care. I would highly recommend MMVHS to anyone with a pet nearing the end of their days.
Dr Pechmann could not possibly have shown more compassion and understanding when sending my elderly aunt's cat Jasmine to her eternal rest. If if was possible to give more than 5 stars I would without hesitation.
Thank you to Dr. Stekel and Midtown Mobile for making my sweet cat’s final moments quiet and peaceful. I am very grateful they were able to offer in-home euthanasia despite COVID. Having to say goodbye to my beautiful cat was so hard but Dr. Stekel helped make the process a little easier. In the privacy of my own home, I was able to say goodbye while my cat was comfortable and calm. Thank you for the kindness and compassion you showed me and my pet during this difficult time.
I don't know how they do it. Guided us through an emotionally traumatic event with grace and understanding. Many Thanks Michelle and Jeffrey
We said goodbye to our beloved Golden Retriever Maverick last week. Maverick's comfort and well being during his final moments were paramount to us, and Dr. Amrita Banerjee made that possible. Her outstanding care and compassion allowed for an absolute calm and peaceful experience. We could not have asked for more. She helped soften the blow and allowed him to go to his place of peace with dignity. I highly recommend Midtown Mobile. They are amazing right from the time of booking - to saying our final good bye. I highly recommend.
Barb and Dr. Lizete Valdmanis are both sympathetic, caring, compassionate and understanding of how difficult a situation can be when you are saying good bye to your beloved pet. My partner realized 2 days later that our dog's beloved ball went with her and Dr. Lizete Valdmanis saved the ball and delivered it back to us. This is made our day. With the return of the ball we will be forever grateful. I would highly recommend for anyone who requires their services.
The Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services Clinic provides crucial palliative care services in the comfort of a pet's home. They were there for me during two of the most difficult moments in my life, when I had to say goodbye to my beloved cats. The attending vet, Dr. Karen Stekler provided professional, compassionate, loving and caring services, ensuring my cats were no longer in pain nor suffering. Everything in these most tragic moments of our lives as per owners was handled so well and made it much easier for me to find peace, solace and to start healing. I recommend their services with all my heart! In those awful last days, knowing that you can get excellent support for your loved ones is the solace we all need!
Very helpful thru difficult time.
When we were faced with the decision of putting our beloved 13 year old boxer, Kingston, to rest, Dr. Karen Stekel patiently guided us through the process and options. We chose palliative care at home, until the day arrived that we knew it was time. Dr. Stekel booked an appointment for us that evening. When Dr. Stekel arrived, she took the time to comfort us all, including our children and our 2nd Boxer, Kain, and it was clear that she is very passionate about her work. She confirmed we were making the right decision, which we desperately needed to hear. Dr. Stekel professionally and compassionately helped us through one of the hardest things we have ever done as a family, and we are eternally grateful for the peaceful send off we were able to give our Kingston. The Kessell Family
I had to wait to make this review as the heartbreak is still so raw and too painful. But I have to thank the staff at Midtown and Dr. Sarah. Long story short, we had to abruptly find a vet for our 15 year old furbaby when our vet of 15 years showed no compassion. We understand it’s the pandemic, but it was death we were dealing with, not a procedure I wanted to be present at. Yet our vet told us to simply drop off our baby to be euthanatized by herself, looking for her parents, ALL ALONE. When we said no way our “doctor” left us hanging dry (no follow up, nothing) and basically told us to “google” someone that will help us. Wow.... but everything happens for a reason because thank goodness that happened. Thank goodness we found Midtown and Dr. Sarah. The painful day we had to put our furbaby to sleep will forever be etched in my mind. But Dr. Sarah felt like a good friend who was there to comfort us, most importantly, who was there to take care of our baby. She made sure our furbaby was comfortable, and allowed us to take our time to grieve, to cry, to say our goodbye. Even afterwards, as I watched later on through our Ring recording, Dr. Sarah carefully walked out with our baby. Even though no one was watching, you can see her at times looking down at my baby and seems to almost talk to her and comfort her. Thank you for taking care of us and our baby during the toughest days of our lives. And the follow up, we weren’t just patients to Dr. Sarah. She checked up on us, sent us a beautiful card a week later when I needed it the most. Dr. Sarah and the staff at Midtown are absolutely the best. From the bottom of my broken heart, thank you guys.
I am SOOOO glad my Vet suggested Midtown Mobile. I would NEVER take another family pet out of its home at the end of it's life.Letting go of your best friend can be beautiful, loving and kind. That is what Midtown provided for Sammy and our family. Even Samantha wagged her tail in thanks to our Vet, before she laid down in her bed for the last time. When she did that I knew we had the right person and the loving energy that Sammy so greatly appreciated, and we all needed to feel okay. I would HIGHLY recommend their services.
The staff at MMVHS were immediately available to me during an incredibly stressful and excruciatingly painful time. I could never thank Barb Cook nor Dr. Faith Banks enough for their roles in the gentle and compassionate passing of my lovely friend — as well as in supporting me with warm kindness and understanding around aspects of my grief. By happenstance, MMVHS came into my life at the end of my dog’s own. I was not planning to have home euthanasia. After having the experience with the empathic, intuitive Dr Banks, however, when the time comes, I will chose the humanity of MMVHS again.
Dr. Stekel and the staff at Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services were brought into my life at a very difficult time for my family. They were all respectful, patient and so kind. Dr. Stekel walked us through every moment and explained the procedure thoroughly. I highly recommend at home euthanasia with this veterinary service. My boys last moments were so peaceful and worry free. Thank you for helping my boy pass with dignity in his safe space.
We received excellent and compassionate care when we suddenly had to end our Jade's life. They responded very quickly, which was a great relief as Jade appeared to be very ill and possible in distress. Sarah came to the condo and was wonderful. Cost was very reasonable, I am sure we have paid more for the same service in vets' offices, and doing it at home was far preferable. Thank you to all the staff.
Highly recommend Midtown Mobile for its professional and compassionate service. Dr Stekel was prompt, gentle, and made saying goodbye to our 15-year-old sick cat as peaceful as it could be.
We unfortunately had to put down our amazing King Charles Spaniel -Charlie. We wanted to make the process as humane and comfortable for our little guy. Dr.Sarah made this happen. From the moment she walked in her presence was calm and comforting during this stressful time. If you're also put in this unpleasant situation I highly recommend giving Midtown a call and booking with her. Thank you again Dr. Sarah :)
I am so grateful for the service provided by Midtown Mobile Veterinary. Dr. Rachel Ellis was incredibly kind, compassionate and understanding. She emphasized with our situation and knew just what to say during such a challenging time. We’re so grateful we made the decision to let our Luigi pass at home without the stress of transporting him to a veterinarian office. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
They provided a wonderful experience, at such a devastating time. Loosing a Pet is never easy, we have been through it a few times. Just like a human Pets have feelings, being there for them is the least we can do as owners and Midtown Mobile makes that possible and there approach and professionalism is perfect.
They were there for us and our little guy when we needed them most. Dr. Ellis was very kind and compassionate and let us take the time we needed to say goodbye.
I can't say enough about how grateful we are for the kind and prompt care we received. It became clear to us that our very old and very ill but much-loved cat had reached her final day with us. We were able to get an appointment and within hours Dr. Karen was there. Though it was a heartbreaking experience, we were treated with so much compassion. Casey was able to go peacefully and painlessly in her home and with lots of love. It was really the best ending we could have hoped for. While this service is a bit more expensive than taking your pet into the vet, for us the cost was absolutely worth it and we will never regret it. Thank you to everyone at Midtown Mobile.
MMV provides a much-needed service for anyone who is managing geriatric or end-of-life care for their pet. It's a tortuous time but they make the tough decisions more manageable - with care, wisdom and expertise - so you know in your heart that you're doing the right thing. And, their kind and compassionate approach to you, your family and your pet eases the burden. We were so fortunate to have heard about them when we needed to make tough decisions around our beloved family pet, Dezi.
These guys are amazing. Their compassion at one of the hardest times is so appreciated and I felt supported every step of the way. Candace and Dr. Banks even accommodated a last minute, same day at home euthanasia. It’s the worst decision to have to make but you can trust the team here to help you do what is best. Thank you so much for helping me and taking care of my beloved Pete.
Midtown Mobile is the only choice for the heart wrenching decision to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Our Bengal Tesla left us on July 25, 2020. His departure from this world was painless and gentle because of the caring, kindness, compassion, skill and love shown to him by Dr. Valdmanis. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for creating this vitally important caring service for animal lovers.
There really could not have been a better team to work with during a very difficult time. We were able to get a same-day appointment in our home for our shih-tzu Kiara. Dr. Valdmanis exceeded our expectations. She was very compassionate, patient, respectful, and thorough in answering our questions, as this was a first for us, and she never rushed through the process. Our minds and heart were put at-ease knowing Kiara was in the hands of such a caring and empathetic professional. Thank you to everyone at MMVHS.
I had a perfect experience with Midtown Mobile. It was time to ease the pain for my beloved dog, and Dr. Karen Stekel came to my house to do the euthanasia. Of course it was a heartbreaking experience, but it couldn't have been better for my dog: she was completely at peace, she didn't suffer at all and didn't even get anxious, because everything was done with her comfort in mind. It was done slowly, compassionately and with great care, and my dog was totally comfortable and at ease. The follow-up was wonderful as well. I'm glad that Midtown Mobile was recommended to me: I couldn't have asked for a better way to take care of my dog's last moments.
Our Ollie was diagnosed with a brain tumour just before Christmas. We wanted his last days to be at home in our loving care. Because of Covid, his regular vet was unable to attend his end of life at home so we were told about MMVH. From the very first difficult call to the one where we ended up booking his appointment, the people on the phone were so caring, thoughtful and knowledgable - it took us a few calls before we could work up the courage to book the date - thank you to Barb, Jill and Joanne who walked us through the process. Can't be easy listening to the crying and hurt. On the day, Dr. Valdmanis came to our home. Before she met Ollie, she wanted to know all about him. She was very compassionate and gentle and Ollie went peacefully in our arms. It is never easy to say goodbye to a loved companion, but it is comforting to know services like Midtown Mobile Veterinary exist. I would highly recommend them to anyone who cares about their pets and wishes them to pass peacefully in their own home.
My family had an elderly 14 year old beloved chocolate lab who was no longer enjoying his days and was barely able to get up and move around. We were referred to Midtown Mobile by a friend who used them for their elderly cat. We would have been completely lost if I hadn’t contacted them. Lizete came to our house right away and stayed for a few hours to meet our guy and inform us of how we should handle his last days. She was so empathetic and absolutely able to understand what we were going though, how sad a decision euthanasia would be and what we need to think about. Unfortunately, a few days later we had to say goodbye but Lizete was available by phone and text and she visited the house the next day. Our dog was so happy to see Lizete arrive again at the house and his passing in the backyard with the sun above and birds singing couldn’t have been more fitting. If you are in the tough situation of planning to say goodbye your best friend or family pet and just don’t know where to begin, Midtown Mobile Vets is the place to connect with. Thank you so much for providing this service to pet owners. We are forever grateful for finding you.
Dr. Sarah was kind and compassionate and made a sad situation, comforting and peaceful. We cannot thank you enough for helping us say goodbye to our beloved feline Jughead in the comfort of my arms, and at home
Thank you Midtown Staff and Dr. Watt for your kindness, council, and professionalism through a very difficult time.
Yesterday was a very difficult day for us as we had to say goodbye to our beloved pet Zoe. I contacted Midtown Mobile Vet and was greeted and provided with such detailed information about their services. Dr. Rachel Ellis came to our house to comfort my Zoe and also my family. Dr. Ellis was very professional and was very thoughtful of our feelings. She made the whole process easier for all of us who are grieving the whole process and the eventual loss of our dear pet. Although their service is not cheap, it is very much worthwhile as our Zoe was treated with love and dignity by Dr. Ellis. Thank you.
Dr. Suzanne Gallant is an amazing human. I couldn't imagine letting go of my Shelby in any other way. It's a very painful thing to go through, but she made it as beautiful and loving as possible. I highly recommend their service and if I find myself having to do this again one day I will call her again.
I've used Midtown Mobile Vet twice to put down 2 of my cats after my friend had used them for her own cat and recommended them. I wanted them to be put down at home so that they were in the place they loved and were familiar with. I can't say enough good things about this team. They were very understanding and caring. Everyone from the coordinator taking my information to the outstanding vets were amazing. They were very mindful and respectful and made the last heartbreaking moments of my girls as painless as possible. I will continue to call them for their services for any of my other fur babies. I highly recommend them to anyone who would have to go through the unfortunate process of putting their pets down. Midtown Mobile Vet was outstanding and I thank them for being there for my girls.
It has been a couple weeks of grieving but I am now ready to type out this review. I can’t thank and recommend this company enough. I was referred here by my veterinarian for putting my dog down as I was unable to be in the clinic at time of euthanasia due to covid, and that was not an option for me, I had to be there for my buddy till the last moment. I emailed midtown mobile after hours heartbroken enough looking to make arrangements for the following day, and was going back and forth with Jill till late in the evening where she was very sympathetic and helpful. I knew I came to the right place. The next morning she called me to confirm everything and let me know in details what was going to happen. Later that evening Dr. Kara Wallik came to my house and made one of our darkest days a little more bearable. She was very patient helpful and most definitely cared. She got us through the day knowing we put our trust in the right hands. Thank you midtown mobile
I am so thankful for this amazing team of people. They are truly special. Saying goodbye to our sweet Diego was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I honestly can’t say enough good things about MMVHS. Dr Karen Stekel was so compassionate, so gentle, so honest and professional and so patient. She treated our dog with so much respect and tenderness. She and I placed him on the stretcher and carefully wrapped him in a soft blanket. In spite of the stress involved (Diego was ready; we weren’t) Dr Karen managed to help us say goodbye peacefully and with dignity. Thank you all so much!!! Lissa, Darryl, Treyson James and beloved Diego.
Wish I had been aware of this service with prior pets in my life. My pet, although old and not well for weeks was totally chill through the whole process including purring because the Dr. Ellis was so kind and gentle with her. No strange environment or other pets barking in the background or phones ringing.....just in her favourite place in her favourite bed and no more aches or pains to have to deal with in this life. Even watching from my balcony I saw how gentle and respectful this vet was in how she placed my baby into her vehicle on her departure. Would highly recommend anyone who loves their pet go this route.
I am so grateful this service exists and that they were able to continue through the lockdown. Having to make the decision to euthanize is so difficult and emotional. Dr. Valdmanis made it as easy and peaceful and respectful as possible. I would definitely recommend them as an option when you reach that point with your pet.
When we realized that our 15 1/2 year old cockapoo was in such pain and distress, it was time. Once that excruciating decision was made, we scoured reviews for a vet that made home visits. Based on the reviews, we called Midtown Mobile. Jane made a very positive impression on that first call and within hours Dr. Faith Banks was at our door. I was immediately comforted by her compassion and professionalism. She was extremely patient and gentle with Teddy and with us. He was able to pass peacefully in his own backyard. I feel blessed that Dr. Banks was able to assist at this most difficult time. Our beloved Teddy was treated with kindness and dignity. Many thank to Dr. Banks and the caring professionals at Midtown.
Midtown Mobile Vet Hospice was very caring and professional in helping us say goodbye to our sick 20yr old cat. We can think of no better way to say goodbye to your fur family member but to be in your own home with all the family. It was quiet, comforting and she was not distressed as she was held in loving arms while she left us. While a more expensive than your local vet, if you can afford it, it is the best way to go through a difficult time. Thanks to Dr Karen.
We lost our beloved Teko three weeks ago. Because he was almost 18, and we were seeing some significant changes, we had done some research in preparation and found Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. (The survey provided on their website is very helpful when you are beginning to wonder about quality of life.) To be able to say goodbye at home was so important. We are very grateful to MMVHS and Dr. Rachel Ellis. Rachel was very kind and did everything in such a way that Teko never had to leave my arms. She gave us all the time we needed afterward. MMVHS takes care of everything - the urn was delivered to our vet a couple of weeks later. I'm so grateful that this service exists. It helped alleviate some of the anxiety around a very sad and stressful situation. The cost is, of course, higher than it would be at a typical veterinary office. We found that, for us, the peace of mind was worth every penny.
I was so fortunate to have Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Service recommended to me by a neighbour as my elderly dog was failing . Dr. Ellis visited and was calm kind ,compassionate and empathetic . My dog was able to remain in his favourite bed which was a better experience for both owner and pet than going to the vet clinic . My only regret was not knowing about them sooner for his geriatric care .
A 5 star review does not do MMVHS justice. We required same day euthanasia for our declining cat, and from the moment Joanne answered our call early Saturday morning we knew Sullivan would be in good hands. We were able to have the wonderful Dr. Valdmanis come to our home later that same afternoon. Words cannot begin to describe the compassion Dr. Valdmanis provided for our cat Sullivan at the end of his life. Her calm demeanour and respect for Sullivan and our family at such a difficult time was incredible. In such an emotional time, she provided the most peaceful experience we could have imagined and we are forever grateful. We were able to spend our final moments with Sullivan without feeling rushed, and the legacy work (paw prints, hair clipping) she created for us will serve as a memory of his life going forward. Making the decision to have an animal put down will never be easy, but MMVHS made it more peaceful and bearable.
The kindness, compassion and empathy from everyone was exceptional. They made a horrible experience bearable and we will always thank them for that.
I cannot say enough about MMVHS. When we were faced with the difficult decision of saying goodbye to our beloved pet, MMVHS was incredibly supportive and patient with us and clearly communicated every step of the process. We have two young kids who were part of the experience and they were so wonderful with them, demonstrating tremendous support and empathy every step of the way. I am truly grateful to the vet who visited our home and made this experience as calm and peaceful as possible. If you are faced with the same impossible decision of having to say goodbye to your pet, I highly recommend you reach out to this group.
Losing a cherished pet is one of life’s most traumatic events as it means saying goodbye to a family member. When I had to say goodbye to my 17 year old cat, MMVHS could not have been more caring or supportive. Providing in home service made the process so much easier and natural for me and my ill pet. I have nothing but praise for the work they do.
Visiting the vet had become a deeply traumatizing experience for our ailing cat Felix, especially during COVID when we couldn't be with him. So when he was finally diagnosed with lymphoma, we turned to Midtown Mobile for its euthanasia services. Dr. Alana Watt was wonderful - Felix came down when he heard her voice, nuzzled her and inspected her backpack. Dr. Watt was very gentle, calming and proceeded at our pace, giving the family space to grieve together. Felix had the nicest possible exit and we're very grateful for that. We also appreciate the clay paw print and fur sample in a heart-shaped container she left with us and even the white, plushly lined basket they removed Felix in.
I can't say enough good things about the service we received. Very professional and caring about our dog and the people involved. While it was hard to say goodbye, I take comfort in the peaceful way our dog got to spend his last moments at home with his family.
We had our first experience with MMVHS the past weekend. Our 18 years old cat named Gaulois was starting to get worst. So, we called our veterinarian and unfortunately, they were booked solid. They recommended that we contact MMVHS and see if they would be able to help us. The Saturday morning, I called and left a message. Within 20 minutes we got a call back from Barb. Barb was extremely helpful and extremely compassionate. She helps us through the entire process, explained in very specific details how the procedure will be and arrange for Dr. Wallik been scheduled for an in-house appointment the following day. When Dr. Wallik arrived at our house, we became very emotional. Dr. Wallik was extremely sensitive, kind, and compassionate. She was with us for the entire process and help us with our pain. She did an amazing job putting us at ease despite it was a very stressful day. The procedure was very personal I couldn’t imagine honoring our fur baby in any other way. I would definitely recommend MMVHS and Dr. Wallik to anyone who has to say goodbye to their furry babies.
Dr Pechmann could not been more kind, patient and compassionate. I can’t recommend her enough. Being able to be at home while our dog passed on made such a huge difference for us and for him. Thank you!
After realizing it was time to let my girl go, the thought of having to her to the client was difficult. The clinic and all of the staff are wonderful and kind, but my girl would get stressed about going to see them in the end. Being able to eliminate that stress for her final moments was what I had hoped for. Midtown made a heartbreaking moment so much easier than it could have been. From the first call with Joanne to the visit from Dr. Ellis, their compassion and understanding made the whole process much easier for us.
The best choice we could make when my family and I understood that it is time to say goodbye to our 14 old cat, Junior. It is a very stressful moment for both the pet and the family. We had Dr Lizete Valdmanis coming over to our place. She is amazing. The entire team is compassionate and professional. I recommend them with all my heart
Thank you so very much for your loving care at end of life for Socks.
We recently said goodbye to our beloved baby - little Hamlet at age 17. This was incredibly tough for all of us and especially the kids. He was our beloved and glorious little child and sibling for so many years. This was - without doubt the hardest thing we've ever had to do. Friends had used this practice & spoke so highly of them that we initially booked a one hour consult and via ZOOM, met the incredibly kind and sweet Dr Lizete Valdmanis. She helped us through the thinking process required to make this most tough of decisions - ending a family member's life. What a heavy and difficult responsibility this turned out to be. We postponed our first date and Dr Lizete was sweet and understanding. After we firmed up our resolve and as Hammy was not doing well at all - 10 day or so later, she arrived at our home and demonstrated incredible sensitivity & compassion making Hammy's last hour peaceful and dignified. Saying goodbye at home is the single best thing you can do for your beloved family member and for yourself. All outdoors, in the sunshine with the birds and insects flying around - Hammy's favourite part of the garden. The level of care and empathy displayed by Dr Lizete was so very much appreciated. From the "walking us through" the process to the unhurried and ample time we were given to cradle, love, hug and kiss our baby boy goodbye. We never felt rushed and her guidance and words of comfort were instrumental in making us understand and feel that this was a very special gift and the right decision for our ailing lad. We thank Dr Lizete and the entire team at MMVHS for everything you did for Hamlet and for us - in a terrible time of emotional angst. Bless you all. THE BINDER FAMILY
After a short illness, we knew it was time to let our cat go. Your group sent Dr. Karen Stekel, a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian who came to our home. We appreciated her compassion during Eliot's last few moments. His passing was a lot more peaceful than we had anticipated and went a long way towards ameliorating the memories of the previous weeks and his difficulties. On Eliot's behalf we want to thank both Dr. Stekel and your group. Chris and Len Proctor and of course, Eliot!
From start to finish, our experience with the Midtown Mobile Vet Hospice was outstanding. Kind, compassionate, professional are the words that best describe their approach. Dr. Sarah was empathetic, understanding and so compassionate. I notice the subtleties of her practice -- she actually hid the main part of the needles as she gave them to our dear old Taz so that we could not see them. She gave us time to be with our girl. She gave us time to grieve and mourn through such a very, very hard moment. Even the choosing of the urn and the process for payment were handled discreetly. I can’t be more thankful or impressed with this service. Thank you Midtown Mobile Vet. I will definitely recommend your service to others.
MMVHS was prompt, compassionate and thorough from the very first phone call. Thank you to the staff, and especially Dr. Pechmann, who helped us say goodbye to Annie in complete peace, and with zero regrets. We very much appreciate your services.
This is the third time Midtown Mobile has assisted a pet of mine in passing. Dr Rachel Ellis called me back promptly and was able to come to my home the next day to assist Hannah to pass. MM and Dr Ellis have been nothing but incredible. The amount of care and concern they offer before, during and after is heartfelt and truly sincere. As all pet owners know losing a pet is losing a loved one and a member of your family. I felt truly supported and informed every step of the way and made aware of the whole process. There is no other service that I would trust with the loving, peaceful and supportive approach when it comes to assisting one of my family members end of life. Thank you again Midtown Mobile and Dr Ellis. You helped make this incredibly difficult transition more bearable.
I can't thank Midtown Mobile and Dr. Ellis enough for making my 20-year-old kitty's transition to the great beyond easier. He had no pain or fear and was able to be at home in his familiar environment surrounded by his people as he slipped away. Having to drive him to a vet filled with barking dogs and a waiting room full of people would have been a very different experience; scary and upsetting for him, and quite frankly, more awful for me. Dr. Ellis was a very calming influence on him and he didn't mind her being near him, and this was not a cat who appreciated strangers near him. This was an easy process, with cremation included. I also appreciated that Midtown Mobile does not take advantage of the situation people are in when a pet has to be euthanized. They do not price gouge, and there were no surprises. I highly recommend them.
They are truly amazing people.....so understand and patient. I would highly recommend them
The most compassionate, loving and professional care you can give your pet at the end of their journey. Jett's decline came on quite suddenly and the support of Dr. Banks through this difficult time was invaluable. The staff at MMVHS handled all inquiries very responsively and we felt supported through the entire process. Having Jett pass at home where he was the most comfortable surrounded by his family is what he deserved and what we needed as a family.
I’m so thankful I found Midtown Mobile. They were incredibly kind, professional and easy to work with. It was important for me to be with my cat right to the end and they made that possible and allowed her to stay in the comfort of her home. All of the staff I spoke with and Dr Lisette were so kind and understanding and I so appreciate that they have committed themselves to providing compassionate end of life care.
Dr. Sarah Pechmann did everything humanly possible to help Scratchy cross painlessly. He was a feral who, over many years, gave us his complete trust. With Sarah's help I pray we managed to not break his trust.
Our exuberant boy who battled cancer for a year, suddenly deteriorated over a 24-hour period. When we awoke, he could not walk and his body had ballooned with fluid. We vowed never to allow his suffering. It was time. It was during the snowy weather on January 24, 2022 that we called MMVHS desperate for a same-day appointment and we were so relieved that they could accommodate us. Dr. Alana Watt was a godsend. Tender-hearted, calm, professional, respectful, patient. Through our distress, she guided us, reassured us and gave us precious time to say goodbye. Our dear boy was loudly snoring in his own bed as he took his last breath. It was a good death. Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services is outstanding. We will never forget the benevolence shown to us and the dignity given to Blaze in his final moments.
Midtown Mobile has provided my beloved German Shepard- Timber, who had terminal cancer ,with the gift to head to the rainbow bridge peacefully in the comfort of his own home with his family. The compassion of all the staff that I’ve communicated with ( Jill and Barb)is definitely what you need when making this decision. Dr Alana was very kind, and made Timber’s passing peaceful. I’m so thankful that there is such a service.
Can’t say enough about the quality of service and professionalism of the vet (Amrita Banerjee) who came to our house in this very difficult time. Our boy was quite large and a trip to the vet was additional stress he just didn’t need. Dr.Banerjee was absolutely amazing; her patience, empathy and support provided both to our old boy and our family was amazing. This was a very sad situation and MMVH made it much more bearable..I know our Luke was much happier and more comfortable to be in “his spot” surrounded by his pack. I would highly recommend MMVH for anyone who has to go through this painful time. Thank you again Dr. Banerjee for your amazing support.
When the time had come to say goodbye to our 16 year old cat Molly, we contacted MMVHS. Dr. Sarah Pechmann was so kind and compassionate, taking lots of time to explain the procedure. It was so comforting to be with Molly as she passed while resting in her favourite spot on our sofa. Our other 2 cats were also able to say goodbye, something that couldn't have happened if we had taken her to a clinic. The office staff are also to be commended on their kindness. Communication was excellent. We highly recommend this service.
This clinic was amazing at the most difficult time for us. Dr. K. Stekel was so compassionate, supportive and respectful of our pain and gave dignity to our little boy as he crossed over. Our pain is unbearable but the clinic and the doctor have been so supportive. Thank you again for all you did for Buddy and for us!
Due to COVID restrictions I was unable to bring Plucky Lucky to her normal vet to say our goodbye to our beloved rescue cat Plucky Lucky who we owned for over ten years. However, my vet then recommended that I consider Midtown Mobile as an option as Plucky Lucky would be at home and where she could have a tranquil and loving ending. Plus, she would avoid the stress of driving in the car to another veterinary clinic and be beside her loving parents and best buddies Indigo and Buttons. We are very grateful that we used Midtown Mobile as they provided the emotional support that we needed that day. Dr. Sarah Pechmann came to our house and was very sympathetic towards our needs and reconfirmed this was the right decision. Also, they do reach out to you afterwards to see how you are faring and provide you with additional resources to read to help you thru the process. We have also decided that in the future to use Midtown Mobile for all our other pets (which hopefully won’t be for a very long time) as we are very pleased with their level of service.
I lost my dear sweet 12 year old cat Camp in my home. I had no idea where to even start who to call. I was suggested Midtown Mobile and I am soooooooo thankful! Joanne was so helpful over the phone giving me all the information I needed and was so kind and caring. Dr Lizete was amazing with Camp, I have no words to describe how comforting she was in this tragic situation. Their kindness goes beyond your appointment sending emails keeping you in the loop and are available if you need them. Though the loss of Camp saddens me to the core I am comforted by the fact she is in such loving, gentle hands. I will never stop being thankful for their services.
About a month ago now, I had to make the hardest decison to put my boy Stormy down. He had diabetes and dementia, I struggled so hard with whether I was making the right decision and I need to tell you Midtown and the vet that came out, Sarah Pechmann, made the experience as positive as it could be. I was so back and forth about when I wanted to do it and if I wanted to do it. I sent multiple emails and they were so patient and understanding. When it came to the day, Sarah came and she was so calm and understanding, she said all the things I needed to hear and she really meant them. I left that experience heartbroken but at peace with my decision and I never expected to feel that. On top of everything they made a monetary donation to OVC pet trust in his name. Im sorry for the long write up but they are honestly the best and if anyone is considering this then please contact them. It was worth every penny and I will always use them in the future. Thank you again Midtown and especially Sarah, I cannot express how amazing you all are and I am forever grateful.
Dr. Valdmanis was so kind, empathetic and thoroughly explained everything that was going to occur. We are so grateful our Ginger had such a peaceful passing at home, in the comfort of familiar surroundings. We would highly recommend this service.
Everyone at Midtown Mobile helped me make the hardest decision I've ever made. They shared their stories and provided so much comfort. I can't thank them enough for their help and guidance. I am so grateful for the support of Dr. Lizete Valdmanis on the day of; she is so kind and compassionate.
Thoughtful and respectful experience. Karen Stekel was so kind and helpful in helping us with such a difficult experience in our lives. She continues to follow up with us to check in on how we and our other pets are doing. We are very grateful for her (and the teams') help though a tough decision for our pet.
I can't speak highly enough about the compassionate service provided by Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. There is never a good time to say goodbye to a beloved pet, and this was certainly the case with our dog of almost 16 years. Dr. Sarah Pechmann is such a wonderful and talented doctor, and a role model. She walked us through each stage of the process with compassion and clarity. She comforted our family throughout. And she followed up to see how we were coping with this loss. We are so fortunate to have this service in our community. We are grateful that our pet was at home in warm and familiar surroundings when she passed, surrounded by those who loved her.
When the time finally came for us to make the terribly sad and difficult decision to help our kitty pass on peacefully, we contacted Midtown Mobile for help. Our kitty hated going in her carrier, driving in the car and going to the vet and we knew we did not want her last few moments to be full of stress and anxiety. Midtown Mobile was very kind and professional from the moment we contacted them. Dr Sarah arrived at our home and was extremely kind, calm and caring. She listened while we gave the medical history of our cat and we explained what had occurred in the last few days. She helped us to understand that while this was a horribly difficult decision to make, that it was the right one at the right time. She was patient and kind as we said our goodbyes and she helped to guide us through the process. At the end she gave us a clay paw print taken from our cat and a small piece of our cat’s fur that was placed in a heart shaped box. I initially didn’t think I would want these items but now I’m grateful for these small memories. She also left some brochures on pet euthanasia that we found very helpful in helping to work out our feelings of sadness and guilt. We can’t thank Dr Sarah enough for the kindness she showed to our family during this very sad time. If you are ever in need of this veterinary care, I would without hesitation recommend Midtown Mobile.
Calling Midtown Mobile will never be an easy choice, but I am so glad my vet recommended them for at home care. Dr Rachel Ellis was exceptional, truly compassionate and kind. She made the whole terrible experience of putting my sick cat to sleep calm and peaceful. I was truly touched by all that her and her team provided to me in my challenging time. I can't recommend them more highly.
Whatever experience you need to have or words you need to hear, it will happen with these guys. We had Dr. Sarah and she was amazing. They are hospice and end of life specialists. A truly perfect experience.
I just can't say enough great things about our experience with Midtown Mobile Vet and Dr Rachel Ellis. We had to make the sad decision for our best guy "Tyson" after almost 18 years. We wanted to give him the most peaceful passing we could. We did our research to find an alternate option of finding a way that would be much more peaceful and comfortable for him. I found many positive reviews about Midtown Mobile. From the first communication, each step was explained with such care and compassion. On May 14/19, Dr Ellis came to the house and from that moment, she stepped in the door she showed such calmness and compassionate for not only Tyson, but us as well. I honestly just cannot say enough about the whole experience. To anyone who is maybe looking at in home euthanasia, or just a mobile vet, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Dr Ellis Laurie
I cannot say enough about the amazingly beautiful experience we had in saying goodbye to our cherished companion. Dr. Rachel Ellis was compassionate, knowledgeable and beyond exceeded our expectations at what an at-home euthanasia would be like. We are forever grateful to her for making such a difficult time more manageable as our sweet boy Elvis knew he was in good hands as soon as they met. ❤️????
We had to put our beloved cat down and called this company. I can't say enough about how kind and helpful they were. The person on the phone helped me through the process with empathy. On the day, the vet was caring and patient while the whole family said their goodbyes. We were able to be there with our pet. The vet gave us a momento of her paw print and fur. I highly recommend this option if you need to compassionately take care of your companion pet. Thank you Barb and Lizete
Last month we had to put two of our cats down, on separate occasions and asked midtown mobile to come to our house to assist us. Dr. Sarah Pechmann and Dr. Karen Stekel were sent to help us. Both of these doctors were understanding, compassionate and respectful. They walked us through the entire process and took our cats away in a basket so that they looked as thought they were peacefully asleep. They followed up to see how we were doing and left us with literature to help with the grieving process. I highly recommend this company because they will come to your home, even during the pandemic. During both visits I felt that my cats were in good hands during those final moments.
I cannot say enough about Midtown Mobile Vet. Letting my pet go is one the hardest thing I had to do. I wanted my old girl to be comfortable when the time came and although she loved her regular vet, it always stressed her out so much to go to the office. Instead, she got to take her last breath in her favourite room with her favorite people round her. Dr. Banerjee was absolutely wonderful and so calming. She explained every steps and each movement my dog was making and sounds she was doing. It turned into a really beautiful (although very sad) moment. Thank you Midtown Mobile Vet - you truly care.
Midtown Mobile Veterinary Service is exceptional!!! We had to put our precious Golden Retriever, Maximilian to sleep. He was 15 yrs, 4 months old. He was very sick & we knew we had to say good-bye...the final act of love we could give him. We wanted him to take his last breath at home surrounded by his family & his little brother Cooper. We called Midtown to make arrangements. They sent us Amrita. She was extraordinary!!! The process was explained to us before she began. Amrita was just who we needed. She was professional, kind, patient & compassionate. Nothing was rushed & she let us have the time we needed as we cried, kissed Max & felt sick with emotions. I would highly recommend this service to anyone. Amrita has checked in on us a few times since then to see how we are doing. Max went to sleep 16 days ago. We continue to grieve & will for a long time. Thank you for being there
My family and I had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our beloved Edgar. We did not want his last living memory to be at the veterinary office (that was simply not an option) ... like many dogs, he HATED going to the vet. Enter: MMVHS. Dr. Amrita Banerjee was wonderful: having to say goodbye is a heartbreaking, painful and difficult process, but she made it a little less terrible. She explained the entire process with great compassion and professionalism, constantly checking in with us and allowing us to take the time we needed. She also made sure to introduce herself to Edgar as soon as she arrived, and made him feel comfortable too. Eddie passed peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. I would also like to mention that the entire team at MMVHS has been so deeply compassionate throughout the entire process, from the initial phone inquiry through to the end.
Six weeks ago our family made the hardest decision we've ever had to make, saying goodbye to our beloved 14 yr old Whippet Marcus. Although we deeply miss Marcus' daily presence, euthanizing Marcus in our backyard surrounded by the family and his whippet brother Sydney was a peaceful experience. We are very grateful for Dr Lizete Valdmanis and her patience and calm compassion during this time. The service from the entire team from beginning to end was very response, thoughtful & kind. - Peter
Our sweet chocolate lab started to decline over the Christmas holidays. I reached out to Midtown Mobile Vet on Boxing Day to make arrangements to have him put to sleep. Everyone I had contact with at MMVH were incredibly kind, compassionate and patient. Dr. Ellis came to our home a couple of days later. She was so gentle and kind in her approach, both to our dog and to our family as we each dealt with our grief in our own ways. She explained everything she would be doing and then stepped us through it again at each stage by explaining what to expect and how our dog would be feeling/perceiving what was happening. Everyone at MMVH has been so supportive, even after his passing. I would highly recommend allowing your pet to pass at home, if you can and would not hesitate to recommend MMVH to help you at this very difficult time. It was so peaceful and it gave me comfort to know that our dog passed surrounded by his people in his own home.
Dr. Stekel was warm and compassionate during the hardest day of our lives. She ensured us that we were making the right decision for our dog and our family. She gave us the time we needed and explained everything as it was happening. I cannot recommend her enough.
Dr. Valdmanis was extraordinary. Compassionate with all of us, effective with Ginger and, I have to say, we could not have asked for -- and never expected -- such tender care. If there were a rating higher, I would give it.
Dr Stekel and team are extremely compassionate and professional. Every detail is explained with patience and love. Their service is worth every penny and I will never doubt of using their services again for my loved pets. Thank you for the kindness and patience with this painful process.
Dr Rachel Elilis came to our house to help us to let go of our beautiful and big personality dog, Roxy. Even though she was 16 years old and they told us four years ago that she had weeks to live, it did not make the decision any easier. The whole passing was dealt with compassion and gentleness. Roxy always was nervous seeing a vet, but she was very calm when she saw Dr Ellis. Roxy’s passing was very peaceful, surrounded by her family, her sister, and in her own home.
We had to put our loving Xena down last week and had no way of getting her to her regular Vet.We were recommended to call Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. I'm so glad I did as they were just wonderful from the first call to when Dr.Sarah Pechmann came to save Xena from her suffering. She was so empathetic ,so professional, it was like Xena was her dog. Thank you Dr.Pechmann for everything I will always remember your kindness and loving nature for Xena.
Thank you for providing this service. Your kindness and compassion are deeply appreciated.
Dr. Amrita was amazing! She was so kind, explained everything in a very gentle way and walked me and my partner through the whole process. My cat Poppy was not afraid or in pain at all throughout the whole process. As a health care worker who has personally worked in hospice/palliative settings for humans I was very impressed. As long as I have the financial resources available to me I will from now on use Midtown Mobile for my other pets when the time comes.
Almost 2 months ago, it was time to say goodbye to Cheeky, my orange tabby companion of nearly 17 years. Cheeky disliked travel and I wanted his last moments to be as stressless as possible. Midtown Mobile was an absolute gift, Dr. Stekell was kind and compassionate and very supportive throughout the whole process. This is the ultimate kindness you can offer your pet.
This is the second time we have had to use the services of Midtown Mobile Veterinary Services. I would highly recommend them. Doctor Rachel Ellis made it both times a bit easier with her compassion and kindness.
Recently, I was put through the gut wrenching reality of having to let my much beloved TimBit pass. We had lost cats previously, and went through both euthanasia at the vet’s office and a mobile vet service. The home setting was ideal for the comfort of my cat, and it felt best to let him pass without the fear of unfamiliar surroundings. The mobile vet service was more peaceful for our cat and myself, so I reached out to Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services, MMVHS. They were very accommodating by making an appointment for the next day. When Dr. Wallik arrived, she was very professional, and explained what she would be doing step by step. She was understanding of our need to grieve, and gave us time to grieve between steps, never rushing us. She gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. She even gave TimBit’s brother the opportunity to say goodbye as well. Through such a gruelling ordeal, Dr. Wallik left us with both a sense of closure, and peace. We had used another Mobile Vet previously, but had not received such comforting and empathetic experience. I thoroughly recommend” Midtown Mobile Vet Hospice Service”. I will still have pets in my life, will call them again if the need arises, but hopefully not soon.
I don't have the words for something like this, my heart will be eternally broken. I just wanted to take some time to thank the team at Midtown especially the wonderful women who coordinated with us and Dr. Stekel who brought peace to my soulmate in his final time. I'll never be whole again.
Having a vet come to my home was less stressful for my cat Gianni and for me. Dr. Jaren was gentle and caring. I have already recommended this service to friends who have senior pets. Thank you. Daniela L.
I was so impressed with the way MMVHS completely focused on putting my companion animal to rest. All the paperwork and payment was done over the phone before they came so all I had to worry about was my sweet pet. I have been present when other animals lives were ending and by far this was the most calm experience for both of us. If only I has known about MMVHS before. I really could feel that they cared and that made such a difference. I recommend MMVHS fully. Dr Stekel was the best.
There is nothing worse than making the decision to say goodbye to something you love so much. After a short battle with cancer, I knew my time was coming to an end with my rabbit, Remy Le Beau. I was determined to have his last moments be in his home, alongside his bunny wife and myself. I reached out to a friend who had recently put down her dog and she recommended MidTown and I’m glad she did. Dr. Ellis was professional, kind and compassionate. Barb and the office staff were so incredibly kind to me during what I can arguably say was the worst week of my life. They simplified and outlined the process for me, ensured all the logistics were completed prior and maintained a level of sensitivity that was so incredibly delicate. If you are tasked with the unfortunate decision of your pet’s last moments, I cannot recommend this team enough. I’m sorry you are going through this - but we owe it to them to have their last moments be safe, kind, warm and painless. This team helped me actualize this and I thank them for it.
We wanted our beloved cocker spaniel to be as comfortable and calm as possible during her passing. Although we are heart broken with her loss, with are deeply comforted knowing that we were able to provide that for her thanks to midtown mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. Dr. Lizete Valdmanis was so professional, very calm, sympathetic, kind and had the gentlest of touches - our little dog really just went to sleep. Highly recommended to anyone going through such a difficult time.
You made an impossibly difficult day the best it could be with your professionalism, empathy and compassion. We weren't sure what to expect, but we are grateful for all of the many things that you did to provide our cat Molly and the two of us comfort: 'The little basket and our last image of her resting there under a cuddly blanket, as if she were taking one of her much-loved naps. 'Letting her stay right where she was resting for the procedure. 'Answering all of our questions. 'Explaining every step of the process. 'Asking us if we were ready. 'Giving our other pet Charlie a chance to discover what was happening in his world. We are comforted by the fact that we were in a position to make the decision to stop her suffering and appreciated your reassurance that our decision was a reasonable one given the progression of her illness. She was able to leave this world as gently as she lived in it while not having to leave her home. Finally, thank you for your donation to OVC Pet Trust in Molly's memory.
The Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice were amazing all around . After a trip to the emergency vet , we found out my dog was dying and need to be put down. I called them first thing in the morning and we got an appointment that day. After picking a later appointment time , I later realized my dog wasn’t doing good and I needed them to come sooner . I called them back and they accommodated my request without hesitation. We had Dr. Rachel Ellis, and she was so compassionate and reassuring during the whole process . My dog got to pass at home surrounded by love , his blankies and favourite stuffed animals . I highly recommend this service if you need to put your animal companion to rest .
While searching for a mobile vet to come to our home to help our beloved Snoopy pass in familiar surroundings, I am so glad my first call (other than our regular vet), went to Midtown. Their kindness, professionalism and compassion was appreciated more than what I can put into words. Dr. Sarah Pechmann was so very gentle, caring and respectful to Snoopy and us. The specialized service they provide cannot be easy but it is so very much appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
If you are reading this review you are probably making the very difficult decision to help your fur baby move to the next stage because of the suffering they are enduring. Our Maxie was almost 17. With multiple health issues. But the end happened very quickly. After a week in and out of the vets office our girl stopped eating and drinking…and it became her time. MMVH was able to schedule an evening appt. We said goodbye to Maxie as a family as she lay in her favorite spot by the window. Dr. Stekel went at our pace. It was hard. But made easier with her understanding and knowing we were with our girl together at home.
I was so relieved to learn that a vet could visit us in our yard, which Ollie loved, for his final farewell. We enjoyed a good day together outside. Dr. Wallik arrived in the late afternoon as planned. She could not have been kinder. In fact everyone involved at Midtown was warm, understanding and professional. It was a really tough day, but Dr. Wallik helped us and Ollie through it. It was dignified and peaceful. Many thanks.
Midtown Mobile was wonderful to work with in this difficult time. Compassionate, professional care. I would highly recommend them.
Dr. Lizete Valdmanis was so compassionate and professional during the last moments with our 18 year old cat. I was so impressed with the service provided and incredibly grateful for Lizete and Midtown Mobile Veterinarians in-house service. It meant that our sweet, old cat didn't need to leave the comfort of her own home during this time. So much gratitude! ♡ Ashley
The day Dr. Sarah Pechmann from MMVHS came into my life was the best day ever for me and for my beloved pet cat Blackie. Dr. Pechmann brought peace and tranquility to what had become an extremely stressful situation. The Vet wanted to me to bring my 20 year old cat to the hospital for a blood draw before renewing medications and I knew I just couldn't get him in a carrier anymore - not without serious injury to him or me. A friend told me about MMVHS and I contacted them and that was the beginning of a whole new life. Everyone at MMVHS was professional and caring - Dr. Pechmann coordinated with the hospital vet to get the medications I needed and provided advice, guidance and non-stop comfort by Zoom and email until the time had come to put my boy to rest on January 31st. She was so thoughtful, understanding, patient with my indecision, and reassuring when the decision was finally made,, providing comfort to the end and days following. I had been through the hospital experience and couldn't imagine another trip home with an empty carrier after an awkward end with dogs barking in the background ... then trying to leave through a waiting room, pretending that nothing had happened. Instead I was at home in my recliner with my cat in my lap for one final cuddle...a cherished memory I will always have. Most importantly, before I met Dr. Pechmann and MMVHS I was adamant that I would never adopt again because I couldn't face another loss. After my experience with Blackie and Dr. Pechmann, I may not hesitate should another furry lost soul in need find their way into my life. Thank you Dr. Pechmann and your team!
My experience with Midtown Mobile was really the best that it could be. They made this very tough decision a tad easier on our hearts. From the initial phone call to the final moments, it was the best service. They are very understanding and caring. I decided to set up for my dog, Richie, to be euthanized at home and it was scheduled to be done by Dr. Lizette Valdmanis and I am so glad it was her! Lizette was very calm and so considerate of giving us space and lots of time during the whole process. I called Midtown Mobile at about 12pm and set up the visit for 4:30pm. We had hours to cuddle him, take him on his last wagon ride (he couldn't stand) and give him some delicious steak. When it came closer to 4:30pm, I settled down on the couch with Richie boy and he rested on my lap as we watched a movie, as usual. Everyone he loved was in the room. Lizette had a very calm and positive vibe and Richie actually barely even noticed her, which made it a lot easier because he wasn't stressed at all and could only see and feel me. When she arrived, Lizette gave her condolences and explained the process to us. Richie remained relaxed on my lap. She first gave him the injections to relax him into a deep sleep. He fell asleep right in my lap. She gave us all the time we needed before and after the final injection. She also cut some of Richie's beautiful Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu fur for us to keep and then gently pressed his paw into the clay to make 2 imprints for us. When we were ready, Richie was placed into a comfy little basket with a blanket and some of his favourite cookies and I carried him out to her car. It was honestly the best way to say goodbye to my baby. It was quiet and peaceful and he was happy as always to be with mommy. It was how he deserved to go. I'm glad I found Midtown Mobile and I wish I knew about them sooner. I will never forget my experience that day. I will most likely use Midtown Mobile again when the time comes for any of my fur babies. They make saying goodbye a little easier, because you know it's the best way possible.
We are so grateful for the care and support of Midtown Mobile Veterinary today and from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you! Dr. Sarah Pechmann was amazing! I cant express how grateful we are for her kind support of our pup today. She truly made the end of our dogs life a loving and caring experience. The whole team at Midtown, from the first phone call, show care and support at such a difficult time. You guys are truly amazing!!!
In April 2018 we were faced with a very difficult situation. Our dog, Penny, suddenly became very ill and we made the decision to euthanize her after visiting our regular vet on a Saturday afternoon. Our vet recommended we call Midtown Mobile as her health was worsening quickly. Barb Cook returned my call right away and made me feel like we made the right decision after she asked questions about Penny and thoroughly explained the procedure. She was then in contact via text and email until Dr Karen Stekel came to our home for Penny’s last appointment. She was so kind and caring and did not make us feel rushed. She also asked questions about Penny and reassured us that we made the right decision and that she would no longer be suffering. She also explained the procedure and thoughtfully answered our questions. When we were ready Dr Stekel administered the medications and Penny passed away peacefully on her favourite couch. We were so grateful for Barb and Karen’s kindness, compassion and patience - they are true angels. We recommend Midtown Mobile’s services to all Toronto pet owners.
I would highly recommend them. From start to finish they showed genuine compassion and understanding. The booking was seamless and easy to understand. It isn’t just that they provided a professional service- which they did- each step showed they truly understood the heartbreak and devastation this causes a pet owner and tried to make it as easy as possible. From the lovely woman I spoke to when booking, the generous cancellation policy, to the vet Karen who guided me through the process and allowed my Molly to die in peace and with dignity with me able to cuddle with her the whole time.
We wish to extend our gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Rachel Ellis and all the staff of Midtown Mobile for their compassionate and thoughtful support and kindness through this difficult time of our Jojo’s passing. Jojo was a very much loved member of our family and Dr. Ellis’ thoughtful, calm and warm demeanour created a supportive and meaningful space for our family to let go of a loved one. From the moment we contacted Midtown Mobile Veterinary Services, the experience was outstanding from the very first contact, a particularly important aspect of a service to those already in great distress and sadness. The service encompasses a balance of compassion, understanding, provision of information, and responsiveness. Myself and my family would highly recommend Midtown Mobile Veterinary Services and Dr. Rachel Ellis’ compassionate services. Thank you!
Dr. Sarah Pechmann cared for our sweet Tortie girl (and for us) so deeply and wholly during our incredibly difficult time of grief and pain. She was so comforting, reassuring, kind, a good listener, and a dear friend to animals and people alike. We felt we had known her for years and our soulmate must have felt that too because she took to Sarah immediately when she arrived. Harley loved people. Dr. P communicated so efficiently about how the whole process worked and helped us offer a peaceful farewell to our very best girl on a beautiful sunny morning on our back patio. She went out of her way to help us when I needed something the next day as well. The admin portion of all of this was very easy and the staff were compassionate; communication was clear and caring. If you ever have to get compassionate end of life care for your animal friend it is worth every single cent. Call the grief hotline they offer. This part, being here without her 2 and a half months later is the hardest part.
Excellent service - even though it's terrible when you need them Dr Sarah Pechmann is one of the most wonderful vets I have ever met She made the whole experience so much easier
They were kind, patient and so respectful of my last few min with my precious dog. They gave my sweet Kiwi the quiet and peaceful in home passing she deserved. Very grateful for their services.
Last Sunday I realized that my sweet 19 year old kitty, Norman, was ready to cross over to his next life after a week of sudden declining health. I called MMVHS early on Sunday morning and spoke with Jill who said although there weren’t any available appointments that day, she will message the vets and call me back in 20 minutes to let me know if someone could come to assist. She called back to let me know that Dr. Karen Stekel would be more than happy to come to my home that evening. Jill was thorough and caring while she explained what would happen at the appointment and let me know how sorry she was for what I am going through. Dr. Stekel called to let me know she was a little early and asked if I needed a bit more time with Norman. When she arrived and conducted herself in such a calm and caring manner, I knew that Norman was in good hands. She assured me that given his state I was making the most humane decision, and quietly explained the process to bring Norman’s struggling to an end. Norman passed peacefully on my lap at home. Dr. Stekel followed up with an email the next morning to see how I was doing, and offered some resources that could help me through this difficult time. I can’t say enough about how caring and comforting she was, and how grateful I am that she facilitated a peaceful passing for my beloved Norman. MMVHS is a group of very special people, and I am so glad they were there at this very difficult time.
While it is a very sad time in our lives, having lost our dear beagle, we were treated from our first interaction with Midtown Mobile Veterinary with professionalism and compassion. Everything was done respectfully and exactly as described. Dr. Rachel Ellis came to our home and couldn't have been more kind to us and our pets. We so appreciate her and the other people we dealt with so much. We will be recommending them to others in this difficult situation.
We made use of the service offered by MMVHS recently and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Service, compassion and responsiveness were excellent from the first call until well after we had to say goodbye to a beloved companion of 14 years. This is never an easy time but I am comfortable that, with this expert assistance, we provided a peaceful and dignified send-off to Pearl. This has definitely eased the loss - thank you.
Saying goodbye to my beloved mini schnauzer Poppy was the hardest thing I've ever had to do - making the decision to end a family member's life is an excruciating responsibility. Dr. Ellis made Poppy's last hour a peaceful one, and I'm so glad we made the decision to say goodbye at home. Dr. Ellis was incredibly caring and empathetic. She walked us through the process and gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. While no time would have felt 'right' to say goodbye, her comforting words and guidance made us feel better that we were doing what was best for Poppy. Thank-you! Heather & Derek
The service provided was beyond anything we could have hoped for. While is was a hard and difficult decision, MMVHS and their staff certainly made it certainly as peaceful as possible. The tenderness and compassion shown by Dr. Ellis both to us and more importantly Riley was exemplary. Riley passed at peace and at ease in the place he was most happy. I will most certainly recommend their services to anyone I know having to make these difficult choices
I can not speak more highly of the staff at this clinic they went above and beyond for me and my pup I will recommend and use them for all future pets
Our beloved lab Cody passed few days ago with the help of Dr. Karen. Surrounded by family and in the most peaceful manner. We really appreciate being coached through the process with no stress to us or to Cody I would recommend this service to anyone who had to make this difficult decision
The entire team could not have been more supportive. They made one of the worst days so much better. I cannot recommend them enough. Sadly all dogs go to heaven and when the day comes for your best friend to go , you want MMVS in your home. Thank you. Mike , Kir and Floyd.
Passionate, patient, caring loving amazing vets. Thank you so much ????
It's hard to put into words how much Midtown Mobile supported us during one of the most difficult times in our lives. A cancer diagnosis surprised us all, and we made the extremely tough decision to put down our beloved cat. We knew we wanted him to pass at home so we contacted Midtown Mobile on the recommendation of our vet. Dr. Karen Stekel was so gentle and caring with both us and our cat and stayed with us until we were ready to say goodbye. I dont think I've ever cried that openly in front of anyone other than my husband, and she was wonderful at helping me stay calm and reminding me of the things I needed to hear when I was too vulnerable to be able to remind myself. She treated our angel so kindly and with so much love and for that I will be forever grateful. Not only that, she also connected with us the following day to let us know she was thinking of us and to see how we were holding up. The clinic also mailed us a sympathy card and left us with information on handling grief, which was a huge help to us. I am not sure how there are people out there who have it in their hearts to do this for others, but I am so glad there are. Thank you Midtown Mobile for your help and continued support in saying goodbye to our dear and beloved family member. You made an impossible task a little more tolerable and helped us to make this very difficult transition in our lives.
Dr. Lizete V was really wonderful when she came to my house to help me through the process of putting my cat down. She saw how upset I was and was really patient and kind. She has a very calming voice, a caring demeanour and was really empathetic through the whole process, letting me grieve while it all happened. I would trust her again to walk me through my last moments with my pet. You can tell she understood the bond that pets have with us and how important they are in our hearts and lives. I felt safe leaving my cat with her after she had passed, and she even followed up after to make sure I was okay. She made the process as peaceful as possible, and I thank her so much for that.
I highly recommend MMVHS. We recently had to put our beloved 15 year old dog to sleep. Dr. Ellis was caring, informative, calm and respectful at a very difficult time. Our dog's passing was so peaceful and full of love and we were so relieved to be able to have her pass at home with her family in her own bed. The whole team at MMVHS was so sensitive at this difficult time. They walked us through everything. The grief resources they provided were much appreciated and the follow up communication was excellent. If I ever had to go through this again, I would call MMVHS.
It is always difficult saying goodbye to a loved one. Dr. Ellis demonstrated kindness and compassion that made this sad experience bearable. She took the time to talk ti us and answer our questions. We were a real mess but she made us feel like we were heard and listened to. She gave Ninja dignity in her passing and gave us comfort knowing we did the right thing.
As heartbreaking as it was to need this service; the support that we received from Dr. Sarah and her entire team was exceptional. They were compassionate, understanding and helpful and always available to us. They made this painful time and process much easier by providing many resources and were always available for our many questions and concerns. Thank you to the team for everything you have done for our family.
We contacted MMVHS in April when our boy started to show a sharp decline. From that moment on Dr. Pechmann provided support and counsel until we made the decision to say goodbye to our Dexter Jul 25th. He crossed over the rainbow bridge at home, with dignity and comfort in his favourite spot. Highly recommend there services.
We contacted Midtown Mobile when our cat, Olivia, was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease at age 19. Dr. Sarah listened to our concerns, gave Olivia a basic checkup, and observed her in action before helping us develop a plan for preserving Olivia's quality of life for as long as possible. I can't over-emphasize how much Dr. Sarah's care and compassion enabled Olivia to have nearly two more years of a good life. Sarah truly was a partner in palliative care. She responded quickly to any questions we had, and was a calm sounding board. She got to know Olivia's quirks and our care-giving style -- and factored those into her guidance as health circumstances changed. When Olivia's positive spirit could no longer override what was happening to her body, Dr. Sarah's kindness, compassion, and professionalism at every step was beyond comforting. Having made "that trip" to the vet several times in my life with other beloved pets, saying goodbye at home was a new experience. Now, I can't imagine spending final moments with a furry loved one any other way. We were heartbroken to lose Olivia from our lives, but it eased some of the sorrow to know she passed in true peace and comfort. And, the remarkable care and service of Dr. Sarah and the team at Midtown Mobile didn't stop there. Their simple yet meaningful condolences and support continued in the weeks that followed, which helped our grieving process. It's clear that Midtown Mobile has respect and compassion for pets and the humans who love them.
Thank you Midtown Mobile Veterinary and especially Amrita for making a difficult event bearable. Amrita, we want to thank you for being so kind, calm, and gentle. You really made our last moments with Chip as best as they could possibly be, and we're grateful for how you helped him to pass so gently and peacefully.
When the time came this week to say goodbye to our beloved Toby cat, we wanted him to be at home where he could have a loving and peaceful ending. We are so grateful that Midtown Mobile could provide exactly the support we needed. Everyone I spoke to at MM was genuinely sympathetic and responsive. Dr. Rachel Ellis came to our house and she was perfect. She gave us just the right amount of information, answered our questions, talked to us about our options, gave us suggestions, and helped us decide about Toby's burial. She showed us and Toby great care, compassion, and patience. Nothing was rushed. Midtown Mobile provides a wonderful service delivered by caring and compassionate professionals.
