Today, I brought my cat for her first visit to DDAH. We previously went to a different clinic but decided to try out this place since it is a lot closer to home. As it turns out, it was probably the best decision I've made and only wished I had done so sooner! Or that they opened at that location a lot sooner! I was greeted by friendly and courteous staff who asked me to fill out an application form. are about to move to a different province and so I wanted to bring my cat to get a check-up to make sure everything is okay for the long trek. Dr. Gigi Zeitoun was a very knowledgeable, sweet, and down-to-earth type of vet. She carefully handled my little scardey cat and examined her. When I had concerns and/or questions she patiently and clearly addressed and explained what I wanted to know. We chatted a bit and she let me know about her past experiences, one of them being was being a vet at an emergency clinic. This is actually quite a good thing to know as being a doctor/vet at emergency clinics you tend to have to be quite knowledgeable about the medicine you practice! Overall, this animal hospital is a great place and I'd definitely recommend it to others. -Knowledgeable Vets - Prices are fair -Friendly and courteous staff - Has parking! So, definitely go there and check them out! (Fun side-note) The animal hospital also had two cats which belong to Dr.Gigi that are very sweet, friendly, and definitely curious!

I brought my 10 year old pet cat here for the first time for a concern I had as his current vet was booked for a few weeks. I was apprehensive at first with going somewhere new but after speaking on the phone with the admin team and communicating with the vet I felt reassured. There is not enough space in this Review Box or the words available in the human vocabulary to explain just how exceptional and incredibly talented their entire team is. Beginning in their front office, extednding to their Technicians, and Veterinary staff...they are all a 10/10...kind, gentle, empathetic, accommodating, understanding, unbelievably knowledgeable, quick when they need to be, diligent and meticulous when it's required. We’ve been bringing our kitten here and it’s been great. She’s had 3 boosters and we also brought her in for a little accident she had. Every time has been quick and easy, affordable, and painless. They’re also very supportive of however you choose to raise your pet, as long as it’s safe and healthy. I’m a student so I’m getting her spayed through the spca and they had no issue or attempt to persuade me otherwise. Dr. Jassal, was referred to me by friends and I am so grateful. In my opinion, he is very knowledgeable, caring and considerate veterinarian. He has twice assisted my dog Tuscan with emergency treatment for ingested rat poison and surgery to remove horrible rotting teeth. He personally provided prompt follow up, thorough explanation of test results and procedures before, during and after both treatment and surgery. The hospital is kept very clean and the staff are friendly and supportive. My dog is my world and I know he is in good hands with Dr. Jassal and his team. Dr. Jassal has an easy going manner, and takes the time to explain to me how my dogs are doing...answering my sometimes many questions (I have 2 rescue dogs)! I've brought my dog to what feels like every vet in Toronto, and this is by far the best one. My dog is big, loud and terrified of vets, but this is the only place where she actually seems to feel comfortable (relatively speaking lol). Love this Vet! I’ve only just started coming here but so far it’s been a great experience. I have one cat with diabetes and a French bulldog with skin issues. In both instances I’ve felt they really care and have had a lengthy discussion via phone, (social distancing), with the Dr. Unlike many others, I feel like I have his complete attention while working with my fur friends. I also want to shout out Samantha at the front desk who is exceptionally lovely and kind. Great staff all around. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the area.

Worst vet I have been to in over 20 years, if I could give 0 stars I would. Positive reviews are clearly from paid bots (how come I cannot add a negative review to rate a biz; where this clinic has 5 stars on every review? Because the reviews are paid for or written by the owner, and Google should remove this paid promotion). DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Rajinder Jassal is rude, condescending, and will try to upsell you on treatments your pet does not need. Any experienced pet owner will be able to tell this when they meet him. There are lots of other good vets in the area. I will be re-posting this review on every site I can.

Very knowledgeable, professional and personable doctor and his staff. You can tell they are all huge animal lovers and your fur (or furless in my case) baby is in really good hands. I highly recommend this clinic! Edit: I brought a really sick and under-weight sphynx kitten (from a neglectful breeder) here back in Nov. Today thanks to the continious care of Dr. Jassal and his wonderful, hardworking team she is thriving and doing extremely well! I will be bringing my other two cats here on regular basis. This really is a great clinic, where your pets do not feel stressed and appointments do not feel rushed. Once again I very highly recommend this place!

Incredibly affable staff. Made sure my concerns were addressed and solved. Brought my cat in for fleas/cat ticks and the usual vaccinations. Doctor was very knowledgeable and very warm. Understands animal temperament and physiology well. Taught me how to apply frontline and informed me of what to do around the house and what to expect of my cat when administering medication. Great doctor, great staff.

I did some research on yelp before coming to this clinic. Was not disappointed at all. My cat has had horrible experiences in the past at other vets and have been super hesitant to take her back to one. Due to unique circumstances (her being lost for 2 weeks and finally finding her) has brought me to Dufferin Davenport. The doctor was super informative with her anxiety and behaviour and gave amazing helpful tips for future visits. Something the other vets never shed light on. He handled her with so much care and empathy. I’m so happy to have found this clinic. After administering her first shot, she reacted and he understood that for today, that was enough treatment and did not want to cause her unnecessary stress. Which I am completely grateful for. He puts the animal’s mental health first. All in all, amazing experience here. Prices are competitive and decent. Definitely a factor when looking for a new vet. Just ask questions, ask if it's 100% needed and then make an informed decision. They're my vet for a great reason

If you want to get ripped off, then head to that vet. They don't let you in, so there is no way to see if they are doing anything to your pet, and no, you should not trust anyone behind closed doors; human doctors have done worse to humans, vets are not an exception. I took my dog who had an ear infection to them, got there on time, they clearly had no one in there, so I knocked at the door, and they looked at me and kept doing what they were doing, after 10 min they opened the door and took my dog. For the next 10 min, I could see the assistant and the vet talking and trying to find papers and not even attending to my dog. Then I saw them going to the room where they put my dog, and came out after 1 min and called me to tell me the obvious, that my dog had an ear infection and she needed antibiotics. He asked me which antibiotic she had before and gave me the same one. I paid in total $181.93; they priced the Canaural 25ml at $87.50 when most vets and online pharmacies are selling it in the mid $30 range. I emailed them to check if it was an error, and they did not reply; the next day, I called, and they confirmed that it was not a mistake. I asked to return the meds and take a prescription instead, they said sure, but you have to pay $28 for the prescription when I had paid $73.50 for a 10 min visit.

Even if they are no taking on new clients (which would be odd), have the decency to call me back and let me know. It's fine though, I found a great vet that was responsive!

My crazy cat Syd has had quite the struggle, with a unique issue, a lot of attention is required. This vet was able to provide Syd with that attention and its been great for her! After being to many vets this one was the best for Syd. Pricing was more competitive than other vets without compromising quality of service. Staff were always welcoming and friendly, I strongly suggest this vet.

I started taking my elderly dog who was diagnosed with heart disease to Dufferin Davenport Animal Hospital years ago when they firstly opened and I was completely happy with all the services. My elderly dog lived way passed what was expected. He lived a long life but passed winter of 2018. I now have a 1 1/2 year old chihuahua that I also chose to bring here since he was a pup, even though I'm not living as local. The service with the vets and staff has always been great. Until now I have no complaints. They are friendly, gentle, caring and informative etc. Prices are good compared to many other places. Thank you to the vets and staff because these are our furbabies and we need them well cared for!!!!

I moved to Toronto recently from being a small town girl and can say Im genuinely impressed with their service/pricing. The Veterinarian was extremely knowledgeable/forward with his results. The pricing was same as in my area, which was a great relief after going around in the Annex looking for quotes. My cat has a torn third eyelid, and was extremely worried first thing they would go to is surgery putting a little thing under anesthesia, but he knew exactly what to do and can say her eye is better! Poor kitty was dumped in a park in Whitby, which I found her on their website when I was seeking to adopt a family member. He prescribed eye drops unlike the other vet I went to, which they had me give a ointment to put in her eye, after stating didn't feel comfortable doing that to a cat, but if they could do eyedrops be easier and quicker for the cats sake. Last vet tried to have my cats teeth extracted not only that, but also have her eye taken out, so am thankful to find someone who I feel can trust their judgment.

Dr Jassal is a fantastic vetertinaian. With short notice he was able to squeeze me in a day after I called in for an appointment. Being skeptical about everything, I wasn't sure what to expect. I only hoped all my research did me and my cat well. After meeting Dr Jassal he was quick to address all concerns about my cat. He is great at explaining all details to ensure one understands what is going on. Majority of my questions were answered prior to me asking, which really amazed me. There are vets out there that are more interested in the money they're receiving rather than the animal or owner... Dr Jassal is the complete opposite. Within less than a week my cat was treated and had surgery. Dr Jassal and is staff are great. The prices are very affordable compared to other places. I'm really happy with the choice I made. I’d had my eye on this place for awhile in preparation for the day I got a pet, and when I adopted my kitten I promptly setup an appointment to get the kitten checked out and start our relationship with this veterinary practice. And I’m so glad I did! Aside from the fact that the location is incredibly convenient for us, I’ve had nothing but great experiences with everyone who works there. Beyond my kitten’s initial appointments we continue to purchase food through them and plan to continue coming back for our yearly appointments. I really like this vet. Even now during COVID they helped me get my dogs flea and tick meds safely so I didn’t have to worry about my wellbeing or his. I like Dr. Jassal and the rest of the staff at Dufferin Davenport Animal Hospital. I was dissatisfied with my previous experiences at other clinics, so I'm glad to have found this place. I lived nearby in 2015-2017, and although I have since moved out of the area, I am happy to keep bringing my dog there. The staff are understanding and kind, which is very helpful since my rescue mutt hates going to the vet. Moreover, I like how Dr. Jassal runs his practice. He is always upfront about costs before doing anything, and discusses all the options including not doing anything at all. He further discusses his estimated probabilities of various outcomes. For instance he'll say, you could do X procedure which costs Y amount, but there's likely an 85% chance that your dog is fine and doesn't need it. My favourite thing about his practice is that he involves me in as much of the process as possible. I was there when my dog had an x-ray done, I was there when his blood was taken, and Dr. Jassal physically showed me the results of a litmus test he performed (this was all pre-COVID, of course). His staff also sent me the x-ray images, which is super neat to have pictures of my puppy's insides. All in all, great vet, great clinic, thanks for the great service!

I had such a great experience with this clinic. My cat needed surgery and I first went to another vet which quoted me a steep price and made it seem like it was an emergency operation. I was referred to this clinic as they are honest and caring. The surgery went smooth and I paid a lot less. I knew my cat was is good hands. The place is nice and comfortable. The front desk people are very friendly and it feels homey. I highly recommend this place !

Really close to my house, easy to make an appointment, they send u a lil post card to remind u of any vaccinations, my dog is normally kinda nervous but everyone who works there is really kind and my dog loves them! My dog had surgery a year ago and honestly within a good couple of weeks she was good to go, the post op instructions given to me by the staff was easy to follow as well. Rave reviews and reasonable prices make the Dufferin Davenport Animal Hospital the obvious choice for my cat, but the incredible service I received leading up to and during my visit today is what truly sets them apart! My cat had a rare allergic reaction to a vaccination from another clinic last year, so I was very worried about him getting re-vaccinated. Unfortunately, the rabies vaccine is required for crossing the Canadian border, so Dr. Jassal checked with the vaccine maker to find out protocol for sensitive cats, then administered an antihistamine and monitored his condition prior to giving the vaccine. We were allowed to stay in a spare exam room for several hours (free from the stress of encountering other animals) as Dr. Jassal stopped by now and again to see how my cat was doing and give him a treat. Mel and Sam were wonderful, assisting every step of the way while never making me feel like I was overstaying my welcome or asking too many questions. My cat had no adverse reactions and is as happy and hungry as ever. Thank you, Dufferin Davenport Animal Hospital.

Dr, Jassal is highly knowledgeable and effective, while at the same time, patient and kind with animals. And their humans. He checks out possible health issues conscientiously and diligently, but has the experience, balance - and lack of avarice - to not suggest unnecessary procedures. Dr. Jassal seems to have the magic touch with animals: my cat consented, without squirming, to have him administer eye drops. The only downside is the sense of failure you experience when you try to replicate this at home. The technicians/assistants are helpful, skillful and welcoming, Your pet will walk out with an inflated ego. Dufferin Davenport doesn't look like a Yorkville Spa, nor does it bill like one, which supports the conclusion that Dr Jassal and his assistants are doing what they do because they care about animals and their health, and for that reason only.

Although I could not go in with him due to covid procedures the doctor called and walked me through the exam. The vet was not pushy but was very thorough and kind. ALL THESE HIGH REVIEWS ARE FAKE. By far the worst vets office I've ever bin to. I work in rescue and rehabilitation, I seen many different veterinarians.I never write reviews but this was such a bad experience I had to warn others. 1. The office was empty but took him 30 minutes after the schdule appointment to be seen. It just himself and one assistant/receptionist. A lady came in and stood at the front desk for 15 minutes to pay for something and ended up leaving because they didnt even realize she was their. 2. I had to ask him to do a full examination that I am paying him for. 3. I knew the cat had earmites, he knew it too but still charged for him to look under a microscope when it should be included in the examination. 4. He suggested revolution to treat the earmites with no backround information. Revolution can not be prescribed without (1) a blood test for heart worm (2) sign a form refusing the blood test and understand the risks. All vets make you do this because it can kill the pet if you use revolution and it does have heatworm. 5. He was going to send me on my way without treating the area. I had to ask him, this is a part of your job. 6. The examination price sounds reasonable but not for the quality your getting, your better off paying more to someone else that will do there job properly. 7. He makes his money by over charging all of the medication. He was going to charge me $200+ for a cat with earmites. He is taking advantage of his clients who dont know the animal care industry, its absolutely insane. I'm suprised hes still in bussienss.

This review is not in regards to Dr. Jassal, as he is fantastic veterinarian, but rather for his terribly unprofessional, inefficient and spiteful veterinary technicians. After my dog missed a vaccination because they did not have my correct contact information on file I was of course, upset. Fast forward a few months and they became increasingly impossible to reach. After pointing this out to them, they were very dismissive and rude. Recently, I contacted them about my dog and they proceeded to tell me that my dog's file was now 'inactive'. Dr. Jassal, I do hope that you somehow see this review and consider hiring staff that are competent, compassionate and efficient as your current staff are none of the aforementioned.

I thought this was a good vet...until I moved and had to switch vets. Boy I was niave. This place is very low quality and I do not recommend. We had just adopted a dog from Texas and needed a full health assessment on her first visit. I was told she was healthy as they were able to do everything except draw blood because she was scared and uncooperative. She was quite traumatized from this visit and wouldn't let me pick her up after this vet visit. They gave me trazadone (for anxiety) for her next visit. The next visit they tried to get blood again with her on trazadone. They had trouble again and asked me to sign a waiver (due to covid) and come in and try and help. It was clear the vet didn't know what they were doing. The other staff were great, but this vet almost seemed scared of my terrified 40lb dog. My dog and I left this appointment both traumatized again and with no blood sample. They suggested sedating her next visit to try and get blood. So next visit they sedated her and I had to go in again. They couldn't get blood AGAIN because her blood pressure dropped too low. It was really scary and they even shaved her neck to try there. What a waste of money and time. Finally, we moved and our new vet got blood from her the first visit. Turns out my dog had a high white blood cell count and so we got a stool sample and turns out she has hookworms! Don't know why this vet didn't get a stool sample earlier?! Is that not standard procedure with a new patient? I am a new dog owner so didn't notice their slip up. I am so frustrated and disappointed that this vet is so incompetent. It cost me so much time, and money. Not to mention the trauma and the health of both my dog and myself as hookworms are contagious. I am very suspicious of all these 5 star reviews now. Please be cautious.

Regarding today's experience at Dufferin Davenport Animal Hospital we were very pleased with how their services are conducted. Firstly, the staff was very friendly. We met the vet tech at the door, handed over our fur baby and within minutes we were speaking with the Doctor. He was friendly, informative and listened to our concerns. While waiting outside we could see into the hospital and within short time our little buddy emerged happy and full of energy. He was actually playing with the vet tech...it was cute to see. All in all we found the service, the support staff and the doctor very professional, efficient and friendly. This is actually our fourth visit and we will continue to use this hospital for future needs.

Great staff. Was promptly seen by techs and the vet. Due to Covid19, I was unable to go in with my dog. But, the vet did a great job of calling me, as I waited outside during the visit, to keep me informed of exactly what they would be doing. He then called again, after the exam was complete and vaccinations administered, to discuss his findings thoroughly, and answer any questions I had. When the tech brought my dog back out to me, she once again went over all the details of the appointment and the instructions for the medication she was being sent home with. Prices are much more reasonable than other Toronto area vets. I had been here before, with my other dog who required dental extractions. The care and attention they provided during that time was awesome as well.

We switched vets when we got our puppy to a) find one closer to home b)find one that wasn’t so expensive. I frankly felt like I was being ripped off by every other vet in Toronto. Not to mention the constant judgement if you decide against say ..teeth cleaning or any thing else you can’t afford or isn’t necessary at that time. This clinic is the best! Zero pressure. 100% honesty and the price is always right. It’s just straight pet care from a decent vet that doesn’t rip you off. My dog actually got excited every time we were there even if he was muzzled (he’s not into needles. It was always a precaution and it was always my decision). He was always happy no matter why he was there.....So, we were always happy! They’ve even assisted us through the loss of our cat who was the most perfect fuzzy being on the planet ...I may be biased though, but either way he was in great hands through his cancer and his passing. Thanks again for all the care. We relocated cities and hate to leave this clinic behind. :(

Due to COVID you do have to wait outside while they work on your pet but they call you to ask you any questions and let you know what they are doing so you stay informed. I had to take my sick cat to an emergency clinic in the middle of the night. After blood work didn't reveal what was making him ill it was recommended further testing and admittance to hospital. I was looking at $2000 on the low end, which I couldn't afford. During working hours I brought him to Dufferin Davenport clinic and they were able and willing to at least treat the symptoms that were present, and give my cat a fighting chance, even without the full testing to find out what was going on, which would have been preferable for any vet trying to treat a sick animal. They all did their best to help him, and were very knowledgeable, kind, understanding and communicative, and with all that and some luck, my cat has fully recovered and is back to his usual self. I am very grateful to them!

Firstly I called ahead a few days before to make sure the item for my dog was available to try on, after the person on the phone asked at the office, the answer was: “Yes, definitely yes, please bring your dog for you to try here!” When I went there, they told me: “No, I'm sorry but the person on the phone didn't know much here” (do they put a person who doesn't know anything about their products and services to answer the phone?) Then, when I wanted to pay, they asked me for my credit card, to be taken inside to charge me, I refused because I don't feel safe giving someone my credit card, no matter where! They said they don't have a wireless data phone (????) as I needed the product, accept that they take my card to charge it inside. After a while, they came out and gave me the product with the receipt of the data phone (someone had the brilliant idea to write with a sharpie "on the back" that there was no refund or exchange, without thinking that writing on that type of paper and with that type marker was going to ruin the receipt (photo attached), I asked them to print a new receipt and they gave me a “fake invoice” from another customer with another product for another type of pet… I asked them to reprint the receipt from the machine, that invoice did not work for me an invoice that was not mine, not for my dog, not the product and not the amount, that it was not the post-surgery dress that I bought for my dog. With a grumpy face and grumbling, the person who attended me at the door spoke to the person at the reception (who was putting all her effort into offering the worst customer service). Finally, the two women came out and gave me a copy of the original receipt, complaining why I needed a new copy, I told them that this damaged receipt would not be read in a scanner, they raised their voices and told me that I was not right, not happy they told me to leave in a very rude way. I will never go to that place again, I do not recommend it at all, the worst service I have received in Canada, throughout my life! If from the beginning they had done their job well offering a pleasant and accurate service, this review would have been different! March 4th, 2022. 10:20am

I've been going to a different vet who requires my dog to be very sedated and still not able to handle my dog as his anxiety gets worse. This hospital was recommended by a friend. I was looking for a new vet in my neighbourhood and am so glad that I chose the Dufferin Davenport Animal hospital. The prices are fair and the staff are knowledgable and friendly but what impressed me most was the dedication and care they showed my cat. When I brought him in he was quite ill and needed surgery to remove an intestinal blockage - suffice to say it was a very stressful time. Dr Zeitoun talked to us extensively about both the surgery and after-care, and continued to check up on him regularly all month as he recovered at home. I am incredibly grateful that they helped us through the entire ordeal and, now that he is better, I am looking forward to being a customer for many years to come!

When the Dufferin Davenport Animal Hospital opened around my neighbourhood my mom and I were so grateful for the convenience as our previous vet was further away. Eventually, when we did bring our pets to the clinic the DDAH became more than just a great location, we fell in love with the staff and Dr. Zeitoun! Some veterinarians are not so welcoming nor excited upon seeing your pets. They can often make the experience feel rushed leading to several unanswered questions or concerns. That will not occur with Dr. Zeitoun...She truly takes her time with your animals and ensures that every owner understands certain procedures whether it be surgeries, treatment and even diet! She has a high degree of professionalism and handles every animal as if they're her own! Her super kind and outgoing personality alongside her educational background (with tons of experience as a vet) makes her the ideal veterinarian. With that being said, I will continue to recommend her for anyone's pet!

I noticed that my 3 year old dog was bumping into things and thought he might be going blind. I called his vet and they said they could only see him in 2 weeks. I friend told me about this vet and within 2 days they were able to see him. I'm truly grateful for their compassion and how quick they were to send a referral for an ophthalmologist for him. Now I'm praying to God that this is something that can be treated. Totally reccomend the vet and staff.

The staff here are incredible! They are always so sweet,kind, knowledgeable and super patient with our dog. Especially when he gets nervous about getting up on the scale and it’s not always easy as he’s 110 lbs.
